Amrin Ellis [aka M0CK1NGJAY] is an autistic woman. She doesn’t formally disclose it to Kurt Hansen when they are just medic/patient (because there is such a boundary and air of professionalism there)... She will never formally disclose it to anyone other than a partner or a close friend she trusts (so in time she will tell Kurt and then in time her other partner - @another-corpo-rat 's dear Victoria Crane)

She is always masking - 100 and 10 percent of the time she masks - she wants to apper "normal" and "like a functional member of society" - and idk just the idea of - it’s early days for Kurt and Amrin- they are still learning to trust each other. Kurt is getting his arms retuned or maybe the back of his neck -

I just imagine a scenario - Amrin had *awful* day already with very rude new clients at her ripper doc office and she’s strung out. I imagine - its after hours and Kurt has come for his monthly arm re tune - and something (even if it’s something as small as her dropping a tray of implements or knocking her coffee off of her work bench) it just pushes over the edge and the mask slips and breaks like a china vase. Luckily she's all done working on Kurt because she just loses her composure

she is just angry crying - fighting so very to regain the broken composure... the panic made all the worse by Kurt being in the room - She thinks Kurt can’t see her like this - but the tears don’t stop and her breathing is un steady and her nose is starting to run and she doesn’t know where to put her hands and they just bawl into these tight fists at her sides as she is facing away from Kurt.

She thinks it is un professional- it’s not right - he doesn’t know, and he must not know that she's different- - she is afraid he will treat her like a child and belittle her. It’s what others did with her in the past - But the colonel of dog town doesn't judge her. He's more trying to pice together what's wrong- in the months they have known each other - nothing this small usually gets her so upset. Kurt is patient and quietly asks his medic if she would like to be alone.

In which- Amrin just nods - excusing herself very abruptly to try and calm herself down. It takes longer than she would like too - but once shes calmer - once her eyes are dry and she's able to breathe - she joins Kurt outside her shop. The night has grown old. The little nook her shop is in lit up by faded neon lights.

She thanks Kurt very quietly for not being weird about what he'd just seen [ thanking him in between taking a drag of her e-ciggarete - the tank of the cigarette decopaged with old bollywood magazine clippings]. Kurt just nods as he takes a drag of his own cigarette [hand rolled] - the two share a quiet moment in this little corner of dog town - before they part ways.

Yeah, sure, gonna do this too. Here’s a list of some of my ships and also just some dynamics I’m really fond of:

Gonna start with my explicit romantic ships, ranging from OTP (my personal description of an OTP is a pair I cannot imagine in any other relationship) to ships I’m just very fond of.

ContraHero (duh, my OTP of all time)

ParaCold (smth of a secondary OTP, I’d say, since I also can’t imagine them in any other relationship lmao [at least, long-term])

Foreign Body (Quiet/Stranger) (I can’t imagine the heart not being Stranger, tbh, and also, smth about the both of them having a ‘monstruous’ form aksmdjddj)

Skeptunist (it’d be a slooooooww and LOOOONNNG burn, but I think the progress would be so interesting and the eventual relationship so weirdly sweet)

Ghost Lily (Spectre/Witch) (reaching OTP to me, ngl, as I can’t bring myself to be invested in other relationships involving them lmao)

Sweethearts (Smitten/Damsel) (have no problems imagining them with others, but this is still my primary ship for them)

Eternal Challenge (Stubborn/Asversary) (same situation as above)

Aaannnnd that’s it for explicit romantic pairs I think, I’m. actually a pretty picky shipper akmaksmdjkdmd

Now let’s move to what I call my OTBesties. When you ship them, but in a ‘they’re besties!!!’ way :D

Those are the ones that actively takes up more brain space, and ones which I most rotate around my head. Here’s some general dynamics I like exploring:

North Star (Cold/Oppy): their toxic yaoi wouldn’t last a year and be horrible for the both of them (mainly Oppy), and I’m all here for it.

Smitten and Skeptic, while not in OTBesties tier for me, is also a friendship I’m very fond of. I think they’d have coffee in the morning together.

Nightmare’s possible dynamic with anyone would be so interesting to explore, but especially with Tower– just. imagine the chaos

Speaking of– also Tower’s dynamic with Razor. Put her in the same room with some of the most relentless and violent vessels, I wanna see what happens

Wraith and Cheated would be an interesting dynamic when taken out from their chapter’s context tbh– Wraith is resentful because of how she’s been treated and only resorted to those drastic actions because that’s what you left her with. I think Cheated would sympathize with that and realize the hand he played (if you get him in her chapter) to get her like this.

Oppy and Hunted feel like they’d have a weirdly close and strong bond. Not OTBesties or explicitly romantic, but a secret fourth thing

Oppy and Contra have beef at first sight to me. They either completely ignore each other, or swear to make the other day’s worse, whatever they feel like atm

Also– since me and the folks in the discord started headcanon that while alive, Narrator could’ve been groomed by a cult and that’s why he has such a deep fear of death, and think eternal bliss is the best alternative for that– I’d like to see more of his dynamic with Broken. In a what-if scenario where they both got over enough of their bagage to have an actual conversation together, I think they’d have a lot to talk about.

Also, shout-out to my Happily Single Tokens, aka, characters I hc as non-partnering/not interested in romance/‘just not in the mood for it, dude’:

Cheated, Broken, Thorn (aro hc for her caught my the throat and won’t let go, I’m sorry Modeus), Prisoner, Narrator (AroAce and romance-repulsed king, tbh), and Hunted

What’re your favorite kh ships?

If I'm being honest... I really only true ship SoKai these days (my forever OTP). Mainly because I feel like that's the only one I can really ever see actually being canon (well, aside from Yozora and Nameless Star, and I also ship them: a lot of that for Versus XIII reasons. My heart won't let go). And, I mean, not that a ship needs to be canon for me to ship them. Not at all. But I'll admit that I've grown out of some of the KH ships a wee bit, as I've found more adult ones in other fandoms to get invested one.

That being said, the KH ships that I do still care about are:

Terqua (though it seem these days the kids call it Terrqua. Or Terraqua?)

VenAqua slightly, but I'd always choose Terra and Aqua over it (but one thing about the Wayfinder Trio for me, if I'm being truthful, is that I prefer the three of them as friends before any romance with any of them. Part of me even really thinks all three of them are truly just meant to be friends.)

A lot of people ship Ven and Strelitzia for some reason. And I doubt it'll ever happen, tbh. Who knows if they'll ever even really get a chance to meet and be friends. But I do get why they think it'd be cute.

And while I don't know if I truly ship them anymore, a part of me will always have a soft spot for Ventus and Naminé. Because for some reason, I really used to ship this crack pairing, back in the day.

I also don't really know if I ship them... but despite what I said above, I do get the feeling that Nomura might be doing something with Lauriam/Marluxia and Elrena/Larxene.

#i used to LOVE vanaqua and vannami. and some of my heart probably always will for that reason (mainly the former). but for the most part i #think i'm over it #i also used to ship ephemer and ava a tiny bit. but i'd pick gulava any day #i also used to get into olette pairings. but tbh. i just can't really be bothered anymore #i also used to somewhat ship ira and invi because of that comment in back cover about them having to see each other less now so the others #wouldn't get the wrong idea (because taken out of context it sounds like they're dating). or aced and invi because they reminded me (and #everyone) of terra and aqua. but i was never really serious about those to begin with and have let them go. -shrugs-#really. at the end of the day. it's sokai. forever and always: sokai #asked and answered #and really the main ones for me are sokai rokushi namiku rokunami and terqua #but mostly sokai -i say. sounding like a broken record-#and while we're mentioning everything (because somehow that's what this post turned into) i used to be big on larxel (like khii days)#but not for many--MANY--years #wait. i do like gulava a lot too. and rikai. because riku and kairi--in whatever form they're in--don't get enough love #there's also a tiny bit of me that ot3s eraqusxehanortvor. xehaqus is the otp and they're perfect together: i know and agree with this #and yet they have an interesting dynamic with vor. i feel like before dark road started they were the SLIGHTEST bit of a trio. not truly #because xehanort and eraqus still spent way more time together but it was there a little bit #and it's interesting to me that eraqus. of all people. gets annoyed at vor snooping on them some at the beginning of dark road #before the game came out if you told me something like that would have happened i would have guessed it was xehanort. but nah. it's eraqus #and xehanort moreso telling him to chill and letting vor tag along (and the eraqus thing wasn't really serious. and more in good fun #because he DOES care about her). and then they're both DEVASTATED when she dies. and vor really cared about them #also a slight ot3 with xehanorteraqusurd because despite what i just said about vor it's URD they spend the most time with in dark road and #i like their dynamic with her too. -shrugs-#vanikai a smidge back in the day

Summary: Ominis tries to be happy for Sebastian and their new friend. Really he's happy that his two favorite people have starting seeing each other.

"Your willingness to use powerful spells is admirable. You're much more powerful than you ever let on."

"Sebastian, please, you can stop with all the flattery." She laughed, trying to fight the rising blush on her cheeks. She casted another spell at the practice dummy. "I've already promised you that I'll take you on my next outing to fight the poachers instead of Natty. You have already gotten what you want!"

The boy in question mocked offense. "What? I can't give the most powerful witch our age a simple compliment?" She rolled her eyes playfully, pretending to be annoyed. Sebastian was unrelenting. "I bet you could even give Professor Hecat a run for her money."

Ominis's hand trembled on his wand, unable to cast the new spell they've been practicing. His stomach couldn't help but churn in disgust as his friends continue to tease each other. Even in the vast space of the Undercroft, it felt too stifling whenever Sebastian charmed their mutual friend.

His wand showed him the hazy rough outlines of the other two. Sebastian's arm practically draped around her. Ever since the start of their 6th year, the trio had been spending more and more time together in the Undercroft. Sebastian and the Hufflepuff frequently snuck out of the castle at all hours of the day, finding adventure elsewhere.

Ominis tried not to let it bother him, how close they were getting. They had invited him along, of course, time and time again on all of their adventures. Ominis had no idea why they thought that he would like to trail along after them. Be a bystander to the newfound romance that the other two were so clearly keeping a secret from him? Hard pass, thank you very much.

"Your spellwork is exception." Sebastian continued, watching her land a particularly nasty hit on the dummy. "You'll have to teach me some of the tricks you've picked up."

Ominis could feel the palpable embarrassment emitting from her. She tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ears. "Well, I did take a leaf out of your book, Sebastian. I picked up this jinx from one of the books I 'borrowed' from the restricted section."

Sebastian laughed. "Getting into places you're not supposed to be? A woman after my own heart."

Ominis swallowed thickly. It felt like it was only yesterday that Sebastian returned after his first night sneaking into the restricted section with the new student.

Sebastian groaned, flopping face first into his bed, exhausted from a night of crouching around the library away from the searching eyes of Madam Scribner.

"Did you have fun, Sebastian?" Ominis drawled from his on bed, having been rudely woken back up by Sebastian's return.

To Ominis's shock, Sebastian sighed dreamingly.

"Merlin's beard, Ominis. She's exceptional."

Something ugly festered inside Ominis. He wanted to be done with this conversation, to go back to bed and wake up to a reality where he could still pretend he had a chance of being with Sebastian. "I'm afraid I don't know what you're referring to."

Sebastian rolled onto his back, looking up at the top of his canopy bed, as if he was trying to picture her face. "The new girl. On her very first duel, she knocks me flat on my bum." He scoffed. "Said it was good practice. What I won't give to duel her again. Makes getting detention for her entirely worth it."

Unable to stomach any more of Sebastian's words, Ominis fluffed his pillow before turning away from the other boy.

"Ominis, she's beautiful. Her lips, her eyes, her hair. Merlin's beard, Ominis, she could be part Veela for all I know. The second she walks into any room, it's like everything else fades away." Sebastian squeezed his pillow close to his chest as he faced the other boy. "Ominis the things she can do with a wand. The way she took down that troll…" Sebastian sighed, lost in his own thoughts.

Ominis was glad that his back was facing Sebastian. He was afraid that his expressions would betray his inner anguish. "Fighting a troll for you on her first day of Hogwarts?" Ominis's nose wrinkled. He was painfully reminded of all the other giggling girls who threw themselves at Sebastian's feet. "There is a such a thing as trying too hard."

Sebastian's smile dipped downward. "No, Ominis, the fight was almost easy. That's how brilliant she is."

Ominis had always known that the crush he harbored on the other Slytherin boy was doomed from the very start. Sebastian's silver tongue had the entire female population of Hogwarts (and some of the wizards as well) completely under his spell. Why, with enough effort, Sebastian could certainly find a witch he liked enough to settle down with.

It seemed like, Sebastian already had.

Tears burning his eyes, Ominis pulled the covers over his head, trying to drown out Sebastian's stream of consciousness as he continued to heap praises on the new student.

"Ominis?" She shook his arm gently. "Ominis, are you with us?"

Ominis returned to the present. Honeysuckle, rosewater, and ivy. Her perfume was a familiar comforting presence. His tight knuckles relaxed on his wand. His eyes felt too hot, and he hoped he hadn't teared up in front of them. He could feel the other two exchange concerned looks. She reached over. Her thumb rubbed soothing circles on Ominis's biceps. Even under all his layers of fabric, he could feel goosebumps starting to form.

He withdrew from her hot touch.

His parents had always told Ominis that love at first sight (or lack of sight) was a fairy tale fantasy left for those of lesser blood or muggles. So, Ominis was entirely unprepared for it when he confronted the Hufflepuff sneaking out of the Undercroft for the first time.

He heard the telltale mechanical whirls of the clocktower that hid the Undercroft. He heard distinct footsteps, light, with a high heel to them.

It was just as he had feared. It wasn't Sebastian. The magical aura that surrounded this next person didn't feel quite like Sebastian's. It was foreign, ancient and old. It was the newest addition to the Hogwarts student body. The insufferable show off who somehow seduced her way into winning a duel against Sebastian.

Ominis couldn't tell what he was more angry at: her existence or Sebastian who had betrayed his trust by telling a practical stranger the secrets behind the undercroft. It was Ominis's hiding place, his secret to give. It was special, a place where Sebastian and Ominis could be together, alone. Where Ominis could pretend that he had escaped from the cruel reality of their lives.

He turned that infamous Gaunt anger onto the new girl. She was a Hufflepuff, like all of her brethren, Ominis was sure she would wilt under his venomous tongue. It wasn't the first time Ominis sent a girl crying back to her dorm.

"Did you just come from the Undercroft?" He snarled. "How did you get in here?"

Calmly, the new student answered. "Actually, Sebastian brought me there. But he made it perfectly clear to keep quiet about it." She had a soft, soothing melodic voice.

Ominis scoffed, ignoring the way his heart skipped a beat at the sound of her voice. Typical Hufflepuff, soft-spoken, meek, quick to squeal and rat out their friends the second their arm got twisted.

"You breathe a word about this place to anyone and not even your precious Professor Fig will be able to help you."

He could tell that mentioning Professor Fig had struck a nerve. The quiescent unnamable magic swirling around her grew sharp, its aura almost suffocating Ominis. She took a firm step forward towards him, her heels echoing loudly against the marble tiles. Her voice grew louder, firmer. "You needn't threaten me, Gaunt. But mention Professor Fig again, and even your family name won't be able to shield you from me."

She took another step forward. Ominis took a hesitant step back. He didn't expect the badger to have claws. "I was trying to defend Sebastian. He was clear that this was a secret place, and I was to tell no one." Ominis was startled by her closeness. He could smell her perfume, flowery. Honeysuckle, rosewater, and ivy. She took another step forward. "Sebastian's a good friend. He cares very deeply for you."

Ominis's lips curled. As if she knew anything about Sebastian. About what Sebastian's wants and needs were. He held his ground. "I don't need you to tell me about my oldest friend, thank you very much. Sebastian gets himself in enough trouble. He doesn't need your help."

To Ominis's surprise, her shoulders relaxed a bit. Her arms uncrossed in understanding. "You care for Sebastian. You worry over him." Ominis's throat felt dry. Was she trying to insinuate something? "You needn't be concerned, Ominis. I can see you're scared." Ominis was about to deny her accusations but found that he couldn't breathe. "I am not trying to come in between you or Sebastian. Your…bond is sacred." Was he that obvious? "I'm not trying to steal anyone's…friend away from them."

For once in Ominis's life, he was speechless. It was rare for him to find someone who could match his venomous tongue and cruel words.

"I'm not sure what you're implying." Ominis lied. "You forget yourself, new girl."

"Ominis! Ominis!" Sebastian practically shouted in his ear.

Ominis jumped. Too lost in thought, he hadn't realized that he had been daydreaming again. They were still in the Undercroft, practice dummies now completely forgotten. Her soft hands were still on his arm, trying to comfort him. Sebastian, on his right, hovering a tad closer than a concerned friend normally should.

His throat felt dry. He wasn't comfortable being the center of their undivided attention. He needed air.

"You two keep practicing your hexes." Ominis muttered, pulling his arm away from her and turning away from Sebastian. "I need to lie down for a bit."

Ominis wasn't able to see the way Sebastian's eyes met the Hufflepuff's, a silent conversation held with just eyes alone. "Is everything alright?" Sebastian asked. "Ominis, you can confide in us, if you need."

Ominis snorted as he threw his satchel over his shoulder. Like he could ever reveal his true feelings to the happy couple.

He avoided the Hufflepuff and her Slytherin for a better part of two weeks. A difficult task given how persistent the other two were.

"Ominis! There you are." Sebastian purred, his voice dipping down an octave. "You've been rather difficult to pin down lately."

Ominis didn't even pause. If anything, he walked faster down the hallway to his next class. "I'm sorry, Sebastian. Far too busy with this extra essay Professor Sharp assigned me. I'll see you at dinner."

His partner in crime appeared around the corner, as if she apparated to Sebastian's side. "A-Ah, hello, Ominis!" She nervously greeted. "Your hair looks rather nice today! Looks kind of like the portrait of the bloke we're learning in History of Magic."

Ominis did finally pause in his stride. "Uric…the…Oddball? I look like a lunatic who wears a jellyfish on his head?"

Her shoulders fell. Maybe she should have paid more attention in class. She hadn't actually thought that one through too much.

Without another word, Ominis swept away around the corner, onto his next class.

Now properly alone, Sebastian groaned. "Merlin's beard, sweetheart, what was that? Were you trying to woo him or get him to commit you to a loony bin? We want to charm him not send him running away screaming!"

She glared at him in offense. "I'm not good at flirting!"

Sebastian sighed, running his fingers through his hair in fake exasperation. He couldn't help but smile, as he looked at her teasingly. "It is truly one of Hogwarts biggest mysteries how you managed to bag someone as charming as me."

She tried to kick him in the shin for good measure. He calmly took a small step back avoiding her rather short legs.

"Don't worry, sweetheart. Sebastian's here for you. Time to show you how to properly sweep a man off his feet."

She rolled her eyes, "Like you can do better."

Polympians Event!

Clarifying right off the gate: This does NOT mean exclusively Percy x poly Olympians, it means any god/Percy ship.

What is the Polympians Event?

What I have in mind is an open event for any and all god/Percy ships. You ship Percy with only one god? Fill the prompts with only that ship! You sail many different god/Percy ships? Fill each prompt with a different ship, if you want! A full Percy/Olympians poly ship, OT3 or any poly constellation? Primordial gods, titans or non-Olympian gods? Any god(s)/Percy ship goes!

I've seen, in recent years, that god/Percy ships have gained quite some traction and I love that, so much. But while there are bigger ships that do have their own events, there are also the tiny rarepairs that don't get these chances, and even with the bigger ones, not everyone has the time/energy to participate in all their ships' events. So one blanket event, where the biggest of god/Percy ships and the rarest of god/Percy ships are equally welcome.

Are there rules to this?

Yes, but only the most basic. No ship bashing or harassment of other participants. The event is open to all god/Percy ships, which means people will participate with your NOTPs too. Don't like them? Don't read them. Instead, focus on the new content to your own ships! If you can't be a civil, normal person about this, then this event isn't for you.

Whether you want to write smut or not is entirely up to you, but you ought to tag appropriately!

What's the plan?

I chose the dates of the Lightning Thief quest for this event! Meaning it will run from May 28th (Percy waking up at CHB) to June 21st (Percy returning the Master Bolt and Helmet).

That length works out well for there to be 12 prompts, and you would have two days to post each prompt, plus an additional 13th prompt on the last day, to keep with the theme of the Olympians.

I'll get an AO3 collection started to which you can submit your entries on AO3 and, if there would be interest in it, I could start a sideblog specifically for this event to which entries (with proper ship tags so you can filter out your NOTPs) will be reblogged as a signal boost.

May 30th/31st: wedding/marriage

June 1st/2nd: The sea does not like to be restrained

June 3rd/4th: family focus

June 5th/6th: jealous/possessive [god]

June 7th/8th: role-swap AU (god!Percy/demigod![god])

June 9th/10th: Modern AU/no powers

June 11th/12th: metamorphosis/shapechange

June 13th/14th: godly gifts

June 15th/16th: Aphrodite ships it

June 17th/18th: Percy accepts godhood

June 19th/20th: yearning/pining

June 21st: Mythology

And because I'm bad at phrasing short prompts, here some explanations on what I had in mind with them, though you are of course free to interpret them in whatever manner you read them!

Roman: could mean the Roman aspect of the god, a Roman!Percy AU, or whatever else you want to make of it!

family focus: Are Percy and the god married with children of their own? Percy as step-parent to campers? The god meeting Sally, Paul and/or Tyson?

metamorphosis/shapechange: the gods have a track-record of turning people into animals or plants. Does this mean full animal, or catboy/other hybrid? Is this angst or fluff?

godly gifts: magic powers granted to Percy, or literal physical gifts to court, or something else?

Aphrodite ships it: Aphrodite as wing-woman, hyping and helping, can also very much include Aphrodite/Percy since she would be her own biggest shipper

Mythology: could be a mythological AU where Percy takes on a role from the past, or specific elements of a tale that recur, anything

Taylor x Greg. You read Worm SI's unironically and get really defensive when people say that Greg is an incel. Completely unrelated, you haven't spoken to a woman other then your mother in five years. Taylor x Cherie: I've been informed this is a ship. I've yet to be informed as of a reason why I should like it. Cherie likers stay mad!

Lisa x Rachel: I don't remember the last time I saw this ship that wasn't also tagged as a polycule with Taylor, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're an OT3 enjoyer.

I finished reading the latest fic in the ot3 tag this morning (I should know what turns you on by Dancey96, which was absolutely incredible and very sexy and i highly highly recommend it) but there's a line in there where Keeley voices skepticism about Roy and Jamie getting together because of the power dynamic of Roy being Jamie's coach, rooted specifically in her own experience dating Jack.

And i have not been able to stop thinking about that since. Because, woah.

Like of course that dynamic between them could bring up Stuff for her and I can't believe I've never seen or thought of that take before but it is a FASCINATING idea. Especially because a lot of people (myself included) have written fics where Roy is the one really panicked about the coach-player dynamic and being in a position of influence over Jamie. I can totally see Roy acting like that, but I would now LOVE a fic where Roy and Jamie get together and are both totally okay with it and unbothered by the power dynamic aspect, but meanwhile Keeley, after they tell her, is freaking the fuck out because of her own experience with Jack and convinced Jamie is going to end up very hurt/taken advantage of even though she knows in her heart Roy isn't at all like that and it would never do anything to hurt Jamie intentionally. It's just all getting mixed up in her head and taking her back to how small she felt with Jack.

So she tries to talk to Jamie about it for her own piece of mind, but then he gets offended because he takes it as Keeley telling him he's stupid or wrong for dating Roy or think he gets hurt too easily OR that she's just jealous he got with Roy before she could. He pushes her away and they are both too harsh to each other and end up leaving the conversation hurt. But after Roy hears about it from Jamie he knows there's something more going on and demands they go to keeley's to check on her.

In this scenario, neither he nor Roy know the full context about Keeley and Jack because she hasn't opened up to them, but it ends in her doing so and the three of them having a frank and open conversation about why she's been so worried and weird about their relationship, and then they comfort her about Jack. And after actually spending time with both of them, she sees their relationship is nothing like that one was and they are being so much more responsible about it than Jack ever was, and she starts to trust it more and see how it could work (and maybe acknowledge to herself that she wants to be a part of it). :)

On Izzy Hands

Popping this on this blog too, just so it'll show up in the tags... My superior alternate suggestions for a S2 ending are under the cut. We all know I'm right.

Honesty Hour time. The reason we were all like 'I bet he's going to die' is because WHENEVER a character has a cool redemption arc OR a queer character comes out and experiences genuine queer joy for the first time in their life, their mortality rate goes up by 90%. But it was such a disappointment to be proven right.

I think we all expected better of the writing team. They've committed to doing genuinely new and interesting things with this story in the past, rather than just trotting out tired old tropes! But... not in this case.

People say they want more Zuko-esque redemption arcs, but we can't have that if every character who was A Bit Of A Dick at first gets killed off. And... c'mon. The whole arc of Izzy finding a family in the crew, and healing after being abused awfully for ages, and finding happiness, and openly embracing his queerness and disability.... then just randomly getting shot by a dude? Not even as a dramatic 'protecting someone' sacrifice? He just randomly got shot?? And we're all supposed to feel sad about that rather than just kinda let down?

Yeaaaaah, I do not think they achieved what they were going for.

I understand that a lot of that was because they had to shorten the series SO MUCH more than they wanted, but still.... it would have cost nothing to let Izzy just sail away with the rest of the crew as the Captain of the Revenge, while Ed and Stede retired!! It felt kinda like they were building towards that all season! Hell, that would've been a more meaningful progression for all of their characters.

We could still have had the scene where Izzy tells Ed he has family and that he's loved! We could've had a fake-out death where we had all the drama and expectation that he would die! Then in the last scene he comes out as the new captain to officiate Lucius and Pete's wedding!

We'd have Ed and Stede letting go of Blackbeard for good and building something new together on land - but we'd also have Izzy finally moving beyond the 'Blackbeard' persona he helped Ed create (and, arguably, did more for than Ed!). He'd be a captain who actually gives a shit about his crew, but who has learnt from Stede and Ed the importance of being a bit softer and gentler rather than brutally efficient 24/7. He evidently already admires Zheng (the face journey he goes on when she downs the big guy at Jackiez is ... it's sure something!) and I want a million more hours of them interacting. I bet they could be a super-funny duo. Plus, he could inevitably drag Stede and Ed back in next season! And get revenge on the prince who shot him!

It would've been perfect.But no, they had to kill him off because the OT3 potential was too strong, and bury a career pirate on land. Meh.

I'm tempted to watch the next season, if there is one, just for Olu/Jim/Archie/Zheng, but I can't say I care that much about the writing anymore. I won't be crying if the show does stop here, but I will be crying over everything that could have been!
