Esther Williams swims with classic cartoon characters Tom and Jerry in the MGM/Charles Walters musical comedy Dangerous When Wet, 1953. This sequence, a stand-out in the movie, was created using the talents of seventy-one animators (including William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, who later went on to helm The Flinstones, The Jetsons and Scooby-Doo), with animation co-ordinated by Chuck Jones (best remembered for his legendary work on the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes) under the direction of Friz Freleng (the Oscar winning director of numerous Looney Tunes animated shorts of the 1940s and 1950s).

If at first you don’t succeed….Duck Dodgers pitch cover - This second attempt to sell Duck Dodgers as a television show in Oct. 1998, had Lola Bunny joining the crew, Sparky being reduced to a smaller role with Dodgers’ rival Star Johnson. John P. McCann was in charge of revamping this version of the show. He asked me and Tony Cervone to adapt the artwork to reflect this new direction.
