Jake Seresin leaned casually against the rustic exposed wooden beam of the dimly lit bar, his gaze fixed on you as you shared a moment of laughter with your friends across the room. With the air of someone who knew they were being watched, he flicked another dart effortlessly towards the board, the satisfying thud of it hitting the bullseye punctuating the room. He took a slow sip of his beer, the corner of his lips curling into a self-assured smirk as his friends marveled at his accuracy.
Javy couldn't help but prod at Jake's seemingly supernatural dart-throwing abilities. "How do you do it, man? You never even look at the board."
Jake chuckled, tapping the side of his temple with his index finger. "Photographic memory, my friend. I've got every angle mapped out up here," he said with a grin, never once breaking his gaze from you.
Bradley, ever the skeptic, scoffed from the sidelines. "Oh, please. Anyone can get lucky tossing darts at a board."
A challenge hung heavy in the air as Jake raised an eyebrow, his grin widening. "Care to put that theory to the test, Bradshaw?"
Bradley, never one to back down, accepted with a lazy smirk. "Fine. But don't blame me if your girl decides she wants a more skilled pilot."
"Bring it on," Jake replied, his confidence unwavering.
With practiced ease, Bradley sent his first dart flying, hitting the bullseye just as he predicted. Jake's expression remained cool, but there was a flicker of admiration in his eyes as Bradley repeated the feat with his second shot. Bullseye again.
Jake's smirk faltered slightly, but he quickly recovered, raising his pint glass towards the dartboard. "You can't do it a third time."
Bradley's competitive spirit flared as he confidently launched his final dart, only to miss the mark by a fraction of an inch. He turned to Jake, a hint of defiance in his eyes as he admitted defeat.
Jake couldn't resist a playful jab. "Not quite perfect, Bradley."
But any teasing was forgotten as you appeared beside him, your touch warm on his shoulder. "Hey there, sugar," Jake greeted you with a smile. "See me get a perfect streak?" Jake purposefully drawled out the word ‘perfect’, resulting in a dramatic eyeroll from Bradley.
Jake's smile softened as he wrapped an arm around you, his gaze never straying far from yours. You grinned as he tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear, nodding your head as you spoke. “Sure did, honey. You did great!”, you gushed.
“I am great, darlin’, you know that.”
Bradley groaned and rolled his eyes before downing the rest of his beer. With an exaggerated sigh, he shook his head, holding his empty glass up to you and the others before speaking.
“Anyone down for another round? I’ll buy.”
You chuckled at Bradley's offer, exchanging knowing glances with Jake before nodding in agreement. "I could go for another," you said with a grin, feeling Jake's arm tighten slightly around your waist.
“Sure, thanks man,” Jake started, handing Bradley his empty glass, “After, why don’t we rematch? We can switch to the pool table, if you guys would rather, that way you might actually have a chance at beating me.”
Bradley scoffed and shook his head. “Fine, you’re on.”
Javy, always up for a good time, eagerly agreed. "I'm in. Let's see if lightning strikes twice for old Bradshaw here."
Bradley shot Javy a mock glare before laughing, his competitive streak undeterred. "We'll see about that," he retorted, already heading towards the bar to order everyone’s drinks.
As Bradley disappeared into the crowd, you leaned into Jake's side, relishing in the warmth of his presence. The soft buzz of conversation and clinking glasses enveloped you, creating a comforting backdrop to the evening.
"You know, I think Bradley's just jealous," you whispered teasingly, tilting your head up to meet Jake's gaze.
Jake chuckled softly, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he looked down at you. "Can you blame him?" he replied, his voice low and playful. "After all, he's got to compete with the best."
You rolled your eyes affectionately, swatting his chest playfully. "Smooth talker," you teased, but couldn't hide the smile that tugged at your lips.
“Besides all that, I’ve got the best girl, so really, poor Bradley didn’t stand a chance, did he?” Jake whispered as he leaned into your ear, his green eyes fixed on yours as he planted a soft kiss on your lips.
“The best girl, huh?” You mused, raising an eyebrow, “That’s a new one for me.”
“Mhmm,” Jake hummed as he gave you a playful tap on the nose with his index finger. “You better get used to it, honey.”
As you all rounded the pool table, gathering into your teams, Bradley furrowed his brow as he gestured to you and Jake as Jake kept you close to him for his team.
“Oh no you don’t loverboy.” Bradley chided, shaking his head, “She’s on my team. Together you two’ll just end up getting handsy on the pool table and make us all lose our lunch.”
“He’s got a point there, don’t he?” Jake shrugged as he conceded, letting go of his protective, loving grip on your waist.
You watched as Bradley lined up to take his shot. Observing his form carefully, you tried to make mental notes so you could match his game - you weren’t the greatest at pool, Jake usually used teaching you as an excuse to put his hands all over you, not that you complained. It just resulted in some incredibly short lessons in pool, and some playful sessions in the bed of his Ford F-150.
Bradley leaned in close to your ear, whispering softly as he came up with a game strategy. “How well can you accidentally distract Jake?”
“Oh, easy,” you responded with confidence, nodding your head slightly as your gaze fixated on Jake, who was lining his pool cue up for his turn.
“Perfect, do your thing.”
You sipped your cocktail and fiddled with the straw, your lips encircling the tip in a way that you knew Jake would interpret as suggestive. Sure enough, as soon as Jake looked up at you, sea-green eyes locked in a gaze at your mouth as it played with the end of your straw, he missed his shot, causing the cue ball to bounce off the edge of the table, not striking anything in its path. Jake straightened his posture, raising an eyebrow at you as you set your glass down to take your own shot. Bradley smirked from behind his beer bottle, admiring your technique for riling Jake up better than any amount of trash talk ever could.
During Jake’s next turn, you shoved your glass into Bradley’s open hand, before fiddling and unbuttoning the top two buttons of your plaid shirt, exposing just enough cleavage to have Jake’s mind wandering. Once again, as soon as Jake caught a glimpse of you, he missed his shot, shaking his head and grumbling to himself as Javy joked about him being off his game.
“I’m not off my game. Everyone has one off game.”
“Just admit it, Jake, you’re not as good at pool as they are. Bradley’s got you beat.”
Jake scoffed and rolled his eyes again, before leaning over to take his next shot, trying to follow up after you sink one of the balls into the pocket, eliciting a high-five and a cheer from Bradley. As the game progressed, Jake caught on to your little game. His cheeks blushed when you whispered what you wanted him to do to you later that evening, he had to clear his throat to cover the involuntary moan that threatened to escape his mouth when your hand caressed his bicep, and he had to position himself carefully behind the pool table while he tried to focus his mind on anything other than the mental image you put in his head when you described what kind of underwear you were wearing under your skirt.
After losing another round, Jake felt a simmering frustration bubbling beneath his skin, an insistent urge gnawing at him with every passing moment. He clenched his jaw, struggling to rein in the primal desires coursing through him. All he could think about was laying you down on the smooth surface of the pool table, indulging in the raw passion that pulsed between you. But he knew he couldn't act on those impulses, not here, not now.
Instead, he tossed the pool cue down with an uncharacteristic huff, the weight of his competitive nature hanging heavy in the air. His typically composed demeanor faltered, a rare glimpse of vulnerability flickering in his eyes as he turned away. You exchanged a knowing glance with Bradley, silently acknowledging the tension that hung between you all, before following Jake's retreating figure outside.
The night air enveloped you like a thick blanket as you stepped out of the dimly lit bar, the humidity clinging to your skin like a second layer. Concern etched across your features, you approached Jake cautiously, your footsteps echoing in the quiet night.
"Jake?" you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper, as you closed the distance between you.
"Mhmm?" His response was gruff, his body tense as he leaned against the side of his truck, the muscles in his arms flexing beneath the fabric of his shirt.
"Are you alright?" you asked softly, furrowing your brow with worry. "I wasn’t trying to be a dick—Bradley and I just thought it’d be funny if I, you know, distracted you a little."
Jake chuckled, a hint of amusement glinting in his eyes as he turned to face you. "I'm not mad."
"You aren’t?" Relief flooded through you, easing the tension in your shoulders.
"Of course not," he reassured you, his gaze softening as he reached out to pull you into his embrace. "I mean, you got me good, I’ll give you that."
"I did?" A smile tugged at the corners of your lips, grateful for his understanding.
"Sure did, Sugar." Jake's smirk was equal parts wicked and enticing, sending a shiver down your spine.
"But now it’s my turn to get you back." His words hung in the air like a promise, igniting a fire in your veins as you met his gaze with a playful challenge of your own.

!bestfriend Jungkook that buys you snacks at the nearest convenience store when he knows you’re feeling under the weather because of course he does. He won’t even hesitate to grab every single snack in an aisle if it means turning your frown into a smile <3
!bestfriend Jungkook that walks to your apartment daily after practice no matter how late/early it is because he knows with even your presence he’ll be fully energized all over again
!bestfriend Jungkook that follows right behind you when your friends ask you to go to the club with them. They’re not even surprised when they spot you walking towards them with Jungkook to your right. He follows to keep you safe and sound. Or so he says.
!bestfriend Jungkook that watches your every move when his hyung walks into the studio to make sure you’re attention to Eunwoo isn’t more than he’d like. His love for Eunwoo is endearing and he’d do almost anything for his brother. Key word: almost. Jungkook doesn’t need to lose you to Eunwoo so when he walks in, greeting you as Jungkook is finishing up recording, Jungkook grabs all his items in record time along with your hand and guides the two of you out of the building and to your apartment.
!bestfriend Jungkook that doesn’t know how to react when you talk to him about your coworker that has had a crush on you since you first applied to the job. The feeling in his chest confused him in the sense that he doesn’t exactly know why it hurts when his name is brought up.
“Can we change the subject?”
“Oh sure is something wrong?” You ask with concern all over your face.
Shaking his head he replies, “No I just want to move on from this subject,”
You nod before cuddling back into him and resuming the movie you were both previously watching before you interrupted with your story.
!bestfriend Jungkook that doesn’t know he’s in love with you and that his feelings are reciprocated.
“You’re pretty,” he watched you walk out of the dressing room into the private room he booked a few weeks ago wearing a pink dress you've had your eye on for who knows how long.
Jungkook would have bought it for you had you not straight up threatened him to not speak to him for a week because the dress is expensive.
"...and you're a liar,"
"What? How am I lying?" he replies staring at your smile that was simply for him before it fades.
"I don't know if I like it anymore," you frown a bit looking in the mirror not really liking the way it wraps around your body.
"What do you mean? You look beautiful, Y/N," he replies staring at you through the mirror.
You stare back at him for a split second before shaking your head slightly and making your way back to the dressing room before a hand wraps around wrist.
"You look absolutely gorgeous and I will remind you of that every day if I have to," his hands are now on your shoulders and his face is closer than ever.
You stare at his eyes that you've admired every chance you get and his lips you always wanted to feel.
He begins to lean in closer to the point that you feel his warm breath when he exhales.
"Is there anything needed in here?" you hear before you back away staring at the floor.
Jungkook remains where he was with a smirk on his face before looking at the consultant.
"We'll take this dress. Just put it on my card," he says
"Absolutely I'll be back in a minute to pack it up for you," she smiles and pulls the curtain back to the way it was before. You hear her heels fade further and further away.
You clear your throat, "I'm going to change," you say walking back to the dressing room.
Jungkook smiled watching you walk away and realizing you completely did not notice he would be the one purchasing the dress for you.
I guess now he would just have to hope you would still speak to him.

You’re too sweet for me ₊ ⊹ part 1

Halsin x fem Tav (dark urge) — Explicit 18+
Summary: Tav takes a dip in the river to calm those pesty dark thoughts, hoping it'd help settle these murderous urges. But things turn interesting when Halsin finds her, offering to keep her company in the water. If only he knew just how pure he was in her eyes, a shame it'd be to destroy such an image.
TW: SMUT!
Note: I like this power dynamic. Halsin’s no match for this attitude. This isn't proof-read yet so pls don't bully me :')
AO3
Lovely photo by @moonslittlestar
Tav pushed back the droplets of water with her palms, fluttering her wet eyelashes against the moonlight by the riverbank. Its light reflected white against the ripples of water Tav bathed herself in.
The cool water was almost therapeutic to her, settling those dark urges so late at night. It'd be a shame if another Alfira incident happened again...
A smile crept on her lips.
Whatta shame for the poor bard.
With a menacing giggle, she ran her fingers through her wet hair, enjoying the sound of the silence of night. It was so calm compared to the rapid evil thoughts that tainted her mental.
Tav knew she had to be a good girl.
At least for now.
A crunching of rocks and sticks startled her, and she quickly wrapped her arms around her bare chest; turning her head towards the sound.
Startled, Tav turned to see Halsin approaching quietly. His tall figure was outlined against the moonlight, and his eyes held a gentle warmth as he looked at her.
“Oh - Tav...I didn't know you bathed around this time. Is it alright if I join you?” he asked, his voice carrying over the gentle sounds of the flowing water.
A mischievous smile played on Tav’s lips, meeting his gaze. “Of course, cause that isn't weird at all,” her tone laced with sarcasm as she nudged her head at him.
Why not? If it was anyone who didn't find this weird, it'd be Halsin.
The air between them seemed thick with unspoken desire while Halsin turned away, undressing each article of clothing off his body.
Tav's eyes trailed down from the bare muscles of his back all the way down to his toned ass. A smirk crossed her lips, turning away to leave him to his privacy as he walked into the water.
What can she say - he was beautiful.
Total eye candy.
With a graceful ease, Halsin stepped into the water beside Tav, the coolness of the river enveloping him. The closeness between them felt electric, their gazes locked in a silent pull.
"It's a peaceful night to indulge ourselves." His eyes traced over the contours of Tav's face and into her collarbones, stopping at the plump of her breasts that hid in the water. His lips parted slowly, "I assume you've been here for some time now?"
Tav caught his lingering gaze and nodded with a small smile, "For only about 15 minutes before you showed up." Tav circled around Halsin, cupping water into her hands and pouring the cool water over his shoulders, "I'm happy it was you who found me."
Tav's hands draped over his back, rubbing the water into his skin, "I am a bit of a lone wolf, but your presence is always welcomed." The coolness from her breath hit against Halsin's damp skin causing him to chuckle at her perfumed words.
"Nature spoils me with someone of your bountiful looks." He leaned back slightly, allowing Tav to run her hands up his back, neck, and then hair with water.
"Have you given thought about what I've said the other day?" He spoke with confidence and Tav let out a laugh.
Oh yeah - that.
Halsin confessed his feelings for her some time ago and she never got back to his proposition. Halsin wanted more than just lingering stares. He wanted to feel her, touch her, please her.
The only problem...He was too nice for her.
These evil thoughts and bloodlust for murder made Tav hesitant to pursue something more with Halsin.
He was so pure and she was the darkness of his shadow.
"Oh Halsin." Tav gently scraped her nails down his back, leaving behind faint red streaks on his skin, "You're too sweet for me."
A chill ran up his back before Tav submerged herself under the water, and Halsin turned his head back, looking around the find her.
Just then, Tav slowly rose up from the dark water in front of him, the water rolling off her body like the softest petal of a flower. Her eyelashes battered with water droplets and it rolled off her bare nipples for Halsin's pleasure.
Tav was an absolute tease. A beautiful mess of a woman who gnawed at his deepest darkest fantasies. Halsin never experienced someone like her and he was practically begging for Tav's attention.
His eyes consumed every detail. Every scar and the faint stretch marks on her breasts. Halsin's eyes gleamed at the soft pudge of her love handles when he noticed them. Tav's body was a piece of art; nature's purest gift.
Tav tilted her head, watching Halsin’s eyes dart around her wet body and then back to her lustful eyes. “You couldn’t handle someone like me,” she teased, a mischievous glint playing in her eyes. “Trust me, I would destroy any innocence you think of me…and maybe it’s best to keep it that way.”
Halsin hummed to her words. Captivated by Tav’s boldness, he felt a wave of desire but masked it with a seductive charm. His voice was smooth as he replied, his words dripping with honeyed persuasion.
“My love,” he began, his gaze intense yet inviting. “Innocence has its allure, but the fire in your eyes tells a different story...Perhaps it is not about handling you but rather embracing the chaos you bring."
He continued, leaning closer to her, his hands resting on her hips, "Even nature's most dangerous of predators has its beauty. You have hunter eyes -" Halsin brought one of his hands to rest on her cheek, bringing her body against his in a tight-knit, "Piercing. Dangerous. But beautiful."
Her breasts pressed against the muscles of his chest and it brought a fever across her cheeks. The sweetness in Halsin's voice was enough to make Tav question her better judgment.
Tav giggled and tickled his muscular arms with the tips of her nails softly, "Mmm, you're so tempting, druid." Tav gently peeled herself away from him. She clutched onto his hands, leading him deeper into the river until the water reached her shoulders.
Tav splashed a handful of water toward Halsin, causing him to chuckle as he playfully splashed back. Laughter filled the night air in this innocent water fight.
Suddenly, Halsin dove underwater briefly, only to resurface moments later in a swift movement, scooping Tav up into his arms, her laughter ringing out.
Tav held onto his shoulders for support as his strong arms wrapped securely around her thighs, locking her in place. Their eyes met in the dim moonlight, their laughter faded into a comfortable silence.
Tav’s gaze drifted down to Halsin’s wet hair and face, illuminated by the soft glow of the moon above. Her fingers traced over his brow, dipping into the crevices of his scars.
She couldn’t help but admire his rugged charm. Had Tav not felt like such a bad influence on Halsin, he would have already been hers since the night of the tiefling party. It’s not like she didn’t already try.
But he denied her.
Oh how the tables turn.
Without hesitation, she leaned in closer, teasingly hovering the plump of her lips over his. Eyes like daggers bore into Halsin, and he shifted her down enough for Tav to hook her legs around his waist.
Tav hummed with her voice soft in a whisper, “I bet you want to kiss me so badly right now, hmm?”
Halsin chuckled deeply in his chest, clicking his tongue softly against his teeth. “You’re making me feel like a young Druid again…I’d chase you like bait on a fishing line.”
Tav wrapped her arms around his neck, laying her head gently against his nape and purring into his ear, “Maybe I’m just waiting for you to bite the bait then.”
Halsin crooked his neck to meet Tav’s gaze. She rested her head on his shoulder and smiled up at him playfully. Tav pressed her thumb over Halsin’s bottom lip, grazing the skin in small strokes, “Remember what you said to me at the tiefling party?”
She dragged her thumb down, pulling his lower lip seductively until it dipped back up into place. His face went hot and she could feel his muscles stiffen.
Halsin closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath before nodding his head to the memory, “I do.”
Tav traced small circles into the nape of his neck, feeling the goosebumps caress her skin as she planted a single kiss on his neck, “And what did you tell me?”
Halsin shamefully answered her with defeat, “That I will not keep you all to myself.” He tilted his head away, exposing more of his neck to her.
“A shame, really.” She scuffed. Admittedly, Tav still held that against him. Rejection was something she never really experienced when it came to sex.
He was the first.
And to see him now, crumbling at the smallest touch satisfied her deeply.
“Now tell me, Druid…” Tav leaned her head up, coming face to face with Halsin, “How are we going to fix this problem?”
She nudged her hips against him, feeling the tip of his hardened length poking at her inner thighs under the water.
“Allow me to take you out of this river and I’ll show you, bratty love.”
Her lips tugged into a smirk at the word "bratty."
Tav's eyes gleamed, and her hands cupped his jaw, forcing his face closer to hers with a tug. A breathy chuckle left her lips before crashing them against Halsin's.
He hesitated at first from her force, but then slowly melted into the kiss, hugging her tighter than before. The drive in her kiss startled him, and he could feel all the emotions spilling out into a sweet kiss on his tongue.
Tav nibbled down on his lower lip, dragging her sharp canine across his delicate skin; causing him to wince softly as the small cut began to bleed.
His blood tasted bitter and warm, but the druid only encouraged her by mixing the flavor between their tongues.
Finally, Tav pulled away with a soft gasp. Her chest rose up and down with lustful eyes, “You talk a big game...I wonder just how well that tongue works..”
Halsin planted a kiss on her jawline, his voice strong and assertive, “I can show you.”
She lifted an eyebrow, “And risk someone catching us out in the open?”
He nodded with flushed cheeks. His eyes fell hazy as the blood on his lips smudged across his skin. The sting of his cut only bothered him for a moment before it all melted away into pleasure.
This painful pleasure was...intoxicating.
She's such a bad influence and he didn't even care.
Tav’s voice was low and husky as she leaned in closer to Halsin, her breath warm against his skin. Her eyes sparkle mischievously, “Very well…but - you got to earn it,” she murmured teasingly with dominance. “Show me, just with your tongue, and maybe then I’ll reconsider your…proposition."
Halsin’s hands instinctively found their way to her hips, fingers kneading gently into the plush of her skin, "A fair bargain. I would have more faith in me, however."
She pressed her index finger across his lips, hushing Halsin. Leaning into him with charm in her tone, "Tongue, not words."
Halsin nodded.

Black Market: V
Hitman Simon Riley x Doctor Fem!Reader
In desperate need of money to clear a million-dollar debt, you accept Simon's offer to become his personal doctor, earning twenty percent of each contract he completes. But as you plunge back into the black market, ghosts from your past emerge, threatening to unravel everything you've worked so hard to run away from.
Fluff, violence, mention of roofie, mention of sex trafficking.
Masterlist - Black Market Masterlist
You and Simon sit at the dining room table, a deck of cards between you. The soft glow of the overhead light casts shadows on the cards as you shuffle and deal. Simon frowns as he studies his hand, clearly not thrilled with his cards.
After a few rounds, you lay down your winning hand, a triumphant grin on your face. "Looks like that's four wins for me, Simon."
Simon eyes you suspiciously. "You've got to be cheating. There's no way you're winning this much by luck."
You laugh, gathering the cards. "Maybe you're just not as good at this game as you thought."
Simon rolls his eyes, his competitive streak showing. "I highly doubt that. You're probably just a cheater."
You lean back in your chair, smirking. "Well, if you want, I can teach you a thing or two about the game. But I don't think you have what it takes to beat me."
Simon scoffs, "We'll see about that."
The banter continued as you shuffled the cards for another round, Simon making snarky remarks the entire time you played. Despite the teasing, there was an underlying comfort in each other's company that had grown over time. You played your winning hand down again and Simon threw his cards on the table and leaned back shaking his head.
“Just admit you’re cheating love.”
You laughed and went on a rant about how he doesn't know how to play the right cards and the two of you started bickering again. You never realized how much you enjoyed having Simon around, his presence had become a source of comfort and joy in your life.
As you sit across from each other at the dinner table, the clinking of cutlery against plates fills the air. Simon's question catches you off guard, “Ever been to the Bahamas?" genuine curiosity in his voice.
You pause, swirling your fork through the food on your plate before responding. "No, I haven't really traveled much since... you know, everything happened."
Simon nods, understanding evident in his expression. "I'm not surprised,"
You take a deep breath, "I never wanted to risk getting seen. Traveling is the number one way people get sex trafficked, and I couldn't take that chance."
"Makes sense,"
After a moment of silence, Simon speaks up again, his tone thoughtful. "You know, since you have your own little personal bodyguard," he gestures towards himself with a small smirk, "maybe it's time for the two of us to take some much-needed vacation."
You raise an eyebrow, a hint of surprise crossing your features. "Vacation?"
Simon nods, "Yeah, why not? We both deserve a break from all this madness. And besides," he adds with a playful grin, "I promise to keep you safe."
You can't help but smile at his offer, feeling a warmth spread through you at the thought of spending time outside on the beach. "Where would we even go?"
Simon's smile widens as he leans back in his chair. "The Bahamas of course”
You lean back in the chair and think for a moment, "I don't even have any clothes for the Bahamas,"
"We can swing by your place and pick up whatever you need.” You hum and nod slowly, “Sounds like a plan then.”
The plane gently touched down on the runway, signaling the start of your much needed vacation. Soon enough, you found yourselves checked into your hotel room, ready to unwind after the flight. But as you stepped into the room and surveyed your surroundings, a frown creased your brow.
There was only one bed.
Turning to Simon, you raised an eyebrow in silent confusion. His muttered curse confirmed your suspicion. "Fucking hell, I asked for a double queen room," frustration evident in his voice.
While Simon dialed the reception you took the opportunity to explore the room. Opening the curtains, your eyes widened at the breathtaking view outside the window. The sight of pristine beaches and blue waters stretched out before you.
Moments later, Simon's exasperated tone broke the tranquil silence. "Bloody no good fuck," he muttered, hanging up the phone.
"They're fully booked, so they can't switch our room,"
You shrugged nonchalantly, trying to mask any disappointment. "That's okay," you replied, forcing a casual tone. "I don't mind sleeping on the couch."
Simon's response caught you off guard. "What couch?" he questioned, his brow furrowed in confusion. Glancing around the room, you realized he was right. There was no couch in sight, only a couple of single chairs scattered about.
With a resigned sigh, you turned back to Simon, a wry smile tugging at your lips. "Well, I guess we'll just have to get cozy in the bed then," you suggested with a hint of amusement. He quirked his brow, his lips in a tight unamused line.
“I'm joking Simon” you laugh and shake your head, “we will figure something out later, I want to go to the beach and get some drinks.
You opened your suitcase and grabbed your swimsuit and cover-up, eager to enjoy the day ahead. After changing in the restroom, you slipped on your sandals and stepped out, only to freeze at the sight of Simon, shirtless, standing in shorts with his back turned to you.
Your eyes immediately drifted to the tattoo adorning his back, a large Medusa inked with intricate detail, reminiscent of your own.
Turning to face you, Simon casually adjusts his sunglasses atop his head. "You ready?" he asks, his voice breaking the momentary silence.
"Yeah, just need to grab my bag," you reply, still slightly taken aback by the coincidence of your tattoos. You glance down and notice Simon wearing a fanny pack, a sight that surprises you. Unable to contain your amusement, you offer a playful smile, "I didn't peg you as the type to wear fanny packs."
Simon's response catches you off guard as he casually reaches into the fanny pack and pulls out a small silenced pistol. Your eyes widen in surprise. "Got to keep us safe," he says matter-of-factly, his expression serious yet nonchalant.
Together, you head towards the elevator. Just as the doors slide open, two girls enter. You instinctively step back, allowing them space. However, it's Simon they seem to notice, their eyes lingering on his bare chest and his inked arm. Their flirtatious demeanor doesn't escape your notice, and a twinge of irritation pricks at you.
They smiled coyly, tucking their hair behind their ears as they leaned in closer to him, but Simon remained unaffected, his gaze fixed straight ahead. Taking a deep breath, you clear your throat, drawing Simon's attention to you. "Getting sick?" he asks, his concern genuine.
"No, just thirsty,"
"The walk isn't too far,"
The girls continued to eye fuck him, their jealousy evident as they shot glances in your direction. As the elevator descended, one of the girls spoke up with a tone dripping with disgust, "Are you guys together?" Simon quirked an eyebrow, his gaze briefly flickering down to them before he replied bluntly, "Yes."
The chime of the elevator interrupted the moment as you reached the lobby floor. The girls scoffed and one of them rolled her eyes at you before they hastily exited the elevator. You furrowed your brows, as you turned to Simon, walking side by side with him.
“I think they were asking if we were a couple. They seemed interested in you,”
Simon quirked his brow as he looked down at you, “Interested in me? Thought they meant if we came together,” You couldn't help but laugh, shaking your head. “Do you not have many interactions with women?” you teased lightly.
“Only the ones I need to kill,” Simon replied, his gaze lingering on your smile for a few seconds before tearing them away to open the lobby door. You laughed again, appreciating his dry humor as he held the door open for you.
You both settled into the beach chairs, the sun casting a warm glow over the sand. With a relaxed sigh, you slip off your sheer covering, feeling the gentle breeze against your skin.
“You want me to grab us some food while you save our chairs?”
Simon nods, reaching into his pocket to retrieve his wallet. He hands you his black card “Just don't go too far,” his tone casual but with a hint of concern.
You return his smile reassuringly, pointing towards the small bar just a few feet away. “I won't be far,” you assure him, before turning to walk towards the bar. As you go, you notice his eyes following you, a silent watchfulness ensuring your safety. When your back is turned, his gaze lingers on your medusa tattoo, mirroring his own, etched across your skin with shared significance.
Something stirs within him as he watches you, a strange mixture of familiarity and connection tugging at his chest. His attention is abruptly diverted when a girl suddenly steps into his line of sight, obstructing his view of you as she settles into your vacant chair. He quickly looks past her, making sure you're still within sight, even though his gaze was only momentarily blocked.
You stand a few feet away, discreetly observing Simon engaged in conversation with another girl while you wait for your drink at the bar. As you watch them interact, a subtle tightness grips your chest, a feeling you can't quite place. Is it jealousy? No, it couldn't be, right? You remind yourself that you don't have any romantic feelings for him, at least not consciously.
Yet, despite your rationalization, you can't shake off the discomfort that settles within you. You find yourself analyzing every gesture, every smile she flashes at him, unable to ignore the nagging sensation in the pit of your stomach. You take a deep breath, trying to quell the unease that threatens to consume you.
Finally, your drink arrives, providing a welcomed distraction. You force a smile as you thank the bartender, but your attention is still drawn back to Simon and the girl. You silently berate yourself for feeling this way, for allowing something as trivial as a conversation to affect you so deeply. But deep down, you can't deny the undeniable pull of something stirring within you, something you're not quite ready to confront.
You dip your finger into your drink, watching intently as you wait to see if your nail polish changes color. It's a precaution you always take, ever since you started using a special nail polish that detects the presence of roofies in drinks. Being cautious of any drink you didn't prepare yourself has become second nature to you.
After downing your fruity drink, your sliders are ready, and you startle when you hear Simon's voice beside you. Looking up, you furrow your brows in confusion. "Thought you were saving the chairs?" you question.
Simon lets out a sigh and leans on the counter. "Some girl was yappin' my bloody ear off," he explains, annoyance evident in his tone. "She asked for my number, and I gave her Johnny’s. They'd be perfect for each other." You laugh and grab the sliders off the counter.
As you both walk back to your chairs and start eating the sliders, time seems to pass effortlessly. You engage in easy conversation, enjoying each other's company amidst the beautiful view and weather.
As the sun begins to set, you both take seats at the bar and order drinks. Simon observes as you dip your finger into your drink, prompting his curiosity. "Why’d you do that?" he asks.
"My nail polish checks for roofies. Want me to check yours?" you tease, offering to inspect his drink. Simon playfully pushes his drink towards you. "Contaminate my drink with your dirty fingers, love," he jokes, a smirk playing on his lips.
You stick your pinky into his cup, and both of you watch as the polish changes color. Your heart sinks as the realization sets in, and you exchange a worried glance with Simon.
Simon's gaze shifts to the bartender, who's watching him intently, as if waiting for Simon to take a sip of the drink. Without hesitation, Simon places a hand on the small of your back, swiftly pulling out his gun from his fanny pack and firing a silenced round directly at the bartender's crotch.
He screams out and simon ushers you away quickly, his hand still firmly on your back as you speed-walk back to the hotel. Once inside your room, you lock the door behind you, adding an extra safety lock you brought along. Simon moves around the room with his gun drawn, ensuring it's clear.
"Why the fuck was he trying to roofie you?" You demand, your voice laced with anger an fear as you close the curtains ensuring your safety.
"To have easier access to you," he replies after taking a breath and your heart sinks knowing the weight of your past catching up to you.
"You think it's the contract?" you ask, your voice trembling with uncertainty. Simon nods solemnly, his expression mirroring your concern. Feeling overwhelmed, you sit down on the edge of the bed, tears welling up in your eyes. Fear grips your heart, weighing heavily on your shoulders as you curse softly under your breath.
Simon approaches you slowly, his first time witnessing you in such a vulnerable state. As he sits beside you on the bed, his eyes soften with empathy, taking in your tear-streaked face. You look up at him, feeling a mixture of despair and desperation, and you sniffle softly.
“I can’t go back there, Simon. I can't go back to those people, I can’t go back to him,” you admit, your voice trembling with fear and anguish. Seeing you in distress tugs at something deep within him, a desire to protect and reassure you.
Simon instinctively grabs his jacket and wraps it around you, offering what little comfort he can. As tears stream down your cheeks, Simon watches helplessly, unsure of how to comfort you. He places a gentle hand on your shoulder, silently conveying his support.
“I promise, Y/n, you’re safe. As long as you are with me, they won’t get to you,” Simon reassures you, his voice firm but gentle. But you shake your head, unable to shake off the fear that grips you.
"They already targeted you once. If I hadn't checked your drink, they would have had both of us. Who knows what they would have done to you..." Your voice falters as Simon cuts you off by wrapping his arms around you in a warm embrace.
You initially resist, feeling conflicted and overwhelmed, but as his arms envelop you, a sense of safety washes over you. “Just trust me, Y/n,” he murmurs softly, his words a gentle plea for you to find solace in his presence.
Your protests die on your lips as you lean into his embrace, allowing yourself to be held by him. In that moment, surrounded by his comforting presence, you find solace in the warmth of his embrace, feeling protected and cared for despite the turmoil swirling around you.
After a few moments, you gently wipe your wet eyes with the sleeve of Simon's jacket, the comforting scent of his cologne enveloping you. Gathering yourself, you stand up and make your way to the bathroom, exchanging your swimsuit for pajamas. You wrap Simon's jacket around you once more, finding solace in its warmth as you lie down on the bed.
“I’m going to stay up and watch the door, just in case they have something planned. At least one of us will catch it. I’ll look for the earliest flight we can take back home,” Simon informs you, his voice laced with determination.
You nod in understanding, feeling a sense of relief knowing that he's taking proactive measures to keep you both safe. With a heavy sigh, you rest your head on the pillow, exhaustion weighing heavily on you as sleep quickly overtakes you.
As Simon searches for flights on his laptop, his gaze occasionally drifts up to your sleeping form. He watches as your body rises and falls with each gentle breath, your features softened in the glow of the room. His eyes linger on your slightly puffy eyes from earlier.
He can't help but question his own actions, his unexpected urge to comfort you. Physical touch has always been something he avoided, a boundary he rarely allowed others to cross, even hating when Johnny would pat him on the back. Yet, in that vulnerable moment, he found himself reaching out to you without a second thought. Was it because you were crying? Because he wanted to offer you solace?
The internal conflict rages within him as he wrestles with his emotions. After all, you were just his doctor, someone he needed to keep safe for his own benefit. But as he watches you sleep, a flicker of something unfamiliar stirs within him, a growing awareness that perhaps his feelings towards you run deeper than he cares to admit.

hihi!! so about ur last post I would like to ask for a jeonghan + “aw come on, don’t go yet.” I think it'll be a sweet idea esp when I saw the aw heard it in his voice xheueiwiw
anon you're so right for this, this prompt feels very jeonghan coded and i too can hear it in his voice.
warning: mentions of alcohol
Tumblr media
jeonghan says something as you lift the glass up to your lips. the music around you is loud, there's a slight pounding in your head and you feel the pace of your heartbeat increasing slightly. whether it was because of the music, the alcohol or the close proximity to the man next to you, you can't be too sure.
"what did you say?" you raise your voice slightly while leaning closer to him.
"i said," he puts his glass down on the bar counter, "you like my friend joshua, don't you?"
your eyes widen as you turn to face him. "where did you even get that idea?"
"i don't know, just a feeling." you catch the slight smirk forming on his lips as he shrugs. he takes another sip from his glass before poking his tongue out a little to lick his lips and you find yourself staring. "so, do you?"
"huh?"
he chuckles, "joshua. do you like him?"
you scoff at his words, wondering how he can be this oblivious and wrong. how has he not caught on to your feelings by now? maybe it's the alcohol in you, but his ignorance seems to frustrate you a little more today. after downing the rest of your drink, you stand up from your stool. "i'm leaving."
jeonghan has the audacity to look surprised at that and quickly holds onto your wrist. "aw come on, don't go yet." he tugs lightly, signalling for you to sit back down. "i won't make you admit that you like him if you don't want to."
a noise of exasperation leaves you as you roll your eyes, you turn to face him directly and before you can stop yourself the words come out. "must you really make me say it?"
"say what?"
there's a look on his face you can't quite decipher and that's the thing about jeonghan, you can never really tell if he's playing or not and you guess that's one of the things that attracted you to him.
"thatyou'retheoneihavefeelingsfornothim," you get the string of words out too quickly before turning away from him, face burning with embarrassment.
jeonghan lets out a little laugh then he spins you back to look at him and he leans in so close that your lips are almost touching, his glassy eyes staring straight into yours. your breath hitches at the sudden closeness and you freeze, unable to look away from him.
"i didn't quite catch that," you can smell the alcohol in his breath. "say that again?"
you take a deep breath and try to speak but starts tripping over your own words instead, unable to form a coherent sentence. so you do the next best thing you can think of — you pull him towards you until his lips are on yours and you can taste the flavour of whatever he was drinking on your own tongue.
"did you catch that now?" you ask breathlessly.
"yeah i actually caught that the first time, and all the other times before." he admits playfully before pressing another kiss on your lips. "i just wanted to hear you say it."

My birthday was a couple days ago, and I got to see my bio dad for the first time in a while. He surprised me with the fact that I have a little half-sister, whom I've never met and who was adopted about two years back. So, I wondered if any situations in BB mimic this or have a theme of "secret siblings" or "secret family"? Sorry if this is a weird ask; this blog is honestly just such a cool little place and I love the way you approach the subject matter and take the flawed misogynistic foundation of the WC books and make them so much better (JUSTICE FOR BUMBLE!!!). I've also learned a lot about healthy and unhealthy relationships here and am really glad for your deep dives on Squilf and Bramble. Thanks, Bones!
Not weird at all! I really like exploring all the little nooks and crannies of complicated familial dynamics. I think one of the untapped strengths of WC (that the writers seem to be unaware of) is how their MASSIVE cast allows them to present all sorts of unique dynamics. So I like to pick up on it, since they don't.
For secret siblings...
I'm pretty heavily leaning towards Ambermoon being adopted by Wildfur, as a surrogacy. Something feels correct about it. Especially since Icecloud is getting retooled into a post-Battle of the True Eclipse birth, and a major supporting character in AVoS-era stories as a friend of Alderheart.
Thinking about it, I should zoom in and expand this. Maybe have Icecloud, somehow, acquire forbidden knowledge that would invalidate the Queen’s Rights and he (transman) struggles with if he's going to use it to expose his parents as an excuse to help Ambermoon.
(Especially since Ambermoon and Icecloud are basically nothing alike. Amber is independent, bold, and vain. Ice is jessie pinkman big-hearted, disorganized, and deceptively meek if you look past his "chill" demeanor)
But that's wip-- there's also Breezepelt and the Three, who are going to have an actual friendship. In particular I can't unsee Breeze and Lion having a deep one. I know I commit the Cardinal Sin of borderline himbo-ifying Lionblaze in BB, but I can't help it.
Hollyleaf ended up nabbing a bunch of his most violent roles to make her villainous descent smoother narratively, so BB!Lionblaze's story ends up being more focused on Ashfur's abuse, comic relief with cats in other Clans (something that the very serious Jay and Holly have a hard time providing), and the emotional fallout of the big reveal and Bramblestar's turn on them. Breezepelt slots neatly into that.
They were friends. Lionblaze's whole life came down around the reveal, everyone looking at him and his siblings differently, like they're suddenly something terrible. Why can't we find a silver lining, Breezepelt? Why can't we call ourselves brothers if the whole world is going to do it anyway? So much is changing, but THIS doesn't have to, we will take their weapon and turn it to armor, my ally, my friend, my brother.
(and when Breezepelt is lashing out at the three because of the Dark Forest's influence, Lionblaze is there, taking the blows and trying not to give in to the impulse to send him flying with a single paw)
There's also Harespring and Kestrelflight of WindClan and Owlclaw of ShadowClan. All of them are from a single litter between Whitewater and Mudclaw. She was going to raise the three of them alone as ShadowClan cats, but when the sire was smote, Whitewater felt they were cursed.
She was able to give the oldest two to their bio-uncle, Torear, but the weather was so bad that day and the runt was so sickly and small that it surely would have killed him. I don't think Owlclaw ever finds out why his mother always treated him with suspicion, but it did mess him up horribly.
Over in BB!DOTC, Thunder Storm is getting more half-siblings earlier. Clear Sky and Falling Feather had two daughters-- Pale Sky and Tiger Sky.
I want to explore the way that the various stages of Clear Sky's life acted on his kids. How any little curiosity Thunder Storm had about the life he might have had if he wasn't abandoned is crushed by seeing kittens who weren't. How Clear's favoritism of his oldest child set the trio against each other from the start. How this idea of "love" is toxic yet intoxicating.
It feels good to be the golden child. The power it gives you over his sycophants is satisfying. To know you, and you alone, have what someone else craves. Problem is, that's conditional, and it's cruel.
What Thunder Storm learns from his time with his biodad is that Clear Sky is not his father at all. He's taught him exactly what he DOESN'T want to be. There may be similarities-- in temperament, in physical prowess (though BB!Thunder is three-legged, he's still ripped), in taste and senses. But Thunder Storm's father is Shaded Flower.
(BB!Gray Wing died in the first book, rescuing Shaded Flower from being trampled by a horse. Xey're a patron of wisdom, Shaded Moss is taking the role of fatherhood to Thunder)
His sister is Rainswept Flower. His mom is Bright Storm. If there was a bond he could have had with Tiger Sky and Pale Sky, it dies simply and cruelly on the knife they used to cut each other out.
Pale might have wanted to mend it, she was the gentler one. But she dies in the First Battle along with her mother. Tiger Sky is too stubborn to accept any help, should Thunderstar offer it, and Thunderstar isn't in the business of begging for others to like him.
Naturally I'm lowkey obsessed with them lmao. I need to make a BB!DOTC overviewww
#I have a perspective on half siblings colored by a dynamic in my family#The generation above me has two siblings who had an awful biodad and an amazing stepdad (who did officially adopt them)#And there was nothing ''natural'' or good about how one of them was obsessed with their biodad.#It was influenced by his surroundings and did nothing but drag an incredibly toxic man back into his sister's life#Over and over#But anyway the son used to tell me ''theres no half in siblings''#The daughter adored her halfbrother through the mother who raised them-- but was adamant that her biodad's newer kids were nothing to her#I guess I agree with the son. But not in the way he believes it#There's no half in siblings because you either Are. Or you are Not.#You have a shared experience with having that person as a parent or you don't. And that's what's unchanging.#It's not the blood; it's the sweat and tears. But anyhoo#Personal details of my life aside#Tiger Sky and Pale Sky are Clear's Dead Angel Fetus Children in-canon. I think that was Weird.#So instead I made them. Not. Dead angel fetus children....#They're characters now lmaoo#Better bones au#I think Tiger Sky (i call her Tigs in my head a lot) is one of my favorite kit saves ever though#She's not going to be from the last litter either. I haven't picked who the mom is yet but he does have even more#At least one of those is going to make a grab at power but um. Sparrow Heart will not react Well.#BASICALLY lads I'm cooking. My revamps of the DOTC characters basically write themselves because I am very fond of them.#Clear's youngest: ''OH I JUST CANT WAIT TO BE KI-"#Sparrowstar: ''-lled.''

Shadow Milk Cookie x GN! Beast reader. ONESHOT.
Warnings: Slight angst, possession
-Same-
It's been an awful long time since you were last awake. Did this even count as sleeping? Does being sealed away count as being asleep?
"Heyy. Wakey wakey!"
Who's voice is that? It sounds familiar.
"Come on, doll! You're making me worried.."
They sound upset. Wait, why are there voices?
"You are alive.. right? You didn't crumble away?"
I think I'm free...
You would flutter your eyes open. Everything was blurry, and your head hurt. Somebody was poking your face, but their hands were cold. Not the most welcoming of scenes, but whatever.
"Oh, so you are alive! That's a relief. I don't know what I'd do without you!" The person was leaning over you, and they held a big smile.
They seem familiar... but who are they?
You would smack their face away from yours and back away from them.
"Ow! Don't you know hitting your lover is mean?" The cookie would put a hand on his face while glaring at you.
What did he just say?
"Lover?"
The cookies face would turn sulen.
"Yeah... You remember me, right?"
...
Nobody said a word.
"Doll, I'm all for jokes, but this isn't funny."
He would just stare at you for a while with an annoyed expression before his face suddenly perks up into a smile.
"Oh I see, you're just confused! It must have been confusing awaking from such a long nap. Here, why don't we go on a walk to clear your mind?" The cookie would take your hand and start taking you for a walk. He didn't wait for your input.
"No, you don't understand. I have no recollection of you."
He'd only hum while cheerfully walking.
"I don't even know your name."
"Yes you do~" he would chime, still wearing that deranged smile.
"I do not-" you would snatch your hand out from his grasp and stop walking.
"..." He wouldn't say anything to you, only stare at the ground. His smile feel instantly in that moment.
"You really don't remeber... do you?" He asked you, not bothering to turn towards you.
"I don't."
He sighed before finnaly facing his body towards yours, though, he just couldn't bring himself to meet your gaze.
"Shadow Milk Cookie. That's my name. We used to be close but.." he paused before sighing. "I guess you forgot about all us!" He would have a crazed smile on his face.
"Look, I'm sorry that I don't remeber you, but there really isn't anything I can do about it,"
Shadow Milk would laugh before finnaly meeting your eyes. He would stare deeply into your eyes, that smile never leaving his face.
"Oh, but there is! Don't worry, dove, I'll make sure you remeber. Just stay still..." He would take one of your hands and begun to spin you around.
"Hey! what are you-" Shadow Milk would stop spinning you and put a finger over your mouth, shushing you.
"It's okay doll, I'll take care of you. Just let me guide you, all right?" He gave you an annoying grin, to which you glared at, but ultimately said nothing to.
"Ah yes, this is how I remeber it. You always were so obedient." He would step behind you and place both of his hands on your shoulders.
"You may not remeber me, but I remember everything about you," he would whisper into your ear.
You'd tense up, feeling his breath on your neck.
"Yeah, this is how you would always react. You really haven't changed..."
Shadow Milk Cookie would step back infront of you and trace his cold fingers along your facial features.
"And your face is the same as well." He had a ore faraway look in his eyes, as if he were reliving some other moment. He never let his smile falter though.
"Shadow Milk... were we really close?" You would ask him.
He couldn't help but snicker.
"Oh yes, soooo close."
"..."
"Want me to show you how close?" He held onto your chin, making you look towards him.
"Your answer doesn't really matter. I would have done this anyway."
Shadow Milk closed his eyes and pressed his lips against yours. It was a short kiss, but one full of longing.
"You have no idea how much I've been craving you. It was torture being away from you for so long. You can't expect me to let you go just because you forgot some things~"
A twinge of pink would dash your cheeks from the prior kiss. It should have felt forced and strange yet... there was a feeling of familiarity that made it feel nice.
"Oh how I've missed your cute, silly, blushing faces! There must have been a part of you that liked it then! Maybe I can make you remeber after all."
Shadow Milk would hold onto your wrist and begin walking with you again.
He held that psychotic smile once more while staring into your eyes.
"But even if I can't make you remember, I certainly won't allow you to forget."
Fin~

................................................................................................................
He looks handsome and he’s getting on her nerves. She looks beautiful and he still doesn’t think it’s a good idea for her to go to this. She knows he doesn’t think it’s a good idea for her to go to this, but she thinks that’s bullshit, kid gloves that she doesn’t need from him, or from anyone for that matter.
He could, but he doesn’t tell her that her left eye is twitching a little bit. Her left eye is twitching a little bit, she blinks hard every time she feels muscle starting to spasm, keeps her face turned away from him and toward the passenger side window.
“What is it?”
“What?”
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong.”
“You keep sighing.”
“I’m just tired.”
“It’s ten in the morning.”
“It’s been a long week.”
“It’s Sunday.”
“I meant last week then.”
“Are you taking those multivitamins I got you?”
“Uh, yeah.”
“I checked the bottle this morning and the safety seal is still on it.”
“Cass.”
“What?”
“I don’t think a multivitamin is going to be the thing that makes me feel less tired.”
“I hate it when you say my name like that.”
“Okay, how should I say it?”
“Nevermind.”
“What?”
“It’s fine, okay? Let’s just drop it, I don’t want to start the day like this.”
“We’re not starting the day like anything, we’re just having a conversation.”
“Joel, please, I’m not doing this with you right now.” And he asks it before he can think much about it, knee-jerk and maybe a little mean, did you take your pills this morning?  Right, going for the nuclear option this morning, she lets out a clipped sound that could be a laugh if it wasn’t so sharp and he wishes there were a way to pluck words out of the air and swallow them back down. And she knows that whatever she says to that is going to be a failure. If she gets angry, if she blows up, she’s crazy. If she informs him that she did, in fact, take her pills, then she’s a liar, because she did, in fact, not take her pills, so she’s even crazier, right.
“You know, that’s a fucked thing to ask me.” Ring the bell because she’s won this round. He thinks about offering her an apology, a glance while they’re stopped at a red light that only affords him the slope of her cheek and her hair tucked behind her ear with the way her face is turned away from him. He sighs and it makes her shoulders hike up a little higher.
There’s a spiral of pink balloons wrapped around the porch banister when they pull up, and of course there is a spiral of pink balloons wrapped around the porch banister, she thinks, because Tommy and Maria are having a girl, and that’s lovely, and she is going to smile when she gets out of the car because of how lovely that is. Already thinking about what her face will have to do to make that smile happen while he parks at the end of the driveway because they’re a little late, always a little late these days. At least they have a clear and present escape route, he thinks.
“Here, let me.” He does, stays still while she runs her fingers up behind the collar of his shirt to smooth it down, and she thinks that she’s not the only one trying to buy a little more time. Made it out of the car, but still standing in front of the car, he has always liked the feeling of her palms splayed over his chest, hums and thanks her for fixing his collar, leans in for a quick smacking thing of a kiss that she gives back to him all ease, and he thinks that maybe they’ll get to be normal today.
“Remind me again what we got them?”
“Bottle warmer and a set of swaddling blankets.”
“What, they can’t use hot water from the tap like everyone else?” That gets him a clipped laugh from her, and he knows he’s bordering on something tender that could snap and snarl if he says any more, so he takes the laugh and leaves it at that. She laughs, feels stupid for the heat that thickens and closes in behind it and hides the flush from him by collecting the gifts from the trunk. Pastel pink and perfect wrapping paper with thin ribbon curled and bouncing. She briefly considers how it would feel to rip it all to pieces. But no, none of that, because this is Tommy and Maria, and she loves Tommy and Maria, really, she does, so happy for Tommy and Maria. Happy, happy, happy.
Maria is the one who opens the door, all smiles, all round because she made it to the third trimester. He glances at Cass as they enter into the usual greetings and congratulations, leaning hugs and Tommy somewhere in the fray. Cassandra thinks she’s doing a good job of smiling but she can’t really feel her mouth, letting her lungs collapse a little when Tommy pulls her in for a quick squeeze, hey, Cassie, good to see you. And maybe it’s the lack of pills in her system but is he? Is it? Verging a little close to hostage negotiator territory? Talking to her like she’s a skittish horse? Because, apparently, it’s not just Joel, but the whole clan who seems to expect her to have a hard time with this. His and Tommy’s parents smile and pet at her shoulders when they see her, that same so good to see you, as if they didn’t just see her a month ago for the fourth of July barbecue, as if she’s the one who’s–
“I appreciate y’all being here, I know Maria does too.” Everyone in the backyard even though it’s already pushing eighty degrees, linen dresses and blue jeans and fluted glasses filled with orange juice and something a little stiffer. He squints at Tommy, nods, of course, lets his eyes drift out over mingling friends and family, settling on Cass. She’s smiling, mouth moving around easy words in a small cluster of women. Her arm is curled across her stomach, elbow held in hand, drink held aloft. She is doing fine, he thinks, good. And of course she’s doing fine, everything fine, and he’s fine too. Her eyes catch his and her smile stays, and he feels one of his own, there and gone. They are doing fine.
“Is Cass, you know, doing alright?”
“Oh yeah, she’s doing fine.”
She can feel sweat starting to collect along the waistband of her underwear, a cool, nauseous shiver, so terrible running beneath the skin. Someone, she can’t remember the name, a friend of Maria’s, is saying something about tits. Well, she doesn’t use the word tits, no, that word couldn’t come out of her baby pink painted lips. Breasts, and Cassandra curls her lips back into her mouth to stop herself from offering up mammary glands, if you want to be so proper about it, smiling and mmhmming instead about stretch marks and leakage and sore, seaming skin. Not that she’d know anything about it, not really. But all the other women do, something close to sharing war stories, all the space the body can make, and what remains when it’s empty once again. Now that, empty, she knows a thing or two about empty.
“You hear from Sarah lately?”
“You wanna know what I hear from her? Is mom there? And then can you put her on?” Tommy laughs, continuing to make quick work out of carving up another watermelon, pink, pink, pink while Joel enjoys a second to breathe in the air conditioned kitchen. Almost eleven, and they’re going to do cake at almost eleven, and he supposes he doesn’t really know what the etiquette is for things like these so sure, he thinks, cake at almost eleven.
“I guess dad’s advice can only work for so long, huh?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“She’s a freshman in college, man, you don’t remember what we were like at that age?”
“I’d rather not, thanks.” And the truth is he remembers very little of that time. Playing at boy king, at living forever, and then the flashbang burst and bloom, obliteration and letting the shrapnel boomerang back together when Sarah came. And then, he thinks, back out on the porch and squinting at the sun threaded through the branches of an elm tree, then, it was a sort of crawl in those first few years.
What he remembers, very little eye contact from anyone, and wanting it more than anything. Never expecting the father to be the one to stay, the very young, very bleary-eyed father who eventually learned to stop looking for other eyes to meet his. Yes, a crawl, kept his head down until one day, two-year-old in tow in the grocery store, looking at pouches of pureed sweet potatoes and peaches, someone ducked her head down alongside his, looked him in the eye, and asked him if it was his wallet she found at the end of the aisle. For the record, it wasn’t his, but he can’t remember who it got returned to any more. That Tina Turner song was playing over the speakers, he remembers that. What’s love got to do with it, what’s love got to do with a HEB on a Wednesday night? Just enough for him to keep going to the HEB on Wednesday nights, hoping to run into the woman who looked him in the eye and told him his daughter was beautiful and had his smile.
“How many do you and Joel have, Cassandra?” Must have been smiling and nodding a little too well to get that question from Sally, Sammy? She doesn’t know. She doesn’t care. Maria needs better friends, she thinks, or maybe just less of them for her to keep track of.
“Oh, just one. Sarah started college this year actually.” And the usual sequence of snobbery that follows her sharing that detail. Yes, had her very young, yes, must be so proud, and she is proud, she can mean that yes, at least.
“But she’s not yours, is that right?”
“Excuse me?” Excuse you, Sally, Sammy, whoever the fuck you are. Excuse you in your baby blue linen dress and your fuckass bob. Sally, Sammy, whoever the fuck she is, eats her words fast, quick flickers of french tips and well, I just mean, not yours biologically, you know, I think Maria mentioned something about you adopting her when you and Joel got married. Said with that pitch that winches higher and higher with each word like a question going nowhere. She clasps her hands behind her back and digs her nails into the soft of her palms until the urge to throttle Sally, Sammy, whoever the fuck she is passes.
“Yeah, well, she’s not mine in that way. But I’ve been in her life since she was two so, I think that matters a little more than if she slid out of my vagina.” Shit, slipped, should not have said that, gets a glossed gasp from the peanut gallery and she’s just glad Maria is off hostessing with other people right now, not bearing witness to the way she just slaughtered this conversation with the sharp of her words. Excuse her Sally, Sammy, whoever the fuck you are, and excuse her, all the rest of you, she needs to get out of the heat, out of the sun, out of whatever this is.
He knows what looks mean what by now. A pinched brow, a frown that’s just barely a frown. She breezes past the kitchen with one hand pressed high against her stomach as if to make sure the rise and fall is still happening. Says her name once and she waves a hand behind her, already halfway down the hall and not turning around now,  sorry, just need the bathroom. Tommy’s eyes do that thing, that softening, slipping thing, looking at him and not asking the question, though it hangs in the air somewhere between them. He excuses himself, walks slowly enough that the bathroom door is already shut and locked by the time he gets to it. The faucet is running, all he hears when he says her name again, feeling like a perfect fool knocking on the door. Not the first time this has happened, and she feels more foolish every time it does. But he’s already asked her if she’s taken her pills today so at the very least, that question is out of the way. Or maybe he’ll ask it again, and maybe she’ll break something, and then report back to her OB-GYN who, for some reason, is the one prescribing her these pills, and tell her OB-GYN that she’s getting crazier and needs more pills that she’ll forget to take. Repeat ad nauseam. No, she thinks, too tired for any of that, two years too tired. She presses her fingers into her temples and closed eyes until the throb in her skull begins to still.
“Do you want to go home?” He doesn’t know how to handle this, not really. Seems to get it wrong more often than not, and sometimes his own frustration turns into meanness that makes it worse, he knows that. He doesn’t know how to deal with her any more, she knows that. The truth is she doesn’t even know how to deal with herself any more, everything always raw and hurting, blistered brain and aching heart and wilting like a frail, flimsy thing. She does alright keeping it tamped down most of the time, keeping it cool and closed off. But, there are times when it flares, like a thin flume of disease nested somewhere deep inside of her. During things like these, around people like these, and the month of April, forget about it.
“I said something a little awful, I think.” Sheepish, the door still only cracked, enough that he can see that she isn’t crying so, little lift of relief in his chest, at least.
“What’s that?” He slips in through the half-opened door and she lets him, shuts the door behind him and tells him, may have snapped, may have used the word vagina. It’s a relief to hear him laugh, a single breath of it like he’s not sure if he should. He touches her hand, her wrist, her elbow, little pulse points, half a tired smile.
“There are worse words to use.”
“Could have said cunt.” She shrugs and you’d think he’d have gotten used to her surprising him like that after sixteen years together, but it’s still a giddy little shock to the system, her brass and brash. Like another vital sign, so long as she has her fang she’s fine, at least he thinks so.
“Yeah, that.” He laughs again, coughs, heat flushing down fast in his face and there’s a quick kick in her chest at the sight, something dormant getting stirred up. She likes that look, coaxing that look out of him. The first time, way out of line and out of place, she thinks. Fresh out of college and buying condoms and pretzel rods at the HEB down the block from her apartment and she shouldn’t have, pretty guy, man, father with pretty brown eyes and a little girl in the seat of his shopping cart with pretty brown eyes like his and she shouldn’t have. Thought she was so smooth, pretending like the wallet she showed him wasn’t hers, like she had found it on the linoleum floor, yeah, so smooth, just looking for a reason to shuffle down the baby food aisle and talk to pretty guy, man, father. That same flush, that same smile, little shock, though he had caught her too, taking a sharp glance down at her basket before she could tuck it behind her legs. And then her turn, little shock when he made some joke about little late for me, for that, shrug and smile and yes, she thinks, she didn’t exactly love him right then and there, but whatever comes right before love, it was that.
“Listen, if it’s getting to be too much for you we can–” Wrong, all wrong, sound in the back of her throat like a scoff that’s how wrong those words were.
“Why does everyone seem to think this is too much for me? It’s a fucking baby shower, not a, I don’t even know what. I’m fine, it’s fine. It’s Tommy’s and Maria’s day and I’m so happy for them that they’re having a–” It catches her off guard, the way the sound gets stuck in her throat, not quite a sob, but verging on it, hiccuping out the rest, a baby. He reaches for her arm again but she jerks it away, hands clasping opposite elbows, all tucked in on herself.
“It’s okay if it’s not fine, you know, nobody is expecting you to–”
“Nobody is expecting me to keep it together, right?”
“Would you let me finish speaking?” No, never winning any points for patience, ever. Not too many for thinking before he speaks either. Her face crumples for a breath, if that, smoothing back out with a scoff, I’m so sorry, Joel, what were you going to say? No, not normal, not today. He wonders briefly how long they’ve been in the bathroom now, and whether they’ve been speaking loudly enough to draw attention to the fact of how long they’ve been in the bathroom now.
“You know what, forget it. If you say you’re fine then I guess you’re fine. Can we just get through fucking cake and leave, please?” She’s very good at this, at turning herself off, something cool and distant slipping over her eyes, her face, shoulders rolled back sharp. Of course, she says, whatever you say, she says, doesn’t give him another glance as she opens the bathroom door.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I wasn’t standing here long, just waiting to use the–”
“Cunt.”
“I’m sorry?”
“Cut– I had a cut and I needed Joel to look at it but I’m fine, right, Joel? Aren’t I fine?” She doesn’t give him a chance to answer that, doesn’t give Sally, Sammy, whoever the fuck she is a chance to say any more either, already moving past both of them and back toward the sound of laughter and cake, fucking cake about to happen.
He needs to keep his mouth shut, all he can figure. Keep his mouth shut and maybe, maybe, they’ll get through fucking cake without any more seams splitting. Nothing like this when Sarah came, no balloons, no perfectly frosted and tiered cake with a whole cluster of people around it, and he thinks briefly that maybe he’s the one who isn’t fine being here. Like an ache, or an absence, a place inside of him that has been scooped out and left empty. He doesn’t let himself get sad about it often, mostly because he’s too busy being angry about it with (at?) Cass. But he feels it now, a sinking, swimming feeling that weighs everything down, slow to smile when Maria hands him a plate with a slice of cake on it.
She takes a plate and pushes around globs of pink icing with her fork for a while, standing in another cluster of people she doesn’t really know, one of the women commenting on how good she’s being when she sets her plate down on the kitchen counter, smile and laugh, though the truth is she’s not sure she could stomach pretty pink icing right now. A small mercy when Tommy steps over alongside her and effectively relieves her of having to continue pretending to be interested in a conversation about kitchen remodels.
“Looking a little green, Cassie, you alright?”
“I think the heat got to me, but I’ll survive. Congratulations again, you guys are going to be great, really.” And she hopes he interprets the pitch, the little catch of her words as a good emotion that is entirely for him and his family. Not anything else, not anything that would be entirely ridiculous and well, crazy, on her part.
“I just want to say thank you again for giving us all that furniture, and the clothes, we really–”
“Oh of course, Tom, you did us a favor taking all that stuff. It’s not like we were going to–” Going to what? She doesn’t finish that sentence, and Tommy doesn’t need her to, already nodding, already that look in his eyes that she has come to recognize as thinly-concealed pity. Not like they were ever going to have a use for that furniture, those clothes, not again, not after. A foreclosed room in their house that stayed as silent and shut up as a tomb, and then the happy, happy, happy news from Tommy and Maria and of course, they said, take whatever you want, take it all, actually. The room is empty now. The door stays closed.
He wants to leave and he wants to leave now. The walls creeping in closer and that hollow thing in between his ribs starting to ache and twinge. He catches her eyes from across the room and it takes little else for a knowing to pass between them, both of them already moving, already starting a string of polite goodbyes, friends and family, sorry, yes, really have to go, it’s becoming hard to breathe, really have to go.
Early in the afternoon and the sun so bright it makes him a little dizzy when they step outside. He follows the sound of her heels on the sidewalk back to the car, relief in the closing of the door, in settling into the driver’s seat.
She feels like her brain is deflating in her skull. Enough normal for the day, don’t ask her for any more than that. She props her head in her hand and lets her eyes unfocus, turning the suburban streets they're driving through into pale blurs of minivans and basketball hoops. And there is little fanfare to what happens next, she glances at him once, then looks out the window, hears a metallic clink, and when she looks at him again, there’s a cigarette dangling from his lips. It’s so absurd, so out of nowhere, that she has to laugh.
“Since when do you smoke?”
“I don’t know. Tommy’s a bad influence.”
“Tommy quit.”
“Well then I did him a favor finishing off all his packs.”
“Joel.”
“Yes?”
“How did I miss you picking up smoking again?”
“It’s not like I do it around the house, I know you don’t like the smell.”
“Oh, but you’re happy to trap me in the car with it?”
“The windows are down.”
“Secondhand smoke.”
“Would you prefer to get out at the next red light?”
“You know, you’re probably gonna die before me. Then what the fuck am I supposed to do?”
“What the fuck is wrong with you?”
“I’m serious. Statistically speaking, men die first–”
“I wonder why.”
“Cardiac events.”
“That tracks.”
“You’re already two years older than me and now you’re doing shit like this and I’m probably gonna be like, sixty-eight and a widow, and then I’ll die of stress from being a sixty-eight-year-old widow.”
“Are you done?”
“Oh fuck you–”
“Hey.”
“No, what next, huh? Are you gonna ask me if I took my pills again?”
“Well, did you?”
“That’s not the point.”
“Jesus Christ, Cass, it’s like you don’t even want to get better, you don’t even try.” Silence, she doesn’t fire back, doesn’t make a sound, her lips parted around a wordless frown. The only noise is the turn signal clicking as he pulls into a gas station, his heart sunk down low in his chest, shrinking back in on itself. Too far, too mean, and not even knowing what he was saying until he said it, until she was looking at him in a devastated crumple.
He parks beside a pump but doesn’t get out, doesn’t move at all, really. Waiting. For what, he isn’t sure. When he looks at her again, that stricken look is gone, something slackening, something tired settled in its place.
“Do you remember when you stopped shaving and you asked me if your beard looked stupid and I told you it didn’t?”
“Uh, yes.”
“I lied. Your beard does look stupid.” And with that, she’s out of her seat, out of the car, and clipping fast toward the convenience store, not sparing him another look. He doesn’t know whether to laugh or scream.
The light flickers a little in the convenience store bathroom when she flips it on, locking the door behind her just as the first sob shudders up and out of her throat. She doesn’t look in the mirror, she has no use for that, just grips the edge of the sink and allows herself this, a few minutes to get the worst of it out.
He had finished pumping gas ten minutes ago when she comes back out with a bottle of snapple lemonade tucked under her arm. She has been crying, he can see. He doesn’t know why she always hides it from him. It catches him off guard when she walks around the front of the car to stand in front of his rolled-down window, something bordering on sheepish in the set of her expression, her eyes doing a quick loop from her feet back up to him.
“I didn’t mean that.”
“Okay.”
“I don’t think your beard is stupid.”
“Okay.”
“I like it, think you look handsome with it.”
“Honey, will you get in the car, please?” She does, offers him the bottle of lemonade and they both take a swig, waiting for whatever words are supposed to come next. A car honks at them, still at the pump, and he has enough sense to wave an apology behind his head and pull over into a parking spot instead.
“I’m sorry for what I said. Cass? That was a stupid thing for me to say. I didn’t mean that.” She wants to say no, not a stupid thing to say, not unfair, not really. But that would be an admission she doesn’t want to make, so she nods, accepts his apology, both of them having a hard time looking at the other, suddenly so interested in the brick wall of the convenience store.
“We can’t keep doing this.” She doesn’t realize how much she means that until she’s done saying it. Finally saying it, this truth they have been scrapping and snapping around for months now. He says, no, we can’t, and she braces for impact, anticipating the worst, the nuclear option, and she wouldn’t blame him for it. But that blow doesn’t come. He takes her hand over the center console, as simple as anything, and she is reminded again of how much she loves him.
“Something has to change.”
“I think so.”
“We can figure this out, can’t we?”
“It’s us.” As if that’s an answer, though he still nods, repeats it back to her, it’s us. It’s them. They can’t keep doing this. They have to change. They can figure this out, can’t they?

What Do We Call This? - 02
Tumblr media
previous || mini masterlist || next
Pairing: Trafalgar Law x fem!reader
Summary: On a quest to find what you've been looking for, you acquire the help of the Straw Hat pirates, who've agreed to let you temporarily join them. There are however many challenges that come along with your temporary recruitment - an alliance with a certain Trafalgar Law being one of them.
Word Count: 2.1K
Warnings: fluff, angst, kinda slow burn, mild swearing, the occasional OP spoiler
A/N: Okay, not gonna lie, this chapter turned out better than I expected it to be, so I hope you like it too. Also, I still don't know what to call this =_=.
In addition, I would just like to state that while the reader does have her own story, a large portion of the chapters won't really dive into it; maybe a flashback here and there and brief mentions of it. It will obviously be brought up towards the end, but this series will kinda focus more on how she builds her relationship with Law.
—☆✿☆—
Things hadn't changed much since the captain of the Heart Pirates and the two samurai had come on board - the chaos still the same. You would even say things had become far more chaotic. The Heart Pirate however, seemed to have grown frustrated with the group in less than a days time, confining himself to the library whenever he could. You would only see him for breakfast, lunch and dinner and even then he would leave as soon as he was done.
The rest of the crew seem to see him more often; they always know what he's doing. Then again, he doesn't really need to interact with me since his alliance is with the Straw Hats, not me, you try to reason with your own thoughts as you help Sanji in the kitchen. Since you had boarded the Sunny you spent most of your time in the kitchen with Sanji, helping him with the daily meal prep. Although, he would insist that your presence was all the help he needed, and while others may have found his constant declarations of love tiresome, you found it quite entertaining. Alternatively, you would spend your time with Nami and Robin, learning cartography and studying about past civilizations. It was under the pretext of expanding your knowledge, but you had a slight personal interest in the subjects as well, which Nami and Robin had caught on to.
"(Y/N)," the voice of the ship's doctor snaps you out of your thoughts, and you turn from the kitchen counter, to see him sticking his head out from behind the door. You smile fondly at Chopper; the little reindeer had melted your heart the minute you had laid eyes on him, and just like Robin you couldn't help but soften any time he spoke to you.
"Do you want me to change your bandages now?" Chopper asks, as he looks from you to your arm.
"Oh right! I'll come right away," you say, remembering that earlier on in the day you had asked Chopper whether he could help you change your bandages. You place the knife that you were using on the counter and follow Chopper to the infirmary, Sanji crying out for you to stay as you leave the kitchen.
"How does it feel?" Chopper asks as you seat yourself on the bed while he rummages around looking for some gauze wrap.
"A lot better! The medication definitely helped."
Chopper seats himself infront of you, and he helps you remove the bandage that you had already started to take off. He then asks you to outstretch your arm so that he can examine it.
"Thanks for doing this Chopper. If it had been my left arm instead I wouldn't have had to ask you for your help," you try to distract him from inspecting your arm for too long, and pick up the gauze, attempting to wrap it around your arm yourself.
"I'm glad I can help," Chopper says as he takes the roll from you to wrap it for you instead. Just then the door to the infirmary bursts open, and you're startled not by the noise but by the person standing on the other side. Law leans against the door frame as he assess the situation, and his eyes once again linger on your right arm.
What is he doing here?
"What happened to her arm?" Law asks Chopper, his eyes now focusing on the reindeer who's as surprised as you are.
"Oh, (Y/N) tripped while everyone was running from that gas and sprained her arm," Chopper says, returning to his task of wrapping the gauze around your arm.
Truth be told, you hadn't been completely honest when you had told the Straw Hats about your devil fruit powers. You had told them that your powers allowed you to manipulate others' muscles and internal organs, granting you the ability to both damage and heal others, and that was the truth. However, what you had chosen to leave out was the repercussions you suffered on using your power - be it healing or inflicting injury onto someone, you would suffer damages to the same organ or muscle to a more severe extent. Why had you not told the Straw Hats about this? You felt indebted to them. They had allowed you onto their ship despite the fact that on your first encounter you had been tasked with the job of killing them, but they had chosen to forgive and forget and you would always be grateful to them for it. So, you didn't want then to feel guilty any time they asked you to help them with their injuries.
"Tripped?" Law says, but it sounds more like a question, and you offer him a brief smile as he eyes you skeptically.
"Yes, I tripped," you firmly state, in hopes of putting an end to this discussion.
"Oh Law, (Y/N) is also a devil fruit user," Chopper says, going on to explain how your powers work, or at least how he was told they work. Through the whole explanation you can feel Law's eyes on you, and you feel uncomfortable under his gaze, it's almost like he's looking right into you and figuring out every small detail about you.
"But her powers don't allow her to heal herself, which isn't great considering how clumsy she is," Chopper teases, and you let out a small chuckle. So far, you had made all the damage you had taken look like accidents, covering them up with fibs about tripping over your own feet or rolling off your bed.
Law doesn't say anything in response to Chopper's monologue, instead approaching you with a sense of purpose. Before you can even protest he has his blue orb surrounding you, holding his sword in front of you.
"Scan."
"Oye Law what are you doing!?" Chopper yells, as he jumps out of his seat to come between you and Law. After what had happened with the kids in Punk Hazard, Chopper had become slightly wary of Law's powers. He knew he wouldn't hurt you, but his ability still perturbed the reindeer.
The blue orb faded and Law looked from you to Chopper, "tripping, shouldn't have caused such severe damage to her muscle," he says to Chopper while taking your arm in his hands to examine it himself.
You pull away from him almost immediately, the slight jerk causing you to grimace at the pain. "It was a hard fall," you say, as you hastily get up and walk to the door.
"I need to get back to the kitchen and help Sanji. Thanks for the help Chopper." You offer him a smile and quickly walk out of the infirmary before either of the two can say anything, leaving behind one doctor puzzled and the other intrigued.
Shit, I'll have to be more cautious now that he's around.
_______________________________________________
In an attempt to be more cautious you had decided avoiding Law would be the best option, which you thought would be easy considering he spent most of his time in the library. But now he seemed to be everywhere you were. If you were in the kitchen helping Sanji, he would be there. If you were cleaning the deck, he would be there. And all he did was scrutinize you, no words were exchanged, just him staring which made it all the more frustrating. The only time you were free from him was when you were on the night watch - away in the crow's nest with one of the Straw Hats to keep you company - just like tonight, except your lookout partner hadn't shown up yet. It had been an hour and no one had come, and the lack of constant conversing was making you drowsy.
It's the light tapping against the floorboard of the deck below you that perks you up, and you peep your head through the window to call out your night watch partner for being late.
"Luffy it's been an hour! What took you so lon-," you cut yourself off when from the corner of your eye you see a faint blue light appear in the room, and you turn around immediately, pulling out the knife that you had secured around your waist at all times.
You relax when you realise that it's just Law. But, then you realise it's Law.
"Sorry, I was reading something and didn't notice the time," Law's words don't sound like much of an apology with how he says it in a monotonous tone, but it doesn't phase you. You're more bothered by the fact that he's here instead of Luffy, and he senses it.
"Straw Hat-ya argued that I need to help the crew. So, he made me take his shift."
You roll your eyes as you take your previous place on the floor. You had been on the Sunny long enough to know that Luffy's incessant nagging could make people give in to any of his requests, but you hadn't expected Law to fall victim to it too.
You take the book from beside you, Forgotten Islands, and pick up from where you had left off. However, you find it hard to concentrate with the way Law's staring.
"Maybe you should keep watch from the deck."
"How do your powers work?" he asks, completely ignoring your suggestion.
"What?" you ask, surprised by the sudden question.
"Your devil fruit, how does it make?"
"Chopper told you - I can manipulate the muscles and organs of others," you say, giving him the short answer, and hoping that he would take a hint and realise that you didn't want to dive into the semantics.
"How?"
Clearly he didn't.
"When it comes to healing I need to place my hand over the area where the organ or muscle is, focus on it and channel my energy towards it to get the desired result. When attacking it's easier, I need to concentrate on my opponent, visualise the muscle or organ, and use hand gestures and verbal commands to cause damage," you say, as you set your book down, waiting for the inflow of questions that you were sure were to follow.
"So with those children on Punk Hazard, you couldn't heal them?" Law now sits across from you, arms folded over his chest and head bent down, his katana placed against the wall beside him.
"My power doesn't allow me to physically remove damaged parts or remove infections from those parts, I can only repair them. So, curing something like a disease that affects a person's genetic predisposition is impossible."
"And there are no side effects?"
"No, I just feel drowsy," you're quick to respond, and Law looks at you with a hint of suspicion. You can see the wheels turning in his head as he tries to think of what to ask next, but you've decided you don't want to give out any more information.
"Enough about me. Why are you so keen on taking down Doflamingo? He's not a Yonko, and I don't see how this whole S.M.I.L.E thing affects you." There's a genuine curiosity behind your question, although in the back of your mind you have a vague idea of what his answer might be.
"Fixing past mistakes," Law says, his lips contorting into a small sinister smile.
"What mistakes?"
"Someone died because they were protecting me from Doflamingo."
"That's not your fault. He chose to protect you," you say with such conviction, Law's surprised by how you sound so sure of yourself. In all honesty, he doesn't even know why he's telling you all of this, he's not one to readily open up about his past.
"And now I'm repaying the favour."
"Doflamingo isn't just some pirate. You could get yourself killed in the process."
"That's a risk I'm willing to take." He says it so nonchalantly, it annoys you how little he seems to care for his own wellbeing.
"If I had put my life on the line for someone, I wouldn't want that someone to die at the hands of the same person I was trying to protect them from." You're trying to reason with him, but you can't stop yourself from glowering.
"I guess you and I have different morals then," he says as he looks up at you with a scowl of his own. Frankly, he doesn't know why you seem to care so much for someone you just met, and it irks him that you do.
"I guess so."
You let out a scoff as you get up from your seat on the floor and walk to the ladder that is used to enter and exit the observation deck. Another second in this room would only swell your frustration towards the pirate.
"I'll keep watch from the deck. Call me if you need anything," and you climb down the ladder without waiting for Law to say anything.
Your earlier decision to stay clear of Law would have to be scrapped. If he was ready to get himself killed on Dressrosa, you would have to make sure he didn't.

Ryd and N Side by Steve Lacy make me think of Dom (specifically in college)
oh college!dom is a continuous thought, like meeting him at a frat party (bc i can only imagine what greek life at cmu is like, bc my small tiny university's greek life is WILD) and like maybe he's in your bio lecture or something so you know he's around and you think he's super cute but you've never actually spoken bc there's like 60 people in your bio lecture but anyway, you see him at this frat party and you lock eyes from across the room and you hold his gaze for longer than you might've usually, but you had a beer in your hand and you were feeling pretty good so your confidence was somewhere else
and he starts to cross the room, obviously coming over to you, and your friend grabs your arm "holy shit!" and you're like "wuh??" and she goes "is that dominic sessa?" "who?" you ask, like doubly like who are you talking about? and who is dominic sessa? and your friend goes "the guy in the flannel shirt walking this way, he's an actor, and he's really good, and he's super hot, but i didn't think he was back on campus yet—" "oh, a theater student, whatever" you scoff and your friend is QUICK to correct you "no, dude, he was in a movie that was nominated for an oscar. he's got like a bafta or something, he's famous!" and at about that moment, dom approaches you, and you see that he has his own red plastic cup in his hand, his dab pen in the other, flannel and wolf tshirt and dirty white sneakers and messy hair, and he's so smooth and easy "you're in my bio lecture, right?" he asks and your friend about dies "uh, yeah" you nod, aware of your friend's heart attack happening as she grips your arm "you're... i know your name, i swear, you sit towards the back of the hall..." "i do" he says "you sit in the front row" "i do" you echo "sorry, it's, ah, not coming to me... i've had a little bit to drink" "no sweat" he chuckles easily "i'm dom" "that's right" you nod and you quickly tell him your name and introduce your friend, and dom nods and smiles at her, but he's focused on you the whole time (specifically your lips, and you're so glad your friend talked you into wearing lipstick and actually dressing up for the party) "you wanna go outside?" dom asks "i wanna smoke, and i can't really hear myself think in here" "sure" you nod, and your friend smiles at you and takes the hint "oh, i think see my friend over there! i'm gonna go say hi!" and leaves you and dom to navigate through the cramped house party and out to the front porch of the frat house, where it's significantly quieter and cooler than inside
"that's better" and he sinks into one of the fabric patio chairs, taking a pull on his pen, and when he speaks, the smoke curls off his lips in a way that makes your back stiffen "nothing against kid cudi, but..." and you laugh and occupy the chair across from him "do you live on campus?" and you nod "barton hall" (listen i KNOW cmu doesn't have a dorm called barton, dON'T YELL AT ME) and dom scoffs "what?! i'm not a freshman, barton isn't just a freshman dorm, it's just mostly a freshman dorm" "no, no, that's not why i'm laughing" dom chuckles "i, uh... the high school i went to was a boarding school, and the dorm i lived in senior year was called barton" "oh wow" and you lean forward with the intention of hearing him better, but he starts to pass you his pen "oh, no thanks" "cool" he mumbles "what's your major?" and you tell him, trying to reel in your geeky overexplanation of your field of study, whatever it may be, and he laughs his goofy little gasping laugh "wow, that's awesome" "what about you?" you ask, and he sorta goes a little red "acting" he says "theater, performance art, whatever you wanna call it..." "wow" you breath, and your friend's words circle in your head, how he allegedly won a bafta ("or something") and you decide to play it cool— you're sure millions of girls fawn over him every day for his work, and even though your ignorance is real, you don't want to give him the impression that you're only talking to him because of that (even though you're not) "what do you wanna do with that?" "see, that's the question" dom says "my granddad asks me that every time i see him, he doesn't get it, yknow? but that's what i wanna do— that's what i currently do, i just wanna understand the technique better and how to be a better actor" "currently?" you ask with confusion and dom bites his lip and lets it slowly release, obviously mulling over something in his head, but he doesn't answer you "you hungry?" he asks suddenly "i'm starving" and you shrug "i could eat" but his avoidance sets the mood for the rest of the night: he doesn't wanna talk about his job, so you won't
and you decide to walk to a nearby little joint, neither of you are in much state to drive and the buses stopped running for the night, and it's nice, just the two of you, sharing stories and getting to know each other, and he's a genuinely really great guy, pays attention to you when you talk and expresses excitement in stuff you're obviously interested in, he asks a question about your major and you're like "oh, that's like complicated, it gets into the technical weeds and shit of the field" and he shrugs "i'm an acting major. i'll never know that sorta stuff if you don't tell me. weed away" and like his hands are all over you, but in a nice way, hand pushed into your back pocket or arm around your shoulders, subtle signs to the guys you pass on the sidewalk there that, at least for that moment, you're his and when you get to the place, it's essentially a little hole in the wall, buzzy fluorescent lights and high tables and some tinny radio from the back playing rap music, and you order first, just a cheeseburger and fries and a coke, and dom gently pushes you aside before you can dig your card out of your pocket to pay and goes on with his order, looking at the menu sign, and he sorta scoffs "yeah, cheeseburger, fries... shit, why not, and a miller high life" and you get seated and you're playfully frowning at him "you didn't have to do that" "do what?" "pay for my food" and he shrugs "a gentleman can't just sit idly by and watch a pretty girl pay" "oh, is that what you are? a gentleman?" and you ball up the paper straw wrapper and lob it at him and he laughs "aren't i?" he asks "i suppose so" and you roll your eyes "but i doubt your judgement" "on what possible grounds?" and you eye the glass bottle of beer he's got in his grip "really??" "ok, y'know what, i have a valid argument" he starts and you playfully chastise him that no argument makes it ok to drink that shitty beer, and he goes "baby, they call it the champagne of beers for a reason!" and you register that he called you baby, but you don't comment on it "not valid, try again" and he sighs playfully "it's a joke i have with my-my uncle" and you notice the tripping over his words, but again you say nothing "do you have insta?" you ask, changing the subject, and dom swallows down a mouthful of miller "nah" he says quickly, and you get that sense of avoidance again, shaking his head "i've got snap, though" "well, let's get that, then" you tell him and start to grab your phone from your pocket "why? you wanna text me after tonight?" he asks with a smarmy little crooked smile "only to ask about our work for bio" you tease him
and you think the night's gonna be over after you eat, it's getting to be a little late, and he sorta takes your fingers in his as you leave the little joint, and he asks "you live on campus?" "you already asked me that" you say "i live in barton, remember?" "fuck, right" dom nods "got a roommate?" "yes" you nod, sensing what his next few questions will be "and she's part of the, like, catholic students association, so... might be best to go to your place" "oh, what?" dom asks "what would we do at your dorm that your catholic roommate wouldn't approve of?" and somehow his awkward big eyes and wolf tshirt and all sharp angles of the elbows and knees have totally disrupted your state of mind, because for once in your life, you're bold "i can think of a few things" you tell him, and dom tilts his head at you, that same crooked smile crossing his plush lips "name one" he says, and his finger touches your chin, keeping you from averting your gaze "alright" you say "i'd really really like your dick inside me, and i sorta don't think she'd appreciate that" "my place is good" dom says quickly, and you laugh as he whips an arm around your shoulders
and you get back to his place, a small apartment where he assures you that his flatmates are either gone or won't hear you, and you can hardly take in the sparse, college-boy decorating job in the front room before he's tugging you down the hall to a room with a little nametag taped to the door that says ANGUS TULLY in big, bold letters, and you start to comment that like?? is that his room?? that's not his name on the door?? but he's closing the door with his foot and kissing up on your neck before you can say anything, and you let yourself melt into his arms
he gently situates you on his bed and shucks off his flannel, and your hands fumble at his belt, and you groan a little "too dark, i can't see shit" and dom chuckles and leans over and flicks on his lamp, and your gaze follows his hand as it retracts from the nightstand, and you're met with the imposing feature of a large, silver, metal thing tucked behind his lamp, it's difficult to see from the angle you're at, but it's certainly there, and you furrow your eyebrows at it
and dom follows your eyes, and he sorta deflates, it's very obvious he had hoped that you wouldn't see the trophy, and he swallows hard "oh, um—" and you sit up a little to get a better look at the engraving on the base: DOMINIC SESSA - BEST YOUNG ACTOR, and in smaller font below it, CRITICS CHOICE AWARDS 2024
or something, as your friend had said. he didn't have a bafta, but he certainly had an award. you can tell that he's a little uncomfortable, his hands suddenly more fidgety than before, and you look back at him before you cup the back of his neck and pull him into a kiss, and he doesn't do anything weird, he kisses you completely normally, his hands smoothing down your hips and thighs to wrap your legs around his waist, and he breaks the kiss "fuck, m'sorry... i have to know what you're thinking about after you just saw that fucking thing"
and you sorta laugh "i'm thinking that i don't really care too much" you tell him "you're a cool guy, and i don't— i didn't recognize you when we first started talking, so... whatever, y'know? so what if my friend has an oscar?"
"first of all" and he steals a kiss and his hand slinks down to rub at you through your jeans "friend? i'm wounded, baby. and also, that's not an oscar, it's a critics choice award, they're two very different things—"
"whatever! i'm not a movie person!" you giggle "but why do you keep it on your bedside table? to impress all the girls you bring home?"
"well, you're the first" he says "are you impressed?"
"it's kinda freaking me out, to be honest" you tell him, and he huffs out a laugh
"we can put it away" he says and he gets up and grabs it like it's no big, and moves to his closet and puts it on a shelf before closing the door back "and it was there because my mom facetimed me last night and asked to see it, and i just didn't put it back"
and he comes back to you and starts to tug down your jeans while he kisses you, and he playfully whispers "you're all quiet now. want me to fix that for you?" "can you?" you ask him, and he smiles "i will" he says "if you tell me one thing" "which is?" and a flicker of something hints behind his eyes "you really didn't know who i was when i came up to you?" and you shake your head "you haven't seen the movie? or, like, even heard about me?" "wow, someone's got an ego suddenly" you scoff "i told you, i'm not a movie person. i haven't even seen that barbie movie that was really big last year" "oh, ok, hold on" he starts "i get not seeing my pretentious movie about grief and shit like that, it's not everyone's first choice, but barbie?! you haven't seen barbie?!" "dude, fuck off!" you giggle "do you wanna have sex or not?" "i do!" dom says quickly "but hand me my phone first" "why?" you ask, and feel around underneath you to where dom had discarded the stuff from his pockets, and you pass him his phone "i..." he starts, using both hands to type quickly, and your hands go to his belt, resuming the job you had started "am texting... ryan... and telling him about this..." "ryan...?" you ask "gosling" dom says casually and you look at him in confusion "he played ken?" and at your blank stare, he playfully sighs "you're killing me here, baby" "what're you telling him?" you ask, and dom tosses his phone aside "that i've got an absolute hottie in my bed right now" he says, going for your neck "and that she doesn't know who the fuck he is. you think i've got a big ego?" "well" you start, and his jeans come loose, and you push your hand in, past the band of his boxers, and you gently bite his bottom lip "guess you've got a reason, don't you?"

Summary: movie night with your friends turns steamy when your boyfriend has an idea.
Pairing: Steve Harrington x Female!Reader
Warnings: cockwarming, semi public acts of sex, unprotected p in v sex, car sex, biting, scratching, breeding kink.
AN - Happy Belated birthday @jamdoughnutmagician ❤️ I hope you enjoy my small gift to you and sorry it's so late 🫶
Tumblr media
It's movie night with your friends and your boyfriend. Your boyfriend gestures for you to come cuddle up on the seat with a blanket, adjusting you to sit in his lap.
This isn't uncommon with Steve. He's always been very touchy with you, and you settle in against him to watch the horror movie Eddie most likely picked.
You feel his rough palms on your thighs, pulling them apart so you're straddling him as they travel up your skirt to push your panties aside.
You make no movement or sign that anything is happening, knowing if you do, he'll stop. You can't stop stop the flush rising to your cheeks but hope the darkness of the room should make it unnoticeable.
You feel like you stop breathing as you feel his cock smack against your thigh as he releases it from his jeans, biting your lip to keep in the moan you want to let out.
Your eyes wander the room, checking nobody has noticed what's happening, and are happy to see them all focused on the film. You lean back to make the angle better for Steve, and he slides right in, like he belongs inside you.
"Now you behave baby and I'll fuck you so good in the back seat of my car. Might even let you cum." His breathe feels hot against your ear as he whispers to you.
You nod back, holding your tongue wanting to tell him you want to be his good girl.
"Good girl." He bites on your earlobe and then goes back to watching the movie as if nothing is happening.
You spend hours feeling so full of him with the burning need to have your womb filled so good in the way he only knows how.
His palms on your thighs feel like they're burning you in the best way possible as he kneads at your skin every so often, whispering to you about how good you are and how he can't wait to breed your cunt later.
You can barely pay attention to films playing and answer your friends' questions as if in a daze, hoping they don't notice your odd behaviour.
The night ends and Steve pulls you to his car, parked down the road and shoves you into the backseat. He's quick to get back inside you groaning at how good you feel around him.
"'S so good, Angel." He buries his face into your neck, fucking into you roughly and with a need that he only ever seems to display towards you.
You wrap your legs around him, adjusting your hips to pull him impossibly closer as he fucks up into your guts.
You meet each of his thrusts perfectly as you both chase your orgasm, wanting to come so badly after hours of teasing.
"I'm gonna come. Come for me." Steve moans against your skin as he speeds up.
You both fall over the edge together, your fingernails digging into his back through his shirt.
"Gonna fill you up, breed you so good honey." Steve bites into your neck as he rides you both through your orgasm. His thrusts pushing him cum deeper inside you.
"Please, please, please." You babble out, entering a blissful state, happy and knowing he'll take good care of his girl.

The grand return of Our Life Swap AU! Takes place when Baxter and MC are like 16. They are, as always, the silliest.
"How are you feeling, Baxter?"
"Great. Good. Thank you so much."
You bit back a grin as you buckled your seatbelt. Baxter, your best friend, had just gotten his wisdom teeth removed, and he was high as a kite. It was an unusual set of circumstances -- usually his parents didn't want him to have anything to do with yours, but they'd planned to be away on business when his dentist had insisted on having the procedure done, so Ma made the time to take him to his appointment.
"I'm fantastic," he said, pulling you away from your thoughts -- almost literally, with his hand firmly petting your hair.
You looked over at him, sitting next to you in the backseat of your mothers' old car. He'd sort of fallen into the seat, his usually prim and proper posture exchanged for what could most accurately be described as "jelly bones." His head was leaned as far back as it could go against the headrest, and he was gazing at you with so much adoration that you could barely stand it.
You liked him, as so much more than a friend. You liked talking to him, you liked spending time with him, you liked looking at him. And even as you watched him lurch forward and try unsuccessfully to spit the gauze out of his mouth, you thought you might have fallen in love with him.
"No no, Baxter, you have to keep that in your mouth," Ma said, looking at him through the rearview mirror as she pulled out of her parking space.
"Don't like it," he said, making motions that weren't unlike a cat trying to cough up a hairball. "Tastes funny."
"A little help here, kid?" Ma asked.
You put a gentle hand on Baxter's shoulder to push him back against the seat, and when that didn't work, you put your hand on his head. He let out a silly giggle when you pushed him back that way instead, and when he was seated properly again, he turned and smiled at you.
"You're so pretty," he said, smiling wider so you could see the gauze tucked in his cheeks.
"Thank you," you replied, hoping that you weren't blushing but taking solace in the fact that he probably wouldn't remember it if you were.
"You're my best friend," he continued. "And you're really really pretty."
With what seemed to be great effort, he lifted his head and peered up at Ma. When she didn't acknowledge him, he flopped back again, then leaned just a little towards you.
"Can you keep a secret?" he asked in a whisper that was somehow louder than his normal talking voice. You nodded, and he leaned in a little closer, then whispered, "I like you."
Before you could answer, he chose to elaborate, saying, "I mean to say that I like you as more than a friend. I like you in a romantic way. In a way that makes me want to be your boyfriend."
He held up a finger and did what you imagined he thought was a "come here" gesture, but was really just a strange little shake -- you knew him well enough to know what he wanted though, so you leaned in, heart racing.
"I have a crush on you," he said with his mouth by your ear.
You'd dreamed of him saying those words for years. This wasn't exactly how you thought it might happen -- he was slurring his words a bit, and the gauze made them come out a little garbled. He gave you another sweet smile, and a thick line of drool dripped down from his chin onto his shirt.
You weren't sure what to say, so you didn't say anything. You noticed Ma glance at you in the mirror, then she began engaging Baxter in a spirited conversation about bananas.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
By that night, Baxter had come down from the post-surgery high. He was spending a few days at your house, sleeping in your old room so you and your moms could keep an eye on him.
He had been taking a nap, but when you opened the door to check on him, he gave you a wave.
"How are you doing?" you asked. You hadn't been able to get what he'd said out of your head, and you were having a hard time meeting his eyes.
"About as well as can be expected," he answered with a small smile that tugged on your heartstrings. At that bit of sweetness, you made the choice to fight through the awkwardness and ask him what was on your mind.
"Do you remember what you said?" you questioned. "In the car after the surgery?"
He groaned, saying "Don't remind me," and your stomach dropped.
Trying to laugh it off, you told him, "Yeah, it was pretty weird."
"'Weird' is such a nice way to put it," he said. "It was downright mortifying. I never would have said any of that had I been in my right mind."
And there it was. He didn't actually like you, enough that it was "mortifying" to him that he'd said he did. It hurt, and you felt tears welling up, but you tried to fight them.
"I'm honestly sorry you had to hear that," Baxter went on, not noticing the shift in your mood. "Can you imagine if I'd actually meant any of that?"
He gave a shiver, like the things he'd said were the worst things he could imagine. You almost gasped, it hurt so much.
"Hey," he finally said, his tone a bit softer. "What's wrong?"'
"Nothing," you answered quickly. "I just didn't know, I guess ... I don't know ..."
"What do you mean?" he asked. "You know good and well that I don't like bananas nearly as much as I expressed to your mother."
Bananas. He was talking about bananas, not you. It was such a goofy misunderstanding, you started laughing.
"That's all you remember?" you asked, moving besides him to straighten his hair.
"Why, did I say something else?"
You paused your movements for just a moment, then forced yourself to continue. You pushed the black strands away from his forehead before patting his head and giving him a grin.
"Nope. Nothing."

No dream matches my reality with you
Summary
Aziraphale contemplates his sleeping lover's face, and soon can no longer just watch.

50 Types of Kisses - Writing Prompts
Kiss #28: One person tracing the other’s lips with a fingertip until they can’t resist any longer, tilting their chin towards them for a kiss

Tumblr media
A slight movement beside him caught Aziraphale's eye.
He was leaning against the headboard, reading while Crowley slept, nestled against his thigh.
The demon had just rolled over and Aziraphale put his book on the nightstand, his reading having lost its appeal compared to the sight of the beloved face sleeping peacefully.
As he watched Crowley's lips curl into a smile in his sleep, Aziraphale wondered with amusement what his lover could be dreaming about.
That smile.
Seen so many times, under so many circumstances.
Never as beautiful as when it was directed at him alone.
Careful not to wake Crowley, the angel slid down to lie on his stomach, his chin resting on one hand as he continued to watch his sleeping demon.
After a moment, he couldn't resist touching him and reached out with his other hand to Crowley's face, stopping just before his fingers made contact with his skin. Feeling a little hesitant because Crowley seemed to be sleeping so peacefully, he stopped himself from closing the distance between his hand and his lover's face and traced the fine features of the beloved face in the air without touching it.
Suddenly, the demon opened his eyes and said in an amused tone, "You know you can touch, Angel?"
Aziraphale chuckled slightly and then, with no reservations now that Crowley was awake, placed his hand on the demon's cheek. His lover hummed with pleasure, the sound almost like a purr, as the angel gently stroked his cheek with his thumb.
He said sheepishly, "Sorry to have woken you from your dream."
Crowley asked, a little surprised, "How do you know it was a dream and not a nightmare?"
Aziraphale traced the demon's lips with his index finger and replied, "You smiled and looked happy."
His finger moved up and delicately traced his lover's eyebrows as he continued, "What were you dreaming about?"
Crowley closed his eyes under the gentle caresses and replied, still smiling, "I don't really remember, except that you must have been in it.
Aziraphale raised an eyebrow and asked as his finger continued its path along the thin ridge of the demon's nose, "But if you don't remember, how do you know I was in it?"
"Because your hands don't make me feel like I'm awake."
Aziraphale laughed lightly and his finger was back on the smiling lips, gently caressing the outline.
Crowley opened his eyes and delicately kissed the angel's fingertips. Unable to resist, Aziraphale took hold of the demon's chin and tilted it toward him before placing his lips on his lover's.
Their lips moved gently and slowly against each other. The kiss was deliciously sweet, not meant to be anything more, just the pleasure of sharing a tender moment, reveling in their closeness.
When they parted to catch their breath, Aziraphale buried his face in Crowley's neck, who wrapped his arm around his shoulders to hold the angel close.
Then, his cheek pressed against his lover's head, the demon murmured in a hoarse voice, "I know it's probably cheesy, but even if I don't remember my dream, I'm sure it pales in comparison to this reality."
The angel turned his head on the demon's shoulder to look at him, gently caressing his chest in random curves, "I don't care if it's cheesy if that's how you feel. I happen to love my demon, even when he's cheesy."
Aziraphale planted a kiss on the chest, now shaken by Crowley's easy laugh, to which he added his own.
When their laughter died away, Aziraphale curled up against Crowley, who tightened his arm around him, and angel and demon let sleep take them both.
Whatever their dreams, they knew that when they awoke, reality would be a thousand times better.

"DADDY'S LIPTSTICK"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: daddy!mingyu x reader
Warning: incest, filthy smut, cum eating, masturbation
You feel like the time is ticking slowly, you can not wait anymore. You are excited to go home because your daddy promised that he would pick you up from school.
The class is dismissed and you rush your way to the gate of your university, pushing and kicking those who block your way.
You arrive at the gate, you sit on one of the benches outside as you catch your breath. You feel so nervous and excited at the same time. You can not keep your eyes on your phone and your legs are shaking and you feel like your heart will explode at any moment.
'I need to calm down.' You said to yourself. 'This isn't the first time, daddy will pick me up from school.' You take a few deep breaths until you finally calm yourself.
You look at your watch and your daddy is late. You are worried because you do not know what's taking him. You can't decide whether to give him a call or send him a message.
It's been 30 minutes since you waited for him and there is still no sign of him. No messages or calls, you are just there waiting for him. The excitement slowly turns to annoyance.
Just when you're about to call a taxi, a car stops in front of you. Mingyu gets down in the car. You rolled your eyes at the sight of him. He chuckled and walked towards you.
"Don't be mad right now, my princess," Mingyu said.
"How can I? You made me wait here! I look stupid." You said irritatingly.
Mingyu pulled you and hugged you from the back, "I'm sorry, let me make it up to you, baby." He whispered in your ears, you felt chills and shivers on your spine as you filled his lips almost touching your ear and nape. His strong and muscular body made you feel tingly inside.
"H-how?" You said with your voice shaking.
"Look around," Mingyu said and kissed your ear.
You turn around and see him holding a bag of famous make-up brands. He gives it to you and you immediately check what's inside. You are shocked to see your favorite brand's new make-up that costs thousands.
Mingyu fixes your hair as you enjoy checking the gift he gave you. As you are checking the bag, you notice that there is no lipstick.
"Daddy, how about the lipstick?"
"Ohh about that, it's in my car," Mingyu said with a smirk.
"Really!?" You said excitingly.
"Let's go inside so you can check it out," Mingyu said as he held your hand. You are a little surprised because of how hot the temperature of his hand is. He guided you to the car.
When both of you are finally inside the car, Mingyu tells you to close your eyes and you do. You can not help but bite your lips when you hear the sound of a zipper. Your heart is beating so fast, and your thoughts are running wild. He then held your hand and made you hold something hard and hot. When you open your eyes you are shocked to see Mingyu's hard and enormous dick in your hand.
"I can't find a perfect shade of lipstick that can fit your lips, so you will be using my dick. I'm sure you look good with my dick in your mouth, baby."
You leaned down and kissed the tip of his dick. He lets out a soft moan when your lips touch the head of his dick. You lick his dick and sucked its head. Your mind is going blank and all you can think of is his dick and the musky, manly smell of it. He stops you when he is about to cum, then holds your chin and using his dick he spreads his pre-cum onto your lips.

summary: fluff prompt ("there it is, there's that smile") from my 2.5k event
warnings: post!shibuya arc
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
after the events of shibuya with gojo being sealed, nanami being killed, and many others being critically injured, it was difficult for shoko to get a break or even a simple moment to relax. that was, until you showed up in her little workplace.
you knocked on the wall a couple of times to show your presence, and shoko lightly jumped, turning around to see you standing there.
"hello, y/n," she said, and evident tiredness in her voice as she spoke.
"how are you doing?" you asked, walking towards her.
shoko shrugged. "as well as i can be for my friends dying or being sealed in one night."
you hummed, nodding your head and stopping in front of her. "be honest with me, ieiri."
she let out a short sigh. "let's go outside, i don't think i can stay in here any longer."
"okay," you nodded again, following her outside.
as soon as you two reached the fresh air outside, shoko pulled out a cigarette and lighter, lighting it and immediately taking a drag from it.
"i thought you quit," you said.
"old habits die hard," she responded, taking another drag from it. "you should understand that."
"i do," you nodded, leaning against the railing. "i apologize for not being able to see you much during all of this happening. it's been rough on all of us but, technically we're the last two standing excluding yaga."
shoko hummed with a nod, tapping the cigarette to ash it over the railing. "i mean, there's still him," she said.
you knew who she was speaking of. geto, of course. but, you had a feeling he wasn't the same as he was when you all were students. he didn't seem to be the same guy you knew back then. "i guess you're right," you said. "but, he's not the same."
"i know," shoko sighed, resting her head on the palm of her unoccupied hand. "i don't know what to do anymore. i was barely able to help maki, but everyone else is..." her voice trailed off as she looked at the ground.
"hey," you placed a hand on her shoulder. "you're doing the most you can. none of us expected it to go this way. but, you need to take a break. you're going to overwork yourself and it will be detrimental to you."
"i'll be alright," shoko replied, taking a drag from the cigarette and ashing it again. "it's nothing new at this point."
you were silent for a moment before looking down at her. "how about we go out to eat tonight? just the two of us," you suggested.
"what?" she finally looked up at you, her eyebrows furrowed together in confusion.
"c'mon, you need a break, ieiri. let me take you out to dinner," you smile a small smile at her.
"are you really asking me out right now?" she asked, ashing the cigarette one last time and tossing it over the railing.
"would that be a bad thing?" you retorted, your smile growing. "you can always say no, it won't hurt my feelings."
"as long as you pay, i'd really like to go," she answered, a smile forming on her face.
"there it is, there's that smile," you say, smiling down at her.
"shut up," she gently shoved you.
"don't be like that, ieiri," you chuckled lightly. "i will gladly pay for whatever you want."
"even more sanity?" shoko joked.
"even more sanity," you nodded. "lord knows we all need some more of that."
"you're lucky you're cute," she mumbled, shaking her head.
"so then you'll let me pick you up around eight?" you asked hopefully.
"sure," shoko nodded. "a minute late and i'm not going, though."
"oh my, so scary," you put your hand on your chest in fake fear. "i won't be late though, don't worry."
"you better not be."

Atp i would like to see how ruby and aqua's relarionship will go. Not in "Yasss incest!" way but more of how they (mostly ruby) realize that they need to go their past lives and accept their relation as siblings. Or at least how wrong it is even if ruby wants it so much. There is no way incest would happen because Aka hates it. I am more interested in their psychological state and their conflict and resolving that conflict.
I don't think we can definitely say Akasaka Loves or Hates XYZ just because none of us know him, but there is a weird sense of like... discomfort or maybe avoidance on the topic of incest in OnK that I find kind of interesting to just poke at in my head sometimes. Because like, one of my main issues with the way OnK has handled the incest since 123 is that it just... well, hasn't.
I know that sounds insane in a post 143 world but going through the way the AquRuby stuff (or lbr just Ruby) has been written since 123, it feels like there's a very clear distinction between the ideas of "Ruby having feelings for Aqua, her brother" and "Ruby (& Sarina through her) having feelings for Goro, her doctor". When the story wants to play AquRuby for laughs, it leans into Ruby being attracted to her brother. When it actually takes things seriously, the framing is almost always Ruby addressing Gorou and the concept of incest is so loudly, conspicuously absent. You can even sort of see this line being drawn all the way back in 123, just at the end where Ruby very pointedly first addresses Aqua and then, separately, addresses "Sensei". It's almost as if she's purposely trying to create a divide so she can have one without dealing with the reality of what it would mean to be with the other.
It's hard to tell whether or not this is intentional in the sense of being part of Ruby's arc but it nevertheless creates a sense of the series wanting to have its cake and eat it too, indulging in the shock value and spicy intrigue of incest as a taboo without meaningfully engaging with it as subject matter. I've described it elsewhere recently as the series exclusively toying with the *aesthetics* of incest, its surface level referential language and set dressing, while resolutely avoiding going any deeper and I still stand by that. The 143 kiss is actually a really good example of this - the imagery is that of two siblings kissing but on that very same page, Ruby reminds us that in her eyes, she is talking to and in love with her "Sensei". The series has conducted this deeply convoluted narrative trick where it can depict what is very clearly incest without it technically being incest. Even when roadblocks to the GRSR relationship are addressed, it's only ever in reference to their age gap and Ruby always frames it as something that *used* to stand in their way but is no longer an issue now she's 18.
On days I am feeling charitable towards the series, I'm inclined to think this is an intentional part of Ruby's arc and that she is, in universe, being a bit delulu about the whole thing as an unhealthy coping mechanism - her being avoidant of emotionally inconvenient truths is something we see popping up more than once, so this being an extension of that tendency would make sense. When I am feeling more cynical, however, I tend towards thinking this is just an excuse to indulge in shocking imagery that generates clicks without ever having to actually commit to upsetting readers by sinking *or* canonizing incest ship. My best guess is that the truth is somewhere in the middle but it must be stressed that this is just my thoughts and I have no idea what goes on in Akasaka's brain.
Anyway this is just a long and rambly way of saying "word". Regardless of what direction the story takes AquRuby, I just want the story to finally fucking commit to something instead of chickening out every time it gears up to do so.
