Speaking at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Martin Luther King Jr. Day earlier this week, Cheney urged listeners to not permit supporters of the former president to "prevail." The civil rights movement leader was baptized in the church.

"A former president refuses to acknowledge that he lost," Cheney said. "He threatens the foundations of our nation and everything Dr. King persevered to save."

The former Wyoming representative's speech came the same day that the former president dominated the Iowa caucuses. His nearest opponent, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, was within a double-digit margin of Trump.

A vice chair of the House Select Committee on the Jan. 6, 2021, Attack on the U.S. Capitol, Cheney has been a vocal critic of the former president and has repeatedly warned of the threat his potential reelection poses. She has teased a third-party bid herself.

Monday 9/25 Today we started at the Martin Luther King Jr National Historical Park in downtown Atlanta. This Park is across the street from the Ebenezer Baptist Church where Dr King preached and worked all his adult life.
