Dwalin: Okay! Enough! No more talking about Bilbo!
Thorin: But you said to get it out of my system.

"You..!"
A deep, threatening and rough voice bounced against the walls of the passages.
Not much further ahead was a woman, pushing a man of what looked like a high status to the side. She was running like a madwoman, fleeing from what people would think; the devil.
That woman is you. Yes you; surprising, isn't it?
What did you do to get yourself ending up in this peculiar predicament, you probably wonder?
Well then, no need to look further nor to scroll down to nitpick every sentence in this story to make even the slightest sense of what's going on in this world of chaos. It shall all be explained right here and now!
If you didn't care nor wonder what, how, and why this all happened, then too bad! You have no power over this story! Haha, take that!
Ahem, anyway...It all happened at a feast around midnight before all this chaos came to be.
*(*)*(*)*
Fili and Kili dragged you with them. The blonde prince led the way as the younger brother pulled you with them.
They had been spouting stuff about "the greatest idea ever." and "going in the history books for being the legendary mischief-makers." Or something like that. You didn't really listen, like at all, only perking up and paying a biiit more attention when they mentioned 'you' and 'food.'
Were you getting an all-you-can-eat-buffet?
Aww, such sweethearts! They shouldn't have.
Weelll, you did deserve it, after all. Going along on this journey and defeating a dragon is not an easy feat. They should make you an entire statue while they're at it!
Yes, one right next to the entrance so all visitors and passers-by could see you and know of your magnificent and heroic deeds.
You mentally patted yourself on the back. The look on your face was a mix of smugness and pride.
But you were forgetting one small itty bitty detail (or two) in your only sliiightly intoxicated state:
You weren't the sole hero who slew the dragon. You already got your fair share of the reward: a high status in the kingdom - a place in the High Court of the company who went on that dragon-slaying quest - and a luxurious comfy home included. And not to forget the gold you were promised. Thorin also offered work in a high place in the kingdom like a royal scholar or something, but you gracefully declined. You liked working in the toy shop with Bofur and Bifur - so...no statue for you.
But you didn't remember that.
You snapped out of your daydreams when Fili softly helped you to sit down on your bed.
How did you get here in the first place?
"Are you alright Y/N?"
Fili or Kili, you don't know which one as they looked the same to you at the moment, wiggling in front of you with their two clones.
When did they become a quadruplet?
"Y/N?"
Oh yeah, you still needed to answer them.
"...'M fiiinee."
You managed to slur out with difficulty, sleepiness slowly taking over. The brain cells were already going to bed, leaving behind a heavily drunken brain to operate the whole system.
What could go wrong, am I right?
...A lot.
*(*)*(*)*
"Ugh, stupid hangover..."
You moaned, resting your chin on the edge of the bucket pathetically.
You felt like you died and came back to life again, moaning over a bucket you desperately tried not to look into, for you knew the meal you had yesterday would not be a pretty sight.
At least you could tell what was up and down...yay for you...
You didn’t forget that you had somehow convinced Fili and Kili you were really fine and totally not wasted. How was beyond you, and you were not in the mood to figure it out.
Maybe they were also drunk or just took advantage of your pickled state. Yeah, they would do that to guilt-trip you into going along with their prank. They knew you never break a promise, even if you made it in your totally half-sober state. They were too cunning for their own and others’ - mostly others’ - good.
Anyway, somehow (not surprisingly) without knowing what you were getting into, you had nodded along with everything they had said.
You vaguely remember Kili or Fili tucking you in and saying goodnight.
Note to self: Never try to win against Bofur - or any dwarf for that matter - in a drinking match ever again.
You chastised yourself while staggering towards your wardrobe.  How late would Fili or Kili pick you up to set his prank in motion? You didn’t even care which one it was - you hated them both at the moment...Okay, who are you kidding; you would do the same thing again in a heartbeat for either of them. And of course, they would give poor little you the hardest and most dangerous job to fulfil... Great. Just peachy.
Sigh.
Let's get this whole shenanigan over with, dammit. They’d better sing tales and praises about you once this is over.
Not long after you put some clothes on, The two brothers barged into your chamber, loud and boisterous as ever. How they both could be so lively in the morning (with probably a hangover too) was beyond you.
"...Stupid dwarf genes..."
You mumbled to yourself as you let the two princes drag you to the training hall with their arms hooked around yours on either side.
You felt dread pool inside your stomach as you got closer to the training hall.
Now, normally you loved the training hall. After all, it was the front row seat to a heavenly sight of young warriors and their amazing muscles being put to use in a workout. Not to forget there was one dwarf in particular who you just loved to watch while he flexed his muscles by throwing other dwarves around.
But right now, you feared it with a burning passion, for that place was undoubtedly the place where you would meet your inevitable doom.
"Don't worry dear Y/N, it's gonna be fun!"
Kili spoke up happily, seeming to notice your unease Oh, how you would love to give him the big finger. But knowing Kili, he would drop you for the fun of it and make a whole drama show out of it, gasping and acting like a stereotypical blonde rich girl, one who just overheard the most scandalous gossip about herself. You cursed yourself for showing Kili how to be a true drama queen. (Prince, in his case, but you get the point.) The traitor uses all those tricks against you every chance he gets. You could just kick yourself for being so stupid to show him the ropes. What's worse is that if you would put Kili in a dress he would be the definition of a diva! How he does it?
No one knows!
Why couldn't you just say no and walk away?
"Because you're too nice to leave your favourite dwarves hanging, Y/N. You promised you would help." Kili said. Technically, your autopilot did, not you. Unfortunately for you, Kili was right. You wouldn't leave him hanging.
You glared at Kili and the stupid cheeky grin he gave you. You would have rolled your eyes at him if that wouldn't hurt as much as it did, so you decided to roll your eyes mentally instead.
Wait...did you just say that out loud?
"Yes, yes you did."
"Fu-"
*(*)*(*)*
After what seemed like ages Fili and Kili had finally managed to drag your miserable self to the big wooden doors of the training hall. You had given up the struggle after the longest ten minutes of your life, deciding to formulate a master escape plan before you would reach the training halls. Unfortunately for you, it was too late. You threw your carefully thought-out plan down the drain when Kili accidentally slammed the door against the wall too loud when he kicked it open with his boot.
Still having his arm looped around your's, mind you.
Everyone and everything quieted down for just a moment. Heads turned towards the entrance where they were all, no doubt about it, greeted with a comical sight.
Fili and Kili, obnoxious as always and wicked smiles on their faces (and everyone who even remotely knew the young princes, grasped that the two were up to no good.)
dragged a very anxious looking you with them. One would guess you were about to be sacrificed as a dragon's dinner.  Which you were, in your opinion.
"Come on Y/N,  time to teach you how to disarm opponents," Fili said, leading the way to a part of the area where a couple of young dwarves were thrown on the ground by one dwarf in particular, one you came to recognise as the hottest and grumpiest dwarf in all of Grump Town. And oh boy, you were not ready to get destroyed by him, and you showed it, too, pulling and protesting and cursing at everything that lived.
How you wished you could tell people that you managed to free yourself from the boy's grasp and run for the hills.
Sadly, that wish didn't come true; God hated you or something, for Fili and Kili  - those little rascals - managed to push you right into Dwalin.
You didn't know if Dwalin catching you was a blessing or a curse. What you did know, however, was that you most definitely were blushing, if your burning cheeks were anything to go off of.
Dwalin was shirtless... His strong, hairy arms encircled your waist delicately, and you were practically pressed against his chest...
Against his strong, warm and bushy dwarven chest.
The scent of sweat, smoke and a vague hint of cookie dough entered your nose, and it strangely made you feel at home.
You were a goner, yep completely gone, nobody's home. Come back later or leave a message after the beep for Y/N dot exe has stopped working and took a vacation to cloud nine.
Sadly, your cloud nine had been sucked away too quickly by the dwarf himself who put you there in the first place.
Dwalin, being the grump that he is, grunted at you and pushed you back on your feet as if you had burned him!
"Rude much," you grumbled once you managed to keep your balance, dusting yourself off.
Dwalin (the ass) only grunted in return. Him and his damn grunts.
You ain't special enough for him to form a full sentence for you, now?
Fine, if he was gonna play it that way then, you were gonna give it to him back tenfold.
Screw consequences, the dick deserved this. You were gonna go all out.
You turned around and stuck your tongue out like a real child woman.
Fili and Kili started to giggle behind you, getting quiet real quick when they saw Dwalin glaring daggers at them.
You marched towards the two princes, whispering four words as you moved past them.
"Let's do this shit."
The boys definitely heard you, for their grins turned wicked.
One glance and you knew what was about to come. If being the two princes’ guinea pig for pranks with poor Bilbo the entire journey taught you anything, it would be to recognize the twinkle in their eyes.
It spoke in volumes louder than any dragon could roar; chaos was about to unfold, both in their brains (as they looked each other in the eye) and soon, in reality. You looked slightly over your shoulder.
Yeah, they were scheming alright, communicating with that brotherly bond they share or something.
Watch out Dwalin:
This. Is. War.
*(*)*(*)*
ShitshitshitshitSHIT!
Oh, how you came to regret tripping Dwalin up. In your defence, it wasn't your fault that he couldn't take his dark eyes off of you when you pulled your shirt off because the heat was getting too hot to handle.
Wink wonk.
Hey, at least you wore a white undershirt. One which clung to your breasts tightly. Yeah, that'll give him something to look at.
Anyway!
It wasn't your fault, either, when Dwalin marched towards you with purpose in his steps when you bent over to grab a dagger off the ground, showing him your assets in the process.
It was his fault, really! He should've noticed that Fili and Kili were waiting for him to stand on the grey X. And now you were running for your life with a very, very angry dwarf (who was covered in white glue and colourful feathers) on your heels. Thanks for everything, Kili. Thanks for shrieking out, "Y/N planned it!" The moment Dwalin glared at them...
The snitch.
You pushed dwarves to the side as you ran for your life, screaming sorry as you went, because you are a polite gentlelady. Dwarves watched you go with wide eyes, confused as heck as Dwalin stormed past them not long after.
Most of the time, you were glad they made the hallways mainly one straight line, but now? You cursed its existence and its creator.
There was unquestionably no doubt about it that Dwalin would catch up. Curse you and your hate of exercise.
You should have taken Gloin's offer of jogging with him when you had the chance, but Bombur's pastries were too tempting to pass up on at the time.
And now here you were, fleeing like the devil was behind you, with burning lungs and protesting legs. You were afraid to glance back; you could almost feel your pursuer’s breath go down your neck. You silently prayed to all the deities above and beneath you to help you out, and it seemed one took pity on your little mortal soul. For the moment you finished your prayer, you were rewarded with two things: two dwarves carrying barrels, and a small corridor you almost missed if it hadn't been for someone came out of said corridor.
You took the opportunity without hesitation and slammed against the two unexpecting dwarves, who dropped the barrels in surprise. You managed to slip past them before the barrels hit the ground - like freaking Indiana Jones - skidding through the corridor with a sharp turn.
Without a second wasted, you pressed yourself against the wall like a ninja on a mission and held your breath. This was the moment of truth. There were two possibilities: either Dwalin wasn't fooled by the stunt, or he runs right by you. You prayed for the latter.
Lo and behold, for your prayers have been answered again! The deities really loved you at this moment, or just had lots of pity for you.
Dwalin ran past the corridor.
You let out the biggest sigh of relief in your life Patting yourself on the back, you turned around with a smile... Only to come face to face with the king of the mountain. The smug-ass had a knowing smirk on his face.
Shitpopcicles...
"Why are you so out of breath Y/N? You look as if a warg was on your heels." the smirk faltered as Thorin rubbed at his chin as if he were thinking.
The grin returned tenfold. "Is a certain dwarf chasing you, perhaps...?" His voice was teasing; he dang well knew why.
Oh, how you wished you could smack that smirk off his face, but sadly that was not a good idea. The bugger knows about your crush on Dwalin and teases you often.
He found out about it during the journey and he had always put you and Dwalin on watch together.
He shipped it, you just knew he did.
You pointed a threatening finger towards him. "Watch out, boy." You were close enough to Thorin to be the only one allowed to do something like this.
"Or this little lady won't hesitate to tell the whole damn mountain and a certain someone that you have a crush on a certain hobbit."
His face stayed the same - stoic and not moving - but you saw it at his softly reddening cheeks that your suspicions had been right. You grinned victoriously at Thorin, who stood there without uttering a word. Serves him right! Now you had blackmail. Internally, you were cackling evilly.
Your body froze while Thorin opened his mouth to speak. You felt as if Hell had just frozen over for that's when you heard it:
"You...!"
It sounded like thunder rumbling. Deep, rough and threatening. You would have totally been turned on if you weren't scared for your life.
Dwarfzilla was coming...
Without noticing it, you pushed Thorin to the side and ran like a madwoman. This is how it all happened. Now you're all caught up, so let's continue.
Fili and Kili had better sing tales about you after this.
You turned many corners and hallways, zooming past Dwarves who flushed themselves against the narrow walls in haste as you ran past them.
Some of them called out to you, but you couldn't hear what they said; Being chased doesn't really give you the time to stop and listen to what they had to say, now does it?
At one point, you began to notice the path becoming disproportionate and rough. Stones stuck out of the floor and walls. You tripped over a couple of those, those little buggers. Soon, it was as if you weren't in a hallway anymore, but in a cave instead.
Dwalin had been calling out to you after a while of running through the cave-like hallway. But the thing was, he didn't sound angry anymore.
He sounded worried, desperate even, which was very much out of character for Dwalin, to be honest...
Sadly, you hadn't had the time to realize why Dwalin acted the way he did before you dropped down a hole in the floor with a yelp. At least you found out why he was so concerned.
What a great day...
*(*)*(*)*
A short cry reverberated throughout the chamber, and a high pitched voice followed after.
"Could you be more gentle!?"
You glared at Dwalin, who like always, grunted his replies instead of talking like a normal Dwarf-being!
Though he did what you asked and rubbed the ointment on your bruises more gently, which felt like heaven on your sore skin...
You felt absolutely stupid, sitting on a wooden bench with Dwalin treating your bruises and wounds. (Oin was too busy to do it himself so he shoved ointment in Dwalin's hand. The other was holding you at that moment, for Dwalin wouldn't allow you to walk yourself. Oin said that Dwalin should do it before promptly leaving.) Dwalin had to pull you out of the hole, though he spoke more words than he had said to you this entire day. You counted that as a victory.
You still felt your heart flutter every time you thought about it: He had been extremely gentle, lifting you out of the hole with both his arms. Cradling you to his chest while muttering in dwarvish. Checking all over your body before caressing the back of your head and pressing it against his shoulder as he held you close. This time, you understood his mumbles: "Thank Mahal, yer safe," his voice was so quiet, wavering with raw emotion;
"never do anything like that ever again, ya hear me."
Dwalin was still shirtless and covered in glue and feathers during the entire ordeal.
Your heart had skipped multiple beats right then and there, cheeks flushed red. You had been trying to process those words the entire way to Oin. Still trying to figure out the meaning behind the words he uttered with such intensity.
You were brought out of your trance by Dwalin tapping on your shoulder, you looked over to see him staring at you, "Lift yer left foot."
You did as he asked, lifting your foot. Dwalin grasped it gently in one hand as he removed the boot delicately. If this was in a different situation, it would have been very intimate. No, wait, scratch that; it's intimate even now, which was not good for your heart, which was doing summersaults inside your chest. Yep, you were screwed...
So badly, and heavenly screwed.
Yet you couldn't find it in yourself to really mind.
Once Dwalin removed the boot and sock, he started to massage your foot with ointment, muttering to himself. "Why did ya let yerself be dragged in the princes' pranks."
It wasn't a question, but you answered anyway, "Those princes made me promise to help them out when I was drunk- don't look at me like that Dwalin! You know I never break promises, even if I made them while I was drunk."
He averted his eyes, stilling his ministrations slightly. "Ya need to learn to say no."
His voice was almost too soft to hear, but you did.
You huffed in return, "I'm getting better at it though! I said no to Fleder-Fledder something when he tried to get me to marry him!"
Dwalin chuckled, "Aye ya did. Ya kicked him good in the nuts."
"Well, he deserved it, I didn't even know him and wouldn't take no for an answer, so I had to make it clear."
You grinned at Dwalin as he shook his head, a smirk on his face.
Your eyes turned soft, remembering how Dwalin had positioned himself between the man and you when the man tried to grab you by the neck. Your hero had glared at the man fiercely, threatening to gut him with his axe if he didn't take the hint and shove off.
The man had pissed himself before he had sprinted off, too scared to utter a single word.
You had hugged Dwalin to thank him and since then, he only acknowledged you with grunts... That was the day before the feast.
Balin had said not to take it personally, that Dwalin needed time to sort himself out. But damn was it hard to not take it to heart.
"Why did you do it?"
The dam broke, spilling your most inner thoughts. Fumbling with your fingers, you stared at the ground, missing the confused look on Dwalin's face. "What?"
"Why did you ignore me after I hugged you?"
You were not gonna beat around the bush with this one. You made your bed, and now you need to lie in it.
"You didn't acknowledge me for three days. Balin said to give you space, so I did. But damnit Dwalin, you ignored me for three days! Why?"
You didn't mean for your voice to crack when you looked him in the eyes. You didn't mean for the tear to slip past. Dwalin's eyes widened in return. Very slightly, but you noticed. He averted his gaze to the ground for a second, placing your foot down gently and then looked up into your eyes.
"I...I got confused," he began, eyes full with emotions, some you couldn't even place. "I got confused...Emotions which I thought I had buried deep down, long ago resurfaced..." you blinked. Were his eyes getting glassy?
"They resurfaced tenfold. I didn't know what to do or think… I didn't think," he grabbed your hand in his delicately, tracing the skin with his thumb, never taking his eyes off you even once. "I threw up my walls in a panic, I shouldn't have, but I did..." he took in a deep breath. "Hurting those dear to me." Dwalin pressed his lips against your hand, it was gentle and soft. Butterflies fluttered inside your stomach.
"Y/N, lass, I truly regret putting ya through such pain. Could you forgive this fool of a dwarf?" He whispered, staring at you with pleading eyes.
You did what everyone would do in this situation.
You hit him on the head and yelled, "you idiot!!" and slapped against his chest multiple times. "I thought you hated me...!" Dwalin grabbed you by the waist and raised you into the air without much problem. He stared into your eyes with passion as he uttered one word.
"Never."
The two of you were only a small length apart. Without hesitating, you closed the distance, pressing your lips against his. He passionately returned the kiss, both of you closing your eyes as you relished the feeling of each other.
Yeah, you were on cloud nine alright. The touch of Dwalin's hands holding you so gently set your skin aflame. You could get used to this.
Parting to gasp for air, you glanced at Dwalin's face. Eyes lidded, and mouth slightly open. You smirked then, leaning in, you brushed your lips lightly against his.
He groaned in return.
"Yer doing things to me, lass," he pressed his head against yours, his eyes soft as he looked at you. "Be mine?"
You only nodded, leaning in for another kiss to seal the promise.
Yeah, today was a great day...

Chapter 7: Returning to the scene of the crime

Archive Link- https://archiveofourown.org/works/10027448/chapters/57583708#workskin
Summary- Ori and Bilbo return to school unsure exactly how they are going to handle their new situation or their old bullies. Not to worry the older boys have something in mind that is of course until an old friend of Thorin shows up.
Hey all, here’s the newest from my mind, please keep in mind that I do have dyslexia and I really do try to fix all spelling mistakes but some will always slip through. If you spot some please let me know and I will do my best to correct it. Thank you.
Dwalin woke despite himself at four thirty to a quiet and dark house. He was still tired but just so accustomed to getting up with his father that he failed to fall back asleep. So, he contented himself with lying next to Ori who had turned toward him in the night and the red head looked unreasonably cute with his hair all tufted up from sleep, his mouth dropped open just a bit that allowed a small trail of drool to slid down his chin on the right side. Dwalin held a finger above Ori’s nose for a moment before gently poking it; Ori twitched the tickle away unconsciously. Dwalin smirked and slid his finger over the planes of Ori’s face, mapping it into his memory. He thoroughly enjoyed the wiry feel of Ori’s fledgling beard in contrast with the soft welcoming lips. Dwalin watched then traced the patterns of light across Ori’s face and neck as the sun began to rise.
Dwalin heard Nori rise at five thirty followed shortly by a grumbling Thorin. Within fifteen minutes the grumbling had turned into a down right argument and Dwalin couldn’t decide if he was more irritated by it or impressed that it didn’t seem to have any effect on Ori at all. Dwalin propped up on his elbows deciding that irritation was winning but before he could open his mouth Ori’s bedroom door flew open thudding loudly against the wall.  “ORI!” Nori boomed from the doorway, Dwalin glared at him. “GET UP! Morning Dwalin.”
“Are you always this annoying in the morning?”
“Pretty much.” Nori shrugged. “NOW ORI! LET’S GO!”
“Nori” Thorin growled from behind him. “Don’t you have anything clean that fits me?”
“If you were going to be this picky about it why didn’t you just have your mom bring you clothes when you called her last night.”
“It’s not picky to want clean clothes.”
“Oh my God! Just wear what you’re wearing.” Dwalin boomed, Ori shifted slightly, groaning at the noise.
“That’s nasty and I will not.” Thorin rolled his eyes at Dwalin’s suggestion.
“Why? Were you gross at some point yesterday and need a shower? No? Then I don’t see a problem.” Dwalin countered.
“You impromptu crashed here, suck it up, buttercup.” Nori sassed, Ori grumbled halfheartedly.
“Aren’t you supposed to be a morning person? I mean you’re up wicked early all the time.” Thorin asked Dwalin with a sarcastic bite.
“Exactly why I’m not a morning person.” Dwalin grumbled. Ori rolled over on to his left side and shot up with a shout.
“Good, you’re up. Careful of that side it’s gonna hurt like a bitch today.” Nori smirked.
“Ori?” Bilbo squeezed in-between Nori and Thorin, his nightshirt clashing with the pants he wore yesterday.  “Do you have a sweater I can borrow? I don’t really want to put mine back on.” Ori took some deep panting breaths to get his breathing back under control glaring at his brother before nodding to his friend. Bilbo wormed his way fully into the room as Ori climbed out of bed with a sidelong glance at Dwalin.
Somehow they all managed to file out the door at six thirty. Dwalin smiled to himself as Ori walked just ahead of him in a slight daze. Bilbo was still trying to take his bag back from Thorin but the older boy simply tightened his hold on the strap with a cocky smirk. Dwalin was glad Ori hadn’t fought him on the bag caring issue, he wasn’t sure he could gently dissuade his red head right now, the lack of sleep was pulling on him pretty hard as was what he was sure was a mess they were about to walk into. The fact that Nori was so quiet wasn’t doing much to settle Dwalin’s nerves either.
As they neared the school Ori pulled away from them, lost in his thoughts while Bilbo stopped unsure if he really wanted to walk back into the building today.  Nori and Dwalin turned and watched as Thorin wrapped his arm around the smaller boy’s shoulder and gently coaxed him toward the door. With blush stained cheeks and a small smile Bilbo wrapped his fingers around Thorin’s forearm as he began walking again.
Fili watched Ori separate from his entourage with a dark smirk, smacking his brother’s arm before starting towards the still dazed red head. Dwalin turned back toward Ori to find him much too far ahead of them and the Durin twins closing in from the left side. Not wanting to start a whole new mess outside of the school, Dwalin started after Ori at a brisk walk hoping to cut off the twins before they got to him. With the twins only a few steps away Dwalin managed to catch ahold of the back of Ori’s shirt and pull him back against his chest. “Wait up, Ori.” Dwalin said glaring at the twins as they auto corrected and passed them.
Ori shook his head trying to clear his thoughts; the tug on his shirt had caused tightness around his chest that had helped to bring him back to his surroundings. Though that failed to explain why Dwalin was rather predatorily wrapping his arm over Ori’s shoulder and across his chest. Not that in other circumstances this wouldn’t have felt amazing but right now it just stung.
Ori let out a pained sound, almost a gasp, Dwalin glanced down and saw that his fingers were pressing into where the largest bruise was, he pulled his arm up quickly so that it hovered just above Ori’s chest. “Sorry.” Dwalin breathed past Ori’s ear. He didn’t want to stop touching Ori but he definitely didn’t want to be hurting him either.
Ori closed his eyes against the sensation of Dwalin’s breath, and swallowed. “That’s okay, just a little more central and it shouldn’t be a problem.” Ori could barely believe the quiet words as they left him but he smiled to himself as he felt Dwalin’s arm settle back over his shoulder and down the center of his chest.
Neither of them noticed the confused glances they were getting from their schoolmates. They were lost in their own little world simply enjoying being so close to each other until Nori clapped Dwalin on the shoulder causing them to jump.
“Get him to class well ya, I’ve got to talk to P. Gandalf.”
“Don’t call him that.” Dwalin laughed at Nori as he walked away before noting that his usual morning grumpiness seemed to have passed.
Thorin and Bilbo came to a stop beside Dwalin and Ori. “So” Thorin started. “where are we headed?”
“Oh crap!” Both Ori and Bilbo chimed in unison, panicked.
“What?” Thorin asked almost as panicked.
“I didn’t do any homework.”
“I don’t think I even opened my bag!”
“Oh my God!” Thorin put his hands on his cheeks in mock horror, rolling his eyes. “How can you live with yourselves!”
“You’re more ridiculous then they are, let’s go.” Dwalin said starting to walk Ori forward. “Move, move.”
“Let me make sure I have everything I need.” Ori started to turn toward him.
“Nope, move, let’s go.” Dwalin turned Ori around and pressed him forward.
The group stopped at each one of their lockers and made the appropriate change of books and papers before all four started down the hall to Ori and Bilbo’s math class.
Ori settled uncomfortable into his seat next to Bilbo as Dwalin placed each of their bags on their desks. Thorin had stayed at the front of the room and was quietly speaking with the teacher. Dwalin leaned onto Ori’s desk and locked eyes with him. “You don’t leave this room until one of us is with you. Got it?”
Ori huffed. “We are perfectly capable of walking ourselves…”
“Got it.” Dwalin said again ending the argument. Fili and Kili walked past the desks heading for their own, a snarky little lip quirk plastered on their faces.
“Fine.” Ori whispered looking down at his desk.
“Good.” Dwalin smiled standing and looking over at Bilbo. “Same goes for you.”
“Oh fine. Include me in your little drama.” Bilbo sighed dramatically.
“I will.” Dwalin winked at him before turning and walking toward the door, grabbing Thorin and dragging him out along the way.
Bilbo smirked to himself as he pulled out his book and prepared for class. He wouldn’t say it aloud but he liked what the older boys were doing, it was sweet. Though he knew Ori disagreed with him on this point. Ori had been on high alert ever since they had stopped at his locker and Dwalin made it apparent he wasn’t going to leave Ori unguarded.
Ori let out an aggravated yet relieved sigh as Dwalin finally left the room. This whole exercise was stupid, what did they think they were doing! Fili and Kili had gone after them to stay away from Thorin and Dwalin and now Thorin and Dwalin were practically plastered to them! It was just asking for trouble, and where the hell had Nori run off to, why wasn’t he the one plastered to him like usual. Nori’s absence was making the whole thing even stranger. Setting down his bag Ori winced as he leaned into his bruise. “Damn it” he swore under his breath, he could feel Fili’s eyes on his back witch was just making him more tense and that certainly wasn’t helping him feel any better. Sitting back up he tried to focus on finding a breathing pattern that didn’t hurt. The teacher stood and started class but neither Ori nor Bilbo where paying any attention, sadly for them neither where Fili and Kili. The Durin twins were watching their two victims trying to decide how they were going to finish the lesson they had already started.
Thorin absent-mindedly ran through the German vocabulary with the rest of his class. He hadn’t been able to finish explaining what was happening to Bilbo’s teacher before Dwalin dragged him out of the room, so now he was very anxious to get back to Bilbo before the boy tried to just carry on like it was a normal day. Thorin just knew his cousins were going to try something else especially since he hadn’t had a chance to discuss this issue with them or his father yet.
Dwalin smacked Thorin’s arm to pull him back to class. He could see the anxious tension in his friend, while he was just as anxious about leaving the two younger boys alone, he also knew he had to stay alert or, knowing himself, he would lose track of time. Half way through the period Nori finally joined the class with a quick smile and shrug of his shoulders. From then on, the class just seemed to drag on for an eternity for the three friends.
Five minutes before the bell all three were packed up and perched, ready to sprint for the door. Calling it close enough at a minute of Dwalin stood, swung his bag over his shoulder, heading for the door Thorin and Nori on his heels. As their teacher began to protest the bell screeched out and the boys took off at a run.
Ori looked like he was in severe pain, his eyes were scrunched closed and his breathing was shallow. Bilbo watched his friend discreetly from the corner of his eye with concern. He didn’t like to see Ori in so much pain nor did he like the fact that Fili had been staring Ori down the entire class. The screech of the bell was a mixed blessing; it meant they could escape Fili and Kili for the next period, they just needed to make it to the safety of the chemistry lab. Dwalin had said to wait but as Bilbo leaned over to get his bag he saw the pain shoot through Ori when he tried to do the same. Bilbo wasn’t sure they could wait for the older boys, Fili and Kili were making their casual way toward them and he was sure neither he nor Ori were in any condition to defend themselves.
Nori stopped in front of his brother’s desk, a glare firmly set on his face, directed at the Durin twins as they walked by. Dwalin knelt down next to Ori and frowned at the pain on his face. Thorin weaved through the other students to stand beside Bilbo smiling brightly. “So, how was class?” Thorin asked, Bilbo chuckled softly and glanced back at Ori.
“Are you okay, Ori” Dwalin asked leaning in. Ori startled at how close Dwalin was, his eyes snapping open and locking onto the older boy.
“Yeah.” Ori tried to smile reassuringly and failed at it. “Just sore.” Nori’s back pack hit the desk with a thud as he began to dig through it. Dwalin shook his head at his friend, pulling Ori’s bag out from under his seat. He closed Ori’s note book and Math text and dropped them into the younger boy’s bag.
“Here, this’ll help.” Nori said handing Ori a bottle of ibuprofen. Ori smiled a genuine smile as he grabbed the bottle and downed two pills dry. Standing Ori tried to hand the bottle back to his brother. “No, you should probably hang on to those. Just don’t O.D. on us.”
Dwalin snagged the bottle from Ori’s hand and dropped them in his bag. “All right where to next?”
The younger boys were dropped off at chemistry with the same instructions to wait. The class went smoothly and quietly. When the bell rang the older boys weren’t five minutes behind it, ready to move to the next class. Walking into English both Ori and Bilbo let out a sigh of relief, even though they shared this class with the twins, Professor Thranduil didn’t allow them to get very far with anything.
Nori stopped and spoke quietly with Professor Thranduil as Dwalin and Thorin ushered Ori and Bilbo to their seats. Thranduil glanced worried at his two young students, he would never out right call them his favorites, based on the principle that teachers shouldn’t have favorite students, though they were. Thranduil reassured Nori that he would keep the boys in the room until Nori came to collect them. The older boys left in a much more confident mood, laughing at each other as the Durin twins arrived.
Thranduil acted as if nothing had changed except for the slightly more frequent glances in Ori and Bilbo’s direction. The twins kept their distance through most of the period only toward the end did they start their attack.  It started with small balls of paper flicked at their targets meant to and succeeding at annoying the victims.
The bell rang out and Bilbo reluctantly began closing his note books. Neither he nor Ori were looking forward to being jostled around at lunch. “So, what did” Bilbo’s head swung around to find Fili leaning on the desk behind him. “you tell them to convince them to play your bodyguards?” Fili’s smile turned dark as his brother came to settle beside him.
“We didn’t-“
“Fili, Kili, move along.” Thranduil barked from the front of the room.
“We’re just waiting for our friends, Professor.” Kili chimed mockingly bright. Thranduil frowned at the use of his nickname, ever since the students had found out about his previous position at Rivendell College, they had all taken to calling him ‘Professor’.  Some like Bilbo and Ori said it with respect but most said it with the mocking tone Kili was currently employing.
“You are anything but. Now move along before I decide I need some extra help after school today.” The silly little threat of having to stay late got the twins moving in the direction he wanted them.
Kili frowned pushing away from the desk and past his brother, who reluctantly fallowed.  As the Durin twins exited the room Thranduil started toward Bilbo and Ori, he settled on a desktop in front of his two pupils. “You two,” he paused with a sigh. “you’re both so bright and yet you let, you allow yourselves to be pushed around by those two.” When both Ori and Bilbo simply shifted uncomfortably with guilty down cast eyes, Thranduil continued. “I simply wish that at least one of you had felt comfortable enough to come to me and tell me that they were getting out of hand. Instead of having” he poked Ori’s shoulder gently. “your brother stomping into my class and telling me that you can’t leave without him because things have just gotten ridiculous.” Ori flushed red with embarrassment.
“Nori told you what happened.” Bilbo asked sounding confused.
“Not exactly, just not to let you two leave without him for your safety.”
“Then how?”
“It’s always the twins. They are a … a boisterous pair and no one else would dare go near you two with the way Nori, Thorin and Dwalin fawn over you.”
“I do not ‘fawn’ sir.” Thorin said coming up behind Thranduil. “I admire and protect.”
“Of course.” Thranduil smirked standing. “Now all of you get out of my class. I have work to do.”
Dwalin dropped down into a chair at Bilbo and Ori’s usual lunch table, to the surprise of the two younger boys, while Thorin and Nori went to grab everyone something to eat.  “What are you doing?” Ori half glared at Dwalin.
“Having lunch.” Dwalin shrugged the glare off and turned to Bilbo. “Where we heading next?”
Bilbo smirked before starting to answer. “Well, actually I’m”
Ori cut over Bilbo irritated. “Why are you having lunch now?”
“Well, why shouldn’t we have lunch now? You are.”
“It’s my lunch period. Seriously what the hell do you guys think you’re doing?”
“We’re just keeping an eye on you, is all.”
“Stop, you’re just going to make it worse.” Ori huffed sitting down.
Dwalin sighed. “Ori, by the time today is over they won’t have the balls to come near you again.”
Ori let out and exasperated groan. “And how is th”
“And if they do, I will follow you around until they learn to leave you alone.”
“That is probably the stupidest thing I have ever heard you say.” Ori scoffed.
“Yeah? Well I’m sure you’ll hear stupider.” Dwalin smirked.
“Unbelievable.” Ori huffed, gently laying his head on the table; he winced as he compressed his chest then pushed his chair back to straighten out his back.
Bilbo smirked at Ori’s pouting before turning back to Dwalin. “You really shouldn’t be cutting class like this.”
“Well hopefully it’s only for the one day but I think we could manage a few days like this if we had too.” Dwalin shrugged.
“Lunch is served.” Thorin chimed brightly as he and Nori arrived with four heavily laden trays. “The finest delicacies that Moria High has to offer.”
Nori slid a tray in front of Dwalin then dropped down next to Ori and pushed the second tray toward his brother. “You eat something and keep it down and I promise I’ll make you whatever you want for dinner.” Nori whispered. Ori glanced up at him halfheartedly and, Nori just smiled understandingly. Nori knew his baby brother well and when he was in pain Ori lost his appetite, which in turn led him to getting a cold witched made him grumpy witch made everyone around him grumpy. So the key to avoiding all of that was to get some food in him without pestering or forcing it into him because using either of those tactics tended to make everyone grumpy even faster.  In all the years he had been doing this bribing had presented itself as the best way to handle an Ori in pain.
Ori sighed and closed his eyes. “Give me the Jell-O.”
Nori smiled lifting two small bowls off the tray. “Cherry or lime?”
“Both” Nori shrugged and placed the two bowls in front of Ori then placed a spoon in his lax fingers before ruffling Ori’s hair lovingly.
“Sometimes I hate you.” Ori grumbled as he stuck a spoon full of Jell-O in his mouth.
“I take what I can get.” Nori smiled biting into his pizza burger.
They finished eating early and decided to head toward the next class before the halls got overly crowded again. Ori had slowed down quite a bit he was getting extremely tired. Every breath was requiring concentration and every step sent up little shock waves of pain. So now Ori was leaning on Nori more then he would ever like to admit to, he had chosen to lean on his brother rather than Dwalin because every time he did Dwalin would wrap his arm around Ori’s shoulder and Ori’s damn heart would speed up and that only made his chest hurt even more. So Nori it was and beside Nori could carry him around for a little while what with how often he has practically carried Nori through these halls. He was sure Nori had missed something in his quick look last night and was wishing Dori was home already.
A pretty blond, thin girl in a Sir Faramir’s Academy uniform, brown pleated skirt with matching jacket over a pristine white button down shirt and a golden tie, walked past them only to stop and throw herself onto Thorin. “Thorin!” She shouted locking her arms around Thorin’s neck with such force that he had to take two staggering steps backward in order to keep from falling over. “Are you feeling better? We were worried when you didn’t show up yesterday, and you didn’t even call me.” She pouted.
“Jesus, Legolas what are you doing here?” Thorin asked finally stabilizing himself.
“I had a half day and Daddy forgot his lunch again so I was bringing it to him.” She smiled brightly.
“Well his room is down there”
“No, no I already gave it to him.” She chuckled then glanced at the others and tilted her head to the side at the distraught look on Bilbo’s face. “Where were you yesterday?” she asked shaking Thorin a little as she turned back to him.
Thorin sighed. “Something came”
“I’m sorry.” Bilbo said quietly before turning and running down the hall.
Thorin glanced about confused. “Wha, Bilbo, wait.”
“You’re an idiot.” Dwalin shook his head as he handed Ori’s bag to Nori. “Straiten this out.” Dwalin gestured at Legolas. “I’ll go get him.”  Dwalin wove through the building crowd and rounded the same corner Bilbo had disappeared around.
“What was that about?’ Legolas asked the group in general.
“Straiten what out?”
“I didn’t know you actually had a girlfriend.” Ori said. “I mean I had heard the rumors but you never said anything about it yourself and when you’re not doing stuff for your dad you’re at our place.” Ori glanced sadly after his friend, wincing.
“Ori, what are you talking about, I don’t have a” Thorin moved to lean toward Ori but was stopped by Legolas’s arms around his neck; he looked up at her with an exasperated sigh. “Will you let go of me?"
“Oh sure.” She smiled and took a step back dropping her arms.
Thorin looked back at Ori. “Ori, I don’t have a girlfriend, Legolas is not my girlfriend.”
Ori raised an eyebrow.  “Could have fooled me and I think you did, Bilbo.”
“Arge! We just do archery together.” Thorin spun towards Legolas. “How many times have I told you to stop dangling off of me!”
“So that was Bilbo, he’s super cute! Have you asked him out yet?” Legolas asked excited. Thorin glanced away for a moment before begrudgingly answering the question.
“Not exactly.” His tone sharpened. “And if what just happened stops that from happening, I blame you!”
“How would it be my fault that you failed to tell him that you have a friend that just happens to be a girl?”
Nori turned his brother away from the building argument with a heavy sigh. Sometimes he thought Thorin could be such an idiot.
Bilbo weaved and dodged through the hall almost absentmindedly, Thorin had looked so natural and right with that girl wrapped around him. Bilbo had heard the rumors, of course he had they had been going around for a while now, and felt he should have known better but Thorin had kissed him. Why would Thorin kiss him if he had a girlfriend? Bilbo turned to his right and slid between two other students with a soft. “Excuse me.”
“No.” Fili said grabbing Bilbo by his shirt collar and looking around the hall smirking. “What happened to your bodyguards?”
“They get tired of looking after a little pervert?” Kili chuckled. Bilbo stayed quiet, his eyes down cast as he wished he had been strong enough to stay and silently meet Thorin’s girlfriend. Fili pressed him against the lockers. “We just asked you a question.”
“Let go of him.” Dwalin growled behind the twins. Fili and Kili looked over their shoulders and smirked as they realized Dwalin was alone.
“You know, I don’t think I will.” Fili smirked. “He and I have some things to talk about.”
“I think you need to talk to Thorin more then you need to talk to Bilbo. Now, let him go.” Dwalin put his hand on Fili’s shoulder. Kili spun and punched Dwalin hard in the left cheek, Dwalin rocked with the force of the blow. Recovering he tackled Kili into the lockers next to Bilbo. Fili let go of Bilbo to assist his brother; Dwalin pushed backward nocking Fili off balance for a moment. Dwalin used this to grab Bilbo’s arm and began leading him away, Fili recovered quickly and took a swing at Bilbo. Dwalin pulled Bilbo against his chest so that Fili’s fist hit the back of his shoulder. Kili pushed himself off the lockers and launched into the attack on Dwalin and Bilbo. Dwalin wrapped his arms protectively around Bilbo’s small form as he curled his back doming around Bilbo for safety.
“Enough!” Principle Gandalf boomed over the gathering students. Gandalf and Coach Boromir parted the students then had to physically remove Fili and Kili from their victims. “You two in my office, now.” Gandalf growled at the twins, who were then hurried away by Coach Boromir. Dwalin glanced over his shoulder before turning to reveal a startled and spooked Bilbo, Gandalf sighed. “Are you boys alright?”
“Yes sir.” Dwalin answered popping his shoulder; Gandalf raised an eyebrow then looked at Bilbo. Bilbo swallowed under the old man’s scrutiny, tightening his fingers around Dwalin’s bicep before nodding that he was fine.
“Bilbo,” Bilbo glanced up at Principal Gandalf. “I understand this isn’t the first time something like this has happened, this week.” Bilbo nodded again. “I’m going to need to speak to you and your parents tomorrow, alright?”
“Yes sir.” Bilbo squeaked.
“Good.” Principal Gandalf smiled. “Now off to class with you. Dwalin,” Dwalin snapped to attention. “I would like you to go to the nurse and get looked at but I suppose it can wait until after you drop off your young friend were he’s meant to be.”
“Of course.”
“Very good.” Principle Gandalf smiled once again at them both before turning back towards his office.
“I swear, we leave you alone for five minutes and you start world war three in the hall.” Nori chuckled steering Ori over to Dwalin and Bilbo.
“Oh my goodness, are you alright Bilbo?” Legolas asked leaning over to inspect the small brunet as she and Thorin came up behind the Ri brothers. Bilbo looked down with a slight blush as he nodded that he was fine. Legolas smiled at him before turning to Thorin. “How can you let your cousins be such brutes to Bilbo, he’s far too cute to be putting up with this type of behavior.”
“I don’t let them, and who’s fault do you think this is?” Thorin grumbled.
“Well I’m sure I don’t”
“Yours! It’s yours. He would have been fine walking the halls with us, with me, but then you ran him off!”
“That wouldn’t have happened if you had just told him who I am.”
Thorin’s face fell. “Why does it always come back to being my fault?”
“Because it is.” Dwalin added helpfully, Thorin glared at Dwalin.
“He has a point.” Legolas nodded.
“Well you just go home already; you’re not even supposed to be here.”
“Fine. See you later Bilbo.” She waved and turned away from them.
“Just Go!” Thorin yelled after her, Legolas giggled as she disappeared down the hall.
Bilbo dropped his hands from Dwalin’s arm. “Thanks for, um…”
Dwalin smiled. “No problem.”
“Are you sure you’re alright?”
“Yeah, I should be good.” Dwalin ruffled Bilbo’s hair. “And if not, I’ll just send the bill to that idiot.” Dwalin jabbed his thumb at Thorin who huffed.
“Bilbo, you have music next, right?” Thorin asked.
“Theory” Bilbo said quietly.
“What?”
“I have music theory next.”
“Oh right, let’s go get your stuff and-“
“Stalker much?” Nori asked with a smirk, Thorin ignored him.
“get you there. The bells going to ring soon.” Bilbo didn’t move.
“Maybe you should explain what just happened because I think that might be a good place to start.” Dwalin said, moving toward Ori’s locker.
“Thanks Mom.” Thorin quipped taking Bilbo’s shoulder and steering him toward his locker.
“Where we headed now? Dwalin asked the Nori/Ori morph they had become.
“Ori’s gonna get his art on.” Nori announced turning toward the art room.
“You’re weird.” Dwalin informed him, falling in step beside them.
“It’s why you love me so much.” Nori laughed.
“Sure, let’s go with that.”
Bilbo kept his head down as Thorin steered him through the hall toward his locker. They stopped in front of the small metal door and Bilbo reached out to put in the code, as the latch clicked Thorin spoke.  “Look, Bilbo. I know I haven’t done this quite right, but Legolas” Bilbo knitted his eyebrows together in confusion at the name. “That girl who was climbing on me. She’s not my girlfriend, she’s a friend from archery, that’s all.”
Bilbo looked up at Thorin. “She knew my name.”
Thorin blushed slightly and glanced away. “I, um, I would talk to her about you. I won’t anymore if you want.”
Bilbo watched Thorin’s face for a moment and smiled to himself. “No, that’s not necessary, she seems nice.”
Thorin visibly relaxed, “Sure when she’s not trying to smother me to death, she’s great.” Bilbo smiled closing his locker.

The room went silent after you charged in, slamming the door shut behind you and heading for the King, noting his swallowing and wide eyes at your fiery gaze, none of the others from the Company willing to step in as you came to a halt crossing your arms, “QUEEN CONSORT!!” He quickly glanced at Dwalin who had his mouth covered as he watched his tiny wife in shock at her reaction to the news while Thorin squirmed in his large seat stammering for a few moments only to be broken off by your voice again, “Just when were you going to inform me of this?! I suppose just because you’re the King you get to choose who you want!” Stomping your foot as you pointed at Bilbo beside him for a moment, who was desperately trying to hide his giggles, “You’ve already married my Cousin!! Now I’m just to lie back for you as well?!” Stomping your foot again, “WELL!!!?”
Thorin finally cleared his throat as he attempted to straighten himself through his frightened state, “It’s merely a title. Nothing is expected, merely your Children will have a bloodline that of mine and My Husbands, they will be first in line behind me, that is all, when you give birth the title will change to Queen Mother.” Sitting up straight as you glanced over at Dwalin who nodded after his shoulders flinched at your still stern gaze.
Your eyes went back to Thorin softer now, “Why didn’t you bring any of this up before the wedding five months ago?”
Thorin, “It wasn’t brought to our attention until after, and only by Dis’ observation at adding your names to our family tree.”
Your eyebrow raised as you glanced at the Princes, “But they’re next in line, what about them?”
Fili, “Oh don’t you mind now, I spend most of my time in Dale helping Bard.”
Kili, “Ya, me too, between Dale and Mirkwood with Tauri, we’ve got loads to do.”
Fili, “Besides, we’re just moving down a few slots, we’re still in line, just behind the little Ones, so we’ll be here to help them through it all.”
Thorin, “I would never ask you to be more than my Cousin, but with Dwalin and I sharing a Grandfather and being nearly brothers, it would be as if they were mine anyway. We’ve all already talked about the whole group helping with any children from our marriages so nothing would change there would just be more lessons to add to their teachings.”
You let out a sigh as you dropped your arms glancing at Bilbo who raised his hands, “I tried to tell him to inform you himself before the mountain found out.” Glancing at his Husband with a giggle, “I did warm you Thorin.”
“I’m going to get back to work then.” Kissing Dwalin on the cheek, “See you at lunch Pookie.”
Fili and Kili snorted as Dwalin said, “See you then Love.” Before turning back to the chuckling Princes with a stern gaze making their giggling stop.
Months later.
For a month now you’d had a creeping suspicion, one that had just become closer to truth as your figure shifted fuller, assuming at first it was the rich foods you were able to eat now that you were securely in place at home in your Mountain, the only drawback was the soreness that it triggered, your chest had grown nearly a full cup size and could barely be touched at all testing Dwalin’s patience slightly wishing to play with them loving every inch of your fuller figure. Not that he didn’t love you before but with these new inches around your hips and chest he had new territory for his hands to wander to, enjoying each swipe of his finger, lips and tongue over your body feeling as if he was tasting and feeling you for the first time again.
His hour long lunch break had started with him once again moving past the full table of food you’d laid out, kissing you passionately as his hands slid around your waist while your hands unhooked his fur vest and dragged him to the bedroom with a muffled giggle. Choosing to leave your announcement till he’d finally sat down to eat, both enjoying the brief trysts on his hour long lunch breaks since you’d first been intimate, your clothes now on the floor as you nudged him back to sit on the edge of the bed, watching as his eyes ran over your body in pure admiration, your hands pulling his to your waist as you straddled him. Lifting to take him in as you kissed him again, hearing his moan as you lowered yourself around him before his hands cupped you starting your rocking, both sinking into your rhythm as his hand inched over your stomach, breaking the kiss as you whispered, “Just be gentle with them, they’re still sore.”
He quickly kissed you again, “Of Course Love, I’d never dream of hurting you.” Kissing down your neck as his fingers gently slid over your chest as his lips grazed your collarbone before trailing over your chest gently peppering kisses across your swollen chest forcing a whimper from you as his other hand slid to stroke your core. His pace quickened as you reached your climax with his lips one again kissing along your neck causing a soft moan to escape you as bumps rose across your skin, his fingers traced along the edges of your breast as you moaned again, finishing around him, the tightening forcing a moan from him in return, your head resting against his for a moment as your breathing steadied. Your head pulled back as you felt his thumb running along your nipple hearing a confused chuckle come from him, your eyes dropping to his chest seeing the liquid running down it forcing your cheeks to heat up as he brushed his thumb around your nipple curiously covering it in the liquid before tapping it to his tongue tasting it before his eyes met yours, “It’s like milk, but sweeter.”
You giggled nervously, “Wanted to tell you over lunch, I’m pregnant.”
He gave you a large grin as he let out a loud laugh before kissing you passionately, “I love you! Mahal, I love you!” He turned with him still inside you holding you close to his chest and crawled to the middle of the bed laying you out and kissing along your neck as he slowly started to thrust again deeply slowing the pace, “I’m gonna show you just how much through every single moment, through every pregnancy, as our Children grow inside you.”
“Hopefully the milk thing won’t happen every time.”
Dwalin chuckled as he kissed and licked across your chest, “I don’t mind, make a mess, I’ll clean you up after.” Chuckling again as his tongue lapped up the drop that fell from his chest back to yours before kissing you again, after you’d both finished he’d carried you to your bath helping you scrub clean, “Why would your milk bother me Love?” Kissing down the back of your neck and across your shoulders, “It’s going to make our Little Ones grow strong like you.” Kissing you again helping you into your dress before you helped him redress, smiling at his beaming smile as his eyes slid over you while his hands ran over your stomach, when you both headed out your front door he pulled you in for another kiss asking, “Could you tell Thorin, I have to get back to the Front Gates for next patrol.”
You nodded, “Of course, I’m sure he’ll be thrilled to hear about having to demote his Nephews.”
He kissed you again, “They’re the eager ones, now they get it easier, try not to think of it like that, we’ve all been bumped up and down the list our entire lives, Thorin’s found his One, he’s immortal now, we all are when we find ours, and none of us are gonna be foolish enough to risk losing each other.” Curling his arm around you and leading you the main hallway leading to the Throne Room, giving you another excited kiss as he brushed his hand over your stomach again before heading back to work.
..
You reached the archway smiling at the two guards who bowed to you, your nerves rising as you heard Thorin’s voice echoing in the vast room as he gave his verdict on a squabble between two Dwarves, they bowed deeply and turned to leave as Thorin caught a glimpse of you entering, his stern expression dipping into a smile as the next group of Dwarves were brought up to him, bowing to him then to you and waiting patiently until you were done. He held his hand out to allow you to climb the steps to his Throne and shifted forward to greet you, “Morning Jaqi, anything wrong?” His eyebrows pressing together in concern at your nervous expression.
Your voice came out in a trembling whisper, “No, um, nothing wrong, just, you know about my title.”
He nodded leaning closer his voice dropping to a growling whisper, “Someone giving you a hard time about it? Dis hasn’t said anything about it has she, I told her not to rush you two.”
“Well she, sort of, but that was months ago, um, I should just say it, I’m pregnant.”
His face lit up, “Really?!” Letting out a loud laugh as he stood lifting you in a large hug curling his arms around you tightly before gently setting you down in his lap as he sat again, sure to keep you steady in the center of his lap, “Dwalin knows?”
You nodded with a giggle, “Just told him at lunch.”
His eyes glowed brightly as his smile grew, “This is incredible, may I?” Holding out his hand which you grabbed and set it on your stomach smiling at him.
“It’s not that far along yet, should be a few months before you can feel them move.”
His eyes went wider, “Them?”
You giggled again, “Right, I wasn’t supposed to tell you that yet, forgot to tell that part to Dwalin, didn’t want to scare him.”
“How many?”
“I count four heart beats.”
His eyebrows rose as his voice cracked, “Four?!”
You nodded, “That’s why I thought I’d wait.”
He let out another nervous chuckle before hugging you and kissing your forehead, “He’ll be thrilled, we all will, they’ll want for nothing and be well taken care of.”
You glanced at the long line of Dwarves behind you then back to Thorin, “Well I should let you get back to it.” He chuckled again after another peck on the forehead, helping you to your feet and holding his hands around your waist as you walked down the stairs before letting you go and heading back to his Throne as you went to work again helping Ori sort out the daily stacks of papers and sending out the various reports and documents needed by the Company through the Mountain.
For a week now you’d been congratulated by every Dwarf, Elf and Man that came across you, each grouping around you as you went up and down the various staircases and escorted across each bridge to assure your safety and that of your children, as Dwalin had left you’d been greeted with a surprise a letter from one of your Cousins back in the Shire, meeting up with Bilbo in the Market place to share the letter and eagerly opening it and reading the letter as you walked through the first doorway.
Your heart raced as your feet paused, the loud Marketplace muffled around you, blocked out by the sound of your heart pounding in your ears as everyone turned to look at you, finally drawing in a shaky breath as tears fell across your cheeks as a large hand gripped your shoulder shaking you gently causing your head to raise to look at the large Dwarf with a concerned look on his face.
A whimper escaping you as another flood of tears poured down your cheeks, your knees gave out and you were pulled into the Dwarves chest as you began violently sobbing into his chest as the Dwarves around you turned in a panic, their lips moving as they shouted for someone, finally Bilbo came sprinting into view dropping to his knees at your side, running his hand over your back before wrenching the letter from your hand when he spotted it, skimming over it before curling around you breaking into sobs himself. Finally the both of you were carried back to the Royal Wing by the Princes when they found you, both skimming the letter and laying you both down across Thorin’s bed and curled around you as you both to comfort you.
When Dwalin and Thorin both finally found you their heart plummeted when they were told that your younger sister, Bilbo’s Cousin and her husband had died and that Gandalf was bringing her newborns for you to care for, their mind racing with the memories of your adorable sister, practically your twin with just as much fire in her personality as you had earning her own place in their hearts, both holding back their tears as they curled around you trying to steady their One’s broke hearts. Your ear piercing scream had halted that days trades for nearly an hour as everyone scrambled searching for the source, as you and Bilbo had been carried away they stayed where they were, silently and patiently waiting for word on what had triggered such a response, and word of your loss had sunken their hearts even lower for you, hanging their heads from the weight of your loss and carrying on with their days.
Finally that night your crying had ceased, tears run dry as your eyes burned from the crying, gripping Dwalin’s arms tighter around you feeling him curl his entire body closer to you as you did, still whispering to you in Khuzdul as your eyes met Bilbo’s, just as puffy as yours as Thorin gripped him tightly against his chest, forcing the corner of his mouth to flick up as he reached out to grip your hand causing Thorin and Dwalin to lift their heads to see your moved hands.
Bilbo, “Gandalf should be here in the morning with the Little Ones.”
“Feels like it’s nearly morning.” Your voice coming out in a shaky whisper.
Thorin, “It’s just past midnight.” His head resting on Bilbo’s shoulder as he propped himself up kissing him on the cheek softly as he stroked his hand.
“Sorry I caused such..”
Dwalin raised up, “Shh, now, you don’t apologize for anything, neither of you, every Dwarf in this Mountain would do the same if we had gotten that news.”
Thorin, “If you’d like, since you’re already expecting we, Bilbo and I could tend to her children, so you could prepare for yours.”
Bilbo turned to look at Thorin, “They’re barely a month old Thorin, they’ll need milk.”
Dwalin, “A month?”
“I will be needing help though, there’s two of them, they’ll need a bit of tending to.”
Thorin, “Of Course.”
You let out a sigh as you forced yourself up as Dwalin quickly sat behind you to steady you, sniffling as you wiped your cheeks and looking around, “I should eat something.” Dwalin helped you to the end of the bed and up to your feet as Bilbo sat and followed as Thorin shadowed him, keeping his hands fixed on his Hobbit Husband in case he’d need steadying or comfort, all pausing as Fili stepped through the door you were headed for, “Oh, um Thranduil brought a meal, bunch of food for you.” Glancing between you and Bilbo with a saddened gaze, then turning and leading you to the dining room on that floor, the Elf King turning to you with a similar gaze as he walked closer to you, lowering himself so you could hug him around his neck, “Thank you for the food.”
Bilbo joined the hug as he said, “Not a problem at all, I knew this might help, couldn’t just do nothing.” Pulling back giving you both kind smiles as his eyes filled with a knowing sadness as Bilbo said, “They’re coming early today, would you like to meet them?”
He smiled again, “I would love to.”
Your forehead rested against his shoulder for another moment before you pulled back and he led you both to your seats with your One’s curling around your sides, you pressed your head against Dwalin’s cheek as you ran your hands over your stomach, feeling his lay out over yours as his other curled around your back whispering in Khuzdul, “We’ll take good care of them Love, all of us.”
“I know.” Kissing him and rubbing your forehead against his before turning to the food and forcing yourself to eat.
After washing your face you headed down to the front Gates through the crowd of Dwarves all bowing to you with mournful glances as you and Bilbo passed with your Ones behind you, stopping at the gates as they opened, Thorin’s head tilted up to Thranduil as he tapped his shoulder before whispering, “Smile at them.”
Thorin raised his eyebrow, “What now?”
Thranduil, “I might not know much about Hobbits but I do know in times like these, you mourn until the children arrive, you never greet a Hobbit child with sadness.”
Dwalin, “What sort of rule is that?”
Thranduil, “Even after a fire, life returns, they’re hurting too, but they’ll need love and sunshine to grow, it hurts, but they’ll need you to be happy. You’ll see it in your One’s faces as they tend to the Little Ones, it may be strange but Hobbits refuse to focus on their pain.”
Their attention shifted forward as you stepped forward to greet Gandalf as he held a shrieking basket standing before a large eagle, you let out a sigh eyeing the basket, “Why are they in a basket?”
Gandalf glanced at you with a mournful gaze, “I had to make sure they would travel safely.”
Bilbo, “Yes, but a basket?” As he lifted the top so you could reach in, scooping them into your hands and laying them against your forearms, their shrieking stopping at your touch as you lifted them, leaning forward and pressing them to your chest before straightening again and turning as Bilbo grabbed the few bags Gandalf had brought after gently tapping their small feet as you said, “Thank you Gandalf.”
You turned back to Thorin and Dwalin and The Company behind them letting them see the two infants curled against your chest, both barely the size of a squash as you stepped closer to them, tapping each of their backs gently as their hands slid up to hold the neck line of your shirt as you said, “Frodo and Freya.” They both eyed their small bodies down to their curling toes on their tiny Hobbit feet, both gently reaching out to slide their fingers along their exposed skin hearing the cooing their touch had triggered.
Thorin, “They’re so small.”
“They’re just newborns still, they’ll shoot up later.”
Dwalin’s face lit up as Freya curled her fingers around his thick finger and cooed before meeting yours as you asked, “Want to hold her?”
His mouth opened for a moment as his eyes scanned her small body compared to his large hand seeing he could fit nearly her whole body in it, “Um.” Swallowing as you giggled, “You won’t hurt her.” Before helping him place her in his hands gently and lay her against his chest, seeing his eyes get misty as her tiny body curled against the exposed skin on his chest with her bottom and legs curled under his hand, smiling as she snuggled and cooed against him at his heartbeat. Your hand slid across Frodo’s back as you glanced at Thorin who was still mistily eyeing his tiny body, “You’ll be needing practice too.” Making his eyes dart to yours as his eyebrows lifted before helping him lay Frodo against his chest and letting out a giggle as he gripped onto one of his braids.
He let out a chuckle as he glanced down at him as you reached up to free his braid, his voice coming out in a velvety low voice, “He can hold it.”
You nodded and grabbed a bag from Bilbo and led the way back to the Royal Wing leaning your head against his as the two Dwarves behind you cradled the cooing infants as the crowds around you all looked on happily eyeing the tiny additions to the Royal Family.

(Found this image on tumblr, can’t remember the artist, but it’s adorable!! So credit to whoever made it!)
..
Each member of the Company along with Thranduil, Tauriel and Legolas took turns cradling and stroking the infants welcoming them into the Family as the Elf King presented his gift, a baby bed for the twins since The Company had barely started on the bed for your children along with a bunch of food and extra blankets for you three. As the day stretched on you were curled in your rocking chair that Bilbo had made for you after helping you stretch them across your chest again as you hummed for them, Thorin had been called away nearly an hour earlier and had just sent word for his husband’s assistance leaving you alone with Dwalin who was fixing a dinner for you both.
He returned with a smile at seeing you still cradling them, holding a bowl of food in one hand with a chair in the other, setting it down beside you and settling into it before filling the spoon, sliding it along the rim of the bowl and offering it out to you, “You need to eat.”
You giggled, “I can..”
“Your hands are full, let me.” Smiling at you as he held the spoon closer to your lips, “I promised to care for you, and our Little Ones. When are they going to eat again?”
“Most likely when I’m done, they tend to wait until their Mother has eaten, adds more to the milk.”
He nodded with another smile at the infants, “Then let’s get you full so they can eat, do Hobbits tend to sleep through the night?”
“Hobbit children can stay awake for months at a time, infants normally around a week.” His smile dropped as his eyes met yours earning a giggle from you, “Don’t worry, Bilbo and I will take shifts, they’re usually even tempered. It shouldn’t affect your sleep at all, they seldom cry.”
Dwalin offered you another spoonful after regaining his breathing, “I’m more worried about your sleep Love.” Gently rubbing your stomach.
“Which is why Bilbo and I will be taking shifts.”
He let out a sigh as he offered you another spoonful, giving them another smile, when you finally reached the bottom of the bowl he took the dishes away as you unhooked your shirt as they wiggled, before helping them start to eat, Dwalin sat close to your side gently stroking their feet and hands, kissing them tenderly as they ate while listening to you humming to them and joining you when he recognized the tune. He let out another chuckle, “They always eat this much?”
You giggled, “Always, just wait until they’re older and we have to cook all their meals.” Earning a chuckle from him as is mind raced through your possible future.
He gently helped lift them so you could close your shirt again after they’d finished, cradling Freya as you both went to lay down as you held Frodo, stretching out on the bed with them between you, his eyes fixed on them until you raised his chin and kissed him, his hand curled around your cheek letting out a low hum before puling back hearing you whisper, “Don’t forget about us Pookie” as you stroked his cheek.
He met your gaze, “I won’t, I swear to you I won’t.” Kissing you again with a chuckle as two hands reached up to tap your chins breaking you apart to gaze at them lovingly as you slid your fingers over their skin, curling around them again as you both started humming again, one of your arms curling over your heads running through each other’s hair as your other hands stayed on the infants. As Dwalin grew drowsier you lifted them into the cradle that you’d pressed against the bed so they could be close as you helped him undress, and curled up next to him, pulling him in for a passionate kiss before letting him curl around you so he could sleep as you slid your arm through the bar to stroke their skin.
You woke to find Dwalin already up making a breakfast for you both, sitting up you glanced at Frodo and Freya as they wiggled their feet together cooing to each other before looking up at you with a happy squeak, the sudden noise triggered Dwalin to run back into the room forcing a giggle from you when you caught his expression, “They’re happy, nothing’s wrong.” He nodded and let out a breath giving you a smile as he headed back into the kitchen, you glanced back down with another smile, your eyes misting at seeing your sister’s eyes in them, as you reached down to stroke their cheeks before standing to get another set of diapers and carrying them to the bathroom to change them, smiling up at Dwalin as he stepped in cautiously.
Dwalin, “I um, here I’ll help.” Timidly joining your side at the counter to change Freya, groaning as he opened the diaper and cleaned her up, watching how you’d wrapped the cloth diaper before adding her new one, “These are much more efficient than the ones we used for the Princes, needed five pins and a ribbon to fasten them.” Lifting her against his chest carefully and carrying her to the kitchen where he’d taken the crib to as you followed, laying them both down so you could eat. “Gandalf said they’d have the rest of their nursery brought over later this morning, along with everything else.” His head turned to the doorway as a gentle knock sounded, “Now who could that be this early?” Standing and going to answer the door.
He returned with Thorin who nervously peered inside at you darting his eyes to the cradle before nodding his head to you, “Thought I’d see if you needed any help with breakfast.”
You giggled catching his eyes wandering to the crib again, nodding your head to the side, “You can see them if you want Thorin.”
He smiled and rushed to their side smiling wider as he leaned over the crib gently reaching in to have his fingers squeezed as Bilbo sleepily waddled in the room wiping his eyes, “Honestly Thorin, I told you they’d be alright, honestly Fauntlings barely fuss at all.”
You giggled at the Dwarf Kings cooing back at the infants in nothing but his pajama pants as his still partially knotted hair hung down in front of him before turning back to Bilbo, “You hungry Bilbo?”
Bilbo, “Starving.” Brushing his hand down Thorin’s large shirt as he settled into the chair beside you, “You sleep at all?”
You nodded, “Few hours off and on.”
Bilbo nodded, “Same. That one there wouldn’t stop asking bout them all night.”
Your smile grew as Dwalin entered the room again with the food, serving you first giving you a kiss as he gently rubbed your stomach, still without a bump yet in your eyes but growing every day in his, then laying out the rest before taking his place at Thorin’s side as he shifted over so they could share the view, “You both need to eat as well you know.”
They both glanced up at you then back down to the crib before letting out sighs before claiming their seats and quickly shoveling back their meals so they could stare at the babies again, after you ate you headed to the bedroom to change into a pair of knee length pants, pulling out of Dwalin’s shirt and adding a nursing shirt you’d made before returning with a small blanket, smiling at the two Dwarves who were nervously speaking to the pair as they started to squeak and squirm knowing it was time to eat, both glancing up at you as you entered with a smile. Both gently lifted one of them as you sat back in your seat and undid your shirt laying the blanket over your chest as you adjusted them so they could eat as the pair of Dwarves knelt beside you running their fingers along their feet as you giggled at their entranced expressions, “What is it with Dwarves and babies?”
They both glanced up at you with a chuckle as their eyes sparkled up at you, “We rarely see them, the Mountain can wait.”
You giggled as Bilbo grunted out, “Not likely.”
You all glanced up as the rest of the Company and a very unkempt Dis stepped in cautiously, each still in their sleeping clothes, all timidly eyeing the small feet hanging out from under the blanket across your chest and adding more food they’d brought to the table, each offering you more to eat, your hand moving to support both of them so you could eat with your other hand. All of them eating and nervously shifting as they waited for their nursing to end, both Dwarves happily claiming one each as you clothed yourself again and went to bathe after claiming a kiss from Dwalin and kissing the infants backs, as you reached the doorway you spotted Bilbo joining you as the Dwarves all swarmed around the Fauntlings.
..
Eventually Thorin and Dwalin both had to leave for work, finally dragging themselves away after leaving Bilbo to assist you, the rest of the Dwarves all heading out shortly after for their jobs, each mentally shifting their schedules so they could check on you through the day. Rolling the crib back against the bed you and Bilbo laid out for a nap before the knock signaling the delivery of your half sister’s belongings, both tearily setting up the nursery and adding the rest to the empty spare room before Bilbo headed out to at least get some work done after helping you into your baby carrier, two loops of fabric across your chest to cradle them so you could head to work after slipping on your socks and shoes and grabbing your bag you’d filled with snacks and water along with baby supplies.
All the Dwarves bowed to you eying you closely trying to get a glimpse at the babies as you passed them, only able to see the tiny hand gripping yours from between the slings as you made your way to the records room, receiving a shocked smile from Ori when he spotted you, “I didn’t think you’d be down so soon.”
You giggled, “I can’t stand sitting still all day, they’re very well behaved. Besides, whose gonna take my job, I can’t just pile it all on you.”
..
As you’d finished your sorting you snacked again and helped them to another nursing before changing them and curling them back in their carriers, gripping your stack of papers and heading out to deliver them making a stop at your room along the way to drop off their dirty diapers before heading to deliver the small stack to Thorin. All the Dwarves’ eyes fixed on you partially in shock at your being back at work as you approached the King as Dwalin said, “What’re you doing back at work?”
You rolled your eyes, “Like I could sit still this long.”
Thorin grabbed the papers setting them on the table as he folded back the cloth so he could glance at the cooing Fauntlings inside, smiling at them as he wiggled his fingers between them, “Have the pebbles been eating enough?”
You giggled at his nickname for them, “Yes, had a feeding and a changing since breakfast, due for another in around an hour.”
Thorin, “Mhmm.” Partially ignoring you letting out a chuckle as they gripped his fingers as the Dwarves around you lifted up to get a glimpse at them as Dwalin moved over to curl around your back, “Want to sit, I’m sure your legs are tired.”
“I suppose.” He kissed your cheek leading you to his chair helping you into it at Thorin’s left as another Dwarf brought another chair from along the wall for him to sit in on your left, all of them watched as you lifted them higher out of their carriers onto your chest as you leaned back in the chair, running your fingers along their arms as they wiggled their fingers, arms, legs and toes.
Finally the meeting started again as they forced their eyes back to their work with a few glances back at them, all surprised that they were so quiet and well behaved, as the hours passed you reached for a snack quickly eating your fill before pulling out the blanket you’d packed and laying it over your chest as you helped the squirming infants to start nursing again. Through their nursing Thorin and Dwalin both held their fingers on the tiny feet hanging out of the blanket, both eagerly asking if they could hold one, smiling as you nodded, gently curling their hands around them and laying their choice across their chests and beaming as they stretched their large hands over their backs as they curled their hands around their fingers and braids in their hair.
..
For days you’d slipped through your now group breakfast as they fawned over the infants, as you bathed and changed after their feeding and changing, each Dwarf rotating on the first changing to lighten your load. Each night Dwalin would return to find you stretched out on your bed kissing their feet and hands as they giggled and ran their finger through your hair. Then carrying you for a bath sliding the crib into the room with you along the wall to keep an eye on them as Dwalin dried you and took over your pampering routine for you and for him, unwilling to let you stress any more than necessary, loving the familiar trimmed and smooth feeling on his feet and hands and knowing he’d need his hands as gentle as possible for his pebbles.
Today you’d been woken by the silent shifting of the mattress as Thorin sat near the crib, your eyes squinting through the darkness at the Dwarf King, pulling your arm free and stretching it out to tap his side causing him to flinch and turn to look at you with a stunned look on his face at being caught. You giggled as Dwalin grunted and tightened around your chest as you patted the bed in front of you whispering, “Lay down, you need to rest.”
He grumbled and stretched out, sliding his hand through the bars as he laid down feeling your arm curl across his chest with a smirk before turning to look at you whispering, “How are your growing Pebbles?”
“They’re growing, bump started showing yesterday.” Your eyes meeting his before they dropped to your stomach as you let out a chuckle, grabbing his hand and sliding it under the blanket over your stomach as his smile grew gently tracing your growing children.
“Any sickness or pains yet? Dis had a hard first year.”
“Had some soreness when the milk started, some dizziness but only if I don’t eat enough.”
He nodded with another smile as he drew his hand back sliding it back into the grip of the squirming twins as you laid your arm over his chest again, “I’ll make sure your pantry is always full for you, can’t imagine how much you’d have to eat to make enough milk for 6 pebbles to eat every few hours.”
You giggled again, “They’ll both be starting solids when I get close to labor, won’t have to eat much more, as it is they could nurse for much longer, my body makes enough for four.”
He glanced at you again curiously, “Does it hurt, having that much milk left?”
“Sometimes.”
“Do we need to find you more children to nurse?”
You settled your head on his shoulder, “No, we only nurse our own kin, unless there is another child you wish for me to adopt Your Majesty.”
He rolled his eyes, “I can’t have you in pain.”
“Does your neck ever get sore from that crown of yours?”
His eyes squinted for a moment, “Sometimes.”
“There’s a bit of soreness from every one of our duties, motherhood included, it’s barely noticeable most of the time.”
He slid his hand over your arm letting out a sigh closing his eyes after kissing your forehead, “Still, if there’s anything I could do to lessen your pain let me know.”
“Does Bilbo know you’re here?”
“I’m sure he’ll guess it soon enough.”
You giggled again, “Great then Dwalin will wake up with you and him in our bed too.” Earning a quiet chuckle from him before you slipped back into sleep.
.
A few hours later you’d woken again to find Bilbo curled across Thorin’s chest earning a surprised grunt from Dwalin when he woke, gently stroking your stomach and giving you a kiss before starting to climb out of bed to make breakfast leaving you to snuggle against the King’s shoulder. Your breakfast was quick and crowded once again followed by them clearing out so you and Dwalin could bathe together with Frodo and Freya before dressing again and heading to work, you had your lunch early and headed to Thorin’s meeting curling one of the carriers around his chest and the other around Bilbo’s so they could watch them giving you a break. Quickly heading upstairs again you made lunch for Dwalin who entered with a large smile as he peered trough the rooms, his smile fading as he couldn’t find the babies, “Jaqi!!”
Your head popped out of the kitchen, “What’s wrong?”
“The pebbles?”
“Thorin and Bilbo are watching them.” You walked over to him as he nodded and let out a slow breath calming himself as you ran your fingers along his vest, “Thought you might enjoy a quiet lunch together.”
His eyes locking with yours as a smirk slid across his face as he leaned down to kiss you sliding his hands around your waist pulling you against him, “That I would Love.” His lips crashing into yours hungrily as his hands slid to your ass lifting you as your legs curled around him carrying you to your bed, quickly stripping and eagerly sliding into you making love to you passionately and carefully, not willing to harm your growing pebbles and curling around you for another round of passionate kissing during your second bath before finally eating and heading back to work.
After another snack you headed down to relieve Thorin and Bilbo, sensing that they’d be hungry soon, giggling as you’d entered to find the King changing Frodo on the table struggling to figure out how to secure the diaper even through Bilbo’s instructions, his head turned to look for the clasp as Frodo started peeing everywhere greeted with a round of “Woah” from several of the surrounding Dwarves and loud laughter from the Princes at the height it reached, finally stopping as Bilbo dried him off with a towel you’d packed for them along with the table around him as another Dwarf carried off the dirty diaper to get rid of as Thorin managed to cover him and secure it finally before glancing up at you with a nervous chuckle. “Still not used to these new Hobbit diapers, had the Dwarf ones down easy, I’ll get it though.”
You giggled again as you reached his side, “I know you will.”
His eyes sparkled as he glanced up at you with a large smile lifting Frodo against his chest after securing his onesie, “Time for another nursing?”
Frodo let out a squeaking whine as he reached Thorin’s chest earning a chuckle from him as his Sister quickly echoed his whine, “Yes it is.”
He chuckled and had another chair pulled over for you and helped you lay them across your chest before covering you with the blanket and claiming his seat again before looping his fingers around Frodo’s foot with a large smile as he turned back to his meeting with the beaming counsel.
..
Through the next few months your four had tangled together a chaotically organized arrangement quad-parenting the twins as they grew, now both three times the size they were, now the size of a large Dwarf infant as your stomach now had an emphasized curve to it as the dips in your sides gradually pushed out as you grew. Each of the Dwarves all claiming their turns with the carriers to grant you a break, Dwalin being the most common, a few times a week seen proudly strutting across the main gates overlook with his fingers curled in theirs with his axe across his shoulders during his checks on the Guards out there, not being allowed to stay uncovered for long with them across his chest before finally returning to your bed to curl up with them across his chest humming to them as they curled their fingers through his beard. Your second nursery had finally been finished at your urging hoping to get it finalized well before your labor, each day bursting with the possible celebration of another milestone in their short lives, the largest being their first words.
As the Counsel erupted around them, forgetting their presence momentarily in their constant silence, until a loud shriek came from Freya as she pointed at Thorin with her arms outstretched, “EMU!!” Making his face light up with a large smile at her attempt to say, Emulhekh (Majesty) in Khuzdul, before Frodo reached for Dwalin, “SANZI!” short for Sanzigil(Mithril), nicknames that they shared for the both of them, that single event leading to a two day party through the whole mountain.
The next party was triggered by your bursting into another meeting, one with all the visiting Dwarf Lords and Elf Lords, all of them going silent as they saw you scramble in with the two children squirming in your arms as Thorin and Dwalin jumped to their feet, stopping as you said, “No, wait there.” As you dropped to your knees setting the both of them down, their faces twisting as they looked from you to the twins before dropping to their own knees as they saw them scramble to their feet, both letting out bubbling giggles as they saw the Dwarves kneeling before them with large smiles. Kicking out their feet taking their first steps as the Lords and Dwarves around them all gasped as they watched them cross the few feet to the outstretched fingers of Dwalin and Thorin who were smiling and chuckling proudly, earning nearly a week long celebration shared with the Elves and Dwarves.

Two Pot Screamer(s)
Bilbo x Thorin   Fili x Ori   Mostly Gen
Words: 373
Warnings: None
Notes:  I wrote these at 1-2 am yesterday because I couldn't sleep and because it's my birthday, I decided that I'd post them. Hope you enjoy! :)
Summary:  Every member of the Durin bloodline is a lightweight that can’t hold their liquor to save their life.
Every member of the Durin bloodline is a lightweight that can’t hold their liquor to save their life.
Thorin is the worst of all. He’s drunk off his ass in two drinks. Singing and dancing in three, and can’t remember anything that happens after four. Thorin always insists that he knows his body and can drink as much as he wants, but then everyone in the bar/pub hears him singing about his family (or Bilbo... or cookies... or both) before the sun has even set.
Dis is the best at hiding it. Mostly because she likes to drink every once in a while. That mostly comes from being the only Durin with children. The one time she got really drunk she woke up with the dwarven equivalent of a tramp stamp and she walked into her living room to find Dwalin sporting a mohawk.
Fili and Kili are better than Thorin, but Dis says that’s because Vili was able to drink his weight in ale and then some before he was even tipsy. They think she’s exaggerating, but don’t care if it means being able to remember Thorin dancing around the bar/pub. Fili is a lighter weight than Kili, but it doesn’t bother him. It does bother Kili though, mainly because Fili will get drunk off his ass and start flirting with Ori. More than once Kili has had to drag his brother away from “The loveliest scribe in all of Middle Earth” before said scribes big brother Dori kills him.
Balin is the best at holding his liquor. Most think it’s because of he’s older, but really it’s because he’s a social drinker and even then he doesn’t drink much. He prefers tea over ale any day. No one has seen Balin drunk, not even Dwalin.
Dwalin. When he’s drunk he gets hungry. And he not hungry for just anything. Oh not, he’s hungry for cookies. He doesn’t care what kind (though, he prefers chocolate chip). They could be stale for all he cares, he just has to have cookies! Though, if cookies are not available to him or he is denied cookies, Dwalin will turn into the biggest drama queen. Complete with (poorly) hidden tears and bitch face #17.

The Hobbit Headcanon:
Every member of the Durin bloodline is a lightweight that can’t hold their liquor to save their life.
Thorin is the worst of all. He’s drunk off his ass in two drinks. Singing and dancing in three, and can’t remember anything that happens after four. Thorin always insists that he knows his body and drink as much as he wants, but then everyone in the bar/pub hears him singing about his family (or cookies... or Bilbo.)

Thorin: Boyfriend? I don’t want to be Bilbo’s boyfriend!
Dwalin: Ugh, well then, what do you want?
Thorin: I just want to be with him. All the time. I want to hear about his day and tell him about mine. I want to hold his hand and smell his hair.
Dwalin:
Thorin: But I don’t want to be their stupid boyfriend!

Thorin, draping himself over a chaise: Dwalin, why won’t Bilbo pay me more attention?
Thorin: I’ve tried everything! I even tried surprising him at the door.
Thorin: Naked.
Dwalin: Thorin, you didn’t! Other people live here!
Thorin, sadly: I did.

Your dreams slipped from sweet to heated. Each centered around Thorin and ended with you being curled up in his arms as those piercing blue eyes poured into yours. How you’d managed to stumble into the heart of such an incredible man you’d never be able to guess, it was easy to fall for him but you’d never have guessed he could have been this caring or as focused on you as he had this past few days. Your entire body sank deeper into your warm cocoon, soon enough growing warmer as a set of lips pressed against your cheek as a deep voice started singing to you in Khuzdul as you felt a warm hand gently stroking your back slowly pulling you out of your dreams.
  **
Yet another long day of paperwork ended and after having to deal with another of his more tedious cases, in which the lawyers he was up against did their best to drag out this case as long as they possibly could, he eagerly found his way to your apartment. Only to find the door locked and himself barely able to control the growl attempting to escape him while Dwalin said, “Maybe she made a stop at the Bakery.”
Thorin let out a grumble as he pulled out his phone sending you a text asking if you’d gone out as they turned to head back up to their apartment. Leaning back against the wall of the elevator once they were back inside it with a huff, “She didn’t mention anything about having to stop by work, she should be in bed resting.”
Dwalin, “Well, you remember what Boromir said, she’s hard to keep in one place for long.”
Thorin tried and failed to fight his smirk, “Still, doesn’t mean I won’t try.” Pulling off the wall when the doors opened to start their walk to their door, pulling out his key to unlock the door and opened it for Dwalin who paused in the doorway glancing down curiously before bending down to lift the small note you’d left, opening it while Thorin glanced over his shoulder.
“My hip was throbbing after Theodred came to help me stretch it out, had to take one of my pills, if I’m still asleep and you wanted in, here’s my spare key. If you wanted to stay up in your place I’ll text you tomorrow when I get up.”
Dwalin chuckled as Thorin grabbed the note and the key with a smirk aimed at his cousin as he headed to grab some files he’d need for work the next day and another set of clothes, “Why would I stay up here when she’s left me a key?”
Dwalin chuckled again, “Good, thought about inviting Dean over, gives us the place to ourselves.”
Thorin came back out with his things tucked in his arms, “Just don’t be too loud, you can hear practically everything down there.”
Dwalin, “Really?”
Thorin let out a quick chuckle, “She mentioned hearing us arguing over what shelves were whose in the fridge. So yes, almost everything, no wonder she was so tense about talking with us.”
Dwalin let out a quick laugh, “I’ll do my best to keep it down, though Dean does get a bit excited.”
Thorin hugged his cousin, “Have fun, I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Dwalin, “Mhmm, will do, give the little lady a hug for me.”
Thorin, “I will.” Smiling as he slid the key in his hand and made his way downstairs. Back into the elevator then back to your door, taking in a quick breath before unlocking your door and heading inside to lock the door behind him and make his way to your room.
First bag and clothes were left on your dresser before the change into a pair of sweats adding his clothes to the pile and heading to the bed. Warmly his smile deepened at you seeing you laid out on your stomach snuggling your pillow, kneeling by your side he kissed your forehead and softly whispered, “Sweetheart?” His smile grew as you let out a soft grumble rubbing your head against your pillow.
Through a quick breath he pulled back the covers so he could slide into bed, stretching out and gently slid you back onto his chest pushing your pillow out to your other side as you curled on top of him. Warmly his lips pressed to your forehead in the stroke of his fingers across your cheek that dropped to join his other hand over your back to the start of a hum of an old tune passed down in his family. On the second loop of the song he started to softly sing the words keeping his smile as he sang. Reveling to the feel of you slowly waking up and snuggling tighter against his chest, thoughts of dinner however had his song pause to grab his phone to order dinner, after which he hung up and began to sing for you again.
.
Your smile grew as his words finally grew clearer when you slid your hands up across his chest, your eyes fighting to open, “It’s a beautiful song.”
His singing paused, “It’s been in my family for generations. Feeling better?”
“My hip’s better, still sore, but it should just be a few days now until it stops being a nuisance.”
“Hmm. I’ll just have to think of other ways to keep you curled up with me then.”
You let out a giggle, “No risk in that part, between shifts I will snuggle with you each chance I get.”
He chuckled, “Hungry? I ordered food, should be here soon.”
You let out a soft groan, “Starving.” Your fingers slid over his chest slowly drawing a rumble from him, locking your eyes with his in the rise of your head, “How was work?”
He let out a breath, “More of the same, latest case still drawing it out as long as they can manage. Thank you for the note, letting me in.”
“Thought I should or you might camp outside till I woke up.”
He let out a chuckle, “Considered it.” His hand brushed sweetly along your cheek, “Left it by your other keys, didn’t want to assume I could keep it, though until you’re back to normal I hope you don’t mind me hanging on to it.”
You smirked up at him slid higher closing the distance pressing your lips to his. Laid flat against his chest as his arms tightened around your back, the knock that sounded on the door earning a joint groan as your kiss broke. He quickly kissed you again before sliding out from under you grabbing his wallet to grab the food and pay for it.
When the door closed he turned to see you slowly walking to your kitchen. With eyes that trailed over the black tank top and green lace panties you had underneath until his notice of the pause taken and fingers pressed to your forehead with a soft groan to the spin of your head. Quickly Thorin set the food down on the table behind the couch and crossed the room to grab you mid sway on your feet. Into his arms he lifted you into his chest and carried you to the couch, “Here, relax, I’ll get the drinks and plates.” Into the pillows he settled you with a press of a kiss to your lips before the move to bring everything over for the both of you. Once done he curled you into his chest after having moved you to the cushions he set on the ground to settle in comfortably for the meal.
“Thank you.”
He smiled down at you locking his eyes with yours, “You don’t need to thank me, I’m here to take care of you and keep you happy. Your head still spinning?”
“Just the meds, it’ll wear off with the food.”
“If you want more later let me know, I’ll order more.”
“This should be good.”
He kissed your cheek then spotted the stack of movies he’d bought from the other day and smiled as he grabbed one at random, putting it on when he rejoined your side. With his arm curled back around you upon his return, both with smiles for the cheesy romance flick he’d grabbed doing your best to control your laughter at how it followed the common pattern that most of the films in that genre followed.
Once the food was put up over his back your hand slid that gained an unexpected shiver from him. The press of your lips to his back after to the slide of hands along his sides he chuckled and bit his lip to not gasp at the ghost of fingers over his abs. To the rise of over his skin a shallow breath escaped him in his peek over his shoulder at you. On your toes between kisses your lips gently brushed across the skin of his back working your hands higher on his chest. In passing the hardening nipples a soft moan escaped him and again he bit his lip to the trail of fingers down the dip in his chest towards his waistband. Quickly his hands circled yours to loosen your grip to turn and plant his hands on your cheeks and lips firm into yours for a passionate kiss.
From your cheeks to your hips he lifted you onto the counter to lean over your bent legs and let out a content hum to the careful spread of legs as best you could to grip his hips and draw him up against you. A simple tilt of your head brought the chance to dart your tongue between his lips met by his for a welcome excuse to melt against you. Muffled however the moan from the slip of the hand under his waistband to stroke him. Eventually you found yourselves back in bed with him stretched out behind you kissing and savoring every inch of your skin he could reach to thrusts behind you until another joint finish when he rolled you over and the both of you melted into another round of passionate kisses.
Both curled in bed until you both agreed on another bath to cuddle through that ended for the choice of another large sweater and panties he chose and helped you into then lifted you against his chest to carry you to lounge through another film he covered you both to stretch out and enjoy with you across his chest.
A few hours later you woke from another nap, raising your head glancing at Thorin’s face relaxed into a content smile, his lips barely parted as a deep snore came from them drawing a quiet chuckle from you. Carefully you adjusted your legs as you slid out of his grip only to wake him in the shift of his arms from your back.
His eyes blinking you into focus before he gave you a sleepy smile, standing to follow you back to bed after shutting off the lights before sliding into bed, “You should sleep in a bed, can’t have you being sore tomorrow.”
Letting out a breathy chuckle he pulled you in for another kiss while you settled into a comfortable position with you stretched over his chest again.
The alarm again signaled your being raised higher to his awakening. Again once you shut off the alarm and his eyes blinked open through the group of grumbled that rolled out of Thorin followed by a sleepy smile that spread across his face. To the sight of you his hand brushed across your cheek, “I can’t possibly imagine a better way to wake up than with you curled in my arms.”
The glow in his eyes nearly left you speechless as your cheeks heated up, “I..”
A deep chuckle escaped him as he slid you higher on his chest, cupped your cheek holding his lips barely touching yours whispering with a smirk, “You’re blushing.” Pressing a passionate kiss to your lips. Then let out a hum as you deepened his kiss to the slide of your hands around his neck and into his hair while he rolled you onto your back. Gently he adjusted the blanket around you, doing his best to keep his full weight off of your hip, curling your legs around him, his hand firmly slid along your leg breaking your kiss to start gently kiss along your jaw. Through your shaky breaths he whispered, “Why did you blush?”
Locking his eyes with yours again adoringly, stroking his fingers gently along the dips of your collarbone, “You’re incredible.”
His smirk returning, “That can’t be all of it.”
“I haven’t heard that before, you’re incredible and you’re saying it to me, even Celery, it..”
His hand brushed your cheek again, “You can talk about him if you want, whenever you want, you can talk to me about anything.”
“It wasn’t, sentimental or adoring.” Your eyes watched his gentle nod, “It was more familiar I suppose, I mean he’d tell me if he thought I looked nice, but it wasn’t all dates and snuggling and flowers, I still loved him, but it, it was just, different, I’m not used to any of this.”
He cupped your cheek leaning in again to whisper, “Good, I don’t want you to ever get used to it.” Gently kissing you, “For a hundred years every chance I get I hope to keep you blushing.” Kissing you again deeper this time pulling your legs around him tighter while your hands ran through his hair as his tongue slid into your mouth twisting against yours through his muffled moan, the kiss broke with a grumble from him as you said, “You’re going to be late.”
He grumbled again starting a trail of kisses from your cheek then down your neck as his hands gently slid from your legs to up under your shirt as he whispered in a low growl, “Good.”
A giggle escaped you as his lips and hands hungrily slid across your skin. Your hands dropped to jerk off and toss away your shirt allowing him full access to your exposed chest while his hand slid between your thighs to start stroking your core, soon finding himself being helped out of his sweats, lowering himself onto you again after grabbing a condom to slide on, “You sure you want me on top?”
You nodded, “I’ll let you know if it hurts, just be gentle.”
He kissed you again as he slowly slid inside you, allowing you to adjust under him, curling your leg around him again whispering with another smirk, “I can be gentle.” Starting his thrusts above you triggering a setoff soft moans from you between his heated kisses. Both sharing a climax then quickly he carried you to the shower where you both helped each other clean up then dry off. His eyes scanning over your naked form before him as you helped him into his suit as he finished his morning routine, kissing you again as a knock sounded on the door followed by Dwalin’s voice calling for his cousin. Thorin chuckled leading you into your bedroom sliding open your underwear drawer and grabbed barely there pair of bright blue lacey underwear and the bra that matched with a smirk and a glimmer shining in his eyes, “Wear these for me?” You giggled again giving him a nod accepting them from him, leaning into his next kiss as he stole another squeeze on your bottom before heading out, “I’ll see you after.”
“See you after.” Giving him a small wave as he turned to glance back at you from your front door before you shut the door to your bedroom to block Dwalin’s view, listening as Dwalin started giving him a hard time about them nearly going to be late. And held back your giggles you heard him relock your door before their steps and voices disappeared down the hall. Your eyes dropping to the pair of panties and bra that he’d chosen with a smirk as you raised them higher, heading to the bathroom to finish drying off before your morning routine and pulling on his choices, happy he’d chosen one of your more comfortable matching sets of lingerie. However back to reality you snapped when your ring tone broke through your daydream.
Lifting the phone to your ear, “Morning Daddy.”
“Morning Angel, how are you feeling today?”
“Much better, hip’s nearly back to normal already, Theodred’s stretches have helped.”
“Good, good, listen, the reason I called, I got word Timothy Hensen got the court date settled for 9am today, feel up to it?”
A smirk slid across your face, “I’ll need a ride, but consider me there.”
“Good, Boromir’s on his way, Faramir’s grabbing the last of the documents from the office he’ll meet you in the courtroom, looks like your plan worked, sending out word you were in the hospital.”
You let out a giggle, “I look forward to seeing his face when he sees me, I’ll see you soon.”
“Sure thing Angel, can’t wait to see him fall apart in open court.” Chuckling, “I’ll let you get ready, see you soon.”
Back into your closet you went after hanging up. Collecting one of your work dresses with a pair of sheer thigh highs you pulled on and lifted the shoes you wanted. Sleeveless with cover over your entire chest the dress hugged your torso and hung loosely around your hips to your knees. To your bathroom you went to wind your hair back into a braided bun with your bangs tucked behind your ear to add minimal makeup. Back to your bed you went and sat to ease on the comfortable black wedges with overlapping thick straps across the tops of your feet.
While you fixed up a quick meal for yourself you skimmed the file from your bag for work, finishing up just as Boromir arrived. Right in he strolled and let out an approving whistle to your ensemble, “Fabulous as always Sis, might as well give him something to look at while you tear him apart.” Reaching into the small closet by the door and grabbed your dark grey fitted suit jacket to cover your dress he helped you into it before escorting you down to the car.
His eyes turning to you as you giggled, “Can’t believe he fell for it.”
Boromir chuckled, “Why wouldn’t he jump at the chance to handle this with anyone but you.”
The elevator doors opened and he led you the short way out to his car, his eyes dropped to your shoes, “You sure you can handle those today?”
“I’ll be fine, besides, have to keep up the appearances.” Boromir smirked closing your door and walking around the car to climb in himself, starting his car and made the short drive to the courthouse. His eyes locking with yours as you both climbed out once he’d parked in his assigned spot, “Don’t worry, brought the pills for after, already cut up so you won’t have to carry me inside.”
Boromir chuckled curling his arm around your back, “You barely weigh anything Sis, carrying you isn’t a problem. Did you tell Thorin you’d be in today?”
“He already headed in to work, didn’t want to disturb him, he’s got a lot to handle right now with his cases.”
Boromir nodded, “Right, that Tallend case, hate to be on that goose-chase.” His hand gripping your side tighter as he smirked, “Perhaps he might need a hand with it when he hears about this.” You let out a giggle as you headed into the courthouse gaining more than a few shocked reactions from the people while passing them.
  *
Thorin and Dwalin both reached their office only to hear word about the largest case of the year suddenly jumping into the days docket in the courthouse. Both decided to leave their tedious researching for their Tallend case until after the short bench trial scheduled for that day, hoping to gain seats in the gallery for the show wishing to learn which poor Prosecutor had been saddled with this case.
The whispers around them grew as they entered, the crowd eyeing them curiously searching for clues to weather or not they were the ones going against Timothy Hensen, eventually searching the next group of Lawyers who had filed in for the show. Next Hensen and his client Dyllon Brambor arrived triggering a deadly silence followed by another trickling of whispers as they stood near the bench by the doors to the courtroom they were scheduled to appear in.
Hensen’s head turned in notice of the Durins who were whispering to each other in Khuzdul eyeing him and his client. A smirk stretched across Hensen’s face as he strut over to greet them smugly, nodding to the both of them, “Thorin, Dwalin, I see you’ve made it out into the sunshine for once, through the massive shadows from the stacks of paperwork from that Tallend case.”
Thorin smirked back, switching to the common tongue, “I’m surprised to see you in court so soon, last we heard your case wasn’t due till after New Years.”
Hensen, “Well, we decided, why wait?” His smirk holding until his eyes darted towards the direction the growing whispers had come from then quickly dropped as his mouth opened in shock, both Durins turned their heads curiously with smirks sliding across their faces to view of you headed straight for Hensen with a confident stride.
  *
The crowd parted while you neared the courtroom. Your eyes landing on Hensen at the Durin’s sides, Thorin’s smirk nearly forcing a blush over your cheeks as his eyes slid over you taking in your figure and secret lingerie he knew to be hiding under your work attire, closing the distance between you while Hensen did his best to regain his composure after your surprise appearance.
Hensen forced a smirk on his face looking down at you doing his best to hide the fear in his eyes, “Jaqi Pear.” Letting out a long breath as he eyed your figure, “Long time since LawSchool.”
Your face broke into a large smirk paired with a spark flashing through your eyes that triggered a beaming sense of pride in the Durins and brought their smirks back, “And yet you still can’t look me straight in the eye, or face me in open court.” His smirk dropping as you continued, “Guess your client isn’t as eager to spend Christmas with his family as he let on.” Your eyes darting to the Durins then back to Hensen, “I’ll see you inside.”
Turning to meet Boromir’s side just as Faramir met his side who opened the door for you and followed you inside as Brambor rushed over to his Lawyer’s side grabbing his arm pulling him to the side, loudly whispering, “I thought you said she was in the Hospital!! Wouldn’t be out for weeks!!”
Thorin and Dwalin caught Boromir’s head nod to the side inviting them inside, both glancing at the panicking Lawyer and Client before heading inside, Thorin walked to your side on the opposite side of the small wooden divider, smirking at you as he asked in thick Khuzdul, “You’re supposed to be in bed.” His eyes darted to your hidden lingerie again before meeting yours again.
“Got the call this morning, this wasn’t supposed to happen for another few months, didn’t think he’d have jumped so fast when he heard I was out.”
Dwalin, “He said you’d be out for weeks.”
“I may have over exaggerated when I was last in the office.” Smirking up at him.
Thorin did his best to contain his chuckle as Hensen and Brambor entered taking their spots, “I can’t wait to see this.” Both of them turned to claim their seats as the guard appeared announcing the case and the arrival of Judge Treebeard. The tall elderly man eyeing the room with a stern expression before claiming his seat and allowing the trial to start. The Durins along with the rest of the packed courtroom listened intently as you both gave your opening statements and you eased through your first few witnesses and experts, each question driving Hensen’s shoulders lower with your attacks aimed at everything he’d hoped would be overlooked. Everything that no other Lawyer had taken the countless hours to search through mountains of nearly two decades worth of criminal records and background information on Brambor.
Nearly 30 years spent brutally attacking both Men and Women. Most cases never making it to court and the ones that did always got dropped for various reasons. But this time there was no escaping for him, stupidly finding himself caught on tape and leaving DNA behind, but with one of their latest motions they had gotten his history thrown out of court unless he brought it up himself in his questioning and cross examinations. Three hours in you’d finally gotten what you wanted, Brambor had smugly urged his Lawyer to put him on the stand, proudly claiming to be able to outsmart you, attempting and failing to, soon enough finding him stumbling straight into bringing up, not just one of his prior victim’s names but making a joke about what he’d done to her.
Facing your desk eyeing your notes to grab the next file you were going to read off of the Durins caught the spark in your eyes as he continued his story about his past crime, then a familiar head tilt as your shoulders rolled back triggered a memory in the Durin’s minds from their old debate team in College. Both remembering you. The small girl that had nearly left them in furious tears as you shredded their every defense. Your face remained blank as you turned back to Brambor spotting Hensen covering his face for a moment knowing there was no way they could bring the case back now after this as you read from the long list of crimes he’d been accused of and had been tried for. Each causing a larger smirk from Brambor as he elaborated on each charge ending with, “And none of that matters ‘cuz the Judge said you couldn’t use any of that!!”
Even the Judge rolled his eyes before he leaned over to say, “My exact specifications were they could not be brought into the case unless you brought it up.”
Brambor’s expression dropped as he turned to face his Lawyer catching the glare buried in his defeated posture and expression as you said, “All of those crimes are the proof for a history of violence and brutality, and yet you still missed some.”
Brambor’s eyebrows pressed together as his face slowly slid into a scowl, “That’s all of it!”
“Most, but not all, there were still the others before ’98.”
He leaned forward gripping the rail before him, “Nadia is so dead after this! I paid her nearly 3 million to keep her greedy ungrateful mouth shut!! That contract of hers said she couldn’t say a word!!”
The Guard stepped forward to push him back farther in his seat as the Judge told him to stay calm as you continued, “Nadia didn’t say a word about anything.”
He tired to push forward against the Guard’s grip, “Then just how did you hear about it?!”
“During the entire time, even before the Judge, no one else was involved? No one else knew?” Walking back to your table to set down the sheet in your hand.
He shot you a smug grin, “Only Tony, but you’d never hear it from him!”
“Tony Braddea?” Turning to face him again leaning against your table on your fingers. Doing your best to ignore the painful throbbing in your hip as you leaned all your weight onto your good leg tucking your other foot behind it.
He let out a curt laugh, “Tony Bracciolidea! Braddea never pulled his head out of the dirt long enough to get things done the Brambor Family way!”
You gave him a quick nod, then glanced to the Judge who met your gaze raising an amused eyebrow unsure of what you’d head to next, a small smile sliding across your face, “No further questions, Your Honor.”
He nodded trying to hide his smile as you took your seat, carefully crossing your ankles and leaning onto your good hip as the Judge glanced at Hensen who stood and said, “Defense rests, Your Honor.” Dropping heavily back into his seat as Brambor was released back to his seat. Hensen drew in a shaky breath as he glanced over his sheet with notes on what he’d hoped his closing statement would be before standing and giving a revised version of it then returning begrudgingly back to his Client’s side as you stood to give yours before the Jury got called out for their deliberation.
The Judge and the gallery cleared out as you, your brothers and the Durins all filed into a small meeting room down the hall. As the door closed behind you you’d found your way to the table drawing in a shaky breath, Thorin rushed to your side noticing your shaking hand that you’d raised to your forehead to brush your bangs out of your face, his hand reaching out to stroke your back as he leaned in closer to you, “You alright?”
You turned to face him drawing in a deep breath adding a nod, “Ya, just, a long time on my feet.”
Boromir handed you a granola bar he’d pulled out of his bag along with a quarter of one of your pain pills as Faramir opened the bottle of juice he had brought for you. You slowly started eating the granola bar as the Durins went into a full swing praising your attack against Hensen, eying the portion of the pill in your hand as you sipped on your juice between bites before handing the pill back to Boromir.
Thorin’s eyes darting down at the exchange, “You’re in pain, take it.”
You glanced up at him, “Not till the Jury comes back, I can’t be out of it when they give the verdict.”
As his mouth opened to reply the door opened as a Guard informed your group that the Jury was back with a decision, Thorin let out a quick breath, “Right after…”
“I’m taking it and going home, I know the rules.”
Thorin shot you a smirk in response to yours before following you back to the courtroom. To soon again finding your way out to the parking garage to file back into your cars after the guilty verdict earning him a life sentence while the Police were informed of and searched for his hidden accomplice, Thorin opened your door for you with an adoring gaze letting out a gravely whisper, “You were truly terrifying today, brought back a few memories from School.”
You giggled up at him before climbing in, “I’ll see you after work.”
“Yes you will.”
Eying your legs as you pulled them in and crossed them as Dwalin leaned in to say, “Get some rest Love, you’ve earned it.”
You giggled again, “I will Dwalin.” Waving at them as Thorin closed the door and they made their way back to their car to head back to their office spending the whole drive talking about you.
.
As you reached the start of your block you finally took your portion of the pain pill. Faramir ordered your Chinese food once they’d helped you upstairs and out of your shoes and jacket before giving you large hugs and headed back to work after paying for your food that just arrived. The both of them having left you curled back up on the couch eating nearly your whole order as you put on a daytime court drama. One the leftovers were put up deeper into your spot you sank when the dive back into your show ended with you slipping into a nap you woke from a few hours later to a blaring infomercial about some new form of bleach. Groggily your hand found the remote you used to switch the channel to something else.
A chime of your phone beside you however had the remote plop back to the cushion to free your hand to lift the phone and read Thorin’s message that asked, “Hungry? We’re on our way home.”
“I’m always hungry.”
His smirk grew as he read your words, quickly replying, “Good, I’ll cook you something. Still wearing that dress?”
You bit your lip containing a giggle, “Yes.”
“Good, I can’t wait to take it off of you.”
Their heavy footsteps could be heard across your ceiling, the quicker of the two you assumed to be Thorin’s, heading through to drop off his work bag since it was his Friday giving you the weekend off together before having to head back to his tedious schedule. After which he was eagerly headed back to your apartment downstairs with the dinner supplies he’d bought on their way home including a new box of condoms.
Your head turned to the doorway as Thorin unlocked your door and slipped inside with a smirk before locking it again and heading over to you, at your new spot standing beside the couch, giving you a quick kiss, “Relax Darling, I’ve got the meal handled. Your hip hurt still?”
“It stopped, much better now.” You followed him into the kitchen leaning back on the counter until he set down the bags and crossed the short distance between you, grabbing your hips and lifting you onto the counter.
“Relax.” Giving you another kiss then turned to start cooking, you leaned back against your hands behind you as he filled you in on the rest of his day before heading back to kiss you again while he carried you to your table, setting out the meal and offering you the single rose he’d somehow managed to hide from you.
You let out a giggle accepting it, “Thank you, it’s beautiful. Soon I’ll have enough flowers to start my own shop.”
Thorin chuckled before kissing you again, “I brought more than flowers, Darling.”
You leaned forward as he took his seat beside you, “Really? What might that be?”
He smirked at you, “You’ll have to wait and see.” Grabbing his glass of juice and holding it up to you, “Congratulations on your win today.” You let out another giggle raising your glass to tap against his, “When you’re fully healed we’ll have a proper toast.” Taking a sip as he watched you do the same before starting to eat.
His eyes locked on yours in a nearly teasing way while you filled him in on the entire time you’d been on your case. How you had managed to find all the information you had uncovered and how you’d known to head down that route to get past his Lawyer, Henson, who was notoriously known for being normally ruthless to everyone but you.
“So how did you get to him, I can’t think of anyone who could get over on him since he started at his firm.”
You smirked at him, “He tried to best me in Law School, I suppose after several years of falling in 4th after me and my brothers it sort of sealed his spot, he’s avoided facing me openly since our last debate team inter school challenge, he took it really hard, much worse than you and Dwalin did in the regionals.” Thorin’s smirk grew, “Though at least you two put the effort in behind your arguments, dug for the facts, Hensen’s always chosen the easiest cases with all the clear cut answers.”
Thorin, “That’s part of the reason why we got placed on Tallend’s case.”
You smirked at him coyly asking, “Have you gotten to their automotive records yet?”
His eyebrow rose, “And why would I check those?”
You shrugged at him, “Call it, due diligence.”
His smirk came back, “And just how did you stumble across this, ‘due diligence’ of yours?”
“You forget I work in the records department most of the time, part of my job is sorting through each file that comes in, I stumble across things from time to time.”
“I’ll do that first thing when I get back in two days.”
“You’re off?”
“I rarely get a full weekend, but I plan to make the most of it. When are you due back at the Bakery?”
“2 days, have to make a cake for a child’s birthday party, plus a couple dozen cupcakes.”
“Good, then I get you all to myself.”
“Unless my family throws a celebratory dinner or something, then you’ll just have to share.”
“As long as I get you alone again after.”
.
When your meal was finished he cleared the table placing the dishes in the dishwasher and starting it before rejoining you with something behind his back that he’d grabbed from the freezer, heading to your side eyeing your figure as you stood. Quick to close the distance to kiss you and press you back against the table whispering, “Keep your eyes closed.”
A giggle escaped you while you heard him setting something down on the table beside you before kissing you again softly and sliding his hands around your middle. Sweetly he peppered kisses along your jaw smirking at your soft gasps and sighs as his hands and lips slid over you before you heard him open the package beside you whispering, “You look incredible in this dress.” Pressing a chaste kiss to your lips earning another soft gasp from you as his fingers slid along your jaw and his thumb slowly brushed along your lips before gently slipping between your lips as they parted. A breathy chuckle escaped him as your tongue flicked against his thumb, his other hand slowly raising a chocolate covered strawberry to claim his thumbs spot.
Another soft gasp escaped you as the cold chocolate grew closer to your lips, a smile forming as you asked with a curious smile, “Chocolate?”
The faint scent that triggered your guess earned a chuckle from him while he slid it gently along your lips before allowing it to meet your eager tongue, sliding it between your parted lips then softly saying, “Now bite.”
Another giggle escaping from you while your lips met again trying to contain the chocolate and the juice from the piece of strawberry that you had bitten off. “Mmm, delicious.”
A chuckle escaping him as he raised it again, leaving you breathless in the passionate kiss he gave you before he slide the strawberry across your lips. Playfully teasing you with it before allowing you another bite chased by another kiss to reward continuing the pattern he kept until the strawberry was gone and flush against his chest he held you in an enamored haze of a lip lock. Down from your cheeks his hands fell with fingers trailing the thighs he had ached to be between all morning and afternoon. Under the band of your thigh highs fingertips traced certain not to move them any lower while his lips now trailed down the side of your neck to the blind location of his jacket. Down at the bottom hem your hands moved upwards along his sides to his shoulders, a signal he took to briefly retract his hands to shrug out of his jacket he tossed it across the table in the dart of his tongue to meet yours with hands prompt to return to those thighs of yours.
His feet kicked out of his shoes to the slide of your hands up his chest landing on his tie. Carefully you pulled it free from his collar and started to unbutton your way down his chest. Finally freeing his chest for your fingers to lightly brush along his bare skin that drew another muffled moan from him while his hand slid from your thighs gently upwards under your skirt to cup your bottom to pull you closer against him.
Tracing your fingers along his belt you heard another chuckle from him as he broke your kiss to whisper, “Open your eyes.” Once again you followed his order, still tracing your fingertips along his belt as his eyes bored into yours suggesting another strawberry, “You want another?” You nodded shooting him a smirk as he leaned in to kiss you again. When he pulled back he undid his cuff links with his teeth and shook his arms free from his shirt adding it over his jacket on the table and pulled you forward a step and turned you as he spun a chair to face you with his foot and sat on it eyeing you hungrily, “Turn for me.”
Smirking again you started turning until he gripped your middle, “Slowly.” Keeping his hold a few moments to test how tense you might be and if you secretly wanted him to stop before loosening his grip. Still loosely he kept his hands to slide over you in another dip under your skirt to raise it so he could cup you under it. When your turn had finished he gently pulled you closer to him raising another strawberry gently to your lips with a smirk. Just as you bit into it his fingers slid up between your thighs brushing against your core triggering another moan from you as he bit his lip before purring, “All I could think of in court was tearing this dress off of you with my hands as I pulled off your panties with my teeth.” Another moan escaping you as his fingers firmly stroked the wet lace that kept him from direct contact with your skin as his darkened eyes met yours with a playful glare, raising the strawberry to your lips again, “Hold it.” Still he smirked as you followed his order so his hand could freely slide around your back to unzip your dress, “Now pull it off.”
With watch of you he bit his lip to the smirk you gave him around the strawberry between your teeth in the grip of the dress you took to pull it up over your head. Every detail of you he took in to the reveal of his hidden prize that had him gasp at the sight of you when that dress joined the pile of clothes on the table. Up over your stomach and thighs while his occupied hand began to tease you between your thighs his lips trailed over what skin they could reach. To his hold of the fruit between your lips he murmured in the rock your body gave against his hand in a yearn for more, “Another bite.” Patiently he watched and waited for you to chew and then swallow before offering you the rest to a much wanted firmer stroke of his thumb, “And the rest.” Gladly you finished off the fruit to see what he would do next now that it was gone to the sight of him sucking the melted chocolate and strawberry juice from his fingers.
Around your lower back that hand moved and sweetly he asked, “Can you sit down for me?” With a nod you lowered to his lap to be draped in the arm that pulled you close enabling, while his busy hand remained focused on pleasuring you, the other to aid in his main goal. In between the impassioned lip locks atop his lap you rocked into his hand while he cupped, kicked, licked and sucked across your now bare chest once the lace bra in the way was removed and tossed away. Up into his hair your hands worked and against your lips lowly he chuckled in a single handed lift to your soft moan in a move to place you on the table in as gentle way as possible.
“I can take these off?” he hummed with heated eyes locked on your hungry stare when both his hands left you to trace the waistband of those panties barring him from having all of you right then and there. Wordlessly you nodded to a flick of your tongue over your lower lip tucked into your mouth and he chuckled back, “I can’t hear you,” to accent his words he drew a gasp from you in the dip of his thumb to brush against your clit again.
His brow rose in wonder if he had rendered you speechless only to hear you squeak out a soft, “Yes.”
The response and weakness of it split a wide smirk across his lips to rumble, “I don’t think I caught that, Darling.”
His finger again stroked along the hardened nub firmer this time earning a low moan from you just widening his smirk in the louder, “Yes,” that followed.
“As you wish,” he hummed to the retreat of his fingers to ease under the waistband he slid down to remove the soaked garment lower to each tender kiss he left along your hips. The lace hit the floor and he settled you back pressing his lips firmer in needy kisses over your hips and thighs surrounding a murmured order of, “Lay back.”
His dark eyes locked on yours in a trail to your core was a giggle worthy final sight before you did as you were told and laid back only to gasp and moan after when his tongue met its prize. Over his back and shoulders your legs slid with fingers in a reach up by him to tangle in his hair that won moans of his own in pleasure to the control it gave you to guide him where you wanted while he drove you to the brink. Firm in place he held you between breaks a couple fingers granted his lips a couple stolen nips at the thighs he withheld his urge to mark as his own with hickeys and indents of his fingertips while you arched and rocked between moans and gasps.
Two climaxes and while you laid steadying your breath up your belly his lips trailed with hands sucked clean on the table on either side of you. Inches from your lips when you did find yourself able to lift your head he hummed in a press of his hips to yours with firm proof of how badly he wanted you, “You want me here or on the bed?”
Around the back of his neck your hand moved luring his smirk out again and his forehead to dip so your lips could reach his for the kiss you so badly wanted, “Bed,” you replied in the breath taken before lips melted together and his hands guided your legs around his back to make easy work of a single enamored lift of his love to carry to bed. There he laid you out and broke the kiss and chuckled at the huff you gave him when he rose onto his knees between your thighs. With eyes fixed on yours and hands that brushed away every try to quicken him in the teasingly slow removal of his belt. Only to shake his head and climb off the bed to fetch another condom he placed between his teeth to slowly undo his pants and let them fall. One sock at a time he made a pile and his eyes dropped with yours to the pulsing bulge in a fight to escape from under his briefs. Those were pushed down as well and the packet between his teeth torn for a single stroke to the muscle so badly begging for attention after being ignored for so long.
Across the bed he crawled to place himself between your legs with slow trails of his lips up your legs he eased both thigh highs off of on his way to hover above you to purr in your ear, “You want me inside you?”
Another “Yes,” had his hips to ease back against those that had inched up to press into his and with a dip of one of the hands you both moaned through the steady motion of his hips to glide right inside of you. Right there he held you where he stopped, almost completely inside and with his hand on your hip he stayed with forehead to yours and stole a gasp laced kiss to the give your body released to allow him in entirely. Fully in he pushed again teasingly in a confirmation he couldn’t go any further only to moan against your lips to the pulse of a warning he was teetering on the edge already just being inside of you. Focused and controlled his kiss again held the warning in his hands in their double check that you had hold of him that that your patience had paid off.
The lift to have you on his lap however found you open mouthed on his lap. A single gentle tug and over his back your hands fixed mid gasp widening his smirk that returned and spread in the poorly restrained moan to the move of his free hand to stroke you again. One arm kept you chest to chest right in the spot he wouldn’t hurt you in his losing battle to let you beat him over the edge that grew more difficult to each melt lower into his shoulder and chest when your body couldn’t focus enough to kiss and breathe through this. Broken breathy chuckles from him echoed every pitifully muffled moan and broken gasp of his name until his arms stilled to your gasping grip across his back that melted into a broken moan for the climax that had his eyes roll back when the grip around him doubled he loudly moaned to every pulse he gave inside you at being drug to euphoria right along with you.
Just one moment he felt you tense on the lazy trail back to reality and in his chest he held you there unwilling to release you yet. He got his game and had seen you contently adored to bliss and now that you were back soft and tender his hands moved to glide across your back in firm shows he wouldn’t let go to the press of his lips to your temple. For a moment he felt the confusion wash over you as for how to react and around you he folded his arms through hummed sentiments and murmured comments until the heavenly moment your head lifted and his lips could plant to yours. Until he knew you had come back to your senses fully he held you there. Until he saw your eyes were clear of that haze he reigned back his expression only to smile when he saw you fully focused and then blush bashfully when he hummed, “There you are, Darling.”
Chuckling into your hair he buried his face into when you turned away preventing a kiss adoringly nuzzling his head to yours in a try to goad another kiss from you. “I didn’t go anywhere.” You squeaked only making him chuckle again.
“Oh yes you did, and drug me long with you to heaven and back.” That had you turn your head and him smile at you in his own inch back to meet your gaze, “Call me a liar.”
“You-,” Promptly you giggled against his lips when his crashed into yours and in a muffled battle of grumbles through the endless kiss he playfully entrapped you into he felt you melt again and gently his lips left yours when his body guided yours back onto your back and his eyes locked on yours simply savoring the silent stare to the fingers that grazed across his back to let him up in case that was what he wanted. Breathlessly he chuckled and stole another gentle press of his lips to yours then eased back to slip out of you and dispose of the condom and ease back down to curl around you again in a welcomed warm lingering kiss. Against your lips he hummed in a break for air, “You enjoyed it?”
Through a nod you answered, “Yes, very much.”
He let out a chuckle, “We can try it again sometime if you like, even taking turns being in charge if you like, though for me at least, I don’t want it to be an every time thing, you okay with that?”
You nodded again, “Sounds good, though I may not be as good at it.”
Another breathy chuckle escaped him as he bit his lip, “Oh I’m sure you’ll be excellent at it.” Kissing you again, “You want the other strawberries?” You smirked up at him and he smiled at you, “No orders this time, Darling.” Sweetly kissing you again when you nodded again. Out of your hold and the bed he climbed on his way to fetch the snacks he brought back to tangle up with you through the rest of the night in turns of feeding them to one another and battling bouts of new heated kisses. The cramp that threatened to lock up your hip and back found you back however in the tub for a timid massage and ease of the tension before you both curled up to drift off to sleep at the very first yawn.
