How would Kid and Killer win the heart of their love interest? I see Kid making something metallic with his powers and Killer inviting her for a candle light dinner 😋
I'm now picturing Killer and his love interest ending up in a Lady and the Tramp situation, only instead of a kiss it ends in a smooch on his mask XD
Kid would certainly make something though. Leather, metal, wood or whatever. I think he'd almost do it without thinking, whatever it ended up being, not realizing you're on his mind until he's holding a small bouquet of lace and leather flowers with twisted copper and bronze wire for stems and leaves >.>

Marooned: Chapter 30
Kid x FemReader x Killer
Warnings: Sexual themes
Just Desserts
"I'm invited, right?" Of note, Kid was not working on fixing the wall. He was fiddling with something small and metallic, trying to shape it.
Killer was sitting on Kid's workbench, lost in thought. "Huh? No!"
That seemed to surprise Kid. "What do ya mean 'no'?!"
"You'll do something to piss her off and then she'll leave." Killer crossed his arms.
"But I like spaghetti."
"I'll save you some!"
Kid shrugged. "Fine."
Killer narrowed his eyes under his mask. He knew Kid and he knew Kid had no intention of leaving them alone. "Kid..." Killer's tone was a warning.
"I said fine!" Kid scowled. "But you better invite me to whatever happens after." Kid looked at Killer with a quirked eyebrow and a grin.
"That's not..." Killer gave up. "Yeah, sure." He rolled his eyes. He didn't even expect that you would agree, let alone want to join him afterwards for anything. Killer mainly wanted to do something nice for you since you had shielded his face from the crew. That wasn't something that he took lightly. He had broken your nose after all. It would have easily been fair not to do anything. His cheeks got warm thinking about how flustered you had been. Even if it was more for yourself than for him, your concern was cute. Killer could tell you were trying your best to earn your place. He needed to distract his thoughts before he started to get nervous. "What are you working on?"
"None of yer business." Kid moved his hand to cover the thing he was making.
Maybe it was Killer's imagination, but he thought Kid's face flushed. Killer was surprised Kid didn't want to tell him what it was. Sometimes Kid did that. Especially if he wanted to make sure it worked first. Kid did not take constructive criticism well.
"She kinda had yer ass, huh?" Kid smirked. Kid thought it was kinda hot when you were choking Killer out. He wished it was with your thighs though. And that it was him.
It was Killer's turn to scoff. "I would have won if my helmet didn't come off."
"I don't know..." Kid teased. "Ya seemed to struggle there."
Killer shook his head. "You fight her then."
Kid waved his hand in dismissal. "I already have. Piece of cake."
"That was when she was still half-starved." Killer pointed out. "She's stronger now, probably not even at her peak."
Kid considered this. "Yeah I guess her ass has gotten fatter." Actually, you had filled back out quite nicely thanks to Killer's cooking. You were a far cry from the girl on the island, scrawny, and all lean-muscle. You were still muscular, though putting weight on in all the right places.
Killer sighed. "Not what I meant." Killer was a man. He was not immune to noticing these things. "But... I do agree." And though your boobs were pressed into his face, he had noticed your stomach more than anything. Your crop top left the skin of your mid-section bare. His hand had brushed against it, feeling how warm and soft it was. He wanted to know what it felt like to lay on it, bury his face in it, have it in his grip. It made him proud that your body reflected how much you enjoyed his cooking. He wondered if you would let him feed you a few bites. He had to stop thinking about it before he gave himself heart palpitations.
Kid noticed the angle of the light coming through the window, hues of deep orange. "Shouldn't ya get started in the galley soon?"
Killer saw how low the sun hung in the sky, jumping up from his seated position on Kid's workbench. "Shit!" He stumbled over his feet and hopped on one foot to keep from tripping before he ran out the door.
The captain shook his head. "All that fuss fer one bitch." He looked down at the small, silver, crescent shaped object on the table, spinning it around with his finger, elbow resting on the table with his head in his other hand. He flicked it across the room and drummed his fingers on the wood. With a frustrated growl, he stomped across the room and picked it back up, shoving it into his pocket. I'm no better.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You decided to take a short nap before dinner, sprawling yourself over Minerva's back. The warmth from her back and her rhythmic, soft snoring put you to sleep in seconds. It was a blink to you. That hadn't felt like a nap at all, but it was dim outside so some time had, in fact, passed. You would have slept until the next morning save for the smell of food beckoning you to the mess hall. Not even bothering to get off Mini, you rode her down for dinner. At this point, no one batted an eye. There was a glaring problem. There was an egregious absence of spaghetti on the plates that you could see. You dismounted and walked to the galley, leaving Mini to perform her evening rounds, where she circled the tables with her mouth open until someone tossed something in, or sniffed the ground for dropped morsels.
Flinging open the galley doors, you started to complain, "WHERE'S THE SPAG-....hetti.... Oh." There was spaghetti. On two plates. Across from each other. With a candle in the middle. You didn't move, still processing what was in front of you. Your heartbeat started to race. Oh fuck. You replayed the conversation in your head. He had been asking you to dinner, not asking you to choose dinner for the crew. Asking me to dinner!
"Is something wrong?" Killer's hands suddenly got sweaty. He saw the blank look on your face and panicked internally.
"I... No." You blinked. Killer was fiddling with his apron balled up in his hands. "No. This looks great." You tried to convince him with a smile. You were kicking yourself for not realizing. You didn't even change clothes! You probably smelled like boar! Killer was going to regret this. You reached for a stool, which Killer quickly pulled out for you. "You don't have to do that."
"I want to." Killer sounded happy, his hands were still sweaty, but he was nervous in a more excited way now. He joined you in sitting at the opposite end of the table. It was the prep table dressed up with a tablecloth and a candle. A candle that he had to bribe Heat to let him borrow.
You were frozen, only moving when you saw that Killer was waiting for you to take a bite first. After the first bite, it was hard to stop. It was delicious. You were eating it by the forkful, hardly stopping to chew. Killer was watching you intently. "S-sorry." You dabbed your mouth with a napkin. "That wasn't... ladylike." You forgot this was a date and you were supposed to behave a certain way.
Killer laughed. "Who cares? I'm glad that you like it enough to wear it."
You relaxed, then realized what he had said and looked down. "Ah fuck." There was some sauce on your shirt. You squinted. "What the...?" There was a purplish smudge.
Killer cleared his throat. "I think it's um... my lipstick, from earlier. Sorry."
You really wished you had changed. Lipstick? Kid wore it but you wouldn't have guessed Killer did, since the helmet would block it. Your eyes shifted to Killer, who still had his helmet on. He was moving his fork around, not actually eating. It was because his helmet was in the way, though you couldn't help but feel a squeeze in your stomach, thinking maybe that it was you. "Do you want me to turn around? Or close the eye that works?" You laughed apprehensively.
The truth was that Killer was working up the courage to take his helmet off. He wanted to. He knew you had already seen his face. It was a mental hurdle that he was trying his best to get past. "No." His heart was pounding out of his chest and his blood rushed in his ears, but the soft, encouraging look you gave him had his hands reaching for the clasp on his helmet. He wasn't worried about anyone coming in. He gave Wire strict orders that no one, not even Kid, was allowed to come in.
It felt wrong to watch, averting your gaze to the plate in front of you to give him time. When you heard the soft thud of his helmet on the wooden table, you slowly raised your eyes to meet his. They were every bit of icy, piercing blue as you remembered them. His bangs fell over them until he pushed them back with his hand. The smile on his face lacked any confidence, endearing all the same. "I've never seen you with lipstick on before. I think the purple looks nice." Though that part was new, it was the same handsome face that had washed up on the beach. Your compliment made his smile stretch a little wider.
Neither of you knew what to say, so you ate in silence. It wasn't awkward at all. It was actually more awkward when you had been talking. This felt relaxed, a bit of peace away from the daily chaos and incredibly loud captain. The candlelight flickered, casting faint shadows on the walls.
You rolled a meatball around with your fork. "Can I make a confession?" Killer nodded, puzzled. "I didn't realize you were asking me to dinner. I thought you were just letting me pick." You shyly admitted.
Now your initial response made sense to Killer. He tensed, wondering if you wouldn't have agreed otherwise or if he made you feel uncomfortable. He was about to apologize, but you sensed his unease.
"This is nice though." You spun up another forkful of pasta. "I've... never been asked to dinner before." With a snort, you said, "I know that's probably an earth-shattering revelation." You were being sarcastic. Of course you were pretty... pretty abrasive, forward, cocky, and downright mean. People weren't scrambling to sweep you off your feet for more than a night.
The surprise in his expression was evident. "What do you mean? Never?" You nodded with another snort of laughter. "But you're-"
"Save it." You rolled your eyes. "I know what I am." It wasn't meant to be snappy, your tone was gentle, genuine. You rested your chin in your hand and smiled. You were happy with yourself. You didn't need Killer to list off things he liked about you. Obviously he liked something enough to make you spaghetti.
Killer laughed and held up his hands. "Ok ok. I'll save the flattery for Kid."
On the other side of the doors, Kid's voice carried, "Better save some spaghetti for Kid!" It sounded like he was waiting far enough away that he wasn't technically interrupting you, but close enough to be in earshot if Killer's voice was loud.
"Fuck off, Kid. I did!" Killer yelled in the direction of the voice. He would have to be more mindful of his volume. The captain seemed pleased with that since he stopped yelling. While the two of you were in the galley, the only beings remaining in the mess were Kid and Mini, awkwardly sitting in silence with each other, waiting for their respective partners. Killer shook his head, getting back to his dinner.
The two of you continued to eat, sharing small parts of each other, neither of you willing to get too deep into anything. Killer gave you some feedback about your fighting, good and bad, lest it be mistaken for flattery. There was a good chance Wire would be grumpy for the next few days. He also said that Kid had been impressed, leaving out his other comments.
The increasingly full feeling in your stomach slowed down your eating. Your gaze moved from twirling your fork to Killer. His golden hair fell around his shoulders, his sharp jawline covered in equally golden scruff at the apex, the way his cupid's bow was a perfect 'v' shape, you were always drawn back to his eyes, ever-changing shades of blue, like the ocean. He was perfect, and here you were disheveled, hair a mess, stained shirt, covered in the day's grime. "Y'know if I had realized this was a date, I would have at least taken a shower and put a clean shirt on."
"Is this a date?" Killer questioned.
Was that a hopeful tone? All the sudden, your face felt like it was on fire. "Well-," you choked on your pasta. To avoid answering and to figure out what he was thinking, you countered, "Do you want it to be?"
Killer grinned. "I want it to be whatever you want it to be." He knew what you were trying to do.
It was a stalemate. Neither of you wanted to speak anything into existence, for fear of ruining it altogether.
"FER FUCK SAKE." Kid was leaning in the doorway. "PATHETIC." Kid barged in, looking around for his plate, mocking your conversation. "What do you want? heehee no what do youuuu want?"  Kid tore through the kitchen like a starving hound. "I want my fuckin dinner! I waited long enough and I'm fuckin starving! Just fuckin kiss already!" Kid took the lid off the pot of pasta. "Bingo!"
Killer snatched Kid's wrist faster than you could see. "No. Hands."
"Wouldn't hafta use em if ya had made me a fuckin plate like I asked!"
You watched on as they squabbled. Killer was essentially wrestling Kid away from the pasta. It seemed as though there may have been a history of Kid contaminating the food by eating with his hands, about right for your characterization of him. In the midst of it, Killer had put his mask back on. It was nice to see his face while it lasted. It kind of pissed you off. One nice moment in your otherwise brutal and chaotic life, and the King of Chaos himself comes to ruin it. You were finished with dinner, but maybe you had wanted to talk to Killer longer, maybe you had wanted to steal a kiss. You definitely did, who were you kidding?
"I'll leave you two to it," you said with a hint of venom, glaring at Kid. Switching to a softer voice, "Thank you, Killer. That was a lovely...evening." You winked at him. "Too bad it didn't have a chance to be even more lovely. Kid."
Kid pointed back and forth between where you had been standing and Killer, "Doffs dat mee weee ain huckin?"* He had a mouthful of pasta. One good thing about red lipstick is that you couldn't tell how much of the pasta sauce hadn't made it into his mouth.
Killer folded his arms and let out a defeated sigh. "I told you that you would piss her off and she would leave."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a soft knock at the door to the women's quarters. You were tucked in bed after a piping hot shower, reading an old newspaper. There was a lot you missed when you were on that island, and Heat was nice enough to pull the highlights from his collection. Every now and then, you would explain something particularly eventful to Minerva. Emma called for you. Strange. You weren't expecting anything. Your eyebrows went up when you saw Killer. He had his normal first-mate air about him, all business, relaxing only when Emma left. You looked at him for elaboration.
"I'm sorry about Kid." He rubbed his arm.
You shrugged. "That's not for you to apologize for. Kid happens." You leaned against the doorframe. "That's not all you came for though, is it?" You picked up on the way his hands kept fidgeting. Cute.
Killer cleared his throat, "I... uh. I made dessert, too, but we didn't get to it." He sucked in a deep breath. "Do you want to have some? I remembered how much you liked chocolate cake." Rather, he remembered you drunkenly eating it from his hand and the feeling of your tongue around his fingers.
You felt your mouth water. "I could go for some I suppose." You crossed your arms, thinking. You were in your pajamas, nothing extravagant, a simple cotton button up shirt and matching shorts. It was chilly out and you really didn't want anyone to see you in pjs.
Killer took your hesitation as a negative. "You don't have to. I can go."
You grabbed his arm before he could turn. "No, I want to. I just don't want to be out in pjs and I have no shoes on. I'll have to change."
The first-mate noticeably perked up. "Don't worry about that." He turned around and hunched down. "Hop on." Killer made grabbing motions with his hands, indicating that he would grab your legs. "Or I could just sling you over my shoulder. Don't want anyone to get the wrong idea, though."
You cocked your head. "And what idea does this give instead exactly?" You relented, stepping back before getting a short, running start to jump on his back, wrapping your arms around his neck and your legs around is waist. The image of being slung over his shoulder wasn't a bad one, if you were honest.
Killer stood up, adjusting your thighs around him in a way that was more comfortable, doing a little hop to bounce you higher on his back.
You took this opportunity to breathe in his scent, holding yourself back from burying your face in the thick golden hair tumbling down his back. A few untamed strands tickled your face as you bounced along with Killer's steps. Distracted by this possibly once-in-a-lifetime chance, you barely registered that Killer had passed the mess hall and galley, going to his room.
Killer walked over to his bed and turned around, letting you down gently.
You bounced on the edge of his bed. "Oh. I thought we would go to the galley again."
"Too risky." Killer explained. "Kid usually makes a fridge raid late." He handed you a fork and a plate with the most decadent-looking cake you had ever seen. It was multi-layered, moist, and he didn't skimp on the portions.
Eagerly, you took the plate from him and scooted back to sit more comfortably on his comforter. It was soft and it smelled like him. You watched as he grabbed his own slice, sitting across from you. Killer had swapped his jeans for sweatpants. His shirt was the same but slightly faded, an older one. "Hm. How thoughtful of you then." Now that you had a better grasp of the situation, your confidence had returned in full. You preferred to be in control.
Killer was looking at you expectantly. You assumed so anyway, his mask was pointed in your direction.
Bringing a forkful to your mouth, you were barely two chews in and already reaching for another bite. Much like the spaghetti, you were inhaling the cake. "Good god, Killer." You had to resist saying something downright filthy, not wanting to ruin the otherwise sweet moment. "I didn't know I had a heart until you found your way to it with your fucking cooking."
A pink tint spread down his neck.
"I wish I could return the favor, but I'm sure you've noticed I'm not great in the kitchen." You took another bite, humming your satisfaction.
Killer huffed a partial laugh from his nose. "You're... not great," he agreed. "But," he continued, "you're... good company."
You rolled your eyes. "I know that's not true." You thought he was being sarcastic.
"No I mean it." Killer said in earnest. "You're nice to look at."
"Oh so I'm your kitchen eye-candy then, huh?"
"Don't act like it doesn't go both ways," he retorted.
You hmphed. "So? It's not equal because I can only ogle from the neck down." You smirked at him.
Killer took a deep breath and sighed. "Fine." His hand came up to the back of his neck, hesitating, then unlatching his helmet for the second time that night. He set his helmet down next to him. "Ogle away."
It was difficult to peel your eyes away from him. He was probably planning to remove it at some point regardless since he hadn't attempted to eat his own cake before then. "Don't mind if I do." You laughed and kept eating away at your slice. While you did so, you looked around his room. It was kept neat, as expected. Your eyes settled on a picture. It was difficult to see from your position, though you could make out who you assumed to be Kid and Killer, with a third, smaller person between them. They looked familiar, similar to the picture of the girl you saw in Kid's things. You didn't ask about it. It would be hypocritical of you to press for information about their past when you were so against it when they did the same to you. Though, one could argue, they owe you at least that much in return.
"Hey, Y/N," Killer wavered, unsure whether to ask or not. "Remember back when we rescued you from the island with the marine base, after the fire?" He waited for you to nod, letting his bangs hide his face in place of his mask. "You were kind of out of it, but you said you liked m-my laugh... Did you mean it?" He looked up at you until one of his sapphire eyes met yours.
"What? Of course I meant it." You looked at him, questions evident in your expression.
Killer noticeably straightened up. "I don't really like it myself." Killer paused. He didn't know how much he wanted to say on the matter. "I used to get made fun of." He shrugged, like it wasn't a big deal. You knew better, since he cared enough to bring it up.
"I would love to see someone try it now." You put down your empty plate. "You could put them down without even dirtying your punishers." Pretending to jab someone with your fork, you added, "Or I'll add them to my hit list."
Killer grinned, amused by your comments, not elaborating any further on his past. "You have frosting on your face."
Could you go one second without getting food on yourself? You searched for it with your hand, trying to wipe it off.
The man across from you grinned wider and wider every time you missed, enjoying your struggle. "Let me get it." He leaned over and swiped his thumb across your cheek, a fair bit away from your mouth. Who knows how it got there?
Half-expecting him to let you lick it from his thumb, you were surprised when he did it himself. "Maybe I wanted that," you said teasingly.
Killer ran his finger through the remaining frosting on his plate, eyeing it, then motioning you over with it. "Come get some then."
You crawled over until you were sitting on your feet, kneeling in font of him. Taking his finger in your mouth, you put your lips around its base and sucked the frosting clean off, licking around his fingertip for good measure before you released him with a pop. It was nearly the same as the first time, though now you were completely sober.
Killer shivered. He wasn't planning on letting you have your way tonight. You made it so tempting though, the way your eyes stared into his as your soft lips enveloped his finger.
Testing his boundaries, you leaned forward, hands on his knees. You gave him the chance to pull back, searching his eyes for an answer. His eyes flicked to your lips. That was an answer enough for you before lightly pressing your lips against his. You smiled against him before pulling away and opening your eyes. As you settled back on your feet, Killer was reaching out for your face, pulling it gently back to him. His other hand ran down your side, catching your waist and tugging you closer until you were sitting side-saddle in his lap. Finally some of the tension that had been building was released. You sighed into his mouth as your lips moved against his, hands sliding around his neck and into his hair. Similarly, his hand slid through your hair until it was on the back of your head, pressing you into him. His other hand didn't wander, simply held you close. He groaned as you nipped his lip and slid your tongue into his mouth. When you both pulled away, you leaned your head against his chest. There was a tightening coil in your gut, that was certain. There was something else, too. Butterflies?
Killer put one arm around your back and one arm under your legs, picking you up bridal style.
Your heartbeat quickened. Was he finally gonna let you have it? Yes throw me on the bed and rip my clothes off already! The lust cleared from your mind when he started moving away from the bed. Then it came back in a thicker fog. Shower sex? Bathtub? Kid's room? Even though you were mad at him, your pussy wasn't. The lust was vacuumed from your mind for good when Killer set you down in front of the sink and put a toothbrush in your hand. You looked from it to Killer and back.
"Brush your teeth before bed, princess."
You frowned deeply. "You weren't putting very princess-like thoughts in my head," you grumbled.
Killer out his hand on your shoulder affectionately. "Me? Never." His hand moved to pinch your cheek in a playful way.
You squinted at him in the mirror, catching sight of the outline of something in his sweatpants, you whipped around on him, pointing at his crotch. "Oh come on!" You said through a mouthful of toothpaste. "You're fuckin half-hard!" You turned around to spit and rinse your mouth out.
Killer made a noise of denial. "I'd say quarter-hard." The quirk in the corners of his lips made it all too clear that he was thoroughly enjoying this.
Rounding on him again, you pleaded, "Just the tip? Please?"
He tsked. "Begging only works on Kid. You have to earn it from me." He ruffled your hair. "You are very cute when you beg though, breadcrumb."
Walking back into his room, Killer cleared the plates from the bed and pulled back the covers, motioning for you to hop in.
"I can stay?"
"Just because I don't want to fuck tonight doesn't mean I want you to leave."
You slid in next to him, half-laying over him on your stomach while he was on his back so you could look at him. He put his arm around you to rest his hand on your lower back. That sent electricity up your spine that you did your best to repress. Thinking about your date, you grinned up at him.
"What?" He narrowed his eyes at you, knowing you had something smart to say. It was interesting how much better he could read you than when you first met.
"Thanks for trusting me with your face even though you won't trust me with your cock." Even though it was disguised as a joke, it had true sentiment behind it. That must be a huge deal to leave his helmet off for so long with someone who was arguably still a little bit of a stranger. It was probably made easier by the fact, you had already seen him for some time before then.
Killer allowed himself a short laugh and pressed a kiss to your forehead. "Patience is a virtue." It didn't take long for you to drift to sleep. He watched the features of your face twitch as you entered your first dream of the night. Killer normally took a lot longer to warm up to someone. He didn't know himself what made him so comfortable around you. You acted similarly to Kid, with a charming roughness and feisty personality, and he loved Kid. Maybe that made it natural for him to begin to love you, too.

You glanced at the number for a moment trying to decide if it was worth answering. It was a strange time of night for a spam call and Hip would be more likely to text before calling, either way you had her contact saved so you were confident it wasn’t her. As you pulled into your driveway and started gathering your things to head inside, your phone started buzzing yet again. The same number from before flashed across the screen, this time prompting you to answer.
“Hey, is this (Y/N)?”, the tenor of the voice was jarringly familiar and caught you off guard, it sounded just like him.
“Yeah… Who’s this?”, you asked although you already knew the answer.
“It’s Kidd.”, you heard him inhale, likely taking a drag off a cigarette, “I just wanted to say that I didn’t mean to be an asshole earlier… it was nice meeting you too.”
His words caused your chest to swell and drew the air from your lungs. He was using your own words against you, a way to makeup for his misunderstanding of your initial interaction while also showing that he was attentive to what you’d said to him. He’d laughed when you’d first said it and it made you feel like muttering it in the first place was a mistake, but this changed the way you perceived his response. He’d mentioned that no one had ever been happy to meet him and maybe that was more than just a self-deprecating joke in passing.
“Oh, it’s fine…”, you trailed off, trying hard to find the right words to say, “I didn’t mean to make it seem like I was… Well, you know.”
The fact that he’d taken the time to not only call but also apologize had greatly intensified your interest. Maybe he just wasn’t good at showing his own interest, it’s not like you were particularly seasoned with it either. He must’ve at least been attracted to you beyond his proposition for casual sex, why else would he go out of his way to let you know that he enjoyed meeting you?
“Don’t worry about it.”, he laughed a bit and continued, “I hope Hip will convince you to come to the bar again soon.”
“I don’t think she’ll have to convince me next time.”, you chose your words carefully, not saying too much but reciprocating his invitation, “Goodnight Kidd.”
“I’ll be looking forward to it.”, you could hear the grin in his voice, he was eager to see you again, “Goodnight (Y/N).”
You took yourself to bed and analyzed the events of the night several times over. The next morning, you sent Hip a text and let her know that you needed to talk. She already knew what you’d say, she was the one who’d given Kidd your number in the first place. She seemed pleasantly surprised that he’d actually followed through with calling you, something that she said was out of the ordinary for him. Rather than prolonging your absence any further, she suggested that the two of you meet at the bar at the same time as the night prior and that’s exactly what you did.
You found yourself putting extra thought into your outfit, styling yourself in a way that made you feel at peak confidence. The drive felt agonizingly slow and terrifyingly fast at the same time. You wanted to be there as soon as possible to have the most time to get to know him better but as you pulled into the parking lot, the thought of going through the motions was anxiety inducing. You noticed that Hip’s car was absent from the lot, your calls immediately being sent to voicemail. You’d arrived on time and while it was totally a possibility that she was only running late, the thought of her not showing up was daunting as she was the only common denominator that connected you to Kidd’s world.
A few minutes of waiting had turned into several, the hours only growing later with each passing second. Your texts weren’t being delivered which indicated that her phone was likely turned off. Had she forgotten about tonight? Did something else come up? Nevertheless, your time spent pondering on where she could be was cut short as you were startled by rapid tapping on the glass of your window. A smile broke out across your face when you saw him, red hair spiked atop his head and a leather jacket clinging to his shoulders as he lent to the height of your car. You rolled down your window to greet him, the smell of his cologne wafting in the air.
“What’re you doing here?”, he asked in a playful tone, his demeanor much more inviting than it’d been the night before, “Couldn’t wait to see me?”
“Something like that…”, you played into his suggestion, “I was supposed to meet Hip again but I don’t think she’s gonna make it.”
“Don’t tell me you need Hip to come inside and have a drink with me.”, he stood up straight and crossed his arms, internally praying that his attempts at flirting were actually resonating this time.
“I don’t know… she might not like me getting too comfortable without her.”, you teased him, your tone indicating that you were only joking.
“I’ll tell you what…”, he started while glancing around at the scenery, “How about we go somewhere else instead? I’ve been here the past few nights and it’s dead in there anyway.”
“Do you have anywhere specific in mind?”, you asked, nervous but excited at the thought of being somewhere alone with him.
“How about the riverfront?”, he prompted and you nodded to confirm his suggestion, “I’ll drive.”
You followed him to his car which very much fit his personality and slid into the passenger seat next to him. The closeness in such a confined space was nauseating, ultimately leaving you hyper aware of your surroundings. You’d struck light conversation with him, complimenting the vehicle and listening to him talk about all the parts he’d modified or crafted himself. You learned that he was a mechanic and had been managing a local shop for a couple of years. You loved watching his face light up as he talked about some of his favorite projects and machines that he’d gotten to work on.
He asked several questions about you and seemed genuinely invested in what you had to say. The two of you lead different lives but seemed to have many similarities, most notably when it came to media interests. As he pulled into the parking area at the river, the water glittered against the moonlight and added the perfect ambiance to your conversation. Kidd seemed to be stuck on your shared interest in music, something that he was clearly passionate about has he pointed out the patches of bands on his jacket. He put on one of his favorite playlists and continued the conversation by asking if you’d ever been in a relationship.
He took in your response and asked about the qualities that you typically look for in a partner. He mentioned that he hadn’t actually been in many real relationships, it seemed that he’d had more fun than anything. It made your heart twinge when he asked what you thought about him. Nearly all of what you knew of him was recently learned and while you didn’t want to come off as overbearing, you could already feel yourself slipping into him. Spending time with Kidd just felt so right, hours had passed yet they felt like minutes.
“I’ve really enjoyed spending time with you.”, you stated honestly, “I’m so glad you called because I’m having such a great time right now… I really like you, Kidd. Thank you for bringing me here.”
His face lit up redder than his hair, his cheeks almost seeming to illuminate from the intensity of your response. His eyes were locked on yours, almost as though he were searching for any hint of doubt in your expression. He couldn’t think of another time in his life when someone talked to him the way that you had. You were so open and readily accepting of what he had to say, it was such a refreshing change of pace to break up the monotony that his life had fallen into.
Following his instincts, he leant closer and placed a hand on your leg. You froze at the contact and prepared yourself for the impending intimacy that was sure to follow. He flickered his gaze from your eyes to your lips and then back to your eyes again. You traded your own glances between his gaze and his hand, stilling yourself when he began to draw forward. He placed a kiss on your lips and lingered for a moment, drawing back just a few inches to gauge your reaction. He didn’t want to overwhelm you, but he didn’t want to lose the contact if you reciprocated. You leant your forehead against his own, attempting to steady your breath.
“I guess I should get you back, huh?”, he said lowly, the gruffness of his voice awakening a feeling deep within your abdomen.
“Unfortunately…”, you smiled as he pulled back and rubbed his fingers into the top of your thigh.
He’d kept his hand rested in its position over your leg the whole time, a comfortable silence taking hold as the two of you processed the very meaningful past several hours. As he pulled up next to your own car, you noticed that a group was standing outside the doors of the bar. You recognized Mosh by his bright pink hair and posed next to him was Hip, cigarette in hand and as lively as ever. She still hadn’t answered any of your calls or texts, something that Kidd could tell had bothered you by the change in your demeanor.
“Looks like she found her way here after all.”, he attempted to cut the tension, not exactly sure what you were thinking or feeling.
“Yeah… Should I go over and say hi? I hope she’s not upset with me.”, you asked, really wanting some advice on how to handle the awkward situation.
“I wouldn’t worry about it too much.”, he dismissed your concerns and got out of the car, meeting you at your side as you stood on the pavement.
Mosh called out to Kidd as you made your way over to your own vehicle, a feeble attempt to end what had proved to be another long night. It had a much better outcome than the previous evening but something about Hip’s silence was beginning to bloom in your thoughts. Something was off, even if you couldn’t place exactly what it was. Abrupt silence paused the eruption of chaotic chatter when you stepped into view, a glaringly obvious shift in attitude as they realized you’d been with Kidd the entire time. You waved at everyone, told Kidd goodnight, and headed home for some much needed decompression.

TW- reader is former Slave, Eustass is an ass. Not much for this one but there will be explicit content going forward. Eustass x Skypian!Reader x Killer NOT PROOFREAD fuck it we ball
Tumblr media
A looming smell of damp wood washed over your senses, the smell no longer pleasant as the petrichor of rain back home.
this scent was dank and salty, almost sickening as the smell of dried blood on your clothing.
your head was fuzzy and wrists heavy from the broken shackles that adorned them, bruises and cuts ached throughout your body. You had snuck onto the most intimidating ship that wasn’t the marines nor a slaver and were currently in the hull of said vessel.
the events of Sabaody were still clear in your mind. Gunshot. Punch. Pirates, one crew that you recognized as the man who saved your village Meer months ago along with the warlord and the man in the fur and his masked friend. Their names the only clear ones in your mind Captain Eustass Kid and his little blonde friend Killer.
they had seemed most likely to survive, most were dressed in leather and bold colors and furs.. something you gawked at when you had seen a few of them in the crowd of the auction that had been taking place. unfortunately you had been one of the few who hadn’t received the curtesy of getting your shackles taken off or cut, so you had used some guys attack to cut the chain. It worked then but now as you attempted to move all you could hear was the clank of the metal.
‘well shit, i didn’t wanna fucking try but… some of the others dislocated their thumbs to get out so maybe.. I can try?’
you sighed then steadied your breath, wincing as you pressed until a soft pop was heard. it didn’t hurt to bad as you slid you hand out of the heap of metal. After you’d popped your thumb back in you did the other hand.
you rubbed the metal rash on your wrists to soothe the ache, it’d been a month or so since the blonde hyena like bastard had stolen you away from your home leaving a trail of fire and death in his wake. The tattoo etched into your back will never let you forget the horrors that man did. You were going to find him and rain fire from the sky and watch him burn.
The thunks of footsteps snapped you out of your daydreams, you assumed you were in the hull of the ship. You stood, very quietly made your way over to where the crates were stacked. An idea coming to your mind…
Tumblr media
it had been a week or so after fleeing Sabaody and the Kid Pirates were set out for the new world, but the last week had been hell. A few had been wounded, and Kidd had been in a constant state of paranoia leaving his poor partner more stressed then ever.
Just this morning Killer had chewed Kidd out for eating the rest of the spaghetti he had made last night. In retaliation to these events the Captain had Locked himself inside his workshop for the day.
He had been in there for a while now tinkering away at something as an apology for Killer even though ‘he didn’t do shit’. Suddenly Eustass groaned in frustration, whipping his head around and throwing a dagger into the wall of his workshop.
although.. this time a small squeak came fourth and red slowly stained the wall in a small patch
“I gotcha now little mouse come on out now eh?”
he chuckled low as he stalked towards the wall almost silently before smirking devilishly and in a see less moment connected his fist with the wall next to the patch.
Alas, it was only a rat. He huffed and turned to the kitten asleep bin the porthole shelf he made her
“Gizmo, the fuck ya doin if it’s not catchin the bleedin rats ya Eeijit!”
he lectured the kitten while holding its scruff at face height. She mewed at him in return to which he chuckled and shifted to hold her as if she were a newborn child . Smiling at the way she nibbled his fingers and batted at his arm.
that damn shuffling sound was back again. But this time he sighed and brushed it off as more rats before going to alert killer of the problem. The tortie kitten. But the strange thing was he could hear the vibrations of small metal pieces, maybe he was just getting paranoid? No one could be on his ship without him knowing right? The rat probably just swallowed one of the girls earrings or other piercings..
Tumblr media
as you heard Footsteps wander away you let out a sigh of relief, frowning at the hole next to your face. This was the 5th time you’d almost gotten pulverized by the hands of Eustass Kid. To be fair, he didn’t exactly mean to.. but you just had to wait a few more days until they docked then you could escape.
you felt bad in all honesty, your presence seemed to have been messing with the crew. The crew mates whisper ghost stories to each other, some being paranoid others finding it childish. But the captain was the big problem, he heard something and what does the big bastard do? He chucks a knife- or better yet punches the source of the sound.
the crews been noticing the missing food as well, but it always made you giggle seeing the blonde- “Killer” you remembered, accusing his captain of stealing the leftovers
you actually had yourself a decent spot on the ship, you’d wiggled your way into a tiny space under the kitchen that went up to behind the pantry, and some other parts of the ship. But in the larger area closest to the bottom of the hull you even had a small straw bed. (Why they had straw you had no idea in the slightest)
Currently you were watching the crew tell stories around a fire from the peephole in the pantry one of the rookies you’d noticed looked li’e they were about three minutes from shitting their pants hearing about the torture that Eustass Kid would subject on his victims.
you on the other hand found his tales fascinating, you had no idea people with such similar ideals of freedom to your own people had lived in the blue seas
you smiled to yourself as you watched them, until the growl of your stomach pulled you out of your trance. You saw some apples on the shelf across from the punch-made peephole and quickly stuck your arm through. you couldn’t see so you had your head pressed to the wall trying to hear but the rhythmic thump of your quickening up was making that quite difficult.
You felt around until your hand landed on something soft, fabric like almost, but still firm. It took a moment until you felt the same rhythmic thumps.. of a heart beat..and an unfamiliar voice spoke out with venom.
“what. the. fuck.”

Many people prefer Law over Kid viewing him as more attractive 🥴. What makes Kid in my eyes much more attractive is his passion and temper. While Law is kinda cold and distant with a low sexdrive Kid is very loving, affectionate and likes to show it. He enjoys showing his emotions through his body and sexuality. This makes him incredibly hot in my eyes 🔥🔥🔥
Those are very interesting head canons for those two characters \o/
I think one of the best parts about One Piece is that the cast is so vast there is always *someone* a person can connect with - in a lot of different ways too!
The other great part is that Oda’s continued insistence to avoid much canon romance is that it makes a MASSIVE playground for everyone to have fun in.
Sex god Eustass and awkward, easily flustered Eustass are both valid (and both plausible within the same head canon, people are complex like that!)
Awkward, nerd Law who can’t game his way out of a wet paper bag isn’t necessarily exclusive from dom Law who has your face buried in the mattress singing his praises like he’s your savior and this submarine is church.
But they can be \o/
I love no rizz nerd Law who talks about his figurines for three hours before your first kiss, and I love quiet and calculating Law who is walking you into his room so easily you think it was all your game. >.>
I love awkward virgin Kid, cumming in his pants when he makes you moan, promising he has stamina to keep going, and the King of Kink Kid who has you speaking in tongues before he’s even started prepping you.
In the end I just want peeps to enjoy their head canons and stories and day dreams without feeling like everyone has to agree with them for it to be valid. Variety is the delight of living and creating \o/
So delight in it and keep creating 🥰❤️😍

The weeks following your intimate morning with Kidd were filled with many more spent together, the quality time working to greatly substantiate the connection between the two of you. You were pleased with how open he’d been with you, often turning to heavy talking points late in the evening or early in the morning. You’d learned a lot about him, his personality, and how his friends functioned more like family. You assumed that he’d want to be exponentially more physical after that morning, but he seemed to value your company no matter the level of intimacy. It was refreshing and in great contrast to the way he’d made himself seem the night you’d first met. There were times when it felt like he treated you the same as he treated Killer, a trusted confidant but not by the usual implications that come with the addition of a lover.
Speaking of Killer, Kidd had mentioned that his birthday was coming up and they’d decided to have his party at the bar. From what you’d been told, they were known for throwing the occasional rager but it’d been a while since the last event. Kidd offered to drive, asserting that he’d pick you up so that the two of you could arrive together. He’d carefully maneuvered around the detail that Hip would be in attendance with the rest of their friend group, a fact that he knew would cause unnecessary worry.
He’d kept his word, arriving at your agreed upon time and unleashing a relentless barrage of compliments at how good you looked all dressed up for him. Being in his car surrounded by the scent of cologne mixed with the ever present undertone of metal from his job and a calloused hand lightly squeezing your thigh was working to solidify the ambiance of the evening. It’d been a while since the last time you’d went out with his group, a thought that was creeping in the back of your mind as he pulled into the lot. As always, a small number of them were postured outside the door smoking. You recognized Hip immediately as she was holding onto Mosh’s arm and smiling at Kidd’s arrival. The tint on his windows had made it impossible to see if anyone else was in the car, her face all but faltering when you stepped out alongside him.
It wasn’t an appropriate time or place to approach her, it was Killer’s night after all, but you wanted to break the tension so badly. You still weren’t sure what’d happened to cause her reluctance but nevertheless, it’d have to wait for another time. Kidd lead you to the door, greeting the group in passing but opting to get you inside. A cake was decorated and placed on a table in the middle of the room with balloon themed plates, the bar otherwise looking like its usual self. It seemed like the others were only holding back in lieu of Kidd’s arrival, immediately pouring shots and tipping them back one after another. You refrained from the festivities, hoping to provide the two of you a safe way home at the end of the night.
Killer seemed to be having a great time, which made you happy. The cake was left entirely ignored which made you laugh, they were far too wrapped up in their own antics to even begin the process of lighting candles. Kidd seemed to take notice of your amused face, snaking a hand over your waist and trailing to knead the plush of your hip. The sudden affection wasn’t unwelcome but it was admittedly uncomfortable in front of his friends. You gently removed his hand, attempting to place a quick peck on his lips to satiate him when he drunkenly stumbled until your back was against the top bar. Your hands instinctively met his chest, firmly pushing him back in an attempt to stop the barrage of kisses he was aiming to litter across your neck. The scent of liquor was intense and you could feel patches of lipstick being smeared across your skin by his imprecise movements. He groaned in annoyance when you used the leverage on his chest to push yourself away, effectively freeing yourself from his grasp.
“Not right now…”, you said in a stern but calm tone, aiming to diffuse the situation and redirect his attention back to his people.
“Goddammit (Y/N)!”, he yelled out rather loudly, taking you and several others by surprise, “You’re not drinking, you won’t kiss me, what the fuck? Why are you even here?”
Shock coursed through your body like fire, your ears burning as anger and embarrassment crested within you. This was your first time out as some undefined semblance of a couple, even more pressing that the night was supposed to be focused on Killer but Kidd was making a scene out of the two of you. You stood totally frozen as he stalked his way to the other side of the top bar, seeming to reintegrate with his crew just as quickly as he’d blown up. Everyone refused to look at you and you began to feel totally out of place, just like the first time you’d met. You knew that his actions were the result of the alcohol, but it didn’t ease any of the feelings hurt by his behavior. It was too much and with no one to turn to, you opted to just leave. It seemed like the best option as it would preserve the remainder of Killer’s birthday and give Kidd time to sober up.
As you reached the edge of where the parking lot met the main road, you listlessly scrolled through your contacts in search of someone who might be able to pick you up. You heard the door of the bar be thrown open and slammed shut. You couldn’t turn to face whoever it was, far too focused on keeping yourself together and preventing the already welling tears from falling. Footsteps that were far too light to be Kidd’s drew closer, stopping when they reached your immediate proximity.
“Are you alright?”, the voice was familiar, one that you hadn’t heard in a while.
Hip had a sad smile on her face, reaching out to place a comforting hand on your back. Her presence caused a whiplash of emotions. She’d been avoiding you consistently for so long that you’d long considered your friendship to be over.
“I will be.”, you answered honestly, feeling no need to mask your feelings, “I think I should just go… This night was supposed to be for Killer and we can’t talk while he’s drunk anyway.”
“I can take you home… I mean, if you’d be comfortable with that.”, Hip offered with hopeful eyes, appearing very genuine in her concern for your wellbeing.
You felt a sense of reluctance but accepted in spite of the awkwardness, feeling a sick sense of nostalgia washing over you as you sunk into her passenger seat. This was a disgustingly familiar experience, all too closely resembling the night she’d first convinced you to meet her and her friends at the establishment. Both nights revolved around Kidd’s actions, only occurring in drastic dissonance from one another.
“I know this probably isn’t the best time, but I’m sorry for being so distant.”, Hip broke the silence that had settled between the two of you, “I don’t regret bringing you to meet everyone but I have to be honest, I didn’t know what to do when Kidd told us he was interested in you.”
“What do you mean?”, you asked, her confession entirely too perplexing and not exactly helping you feel any better about the situation at hand.
“He is completely unconnected from his feelings and has a tendency to string his partners along. I’ve watched it happen so many damn times and I know it’s not something that he sets out to do, but something like what happened tonight is almost always inevitable. He starts fucking someone and let’s it go way too far.”, she explained as a feeling akin to repulsion bubbled beneath your skin, “I didn’t want you to end up in that position with him, but I didn’t know how to tell you without coming off like I just didn’t want the two of you to be together. I love Kidd, he’s a great friend and a great person, he just isn’t great in a relationship.”
“I care about Kidd a lot and I have to be honest Hip, gratification isn’t a major focus in our relationship. We’ve spent a hell of a lot more time getting to know each other and just enjoying each other’s company. I know that I don’t know him like you do, but I would be hard pressed to think that all of this has meant nothing to him.”, you stood your ground against her concerns, despite his actions you still believed that he cared for you in a meaningful way.
Her best efforts to not come across as abrasive were failing. You weren’t completely opposed to the idea that some of her words held merit but it was no easy feat to even slightly consider the possibility that Kidd wasn’t as interested in you as he’d led on. Not only had the two of you forged a physical connection, you’d also shared very intimate details of your pasts and what you’d both like to see in the future. You were always happy to listen to him and it felt like you’d gotten to know parts of him that no one else ever had.
“Has he ever mentioned Victoria?”, Hip asked after several quiet minutes.
“No, he hasn’t.”, your chest tightened with the realization you might not have actually known him as well as you’d thought, “Who’s Victoria?”
“She was Kidd’s girlfriend a long time ago and they didn’t work out.”, Hip explained, “Not long after they broke up, she got in an accident and… She didn’t make it.”
You sat silently, trying to make sense of what Hip was saying. That was one hell of a detail of his life that Kidd had never mentioned. He’d lightly brought up his past experiences with partners who just weren’t compatible, but not at all something as major as a love lost.
“It happened a few years ago… He’s never really been the same since. He still hangs out with the group, but it’s only because we were around before Victoria. If we weren’t, he would’ve pushed us all away too.”, Hip continued, “He and Killer have known each other their whole lives so he’s the exception but I’m telling you, I know he wouldn’t have anything to do with us otherwise.”
“You have to understand that It’s hard for me to even begin thinking that way. He’s only ever had nice things to say and has made it a point that he’s wanted to spend more time with all of you.”, you defended him, beginning to wonder if it wasn’t just a way to reassure yourself, “Just the other day, he was telling me about how excited he was for tonight because it’d been a while since the last time your whole group was together under the same roof.”
“I don’t know… I’m sorry this is all so heavy, I just felt like telling you was the right thing to do. I don’t want you to be hurt in the process of Kidd trying to figure his own shit out. Like I’ve said before, he’s a great friend, but that’s as far as I can defend his character.”, she reiterated her point as she pulled into your driveway.
“Thanks for bringing me home, I appreciate it.”, you thanked her rather awkwardly, still fighting the lingering twinges of anger from the immense doubt she displayed in response to your relationship with Kidd.
“You’re welcome.”, she reciprocated as you stepped out of the car, “I know everything I’ve said has been hard to hear, just please think long and hard about what you want and what you won’t ever find with him. I hate to say it, but I’ve seen this happen too many times before.”
“Goodnight Hip.”, you dismissed her and carried yourself inside, running over every detail of what she’d said.
What you wanted was as a future with him in it, no matter what that may look like. As much as you loathed the attribution, there was at least some tangibility to her words when considering the events of the night. You were certainly hurt and saddened by his actions, but that didn’t mean you weren’t willing to work through the rough patch with him. If he was only stringing you along, he had a particularly sick and twisted way of doing it. What would be the point of pouring the most intimate details of his life into you, only to walk away when he was bored?
You couldn’t ignore what Hip had revealed about Victoria, but you wished Kidd had just told you himself. He might not have been ready or known how to tell you, it was a very traumatic event and one that involved an ex-partner which wasn’t particularly suited to your own developing relationship afterall. By the time you’d reached the comfort of your bed, exhaustion had pronounced itself and immediately took hold when your head hit the pillow. You slept through the incessant buzzing of your cellphone as an innumerable amount of texts and calls flooded in throughout the night, all coming from the same person.
