Ashlyn excitedly opened her front door. It was her birthday and EJ was taking her out to dinner before Maddox picked her up for a date.

She stepped into the dark living room and reached for the light.

"Surprise!" A chorus of voices shouted when she flicked on the light. All of her friends jumped out from various hiding places, effectively scaring the shit out of Ashlyn.

"You guys!!!" She ran up and hugged them all tightly. After they all separated, Maddox came to the front of the group and kissed Ashlyn's cheek.

"Happy birthday, Ash," she said with a smile.

Soon enough, the party was in full swing. Music was blasting, drinks were being poured, and everyone was having a great time.

As Ash sat down next to her cousin, Maddox jumped up and stood in the middle of the room. "Time for presents!" She shouted.

Everyone gathered around Ashlyn with their presents in their hands, handing them over to the birthday girl. A knitted hat from Gina, a necklace from Kourt, the cutest cow stuffed animal from Seb, and so many other things.

Finally, Maddox handed her a small bag. Ashlyn reached inside and pulled out a small DVD, she had no clue what it could be. Maddox took the DVD and put it into the TV.

Maddox grabbed the remote and turned to Ashlyn, "so you know that documentary crew that followed us around and we still don't know why? Well, I asked them for a favor." She pressed play and sat down, wrapping an arm around her girlfriend and whispering, "God I hope you like this."

A black screen pops up, followed by the words "Season 4 Edited." Before Ashlyn could ask, the video already started playing.

"Yeah, I may have had a crush on Ash over the summer, but she has a boyfriend," Maddox said in the interview on the TV. TV Ashlyn walked behind TV Maddox, instantly catching her attention. The Maddox on the TV stared after the girl for a moment before turning back to the crew, "I really hope she breaks up with her boyfriend."

The camera cuts to Maddox complimenting Ashlyn's goth look for a movie before going into another interview. "She looks... really good in goth," Maddox told the camera. "And I think my PA barking impressed her. I'd like to see Big Red do that."

The video continued, showing hidden clips of Ashlyn and Maddox pining for each other before opening night; their almost kiss on Halloween, all of the special moments they shared that the crew managed to capture.

The video ended with a short happy birthday message to Ashlyn, who was in tears as she watched the small movie.

"Did you like it?" Maddox asked cautiously.

Ashlyn turned to her, "I love you so much."

"Baby, baby, baby, ohhhhh!" Ashlyn laughed as Jet sang. At one point EJ broke out the karaoke, and all of the theater kids had been taking turns singing random songs.

Ashlyn watched in delight as Jet sang the end of the song. She was about to go up next, but Maddox tapped on her shoulder. "Hey, can we talk outside?" She asked.

Maddox took Ash's hand and led her to the porch. They could still hear the party inside, but it was much quieter.

"Happy birthday, Ashlyn," Maddox said when the door shut behind them. "I got you one last thing." She pulled a small envelope out of her pocket and handed it to her girlfriend.

"Maddie, you really didn't have to get me anything," Ashlyn started before Maddox prompted her to open it. Inside was a small card.

"Read it out loud," Maddox said excitedly.

Ashlyn rolled her eyes and smiled. "Ashlyn, thank you for being there for me through everything. I love you so much, and even if I'm terrified that I'm gonna mess us up, I'm not as scared when I'm with you. Happy birthday. Love, Gadget." Ashlyn instantly enveloped her girlfriend in a hug. "You're the best, I love you too."

Maddox smiled widely, "there's one more thing in there."

Ashlyn slowly reached into the envelope and pulled out to small slips of paper. "You didn't," she said as she looked at the two tickets for Wicked on Broadway.

"I did. Happy birthday, Ash."

"This was the best birthday ever, Maddie, thank you."

Last time I read the Madlyn Office AU uhm Maddox and Ashlyn are in a rocky situation that ended up Maddox telling Ashlyn that she was offered another job and Ashlyn remember what EJ had told her. I was just wondering what happened to them after that?

Ashlyn Bursts through the door to the office building. Ignoring the elevator, she sprints up the stairs, using the end of the railing to swing around and dart down the hallway.

Careful not to drop the wrapped package under her arm, she had to get there.

This has to work.

After she failed to respond to Maddox pouring her heart out, she'd tried to catch-up to her, but the Techie had already managed to make herself scarce.

She did run into Jet though. He was......less than receptive to her, at least at first. Apparently he wasn't about to let 'another rich white girl drag Maddie through hell before breaking her heart in the middle of an office event' ......which opened more questions, and made Ash feel even worse.

After an hour or so of frankly humiliating pleading, Jet did decide he believed her and offered to help. His help was a phone number for her to get something made for Maddox.

Specifically it was the number of their adoptive father Dewey. Which again added questions, she didn't even know they were adopted. Jet did warn her that she'd have a much harder time convincing Dewey, or Janine if she picked up, Maddox was their favorite.

Ash awkwardly tried to assure him that he was loved just the same, but he interrupted her and said it was obvious and he was fine with it. "A LOT of people in our lives have blatantly preferred me over her, and they weren't as nice about it, I can live with Dewey and Janine loving me just okay"

So, armed with a chance, Ashlyn went home. Later the next day, she called the number, and started a video chat with Maddox's adoptive parents. And clearly Maddie had called before, because they were initially less than thrilled to see her. After a long, long conversation that felt like taking a test she hadn't studied for, Janine finally agreed that they would help, Dewey grunting beside her.

And so here she was. Hoping she isn't too late. Quinn and Uncle Cash were in the office today to ask Maddox for her final verdict and in theory drive her to the main office, if she accepted.

Ashlyn ran into the Tech Support office, shamelessly shoving past her uncle and clumsily stopping herself with Maddie's corner desk.

"Wait!.....huff.....wait......oh my god, the stairs....."

Her sudden appearance has clearly startled the room, with loud exclamations of alarm. Maddox had a guarded look to her, but patiently waited for Ashlyn to catch her breath. Taking a final deep breath in, Ashlyn started her speech:

"Maddie I like you! I like you so so much! And I don't know why I couldn't say it before, but I can say it now, and I need you to know. I'm so sorry I ever made you think this wasn't serious for me, I've never felt this way about anyone before! I can't ask you not to go, because this is a great opportunity, but I have to ask that you at least take this with you." Ashlyn pushed the package into Maddie's hands.

Maddox stared at her for a moment before carefully peeling away the brown paper. Within the wrapping was a thin cross section to a pine tree, sanded and polished. Carved into the wood, "Ashlyn 🧡 Maddox" stood out.

A little cringe, maybe but Ashlyn is far past the point of pride in this endeavor anyway. Recognizing the handwriting and carving skills, Maddox's eyes snapped back up.

"Ash, this is..."

"You're parents scare the shit out of me. Also that's from your backyard, or theirs? The video call said it was coming from California."

The little grin that had started to form at the tree plate split as Maddie began to laugh. It was the most beautiful sound Ashlyn had ever heard. What she wouldn't give for a recording of that laugh, so that she might spend the rest of her life waking up to that sound.

"Ahem, as touching as this is, we kind of need an answer Maddox." And God, there have been dozens of times throughout her life that she wished Cash Caswell would just go mute, but maybe none with so much ferver as now.

Quinn for her part just looked thrilled with the amount of drama she's gotten to witness.

"I.....I'm so sorry sir, I really appreciate the opportunity, but I think I need to stay at the outlet office." Maddox said, never taking her eyes off of Ashlyn.

"Very well, it's a shame that a highschool relationship has taken precedence over your career, but--"

"actually Cash, we take pride in having the most state of the art system in the country, correct? I don't see any reason why Maddox could not perform her duties from the outlet office. If that is amenable to you?" Quinn spoke up finally, an amused and playful glare directed at Maddox, noticing that the teen had curled up under Ashlyn's arm, leaning into her side.

Ruffled, but too smart to pass up the opportunity, Cash agreed, but stated there would be a two month probationary period, after which Maddox would be transferred to the main office if her work showed any dip in quality.

And if Ashlyn got teased for the next two weeks about being extra with everything.....she could live with that.

in the time it took to re-stitch maddox's wound, somehow, lily had escaped from her bonds. maybe she had a knife hidden, maybe the ropes were too loose. either way, not many of them really care, at least not more than they cared about maddox surviving, and miss jenn and mazzara swore they'd take care of it with a fire in their eyes, and miss jenn had glanced at maddox's wound as she spoke.

EJ wanted to go with them, as did nini and jet and everybody else, but ashlyn unfortunately had to turn down their offers to accompany them; it'd be fastest if they had just one horse rather than have a whole herd with them. jet was the hardest to say no to, and he shouted at ashlyn, but maddox pulled him to the side, talked to him, and hugged him. neither of their eyes were dry after that, and he finally (begrudgingly) agreed to let her go.

they tried to put maddox in front on the saddle, but she couldn't not-slump over and nearly tip off the horse, so it was decided ashlyn would go in front with maddox leaning on ashlyn, and the rule was that maddox had to keep her hands tightly wound around ashlyn so she wouldn't fall off.

which ashlyn was happy with. more than happy with.

(as it turns out, as much as she likes holding the outlaw's waist, she likes being held too. she'll unpack why she's blushing so hard at travelling on horseback with her later.)

as they're travelling (quickly, but not too quickly), ashlyn speaks, making conversation which forces maddox to reply, so she focuses on that rather so she doesn't pass out.

as ashlyn is replying to a question from maddox about childhood stories, maddox interrupts her.

"hey, ash...?"

and oh. maddox saying that name, in that breathy voice—she'll unpack the warm feeling in her gut later on. really, she has too much to unpack later on. she should keep a larger mental suitcase for what to unpack.

"mhm?" she asks, and it's a high-pitched hum.

thankfully, maddox seems to take notice. "you're... you're good. kind." maddox remarks, and it takes all of ash's willpower not to beam at the compliment. "and i..."

there's an audible moment of hesitation. all sound seems to have stopped.

"if i don't make it—" she starts again, and ashlyn immediately has to protest.

"you will—"

"if i don't," maddox says, a little more forcefully. "if i... if i don't make it to this village or the next one, then... can you please look after jet? i—i just... i need to make sure that..." her voice breaks. "that he'll be alright without me."

(sorry if this isn't great, i'm not feeling my best lmao)

they get to the village. maddox has made ash promise things she never thought she would promise. she's told her jet's favorite foods and where the best place is to get them. ash remembers it all, even through all of the persistence that maddie will make it.

the village is back to how it usually was. people go about their day to day, with the saturday market in full-swing as maddie and ash made it in. some of the kids rushed over at the sight of ashlyn's return, cheering and calling her name proudly. she wants to say things and tell them about the adventure she's been on- but all that's running through her mind is maddox's name.

she takes the girl inside of the infirmary and finds the first doctor she can, telling her exactly what needed to be done. the doctor has a confused look painted over her face but begins to move them towards the one room they had free. as the doctor begins to do basic checks on maddox's wound, ash begins to finally relax.

"i told you it would be fine." ash tells her. sure, had she seen anyone else since getting there? no. but that didn't matter right now. nothing else mattered but right now.

maddox holds ash's hand and doesn't want to let it go. her grip isn't strong as it would've been days ago. its weaker. maddie is barely holding on anymore.

the doctor confirms she's about to start her work, and ashlyn doesn't dare stop her. the silence sits between all three in the room, and it seems they're all fine with it until the door opens- revealing cash caswell.

he holds a bright and welcoming smile for his niece with words spewing out about how much he missed her and how the town will never be the same without her. then he stops. he stares at maddox sat on the table, the wound, and then at ashlyn. "get her off the table. now."

the smile that was once on the mans face was gone. he was back to a look of business and determination. one that not many in the public saw. "she's injured. let her be-"

"now." he says it again, cutting ashlyn off from whatever she had to say in her defence. if ej was there, it would be a different scenario.

ashlyn lets go of maddox's hand and turns to fully face the man in front of her. maddie was getting this surgery. "cash. let her have the surgery. she could die-"

"someone like her doesn't deserve it." he spits back at her. it reminds ash of the conversation at the fire and again in the tent. oil and water. no. that's what cash thought. ash didn't need to think that.

"in that case, you can find yourself another sheriff." she says. maddox's ears perk up and she begins to slur something about ashlyn taking it back, but ash places her hand defensively over maddie's, which caused the girl to be too busy looking at it. what were those butterflies inside of her stomach? why was her cheeks feeling warm and going red all of a sudden?

"what?!" the man didn't know what he had expected, but it certainly wasn't this. what the fuck.

"i am not working for a mayor who cannot find the heart within him to respect those in need." she says, helping maddox off of the table slowly. "and that includes my uncle." ash says, glaring at cash.

What do you think about Maddox/Ashlyn? I have gotten the impression that Ashlyn is your favorite character in hsmtmts

Of course I love it!! I actually did ship Ashlyn and Gina a little bit in season 2 (I don't anymore, though), so Ashlyn has always been someone I've been getting wlw vibes from.

But, I am a little cautious about how they are handling it at the moment.

Ashlyn does have a boyfriend right now. Now, I don't ship Redlyn that much, but I am not against it either. I've always found them cute, but I haven't been super invested in them. Nonetheless, I don't want her to cheat on Red.

I also don't want her to just quickly break up with him either. I know Ashlyn probably will have a moment of questioning her sexuality, it seems like that's what they are leading to right now, and I do want her to talk to Red about it, so they can solve it together.

Now... Maddox. I see Maddox as someone who both just wants to pretend like this year's camp will be as great as the previous years she's been there, while I also think she might just project herself onto Ashlyn. Maybe she sees her as "oh, she's like me, I wanna be the person to help her like I wished someone helped me". However, she jumps to conclusions a bit too quickly. She and Ashlyn do have in common that they are a bit socially awkward. I do understand why Maddox acts like this, even though it comes off wrong.

But I don't want Maddox to simply be the queer character that just exists to help someone else realize they're queer. I want something more. I wanna know what happened between her and Madison. I want to know what is going on with her and Jet and I want her to have her own storyline that's not about her for some reason wanting to set up Val and Ashlyn.

Ok, I get it. Maddox sees herself and Madison in Ashlyn and Val, and she just wants to help. Though, again, it does come off a bit wrong. I also get Ashlyn's defensive "I have a boyfriend!!" - The way I see it right now, Ashlyn does start to question her sexuality, but she is at the stage of not really accepting it yet. She has her boyfriend, she has her mostly "perfect" life. Now someone comes and tells her they think she's in love with someone of the same gender? Remember just a few episodes ago when she learned she was a leo rising. Thinking she had it all figured out and then someone comes and tells her otherwise, yeah, that is hard.

This situation very much reminds me of another D+ show called "All the same... or not" (original title is "Tudo Igual SQN"). In that show, there is a girl named Trix. She seems to have the perfect life - she has her boyfriend, has the best grades and is trying to get into a film school. She also coincidentally has red hair. Then she meets Pri and suddenly, things starts changing for her. Throughout the season (there's only one season this far), she finds herself listening more to what Pri has to say rather than her boyfriend. But then her friend comments about how close she and Pri seem to be, and that offends Trix. She immediately goes "Hello, I have a boyfriend?". The thought of liking a girl, doing anything out of the ordinary... doing anything that would make her different, when all she wants is just to fit in... I think if you watch that show, you would see many similarities between Trix and Pri and Ashlyn and Maddox. (Though, if you do watch it, I need to warn you about the last episode. Something happens there that just got me staring at my screen with my jaw opened for like 5 minutes. It isn't Trix and Pri related, though)

Conclusion to this would be that, I would love for Ashlyn and Maddox to be a thing, but I do hope they handle it in a good way.

I JUST FINISHED EPISODE EIGHT AND AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Y'all I teared up a lot but no tears have been shed yet lol. That's really because it hasn't sunk in yet xD.

Also, that's a lie, I finished the episode hours ago lol. I have since looked at hsmtmts posts and tiktoks, read a fanfic, and rewatched several scenes (mainly in the finale) xd. I was too in shock but I need to start this lol

First of all, I just- that was the perfect finale. Plenty of the show (looking at you season 2 /lh), satisfying ends for the couples (barely on Jetney but you know we take what we can get lol), amazing music, and everyone's staying together :'). I can't express how much this show means to me <3. I'll have a separate post where I'm SUPER sentimental, but right now I can have some too :'). Anyway, I loved the episode so so SO much <3333.

Nini - we missed you :'). You were the beginning, and you had an end that makes me tear up every time. I'm sure she's off doing the best of things - and hey, she asked Ricky to give them all their cards :')). I'm so proud of her, and so happy for her <33. You're the best, Nini :')) ❤️❤️😭🥰. I love her so much <3.

Emmy! She slayed as Taylor :'DD. And I'm just so happy she gets to continue to learn from Miss Jenn <333. And start to be an older sister as well, not just a younger one :'). She's going to be a leader in the drama department <3. And like Gina said, she's going to take over the world :'DD. I love her 😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰.

Did Jet ever actually tell Kourtney xD. I don't know, but they seem to kinda have a Thing lol, so whatever <33 🥰. I'm proud of him either way :'D. And I'm so glad he's finally found a place where he's happy, where he has a family 😭😭😭❤️❤️🥰. He deserves it so much :'))). Also, he slayed as Chad :'DD! Anyway, yeah, I'm just really glad he's at East High now :')). And yeah, he could give Gina a run for money for intimidation x'D. I love him <3333.

BIG RED MIGHT HAVE A THING WITH ANTOINE???!?!!!?? HELLO?!?!!!? JUMPSCARE SHIP!!! BUT NOT IN A BAD WAY JUST T O T A L L Y WILD XDDD. Anyway, why was this man in curtain call lol??? I do not care, as he should be XDD. Also I'm glad he got to be the one to tell Seblos they deserved the trip - show there's not issues there :). Anyway! Still not over jow wild that Antoine reveal was xD. Mans isn't even French!! Anyway lol. Gina described Big Red perfectly - he loves people unconditionally :'). We've always seen that with Ricky, and it's just amazing <33. Like that scene with Ricky this episode (it demonstrates that but yes it as also amazing lol) 😭😭❤️🥰. That scene was so sweet :'DDD. LIKE THEY SAID I LOVE YOU TO EACH OTHER!!! I love them so much :')). Anyway, yeah, he was great <33. I love him 🥰🥰🥰❤️😭❤️❤️.

EJ GOT TO BE ON STAGE :'DDDD!!! WHOOOO 😭😭😭🥳🥳🥰❤️❤️❤️!!! I'm not okay :'D. He totally deserved that, and he did great :'D. Ayy he can have this next bit now!! He slayed playing Coach Bolton 🥰! :'DD Anyway, I'm so happy for him :'). Also Carlos calling him EJ with the pretty eyes was so correct actually xD. Unrelated lol but eh. ALSO THE FACT THAT EJ CARVED ASH AND MADDOX INTO THAT TREE TRUNK??!?!?? OH MY GOSH 😭😭❤️ XD. That is so iconic <3. And I loved his conversation with Miss Jenn - even if it hurt me to hear her tell him to call her Jenn 😭💔, it makes sense :'). He's an adult now <3. It's wild and it hurts me xd, but he is. Anyway, I think he gave some really great advice :')). AND AAAHHHHHHH Y'ALL OUR DREAMS CAME TRUE!!!! POSSIBLE EJ AS EAST HIGH DRAMA TEACHER REFERENCE!!! WHAT WE'VE ALL BEEN SAYING FOR YEARS :DDDD XDD!!! I love that for us LOL 🥰🥰🥰❤️. But seriously, I think he does at least become an assistant director in the future :'). And when Miss Jenn retires, he takes over <3333. I mean, it's even practically what Gina said about him x'd - he taught her about herself :'). I love him so much <333 😭❤️❤️❤️🥰.

Maddox being sad over Ashlyn is my personal death y'all 😭. Also the fact that they mutually confessed and then were just like "well, I guess the only option now is. . . to stay friends 😬😌😐👉👉" - you idiots xDD. And AAAHHHHHH MADISON SENDING THE BALLOONS FOR MADDOX TO GIVE TO ASHLYN 😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️!!! OH MY GOSH I'M SO NOT OKAY <3333. Also I'm glad her and Madison are on good terms :')). ALSO THE HAND KISS!!! OH MY GOSH 😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. I love them <3333. Anyway, Maddox is just. Amazing :'). I'm so glad she was here this season <3. I love her :'DD ❤️❤️🥰🥰.

AAAAHHHHHHHH OH MY GOSH ❤️😭😭😭❤️🥰. I'm not okay y'all <333. I love them so much :')). Also Ashlyn's reaction to Maddox leaving 😭😭😭💔❤️. I'm so glad she doesn't have to <3333 :')). I'm so happy for them :')) :'DD. Anyway :'). Ashlyn slayed playing Kelsi :'D! And what Gina said about her :'D - yeah :'). Ashlyn truly is the queen of changing her identity (I mean that in a good way lol), but also still being sure of her identity in between those times :')). I love her so much <333.

MR. MAZZARA AND MISS JENN ARE FINALLY TOGETHER :'DDDD!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥳🥳🥳🥳 WHOOOOOO!!!!! WHOOHOOO FINALLY :'DDDDD!!!!! My babeys 🥰🥰.

And about them separately lol, MR. MAZZARA GETS TO GO BACK TO NEW ZEALAND AND TRY AGAIN :'DDD!! I'm so happy for him :')). And while he slayed playing Coach Bolton, he slayed doing sound too :')). Also him being like "yeah I'm totally not doing so much right now" was great LOL. Honestly kind of a mood xD, though luckily that didn't happen to much to me on lights lol. Anyway, I'm just glad he was there supporting everyone and being amazing this episode :')). Always right there, helping them through it 😭😭❤️🥰. Also how he didn't HESITATE to rip up the letter lol xD. Iconic 😌. As always :'). I love him so much <3333.

MISS JENN'S STAYING!!!! WHOOOO :'DDD!!! She would've been amazing, but I'm so glad she's staying 😭❤️❤️. She's here for Emmy, and Jet and Maddox, and all of the Juniors who were OGs :')). And the second semester for the Seniors too!! She can keep being amazing for them <333 :'DD. Just like Gina said - she gets to be that mom for all of them, and teach them it's about creating something you love :') 😭😭😭❤️. And I just love that :'). She slayed playing Ms. Darbus :'DD. I love her so much <3333.

KOURTNEY AND MO!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH OH MY GOSH THE COMBO I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED!!!! That talk was EXACTLY what Kourtney needed 😭😭😭❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰. Also AAHHHH Kourtney's talk with Jet :'DDD. He doesn't need it, but I'm glad he got it <333. Also, again, his scene with Big Red was amazing <333. Besties since the beginning :')). And continuing on <33. GINA'S FILMING THE MOVIE IN SALT LAKE!!!!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :'DDDD!!! I'M SO GLAD :'DDD 🥰🥰🥰😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️!! ALSO OVOEANOCMPW THE HAT????!!?! OH MY GOSH GIRL 😭😭❤️ XD. She slayed playing Gabriella 🥰🥰🥰. And oh my gosh, her SPEECHES 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️💔💔💔💔🥰🥰. I've already talked about what she said to everyone, but they were just all so so SO amazing. And I've heard some of that stuff said like that at senior speeches before, so it's definitely accurate xdd. But seriously, it was so emotional 😭😭. I know the cast was obviously SUPER emotional as well xd, but nonetheless, the acting was amazing <333. Superb :')). Gina has come so far, and learned so much, and I am just so, so proud of her, and happy for her <333. And I'm so glad she's staying at East High :'DDD. AND getting to do the movie still :')!! And again, the love song was BEAUTIFUL 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️🥰. And she slayed at that press conference lol. I love her so much <333.

SEB'S DAD KNEW THE WHOLE TIME SLFKFHDKGS!!!! That's so amazing lol <333. Amazing as in it's funny and it's a good thing xD. But seriously that was so funny lol. I am disappointed we didn't get Seb on stage, like acting lol, but I'm glad he was there for curtain call :'DDD 🥰. Even if him and Big Red had no reason this-show-wise to be up there XDD. I'm just happy that he was :')). Also his run up to Carlos after talking about his dad and holding him was so cute 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️🥰 stop I'm not okay <333. And AAAHHHHHH they get to go on their trip 🥰🥰. And again, I loved that their wasn't any animosity towards Big Red :'). But seriously that moment was so cute 😭❤️❤️. And honestly I loved what Gina said about him, especially after the cheating plot this season. Because he really is an angel, he is like a dog in human form lol xD, and he still sees the world pretty pure :')) 🥰. And I just think it shows that even though he made mistakes, he still is and does those things. He's still Seb <3333 😭❤️❤️🥰. And I think that was really needed for all of us :')). Also he went OFF in the limo LOL xD. He really said "step aside" with that belt xD. He slayed, so hard <333 🥰🥰. I love him so much <3333 🥰🥰❤️❤️.

CARLOS HAPPY AGAIN IS MY REWARD FOR THE FIRST SIX EPISODES!!!! XDD!! It keeps randomly hitting me that this is the Last Season, that although luckily we got happy Seblos at the end this is genuinely the last we're gonna see of them and I just- oh gosh that hurts 😭😭😭❤️. But again, their moment after the show (and the ones during curtain call 😭!!!) was SO CUTE AND AMAZING 😭😭😭❤️. Carlos slayed playing Ryan :'DD 🥰🥰🥰❤️. And he really is so funny x'DDD. It also makes me so happy that Gina talked about being co-choreographers with him :')) - something that started way back in season 2, but honestly season 1 unofficially <333. They've always had dance as a connection, and I'm just so happy they have that in each other :')). And I believe something similar to "we just kept dancing" was said at the Quinceñero, which :')))) 😭😭😭😭❤️🥰❤️❤️❤️. That kills me <3. Their friendship just means so much to me :')) :'D <333. Anyway :')). I love how he was kinda the one to set Miss Jenn and Benjamin (he deserves for me to call him by his first name at least once LOL xD) up xDD :'D <33. Like, he was the one who brought up the plane tickets and stuff :')). I mean, they were already pretty close to becoming a thing, but he showed us the audience the official moment of it lol, so I'm grateful for that xD. But that it was him, the one who was by Miss Jenn's side from day one :'), and even used to be enemies with Mr. Mazzara? Was the reason, or at least was half the subject of that scene lol, we met Mr. Mazzara :'DD? Perfect <333. Full circle :')). But yeah <3. I love him so much :'DD <33 ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰.

And a bit of specifically Seblos :'D. After everything they've been through this season, I'm so glad we got two episodes of them being adorable and mostly happy 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️🥰. I mean, we had to deal with the Seb's dad stuff, but it was pretty good (like easy wise ish I guess? Like not too bad) and they were adorable :'D. AND THEY GET TO GO ON THEIR TRIP 🥰🥰🥰!!! I'm so excited for them :'D. Especially after they lived it LOL. Anyway, their moments during curtain call were amazing <333. And LOL SLFKGHJS their kiss going viral xDD. As it should 😌😌. But seriously, it was SO GOOD, and it reminded me of the Beauty and The Beast announcement, as well as You Are The Music In Me from after Season 2 :'))). I just love this cast so freaking much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭😭💔💔🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.

The music this episode was P H E N O M E N A L!!!!! It was all SO amazing and all so emotional too 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️. The cast are all such wonderful singers and the songs are all so well put together and beautifully written :')). I am so grateful for all of the amazing music of this show <3333. Don't even talk to me about any of the songs this episode, I'm still not okay over them :')). Special shout out to For Good for being most likely from the cast :')). This episode was so amazing. It was, quite possibly, the perfect finale <333. Obviously, I have things I wish happened, in this episode and in the season and show as a whole. But it told the story. And it told it well :')). It gave these characters an immensely satisfying ending, and, more importantly in this case? A happy one :'). They deserved that <333. And we deserved to be shown that we can. Especially theatre kids <33 ❤️. And still, amongst all these emotions, they still managed to make this episode HILARIOUS :'DDD. quick as a flash, maddox draws her gun, and ashlyn does too. gina raises her fists, and ej takes the gun from nini's hands (probably best not to give the girl with a concussion a gun).

"madison." maddox breathes. ashlyn glances at her, confused, but maddox can barely take in any oxygen.

madison somehow brightens, and her looking so happy while carlos is terrified at her gunpoint makes maddox sick to her stomach. "it's nice to hear you say my name. been a while, hasn't it?"

"let him go." maddox bares her teeth. "or i'll blow your brain to bits."

madison sighs. "you know, we could just solve this without violence, you know..."

"you have a gun at his head!" EJ yells, and carlos flinches, eyes meeting maddox's. pleasepleaseplease help, please help. pleaseplease please—

maddox might just throw up.

madison completely ignores EJ, and steps forwards. "gadget—"

"do NOT call me that!" maddox shouts shrilly, and it cuts the air like a knife. ashlyn glances her again, subtly stepping forwards. "you lost that privilege when you—you—"

"you know that was a mistake."

"shut up," nini groans, holding her head from the side but still looking terrified. "you've always been a whiny bitch, madison."

madison scowls, and her finger twitches on the trigger. maddox's breath hitches and carlos is trembling from head to toe. out of panic, maddox lowers her gun, which makes madison relax her grip slightly.

maddox breathes out. "i could've forgiven you for... before." she says grudgingly, and glares. "but you ruined that the second you came in here with carlos."

madison's expression breaks for just a second, like she'd really thought maddox could still like her even when she has maddox's best friend at gunpoint, then she hardens again.

"it's just a precaution. you, maddie—you have to come with me. the rest can stay—" she gives a contemptuous look. "but you and carlos will switch places."

despite his visible fear, carlos shouts, "maddie, DON'T—" and sucks in a shuddering breath when madison pushes the gun to his skull.

maddox scowls. "in exchange for what?"

a twisted, demented smile plays around madison's mouth, like she knows she's caught maddox hook, line and sinker with her next few words.

"in exchange for your brother, of course."

(i didn't wanna go too far bc i know you have plans ASJJHSJHSJH ... but also make ash the one to kill madison bc then she can have a criss abt her first kill. bonus points if she does it saving maddox)

it was starting make sense to maddox now. lily wanted to get rid of the cali hunters so of course she would go to madison. her ex girlfriend. the back stabbing bitch that she was. of course lily would go to her.

maddox isn't even giving it a second chance of thought, her gun away in its holster before she steps forward. madison has this cocky smirk on her face. not one like maddox's smirk. maddox's was filled with silliness, mixed with mischievousness. that's why ashlyn liked it.

but madison's smirk was filled with evilness and hatred. anger for reasons that no one could fully understand outside of her. she just hated and hated, all because she could. that's why ashlyn hated it.

she watched as the outlaw that she often found flirting with giving it all up, right there and then for her brother. no. there had to be another way. she hadn't just reconciled with maddox to then lose her. they had a plan, didn't they?

ashlyn barely even goes through it all in her mind. as madison pushes carlos out of the way, she goes to grab maddox. the grab is rough and uncalled for in ashlyn's mind. she was already heading in her direction, why did she need to act the way she was?

a laugh escapes the taller girl as her grip tightened around maddox's arm and body. "did you really think it was that easy? like i was just gonna let jet roam around freely?" evil. it was an evil laugh. maddox felt a part of her heart shatter for what felt like the millionth time by the same hands that were so bloody- madison's.

"what- no that wasn't the deal." ej stammered over his words as he went to stand. nini's hand goes towards her holster, but madison aims the gun directly at maddox's head the moment she sees it. "the deal was-"

"the deal was bullshit, rocketman." madison puts it simply. "and now, maddox here, her brother and all her pretty other hunters are gonna die." maddie struggles and attempts to move out of madison's grip, but it was no use. "how about that huh? told you i would be back."

"you're a psychopath." maddox mutters to her, but madison seems more flattered than disrespected by the words.

"any more compliments for me, darling?" ash's blood boils at the sight of madison's arms around maddox. maddox struggling, the thought of maddox dying.

ash doesn't want to lose maddox. she's not thinking of it that way in her mind- to her its just humanity, you meet a person who's funny, nice, pretty and everything you can ever possibly imagine- and you don't want to then see her die. simple. all just a part of humanity. but with that seems to come a cost. one ashlyn was willing to pay. ash reaches for the revolver in her holster when madison is too busy with maddox and doesn't get even close to hesitates.

the gun blares off. eyes and heads turn. people flinch. a body falls.

everyone else is still, as the body of madison sits on the floor, blood pouring out of her abdomen. maddox stares as it just pours and pours, watching as the girl on the floor coughs up red liquid slowly. she laughs at her own situation, as if it was all some kind of joke, and that her life wasn't ending right there and then.

ashlyn stares right ahead, her breathing getting heavier ever so slightly as reality starts to settle in. had she just killed madison?

ej reaches over, taking the gun out of her hands, reassuring words being said to his cousin, but none of it was registering. she had had training of course, but they were all blanks or dummies. not a real human being. madison could die and it would be ashlyn's fault. the sheriff's fault.

madison laughs like its all the best joke ever known to mankind. "you're so fucked." she tells maddox above her. "right now, they probably have them all tied up already. dragging them across the sand dunes to their camp. you won't see-" but then she wasn't talking. another fire of a gun from maddox as she aimed the gun at the floor. a second bullet hole in madison, this time her skull.

everyone stares, but no one speaks. madison was dead.

I JUST FINISHED EPISODE SEVEN AND AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Well technically I finished it like 20 minutes ago (11 pm ish) and was in such shock that I rewatches some scenes several times and then looked at Tumblr for a few minutes lol. There were also a few minutes total of zoning out in shock and just going o.o in there lol. Anyway!

I am really glad she apologized though :') - I understood where she was coming from, and you have every right to break up with someone for any reason, but I always felt like she was being a little hard on EJ last season. So seeing them have a mutual apology and understanding was really nice :')). And discuss Ricky lol? EJ is the best <3. Also I swear if EJ ends up as Coach Bolton xD. Lowkey, I'd prefer Seb or Big Red since they're still in high school, but EJ alluded to being on the stage again and he fits the role more 👀. Hm, interesting :). ALSO LAST EPISODE AS WEL AS THIS EPISODE, WE GOT A "HONEY" AGAIN!!! THE RETURN OF HONEY Y'ALL 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰!! AS WE D E S E R V E!!! Anyway xd. Y'all I am living my best life lol, this is exactly what I wanted xD. Cute after the angst, lol xDD 🥰❤️❤️. How they managed to fit BOTH a cheating recovery storyline (with several twists) and a coming out storyline I have no idea but XDD. Lovely lol. I needed a bit of fluff and a couple kisses and that's what I got so no complaints here 😌😌 XDD 🥰🥰❤️. My babeys <33. Anyway!!! Like I said I loved how you could really see their growth with this :')). Like Carlos could tell Seb was trying not to lie and actually asked him about it, and Seb came back later to talk :'DD. Though "are we using words now, honey?" BRUTAL man XDD dang Carlos lol. But seriously I'm really proud of them both :')) <33. Also thank goodness there were some really funny moments throughout their storyline 😭❤️. We needed it xD. Listen I'm just glad we get close to normal Seblos for while :'). Because if we didn't get anything significant of them after getting back together I would've needed another season so I could see them be happy LOL. Anyway xD 😭❤️❤️🥰. In all seriousness I did really like their storyline this episode <333 :') ❤️❤️😭🥰. And describing it as an Afterschool Coming Out Special from the 1980s was hilarious XDDD. But let's go back to what I mentioned at the beginning of this post because

I LITERALLY MESSAGED MY SIBLING WHEN SEB SAID HIS DAD DIDN'T KNOW LIKE "he's gonna kiss Carlos in front of him/everyone isn't he lol" AND OH MY GOSH I WAS R I G H T!!!! I DON'T KNOW IFI SPECIFIED ON STAGE BUT IT WAS ONE OF MY GUESSES!! I was also like NOO they wouldn't BUT THEY DID :'DDDD!!!! OH MY GOSH I LOVED THAT SO MUCH 😭😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰. Also the way the whole audience was like 👁️👄👁️ WELL ALRIGHT :DDD!! XDDD!! Plus a Rina kiss right after that so the audience must just be going with it xD. Maybe Seb's playing the young version of the nameless Scott Hoying character lol and we just connected it to HSM4 XDD. Oh and "THIS MEANS WE'RE A THING" S T O P P P P HE IS THE MOST ADORABLE EVER 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰. Also how his dad immediately turned to (presumably) his mom to talk to her XDD. But he was smiling next so I think we're good :')). Maybe we'll see a talk next episode or a meeting but who knows <3333. I'm happy either way 🥰🥰.

And y'all the MUSIC THIS EPISODE!!! ALL THE SONGS WERE SO GOOD :DDDD!!! Y'all know I love Now or Never xD but SERIOUSLY they were all amazing :DDD. And can we talk about the set and blocking/choreography with it as well??? I don't know how they had time for all that but it's a SLAY!!! Though I suppose they did show us with the dancing in episode 2 that they learn quickly lol xD. Anyway 🥰! Night of Nights was amazing (plus Seblos kiss at the end of the song 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️ perfect timing by the way Seb <333 xD)!! I Want It All was SUCH A SLAY!!! And like I said, I adore Now or Never xD. Mr. Mazzara just WORKED in it too, he was perfect :D!! Anyway, yeah, it was all wonderful 🥰🥰🥰❤️.

Y'all I loved this episode so freaking much :')). I'm scared for the next one, and DEFINITELY not at all read, especially considering it's the finale 😭😭, but I am SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!!
