Isn't it wild that the only games where Luigi makes robots is Super Paper Mario and Mario + Rabbids and yet this is a key character trait to me

Luigi's Mansion 3
I completed this a couple of days ago and I enjoyed it. Being a big Boo fan, I approve of Hellen's sense of decor. I'm not sure if its been explained in previous games the difference between Boos and ghosts but I am guessing Boos are a spectral species and ghosts are dead people.

I enjoyed the unique twist on the horror game genre. Usually you are experiencing the terrors along with your character, but in this, you are having fun and solving puzzles whilst Luigi experiences the terrors.
I would add that I hated Professor E. Gadd. Why is he sucking up ghosts and Boos and imprisoning them? No wonder King Boo is pissed as both himself and his people are being hunted and imprisoned by some mad scientist. I think E. Gadd is creepy and a villain. Not evil, as he does nice things but he certainly sees Boos and ghosts as things he can just collect and imprison rather than as sentient, feeling, people with lives and free will.

Overall I really liked this game and can't wait for the remastered Luigi's Mansion 2 to come out later this year on Switch.

I really want to see Luigi call out E-Gadd but not in a way that Luigi just thinks about it before he hesitantly goes to him to do so in his lab cause that will lead to gaslighting.
Instead, I want Luigi to be in another ghost hunt but this time, he acts differently out of curiosity after. Instead of having his poltergust at the ready, he makes himself to not be a threat and makes conversation with the ghosts, which confuses them but they go along to see where this will go. They start to enjoy his company and get friendly with him. Then the boos, especially if they are of King Boo. He treats them to boo candy and after they become more happy from their sweet treat, he plays with them and the frights he gets from them don't make him panic as they are with playful intentions.
E-Gadd isn't happy that he captured no ghosts and is playing with them so he calls Luigi and starts bitching at him, interrupting the playtime and upsetting the boos, reminding them that they are meant to be enemies.
Luigi finally had enough and calls out E-Gadd, his words rolling off his tongue like water, the old man can't even get a word in and is shocked. After about 30 minutes of this, Luigi hangs up without another word and doesn't pick it up again, using the ringtone to dance with the boos even. He feels good after it, he realizes, he stood up to what he felt was right and could prove it.
Okay, that might be a hot take here : as much as I love the idea of Luigi befriending ghosts, and as much as I like poking fun of E.Gadd's sociopathic tendencies, I don't think E.Gadd would be that antagonising toward Luigi over ghosts.
After all in LM2 we see him start his day working happily with ghosts (granted, you could debate on whether the Dark Moon is a good thing or a mind-controlling stone he's used to keep ghosts in check) and in both LM2 and LM3, he's the first to rejoice when the ghosts stop being agressive. So while it makes for a good villain, it feels a bit unfair to shove it into that role, you know ?
Hear me out on what I suggest for this scenario
Maybe E.Gadd is chill with most ghosts, except Boos (which makes sense given how their king has treated him), so he's more cranky and unforgiving when it comes to Boos specifically.
Another option : it's not that E.Gadd is cruel, but for the man, science goes before everything : if he can test something on Luigi without his permission and he thinks it's worth it, he won't blink twice about it. So maybe Luigi would be asked to do something that even with his issues with Boos, he finds cruel to do, and that's where the rift starts.
Alternatively : maybe E.Gadd teams up or invites another ghost hunter/researcher, but that other person is even worse than E.Gadd, finding even sweet Polterpup a nuisance to neutralize. And Luigi is forced to obey this person but comes to realize even E.Gadd isn't such a jerk when dealing with ghosts, which makes *him* reconsider how he has treated ghosts so far.
In any case, I'd like to think that with his experience and thanks to Polterpup, he comes to realize that a lot of ghosts are pranksters at heart, especially Boos, and if you clap back as much as they do, they're less likely to be hostile.

Okay, so you mentioned that Hal was "Humanflesh and machine" in one of your posts. And Hal has E.Gadd's logo printed on his arm. Which implies that E.Gadd created Hal. And this also implies that E.Gadd has commited murder. Which means that at some point, somebody was bleeding out on the floor, with the last face they saw before dying being this:

Around thirty years before the Mario Brothers had their fateful encounter with a Warp Pipe below Brooklyn, a scientist in Manhattan had begun his extensive research into the paranormal. The scientist, Professor Elvin Gadd, had set up base in the Shandor Apartments located on 55 Central Park West, which were famous by then for their reported paranormal activity. His various studies of the strange energies that radiated from the area eventually led Gadd to a blocked off section deep in the building's basement levels, in which he discovered a pipe. Armed with the equipment he'd managed to engineer thus far, Gadd was pulled through to a desolate area not unlike what Luigi would fall into years later. Possibly even the same one, suggesting Luigi landed there due to the Shandor Apartments and Brooklyn Sewers pipes crossing streams when the brothers fell through them.
Scared yet intrigued, the paranormal investigator took the time to observe and scan this strange world he fell into. When Dry Bones burst forth to try to drag the professor down, Gadd was taken off guard initially, but hastily managed to retrieve a prototype ghost-capture mechanism he built into a handheld vacuum, aiming it at one of the Dry Bones and activating it. The spirit of the Koopa Troopa was yanked out of the Dry Bones, sucked into the handheld vacuum as the bones left behind fell lifelessly to the scorched earth below. Gadd turned around, pointing the vacuum wildly towards all the other Dry Bones that surrounded him as if to say, "Who else wants some?" All the remaining Dry Bones took the hint and ran away screaming.
Anon your brain O_O
This would make a perfect E.Gadd story!

I recently got Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon and I gotta say, I really like the game.
It has good graphics and I love Luigi's little mannerisms and personality in the cutscenes.
I also like the music and the different locations and their different themes and puzzles (although I'll admit, there were like 4 I got stumped on).
And sure, even though there's some stuff that people disagree on (the mission style, E.Gadd calling etc), it's still a solid game and a worthy sequel (imo).
Also, boos look so squishy in this game, they're so adorable (imo).
Like, I feel almost kinda bad sucking them into the poltergust, but the animation of them plinking around like a pinball is hilarious to see.

Purpl-fuck, shit, sorry, E. Gadd, I meant E. Gadd., hahahhaha
Headcanon A: He really does care about Luigi a lot but couldn't give less of a shit about Mario. After the events of LM3 he keeps Gooigi with him but he's just not the same. He doesn't have nearly as much emotional attachment to Gooigi than he does to Luigi (he sees gooigi more as a tool despite him being sentient, sad!) he does a shit job at showing how much he cares about luigi 👍. also maaaaybe he's overheard too many toads shit talk luigi which is why he doesn't give two shits about his toad assistants unless they have something important.
Headcanon B: He's jealous that King Boo is obsessed with Luigi instead of him. Luigi was made aware of this and is really confused and annoyed by this. "man my favorite boo likes you better than me :o(" "he wants me in a painting for all eternity???" ":o("
Headcanon C: dawg idk, there isnt a single bone in e.gadd's body that has angst he's a vibing old man that's satisfied with the life of science—he's the man behind the slaughter. maybe he's a bit worried luigi doesn't like him because of how unethical he is but that doesn't bother him for more than 2 seconds
Headcanon D: He has the data of Luigi's DNA saved and on the off-chance luigi dies before him he'll straight up make a copy of Luigi he probably has a "make a luigi" button somewhere handy. He does weekly "checkups" with Luigi where he's really just backing up Luigi's brain to his computer this man does not want Luigi to die before him that's just not allowed. this guy's kinda lonely and hangs out with no one else but ghosts he cant just have his only alive friend die on him y'know?
