Donna’s Wednesday Radio Show Prompt List #9
Tumblr media
Hey guys! As some of may know I do a weekly radioshow on Wednesdays and I thought why not put together a prompt list from some of the songs I’ve been playing. I thought it would bring some fresh prompts into our world!
Feel free to pop any of these prompts with a charcter I write for (You can find these on the pinned post on my blog) into my ASK box!
Also don't forget to put the entire prompt in and not just the number!
I'll never be your chosen one
Only one of us gon' make it out alive and it's not you
See, anybody could be good to you You need a bad girl to blow your mind
I love when she says, what's wrong with right here on the counter?
Don't you dare come running back to me
Bad bitch, diamonds in my collarbone
I was drunk, I was gone, that don't make it right
Love her even though I'm not supposed to
I make these boys get on their knees
honey, hold my hand, you like making me wait for it
No matter what I say or do The message isn't getting through
Are you scared?
I need her so bad Sometimes I feel like I can taste it
She got a body like an hourglass But I can give it to you all the time
She's more than worth it
I've been waiting patiently
If he hanging, we banging,
With or without makeup
I get tired and upset And I'm trying to care a little less
anybody could be bad to you You need a good girl to blow your mind
Searching for a new high, high as the sun, uncomfortably numb
Late night watching television But how we get in this position?
And you're listening to the sound Of my breaking heart
Got to be a better way to come down
Think it's time we got this straight Sit and talk face to face
I got a new tattoo,
It feels good to hold the knife, cut me out just right
Back-back seat of my car
I don't care what the people may say
Well I just want to let you that he's mine
I promise there were no feelings involved
Still your hot and you kiss me back and it Feels real good and I know you love me
But you're blind if you can't see That his love is all in me
I killed a man in a far away land
But you came home around three
Don't you say one more thing to me
I'd fall to pieces if I went anywhere without her
Just wait a minute, let me take you there
I can say things I don't mean
Pack your bags up and leave
You can't destroy this love I found Your silly games I won't allow
I don't care what the whisperers say
Scattered around on the floor
And I will not speak of your sins
How long has this been goin' on?
Got nothing left to prove to you
I really want you to really want me
I'm so misunderstood, but I live for this
Maybe I should drop it It's a touchy subject
I've been dancin' on the floor darlin
He said without me he couldn't make it Through the day,
There's a light in the bedroom
This is just another night And we've had many of them
Won't you shut it up, you can't explain
When we get home darlin'
my heart was flawed I knew my weakness
From the truth you can't escape
This is what it feels like when you become one of the drunks
I know you want to know what's right
So hold my hand Consign me not to darkness
I took the road and I fucked it all away
And time's running out as often it does
Can I come in from the cold?
You better take cover, there's a quiet storm
I feel like I need some more and I Feel your body close to mine
We are the last people standing At the end of the night
I'll admit, I was wrong, what else can I say
I know it's killing you inside
Good times, remedy your sorrows
Close the door behind you, leave your key
I really wanna stop, but I just got the taste for it

(more…) “”

Encanto OC Event Week 2
Part 2: Tomás Herrera & Others
(Part 1 Here)
The second half of my OC relationship info post - this'll include some info about Tomás's bonds with my other OCs, as well as those background OCs' relationships with each other and canon characters.
@encanto-extended-edition
Tomás in regards to his natal family:
Tomás is the youngest in a family of four, born to Lucía and Horacio Herrera.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucía was a schoolteacher and volunteer in the town library, who passed away when Tomás was still a child. Tomás loved and admired his mother, considering her to have been a saint in life. The memories he has of her are fond ones, recalling her as being a kind woman without a bad word to say about anyone. He thinks highly of her optimism and humility, and her ability to make anyone feel understood and listened to.
Lucía as well as Tomás's older brother, Mateo, are both canonically deceased as per the events of the story the Herrera family is introduced in. This leaves Tomás and his father as the last living of their family within the Encanto.
Horacio used to be a mason, having to retire early due to weakness in his legs. Between this and the loss of his parents, his wife, and eventually his oldest son, Horacio sometimes thinks he's cursed - but his one silver lining is his remaining son, Tomás. Horacio has zero qualms about being openly affectionate with Tomás both physically and verbally, and though he's a little oblivious at times, he only wants the best for his boy. Tomás in turn is a loyal and protective son to Horacio, willing to put up with a little embarrassment if it makes his father happy. It doesn't matter how old Tomás gets, he'll always be his papá's conejito.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Art by cringecanto (right)
It's a bit self-indulgent of me, but I'm of the mind that when Tomás marries into the family, Casita springs up a small in-law suite for Horacio so he won't have to spend his days in an empty house. I also am of the mind that in their youth Horacio and Bruno were quite friendly with each other, due to both more or less being underdogs with not a lot of friends between them.
Horacio likely approached Bruno before his wife's passing, just on the off chance he saw her make a miraculous recovery. That isn't what he saw, of course. But though devastated, Horacio accepted the result with as much grace as he could and didn't blame Bruno or his visions for the bad news.
They ended up losing touch when Bruno became more withdrawn and eventually "left", but upon Bruno's return to society their friendship ends up picking right back up where it left off. When Tomás marries into the family and Horacio tags along, he and Bruno spend a good amount of their time having tea and playing cards as old men tend to do.
The rest under the cut to spare the poor dashboards out there!
The Patch:
The Patch, or El Parche, is the group name I use to refer to Camilo's small group of older friends, including Tomás (as introduced in the previous post). They're childhood friends; as a unit and individually they're all well-liked young men within their peers and the community as a whole, decently popular in different ways. They initially were meant to be unnamed background characters whose designs were pulled from random Encantownies, but I accidentally got attached to them and now they all have proper designs and development. Such is my life.--
Tumblr media
Cristián Vargas, Rafael Molina, Santiago Torres, Tomás Herrera
Santiago (22) is the oldest not only of the friend group but of his own siblings, of which he's got 6 younger sisters and brothers. He's the designated 'mom friend' by nature, easily slotting into leadership positions and able to keep a handle on multiple goings-on at once. That said he very much is a mother hen type, a bit fussy and prone to scolding his siblings and friends (usually Rafael) whenever they start steering towards bad decisions.
Tomás and Santi are usually on the same page when it comes to caution and forethought, contrasting with Rafa and Cris's more go-with-the-flow attitudes. Santi's compassionate nature makes it easy for him to pick up on what Tomás is feeling without him voicing it, taking it upon himself to either make decisions based on what Tomás would most prefer or urging the others to do so instead. Tomás appreciates Santi looking out for him, feeling it alleviates pressure off of his own shoulders when he's unsure of what to do.
Rafael (21) is the most boisterous of all of them, the beacon of activity and extroversion to balance out his more subdued companions. He's a risk-taker and extremely liberal-minded about topics that usually wouldn't be openly bragged out, often leading to Santi urging him to keep it down (which will inevitably be ignored or expanded upon specifically to make Santi flustered).
His loud and brash personality clashes with Tomás's reserved ways, but the two have a unique bond despite the expected incompatibility; Rafael is not at all discouraged by Tomás's quietness and Tomás isn't put off by Rafael's brazenness. They both think the other is easy to communicate with - Tomás never has to guess what Rafa's feelings are and Rafa likes Tomás's predilection for being a listening ear.
Cristián (20) is far old enough now to have an identity and social circle separate to those of his twin brother César, but when he was a young child he used to be very shy and hesitant to leave his brother's side. When Santi and Rafa became his friends it was the first time he felt comfortable with something (or someone) that was more or less his own - so when his new friends started chatting with Tomás he felt a little threatened. Fears of abandonment were unfounded though, as not only did his friends not dump him in favor of the New Kid, but he very quickly realized why they liked Tomás and ended up getting attached to him too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As adults they have similar mellow temperaments and get along quite nicely, though Cris's vastly improved self-assurance has made him a lot more laidback and unflappable than the more organized and prim Tomás. Tomás admires Cris's ability to be both steadfast and considerate, unwavering in what he believes in but knowing when to handle situations with delicateness and care.
When Camilo entered the picture and turned the Patch into a five-man-band, all four of the older members collectively decided that he was more or less their joint little brother. Santiago attempts to provide Camilo with proper advice and look out for him in ways an older brother should, which often means trying to make sure Rafael keeps his crude language in check around him. Rafael usually does not, taking a completely different approach to being and older brother and totally enabling Camilo's mischievous nature. Cristián is somewhere in the middle, oftentimes siding with Santi or Rafa purely based on what he think would have the most entertaining result.
Beyond this though Cris is a unique source of understanding for Camilo, as Cris is the only other person he knows who doesn't experience romantic attraction for anyone and has no interest in dating. He could have asked Bruno, of course, but solidarity feels a little better coming from someone close to his own age rather than his quirky hermit uncle.--
Cris, Santi and Rafa are the older brothers to Cecilia, Alejandra and Juancho (the town kids) respectively.
Tumblr media
Other relationships to Encantownies include:
Santi and Alejandra have five other siblings, and José (the tall fellow Camilo shifts into near the start of the movie) is their tío. Osvaldo is a tío to Rafael and Juancho, as well as their teenaged sister. Cris's parents are seen bringing Cecilia into Casita before Antonio's ceremony, and his twin brother César is the young man who asks Luisa to help upright his leaning house.
Other OCs:
Claudia Reyes (19) is the young lady with the drum seen during The Family Madrigal, whose family owns the music shop they're playing in front of. Beside her are her brother-in-law on the left and her father on the right.
Tumblr media
She's Rafael's long-time girlfriend, on his same wavelength of open-mindedness and free spirit. They've been in a strange will-they-won't-they situation since they were teenagers, with Rafael playing it off like they're not all that serious and just messing around. Everyone knows Rafa's totally full of it and is head over heels for her though, including Claudia who's more or less just waiting for him to finally get around to proposing. They're going to have at least 4 kids together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She knows the rest of the Patch more or less as her boyfriend's friends, but there's still rapport between them and Claudia's more than welcome to hang with the boys whenever she wants. On top of that, she's also Luisa's good friend who oftentimes will suggest Luisa try out outrageous things in an effort to push her out of her comfort zone.
The town librarian, usually referred to as the Maestro, is an enigmatic yet helpful figure in town whose mission in life is the sharing of knowledge. They can be considered everyone's friend, though like Horacio they have a kinship with Bruno that goes back quite a few years. All perfectly platonic, mind you! Additionally, given Lucía's history of volunteering in the library, the Maestro also is on good terms with the Herrera family and still keeps in touch with Horacio pretty regularly.
Tumblr media
And I think those are the most notable relationships to get into for now! Up next will be the AU posts, and... boy, do I have a lot of those. 🫠

BEST SOY LUNA CHARACTER: THE TOURNAMENT
I realized I barely use this blog anymore, and that's why I decided to put this tournament here, instead of clogging it up on my main blog.
I wondered if I would do this with Violetta or with Soy Luna, and decided that I was more dragging towards SL this time. But next time, I'll make one for Violetta, I promise!
Anyway! I have created a tournament to decide once and for all, who is the best Soy Luna character?
It was hard knowing how many characters would be included, and I decided to just go all-in. This meant I included some very small only-appeared-in-a-few-episodes-characters. I barely knew their names and had to learn via googling. Some characters had NO NAME I could find (like the nurse supervisor. She HAS a name, but... I don't know it and I won't scroll through random eps to find it).
This is the wonderful bracket, the standard bracket I use every time because I am basic
Tumblr media
I need everyone to know that every pairing is randomized. I needed to do it as I wanted to be as non-biased as possible. I did have to randomize several times though, as there was some pairings that I felt was unfair to have in the first round. For example, characters who have a close relationship or I know are equally popular did not feel right to just put in the first round and let a character disappear before they have a chance. Some characters though are just here so that they have someone to be up against in the first round lmao.
If there are names that you do not recognize: Do not worry. I have links to all the polls down here, and I will have pictures of every character.
You have one week to vote! Let's go!

Flavio Scutti - CANZONE ITALIANA - Speciale Folk Psichedelico 1970-1980
https://www.mixcloud.com/radioraheem_milano/flavio-scutti-canzone-italiana-speciale-folk-psichedelico-1970-1980-12-05-2023/

Half-Truths
Manipulation, blackmail, minor character death, medical setting, ventilator mention, drug and alcohol mention, firearm mention
[Directly follows Day 25 - Assumed Dead]
“I’m from Portugal.” Cortazar avoided Bear’s eyes as his head turned. They were weaning him off of the ventilator, and today was good day - his breathing remained steady, focused and intentional, but steady.
“What?”
“When we first met you made fun of my Spanish, said I sounded like a telenovela character.” Cortazar smiled weakly, shrugging. “I probably did learn most of my Spanish from telenovelas, I think I failed that class in school.”
Bear’s hostility didn’t quite reach his eyes, memories of another time softening the harsh present. They used to have a good working relationship.
Cortazar used to trust him. He used to trust Cortazar.
This felt something like the way it did when he whined about shipments and frustrations with the Boss. Something close to sharing one last smoke before Bear went home to David. A glass of whiskey and an unsaid invitation that always went unanswered.
“Sorry, it’s just…I know everything about you. The new you - on paper, at least, and I know quite a bit about the version of Bear that’s dead and buried.” Cortazar swallowed, eyes glancing to his face and then back to the ground. “I thought you might want to know a bit more about me.”
Bear clenched his jaw, not in anger but in a reluctant smile. There was a soft flush of warmth spreading across Cortazar’s face.
Why was he doing this? Any of this? He should have just killed Bear. It would have been a mercy, like he told David. Now Bear had to lie in a hospital bed for weeks just to remember how to breathe through scarred lungs while the man who tortured him tried to help. Why?
The blush didn’t quite leave the bridge if his nose.
“Ask me anything - we spend all our time talking about you, past and present.”
What was wrong with him? Why was he keeping David - torturing him for some slight even Cortazar was blind to? He should have dragged them both to the Boss’ compound the second he got the cache back. What was the worm in his ribs that ached at the way Bear had looked at David when they were together? Why could he not shake the want for Bear to look at him with those soft, brown eyes?
“Why?” Bear breathed, forcing Cortazar to meet his eyes. Why was he doing any of this? A question he was struggling to answer himself. “Why work for him?”
This. This he could answer.
“He came to me, in Europe.” Cortazar spoke slowly, cogs in his mind churning. “My sister - Santi - she…let me back up a bit. My brother-in-law, Bruno, was a chemist; worked with a private research company, some international thing I don’t remember.
A few years ago, Santi came to me. She thought he was cheating on her. Asked me to see where he was sneaking off to after work when he would suddenly call to tell her he’d be working late. She knew he wasn’t at work - she drove out one of those nights and his car wasn’t there.”
Bear was enraptured, no eye rolls or distracted yawns. His gaze was intense, piercing but curious. Cortazar liked the way he watched him.
“I followed him, saw him meet with some very formal looking men in suits. They exchanged brief cases, checked the contents, and then they left. I confronted him immediately - I was an idiot back then. Thought he was selling proprietary information to a competing company or something.”
“He wasn’t?” Cortazar could see Bear think through the possibilities. He scrunched his face in concentration. It was cute. “The Boss?”
“Bingo. Boss had contracted out some of his higher ups to whip up something nasty. He got the short stick and was the middleman for the company and the Boss’ people.” Here he had to be careful. He didn’t know how much Bear knew about Ambrosia - that wonderful terrible new drug that was already making the Boss millions in its testing phase. “Boss was blackmailing him directly too. Threatening the family. He begged me not to tell Santi - and Marco, his little boy - she would run straight to the police.”
He swallowed thickly, thinking of how he wanted to spin the story. If Bear knew the truth, he would never look at him the way he was now - open and earnest and gentle in a way that made Cortazar’s blood sing.
“I…I begged him to go to the police. I didn’t know the Boss had bought them out.“
He was the one who talked his brother-in-law out of going to Interpol that very night. The money was too good to pass up, for Marco’s sake he suggested. He didn’t like the hesitation in Bruno’s eyes when he agreed.
“I convinced him to arrange another meeting. Get the police involved, make it a sting operation.”
That was partially true. Cortazar at least convinced him he needed to wait for more damning evidence before running to the nearest Interpol office. Run a recorder in his pocket for verbal identification.
“I…” Cortazar breathed deeply, swallowing back crocodile tears. “I followed him again - the next time and…they knew. The Boss had the cops in his pocket and they knew.”
His voice broke. Good timing too.
“One to the head and two to the chest. Makes it look like a professional hit.”
Cortazar remembered distinctly the recoil of his firearm, the blood splatter on the ground. The surprised associates of the Boss had their own weapons trained on him in seconds. Producing the audio recorder from his still twitching brother-in-law’s pocket was enough to sell the story of a set-up stopped short by an enterprising young man with an interest in their fine operation.
“I don’t know what they did with the body, it never turned up. I - I told Santi…I told her he ran off with another girl. Left the country and never looked back. She was devastated but… like I said. She would have run straight to the same cops that shot her husband dead.
I thought that would be the end of it. I - I convinced her to move to the states. Start fresh somewhere new. I just - I thought they wouldn’t follow.”
“They did.” There was a soft sympathy to Bear’s voice. How it wrenched at Cortazar’s heart strings to know his partially fabricated back-story was endearing himself to Bear.
“Yeah. Two fucking weeks after we finished moving. Boss wanted someone he could trust managing shipments on the west coast and southern border. And by trust I mean someone with an easy to threaten civilian family.”
Cortazar had moved them out there under that premise, to start fresh after Bruno’s affair and elopement. He didn’t want to stick around for when the body eventually turned up. The Boss was happy to offer such an eager employee a place in the upper echelons managing shipments - and blackmail.
“That’s pretty much all there is to it.” Cortazar’s smile was forced, flickering as the frown that tugged on his lips fought to be seen. “I work for him. Keep shipments and couriers in order. He doesn’t kill my sister and nephew.”
Sure, the threat was there, but even the Boss knew Cortazar didn’t need an extra push to get his hands dirty for cash. And Cortazar himself knew he liked the fear in David’s eyes, the way other shipping managers cowered under his gaze. Money and drugs weren’t his poison of choice - it was power.
“I’m…”
“Don’t apologize. God, don’t. I - I should have never of…fuck.” Cortazar put his face in his hands, hot tears leaking between his fingers. He thought he deserved an Emmy for this performance. “I’m up to my neck in this shit and I’m not getting out any time soon. Not without a fucking miracle.”
The touch was as soft as he imagined it, and twice as steady. Bear’s fingers carded through his hair, slowly moving to hold the side of his face as Cortazar slowly raised his eyes. He leaned into the touch, holding his own hand over Bear’s still bruised knuckles.
“For what it’s worth…” He paused, breathing labored from the effort of speaking. “I hope you get that miracle.”

LE TESI DI GIORDANO BRUNO -di Sergio Ragaini-
Tumblr media
Carissimi.
Insomma: aveva capito tutto!
