Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
Produced for only one year in the '70s, Blythe is a moony waif of a doll coveted by a growing group of devoted fans. Photographer Gina Garan fell to Blythe's charms and unusual looks years ago and has shot her in settings around the world, from Greece to Soho to Hooters. Hilarious, mesmerizing, and just a little spooky, This Is Blythe is the result of Garan's offbeat passion and a photography book like no other. Here's mod Blythe pacing through an art gallery; a pensive Blythe in a tiny blue fur parka, the sun flaring orange behind her; Blythe emerging from a block of ice. Is that Blythe telling her Christmas wishes to Santa Claus? Like stills for a film that hasn't happened (yet?), these undeniably beautiful photographs create an entire world from each flawless frame.

. . “This is dedicated to my friend CC Borisovich, no longer with us. As we all know, CC was quite a character! Ok, so I''m gonna pull a few tales out of the vault. Some of my favorites: Her story about her sister, Tempest (Bledsoe), finding out her real name when we went to get her passport, oh god! Listening to her stories about growing up in a castle in Germany. LONG nights listening to The Carpenters in Ted's kitchen ... but the most moving of all, CC came to my parents house for holidays. She sent a sweet note to my mom after our last christmas together but strangely, it got lost in the mail and wasn't received until a few weeks after she passed away. It was VERY much in keeping with CC's ways. You never quite knew what she was up to! What to believe! And to be honest, it's what made her even more charming. I saw her the day before she died, and we curled up in her hospital bed and sang Carpenter songs. We had one very funny laugh together and that was that. I miss her so much” — by Gina Garan @ginagaran . . “CC ... where to begin? We lived together for some time so I’m just going to stream of consciousness some memories, ok LADE? Paige, working at American Express by day somehow getting away with completely on the gender line hair styles and looks. Helen Ready, ABBA, Carpenters fanatic! The MOST precious sincere smile. The smell of Nair in my apartment which would make me gag. The time she tiled my kitchen floor. Her voice and laughter — like it was yesterday. The fact that she would cut out and save every drawing I did in print — uh oh that one makes me tear up. CC would make up outrageous lies but no one really cared because it was clear that she didn’t have a malicious bone in her body. CC was a true friend, truly sweet so warm and loving. I regret not being there for her in the end. CC hid her illness from most of us. I wish I would have made more of an effort to find her. I think of CC often. Hey ladyyy I love and miss you!” — by Tobie Giddio @tobiegiddio . #whatisrememberedlives #theaidsmemorial #aidsmemorial #neverforget #endaids .

I was today old when I realised Korn used a Blythe doll in their album artwork for their self titled album and the single for Blind. 1994 - pre Gina Garan's work and Takara's rerelease, this girl's an original '72 Kenner. Wonder if Korn ever want to pop round and play dolls? #dork #blythe #blythedoll #kennerblythe #korn https://www.instagram.com/p/CGN6hWZHOwK/?igshid=80dih9bnvv3j
