Hi there, Pinky! Here's a Trollhunter AU based on a really odd dream.

• Jim is born as Jennifer Lake in this. Barabra had gone missing when Jen is 11, so she's living with Strickler.

• In the dream Jen was thinking this: "I've been having these odd thoughts lately. Like, is any of this even real, or just my imagination?"

• She had also been having nightmares about the Eternal Night before the amulet called to her.

• Strickler does know that something is wrong with Jen but can't pry it out of her no matter what he does. He thinks it's related due to the fact Barabra disappeared.

• Due to her mom's disappearance, Jen has slowly been spiraling into a depressive state and her nightmares about the Eternal Night aren't helping it. Toby and Strickler have been doing their best to cheer her up, but they can't be around her all the time.

• She is thirteen when the amulet calls to her. Strickler, when he found out, cursed Merlin out big time.

• I remember this part: "Your daughter is learning quickly, but she will not survive very for long, Barbara Lake."

• That tells me Barabra is still alive but is held captive somewhere. Pretty sure it was Angor Rot who said that sentence though I don't know why he took Jen's mom.

• Jen is slowly smiling again thanks to Blinky and Aaarrrggh's (and later Draal's) efforts. I know she eventually starts dating someone, and I did catch the word Doux, so it could've been Douxie.

Whether or not Jen and Barabra are actually reunited is up to you. Same with why Angor kidnapped Barabra, and how Jen learned her boyfriend is a wizard.

Oh wow. Always a fan of Strickler (reluctantly) adopting Jim! Or Jen in this AU as Jim is female again. And I like the idea of Strickler being fuming mad at Merlin for choosing his adopted daughter at 13.

Oohhh and it seems Jen/Jim is a seer of some sort and able to see the future to some extent. No wonder she's having nightmares, it would make sense then for Strickler to have tried taking her to a therapist of some sort. But as the affliction is magic based, it makes sense Blinky, Aaarrrgghh and Draal might be more helpful than Strickler and Toby. Even with Strickler being a changeling.

If Barbara is held captive by Angor then it's probably the result of Morgana ordering him to do so.

Hm, Douxie and Jen/Jim is a interesting ship... Not to my liking though so maybe Claire is still a possibility dating wise? In this AU she could already know magic perhaps...

1, we have two versions of Splinter in here. One is Yoshi Hamato, adoptive father of Mikey and April, and a nurse (Barbara). The other is Splinter, Leo's father, the former Trollhunter (Kanjigar).

2, That's gonna be Big Mama! Who else could be a changeling and be in a romantic relationship with the MC's parent, amiright? Her relationship with the twins is more of a cool auntie rather than a mom.

3, Casey's human form is of an older teen, very punk, very Douxie looking. She works as the janitor of the museum, diferent from Nomura's historian tour guide job. Shes a little bit of a cleaning freak. If someone litters inside the museum she will bite and maim and yell. I dont have her ref yet vkdkvks I gotta get back to this au more often.

4, OMG yes oh gosh Hindi is so difficult that would be a disaster, it's canon now. I dont really have a proper ref for her? But I doodle her a lot, so. She has two diferent sets of regular clothes. One looks more like her Rise design of the puffy dress with frills, and other looks more like Claire's fun purple tuxedo. The tall punk demonica boots are always there, so is the tiara and the bazillion hair pins. Maskera on fleek.

5, Leo, upon getting his ass beaten into the next sunday by April and being casted out of Troll Market, stays in her house as Guardian and starts training April (and Mikey) in battle techniques and such. Since there is no need in having Raph taking care of Mikey because Leo can keep an eye on both the human kids at the same time, he isnt there. But, since Leo has a clear preference for being around April, and Mikey and Raph bonded a lot very quickly, Mikey sneaks out a lot to hang out with the big guy, often sneaking him into the house too. Mikey taught Leo how to prank and make puns.

6, Oof, excellent question. Havent thought about Hueso yet.

How about a wizard adopting a changeling?

What had been shaping up to be a rather boring day at the market takes a turn when a young boy darts behind Douxie’s herb cart. Douxie, who had almost been asleep, blinks uncomprehendingly as the boy stares up at him with pleading eyes.

“Don’t tell them I’m here,” He whispers.

The young wizard doesn’t get a chance to say anything because at that exact moment a group of city guards rounds the corner. They are brandishing spears and breathing hard as if they’d been running for a while.

“You there!” One of them barks at Douxie. “Have you seen a boy run by? Brown hair, green tunic?”

At his feet the boy presses up against the cart. He’s shaking now. Douxie makes a snap decision. He doesn’t know what the boy has or hasn’t done but he’s not about to hand a child over to a group of armed men without knowing why.

“I haven’t,” Douxie says leaning casually against his cart.

The man lets out a disappointed huff and then turns to his men.

“Split up. We can’t let him get away.”

He turns back to Douxie.

“If you see him, tell us. He’ll be sporting a burn mark on his cheek. You can try to catch him yourself if your feel up to it -there’s a reward- but be careful because he’s very dangerous.”

Douxie resists the urge to look down to see if his stow-away has a burn.

“Sure,” He says. “But what’s a kid done to warrant that if you don’t mind my asking?”

“He’s a changeling,” The guard growls. “No one suspected him until he got kicked by a horse this morning. The iron shoe revealed him for the demon he really is. The guard who was close by tried to grab him, but the little monster bit him. We’ve been chasing him all morning.”

“A changeling here huh?” Douxie says. “Crazy.”

The guard grunts in agreement and then heads off down the road, leaving Douxie to ponder his best course of action. He glances down at the boy. Sure enough, there’s a burn mark on his cheek. He looks to be about five or six.

Douxie comes to a decision.

“I was just fixing to head out for the day,” He tells the boy. “Why don’t you hide in my cart and I’ll get you out of this place?”

The boy stills.

“You… you’re helping me?” Then his eyes narrow. “No. You’re going to hand me over aren’t you? You want the reward.”

Douxie huffed.

“Kid. If I was going to hand you over, I would have already done so. You can take my offer or leave it but do you really want to run around out in the open?”

The boy hesitates, watching him warily for a moment. There’s a shout in the distance and he flinches. He climbs quickly into the cart and covers himself up with the canvas.

Douxie packs up his herbs and then they’re on their way. He takes the south gate out of town because the guard there is always lazy and doesn’t check carts very thoroughly. He makes it through with no hassle.

Once he’s about a mile away from the forest he turns off the main road into the forest. His passenger notices the change in terrane and his head pokes out.

“Where are we going?” He demands, trying to quickly get out of the canvas but getting tangled up in his haste.

“To my camp,” Douxie says.

He slows down and then stops as the boy keeps struggling.

“Need a hand?”

The boy flinches when Douxie reaches out to him, so he withdraws.

“I just want to help you,” He tells him. “You don’t have a place to go, right?”

“No,” He admits. “But what’s in it for you?”

“Nothing really,” Douxie says with a shrug. “But…”

He hesitates. His own secret is almost as dangerous as the boy’s.

He looks into the fearful green eyes and then thinks: What the heck?

He holds out his hand and lets some of his magic gather around it. The changeling’s eyes widen as they follow the wisps of blue light.

“I’m a wizard,” He says. “Let’s just say I know a thing or two about getting chased out of towns by an angry mob.”

The changeling doesn’t quite loose his wariness.

“Do you need something from a changeling to make a potion?” He asks, finally getting himself untangled. “I heard that wizards sometimes use changeling bones for stuff.”

Douxie groans and drags his hand down his face.

“For the last time, I just want to help you out,” He says with a sigh. “Look if you find out I’m lying feel free to steal all my gold or whatever and run off into the forest.”

The changeling considers that and then settles back down in the cart.

In about ten minutes they reach the cave where Douxie has been staying. Once he’s out of the sun, the changeling side-eyes Douxie and then transforms into his troll form in a flash. He’s a little green thing, with big brown wings that look much too large for him.

“A changeling,” A voice says from the back of the cave. The kid’s wings flare out in alarm. “Really Douxie?”

Archie, in dragon form, emerges from the shadows.

“The town guard was chasing him around in a mob, okay. If they’d caught him they’d try to torture the location of his familiar out of him and you know as well as I do just how pointless that is.”

“Perhaps,” Archie says. He looks like he’s going to say more but Douxie shoots him a pointed look.

“Fine,” The familiar huffs. “I’ve caught dinner. I imagine you’ll want to cook it.”

“Definitely,” Douxie says going to a corner of the cave to get the wood.

“So what’s your name?” Douxie asks his guest over dinner.

The changeling stiffens at being addressed.

“Waltolomew Stricklander,” He says.

Douxie blinks.

“And I thought my name was a mouthful,” He says. “Mind if I call you ‘Walt’?”

The changeling slowly nods.

“Excellent. I am Hisirdoux Casperan, but you may call me Douxie and this is my familiar Archie.”

“Nice to meet you,” Walt says in an automatic sort of way.

“Likewise.”

Looking at his clothes, Douxie figures that he probably belonged to a good house before he got outed as a changeling.

“So Walt,” Douxie says, figuring he ought to try to get to know the kid a little better. “What do you like to do?”

Walt slowly finishes chewing the bite he’d taken out of the rabbit leg.

“I like reading,” He says slowly. “My… familiar’s father was teaching me how to play chess.”

That confirms Douxie’s theory that he had been planted in a well to do house. It’s definitely best for the kid if he gets far away from here. More money generally means more people will be hunting for the runaway.

“Nice,” Douxie says. “I’ll have to see if I can make us some chess pieces then.”

Walt blinks at that.

“Why?”

“Why what?” Douxie asks, absently stroking Archie who has settled across his lap.

“Why would you make chess pieces? I’m not going to be around that long.”

Ah… That’s what this is about.

“Are you leaving?” He asks.

The changeling shrugs.

“Well, if you decide you want to have some company for a while. You’re welcome to stick around,” Douxie says. “It’s always just me and Archie.”

Archie gives him a look which he chooses to ignore.

Walter’s wings are just slightly wrapped around him. He’s still keeping the fire between them.

“Think about it and let me know in the morning,” Douxie says with a shrug. “I’m going to be moving on tomorrow.”

Walter nods.

Douxie wakes up at some point during the night to Archie poking at him. He shoots a blank glare into the dark but gets up anyway. The fires still glowing so Douxie heads over to it, dragging his cloak with him.

He pauses when he spots a small form curled up in the corner. It looks like Walt is finally asleep. Douxie hesitates a moment and then walks over to him. The changeling looks so small curled into a ball with his wings wrapped around him. Douxie wonders how old he actually is. Changelings are always older than they look, in part simply because of the rate trolls age at, but this one seems young. He could just be a good actor of course.

Douxie wraps his cloak around the small figure and returns to where Archie is waiting by the fire.

“So why are you trying to convince a changeling to travel with us?” The dragon-cat asks irritably. ‘Do you want us to get sold out to his comrades at the next town we get to?”

Douxie huffs.

“Look Arch,” He says. “I couldn’t just leave him there. They were going to kill him!”

“Rescuing is one thing, but you didn’t need to bring him here, let alone ask him to start traveling with us. What are you thinking?”

Douxie sighs and stares into the fire.

“He reminds me of myself. Okay?”

Archie blinks and then cocks his head.

“I…” Douxie starts awkwardly. “Back when my magic first manifested my town… my family… they didn’t take it well. I told you about that.”

Archie nods but doesn’t say anything waiting for him to continue.

“Seeing Walt today, on the run for something he ultimately didn’t get a choice in reminded me of that.”

Douxie shivers. He remembers the cries of “witch!” The fear in the eyes of the people he’d grown up with. The hatred.

He doesn’t realize he’s scratching at his scars until Archie buts his head against his hand. He gives his familiar a grateful smile and starts stroking his head.

“I didn’t have anyone for a long time after that. Not until I met you,” He continues. “It… It was lonely and scary and… I guess when I saw Walt today.” There’s a lump in his throat. He remembers the changeling’s familiar scared eyes looking up at him. He swallows hard. “I thought that it would be nice if he didn’t have to go through that.”

They sit in silence for a while. The soft night noises filter into the cave and the fire flickers gently.

Archie sighs.

“Very well. If… Walt… wants to stay he can. I will support your decision.”

Douxie grins down at his familiar. He swipes quickly at his eyes and then pulls him into a hug.

“Thanks, Archie. You’re the best.”

His familiar’s quiet purrs belie his grumbling.

When Douxie wakes up in the morning. There’s a second set of wings wrapped around him. He cracks open his eyes and finds that Walt has cuddled up to them during the night. The little changeling’s head is pressed up against his chest and his wings are wrapped around him and Archie. Douxie’s cloak is over the three of them.

Some fun thoughts on this AU: ~Douxie kind of ends up being Walt's father figure in this. ~Walt doesn't usually call him "Dad" though unless he's feeling particularly emotional or being sarcastic. ~Due to their appearances Walt sometimes has had to pretend that he's Douxie's father, which is always weird for them. ~Walt ends up becoming Douxie's apprentice and learning magic. ~He isn't connected to the Janus Order because they think he got killed when he was exposed. He's fine with that. ~When he finds out about Jim being the Trollhunter he tells Douxie (who was out of town at the time.) ~Jim and Toby are very confused when they ask about how Douxie and Strickler are related and Strickler says that Douxie raised him. Their graying history teacher referring to what looks like a 19 year old as his father does not compute.

Welcome to Live Commentary

I had no one to talk to while watching the movie and I hate being alone with my thoughts so I wrote everything down in my notes app. It's not coherent! Enjoy!

Aw yeah 1.5 seconds of Bular that is all I needed! Might as well stop now I've seen my boy I'm satisfied.

Why is there a nearly 4 minute recap as if I haven't watched the show at least 50 times. I should be the one giving the recap.

The beginning felt a bit forced to me but maybe that's just me? Like they just tried to squeeze too many things into a small timeframe without any buildup, it just didn't really work. Congrats on the engagement! This is my OTP so I'm very happy! But it came out of nowhere.

Nari in Douxies body is so wrong and I love it and hate it at the same time (positive)

Eli is BIG. I knew he was gonna be tall but I was not prepared for that chiseled face. Or the fact that he stepped off the ship without glasses? I wear glasses and I would not choose to step off a spaceship blind.

Love seeing Barbara actively participating in battle too. Good for her! Power family!!

Nomura is so talented I love seeing her fighting on the good side. I can't explain it but I love digitigrade legs they're just so pretty?? Aesthetically pleasing??? Fuck yeah, legg! I could watch Nomura run around and be badass all day.

So my favorite characters were Bular, Draal, Gunmar and Angor. And before this movie I always half-joked that everyone I love dies, how I still like Strickler and Nomura but apart from them all of my faves were killed in the very order of favoritism. AND NOW LOOK AT THIS. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I LOVE A CHARACTER. MY LOVE IS TOXIC.

God i can NOT get over Steve's pants. I mean I read a spoiler he was gonna be pregnant but I thought it was a prank or shitpost. I did not see this coming and I am never going to be over it. I love how he and Aja just roll with it and nobody else even cares. They've seen weirder stuff. So he's pregnant now. Whatever.

Jim's hand is bandaged and his ribs still hurt. I love that they're actually consistent with his injuries. I mean sucks for him but hell yeah for hero that doesn't always win!

Okayyy here comes the heartstone. Why not!

For a second I thought Toby wasn't gonna be there and Jim would return to the right time. But there he is!

Soooo. Anyway. These whole past years I've rewatched this show over and over and over again are cancelled now?

OKAY AT LEAST WE SAW NANA FOR A SPLIT SECOND THAT'S IRONIC TIMING

So we get the quote again. And Trollhunter Tobias is nice. Cool. Cool AU I mean, but I don't know. I don't knowwww. I've been way too invested in everything to just accept that it never happened?? So uh. Hm. How about this.

Strickler survived because fuck you, and Toby also survived and just has scars now. Maybe a wheelchair but he's fine, also he can use the Warhammer for super speed and make it awesome once he's used to it. Archie and Charlie get freed once they rebuild the bridge (and they were playing scrabble to pass the time). Nomura is still dead because she died on screen and I can't really deny that but she's with Draal so it's okay. Everyone is traumatized but they'll be fine. NotEnrique is still babysitting 500 babies and Steve is about to bring 7 more.

In summary, I reject Groundhog Day ending but everything else was great, as long as it actually happened. It was a good movie. But you can't just cancel years of passion. Having the prospect of a million "canon AUs" sounds great for writing but at the same time nooo you can't do that he didn't have to go back THAT far HHHHH

I liked the movie. It was a great watch and a satisfying end to a franchise, but I gotta say I do not fancy the ending of it so I will from now on be in denial. I honestly feel kind of betrayed that this show was my whole life for so long, I learned every smallest fact, and they basically deleted it from existence. I know what they were going for, I think, but no thank you I will be going with my own opinion. Still gonna rewatch it a few dozen times though ✌🏻

TALES OF ARCADIA/HTTYD AU

Douxie is Hiccup and still has his magic. He's been trying to hide it from Merlin who's the chief and his adoptive father (though he is shit at it) because if somebody finds out he'll surely be killed.

Archie is Toothless who can still talk, has glasses, and has an affinity for salmon. Instead of taking off Archie's tail, Archie loses his glasses (if you were to write this you could take off Archie's tail for more angst).

Zoe is obviously Astrid. Enough said. (But she also has magic)

Gobber is the Onion Brew Man (I forget his name)

Jim, Toby, Steve, Eli, Claire, Krel, & Aja are the other Viking teens!

Steve is the Equivalent of Snotlout and Coach Lawrence is Spitelout

Jim is still Trollhunter, but Arcadia (Instead of Berk) wants him to kill magical kinds like Troll and Dragons

Toby still gets his Warhammer

Claire still has shadow magic but has to hide it until Douxie accidentally catches her one day and takes her under his wing.

Krel is an inventor whose parents want him to be a warrior and Aja is a healer who wants to be a warrior. (A little different, but Merlin is chief)

Steve is still a bully, but he learns new ways after he is punched in the face by Jim.

Eli is still small and scrawny.

They are all nicer but don't really accept Douxie because he is kinda a screwup. (Poor Doux)

King Arthur and Morgana are Grimald in this take wanting to wipe out all magic. Morgana goes rogue and becomes an even larger problem.

Gunmar and Morando is the screamy boi from HTTYD 2 (I haven't watched it in a while okay?)

TROLLS EXIST, THEY EAT YOUR SOCKS!!!!!!!!!!

Merlin is killed in this AU but still by King Arthur, so chaos is gonna go down.

Bular, Angor Rot, Strickler & Nomura (until later), and The Bounty Hunters are all minor threats.

Barbra is Gothi.

On one hand I feel bad for inflicting pain upon the fictional kindergartener but on the other hand, in your kindergarten!Douxie au, do Merlin and Morgana die at the same time that they do in canon (aka end of summer after Eternal Night)? And if so, who takes him in now that his adoptive grandpa and aunt are dead? Or does Archie decide to find a way to legally adopt the human child he's been caring for?

No. This isn’t fair.

Just after Eternal Night, Merlin and Morgana places Douxie in the care of Barbara and Strickler. Douxie struggles against the changeling’s grasp.

No, no, no. He couldn’t be left behind. Not again.

Ah yes, again. He knows he’s adopted. Morgana had objected to the child knowing about it so soon but Merlin told him anyways. It was simple. His parents left him behind in the orphanage.

But they wouldn’t... right?

“Be brave, my child,” Morgana smiles sadly. She pulls him into a tight hug and kisses his forehead.

Merlin watches somberly from a distance. He has seen glimpses in the time map and knows there’s not much time left for him or for Morgana. He wonders if he should maintain this separation between him and Hisirdoux. To leave without a word. Yes, that would leave the child with only fond memories of him and none about his last words. But then again, Douxie didn’t deserve to have another loved one walk out on him without an explanation.

“Huggie!”

Merlin looks down to the child stretching out his arms, ignoring the pained cries of a Strickler who is clutching his teeth marked hand. There was only a split moment to make a decision.

He leans down... and embraces his grandson.

“Goodbye Hisirdoux. We shall meet again, soon.”

There comes a time when summer vacation must come to a close but Douxie had never been more excited. Everyone’s coming home! He watches with glee as Jim runs to his mother, Claire to her parents, and Toby to his nana. Steve is calling Eli and Coach Lawrence while Krel is preparing a transmission for Aja. Through it all the little wizard searches and searches, but he can’t find them. Where are they?

A green figure approaches him, as does a certain familiar, hesitancy plastered all over their faces. Archie nudges Douxie and his heart shatters upon looking at the child’s panic stricken face. He looks at Nari who kneels down and raises a hand to cup his cheek.

“They loved you so much. They really did.”

No. This isn’t fair.

So I recently binge-read the Anarchy Dreamers webcomic, which is about a world where often when kids (and maybe some adults? I can't remember) die, they come back from the dead with supernatural powers and/or physical changes (but their nightmares can wreak havoc on the world). Those who come back from the dead are called both dreamers and dreamwalkers, though occasionally death isn’t neccessary. And now I kind of want to write an AU about it, so...

AU where the Reckless Club+Darci all got Saturday detention with Senor Uhl... however, there was a fire that would later be blamed on faulty electrical. Only Senor Uhl and Shannon made it out alive. The other seven students all made it out undead. Now, five of them are illegally fighting nightmares.

(Warning: below the cut there are mild Wizards spoilers)

Reckless Dreamers

Jim

Physical changes: he basically became troll!Jim but the changes are almost entirely cosmetic.

Powers: He can manifest armor and weapons.

Jim is one of the first of the seven of them to start fighting nightmares.

Claire

Physical changes: her blue streak turned white, and her irises turned purple. When she feels intense anger or fear, her hair turns fully white, her sclera turn black, and her pupils turn pale purple.

Powers: She can control shadows so they take other shapes. In addition, she (and up to two other people; she has to hold their hand) can use shadows to travel from one place to another.

Claire holds off on fighting nightmares for a while because of her mom, but when her own nightmare threatens Enrique she is able to fight back against it - something incredibly rare for dreamwalkers... then again, there could be an outside influence affecting her.

Toby

Physical changes: his teeth are now orange crystals; at least he no longer needs braces!

Powers: Gravity manipulation

Toby finds out that Jim is fighting nightmares, alone, and immediately decides that he needs to help his best friend.

Steve

Physical changes: he has small horns that probably look like either Draal’s or Gunmar’s

Powers: not much beyond enhanced physical strength

Steve started fighting nightmares soon after Jim and Toby started, but it was a while before he and Eli teamed up with Jim, Toby, and Claire.

Eli

Physical changes: if you shine a light at his eyes, his pupils will reflect green light

Powers: mild telekinesis, enhanced reflexes and dexterity

He has theories about the fire and the nature of nightmares, and he’s going to get answers, dammit!

Darci

Physical changes: Pink mole ears

Powers: Unknown

Darci doesn’t fight nightmares because it’s illegal and there’s people with actual training who are doing so, but she also won’t snitch on the others to her dad because she knows they’re trying to do the right thing

Mary

Physical changes: her hair is now more of a really dark red than a true black

Powers: Invisibility

Mary chooses not to fight, but she does casually help the others avoid detection

Other Dreamers

Blinky

Powers: He can make things combust

Physical changes: Four arms, six eyes.

Blinky is the school guidance counselor, and he’s been trying to get the Reckless Dreamers into his office to try and help them cope with their changes. He’s also trying to monitor Shannon to see if she manifests dreamwalker traits. Unfortunately, there are only so many hours of the day. He lives with his husband Arghamount in Trollmarket, a suburb of Arcadia Oaks where a large percentage of the population is dreamers.

Strickler

Powers: knife summoning

Physical changes: wings, horns

Strickler is the only other adult dreamwalker at Arcadia Oaks High (not counting the occasional 18-year-old who is about to graduate). He is secretly a member of the Janus Order, a political group that believes dreamwalkers are better than most humans (but does not advocate for the deaths of normal humans, unlike more extreme dreamwalker supremacist groups)

Aja & Krel

Physical changes: They now have four arms each and cyan blood. Their eyes are now the same as their Akiridion eyes. Aja was shorter than Krel before they died; now she’s taller.

Powers: They both have light manipulation, which allows them to look like their living forms. Aja is able to create hard light weaponry/shoot lasers. Krel can create portals.

The Tarron siblings really are a pair of human twins (Aja will not shut up about being four minutes older) who escaped the violent coup of their home country of Cantaloupia. Varvatos was supposed to get the two of them and their parents to America, where they would live with Fialkov’s eccentric second cousin (Lucy) and her husband (Ricky). All four Tarrons were gunned down as they escaped via a truck. Aja and Krel came back from the dead; Fialkov and Coranda did not.

Merlin

Physical changes: honestly he’s so old and the changes were so subtle that he no longer remembers

Powers: longevity, among other things

Merlin helped to start Camelot LLC with Arthur’s grandfather, Aurelius Pendragon. As the years have gone on, Merlin has been slowly locked out of Camelot LLC. He has a license to fight nightmares internationally.

Morgana

Physical changes: Five tiny gold horns have formed along her brow. Her nails also naturally grow in as gold claws.

Powers: levitation, shadow manipulation, low-level telepathy

Morgana died when she was sixteen, due to a camping accident gone wrong. She also lost her left hand in this accident. No one’s sure, but it’s suspected that Guinevere’s death was caused by Morgana’s nightmare. Morgana is secretly channeling Camelot LLC funds into the Janus Order. She’s going to take interest in Claire’s abilities sooner or later.

Douxie

Physical changes: His bangs are naturally blue. When he feels intense emotions his eyes glow blue.

Powers: part of his soul effectively split off into a talking dragon-cat; though Archie might actually be the result of a nightmare. Douxie might have other powers as well.

Douxie became a dreamwalker as a homeless orphaned five-year-old, and his circumstances didn’t get better until three years later, when Merlin rescued Douxie from his own nightmare, adopted him, and brought him back with him to California. Merlin has encouraged Douxie to fight against nightmares, even though it’s not legal. Now that Douxie is nearly an adult, Merlin often leaves him alone with Archie in their Arcadia Oaks apartment for days at a time. Morgana will often check up on Douxie, if she’s visiting the Janus Order. It’s technically neglect, but Douxie doesn’t see anything wrong with this considering his life before Merlin.

Zoe

Physical changes: gills, fins, and scales as seen in this post where I illustrate them

Powers: lightning control

Zoe drowned in a swimming pool when she was twelve. She’s one of the few dreamers at Arcadia Oaks Academy other than Douxie.

Seamus

Physical changes: he gained swirling tattoos across his upper back. They faintly glow when he uses his powers.

Powers: Density control

Seamus died of a bad case of food poisoning when he was eleven. He joined the Junior Dreamer Guard (it’s like JROTC) in hopes that it’ll help him get a scholarship.

Araceli Conrad

Physical changes: her bones are now crystalline in nature

Powers: magnetism (if she teamed up with Zoe they could use light manipulation)

Conrad was crushed by falling furniture when she was 14. The only people allowed to call her by her first name are her grandmother and her girlfriend, Shannon, but that doesn’t mean that everyone respects this.

Nana

Physical changes: Her eyes are a brighter shade of green than they were prior to becoming a dreamer

Powers: Longevity

Nancy became a dreamer in World War One

The Living

Shannon

Has survivor’s guilt. She’s looking into the fire, to see if there was anything suspicious about it.

Arthur

Known for being the CEO of the company Camelot LLC, and also having anti-dreamer political policies despite his sister and one of the company founders both being dreamers. His politics have become harsher ever since Guinevere died under mysterious circumstances.

Kubritz

Military; she’s been experimenting on ways to fight nightmares while not involving dreamers. She’s also conducting illegal experiments on dreamers.

Masks We Wear, Lies We Share - This is a Strickler centric fic set a little bit pre-canon following the regular day to day chaos of both him and his fellow changelings while Project Killahead is underway. Content warnings appear when required. This is currently on hiatus possibly looking towards a complete rework.

Ghosts he left behind - Aka Ghost!AU. Jim made the choice to give up everything he’s ever known and submerge himself in Merlin’s potion except here, he never made it home again afterwards. The Eternal Night is still coming, Jim is currently missing, his fellow Trollhunters have no idea where he is nor what happened and they’re running out of time to find him and bring him home. Contains healthy doses of my terrible sense of humour.

As long as there are stars in the sky - Trollhunter Douxie AU! It makes absolutely no sense but this is exactly why I’m enjoying writing it and trying to make it work anyway because that’s how we roll in this house. Canon is... Somewhere.

A Heart of Glass - Snapshot based AU fic where after horrific accident that resulted in the loss of his left hand and thought to be dead, Douxie is unintentionally driven straight into the hands of the Arcane Order and somehow manages to build up a third found family while (Attempting) to overcome trauma. They’re chaotic and incredibly ill suited for dealing with this but they’re trying their best.

Coming soon: You weren’t there - A oneshot following Douxie of the day the Eternal Night occurred.

Savouring memories - A oneshot in which Douxie who is currently trapped in Camelot of yore unwittingly gets to have one final conversation with Morgana before her fall.

These thoughts of you - A oneshot where Zoe thinks about the very first time she met the wizard who would later become her best friend even if she didn’t think all that much of him at the time.

Could you do Walter Strickler? (Charakter headcanon)

1. Sexuality headcanon: Bisexual. I'm not sure if this was influenced by others headcanon's but I think it just makes sense. Especially when he's a changeling, it's kinda implied there.

2. Otp: Stricklake. If anyone doesn't know that by now I don't know where you've been lol.

3. Brotp: Douxie, definitely Douxie. In at least one of my AUs they're basically siblings and in another Strickler has all but adopted the wizard into the family. Even though they've never had a Canon interaction. :-(

4. Notp: Angor Rot and Strickler. The power imbalance potential just makes me incredibly uneasy and I only ship Angor with Dictatious anyway.

5. First headcanon that pops into my head: He loves Jim and humanity as a whole, and he was desperately working behind Bular's back to keep Jim alive until he was forced to confront him. I'll take this to my grave.

6. One way I relate to this character: His wings. I know that's random and maybe not conventional, but before my fixation was on dragons and it's what sent me into a sharp spiral into the Trollhunter fandom.

7. Things that give me second hand embarrassment about this character: Strickler's God awful puns. It makes me question how on earth he was considered an actual villain at any point in TOA.

8. Cinnamon roll or problematic fav?: Strickler's a morally grey bastard and that's why I love his character. Even though he adopted the biggest cinnamon roll ever. And he's more fun to write with the moral ambiguity!

New month means it’s time for around round of “What the hell is Feather writing and why has Ghost!AU chapter 3 not come out yet”!

Masks we wear, Lies we Share aka Strickler fic - On hold / No progress

Ghosts he left behind aka Ghost!AU - Chapter 3 out last month was a lie wasn’t it? I’m so sorry it IS being worked on between the monitor death when I was getting First Encounters out, sidetracked by Stars and other things I didn’t make as much of a dent as I hoped. I’m gonna make an attempt for Christmas which will be more doable when the transcription I’m working on is complete in a few days time though the downside for me is the next scene is Merlin and I’ll spend most of the time wanting to strangle him for his vagueness even though he’s right... The part after that is gonna be rather painful as it’s a heavy subject mingled in with innocent conversation between [[Redacted]] happening sooo yeah. At the time of typing we’re still on Day 1 which is something canon very understandably skimmed over in Jim Hunters so I’m doing a lot of the heavy lifting before [[A different redacted]] happens as there will be no real stopping once it does. Fun!

You weren’t there aka Douxie oneshot - Uuuuh I edited it a bit but no real progress to be honest I think I decided to do said random edits when i was grabbing a quote from the file for that ask meme.

Along came a word - writing meme collection aka A bit of everything - Somehow this thing has gained another six drabbles. I need help.

Savouring Memories and First Encounters aka the two drabbles with legs are both out now. The first is a conversation with Past!Morgana when Douxie ends up back in Camelot and the nature of grief, the other is how the first meeting between Douxie and Zoe potentially went.

As long as there are stars in the sky aka Stars - First chapter of the Trollhunter Douxie fic is out! I have all my notes prepped for chapter 2 but I’m holding off touching it until Ghost!AU gets it’s long awaited chapter because I know I probably won’t stop if I start now. This is my attempt to be good.

Heart of Glass aka a very terrible AU where Moppet is driven from Camelot after he loses his hand to Merlin as result if a horribly spiraling situation since he released the prisoners and ends up being (Kinda sorda long game) adopted by the Arcane Order. A friend accidentally sparked this and now I’m dragging several people into this rabbit hole with me because it’s a fluffy horribly angsty mess with three potential ends that hinge entirely on the actions of others. For writing specifically however a couple days ago I started writing a conversation between Douxie and Claire, recently possessed by Morgana who had recognised him at the restaurant because of his hand, who is now trying to figure out the connection between the two of them to mixed results.

I won’t lie this thing will probably be various snapshots across the timeline as I physically cannot do a straight run of this mess. Just something to take my fancy as and when it does you know?
