RIP Queen Elizabeth II

The queen is dead. She died at Balmoral castle surrounded by her family. this ends an eye-watering 70-year reign- the longest in British history. Whether you thought Good, Bad, or have no real opinion of her, I ask that as you mourn, celebrate, or don't care either way. You bear in mind first and foremost that a family has lost a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother today. I'm not a royalist, but it kind of feels like I lost a grandmother figure from my life. I feel sad about it even though I never met her, but I did feel her influence growing up. The queen was there as a constant in England for 70 years. It's a bit of an adjustment to think she is gone, even though it's not a surprise, she was 96. So please as you react to her death, please be kind and remember this will impact people differently some people are mourning and need time before they can laugh.
