I’m just going to say it. Nightwing should not have a solo series. He should have a Brave and the Bold with how many people in universe like him and how big of a group his friends and family is.

Gotham's Superhero Week: Bruce Wayne's Scandalous Antics! Is Romance Brewing Between Batman and Superman?
It's Superhero Week in Gotham City, and the excitement is reaching epic heights as people from all corners of the country flock to the city for the Superhero Festival extravaganza! The streets are teeming with attendees clad in their favorite superhero ensembles, ready to revel in the heroic festivities.
But hold onto your capes, folks, because Gotham's very own celebrity socialite, Bruce Wayne, has taken the city by storm! Sporting the iconic guise of Batman, the Dark Knight himself, Wayne has graced the festival to show undying support for his beloved hometown. The sight of him donning the Bat-suit and striking fabulous poses has sent shockwaves through the crowds, leaving fans in awe and paparazzi in a frenzy.
And the surprises don't end there! As the festival roars to life, Wayne takes center stage, belting out a heart-rending rendition of 'I'll Be Your Superhero.' Joining him is none other than the sensational Central City songbird, Alison Green, shimmering in the breathtaking attire of Wonder Woman! The stage ignites with their electrifying chemistry, leaving audiences craving more.
But alas, not all is smooth sailing in our Batman’s world. In an unfortunate turn of events, Wayne found himself at the short end of the stick in a boozy brawl with a belligerent “Green Lantern”. Fear not, dear readers, for salvation arrived in the form of Damian Wayne, the heir to the Wayne fortune, dressed as Nightwing, People’s Sexiest Hero Alive. With his height advantage, he swiftly put an end to the tumultuous scuffle with a nutshot, proving that perhaps not all Waynes are hopeless at combat.
And as if that wasn't enough to set tongues wagging, the Gotham gossip mill has gone into overdrive with jaw-dropping photos capturing Wayne in an intimate embrace with none other than a dashing Superman look-alike! Who is this mysterious Man of Steel? Word on the street is that he hails from Metropolis and works as a reporter. Could sparks be flying between the World's Finest superhero fans? Only time will reveal the truth behind this captivating enigma. Stay tuned, dear readers, as we continue to unravel the secrets of Gotham's Superhero Week! — Gotham Gazelle

DC Comics Characters as Mauraders
So this initially stemmed from my bi yearly harlivy brainrot session where I thought "oh my god, Dorcas and Marlene are so Ivy and Harley." Specifically Dark Knights of Steel Harlivy (I would bury an army for you) (In return you will live here with me/ In return you won't fight in the war. This again? This always) . Want me to explain- gladly. Marlene "dive in head first, my blood runs red and gold, if I go, I will drag you to hell with me" McKinnon, working for The Order and thinking "hey this is kinda sketch, I don't know if we can trust Dumbledore" and Dorcas "every acquaintance is a new connection to better myself, killed by Voldemort personally, I will slither on my stomach if it means I can slice as your Achilles tendon and watch you fall" Meadows being the Anti-Heroes needed to end the Voldemort. They know they must fight in the war, they just need to fight on their own side.
And then I thought- why stop at them. So I present, the Mauraders as DC Comics Characters:
Tumblr media
Starting off strong, James and Lily as the Iconic Blue Boy Scout and Pulitzer Prize winning Lois Lane. Do I need to explain? The Kal-el is so James/Mirrorball coded, and if James ever became a supe, Lily Evans would be the first to know.
Tumblr media
After this, we have Remus and Sirius as Bruce and Selina Kyle. Remus is so Bruce Wayne- an orphan with a bad experience with animals at a young age. Reserved and quiet but a commanding authority figure that eyes turn to in times of need. Like, Remus is so batman but Brucie- oh that all Remu. Remu is a cassanova that everyone has a crush on, the life of the party that drinks iced tea at Gala's and is always limping or wincing over something. Sirius, well for a second I did switch the two and have Sirius be bruce but no, Sirius is so Selina. Sirius steals diamonds from museums, knowing that he has the money and Remus could buy them if he really wanted because "well where's the fun in that Moony." (Sirius has a huge platonic obsession with Superman and when Remus makes the Justice League he is ELATED. He loves going to HQ and telling embarrassing stories to James. He even let it slip that he calls Remus Moony and now all of the Core Members do it too. He loves hates it.) (Also, Sirius is friends with Marlene in any universe and he loves that it annoys Remus a little bit. When Harley/Marlene finally joins the league, they celebrate by breaking into a new art exhibit)
Tumblr media
After this we have Pete as Barry "I could have finished this myself but that wouldn't be as fun" Allen. Pete is kinda just at the meetings as a favor to James and doesn't understand why Batman won't just let him take care of the Joker himself. Peter is nice and always a bit confused as to what is going on. Batman used to scare him, but shortly after learning about Moony, the two started bonding over nerdy shit together.
Tumblr media
With the Arrowverse being the origins of my love for D.C (yes, I know it isn't comic accurate, but middleschool me loved it so fuck off), I have to make Mary as Dinah. I don't know much about comic accurate Dinah- a problem I plan on rectifying in the future- but her general "I'm done with this shit" vibe is matches Mary "i'm leaving the wizarding world and not turning back".
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Alice and Frank as Hawkman and Hawkgirl
Evan and Barty as Penguin and Riddler (Gotham's Penguin and Batman 2022's Riddler because yes)
Regulus as Jason "Do I look like Batman? Musty Bitch" Todd

Introduction
Pawniard, Bisharp, and Kingambit are Dark/Steel type Pokémon that are quite rare, and sought after by seasoned Trainers looking for a challenge. They are prized for their unique typing, Attack stat, intelligence, property-guarding ability, and relative quietness. Like ninja warriors, Pawniard and Bisharp are extremely agile and athletic in the way they move, and blend in well with dark surroundings. Bisharp are also capable of jumping to extreme heights, possibly 30 feet. While Kingambit are significantly heavier and have lost the agility of their pre-evolutions, they are sturdier and more able to take hits, as well as deal slightly heavier damage.
As Pawniard, they are attentive and persistent Pokémon that are constantly looking for something to do. Even though they are completely subordinate to their much stronger evolved forms, they are still independent thinkers who test boundaries and try to get their way. Thus they are difficult to train and need a Trainer who can be a confident and consistent “pack leader”, much like a Bisharp or Kingambit. However, Pawniard still train themselves constantly and love being in Pokémon battles, as their ultimate goal is to evolve in order to reach adulthood.
After evolving into Bisharp, they develop a calmer and more stoic personality. They are also much more physically powerful. Bisharp is known as the “Meta Knight of Pokémon” due to its similarities to the iconic Kirby series character, in both its fighting prowess and behavior. They remain as independent thinkers that are not especially fond of having a boss, because they are naturally dominant over their pre-evolution, although their rare evolution Kingambit is dominant over them in turn. Bisharp are perfect as guard Pokémon, because they are naturally territorial, with great strength and weaponry that is enough to deter intruders. If they evolve once again into Kingambit, they trade their agility and fighting skill for increased bulk, making them more able to take hits, but only able to attack with brute force using the huge blade on their heads.
In medieval Europe, Pawniard and Bisharp were kept by high-class knights, and were even knighted themselves. Like many others, these Pokemon were active both on the battlefield and as guards that protected castles. There was even a Bisharp general that led an entire legion of Pawniard during the war in Kalos that took place 300 years ago. However, Pawniard and Bisharp were actually the Pokémon of choice for more sinister knights who painted their armor black, in order to keep their coat of arms hidden so that the lord they served could not be determined. This has only added to these Pokémon’s reputation as mysterious and formidable creatures, even though many have served as noble protectors. Any Bisharp that managed to evolve into Kingambit were only allowed to be owned by royalty, just like Aegislash.
Because Pawniard, Bisharp, and Kingambit are listed as a potential danger to humans, they require an additional Pokémon license to legally own.

Important Considerations for Owning Pawniard, Bisharp, and Kingambit
Providing enough exercise and mental stimulation: Pawniard and Bisharp are incredibly intelligent Pokémon that need plenty of exercise and behavioral enrichment. While Kingambit doesn’t need much exercise, it still needs as much mental stimulation as its pre-evolutions.
Their strong temperament: Pawniard, Bisharp, and Kingambit are not easily trained, and require an experienced Trainer who can take charge.
Late evolution: Pawniard does not evolve into Bisharp until level 52, and a Bisharp must defeat 3 wild Bisharp that lead groups of Pawniard and are holding a Leader's Crest to evolve into Kingambit.
Maintenance: Pawniard, Bisharp, and Kingambit need stones to regularly keep their blades sharp.
Destructive behavior: Pawniard, Bisharp, and Kingambit are likely to demolish home property and dig holes, especially if they are bored.
Care
Pawniard, Bisharp, and Kingambit are somewhat high-maintenance Pokémon because they fastidiously look after the condition of their blades, and must have whetstones to sharpen them on. For safety reasons, simply allow the Pokémon to do this itself. You must also provide pieces of wood or other items for it to test the sharpness.
Most of Pawniard, Bisharp, and Kingambit’s natural diet is meat. Their regular food should be supplemented with some fruits and vegetables, and raw meat such as Tauros or Unfezant meat at least a few times a week. Pawniard tend to eat a lot, due to them evolving at a late level and thus requiring lots of energy. Pawniard eats 1.5-2 pounds of food per day, Bisharp eats 5-6 pounds, and Kingambit eats 7-8 pounds.
Enrichment is an extremely critical part of owning Pawniard, Bisharp, and Kingambit as they need frequent stimulation. A favorite activity that Trainers do with these Pokémon is allow them to exercise their cutting abilities on newspapers or pieces of wood. This is similar to their natural behavior of cutting branches and weeds to test the sharpness of their blades. Another great activity to do with Bisharp or Kingambit is trimming trees and bushes as landscaping. Pawniard absolutely love taking time destroying cardboard boxes that are larger than they are, and those keep them occupied. During the process, they use their blades to cling to the box in the same fashion that they capture their more natural prey. It takes much less time for a Bisharp or Kingambit to demolish cardboard, but it still works.
Recall training is also an excellent form of enrichment for any Pokémon. Use a whistle or call the Pokémon’s name, and have treats or a toy ready so that the Pokémon is motivated to come to you. When using this for play, do it while hiding out of view of your Pokémon so that it has to find you, like hide-and-seek. Bisharp and Kingambit use a recall command with Pawniard in the wild, so this is much like a natural behavior.
Pokédex Entries
Pawniard
“Blades comprise this Pokémon's entire body. If battling dulls the blades, it sharpens them on stones by the river.”
“They fight at Bisharp’s command. They cling to their prey and inflict damage by sinking their blades into it.”
“Ignoring their injuries, groups attack by sinking the blades that cover their bodies into their prey.”
“After shredding its prey, it sharpens its blades on a stone by the river. Each Pawniard has its own favorite sharpening stone.”
“It follows Bisharp's orders to a tee when it attacks enemies. After slashing an opponent, Pawniard clangs both of its blades together.”
“It uses river stones to maintain the cutting edges of the blades covering its body. These sharpened blades allow it to bring down opponents.”
“A pack of these Pokémon forms to serve a Bisharp boss. Each Pawniard trains diligently, dreaming of one day taking the lead.”
“Pawniard will fearlessly challenge even powerful foes. In a pinch, it will cling to opponents and pierce them with the blades all over its body.”
“Any chips in its blades would prove fatal for it. After each battle, it diligently maintains its blades using its favorite sharpening stone.”
Bisharp
“It leads a group of Pawniard. It battles to become the boss, but will be driven from the group if it loses.”
“Bisharp pursues prey in the company of a large group of Pawniard. Then Bisharp finishes off the prey.”
“This pitiless Pokémon commands a group of Pawniard to hound prey into immobility. It then moves in to finish the prey off.”
“No matter how strong the Bisharp, it's said that if the blade on its head is chipped, it will retire from its position as the boss.”
“It leads a group of Pawniard. Bisharp doesn't even change its expression when it deals the finishing blow to an opponent.”
“It's accompanied by a large retinue of Pawniard. Bisharp keeps a keen eye on its minions, ensuring none of them even think of double-crossing it.”
“Violent conflicts erupt between Bisharp and Fraxure over places where sharpening stones can be found.”
“This Pokémon commands a group of several Pawniard. Groups that are defeated in territorial disputes are absorbed by the winning side.”
“Bisharp mercilessly cuts its opponents to pieces with the sharp blades covering its body. It will do anything to win.”
Kingambit
“Only a Bisharp that stands above all others in its vast army can evolve into Kingambit.”
“Though it commands a massive army in battle, it's not skilled at devising complex strategies. It just uses brute strength to keep pushing.”

Fashion Across Etheirys Pt. 1: Ishgard
Reminiscent of Medieval Catholic France, Ishgard leans hard on this by doubling down on the aesthetic of their nobility. Meanwhile, the less affluent of Ishgardian society tend toward an English punk style or are just too poor to have the luxury of choice in style. Hilda and her leather jacket come to mind. There are, of course, the outliers like Stephanivien, who, while of noble descent and from one of the High Houses at that, wears a steam punk-esque engineer outfit due to work. Neo-Ishgardian garments also lean towards the steampunk aesthetic, which is more Victorian in nature but still very English. The other styles within Ishgard are more within the style of Medieval fantasy that's more in line with the Final Fantasy series, or are reminiscent of Catholic attire like that of the church priest's clothes and the Scholasticate coat.
Tumblr media
Ishgardian fashion is one that brings to mind nobility, with their heavy fur coats made for the Coerthas cold and their tall pointy hats called hennins with that strip of cloth over them. Yet these, while traditional, do not make up the entirety of Ishgard’s fashion landscape. According to an interview run by an Eorzean Weaver, the rich and fashionable of Ishgard have begun to favor cavalier hats as well as doublets. [1]
This tendency towards the clothing of soldiers is on brand for Ishgard’s history and tendency towards war and battle, a fact made clear by their patron deity, Halone the Fury.
Ishgard only recently began to patronize the use of leather in their clothing, thanks in part to an Eorzean Leatherworker and the efforts of Elde, having previously favored metals such as steel and iron. A remnant of their more temperate climes before the Calamity had struck. However, with the cold now a permanent feature to Coerthas and her climes, cloth, and leather are gaining new traction. [2]
Their military fashion also resembles this love for iron and steel, favoring chainmail, giving their military a color palette of gray with the cloth padding showing beneath. Their dragoons favor emphasizing blue, with their armor designs including spikes in the off chance a dragon tries to swallow them and being closer to the body’s fit to allow for more time in the air to perform their fearsome jumps. Dragoons have a pattern on their armor reminiscent of dragon scales. The armor is designed and based on Haldrath, the first Azure Dragoon, a design that has been improved upon since then by the ever-militant Ishgard. They’ve managed to find a technique wherein they quench the Mythril in dragon’s blood rather than water to ensure it is lightweight yet durable. However, with the end of the Dragonsong War and the peace between Man and Dragon restored, this technique has been swapped for an old technique, making a comeback. By smelting the ore in dragon flame, it imbues itself with their magics, a technique that likely forged Haldrath’s own armor.
Tumblr media
Dark Knights do not have this tendency for blue as the usual citizens of Ishgard. However, their armor takes many elements of Ishgard’s classical militia, from the dragoon’s iconic spikes to the chainmail and padding of their less decorated soldiers. In terms of their color palette, they keep to darker steel combined with bright reds. By combining the armor designs of the dragoon and the common soldier, they stand out from the crowd as one set aside from the class divide within Ishgard. Their armor is more than just the combined elements of the military of Ishgard. Having been refined in the Ishgardian art of metallurgy and smithing, they have thickened the plate while ensuring flexible chainmail around the joints, providing the Dark Knight with all the coverage and protection one would need when wielding the greatsword. Controversial, though these knights of the meek may be, they are still a part of Ishgard.
Tumblr media
Machinists serve as a new part of Ishgard’s military thanks to the efforts of Lord Stephanivien of House Haillenarte. Because of this, they favor the clothing of Lord Stephanivien's work, utilizing a single long tail with a pouch for utility. Typically, Machinists also double as some form of engineer. Hence, they also favor goggles for eye protection, as well as thick gloves to protect the hands while working. The prototype of an upgraded version, titled "Gunner's armor," was conceived during the development of the uniform of Hilda's Hounds.
Merchants often present themselves cleanly, wearing a gentle blue color, as well as thick coats to help protect them from the cold while out hawking stalls or otherwise selling their wares. The women and men style themselves similarly, thick coats and sensible pants over the noble’s stricter gendered clothes of dresses and skirts. The more battle-ready of the nobles, though, tend to wear more suitable outfits such as a doublet with leggings and the like. Armor is also preferred if one is of high standing militarily, as in the case of Ser Aymeric de Borel. The military’s high standing is preferred over a noble’s usual high standing as it reflects the nobleman’s perceived duty to Ishgard.
Tumblr media
The upper class and nobility tend to wear brighter colors afforded to their class in the warmer shades of the spectrum. Yellows and reds reminiscent of Coerthas’ once vibrant greenery make the noble women stand out, while the men prefer a simple but not overstated color scheme of black and an accent color of their choice. Blue is for the more patriotic of the men, while red gives a man a bolder figure. Accent colors stay within black, gold, or brown to give the brighter colors a chance to shine. General notes in terms of Ishgardian fashion is the preference in keeping themselves fully covered as the weather of Ishgard allows for nothing less. The rich of Ishgard prefer to reflect that richness in the quality of the cloth, with brighter colors, detailed embroidery, and better keeping them from the cold. Those from the Brume keep to more practical aspects, rougher clothing, muted or lack of dyes, and less general freedom to wear fashions.
Tumblr media
In comparison, the common folk wear clothing typical of their class and current placement in society. This is due to the class divide of Ishgard. Those from the Brume tend to wear less gentle fabrics, rough and rugged. Their outfits are typical of those suffering from poverty or those of a lower income. The workers of Ishgard tend to wear outfits that suit their job.
Special Mentions:
Tumblr media
One cannot go to Ishgard without noting the heavy and deep influence of the Ishgardian Orthodox Church. In comparison to the color choices of the general layman in Ishgard, who wears blue as either the main statement color or to serve as an accent color, the church’s accent colors are red. Bright red, with the clergy wearing white whilst their seminarians, the students of the Scholasticate, wear black and red in the seminary’s classic coat.
1 From the Weaver Questline, the interviews tell you that the upper class has begun favoring cavalier hats and doublets. This is a common trend amongst most of the younger nobles as military accomplishment is important.
2 From the Leatherworker Questline, this is the major factor for why Elde struggled to bring leatherworking into Ishgard's clothing industry.
Note: Dragoon, Dark Knight, and Machinist got their descriptions from both observation and the Encyclopedia Eorzea II entries. The civilians were purely observation from looking at all the npcs, while the Special Mention is a minor discussion on the church-based attired of the Scholasticate and that of the Ishgardian Clergy.
If there are any inaccuracies lorewise, please feel free to correct me so that I can amend this! This is simply something I started because I figured this would be useful for me when doing outfits, then figured it would be best kept here. Thank you for reading!

Shazam! Fury of the Gods Review
Tumblr media
What's going on everyone! Dan here and today I'll be reviewing Shazam! Fury of the Gods!
I'll try to not give as much spoilers as possible but there will be some, you've been warned.
First off I'd like to say, I loved the first Shazam! movie from 2019. I thought it was the best DC hero movie made in the 2010's even beating out movies like Man of Steel and the Dark Knight Rises. So when I heard Shazam! was getting a sequel, I was excited and looking forward to it thinking it'll be as good as the original, maybe even better. Unfortunately that was not the case as this movie was a bit messier than the original in terms of plot and some character development issues. This movie was horrible, but it wasn't as great as I was hoping either. I'll be going over the strengths and weaknesses of this film.
Tumblr media
Now this is where the real problems start, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock. As we all know, Johnson wanted the role of the Black Adam character and years later as he is now one of the top A list actors in the business, he got his wish. However, He would only do the role if he got his own stand alone Black Adam movie which he did, I have a full review of The Black Adam movie and mentioned this in that review but didn't go into how it would hurt the Shazam! franchise. At the cost of giving Black Adam his own solo film, it crippled the sequel for Shazam! especially given that Black Adam is the most iconic villain Captain Marvel himself has in his rogue's gallery. I'm sure this sequel was meant to have these two meet but unfortunately Dwayne got his way and pretty much left the Shazam crew scrambling. It's a similar situation to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever where they had the plot ready but due to the death of Chadwick Boseman they had to rewrite the script which had a very mixed reception to say the least. I find it to be a real shame we didn't get the battle of Captain Marvel vs Black Adam on the big screen, that would have been epic. Who knows? maybe they'll work something out to where they'll meet and fight, maybe Superman can get in on this too like Superman/Shazam: Return of Black Adam (which is honestly great). Though I highly doubt that as Zachery Levi and Dwayne Johnson are going through some beef due to this issue. But as it stands, they had to rewrite the script and salvage what they could.
Tumblr media
The plot now is there are three daughters of a god named Atlas, these gods were sealed away and because of the events of the last movie, the seal is broken and they are free. Now they're after the Marvel family deeming that mortals should not have powers of the gods. They try to take those powers away all while trying to get the gold apple to plant the tree of life back at their home to restore it to its former beauty. The villains here were more or less made for the movie and aren't really Captain Marvel villains, they fit more as Wonder Woman villains if I'm being honest. The villains aren't bad and I do like the actresses who portrayed them. The sisters provided three different sides/views such as Anthea (Rachael Zegler) being the good side of the sisters, Hespera (Helen Mirren) being the neutral side of the sisters, and Kalypso (Lucy Liu) being the evil side of the sisters. They all did a great job in their role, their powers are cool but I feel are underutilized from their full potential against the Marvel Family. Hespera controlling elements she should basically be the Avatar and use all the elements to greater degrees but is mostly used as like a power puncher, Kalypso has the power to whisper in your ear and make you do as she commands and even spread it like a plague but its only used in the first half of the movie and is pretty much forgotten about later on when she has her dragon to destroy everything. Anthea has the power of accessibility where she can pull a Doctor Strange and can warp the room and areas around which is honestly cool VFX. The fighting and VFX were not bad honestly, definitely better than what Marvel has been churning out lately. As I said, they did good and served their purpose, but I would have preferred Black Adam or even another Captain Marvel villain like say Chain Lightning, she would probably be better to add to the story than random gods.
Tumblr media
The main cast did a great job again like in the first one, Zachery Levi as Captain Marvel did great, I enjoy his humor and him as a boy in a grown mans body just like the rest of the cast being kids in adult bodies. I love the dialogue and humor with the Marvel family. I will say that there is a bit of development for Billy with having abandonment issues which makes him hold on too tight to everyone around him and Freddy especially gets sick and tired of it which causes some issues within the Marvel Family. Freddy was basically the B plot of this movie with him wanting to do his own thing whether it be as a hero or just his personal life in general but Billy is just reluctant to the idea of anyone in his family going off and doing their own thing. I wish these aspects of character development was more prevalent through out the film but it was sprinkled in here and there. at the end, Billy realizes that his family will always be there for him and this helps him realize that the wizard chose right with him. There is a cameo towards the end of a familiar hero and they'll be crucial towards the end after the final battle.

Post credit scenes are a bit jarring but reflects what plans they have for the Shazam franchise (if they can get any backing behind it now). There are two post credit scenes this movie has and both I think are meant to set up another Shazam! movie in the near future. Though after the mixed to somewhat negative reception of the Shazam! sequel, odds of there being another Shazam! movie is a bit slimmer than before. I honestly wouldn't mind another Shazam! movie but right now DC is just a complete mess with projects being cancelled out of nowhere, The Flash still going forward as planned despite the Ezra Miller controversies, and with Warner Bros just being a complete fiasco right now. Things are uncertain but hopefully things will be better from here on out or at least after The Flash movie.

Overall, the sequel wasn't as good as the original. I felt that Dwayne Johnson really threw this franchise under the bus and left them to pick up the pieces. As I said I like the Shazam! movie, I like Zachery Levi and I wanted to like this sequel but so many problems plagued this production. I wish they could have taken more time to make it better but I guess it is what it is. It's not terrible, just underwhelming compared tot he original. Hopefully DC/WB can get it together and churn out bangers in the future.
Rating this movie I'd give it:
6.5/10
Despite the problems it suffered in production, it is still a fun movie to watch and if you're looking for a fun movie with kids or family then this is definitely serviceable. I'm hoping The Flash and the upcoming Blue Beetle movie will be better but we'll see. That's all I have to say.
See ya!
