Yandere!Pantalone would be thrilled but also a bit hesitant to have a kid. His position as a Harbinger makes him a high value target and thus you by association. He does his best, buying out all the best doctors he can find across Teyvat to watch over your pregnancy and ensure there are no complications. Anything you need or crave or ask for, he’ll have for you.

Pantalone sighed in relief as he entered the room, you had been quite restless these past few days, feet swelling to the point you couldn’t walk, but you had finally settled enough to lay down for a nap. The stress of pregnancy was tough on anyone and he did his best to help soothe the pains, help fulfill every craving, and reassure every worry. Everything he could do to help make things a little easier on you he wasted no time in completing. When it came for check ups and any other medical care, he made sure the best of the best were always readily available for you. He wanted to ensure nothing happened to you or your child, as not only was that the heir to his fortune, but a part of him growing in you. This child would tie you to him forever.

Yandere!Diluc while keeping calm on the outside would be absolutely freaking out on the inside. He doesn’t know how to be a father, he couldn’t even be a good brother! He’ll spend his free time reading up on first time parenting books, paying closer attention to the mothers who pass by with their kids as he tries to pick up on some subtle parenting tricks.

Diluc sighed as he absentmindedly wiped at the same glass he had been cleaning for the past twenty minutes. Just outside the tavern, right in view were a mother and her child. The child was throwing and fit in the middle of the walkway and the mother was trying to calm him. The noise wasn’t a problem, the walls of the tavern were pretty thick, it was just the thought that Diluc would be in that position one day soon. His own child pitching a fit over some small, ridiculous thing while he flounders about, desperately trying to find any solution to the incessant crying. Thinking back to his beloved, who was currently at home under strict bed rest orders, and he longed to see them. To lay beside them in bed, retelling all the bizarre things he’d seen out the window of the tavern today, discussing what kinds of parents they wanted to be and how they would handle it.

Yandere!Zhongli is thrilled, inside and out, to be a father. While he’s lived for many years and has been a role model to many, he’s never had a proper child of his own. He of course maintains a calm and level head, but you’ll see him visiting the shops in town more often, chatting with the older women about his soon-to-be child and asking advice.

Zhongli smiled at the older woman as he picked a few flower arrangements for you, being stuck inside the house all day could be so drab, he hoped to brighten your day up even if just a little. It was no secret around town anymore that the handsome gentleman was a father-in-waiting, and with everything he talked about with the lovely women who helped their husbands run stalls for many years, it was clear he had a good grasp on what to do. Zhongli was more than just an esteemed gentleman with stunning looks, he was an intelligent and strong partner, the perfect type to raise a child with. His darling boss Hu Tao even offered to give him reduced shifts for a few months when it got close to birth and after so that he could be there to help with the first few months.

Kazuha

- it came out as surprise that kazuha of all ppl was asking you to pretend to be his lover for one evening

- "It's to get my moms to stop setting me up with random people." He explained to you.

- you recalled the first time you met his mom, you were so nervous. But, beidou's easygoing personality and her infectious laugh made you feel at ease at once.

- kazuha was your dear friend. Despite having feelings for him, you never acted on them 'cause you cherished his friendship and was afraid of his rejection.

- looking at the way he seemed so troubled, you couldn't reject his request.

"This doesn't change anything right?" You tentatively asked. There was an odd look on his face, before it was gone. He nodded.

"Fine then. I will come by your house."

- you felt so loved. all your favourite food was on the dinning table.

"I had to ask kazuha what your favourite dishes were. I hope you enjoy my cooking." Ningguang smiled at you.

"I thought they were your friend. Why didn't you tell us before." Beidou laughed, nudging a blushing kazuha.

- soon the dining hall was filled with laughter, and you can't help but feel guilty for lying to the two amazing women.

- so when you and kazuha were finally left alone, you tell him that his family was amazing.

"Thank you for agreeing to this. My mothers were really happy you came." Kazuha said, truthfully.

- you nod and went back to eating the almond tofu on your plate.

"Your mom makes the best almond tofu, I swear."

- "Almond tofu is not the only good thing my mom has you know." Kazuha whispered in your ear with a smirk.

- your mind went blank with a *windows XP shutting down sound*

Childe

"You're blind date didn't go well huh? Hu Tao told me." Childe slurrs, drunkenly putting his arm around you as he laughs.

"I suggest you to shut your shitty mouth."

- currently you are out drinking with your friends after a long week and of course this bastard had to tag along.

"I think I know why you get dumped so easily." He side eyes you with a smug face.

"If you don't shut up, I'm gonna shove this glass of wine up your ass."

- zhongli watches the two of you fight in amusement as he sips his wine.

"Is this how they get every time they get drunk?" Hu Tao laughs.

"Indeed." He responds with a knowing smile.

- "I'm gonna take a piss. Be right back." You say, slipping away from childe's hold, before disappearing into the crowd.

"Oi.. don't go alone it's dangerous."

You ignore childe's worried calling as you navigate your way to the washroom. The club is too crowdy.

-Not too long after, you hear footsteps behind you and you sigh, knowing who it is.

- "I told you not to go alone." You feel his arm snaking around your waist as you walk.

"Fine." You sigh, leaning on his arm. "Wait outside the washroom, okay?"

- but when you come back, you find childe talking to someone on call. So, you keep your distance. It's probably teucer.

- you dont notice untill later someone approaching you.

"Are you alone, sweetie?" This dude asks, stepping too close to you with a disgusting grin on his face.

"I came with my friends. And, leave me alone, you creep." You snap at him.

"Now, now don't be like that." He says, grabbing your arm.

- at this point you were so pissed. Before you could land a proper punch on his face, you find yourself being pulled away from him and into a familiar set of arms.

- "Don't you know better than touching someone's lover." Childe speaks to him in a warning tone. "They got a boyfriend, you know?"

- "Boyfriend?" The creepy guy looks questioningly at you and then at childe.

- "Yeah, he is here you know." Childe whirls around looking through the crowd, making the other guy look around.

"Where would he be?" The other guy scoffs.

"Why, he's right in front of you." Childe chirps, turning back to him with a smile. You roll your eyes at that. What a dramatic ass.

- "I need to teach you a proper lesson for touching my things before you leave."

SAGAU ZHONGLI AND TIME DILATION (SLEEPING EDITION)

❀ synopsis: you have been sleeping for a long time now and Zhongli is starting to worry, what if you never wake up?

❀ trigger warnings: mentions of panic attacks, comas (at least to them it seems like one), loneliness, mentions of death, religious themes, obsessive behavior.

It's been a long time since Zhongli has been this worried. You have been sleeping for 2 days without waking up. He knew that gods are not required to sleep since their bodies function fine without it. But your current form is painfully human, and you have gone on for months, almost half a year without sleeping. When you went to sleep for the first time Zhongli was relieved, but it slowly turns to dread when you have been asleep for 2 days straight.

He quickly hires the best doctors using Childe's mora stash (Which Childe was more than willing to give since it's related to you). And all of them couldn't find the problem with you sleeping for so long. Your body was functioning fine even though you haven't eaten for days, you didn't seem to be rotting and your heart is still beating. It was like you were sleeping.

More weeks pass and you still haven't woken up. Your sleeping form is currently with Ningguang, sometimes he would visit you and kneel at the side of your bed praying for you to wake up. He's never felt this helpless in a long time, it felt like he was sinking and each time he tries to hold onto something it phases through his hands.

Zhongli tries to stay strong for you, he would try and continue to do his best at his occupation. But to you, he easily gets overpowered by your control, his usually composed self being thrown away and replaced by a god desperate to please their creator. And to see you fall into such a state drives him insane. And he couldn't even do anything about it.

Hu Tao can only watch as her coworker slowly falls into madness. But he could care less about that, what matters right now is that your life must be hanging by a thread, a precious thread that's about to snap into two. He would soon start to unintentionally pressure the doctors to find a solution, and even call a certain alchemist to travel from Monstadt to Liyue to help find the problem.

But just like the doctors, Albedo couldn't find the problem. So instead of doctors hovering over your body 24/7, it was soon converted to weekly check-ups, during those check-ups Zhongli would wait by your side patiently to see the results and if anything changed.

Zhongli started a journal 3 weeks after you slept, he remembered how you like to ask about his day. So he started writing down what happened while you were slumbering, hoping when one day you do wake up (he hopes you will wake up) he can give this to you and you can read what happened.

Most of the entries consist of him hoping you were there to experience the day, wondering what you were dreaming about when you were asleep, and wishing that you would wake up soon. It became more of a diary than a journal, he didn't notice that though.

On days when the loneliness was too much to bare he would hold your hand, which was surprisingly warm (his heart would bleed even more if it was cold), and start praying. Begging that you don't leave and to just hold on a little longer, he can't go back to when you haven't descended. He doesn't know what he's going to do to himself if it came to that.

When you do wake up he will be short of breath before a wave of euphoria washes over him. Your awake, you didn't leave him. All he wanted to do at that moment was kneel before you and say how much he misses you.

Don't expect him to leave after that incident, after knowing what is was like without you his overbearingness will be doubled. You would have to get checked by a doctor every week, and if you decide to explain the time dilation between you and Teyvat (given if you even know about the time dilation situation) then he will do his best in finding a solution. Because he's pretty sure if he has to live again through the experience, he's going to break.

— like with eula, she understands how you feel in the realest level. she’s like the clown of the town, constantly getting talked about, judged, all of that stuff. yes, there’s times where she felt alone but she remembers her grandfather, zhongli, the traveller, and the friends she met as she breathes each day. there’s also you, how could she forget you? her special someone she dreams of so often.

— so when you tell her that you felt like a burden to others and to her, her usual cheery mood is gone from her face and hu tao’s serious. she listens, uncharacteristically quiet as she soaks in your words about your history with individuals who showed a lack of interest in you as a person. despite what was told about hu tao, she is a great listener.

“ my butterfly, all of what they said isn’t true, not at all.” her palm touches your cheek tenderly, she frowns. “ your voice is gentle to the ears; it managed to reach down and warm the cold, darkest feelings i’ve buried deep within my heart.” hu tao leans in to kiss between your eyebrows and pulls back with her signature smile. “ aiyah, you’re my muse after all. “

— as someone who’s been fighting for her life ever since she was a child, she understands how cruel teyvat and the people can be. she had to fight for respect and people to look in her direction. but now, she is a powerful captain with an excellent crew. she also has an amazing partner, a invaluable treasure that she would never give away and will protect with her life.

— when you spoke about your hesitance at revealing your interest to others, afraid of being seen as boring and uninteresting, beidou was shocked however she quickly recovered and continue to listen to you until you were done. she tells you how much she loves you with that toothy smile of hers and empathizes with how you feel.

— Love Story: 14. stage 1

kaveh x reader

Childe puts down his phone, grinning. Scara glances at the man in confusion and suspicion– glaring in the process; what is this mother fucker gonna do now? But instead of causing a stir, he stands up with a small smile, “I’ll be going to the balcony first for a breather.”

Tighnari has left the table to catch up with his other friends, so only Childe, Scara, Hu Tao, Heizou, and you are left.

“We’ll go with you,” Heizou says, looking at the sober Hu Tao. “Right, Hu Tao?” He smiles. Hu Tao looked at her friend, confused, who only gave her a knowing– yet nervous– look. “Bitch wha–”

Before she can finish her sentence, Heizou grabs her hand with his sweaty one and then stands up. “We’ll be back!” Childe exclaims, walking away from their table with Heizou and a very confused Hu Tao, who is, unfortunately, being dragged.

“What the fuck,” Scara says, confused.

Before he could register what had just happened, a light blue-haired man approached their table. Upon recognizing the person, he frowns, “What are you doing here?”

“Isn’t it only natural for me to be here? It is my house and party, you know?” Ayato smiles at the purple-haired man, who only snickers. “What do you want, Kamisato?” Ayato frowns, feigning sadness, “How rude; I’m just here to say hello.”

The two continue their useless banter, unnoticing the change of their surroundings.

“Talking to you gives me war flashbacks; what if you leave us alone?” Scara snaps at the Kamisato, who only smirks. “Us? You’re alone here, though.”

Scara looks at him, confused, until he glances at the seat where [Name] was supposed to be. His eyes widen, and his face distorts into worry and anger; he glares at Ayato, who smiles, “You bastard, where are they?” Scara asks in a threatening tone. Ayato continues to smile at the angry gremlin, concealing that he’s sweating his palm off. ‘Fuck high school,’ He thinks.

“I’m sorry, I have no idea,” Ayato innocently answers. He really doesn’t know; his only role in this plan was to distract Scara so that they could kidnap you. Scara stands up, walking towards the half scared half amused Ayato; he places his hand on his shoulder. “Then, you have to help me find them,” Scara smiles, yet it doesn’t reach his eyes, “Or you don’t want the picture of you wearing a maid outfit to spread in all of Inazuma.”

a friend scaramouche x gn!spouse!reader and baby kuzushi (modern au, fluff, mentions of scaramouche sibling au and secrecy of our confessions au)

"papa, papa," kuzushi was akin to a broken record, crawling all over the bed scaramouche shares with you. he tumbled on the mattress and got stuck upside down then flailed his legs around, trying to get back onto his tummy. scaramouche scoffed out a laugh and helped the baby.

kuzushi rubbed his face into the bed, "papa." scaramouche smiled, "you're going to behave for your very first friend, okay? she's been very eager to meet you, kuzu." he said, trying to catch kuzushi's attention. however, kuzushi continued to do somersaults while repeating 'papa.'

scaramouche tsked, "hey... you're going to get dizzy if you keep doing that." he lifted up his son mid-somersault. kuzushi giggled, trying to slide out of his arms. he succeeded in doing so, and would've hit the floor if not for scaramouche catching him in time.

"come now, let's go see what your (preferred parent name) and friend are up to." scaramouche sighed, making his way down the stairs with an energetic baby.

hu tao sighed, resting her face in her hand, "i wish the rest were able to be here today. they've been so busy with uni lately," you could barely focus on anything she was saying, your eyes trained on the child playing with kuzushi's toys.

'will kuzushi be mad if she plays with his toys? surely not, he's such a sweet boy, right? but there is that one time he pushed a girl at the park because she was on the swing set he wanted to be on-' countless thoughts circled your mind, anxious on the attempt to give kuzushi his very first friend.

the little girl with magneta eyes and purple hair tugged at hu tao's sleeve. qiqi held a toy train in her chubby hands, "this person... has a lot of toys." hu tao put a hand on her head, gently ruffling her hair, "haha, he sure does!"

you tittered, "thank you for bringing your little sister over, hu tao." hu tao crossed her legs, "it's nothing, really. if anything, qiqi should have her own friend, as well. she's a quiet girl and i'm worried about her starting school next year." she solemnly said with a hopeful smile.

qiqi didn't mind the conversation the two of you were having, but instead, was more interested in the toys. you laughed, "i'm positive qiqi will make a lot of friends. she seems like a very nice girl."

scaramouche peered into the living room. you caught a glance of him and quickly rushed over. qiqi perked up, looking to find out what the commotion was all about.

kuzushi gnawed on scaramouche's shirt. "are you ready to meet your friend, kuzu?" you cooed as scaramouche lent you the baby. scaramouche deadpanned, "i just hope he doesn't resort to violence." you hummed, "oh, don't be like that, kuni... he'll be just fine." but the wavering in your voice said it all.

hu tao leaned forward with a grin as you entered with kuzushi in your arms. qiqi's eyes widened, "...a baby." scaramouche narrowed his gaze at hu tao, who smirked. "still the same rivals as ever, i see," you thought to yourself with a smile.

you carefully set kuzushi down in the play-pen with qiqi and she slowly scooched away, giving him a wary glance. kuzushi looked up at her before crawling closer to close the distance. qiqi let in a short intake of breath as kuzushi curiously placed his hands in her hair.

"please don't pull her hair, please don't pull her hair, please don't-" you hid behind your husband who sputtered out a chuckle. qiqi's tense shoulders relaxed and kuzushi giggled. he seemed to be interested in the color purple, after all.

kuzushi made his way to his toys, grabbing his favourite stuffed giraffe that he inherited from his father. he lent it to qiqi with a big smile. qiqi thanked him with a tilt of her head, "thank you. what's your name?" she queried.

kuzushi put out his arms and happily babbled, "koo-joo-chee!" qiqi let out a few giggles. "my name is qiqi. do you want to play with me?" she ushered him to a certain spot in the play-pen and kuzushi followed her like a little pet.

you exhaled in relief, only now realizing how tight you were gripping scaramouche's arm. hu tao's shoulders shook with her giggles, "well, would you look at that. they seem to get along just fine." you cheerfully sighed, "don't they?"

scaramouche scoffed, putting aside his phone, "and i thought i was able to get some good footage of kuzushi getting rabid." hu tao gave him a deathly glare and he innocently smiled, "all jokes."

Rest assured the child will be the most spoiled child to ever live in the whole world. You want the toy? The little teddy bear? Auntie Ningguang got it for you. You want to go out and pick some flowers around Mondstadt? Big sister Amber has your back with big brother Razor on guard. Do you want to go and play? Take Klee with you but promise not to do anything bomb related okay? The acolytes will see the child, adopted or not, as an extension of you which means if something happens to them the perpetrators should be ready for an incoming war.

If the child has been there way before you two were thrown in Teyvat and then the acolytes would take it as their responsibility to be the second parent. They’ll happily become their guardians, playmates, teachers and protectors if you become busy with your job in Teyvat. I have a feeling it will take time for the child to adjust because they are used to technology for sure and Teyvat’s closest technology is not social media related but fine tools for work and adventures.

In the adjustment period, acolytes will make their own schedules and it will be a by nation schedule to ensure that the time spent is equal. In Mondstadt they have activities such as learning how to use a wind glider with Amber and playing around with Klee and Diona. Kaeya for sure will be their guardian in the city because Jean is busy with her job as the acting grandmaster. Sucrose will be a dear and teach them the language of Teyvat with Albedo teaching them how to draw. Venti loves playing music with them but Rosaria has to keep watch because she left Venti alone; they were both found on the top of the statue in front of the cathedral. No worries about getting injured, we have Auntie Barbara on call.

Lisa loves helping them fall asleep by reading a book for them and seeing them napping in the library is a common occurrence. Outside the city, Diluc would be their protector with Eula at the distance watching out for whoever that will try harming them. A small part of the Dawn Winery was converted into a mini playground for them to play around with Elzer and Tunner teaching them about the grapes. No wine though, just grape juice. Bennett and Razor will be their big brothers and would take them to adventures (with another acolyte following them to ensure their safety of course).

They have more playmates in Liyue than in Mondstadt. The Liyue teens (Chongyun, Xiangling, Xingqiu, and Xinyan) will always set a time aside to play hide and seek around, Liyue is a big place at all and sometimes hide and seek takes a long time to finish. Qiqi’s memory is not good, which is why they are paired with Ganyu and Keqing if something happens. Yanfei once tried to teach them law saying that ‘the earlier the better’ but she was chastised by Madame Ping and the law book reading became story times.

Hu Tao once tried to take them to Wuwang Hill but it got them frightened and ran away, luckily Xiao was able to calm them down. Hu Tao is grounded from taking them outside the city from then on. Ningguang and Childe, though they hate each other, will do their best to provide for the child. It has become a competition inside Childe’s brain though. From time to time when Yun Jin needs a time off, she will sneak outside the city with the child and Shenhe tagging along with them. If the city becomes suffocating, Zhongli will take them to different places like Qinghe village or carry them in his arms to go up Mt. Aocang to meet Cloud Retainer.

Going to Inazuma, Kazuha and Beidou would be their guards. Thankfully, the Shogun already removed the storm barrier around the city or else it would be hard for them to move around. I have a headcanon that Beidou can take care of kids because the crew has a small boy and that also means that the child has a playmate whenever they need to travel.

Kujou Sara’s headache doubled after the child took a liking and started going around with Arataki Itto. Yomiya’s fireworks shows became double as well with the child becoming their mini designer. The Komori teahouse is now filled with laughter because Ayaka and Ayato will always come visit. By Thoma’s words though, they are banned from using weird stuff in hotpot games. Taking a nap at Narukami temple with Sayu is now allowed by Yae Miko who loves spoiling the child with sweets. I have a feeling Sangonomiya shrine is their new favorite place as well and that some parts of it was child proofed by Gorou and Kokomi. Raiden who has been lonely for years will do her best to be a big sister or even a second parent to the child wondering if the warm feeling in her chest is the same feeling Makoto felt when she was still around her.

If the acolytes are yanderes, they will not hesitate to use the child to gain your attention and might even subtly force them to pick a favorite place or acolyte.

If the god! reader got pregnant by one of the acolytes in secret, it’s gonna be a mini war. You thought the secret relationship could be hidden until you went to the Narukami Shrine and Yae sniffed what’s going on already. The others brushed it off as Yae just joking until you woke up one morning complaining about the smell followed by throwing up. Before any of the archon could even go near, your acolyte lover came barreling to the door asking you if you’re alright and that’s when things clicked.

Almost immediately regardless of power or money, your acolyte lover will be put to questioning because ‘really bro? Our god?’ This lover of yours will only be released by your orders. Some acolytes are salty about it though but it won’t stop them from trying to get your attention. If the pregnancy is sensitive, it’s high likely that the acolytes won’t let you travel and you’ll be spending the whole three terms in one nation only. Healers all around will be having their own home to stay in the nation that you choose and everyday the nation will be receiving tons of offerings and baby clothings and toys.

Once the baby is born, jealousy is likely to happen because it’s over. Your attention is now focused on the baby and your lover. Acolytes like Klee, Qiqi, Diona and Sayu don't mind it though, they just see the baby as a smaller sibling but to the older ones, it is different. Once that happens, they will persist and do their best to take care of the baby. In yandere context, having the baby born doesn’t save your acolyte lover though because the other acolytes will try their hardest to take them out of the picture.

Okay so this has been in my inbox for a while (I think haha) and I've been meaning to get to this! Gender neutral reader, angst. Each of these characters will have different ways of them not showing up for a date, and while Alhaitham has had one done on this blog that was the reader being a wet wipe and letting Alhaitham do that three times instead of completely passing him by after he did so.

Tartaglia:

He was the one who asked you out, when he was in Liyue on a mission. You accept, somehow not knowing about his job, and he makes a time and place for you to meet up. You put on your best outfit, your best fragrance, as much effort as you could to leave a good impression during the date.

As you stand at the harbor, the location he told you, you wait with baited breath. After a few minutes pass, you start to worry. fifteen minutes after, you see him walking towards you.

...Only to walk past you, onto a boat. Before you could go after him, the ship leaves. He didn't make eye contact with you, he didn't turn his head or apologise in any way when you called out for him.

You look around, seeing the people around you give you a look of empathy as they realise you were stood up. Nobody had seen you this nice before, they knew you were looking forward to this date based on how you held yourself, as well as how you shrunk when he ignored you.

Zhongli:

You asked him out, finding him interesting and Hu Tao had played matchmaker in this case. He told so many interesting stories, and he was an intelligent man. Not to mention the looks, however he was the full package for you.

Sitting at the tea room you agreed on, you start to think you've thought too much about how lovely he was. You were sitting there for an hour, only leaving when one of the staff tell you that they were closing shop for the day.

He never told you why he didn't show for the date, and Hu Tao tried her hardest to reassure you this was just a one time mistake. She tries telling you that Zhongli is a smart man, and he would never turn down the chance to date you.

But you knew better, you knew that he didn't respect you enough to date you. He played you, and when you asked him why he wasn't there, he clears his throat before looking down at his pocket. He didn't apologise, either. He didn't give you any words, actually.

Alhaitham:

When you got asked out by Alhaitham, you had to ask him to repeat himself. Being the person who delivered whatever letter needed to be sent out regarding applications for the open Sage positions, you thought he didn't return your feelings. You look away bashfully when you say yes, and he tells you the location and time.

When he didn't show up, you decide to order for yourself. Halfway through your meal, Kaveh is the one that shows up instead of Alhaitham. Turns out, Alhaitham 'changed his mind', Kaveh quoted. Kaveh decided to sit with you, knowing it would only look embarrassing for you if he walked out after saying one thing.

Kaveh tried his best to cheer you up, but nothing could work after the excitement you felt when you waited for him. After he walks you home, you thank him for making it at least look like he was who you were waiting for.

The next day, Alhaitham asks you how your night was. After seeing you glare at him, he tells you that you need to stop putting people on pedestals. He explains that he knew about your feelings - how obvious it was to everyone - and he decided it would be the best way for you to move on. As much as you wanted to quit, you knew you had to find a job to fall back on, so from that point onwards you were cold to him.

It was only fair after he toyed with your feelings to 'make you realise you were being urealistic'.

Tighnari:

When you asked him out, he said he would be happy to be there. You tell him a time and place, him nodding and noting it down before reassuring you he would be there.

When your shift ended, you changed out of your forest ranger uniform to clean yourself up before going for the date. After making sure you look good, you head off. You actually showed up a little bit late, as something came up with your work.

Ten minutes later, Tighnari is there. You thought he was there for you, only to feel humiliated when he walks over to the table with his friends. He sits down, apologising for being late as he pulls out his deck of cards. When you hear someone pull out a chair across from you, you expect it to be someone needing a spare chair for their own table.

Only to see Dehya there. She asks you if you wanted her to drag Tighnari over, knowing about the date he was talking to her about being tonight. Shaking your head, you tell her you'd rather forget about this incident. Shrugging it off, you instead treat Dehya to a meal, your heart sinking because you heard Tighnari talking as if he didn't remember you had a date.

The next day, Tighnari assigns you your duties for the day before turning to leave. You ask him if he enjoyed his night, and he brushes it off by saying he enjoyed his time with his friends. He caught your disappointment, but he didn't know why.

He didn't approach you in the days after that, and you slowly processed the fact he stood you up despite looking like he was happy to go on a date with you while working alone on your shifts.

Continuing from our line of thought in our last conversation, with a Zhongli and Reader who share feelings but have yet to confess to each other/the slow burn of it all, until it is no longer slow

Just imagining a reluctant Zhongli letting her in when he catches the worry radiating off of his omega her; the sour scorch of anxiety in the pheromones he scents off of the air around her.

His heart shudders at the mere thought of having been the cause of her worries, basal instincts immediately surrendering to her will, desperate to relieve that knit in between his beloved’s brow.

Ushering her in to allow her a seat within his guest quarters, instead of his personal office space like he usually does. The latter housing much more of her... vivid traces from when she often pays him visits on behalf of Hu Tao.

Zhongli does not think he could control himself were he to take her to that room, watch her sit herself from across him, at his desk. Fixating a look of worry for him, smelling like that.

Zhongli’s next breath gutters out of his throat, as if to shred apart the very graphic, obscene image that bursts across his lids; how he’d rather have that beautiful body unfurled across his desk, smooth that frown into pleasure with the slow press of fingers she’d graciously allow him to ease in between her legs—

The next sound that breaks from him is carnal, unhinged; he smothers it against an obsidian palm — unravelings of his power, bleeding onto his appearance, with the vulnerability that comes with his rut — before his control can shatter entirely.

“Zhongli?” Wrenching himself out of stupor to catch the question in her gaze, the way her eyes flitter momentarily across the seized tightness of his jaw, the jagged edge of his fangs clenched in a white, bared snarl; he realizes belated, the threat he must present to her gaze, wild and unfettered.

He needs his mind off of her body — now — before it is her clothes he cleaves off of her instead. The only shred — sliver — of sanity keeping him together: his several millennia lived, the iron will of control he’s had himself subjected to, century after century — nothing, no lover, before, however, has tested his patience as she does.

And...

Zhongli frowns, pressing himself back into the seat farthest, from across her, dark fingers curling irons across the arms of the chair, holding himself imprisoned.

And the fact that they have yet to be bonded, leashes him most.

A most inopportune time for her to have turned up at his doorstep when his rut is close at hand, and that too for personal business, but Zhongli knows he must remain civilized; the gentle man she knows him as, he wishes to remain untainted within her gaze, at the very least—

And so he asks her about her day, in an effort to turn her mind — and his — off his current “ill-health”, he assures her is no cause for worry. A decision that turns itself into swift, vicious vengeance upon Zhongli instead.

“I spent my morning with Scara— ahem, Wanderer. He wished to repay me for my earlier help with a neutralising antidote, I mentioned it once to you before, Zhongli.”

Whetted fingernails carve just that bit more deep into the wood beneath his arms.

That son of Beelzebub, the one who looks at her with the eyes of a man; a gaze that dares want for what he desires. How dare a mere doll ingress upon an Archon’s claim—

“...With him alone? Did that bard... Venti not promise to accompany you on your commissions today?”

She seems mildly perplexed at the line of questioning. Zhongli, however, is in no state to help himself.

“Venti had a task come up he had to attend to with Mari.” She answers, at last.

And then Zhongli spots it: a scent, a claim. An oddity not her own; he failed to notice earlier by fault of his lust fogged mind.

The teal, dangling earring — not hers — she skips delicate fingers, along her earlobe, as if it is a precious commodity.

And he begs, in silence, for her to not speak what he does not wish to hear in that moment. Sickening, as the scent across that jewelry on his omega her body tinkers at the cage of a large, gilded beast deep within him.

She does not spare Zhongli that mercy.

“He gifted me this earring, as a token of our friendship, although he wasn’t very forthcoming with his feelings, as usual.” She smiles. “It is a beautiful thing, isn’t it? Wanderer requested, well, more like, ordered me to keep it on at all times, that silly man.”

Zhongli feels that exact moment of time his fingers jam at, in poor imitation of reigning in a long fled control — and fail — splintering through the arms of his chair.

It was stupid. A crush you happened to work for has gone wild in the sense that you may or may not have noticed that his wrist was tainted with your name. This not only caused you to have an entire mental breakdown that you couldn’t let show physically, but you rushed out of the funeral parlor, nearly knocking down Hu Tao with your theatrics.

Not to mention, you thought Zhongli was either clueless, didn’t care, or was just naturally calm about things this extreme because he saw the man who was now his soulmate every day without a stutter, shake, or a cracked-up voice; unlike yourself. Who were you to complain, though? If he acted normal and made no big deal of it, it was most likely not a big deal, right?

You only groaned out annoyingly as you pushed the thoughts away, focusing on the smell of coffins as you helped a woman pick out one for her new-found lover who turned dead because of some freak mitachurl accident. To which you could only nod solemnly in response too, praying to the archons above that something like that wouldn’t happen to you before Zhongli decided to pay attention to you being his soulmate.

It was only a matter of time before the woman left that you quite literally had enough, and rushed to knock on Zhongli’s office door, tapping your foot impatiently as you waited for him to open it. He couldn’t have let you inside at a better time before you brushed past him, albeit harshly, before turning around to face him.

“You’ve been ignoring me.” Four words and you almost swore Zhongli blinked back a cry at them, a solemn smile playing at his lips before he sighed, motioning for you to sit in the chair in front of his desk.

The conversation was nothing like you had imagined in your head. No ‘I’m not into men’, no ‘There’s someone else, no ‘I’m not interested in having a soulmate, but an “I’m an archon” in its place. After letting the statement settle in, Zhongli continued with his explanation in a manner so calming that it almost made you regret your previous snap towards him just a few minutes ago.

He failed to converse with you about your souls being intertwined because he felt as if he would be burdening you with the truth that when you two got completely attached you would pass on before him, centuries before him if he was going to be honest; although it seems as if he was burdening you with the truth now.

You would grow and he would not, you would maybe adopt a child and they too would grow old and he would not, you would fear over time where you would leave him and he would not. He was afraid, afraid that you would worry so much about him and his sake of being with his soulmate, that you wouldn’t enjoy the time you spent together.

But in the end, you both agreed. The two of you would spend the rest of your time together in this world until it came for you to part, and no matter what had happened you wouldn’t feel the need to worry about what would happen to him after you eased to live.

“Because as long as I still can recall memories of you, I shall be fine.”

You entered the glittering ballroom. This was your first time traveling in this world. It had been three months since your arrival in this world. Your coven was invited to an affair, and they thought it was a good time to introduce you. You took in the sights with no small degree of interest.

You heard a deep chuckle from besides you and ducked your head. You hoped you hadn’t been that obvious. But these were things you’d only seen in movies.

“Do not worry, my dear. The night is young. We will show you all there is.” Zhongli spoke, raising the back of your hand to his lips.

Neuvillette’s hands draped over his cane in front of him, “Indeed.”

Alhaitham only sighed. He was bored already, and his elders refused to let him bring a book with him. They even double-checked before they left.

However, you barely got in the door before you heard, “ZHONGLI!!”

You blinked as at the whirlwind and looked up to see a young girl, dressed in brown with long twin pigtails and black nail polish, had thrown her arms around Zhongli. As tall he was, she was floating as she did so. Despite her gothic demeanor, she was all smiles as she squeezed him tighter, “You made it!! Welcome!!”

Zhongli sighed, “Hu Tao, must you do this? I haven’t even been here for two minutes, yet.”

“But how else am I to greet my sire? I haven’t seen you in a long time!”

“We saw each other last month. For us vampires, that is hardly a long time. Now, get off of me, please. I have a Blood Mistress. It’s time for you to stop being so childish and pay some respect to her.”

You blinked when Hu Tao popped in your face with a grin. You clearly saw her sharp canines as she took in your appearance, “I’m Hu Tao, one who was turned by the Lord Rex Lapis! You are his coven’s Blood Mistress, yeah? It’s nice to meet you, Y/N L/N. Yes, I know all about you! No need for introductions!”

You had to fight to catch up with everything she said before you smiled shyly, “Well, nice to meet you anyway.”

Hu Tao threw her arms around your shoulders chummily, “Aren’t you a cute one! You are human, right? Hey, have you thought about the great beyond? We are having a two for one deal….”

She was snatched away from you and your eyes widen as Rex Lapis glared down at her, “I suggest you watch your mouth, little one.”

Hu Tao waved his words away, “I wasn’t talking about for the two of you but perhaps she…oh right, she came from another world, didn’t she? Never mind. I’m sorry! Hey, let me introduce you to my Blood Master and coven sisters Xinyan and Xiangling! Listen, if Xiangling offers you anything ask what’s in it before you eat, okay? I will not have my sire’s Blood Mistress passed out, Zhongli can and will kill me. She’s a great cook, but she has some weird tastes, you know. Let’s go!!”

Your eyes were wide as you look over your shoulder at Zhongli who gave you a reassuring smile. You relaxed. If he was letting you go with her, it must have been okay.

“I never thought she would leave. How can a vampire be that sunny?” Alhaitham growled, raising his hand to massage his temple.

“Hey, you guys made it!!”

“Speaking of sunny….” Zhongli sighed. It hasn’t been 15 minutes, and he was already tired as he turned to the newest group with a ginger head in front.

“Zhongli! It’s been awhile!” Childe grinned.

“So your coven was invited as well.” Zhongli eyed the men behind Childe, “Is your Blood Mistress, here as well?”

The coven that Childe belonged to was….questionable in his eyes. Not one, of them, was sane in his opinion. Dottore was a mad doctor, Pantalone valued mora a bit too much and Capitano was, in fact, a werewolf, and a bloodthirsty one at that. Childe was the sanest, and that was saying something. He always felt bad for their Blood Mistress. What did she have to put up with, with them?

“Yep! It seems Hu Tao is winding up all the Blood Mistresses and Masters here to introduce yours!” Childe laughed at the growing group that was surrounding you. You hadn’t realized there would be so many.

“Are we sure, we shouldn’t intervene? It looks like she might be feeling overwhelmed.” Neuvillette observed.

“Ah, let’s leave them alone!” Childe spoke, “More to the point, Rex Lapis, we should have a fight sometime!” His eyes swept over the group, “Or, rather, I’ll fight any of you!”

Neuvillette gazed calmly at Childe, “Do you really think you wish to get into it with me?”

Alhaitham added, “Don’t involve me in your stupidity.”

Zhongli just sigh, “Why? So you can lose again?”

“Each lost brings me closer to victory. We shouldn’t ruin our friendship so something so petty as how many times I lose.”

“We are not friends, Childe….”

“You wound me.”

“So this is where the party is….”

“Heya, Kaeya!!” Childe greeted, then he gave a cool grin toward the red-haired behind him, “Diluc…it’s been a minute.”

Diluc bared his fangs, “Don’t try me.”

Childe laughed, “Bring it on! Let’s go! We can step outside now!”

Zhongli growled silently. Why did this young vampire insist on fighting everyone he came across? So help him, if he tried that with you.

“I will not!” Diluc retorted, folding his arms, “This is a formal occasion, and we should conduct ourselves accordingly!”

Venti laughed as he stepped between the two of them, “Now, now! Why should we get into fights when we have such a wonderful gathering. It’s been since five years since we had a coven gathering like this!”

Kaeya spoke, “Yes, we have much to celebrate. We’ve found more Blood Mistresses and Masters in the past five years than ever before. Let’s not forget the reason for this gathering.”

“Like you and Venti need a reason to celebrate.” Diluc grumbled, “I ask everyday I wake up, why, why was a chosen to be part of a coven with the both of you.”

Kaeya laughed and threw his arm around Diluc, “You do not wish to share a coven with me, my brother?”

“I will end you.”

Zhongli turned to Venti, “It’s been a long time, old friend.”

Venti grinned, “Likewise, old man.”

Zhongli just sighed in response. Barbatos, known as Venti, was considered one of the seven vampire lords on par with Rex Lapis. He never could figure out why a vampire lord could be so childish sometimes.

“Pardon me, am I interrupting?”

They looked up to see a girl, dressed in orange, lingering on the edge of the group.

Zhongli smiled, “Yanfei! Good to see you!”

“And you as well, my lord! I was just meeting your Blood Mistress! We had prepared in case she wanted to leave, but I’m happy to see that she had decided to stay.”

“I must thank you, Miss. Yanfei. You and your coven’s help was indispensable!” Neuvillette smiled.

“I’m glad that we could be of service!”

Yanfei was not a vampire. She was part of a witch coven. Zhongli, Neuvillette and Alhaitham had contacted her coven, consisting of her, Ganyu and Keqing, bringing you to their world. They were the highest and most powerful witch’s coven in the land.

Neuvillette and Yanfei had moved to the side, started talking quietly.

Childe turned to glare at Diluc, “Despite this being a formal affair, such an affair needs entertainment, don’t you think?

“You are like a dog with a bone.” the red-haired remarked, “First off, we have a set of magicians, who will be performing a magic show later and second, you should think of your Blood Mistress. If I kill you, how will she feel?”

Alhaitham sighed. This was precisely why he hated these gatherings. You get all the covens together, and you end up with this mess. He folded his arms, “Are we going to stand around trading barbs all night?”

“Why? You got something better to be doing? All you do is read! This is why your personality hasn’t developed! I see you still haven’t gotten any new hobbies since the old days.”

Alhaitham rolled his eyes at the group led by the blond, “I did not come here to get any form of opinions from you Kaveh! And I don’t need any new hobbies. I read, and I take care of my Blood Mistress, can you say the same?”

“You!” Kaveh groweld, “I will not have you insulting our Blood Mistress. Our coven takes care of her well enough!”

“Let’s leave our Blood Mistresses out of this fight?” Tighnari cautioned.

“You were the one to bring it up!” Kaveh snapped.

Cyno shook his head, “I cannot understand why you insist on picking a fight with Alhaitham every time you see him. Especially when you always lose.”

Kaveh growled, “Because every time I see him, I get angry all over again!”

“For what? Existing or paying my bills on time?!” Alhaitham snorted.

“We are vampires! Unlike mortals, we don’t have bills!”

“You still do! That debt is still lurking, the only hold over from when you were a human. Now that’s just sad. You are a vampire with indispensable power at your fingertips yet paying a simple bill is beyond you.”

“You act like you were never a human!”

“I never said I wasn’t, but I don’t have any outstanding debts either.”

“Did I really get dragged here for this?” a voice snapped.

Cyno glanced at the man behind them, “Do you want to disobey Lesser Lord Kusanali, one of the seven ancient vampire lords? Be my guest, but you will reap the consequences of such actions.”

Wanderer growled and looked off with a pout. They did not need to bring up Lesser Lord Kusanali to him! He knew what was owed to her. It was the Lesser Lord that saw value in his puppet-like status after being tossed aside Raiden Shogun, one of the seven ancient vampire lords. He still harbored hate, the one who was supposed to be his mother and would have eventually been driven mad because of it.

He was a failed puppet that was supposed to be a vampire like his mother creator, but was now currently a zombie. It was the vampire Lesser Lord that showed him that despite his status he still had worth and was even taken into the coven consisting of Kaveh, Tighnari and Cyno.

“Fine!” snapped Wanderer, “Kaveh, shut up!! I hear your loud voice every day, I do not suffer it over this den too.”

“Then go somewhere!” Kaveh snapped, “I’m trying to have a conversation here.”

Tighnari sighed, “That’s not what I hear happening.”

“This is enough. I’m done. Call me, when you idiots have something important to say.” Alhaitham growled before walking away from the group.

Wanderer unfolded his arms and turned to walk away, “He has the right idea. I’ll be over here. And don’t invoke Lesser Lord Kusanali either because I’m still here.”

Cyno rolled his eyes as Tighnari just sighed and held his head in his hands. Whose idea was it to gather all the covens together again? Childe and his coven just cackled at this. Neuvillette looked up from his conversation with a frown, as he watched Alhaitham migrate away. Well, he supposed it was better than him being in a book. While he didn’t mind, he wanted Alhaitham to be present today. But perhaps getting some distance from Kaveh was wise before it escalated.

Zhongli shook his head as he gazed coolly at Kaveh, “I see that the grudges of days pass has not been laid to rest.”

Kaveh smiled nervously, “You mistake me, my lord. I hold no grudge against your coven brother.”

“What would you call it then?”

“A difference of opinion.”

“Hmm…..”

Kaveh glanced nervously at Cyno and Tighnari who were more interested in suddenly watching the gathering of Blood Mistresses and Masters. You had laughed at something their own Blood Mistress had said. They smiled. If their own Blood Mistress could break through the barrier that was Wanderer, then becoming friends with you would be a piece of cake. Kaveh growled, finding no help among his coven brothers.

“So, if we are done with this foolishness, perhaps we should migrate over to our Blood Mistresses?” Diluc asked.

You gave a sigh as you slipped out into the night for a breath respite. You weren’t the most social of beings, and after a few hours your battery wasn’t doing too hot. You had gone to the restroom, but the garden invited you to gather a few more moments to yourself after you came out. You breathed as you looked up at the moon.

Everyone was currently staying at this compound until the night after tomorrow when they will all disperse. All the Blood Mistresses and Masters had decided to spend the day together, getting to know each other tomorrow. Hence, all the humans were going to retire early tonight. This was going to be the first time you spent with other people since you came to this world.

Although you were nervous, you were kinda of looking forward to it. Hu Tao’s Blood Master, was quite lively like her, and had already promised to take care of you. In addition to Kaveh’s coven Blood Mistress and you had already become fast friends, sharing much in common it seems. She seemed eager to put you at ease as well. You were a bit nervous around Childe’s coven Blood Mistress. You were a bit taken aback that the first thing she asked you, was if you could fight. You met Venti who was one of the Seven Vampire Lords like Rex Lapis. His coven’s Blood Mistress, was quite a bit friendly as well.

“So here you are.”

You turned with a smile to see Alhaitham leaning on the wall behind you.

“Sorry, I guess I got caught up.”

Alhaitham shook his head before coming to stand quietly beside you. The two of you stood for quite some time in companionable silence before:

“We sent you to get her, not join her.” Neuvillette spoke, his cane tapping lightly on the ground, followed by Zhongli.

Alhaitham folded his arms, “Do I look like a social butterfly to you?”

“We….” you stressed, “Do we look like social butterflies to you?”

Neuvillette forked an eyebrow, “You two say this as, if I am one. I’m not that good at socializing, even with our own kind.”

Zhonglik spoke, “I admit, sometimes, even I get lost.”

“No, you just go on long-winded tirades that no one asked for.” remarked Alhaitham.

Zhongli stared at Alhaitham, “I’m surprised to hear that from you. How often do you engage in conversation with me, thinking I can spit trivia on demand?”

“You’ve read most of the books of the library ten times over, as I have. It helps to have someone else speak on that knowledge. You can discover a new angle that way.”

“But you are proving my point, young one, and thus I shall repeat, I'm surprised to hear that from you.”

“I don’t mind the diatribes, but others may not always appreciate your…peculiarities.”

“Enough.” Neuvillette spoke, “Both of you have your faults.”

Alhaitham gave him the side-eye, “Like you don’t? You both made sure I did not have a book on me to be present in the conversations. Aside from Yanfei, I did not see you talking much either.”

“Miss. Yanfei and I discuss topics of a specific nature, not relating to most people, and we enjoy it.”

“I have read several law books, but I do not find them that interesting. They are hard, cold facts to memorize and move on.”

You raised your eyebrows silently at this. Law books were not the type of material you’d find to memorize and move on, much less understand them.

Neuvillette replied, “This is why I’m a Judge and you are not. You memorize the facts of law in the books, but do you know how to apply it? I think not. Miss. Yanfei understands the particulars and this lends to an engaging conversation. A conversation I had, unlike you. You barely spoke to anyone.”

“Don’t call me out, when Wanderer was doing the same.”

“Wanderer is not my coven brother, you are, and as such….”

The three blinked when they heard your giggle. They looked to see you had taken a seat and was watching them in amusement. The three shuffled once, remembering where they were.

Zhongli turned towards the door, “Well, come along. I hear that you and the other Mistresses and Masters will be retiring shortly. And it would be impolite to keep them waiting any longer. Especially since all of us disappeared.”

“And whose fault is that?” Alhaitham mumbled under this breath.

He got the full glare from both Zhongli and Neuvillette. But Alhaitham didn’t seem nervous instead, he suddenly became engrossed with the surroundings.

You stood with a smile, “Yes, we should probably return. However….”

They raised an eyebrow when you crooked a finger at them. Then they glanced at each other.

Through silent mutual decision, Zhongli stepped up first, “Something wrong, my dear?”

You reached up and planted a kiss on his cheek. He gave a warm smile, “Ah, how quaint.”

Then you turned to Neuvillette and did the same thing, followed by Alhaitham.

Neuvillette was looking away from you, “Thank you, ma cherie.”

Alhaitham just stared at you, his green-red eyes riveted on you.

With a small laugh, you bounded back inside. Whatever dark imagination this was, you hoped you’d never wake up.

• He'll only come and see you when you bring him food or call out he's name. and that was at like at least a few months into your relationship with him. The reason for this is because he doesn't want he's karma to affect you since your the only light he has.

• He only eats whatever you cook as he thinks their exceptional to he's taste. girl he actually thinks your cooking is delicious thats why lol

• He LOVES headpats and LOVES kisses on the forehead. FIGHT ME I DARE YOU🙂

i watched XOXO (Genshin Hoyofest music vid) the other day

and i now have brainworms about the Archons taking a vaycay, so let's talk about it.

Venti:

man's already taking an eternal vacation, he's only coming back when his people call in times of need

Zhongli:

man's retiring but no doubt he will obsess over if anything goes wrong in his nation (it's not rly his responsibility anymore tho) (and/or Hu Tao's safety (ig kinda is his responsibility?)). It will take the equivalent of the adepti, the Qixing and a very persistent Childe in order to drag him off on a break

Ei:

ummm i mean she has the Shogun so she's totally just gonna take vacations whenever suits her fancy, regardless of anything that happens around her (unless nation in distress ig)

Nahida:

overworking herself and reluctant to take a vacation out of a misplaced need to prove herself capable of running a nation (you don't need to compare yourself to your "past self" Nahida, you're plenty capable yourself!)

it takes multiple reassurances by aaalll the Sumeru allogenes, and Wanderer dragging her to a whole other nation on the other side of Teyvat (mebbe GAA?), in order for Nahida to finally relax and have a lot of fun on her time off. every once in a while, she might slip a little and start spiraling again, but big brother Scara is there to pull her out of it :)

Furina:

says she will happily take the vacation, but while on said vacation ends up worrying a lot about nation. constantly calls Neuvillette if everything is ok. poor guy has to reassure her multiple times, and it took Neuvillette all but going over there and bonking her on the head to convince her to try to relax

A little help

Ft. Zhongli

You sat nervously on the chair that was in front of a small desk as you awaited the boss who had told you that she will be getting someone who you assume would be your other boss for you will be working as an assistant in this somewhat happy but eerie place, it still gave you the chills at the thought of having to be working with ghosts here.

'The boss surely is too joyful for work like this,' you thought as you sweatdropped at her. 'Is she actually the boss or am I just talking with a kid? Well, she didn't judge my voice and I'm happy about that, she even listened as shyly I talked in a hushed tone,' you smiled but it quickly went away as you whipped your head in the direction of the sound of someone opening the door.

You straighten your back and quickly fixed yourself when you realized that it was the boss and stood up from your seat to greet them with a bow.

"I'm sorry to keep you waiting! Here he is, you will be working for him. He's a very nice guy but be aware, he loves to talk about things that I couldn't and wouldn't dare to understand." She whispered the last part at you with a cheeky grin. She leaned away from you and put both of her closed hands on her hips facing the tall man that she brought with her. "Zhongli, they will be your assistant from now on, so! I hope you two get along. They know what to do so you shouldn't be having a problem with helping her keep up with things here." pointing at you as she said this, she quickly turned around to get out of the office but before she opens the door she turns her head over her shoulder to take a look at you and the tall man who's name was 'Zhongli'. "Also! I already told you about them and their problem, so don't forget!" she opened the door, got out, and closed it.

Zhongli sighed as he slowly shook his head, "I can't with that child." he solemnly said.

He turned to face you and as he was about to introduce himself properly, the door busted open revealing none other than the boss, Hu tao.

"I almost forgot! Please show them around so she doesn't get lost!" she closed the door.

But open it, yet again, "YN, don't worry about Zhongli! He might seem intimidating but he doesn't bite so be comfortable with him!" and closed it.

"Oh! Zhongli-" but before she could finish, Zhongli slammed the door closed and Hu Tao left a confused noise but shrugged and left anyway.

"See what I mean?" Zhongli sighed again, slowly walking back away from the door and to you.

He cleared his throat and continues to where you were earlier. "My name is Zhongli, as to what you heard earlier. You will be my assistant since Hu Tao Insisted on me having one. Please, be comfortable with me, and I'm hoping we could get along well."

'Damn, he's quite straightforward,' you noted and took notice of the hand that was held in front of you asking to be shaken but slowly look back at his face. 'And he's handsome now that I get to take a good look at him, how old is he exactly?'

You heard him clear his throat cutting you off from your fantasy. You yelped and quickly shook his hand while saying your name in barely a whisper but you knew he heard.

"YN. That's a nice name, although you seem to be nervous when speaking fortunately I heard what you said. Are you perhaps shy or nervous? If that's so then don't be, as Hu Tao has said I won't bite." he smiled at you warmly causing you to feel a warm sensation in your chest.

"I'm... I'm sorry, I don't talk much to people for some reason," you mumbled quietly as you look down, avoiding his stare in what you can imagine held a judgemental gaze now that he has heard your voice.

When you heard nothing but deafening silence, you slowly look up at him only to find out that he was staring at you with wide eyes. You cowardly move back a little and looked down yet again.

"I..." having a slight problem forming your words. You held them shut instead.

You heard him mumble something to himself, he shook his head slowly and smiled.

"You have such a wonderful and melodic voice," he said keeping his gaze on you.

This is the first time you've heard a compliment about your voice, probably because everyone judges you about it.

You look at him with wide eyes, having a bit of confidence in you, "Really? You don't think my voice is demonic... As people told me so?" your heartache at the last statement but shrugged it away as you waited for his answer.

He nodded his head, still staring at you tho there is something that was held in his eyes and you aren't quite sure what but you didn't question it. "Yes, believe me. I wouldn't get tired just listening to your voice all day."

"Wow, for a man who loves telling stories non-stop and saying that is just unbelievable for me. " Hu Tao, who was there the entire time without the both of you noticing was munching a cheese, "Zhongli, you are so cheesy. Like this!" she held out the bitten cheese, her expression full of glee. "Oh! I forgot I have to do something. Bye-bye!" she giggled and went out.

Zhongli facepalmed and asked you to follow him out of the door Hu Tao went to his office.

He locked the door and told you to sit down in front of his desk. You did as told, already comfortable with him.

You smiled, "Thank you, " you said, keeping your eyes on him. "You were the first one to ever compliment me about my voice. Having you do that boosted my confidence to talk to you."

"Talking to me only isn't enough. If you don't mind, I would be glad to help you get rid of your insecurities."

You blushed a little as you felt butterflies erupt in your stomach; you nodded, happy to have someone there for you. "I don't mind, Mr. Zhongli. Thank you,"

Little do you know that that was just the start of your never-ending happy life with him.
