KIDNAPPING WENT WRONG

Luffy beamed as he heared Law through the other line of the den den mushi and nami covering her ears since luffy screamed near her ear.

"It is indeed rare for torao to call us since he always calls to look for you"

"Anyways whats the occassion torao?"

"Well I was about to tell you that we can literally see you here in an island 45 meters away"

After Law said that Nami wemt to look around the sea if she can spot the island Law was talking about and after minutes of looking she finally saw the said island he was talking about and told franky to go to the said island Law told her.

After 10 minutes they arrived and had Trafalgar sitting on the docks and was wearing a blue hawaiian shirt and yes of course unbuttoned...

"TORAOOO!"

"GEH MUGIWA-"

He didn't even finished his sentence when Luffy landed on him after he jumped from the thousand sunny.

"Oh? Law! What are you doing in thi–WOAH"

The moment they all wander their eyes on the said island their eyes and mouth went wide after they realized they are in an Hotel Island where all pirates are allowed to get rest and have fun on their lives.

Well the said island have types of inn the japanese ones and the modern type and the thousand sunny stopped in the docks near the japanese inns, plus its the cheaper and have the most stunning architectural design in the island.

It has even have public, private and personal hot baths inside the of the V.I.P rooms.

"AMAZINGG! EVERYONE LETS GO STAY FOR 3 DAYS HERE!"

"WAIT A MINUTE IDIOT WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH BERRIES TO STAY HERE!"

As Law was about to say something they heared familliar voices calling for luffy.

"MUGIWARA!!"

There they saw Boa running towards luffy and behind was eustass kid, and of course his last brother alive sabo.

"SABO!"

Luffy happily went to him with open arms and hugged him with all his might.

"YOU WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TO BE THIS CLINGY TO LUFFY?"

"O-Oi Boa calm down a bit that man whom you are talking to is–"

Boa went silent for a moment as the sentence literally caught her off guard.

"HUH? THEN WHY IS YOUR HAIR BLONDE? ARE YOU ADOPTED OR SOMETHING?!"

Before the commotion get into a more chaotic turn of events a male and female gyide came out from the japanese inns and warmly greeted them.

"Welcome our dear guests...this is the japanese inn of this island may we know first if did any of you booked a V.I.P room?"

They all looked at each other to know if there's someone who has the riches to book one...

"For the contrary we did not book one so maybe we can just have seperate rooms for men and women?"

"Of Course for the women please kindly follow me to your rooms and as for the males your rooms will be on the other side of his pavillion."

After that all of them went to their shared rooms.

"EHHH? WHY WOULD I FUCKING SHARE A ROOM WITH THESE TWO LOSERS"

"You guys....we haven't even sat down yet you two are already arguing"

Ussop sighed as they all put down their bag of clothes as Luffy and Kid had their foreheads as they attempt each other with a battle.

Nami who has her mother instincts aware quickly stopped zoro and sanji who was about to fight in the middle of a peaceful day and gave the two freshly hot bumps on their heads.

"By the way you guys go put on your swim trunks if you want to swim on the pool in the pool park its only 30 steps away from here."

"We will be heading out there first just go if ya'll want to swim but if you want to nap then just nap"

And after that Nami went outside with Robin and Chopper who was already wearing his trunks and surprisingly with Boa and her sisters.

After a few minutes they finally got into the water park as luffy went to jump on the pool with his watermelon design floaties while chopper's was orange and ussop having the lemon design one.

As for the others Nami, Robin, Koala and Carrot are playing beach volleyball with nami pairing with carrot and Robin pairing with Koala

"HERE YOU GO!"

Koala literally didn't controlled herself on hitting the ball and hitting it in an acute angle and it hit franky on his balls while he was roasting barbeque who was now in his knees in pain due to his balls getting hit two times in a row now.

On the other side of the pool there Eustass kid made a big splash and made Law all wet.

He made a water tower eustass kid 10x of his height and man got fucked and almost got drowned and other people who was just enjoying the pool got terrified of what the two did.

"STOP KILLING EACH OTHER YOU DUMB FUCKS THERE'S PEOPLE HERE SWIMMING TOO!" said the angry life guard

"Oh sorry about their childish behavior" killer apologized on their stead.

The life guard went back on his seat and there luffy who was just chilling on his floaties fell asleep got woken up because of the life guard screaming and remembered he must have fun in here and not sleep. So he stretched himself and ran towards them.

"OIII EVERYONE LETS ALL HAVE A SWIM!"

As Luffy was running he stretched out both of his arms and push everyone including himself on the wide pool causing a commotion to other guests who are also swimming there as well and even laughed at how silly these pirates are.

Little did they know someone was already watching Luffy on a Far Coconut tree with a den den mushi...

"heh...3 Billion bounty huh"

As time goes by noon has already passed and the sun is about to rest again and they all rose up from the pool and went to rest for a second and go back to their inns.

After getting into their inns the lady guide was back holding nice folded yukata's for them.

"Hello dear guests I would like for you all to go attend our fireworks display and the food stalls down there and here I brought you yukata's made with fine silk."

"Oh thank you! Sure we would want to go later"

The guide smiled and bowed them goodbye and left the yukata's on their rooms.

"Ahwhehdha going swimming really tired me out~" Luffy whined as he sluggishly laid on his futon and directly went to sleep after he was done showering and putting on his black muji pajamas and got blacked out in an instant.

Law went inside and was wearing the same muji pajama luffy was wearing which made them speechless.

"What are ya'll lookin at?"

"You're strong enough to show this to sabo huh"

There sabo was already has his killing intent on

Luffy went to look at trafalgar for a moment and turn his head back to sabo.

Luffy tilted his head in confusion as trafalgar smirked and kissed his temple.

Luffy stared at him for a few seconds and ket out a cute smile.

They all went to take a quick shower one by one and wear yukata's while Law and Luffy are waiting for them outside.

"Eat slowly mugiwara-ya no one would steal your food" Law wiped the left over sauce on his cheeks as luffy happily eat takoyaki.

"I'm just hungry we didn't ate after we got back..it explains why I was drowsy"

"Mhm"

Law leaned down and kissed Luffy's nose bridge and Luffy gave him a sweet smile as he ate the last takoyaki and law who was holding the tissues wipe off the sauce on the corner of Luffy's mouth.

"Thank you~"

"Mhm welcome"

"Ah! I remember now..."

"Remember what?"

"You didn't gave me a kiss earlier when I greeted you!"

"Well to be fair your fans are dying to see you plus you got teary eyed after seeing your brother once again"

Law scoffed and pulled his waist and lifted his strawhat and gave him a sweet peck on the lips.

Luffy shook his head no and was anticipating for more..and Law laughed and finally give him what he wants.

"You guys really have the audacity to do that in front of me and make me feel single?"

Law pulled away from the kiss the moment he heard Ussop.

"Whyyyy you're just jeal–OW" Luffy teased but got stopped as Ussop hit him on the back of his head.

Law for real went beet red after getting caught kissing.

After Ussop arrived they all arrived one by one and the last one to arrive is Sanji since this man showers the longest.

"YOU SHITTY COOK ARE YOU JERKING ON THE SHWOER BEFORE TAKING ONE?"

"I DON'T YOU RETARD I JUST APPLIED SKIN CARE NAMI-SAN GAVE ON MY BIRTHDAY!"

They all nodded at once and officially went down the stone stairs and reached on the market of food stalls and mini games.

"HEYYY EVERYONEEE!!!!" nami waved at them so they sould go to their direction.

The moments they arrived they all sat on the mat...they felt like something was wrong.

"Is it just me or its just too quiet?"

Luffy ran around every stall and was amazed because it was his first time seeing something like this after their visit to wano and even participated to mini games and won all of the grand prizes but as he was finished exploring all stalls he turn around and he couldn't find them anymore.

"Eh? Did I got lost again?"

All he can see is faces he didn't knew and was now confused on what to do.

"Where should I find them?" He said as he scratched the back of his head.

"Are you lost young man? You seemed troubled?" An unknown woman asked

"Ahh yes I'm finding my friends! Did you see them?"

"What do they look like? Maybe explain a bit more further?"

The moments Luffy look at the stranger a tranquilazer shot was shot at his neck and he lost his balance as he tried not to lose his conciousness.

"Y-YOU BITCH"

"come and help me carry this boy back to the camp..."

"He will be the greatest sacrifice for the Gods"

They left carrying an unconcious luffy away from the crown of people as her apprentice carried luffy like a sack as he was bough with them in the dark.

In Trafalgar's case he also got lost on the crowd for finding luffy as he slipped and lost his sight of him in just a minute.

"MUGIWARA-YA!"

"MUGIWARA-YA! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

"MUGIWARA-YAAA!"

He ran from stalls to another that he knew luffy will find interesting but found nothing.

Instead he found a bag full of the grand prizes of each stalls he just went to and exactly knew this was luffy's doing.

Suddenly he remembered he gave Ussop and Luffy a den den mushi before they all went to go here so he tried contacting luffy's den den mushi but no answer.

"Fuck..Mugiwara-ya where the fuck are you at?"

He decided to hide luffy's bag in one of the bushes and went to soar through the dark to find luffy.

*BACK TO OTHERS*

"WHAT!? LUFFY/SENPAI IS MISSING?!"

both boa and bartolomeo who just recently joined the team with his crew was shocked to know that Luffy and Trafalgar Law was missing.

"Yes because if luffy will be going off to his own he will sometimes say it or sometimes follow his intrusive thoughts without saying anything."

"Those two guides who was with us earlier and the ones who even gave us this yukatas"

"I was informed earlier while we are resting on the pool a personel told me that there are no such thing as guides here sice these inns are self served"

"Then...you mean...those girl and the man she was with earlier are not part of the staffs?"

"It seemed so..."

Suddenly a den den mushi can be heared inside ussop's yukata.

"OH I REMEMBER LAW GAVE THIS TO ME AND LUFFY IN CASE WE GOT LOST."

He quickly answered the den den mushi and was greeted by trafalgar's pants.

"YOU ASSHOLE WHERE ARE YOU TW–"

"Nose-ya listen up to what will I say.."

They all went quiet to listen what will he say.

"If you are with everyone I need back up..mugiwara-ya got kidnapped by an unknown cult and was about to get offered by their said Gods.."

"T-There's too many of us here how many of us do you want to come as back up?"

"All of his crew except the women but tell robin to listen and sabo is enough"

"Okay okay we will be on our way then"

"Okay if you see a firework stall go behind there and you'll see a pathway to where I am right now"

He hung up the call and they quickly went to go save luffy for getting sacrificed.

Luffy woke up feeling sluggish and weak and realized he was wrapped with sea prism stone chain as he tried to move inside a small bowl

"W-What? Where am I? Where is everyone?"

"WHO ARE YOU!? WHY DID YOU CHAINED ME UP? WHAT IS THIS?"

"Ugh you just woke up and was already this noisy"

"Well we want you as a sacrifice to our Gods tonight since devil fruit users will make them strong!"

The woman just scoffed and went to go back and will re-visit him again.

After a few minutes Ussop, Zoro, Sanji, Chopper and Sabo managed to find the stall Law told them and saw luffy's bag and Law came out from the bush.

"You guys just came in time but why only four of you?"

"Well killer wanted eustass to come but eustass insisted since his mechanical arm squeaks so it will be a nuisance and as for brook and franky they stayed to protect them incased their back up come up" Sanji explained as he lighted his cigarette.

"What in the hell happened first?" Sabo asked getting concerned for his little brother's sake

"I don't have the time to explain so come follow me and save mugiwara-ya"

They all nodded and followed Law as they entered a secret underground base and quietly sneaked inside and saw luffy in the center of their stage being wrapped in a chain full of sea prism stone and was throwing a fit but he seemed to be silenced.

"Oho? His saviors are here"

"HOW THE HELL DID YOU FOUND ABOUT OUR RAID?!"

"My assistant here has keen hearing so he told me that there are people approaching"

"YOU OLD HAG"

"I'M NOT AN OLD HAG WATCH YOUR MOUTH YOU TWAT!"

There the woman got electrified and quickly raised the white flag.

after this they peacefully got out from the cave as luffy went to his normal self.

There earthland started rising and Law started covering the entrance of the cave as he smirked after.

"So? Do I look like I care? Plus they tried to kill your captain and sacrifice him on a non-existent God"

They went silent as Law went to check up on luffy.

Sabo be covering Chopper's eyes are they all let out fake gagged noises. And of course sabo restraining himself to kill Law right there right now.

Law broke off the kiss as looked back at luffy.

Law who was very introvert as hell felt so bold right now and even hugged luffy possesively on his grasp.

As they are about to get more confused when the firework display started and colorful fireworks displayed the dull sky.

10. Could you be best friends with this character?

Oh gosh definitely not, it's like asking if celebrities could be best friends with their fans and I would be that fan worshiping her and having fan pages dedicated to her so definitely not

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

Oh my gosh I actually have a lot hehe

1-One headcanon I have is I think she has a really cute sneeze no matter in what situation, she can't control it and the worst part is it's not expected of her since she's serious most of the time, so she tries not to sneeze in front of people whom she doesn't want to look at her differently, especially enemies, but terribly fails in front of long-term friends and people she sees and visits often like Gauche, Haruto and Kaito.

2-I personally do not believe she's from Spartan City and the idea Mr. Heartland travelled that far from Heartland City to Italy to pick up orphaned children, and Gauche himself says the city they were born in was “terrible” and did not mention Spartan City by name. Even looking at the flashback, just looking at the surroundings it feels the buildings are a bit modernised, more like the outskirts of Heartland City. Gauche and Droite probably travelled to Spartan City due to the Championships being held there and they just travel around living in hotels and don't have a permanent home yet except Heartland City, but I really like the idea of her and Gauche sharing some Italian ancestry and connections to that place I just like the idea of them being Italian since I grew up in Italy. I like to imagine Droite's innate Italian spirit being stereotypically Italian that hates food crimes such as pineapple and fruits on pizza or ruining pasta, she's very defensive of that and even more so after staying in Spartan City in those couple of months. Never show her a Hawaiian pizza ever or she’ll get crazier than how Chris is when he teaches dueling. Haruto found out the hard way and he will never ruin pasta in front of an Italian ever again.

3-Droite is good at many things, but drawing is not one of them. As an orphan who was living in the streets she never really got the practice as a child, and once she was picked up by Mr. Heartland, art wasn't really a big focus in her studies, especially during training. She's insecure about that especially in front of people like Kaito where he needs to make detailed geometry and references in order to build something, she's bad at anything that requires art, whether it is a flower or an architecture. She tries to hide that though.

4-Just as drawing, she's really bad at whistling, she can't whistle for her life, just imagine Haruto trying to teach Droite how to whistle the same he learned from his brother so adorableee 😭💞

5-Droite is incredibly good at board games like chess or Go, she's good at any game that requires and tests one’s ability to think critically and defeat the opponent completely unnoticed, it's just one of those fields where she's almost unbeatable. She's so good that it rivals Chris. She has incredible muscle memory compared to the average and can play chess while blindfolded.

14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.

I think she's a Chic Modernist

with the colour scheme of Barbiecore with the pink, grey, purple and white combination

I would absolutely love her to wear darker colours since her normal outing dress is too much pink for my taste, she would kill it in black the ones with nets, and outfits with corset!!!

She already wears a huge belt in canon which kind of acts as a corset

I can also imagine her having a light textile dress like this one

in an open field filled with flowers and butterflies near a seashore - this is not too far of as the first one is the same as her regular outing fit if you remove this

And the second photo is similar to her nightgown

I think for Droite the animators wanted to fit her dress to match the colour scheme of her hair but I think she would rock so many other colours than pink, grey, white and purple/violet combination.

Uniforms in Kinnporsche

(or as @missing-tony put it “what’s up with the minor family and hawaiian shirts?”)

Hawaiian shirts are an alternative to formal wear, to start with. In the context of Kinnporsche, it’s in direct opposition to the main family whom we’ve seen in suits when on duty, and even when relaxing, Kinn and Korn are always wearing preppy clothes. They look put together and display their social status that way.

More specifically, Hawaiian shirts are an opposition to conventional culture and symbolizes consumerism and colonialist oppression. Now I am not the most qualified to talk about history and colonialism but it was obvious while watching Kinnporsche, from the furniture to the architecture, that the main family operates in post-colonialism decor, which is both a sign of wealth and status.

Once again, while the main family is deeply attached to tradition and their ancestors (see the more traditional looking garden and the tower), they’re the epitome of capitalism. They’re involved in many business ventures (hotels, casinos, companies) and familiar with extremely modern technology.

Their employees have access to a gym, a pools, a gun range and cafeterias. It's very big company-like, many fans joke that it feels like watching a rom-com centered around the daily life in an office for some kind of start-up rather than the mafia!

The only “sign” that they’re not totally on brand with capitalism and the influence of the western world is that 1) Kinn speaks functional English, not idiomatic and 2) they have a conflict of interest with both the Italian and the Russian mafia.

To sum it up, the main family works with capitalism and benefits from it, at the risk of losing some of their traditions. However, they’re still the product of such traditions and actively partaking in spiritual aspects their culture. The main family aims to establish itself as the one in power in Thailand, and to which other criminal networks must submit.

On the other side, we have the minor family, which obviously is in conflict with the main family and wants to one up it. They’re much more openly in touch with Thai culture (see their headquarters and safehouse, the architecture appears more traditional), they’re close to the people, live together as a community, eat meals together like a family…

They don’t look professional. They look like street thugs for the most part and even when they do dress up, it’s not a fashion show like Kinn’s incredible ombre suit (thank for that, Kinn). Gun's suit looks unconventional, the colors are not what you’d call chic, more like tacky, it’s old-fashioned… Even for the final showdown, Gun shows up looking like he just stepped off his yacht! Vegas shows up in white at the auction when no one else does…

The minor family defies conventions.

The colorful elements in Hawaiian prints could suggest unity in perceived diversity, which applies specifically to the minor family. It’s all about appearances, yet Porsche immediately feels uneasy among them. It’s performative, and he’s not sitting at a table with friends when he stays at the minor family’s, he’s surrounded by people he can't trust. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer rings true in this environment.

In opposition, the main family does have a uniform in the shape of the suits, everyone looks the same and is identified (with the pin) as part of the main family. Don’t take me wrong, in both cases the bodyguards/enforcers are expendable, but the main family maintains the illusion of belonging a lot more than the minor family, where people just seem “associated with” rather than “part of”.

Hawaiian prints in this context call attention to themselves while appearing seemingly innocent. Rather than wearing a formal suit like the main family (you know they’re here for business and they’re dangerous), the minor family favors a more comfortable outfit that fits the climate better and is also associated with laid-back lifestyles. I'm sure it gives them freedom of movement as well as the appearance of freedom. They’re not doing their jobs, they’re living their best life (or so they seem to imply). It’s all fun and games, you can underestimate them (at your own risk).

I’ll not delve into the problematic aspect of such associations in this post, but Indigenous Hawaiian designers have reclaimed Hawaiian prints — called aloha shirts in Hawaii — and are working hard to inject aloha prints with authenticity and make them a symbol of tolerance rather than all of the above.

It also reminds me of what minor Yakuzas might wear in pop culture and considering the corresponding print and shirt in Japanese culture is associated with tourism, I think the same analysis applies.

Excerpt from an old fic...

He was sitting on the Marina barge looking out onto the water. His feet were dangling off the edge, the ocean's current gently moving his legs. The tide was low at this hour, his eyes caught the sight of the surrounding boats bobbing from the low current. The sun was past the mid afternoon hour falling towards the late afternoon. His eyes skimmed the ocean's horizon; she would be coming in soon.

It had been a few months since the dream incident, the same dream that troubled him during his sleepless nights. Images flashed in his mind; a distant place in another time, a grand architectural palace along the rocky shoreline, a magnificent arena housing games, a temple housing statues of gods and heroes. He could still smell the salty air. Another flashed of a female child running through gardens, a stunning woman with soft brown eyes staring at him from her seat on the fountain, the same woman turning towards him in the forest's river, her nude form glistening in the moonlight… More and more of that same woman flashed through his memory making his heart race; she captivated him. His mind was unlocking more and more of the dream as the days passed, to which he attributed to Jenni's hand. Her memory had been unlocking as well; there were days where she was happy to see him and others where he was not sure if he himself did something, or his dream self was to blame…

Her boat was sailing into the Marina, Gantu could smell the lavender traveling through the island's wind. The vessel, obviously a small charter with odd earth science equipment, was built with two decks. Up at the top he could see the Professor who Jenni raved about steering the boat and other earthlings tending to the lower deck. And there she was, right at the bow on the starboard side wearing her dark purple diving suit, sitting while the wind whipped through her tied up hair. If he remembered correctly, she called it a horse's tail…

"'Oi! Mr. Gantoo!" He heard the Professor call out to him from the Captain's deck as the charter boat cruised into its spot in the Marina. He was a thin man with a balding head, glasses, and wearing his signature Hawaiian shirt and shorts with sandals. The big alien always shook his head whenever he met this man; he was one odd earthling. Brilliant, but odd.

"It's Gantu, Dr. Buffett." The big alien waved back seeing the other earthlings scrambling on deck to secure the ship in its 'parking spot.' Jenni was one of those earthlings.

"Oi, you were right about that humpback pod that keeps reappearing around the island." Dr. Buffett had made his way from the boat onto the Marina barge where Gantu was sitting. There was a big smile on his face. "That cove is a nursery. I've never seen so many calves before in my life! The mothers dive in open waters as the calves stay protected in the cove. You Samoans know your whales." He heard the Professor laugh, to which he joined lightly.

"It's a gift." Gantu caught a purple figure shaking her head.

"It's a gift alright, Big G." He heard her voice jest as Jenni made her way over to them. She was tugging at the back of her dark purple wetsuit, and retying her long brown hair into sleek pony tail. "There must've been 6 calves with their mothers patrolling the cove's coast. And they sing, all of them sing to each other. Truly incredible." She stared up at him flashing a smile. "Thanks again for the tip. What brings you down to the Marina, Sharkman?" By the way she smiled at him, Gantu felt his snout become hot.

"Oh, I'd-I was in the neighborhood." He was able to fumble out before regaining his composure. "I took today off from my work and… and thought I would enjoy the sights…" Gantu sighed, his mouth lying for him when his mind knew the real reason he was there. He just did not want to admit it.

"Being called again, huh?" He watched the Human female stare at him inquisitively, her brown eyes darting around his being. He felt the sigh escape him.

"Yes, but the headache that usually comes after I find my way to this Ocean was shorter this time."

"And it's all instinctive," Gantu could hear the curiosity in her voice. "Without even knowing it, you walk yourself to the Ocean every time you leave your space—apartment…" He shot her a dark look as Jenni made a quick cover up; the color in her cheeks vanished as there was a pause between all three of them. He was grateful when it seemed Professor Buffett did not take notice to Jenni's slip up. That was all he needed; that wacky professor questioning him more.

"Sounds to me like you are suffering from one serious condition, Mr. Gantu." The Sharkman turned his attention to the Professor, watching the thin man hop aboard the research boat and rummage around.

"What is that, exactly?" He was beginning to feel a cold sweat start. What was this earthling searching for? And what serious condition did he have?

"Seems to me, Mr. Gantu, you are suffering from what is known as the Sailor's Call." Gantu continued to listen as the odd Human pulled up a red cooler rummaging inside it. "You see, the Ocean is a siren. She is the great Temptress which calls to all men, the great Mermaid who sings her songs of life and freedom and adventure, and of course, the great Life Giver of food and balance. And just as the Ocean Goddess sings her songs for all to hear, we mortal men heed her call and follow. Every man has heard the Sailor's Call, following blindly into uncharted waters in hopes of pleasing the great Goddess, and fearing her wrath. We all hear her song, Mr. Gantu. You have heard her before." Dr. Buffett was giving him a knowing glance which almost made Gantu break out in a cold sweat. His mind flashed to when he was younger in his academy days; he just had his first taste of the new battle starship, Triple V Class, in the Horsehead Nebula. He remembered the sight outside the panoramic viewport; a vast scene of a black ocean shimmering with stars and colorful gases engulfing him. Memories of the excitement he felt, the adrenaline rush as he piloted through the uncharted space, the awareness of himself in the peaceful emptiness of star clusters… the ass kicking he got from his Commander for going off course… It was so worth it.

"Siren, Temptress, Mermaid, Goddess, whatever fellow sailors like ourselves call her," Dr. Buffett continued slicing a small green fruit and placing its juices inside a light amber colored liquid bottle. "We all listen to her enchanting melodies carried by the wind and venture out seeking the riches and legends her tales weave. We watch the horizon, waiting patiently for her to appear. And when she does, Mr. Gantu, that's when we know we have finally met our first great love." The Sharkman watched the green lime fruit float inside the clear glass bottle which was handed to him by the Professor. The Human's words swum around Gantu's head the more he let his mind go. His eyes fell onto the small figure standing next to him; She appeared to be staring at Dr. Buffett as he continued to talk, her warm brown eyes watching him intensely. She was transfixed in thought to his words, and Gantu could not help himself but become lost in his own mind. His eyes found themselves following the curves of her face, the sunlight illuminating her long brown hair, her island kissed skin, her intoxicating lavender scent filling his lungs… following the curves of her… bottom…

Gantu shook his head, trying to erase the thought from his mind. Blood rushing to his snout, Gantu could not believe his mind dared to think those thoughts of the Human. Blitznak, oh double, triple Blitznak! What was wrong with him? Thoughts like these had not entered his mind since… well a long time ago. This was Jenni, the little earth punk; she was just a human he had somewhat befriended on his stay of this pitiful island. She was a native of this planet. He was just a visitor from another world… not belonging to this small, primitive planet. She was a primitive Human. He was an Aquarian, member of a proud ancient race. She was on the opposite side anyway, on that little earth girl's side fighting against Hamsterviel's grasp on the experiments… on that blasted 626's side… And He, Gantu… was on the other side.

"Sharkman?" The sound of her soft feminine voice reached his ears. Gantu brought his attention to the earthling watching him with cautious eyes.

"Hmm?" Gantu caught Jenni raising her eyebrow at him and shot him a dirty look. Whenever she was annoyed or pissed at him, that puny earthling always gave him that look…

"You alright there, Gantu?" A small coy smile spread on Jenni's lips as Gantu gave her a look over. "Dr. Buffett asked if you're nursing your Corona." She gave a playful light laugh as Gantu felt his thoughts swirl around in his head. He made a quick glance down at the bottle in his hand. The thick smell reached his nose; Beer. This was something else he came to the realization of both other worldly travelers like himself and Humans shared in common. Beer. The big alien brought the tiny bottle to his mouth and let the small amount of liquid fall onto his tongue. It barely wet half his tongue. Oh well, Gantu placed the bottle on the barge, he had beer his size back on his ship…

"Nursing it, punk." He flashed a toothy smile down at Jenni, watching her reaction of sticking her tongue out at him.

"You two remind me of myself and my wife." Dr. Buffett laughed opening another beer bottle and handing it to Gantu. "When I first met my wife, she and I were competing for a job as lead marine biologist for a local research vessel. It started out as friendly competition, and then escalated to a rivalry to the point we were almost throwing each other overboard. It wasn't until she actually fell overboard and I fished her out that I really began to admire her determination, and well, her beauty. I began searching for another position in the company, and asked her out to dinner. The rest, as they say, is history."

It was then that he heard Jenni laugh. It was not her normal laugh he was used to, but she was laughing nonetheless. He thought there was a bright red flush on her cheeks, just under her sun kissed skin…

"Sounds like your mate is a very lucky woman, Dr. Buffett," Gantu tried to deflect his own unease at the human's comment, noticing Jenni's sudden relaxed composure. But a tiny voice inside him knew that was a load of blitz… In the pit of his stomach, he could feel that light fluttery sensation growing—He needed to push that away.

"More like I am a lucky man, my friend." Dr. Buffett began to sip his beer. "Just wait till you find that woman who makes you happy, angry, light-hearted, frustrated, nervous and horny all at the same time." The Professor laughed at the end till Gantu could not help but laugh himself at the hilarity of his statement. Odd Human indeed. Right, but odd.

"I'll take your word on that, Doc." The Sharkman brought the drop of beer to his tongue, and took notice to the sudden disappearance of the lavender scent. Red-faced and looking bothered, Jenni had moved onto the boat grabbing her duffle bag. Gantu could see her fluster.

"You guys are ridiculous." She hopped off the ship giving both men one last look over. "I gotta get back to the lab with our samples, Professor, who knows how long you'll have me there for."

"Just the basics for tonight, Jen," Dr. Buffett gave her a light wave. "I'm shutting lab down early tonight, it's Friday night." Gantu watched the smile grow on the Professor's face. "Me and the Mrs are having a party." To this the big Alien felt himself smile.

"It's 5 o'clock somewhere, right?" He was surprised by the reaction he got from the Odd Human.

"It's 5 o'clock now, time to party!" Gantu watched the Professor do some sort of odd jig to which the alien was not sure he wanted to be seen with the man…

"I'm heading out, boys, some of us have work to do~!" Jenni's voice reached his ears as he saw her waving up to him. "See you around, Sharkman." The fluttering feeling in the pit of his stomach was rising again; Gantu gave a small smile waving back watching her make her way out of the marina.

"S-see you around, earth punk…" His eyes never stopped following her until Jenni got into her black jeep and drove off, disappearing onto the main road. He did not notice the Professor had been watching him until he turned back towards the Marina's seaside front. The odd human happened to be rubbing his chin raising an eyebrow.

"Interesting…" Gantu felt a shot of unease erupt from his stomach, it was enough to make cold sweat form on his brow.

"What's interesting, Doc?" Gantu felt his deep voice soften from his natural bass tone. Oh Blitznak…

"Just an observation." Before Gantu's mind could form an explanation, Dr. Buffett was reaching deep into his pockets pulling out a circular object. It was small, black, with many numbers around the circumference and a red needle pointing out towards the sea. He recognized it immediately. "Here, a little gift from me to you." Dr. Buffett had his arm outstretched towards him with the small compass in his hand. As gently as he could, the Sharkman picked it up with his large fingers bringing it up to his gaze. "It's my thanks to you for your help with our research. And something my old man taught me." Gantu took notice to the seriousness of the Professor's demeanor, listening to his every word.

"There are moments in our lives where we loose ourselves; and when we are lost and in our darkest hour, it only takes one thing," Dr. Buffett paused his eyes connecting with Gantu's. "One thing to hold on to as we make the journey home. All you have to do is take that step forward to find your reason for traveling home." The Professor had hopped out of the charter vessel onto the dock with the rest of his belongings. He started making his way past a quiet Alien, when he turned to look at the Sharkman one more time.

"Be careful with her, she's very precious to me." Gantu felt his eyes widen almost feeling embarrassed about the speech he was given.

"Of course, Professor." He tried to flash a nervous smile. "Thank you… for the gift." With a sly smirk, the brilliantly odd human Professor shook his head and said the statement which made Gantu's heart skip a beat.

"I wasn't talking about the compass, Mr. Gantu. Have a good night."
