Okay I need everyone to stop what they’re doing and please go watch The Buccaneers on Apple TV.
It’s like a Taylor Swift coded version of Bridgerton but about girlhood and much more fun.
Soundtrack slaps. Nothing New in the first episode and Long Live in the last episode.
Premise is five American girls making their way through English deb society.
Very good storylines, phenomenal acting, and beautiful/deep characters.
Last episode had me screaming and kicking my feet and gasping in shock. This is REAL tv!

Pirate Trivia Time:
Here are some of my favourite bits of pirate trivia:
Ann Bonny's name has been spelled "Anne" with an e for 300 years due to a error in the trial record.
The sole surviving physical description of Ann Bonny and Mary Read by an eyewitness is basically "I knew they were women because they had big breasts".
Blackbeard once ransomed the city of Charleston for syphilis medication.
There is no known record of Blackbeard killing anyone before his final battle.
The word "buccaneer" has the same origins as the word "barbecue" (the boucan, a means of preparing meat).
A buccaneer, William Dampier, introduced the word "avocado" (among others) to the English language (he was also the first person to circumnavigate the world three times).
Wrecks of at least two pirate ships have been discovered: "Black Sam" Bellamy's Whydah Galley, and Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge.
Arguably the most successful pirate of all time was a Chinese woman, Ching Shih, aka Zheng Yi Sao.
Bartholomew Roberts had perhaps the most cinematic pirate death- trading broadsides with a man of war in the middle of a tropical storm.
Yes, Stede Bonnet actually had a library on his sloop, the Revenge.

We will now have to go 2 weeks without seeing Nick and the Niners play so to help pass the time I’m going to be ranking all 14 playoff teams based on how likely I think it is that they would go to the Super Bowl. I’ll be ranking one team each day until the divisionals. Feel free to share your own thoughts or ask questions, but hopefully this will be a good way to get through the Bosa content drought we’ll be facing.

Coming in dead last we have the Bucs. I’ll be honest I don’t know much about them, but really I don’t need to. The NFC south is garbage and it’s honestly debatable if any team from that division deserved a playoff spot. They are tied for the worst record out of the playoff teams this season, I don’t see anyone seriously rooting for them, and I don’t think anyone’s scared of them. I would say they wouldn’t make it past the wildcard round but considering that the Eagles have completely imploded, it’s honesty anyones game. But they aren’t making it past the divisionals.

Book you’re currently reading: I just finished the ballad of songbirds and snakes. I loved the hunger games novels, and tbh, I was a little worried about this one. But the ending… Man. Suzanne Collins really did it. Now I’m very excited for the movie.
Last song you listened to: Sunset by The Midnight. That’s from season 3 episode 4 of Elite, playing when Lu comes down the stairs at her Valentine’s party, looking fire in her tux. Yes, I still listen to my Elite playlist.
Currently watching: DWTS- team Jason and Dani all the way. And Grey’s Anatomy reaction videos on YouTube. When I am emotionally exhausted, I want comfort TV, and watching reactions to a show I know by heart is very comforting to me. We’re talking season two of Grey’s Anatomy btw, with my favorite storyline: Izzie and Denny (that’s where my URL comes from).
Fic you’re currently reading: the house is white, the lawn is dead, a Shiv/Karolina Succession fic. And I’m planning to catch up with the Class fics by @dhyanshiva, whose writing is so lyrical and beautiful that I’m jealous and love it at the same time 😅😘
Next on your to watchlist: Buccaneers! I’m just waiting until most of it is out on Apple TV+ so I won’t have to pay for the extra streaming service for too long. Also Everything Now on Netflix. It’s a British teen dramedy that looks really promising, about a girl who’s just come out of an inpatient eating disorder clinic and is trying to rejoin normal life with her friends. I really want to check it out, but I’m also a little scared.
Current obsession: podcasts about TV shows I love. And perfecting the no body, no crime chapter of my Elite x Taylor Swift fic series.
