#561 Butler heroics give RR 2 wins in a row; Pant plays innings of IPL but SRH still win with 7 balls to spare; RCB just cant win a close match this season;KL Rahul in sensational form; Nadal wins historic 50 consecutive sets in clay but gets knocked out in Madrid open QF by Thiem; City and Barca are a step closer to history in their respective leagues and more...:-)
Tumblr media
La Liga and EPL winners have been decided long time back. But Barcelona and Man City had chance to recreate history. Barcelona has chance of staying unbeaten in entire La Liga season. Only Real Madrid had done that in 1931-32 season but only 18 matches were played back then. Barca had won 26 matches and had drawn 5. They continued unbeaten run with 5-1 win over Villreal. 2 more matches to go. Chelsea had record of maximum points of 95 in 2004 season. Mancity were at 94 points with 2 matches to go. They easily beat Brighton 3-1 to make record their own. They would have chance coming weekend against Southampton reach a century point which has never been achieved in EPL history.
In Madrid Open, Nadal reached QF without losing a set. He thereby won 50 sets in a row. He surpassed 49 sets in a row won by Mconroe who won it in carpet 36 years back. He thereby won 21 matches in a row. He faced Thiem in QF. Thiem had beaten Nadal twice in clay which is a record not too many boast of. He troubled Nadal again. He broke and even served for the set at 5-4. Nadal broke back. Thiem broke back again to lead 6-5. Thiem won the set 7-5. Nadal sequence of maximum of set won ends at 50. It has been one hell of a run. Good that he is getting tested before French open. Both traded breaks in 2nd set before Thiem won it 6-3. Nadal’s backhand and serve was poor. He got his reality check before French open. Thiem thereby has become only 4th player other than Djokovic , Murray and Federer to beat Nadal 3 times in clay. In other QF, Anderson Beat Lajovic in 3 sets
SRH hosted RCB in Hyderabad. RCB had to win all the games to stay in contention. SRH were well placed at 112-3 in 16 overs. Finally some good death bowling restricted SRH to just 146. They lost 7 wickets in last 25 balls. Southee and Siraj both grabbed 3 wickets each. Williamson starred with another fifty. In response, after early dismissal of Parthiv, Kohli took charge. He and Manan took RCB to 60-1 in 7 overs. Manan got castled in unlucky fashion. RCB lost way as expected. Shakib and Rashid dismissed Kohli and ABD to reduce RCb to 80-4. 67 was needed of 56 balls. Ali didn’t make impact. Graandhomme and Mandeep tried hard to take it close. Grandhomme hit 2 sixes to reduce target to 26 of 21 balls. It came down to 25 of last 3 overs. But sensational death bowling by Kaul and Bhuvi gave SRH another win. RCb needed 1 big hit but didn’t get it. They didn’t score a boundary of last 15 balls. Bhuvi and Kaul bowled series of Yorkers and accurate slow balls. No length balls was bowled. SRH won by 5 runs. RCb is out of contention of playoff along with DD.
Rajasthan faced Punjab twice in 3 days. Butler’s 82 ensured RR had decent total of 158. Gowtham dismissed Gayle and Ashwin early. Rahul played a lone hand with brilliant 95* but didn’t get any support from other end. Good death bowling by Unadkat and Stokes gave RR their 4th win. They need to win all remaining 4 games. Ish Sodhi was the star today for RR with 1-14 of 4 overs. Slow pitch helped him.
MI made a mockery of KKR team in Eden Garden. Ishan Kishan scored a brilliant 62 of 27 balls tove MI a massive 210-6. 132 runs came of last 10 overs. KKR were never in the game as they bundled out for 108. Pant played innings of his life and innings of this year’s IPL to give DD a good total of 187-5. He hit 128 of 63 balls. He hit 7 sixes and 15 fours. 102 runs came just of boundaries. That sensational. He hit 43 runs of 11 death bowls bowled by Bhuvi. That was just out of this world. HV Patel trapped Hales plumb to give DD hope. But Williamson and Dhawan never allowed DD to settle down. They scored 10+ runs of almost every over. They won with 7 balls to spare. Dhawan hit 92 of 50 balls. Williamson hit 83 of 53. SRH are on a roll and just can’t lose at this current form.
CSK started brilliantly against RR. They were 105-2 in 12th over. Watson and Raina were making merry of poor RR bowling. Archer and Sodhi brought RR back by dismissing both. CSK 119-3 in 13 overs. CSK struggled towards the end as they just managed 176-4. Had Raina or Watson stayed till end, 190 was on cards. Dhoni was good again with 33 from 23 balls. Butler opened with Stokes. Butler was in scintillating form. He scored 22 runs before even Stokes could open his account. He was on a roll. Stokes was struggling. He had 48 run stand in 4 overs with Butler. Rahane got dismissed soon after by Jadeja. Samosn gave Butler Company. They reached 85-2 in 9 overs. Butler had scored 56 of those. RR lost wickets in a hurry after that. Samson and Chopra got out soon after. RR 109-4 in 13th ver. Cameos by Binny and Gowtham reduced target to 38 from 12. Binny and Gowtham hit 3 sixes between them. Target came down to 12 of last over. Butler hit a skier in vacant position. That showed RR had luck they needed. He hit Bravo for a six and 2 to give RR famous win They are still in the tournament and need to win last 3 matches now. Special win. Butler ended at 95*. Special innings under pressure. Butler has won 2 games from nowhere now.

5 batsmen with most elevated strike-rate in T20 World Cups
The T20 design has changed cricket for eternity. The games are more limited, relentless with something occurring on every single ball. Gone are the times of batsmen taking as much time as necessary to get set. Players who can dispatch the ball into the stands from ball one are esteemed substantially more in the managed configuration of the game.
Tumblr media
While T20, prevalently in the present occasions, is played in club structure in T20 classes over the World, there have been various T20 World Cups played since 2007 too. There have been 6 versions played till now with the most recent one out of 2016. All the competitions have seen some exciting cricket and today we will take a gander at top 5 batsmen with most noteworthy strike rates in T20 World Cups (least 500 runs)
5. Shane Watson (140.94)
Shane Watson was apparently one of the most significant all-rounders in the restricted overs cricket over the most recent twenty years. Watson could bat in the top request just as the center request and had a brilliant arm which helped him pick wickets at ordinary spans. In the enormous ICC competitions, he was consistently at the highest point of his game. In T20 World Cups, Watson scored 537 runs in 22 innings, at a normal of 28.26 and strike pace of 140.94, with five 50s and the most noteworthy score of 81 against Pakistan in 2010.
Watson alongside his fruitful opening accomplice David Warner had together hit Ravindra Jadeja for 6 continuous sixes over his 2 overs and Watson's 72 of only 42 balls against India in the 2012 World Cup was probably the best inning in the competition played on a troublesome track to bat on. He completed his worldwide vocation with the T20 World Cup in 2016 in India however not prior to having a famous lifetime.

4. Abdominal muscle De Villiers (143.40)
Abdominal muscle de Villiers will go down as maybe the most bold and creative batsman to have played the game. De Villiers has a variety of shots to be played everywhere on the ground. Regardless of having a remarkable record in ODIs and Tests, de Villiers couldn't make that sway in worldwide T20s, particularly the World Cups.
De Villiers has gathered 717 runs in 29 innings at a normal of 29.87, a hit pace of 143.40 with the most noteworthy score of 79* and 5 half-hundreds of years. These numbers might be generally excellent for some other batsman yet are disappointing for a player like ABD. By and by, he has played a couple of stunning innings in T20 World Cups too, none more sparkling than the one played by him against England in the 2014 World Cup where he crushed the bowlers to bits scoring an unbeaten 69 of only 28 balls showing his absolute ability.
3. Chris Gayle (146.73)
The 'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle must be the best T20 player ever. He reclassified batting in the briefest type of the game and when at his best, Gayle was relentless. Gayle scored a mind boggling 920 runs in T20 World Cups in 26 innings at an awesome normal of 40 and hit pace of 146.73 with two huge 100s.
Gayle had begun the debut World Cup in 2007 with a blast crushing 117 of only 57 balls with 10 mammoth sixes. His subsequent century came just about 10 years after the fact, when he destroyed England's solid bowling line up in 2016 with 100 of 48 balls, this time with 11 sixes, breaking his own record which he had set in 2007. Gayle consistently ventured up for the West Indies in T20 World Cups. There will never be as damaging a batsman as Chris Gayle.

2. Kevin Pietersen (148.33)
The primary man to change the manner in which cricket was played in England in the 21st century must be Kevin Pietersen. His unconventional style drew analysis almost immediately, yet he proceeded to refute every one of his faultfinders and proceeded to build up a fruitful vocation in all organizations of the game. Yet, his effect in the briefest arrangement for England is unrivaled.
Pietersen played only 15 innings in the 3 World Cups somewhere in the range of 2007 and 2010, yet had a gigantic effect scoring 580 runs at a normal of 44.61, strike pace of 148.33 alongside 4 50s. Be that as it may, his numbers don't recount the whole story.
Regardless of being the creators of the game, England had always lost a Cricket World Cup until 2010, when on account of Pietersen's remarkable execution in the competition where he scored 248 runs in 6 innings, England at long last lifted the desired prize. KP will consistently remain the best innovator of unconventional batting in the cutting edge period.
1. Shahid Afridi (154.23)
There has never been a more noteworthy mystery in World Cricket than Shahid Afridi. A batsman who had unbelievable ability completed his profession with countless beginnings discarded and rather than an incredible batsman, Afridi will consistently be recognized as a special hitter.
Be that as it may, it is likewise obvious, no one was a more noteworthy performer than the Pakistani all-rounder, who on his day didn't require any other individual's help to dominate matches for his group. Despite the fact that Afridi's normal is a simple 18.82 in 32 innings with only two 50s, his strike pace of 154.23 shows how hazardous a batsman he was. His disappointing exhibition over 10 years shouldn't eclipse the way that he drove Pakistan to triumph in the 2009 T20 World Cup finals with a reasonable 54* off 40 balls displaying his capacity to bat as per the circumstance. Afridi will lament the reality he was unable to deliver all the more such innings of substance.

Lowest Scores of IPL
Lowest Scores in IPL: Indian Premier League (IPL) is commonly considered as a batsmen's competition. Be that as it may, throughout the years, there have been uncommon bowling exhibitions and low scores have been protected commendably. The credit thoroughly goes to the bowlers and defenders who are at their best to limit a group to the most minimal score conceivable. It may look extremely basic, however, low-scoring matches are now and again trickier to win than high-scoring ones.
From arrogance to a moderate pitch or even individual brightness; there are numerous reasons why a group can waver to its most noticeably awful batting execution. Here are the best 7 lowest scores in IPL history:
7. Royal Challengers Bangalore 70 vs the Rajasthan Royals (2014)
Tumblr media
Lowest Scores in IPL: Entering the rundown at number 7 is the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Virat Kohli-drove group posted 70 runs against the Rajasthan Royals on 26 April 2014, Abu Dhabi. Put to bat first, RCB lost opener Yogesh Takawale and Parthiv Patel in the fourth and fifth wad of the innings. Yuvraj Singh was the following wicket as he was gotten at sneak off Kane Richardson.
Abdominal muscle De Villers came in when RCB were battling at 3-5 in 2.1 overs and left the extremely next ball. Virat Kohli drove the group till 46 preceding losing his wicket economically to Praveen Tambe. Tambe then destroyed the remainder of the RCB's batting request and completed with 4/20 and was named the Man of the Match.
6. Royal Challengers Bangalore 70 vs the Chennai Super Kings (2019)
Tumblr media
Lowest Scores of IPL: The 2019 IPL season opened with the Chennai Super Kings inviting RCB. There were high expectations from the establishment in the wake of promising buys like Shivam Dube, Shimron Hetmyer, and Heinrich Klaasen among others. It was an hour and a half unpleasant show from the RCB batsmen subsequent to being put to bat first on a moderate pitch at Chennai.

Just Parthiv Patel (29) scored in the twofold figures for RCB as the popular batting lineup fizzled. Harbhajan Singh returned to some time in the past as he picked 3 wickets including Virat Kohli and AB de Villers. His turn accomplice, Imran Tahir additionally picked 3 wickets, as RCB completed on their second-most reduced score ever and the least aggregate for any group in the IPL against CSK.
5. Kolkata Knight Riders 67 vs Mumbai Indians (2008)
Tumblr media
Lowest Scores in IPL: Mumbai Indians bowlers experienced the sensitive KKR batting line-up with a perfect feature of bowling on the sixteenth of May 2008. Salman Butt and Aakash Chopra opened the KKR innings. Be that as it may, both lost their wickets in the first place times to put the visitors stuck in a heartbreaking circumstance.
Sourav Ganguly and Ajit Agarkar attempted to take the gathering's aggregate to 3 digits, yet the MI bowled the entire side out for an entirety of 67 runs. Sanath Jayasuriya scored 48 off just 17 balls to help the home side register a triumph inside the mandatory powerplay itself. Shaun Pollock was the Man of the Match for his three indispensable wickets while surrendering only 12 runs.
4. Delhi Daredevils 67 vs the Kings XI Punjab (2017)
Tumblr media
Lowest Scores of IPL: Delhi Daredevils dropped to their most insignificant IPL hard and fast. Their earlier least was 80 firm in 19.1 overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013. Corey Anderson, Kagiso Rabada and Karun Nair were the principle batsmen to get into twofold figures as a shambolic batting display from Delhi saw them being bowled out for just 67.
Sandeep Sharma picked 4 wickets while Axar Patel and Varun Aaron picked 2 each for the Kings XI Punjab. The Kings at that point turned on the style as they pursued it down in 7.5 overs politeness to 27-ball-50 years by Martin Guptill.
3. Delhi Daredevils 66 vs the Mumbai Indians (2017)
Tumblr media
Lowest Scores in IPL: Delhi Daredevils include on the top portion of the most reduced IPL scores records for the subsequent time! No big surprise why the establishment needed to rebrand into Delhi Capitals toward the beginning of IPL 2019. This time it was MI turn twins Harbhajan Singh and Karn Sharma who completely dismantled DD before their own fans.
In the wake of deciding to bowl first, Delhi ended up stuck in a tragic circumstance with West Indies players Pollard and Simmons' firecrackers driving Rohit Sharma-drove Mumbai to 213. In answer, the Delhi batting broke as Bajji and Karn spun a web around the batsmen. They completed with figures of 3/22 and 3/11 individually as MI beat the overlooked establishment by a massive edge of 146 runs.
2. Rajasthan Royals 58 vs the Royal Challengers Bangalore (2009)
Tumblr media
Lowest Scores of IPL: Banglore based establishment include for the third time on this rundown of the most minimal scores in IPL. Nonetheless, this time it was for their splendid bowling execution. In the second match of the subsequent version, RCB recorded a pounding 75-run prevail upon shielding champions RR in Cape Town, South Africa. Anil Kumble was the modeller of earnest win picking 5 wickets for only 5 runs.
Yet, before Anil Kumble's splendour with the ball, it was another Bangalorean-Rahul Dravid who stood tall. 'The Wall' scored 66 while building a consistent organization with captain Kevin Pietersen as they totalled 133. Notwithstanding the two, all RCB batsmen had scored in the single digits.
1. Royal Challengers Bangalore 49 vs the Kolkata Knight Riders (2017)
Tumblr media
Lowest Scores in IPL: The Royal Challengers Bangalore highlight on the highest point of groups with the most minimal scores in IPL. Subsequent to confining the Knights to 131 with assistance from Yuzvendra Chahal's splendour of 3/16. Be that as it may, KKR's quick bowling unit dominated Yuzi's splendour as RCB floundered by and by.
Nathan Counter-Nile, Chris Woakes and Colin de Grandhomme all picked 3 wickets each. It was staggering that a batting unit which incorporates Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and ABD fell for a negligible 49 runs. No player in the RCB group had the option to arrive at twofold digits as they humiliated themself at Eden Gardens.

Countdown to IPL 2019: The top individual knocks
Tumblr media
NEW DELHI: It’s that time of the year again when the Indian Premier League (IPL) fever begins to grip the nation, as the 12th edition of the cricket extravaganza is set to begin from March 23.
Here TOI Sports recaps the highest individual scores ever scored in the tournament’s history.
Chris Gayle (175 not out vs Pune Warriors in 2013) It was mayhem at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru six years ago and the wrecker-in-chief was none other than West Indies batsman Chris Gayle. The ‘Universe Boss’ was on a rampage against the now-defunct Pune Warriors in IPL 2013. Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, the swashbuckling left-hander notched up an unbeaten 175 off just 66 balls, the highest individual score in the history of the IPL as well as in T20 cricket overall. Not only was it the highest score, Gayle also recorded the fastest T20 hundred (off 30 balls). His record-shattering knock saw him smash 17 sixes and 13 boundaries. RCB posted a mammoth 263/5 against Pune and went on to register a massive 130-run victory. Incredibly, Gayle also took two wickets in the match.
Brendon McCullum (158 not out vs RCB in 2008) Cricket fans could not have asked for a better start than this to the Indian Premier League back in 2008. Brendon McCullum launched the inaugural edition of the cash-rich league with a swashbuckling unbeaten 158 off 73 deliveries to power Kolkata Knight Riders to 222/3 against Royal Challengers Bangalore. McCullum’s thunderous knock was studded with 13 sixes and 10 fours. The former Kiwi captain contributed more than 70 percent of the team’s total as the second best score in the KKR innings was just 20, made by Ricky Ponting. Chasing a huge target, RCB were dismissed for a paltry 82 to hand Kolkata a big 140-run victory as the IPL kicked off in style.

The left-hander’s 128 not out steered Delhi Daredevils (rechristened Delhi Capitals now) to 187/5 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He hit 15 fours and seven sixes in his 63-ball knock. But his maiden IPL hundred went in vain as SRH comfortably chased down the target in 18.5 overs with the loss of just one wicket. (Getty Images)

He again found an able partner in skipper Virat Kohli, as the two forged a 229-run partnership to power Royal Challengers to 248/3 and set up a 144-run victory over Gujarat – the second largest victory in the IPL in terms of runs. #398 Golf GOD finally smiles at GARCIA as he wins a major at 74th major tournament; GREEN Jacket is finally his on his idol Seve Ballesteros's 60th birth anniversary; Rana-Pandya combine to give MI a famous win over KKR; ABD is a freak and Maxwell provess he is no lesser as Punjab humiliate RCB and more...:-)

22 top ten finishes,12 top 5 finishes, 3 times runner up i majors has always been haunting Garcia. He is called Mr choker as well. He and Rose had best chance to win Augusta Masters. Rose had atleast won a major in 2013 US open though he also had fair share of heartburns. Hoffman, Spieth and Pieters had good chance to challenge the duo. But after 5 holes, it became 2 player race as rest faltered early on. Rose started off with few pars before making bogey at 5th hole. Garcia on the other hand took charge initially as he birdied first and third hole. Rose put pressure back on Garcia by making birdies at 6,7 and 8th hole. Garcia made pars in rest of the holes in front nine. At half way stage, both were tied at 8 under par. This has been stage where Garcia had choked as history suggests. History almost repeated itself as Garcia got nervous to make bogeys in next 2 holes. Rose held nerve to make pars. Rose lead by 2 just by keeping nerves. Garcia then had a horrendous shot towards tree branch in 13th hole. He scrambled to make par. Rose had chance of birdie but missed short put. That impacted Rose's confidence as was evident later. If Rose had made birdie or Garcia made bogey, match would have been all over with 3 shot difference. Garcia pulled one back at 14th as he made a birdie. 15th was a hole if you strike big and accurately had good chance of eagle. Major hurdle is to cross the lake without mistake. Garcia did that and gave himself a very good eagle chance. Rose shot was good but not as close that of Garcia. Garcia hit a dream put to make an eagle. Rose hit a birdie. Lead reduced to 1 shot . Rose and Garcia both tied at 9 under with 3 holes to play. Rose hit another birdie at 16th to make it 10 under which all experts felt would be winning score. Garcia just managed par. Rose hit a poor tee shot at 17th . Nerves was getting to ENglishman finally. He made a bogey. garcia held par and it was all tied going to final hole. Both had chances of hitting birdie but shockingly for entire crowd, both missed. Garcia had an easier one. Has Garcia missed another chance to win major??? It all came down to play off now. It was a sudden death play off. Garcia hit a good tee shot and found the middle of the green. Rose faltered again and had to take 2 shots to reach green. Garcia hit a shot close to flag and had golden chance to win. Rose had to make par to put pressure on Garcia but made bogey. Garcia had 2 putts to win but just needed one. Entire crowd celebrated his win and cried along with him. It was emotional win for Garcia on his idol Seve Ballestros's 60th birth anniversary. Wait is over. Hail the new Spanish king !!! Golfing GOD has finally smiled on him and how !!!

KKr who were high on confidence after thumping Gujarat Lions at home faced Mumbai at wankhade. KKR have a poor record against MI away from home. Gambhir and Lynn had a decent start as they made 44 runs of first 4 overs.Post that Gambhir was dismissed. Uthappa and Lynn followed soon after . KKr were reduced to 67-3. Pathan failed as well. Surya and Manish then consolidated innings. In the end though it was all Manish Pandey as he carted six at will towards the end. His 81 was instrumental in KKr reaching a respectable 178. KKR hit 34 of last 11 balls. MI started well as Patel and Butler cut into KKR. But both got dismissed in quick sucession after a 50 plus stand. Rhit got a bad LBW decision. Rana and Krunal Pandya then started resurrection. Rana was in brilliant touch. He had decent stands with Krunal and Pollard. Both Pollard and Krunal promised much more but failed to make it big. MI needed 49 of last 3 overs. Rana and Pndya then got going with some lust blows. It came down to 30 of last 2 overs and 11 of last over. KKR had chances as runout chance was missed in these 3 overs an catch dropped. MI won with a ball to spare. Hardik's 11 ball 29 was a match turner. Rana hit a brilliant fifty as well.

RCB tool a big decision to drop Gayle to accomodate ABD. RCB were in all sorts of trouble as Watson, Vishnu and Kedhar were all dismissed early to reduce RCB to 22-3. Kedhar was unlucky though. RCB struggled to get it going as there were lots of dot balls in between. RCB couldnt get going against Axar and Aaron. ABD and Mandeep just about managed to take RCB past 50 in 10 overs. Mandeep was dismissed against the run of play as Saha took blinder. Binny joined ABD but going tough as well. ABD special was needed and he gave some magical display. He hit 9 sixes in all directions to take RCB to 148. He made 89 of 148 runs. He just took 46 balls for that. In remainiing 74 balls, RCB just managed 59 runs.148 was always going to be tough. RCB had to start well by taking early wickets. Watson didnt introduce Mills and Chahal till 5th and 6th over and match was over by then. Amla and Vohra hit 50 of first 5 overs and had no pressure after that. Mills and Chahal did pick a wicket but Amla and Maxwell finished the match with ease. Maxwell was dropped by Mandeep as well. Bowling was poor, fielding was bad and captaincy had no logic. Amla finished his fifty. Chase could have been made tighter for Punjab if Mills and Chahal had opened up.
