The Magpies take on the Red Devils in St. James Park at 2000
FIRST HALF +1
HALF-TIME
SECOND HALF +9
FINAL
NUFC move up to 5th on the EPL table!! HUZZAH
Bits and Bobs from St. James Park
Eddie's pre-game thoughts:
Howe's pre-match message: "I hope the atmosphere is unchanged to what it has been at home for a long time - it’s been incredible. I hope the temperature won’t affect what we need to create today because we really need that." #NUFC
Newcastle unchanged - unsurprisingly!
Eddie Howe has limited options as the injury crisis continues - so it's no surprise to see no changes from Tuesday's PSG clash.
Anthony Martial leads the line for the visitors. The back four is Wan-Bissaka, Dalot, Maguire and Shaw... unsure who is partnering Maguire at the heart of the defence but it appears to be Shaw?
Newcastle bench
NUFC subs: Dubravka, Karius, Dummett, Ritchie, Krafth, Hall, Diallo, Murphy, Parkinson.
Newcastle Squad
NUFC XI: Pope, Trippier, Lascelles, Schar, Livramento; Miley, Bruno, Joelinton; Almiron, Gordon, Isak. Unchanged
Evening, Tripps!
If you're arriving here tonight - wrap up warm!
Who gets your vote?
Man Utd travel trouble
Manchester United have had a disrupted travel to the north east today after their planned flight to Newcastle was cancelled at the very last minute with the players having already driven to the airport.
Cedric arrived back from The Scottish Borders a bit after 1500. The B roads were a mess! Needless to say he is knackered. We all pitched in to get Coffee Pot settled, dis-attached the trailer and unloaded the Nissan.
Cedric reports that the farmer is all set for the winter and was most grateful for Cedric's time and energy!
For that we all deserve two...
Enjoy the match!

Match Review: Newcastle United 1-0 Manchester United
Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes were our standouts tonight, with decent performances from Mainoo and Garnacho, but otherwise it was another shitshow from United and a boring defeat.
Marcus Rashford had one of his worst games for United. Anthony Martial is an empty shirt. Scott McTominay cannot be starting with his lack of willing to be in possession. He's scared of the ball and stands in positions you cannot reach him in. You cannot carry three players and expect to draw, let alone win. Fuck me sideways.
Newcastle in contrast looked comfortable, despite all their injuries. The home advantage helps but that wasn't a big factor tonight. It was how well drilled they are. They have visible, regular patterns of play. They put in a shift, and that's down to Eddie Howe.
In contrast, the Red Devils seemed half a second off every bit of play and I don't know if we ever won a second ball all game. Half of this falls on the players, but half falls on Erik Ten Hag. Are we setting high enough standards in training? Are we giving appropriate coaching? Or are players doing it behind closed doors then forgetting how to play ball once they're on the field?
Something isn't right STILL with Manchester United, and it's fucking infuriating. It's almost 2024 and we're still at the point of questioning whether Manchester United need another clear-out. There's a handful of players I'd fight to keep right now, but the majority of the squad I'd have no qualms about leaving. That's a damning indictment. This is approaching Football Manager levels of overhaul, and showcases exactly why the Glazers are shit and why proper football leadership (directors and advisors etc) are a must-have.

Just finished watching Newcastle/Aston Villa highlights, goodness me they’re gonna be fun to watch this season. I would’ve put Eddie Howe at Arsenal and they looked more like the old school Gunners today than Arsenal.

A team of dudes who look like that
On Lewis Hall going to Newcastle:
Brother: I feel like with their manager and Gordon, they are trying to form a team of dudes who look like that.
Me: Yeah, Hall really does look like he could be old Josh Hutcherson's son. Seriously, I can't remember his name. Eddie Howe.

I see you.. You're an Eddie fan too? 😍
I didn't see the game yesterday to comment, it wasn't a live game
I love Eddie! He's handsome, sweet gentle and a great manager ❤🥺 I was so sad when Bournemouth were relegated, but I was thrilled for him when he got the Newcastle job and with the success they're achieving now. (Except for the fact that they're on our backs pointwise 😭)
Which game? 😅

Bruno and Anthony could (maybe small chance possibly) play against each other (for ten minutes at the end of he’s subbed on. I don’t mean Bruno).
On Eddie Howe: “I think it’s him understanding me, his man management is at a really good level…. I think he understood what I needed at that time (after game vs Brentford) … I’m really passionate and he’s the same.
He’s so determined as a person, so I think he could see that fire in me. Which is not a bad thing, it just needs some guidance, especially at a young age. He was the right man to guide me. So I’m really thankful he was my manager at that time.
And as I’ve said before he’s guided me into being a much more mature level headed person. But also keeping that fire. “
Awww Eddie 😍
