my brain is not on so i hope this makes sense but forced institutionalization of all kinds will never be leftist and it will always do harm like i know yall cryptolibs that get all your knowledge of leftism from memes and think you dont need to read any theory think some forms of institutionalization are ok but like. no they are not. the answer will always be compassion and rectifying the symptoms of society that, by current laws, forces someone into institutionalization in the first place. yes this includes psychiatric institutionalization. psych wards and institutions do very little to treat people, and in a lot of cases actually make them worse. youve never experienced psychiatric abuse and it fucking shows. have a nice day.

cant even believe i even need to say this but i do not fuck with you if you police what other people do with their bodies as long as its not hurting anyone, not very lefty hello kitty says acab of you bestie, and yes this includes whatever harmless and consensual kink or fetish you personally think is weird or gross or "immoral", so dont even try to "this, except for [X]" on this post, and it also includes any and all body mods and sex work as well as substance abuse, yall need to get a fucking grip and go outside if youre that pressed about what consenting adults do in private and/or to their own bodies. maybe take a break from posting communism memes and learn that policing peoples bodies in any way is never going to be leftist and yes it is that deep, if you need it explained why i think youve never actually read any theory and you learned all your "leftism" through quirky tumblr shitposts about daddy marx.

is it just me, or is people drawing wc characters with the palestinian flag or "x character supports palestine!!!!" super idk.... tone deaf? like a genocide is happening and thats your show of support? like that one firestar drawing, and i think some people reblogged being like "firestar would never support genocide!" like cmon yall. its the acab hello kitty thing all over again, but somehow worse
i've been avoiding mentioning this bc im sure it would put me on the spot/out my anon identity on this blog (bc lets be honest. there arent a whole lot of biracial palestinian/native american folks in this fandom), but i will be very honest with you:
a lot of us have actually been actively encouraging this. joy is resistance. zionists do not want us to exist, they do not want us to enjoy things, so we find joy in even the smallest places. it's why you've seen so many recent videos of palestinians enjoying time on the beach, or of palestinians dancing and laughing despite everything that has happened these past months. it is one of the few things that zionists cannot take away from us, and so we embrace joy whenever we are able to.
before they were destroyed, you could find many buildings with graffiti of beloved characters with palestinian flags/symbols, saying slogans of resistance, or even just wearing a keffiyeh. it was a very, very long time ago, but when i was in gaza city, my mother and i saw graffiti of snoopy standing with handala on one of the buildings
i do think people should do more than just draw pictures of characters vocalizing/showing support for palestine, like emailing/writing to their reps directly and pressuring them, boycotting, protesting, etc., but i do not believe that it is a bad thing to do so long as you understand what our symbols mean and don't use them to gain popularity.

remember how insane it was on the internet in summer of 2020 when all the riots and protest were happening amidst this deadly pandemic and people were LITERALLY being like if you DONT post about a dying black man on your instagram story or twitter then you are RACIST and committing a REAL HATE CRIME in this dire time and you HATE black people and love police. hashtag KILL COPS!! ACAB!! which then led to the most uninformed posts youve ever seen in your life made out of pure panic and guilt instead of like. yknow. anything else. it led to white teenagers on tiktok saying shit like hello kitty says acab!! (im not racist im not racist im not racist please pleas e) and you know i think a lot of those people have not progressed since then and still believe the height of activism is saying BLM ACAB in their bios bc then it makes them automatically “not racist” because thats what people (USUALLY WHITE PEOPLE) were telling you on the internet when this was all happening

i thought we had moved past the "hello kitty says ACAB!" bs from a few years ago. like i thought we all learned that, hey, thats disrespectful and out of touch actually. so whyd i just see a "hello kitty says free palestine!" on a youtube thumbnail (video had nothing to do with palestine) like idk maybe if you care about palestinians you could start with like. reading the room. or some critical thinking. both are free and relatively easy
