UPDATE: DECEMBER 1, 2022
On Thursday, the Senate voted 52-43 in favor of a measure that would have ensured rail workers were granted seven days of sick leave in a tentative agreement brokered and enforced on the workers and their employers by President Joe Biden. But the measure needed 60 votes to overcome a filibuster. Democrat Joe Manchin voted no on the sick days, while a handful of Republicans — Sens. Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Marco Rubio, Mike Braun, John Kennedy, and Lindsey Graham — voted in favor.
The rejection of the measure means that Biden’s version of the tentative agreement, which passed the Senate 80-15 shortly afterward, will be imposed on workers after Biden signs the bill, averting a looming strike. The new agreement, which represents a marginal improvement on the tentative agreement rejected by workers in late October, ensures only one new paid day off for workers. The companies had furiously opposed even a single additional day off, as it runs in conflict with their strategy to keep staffing as minimal as humanly possible.
Over the past three years, railroad executives have taken over $200 million in compensation as workers attempted to force their hand for sick pay during a bargaining process that has stretched on for years.
The Senate showdown came after progressives in the House successfully demanded a vote on the sick days to accompany approval of the tentative agreement. The strategy was criticized by some on the left, who saw it as selling out workers, arguing instead that the contract should have been amended and sent to the Senate as one piece of legislation.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., defended the strategy, saying that unions in her district and nationwide supported the effort to pass additional sick leave in lieu of a viable option to actually sink the proposed tentative agreement. The options available to the unions and to progressives in Congress were extremely limited by the time Biden moved to force the agreement on the workers. The Railway Labor Act allows Congress to enforce collective bargaining agreements in order to avert railway strikes.
“Tanking wasn’t an option bc of GOP votes,” she wrote on Twitter, “we moved to keep sick leave alive.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A railway union source said that the next phase of the fight would be a demand that Biden include rail workers in a coming executive order that would mandate 56 hours of paid sick leave for federal contractors. The bipartisan support in the House and Senate for the sick days, even though it fell short of 60, could boost the argument for including such workers in the order.
A showdown over a looming railroad strike heads to the Senate floor this week, after a group of progressive Democrats, led by Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., pushed to modify a tentative agreement to include seven days of sick leave. The expanded agreement passed the House 220-206 on Wednesday, and the fight now moves to the Senate, where it remains unclear if there is enough Republican support to overcome a filibuster and send the agreement to President Joe Biden’s desk.
The original agreement was approved by a bipartisan majority, 290-137, with the extra sick days added as an “enrollment correction.” With a strike deadline approaching, Senate Democrats have the choice of insisting Republicans approve the expanded agreement, or folding and allowing the original agreement, which includes just one sick day, to move through. Aside from Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and a handful of allies, there appears to be little appetite for such a fight.
The tentative agreement was brokered by Biden and has been publicly rejected by the rank-and-file members of the union. Federal law, however, allows Congress to impose labor agreements in the rail industry to avert strikes. The single day of sick leave itself represented a breakthrough. Time off is an especially contentious issue because the companies have stripped the number of staff on a single train well below the bare bones. With often just two staff for an entire train, if one calls out sick, the entire system is threatened, leading to draconian attendance policies in order to maximize profits.
On Monday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had told her caucus that there would be an up-or-down vote on the tentative agreement between the companies and the unions, with no amendments allowed. “This week, the House will take up a bill adopting the Tentative Agreement — with no poison pills or changes to the negotiated terms — and send it to the Senate,” she said.
But Bowman introduced a measure to give seven days of sick leave, joined by the other five members of The Squad and Rep. Chuy Garcia, D-Ill. In the Senate, Sanders floated a companion version. Public pressure quickly led Pelosi to say she would, after all, allow for a vote on changes to the deal, sending out a new letter on Tuesday night amending her approach. On Wednesday, the Congressional Progressive Caucus announced it had reached a deal to support the new floor strategy, which creates two separate votes that would allow the Senate to reject the expanded agreement and pass the original agreement without it needing to come back through the House.
The Senate vote puts pressure on a Republican Party that has increasingly positioned itself as a champion of the working class. Sen. Marco Rubio, symbolic of that attempted transformation, said Tuesday he would follow the lead of the workers.
Tumblr media
On Tuesday, Sen. John Cornyn, the influential Republican from Texas, signaled openness to expanding sick days to seven, but on Wednesday walked it back. “I just think it’s a bad idea for Congress to try to intervene and renegotiate these collective bargaining agreements between labor and management,” he said.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., told Punchbowl News’s Jake Sherman she was fighting “tooth and nail” for the seven days of leave, calling it a “showdown.”
With agreement in the House and a deadline for a strike looming, the dynamics put Senate Republicans in the awkward position of forcing a rail strike in order to block workers from getting an extra six days of sick leave, a position that might be difficult to defend politically amid the economic pain that would be caused by a strike — and that could be ended simply by Republicans agreeing to allow modest time off. But if and when they block the expanded agreement, pressure will be on Democrats to pass the weaker deal and avert the strike.
“Put up or shut up,” said Sanders on MSNBC. “If you can’t vote for this, to give workers today, who really have hard jobs, dangerous jobs, if you can’t guarantee them paid sick leave, don’t tell anybody that you stand with working families.”
Tumblr media
As lawmakers scramble to pass a deal before the December 9 deadline when workers are allowed to strike, unions have hailed lawmakers’ efforts to add sick days into their contract.
The Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes “applauds the representatives in Congress and any Senators that will stand in support of Railroad Workers receiving paid sick leave,” Peter Kennedy, a spokesperson for BMWED, which represents tens of thousands of union rail workers, told The Intercept. “The additional legislation needs to pass so that Railroad Workers will have basic protections against illness, and protection from punishment from the railroads when workers are most vulnerable.”
Railroad companies have spent years softening legislators in preparation for such a moment. As the fight moves to the Senate, it will do so under a Congress whose members have been the recipients of at least $20 million in campaign cash from the rail industry over the past decade.
A coalition of over 400 trade groups signed a letter to congressional leaders on Monday, calling for Congress to act to avert a rail strike. “While a voluntary agreement with the four holdout unions is the best outcome, the risks to America’s economy and communities simply make a national rail strike unacceptable,” they wrote.
A review of campaign finance records shows 19 members of Congress who have received at least $10,000 each from railroad companies in the past election cycle. Another 130 members each received at least a $1,000 contribution from either rail operators or the Association of American Railroads, the largest industry trade group. According to OpenSecrets, AAR has spent over $3.5 million on lobbying this year, consistent with past trends.
Since 2020, the rail companies Union Pacific and BNSF — which have both been locked in tense negotiations with the unions — spent nearly $1.5 million each in direct contributions and donations to congressional campaign political action committees. The two massive employers, along with rail operator Northern Southern, have spent the past decade scaling back their workforces, refusing to give sick days to workers, and operating dangerously understaffed trains.
The Teamsters, which absorbed the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees in 2004, donated just under $1.5 million to political candidates during the 2022 election cycle. BMWED and two other unions — the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalman and the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Union — also lobbied Congress this year to the tune of $55,000. The PAC for SMART contributed over $1.5 million to political candidates this cycle, while the PAC for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen gave $260,000.
Recipients of Union Pacific’s cash infusion include $30,000 donations to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and the National Republican Congressional Committee. Union Pacific also contributed $10,000 to Sens. Patty Murray, Tammy Duckworth, John Hoeven, John Boozman, and made slightly smaller contributions to Sens. Joe Manchin and Marco Rubio. In the 2022 cycle, the rail company also spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on over 120 House candidates from both parties.
Following Union Pacific’s lead, BNSF contributed $30,000 donations to the National Republican Congressional Committee, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. It also gave contributions of $10,000 or more to the PACs affiliated with Sens. Patty Murray, Jerry Moran, Susan Collins, Lindsey Graham, John Thune, James Lankford, Marsha Blackburn, Ben Sasse, Dan Sullivan, Mitch McConnell, John Hoeven, Jon Tester, John Cornyn, Gary Peters, Jack Reed, Debbie Stabenow, and Mark Warner, alongside Reps. Jim Clyburn and Kay Granger.
Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern often compete for the first and second-lowest ratings on Glassdoor for any employer in the U.S. In February, BNSF — which is controlled by billionaire Warren Buffett’s firm Berkshire Hathaway — began penalizing workers taking time off for “fatigue, family emergencies, or illness.” At the same time, a federal judge ruled a rail strike illegal.
“This should not be a political issue,” said Kennedy, the BMWED spokesperson. “This is an issue about protecting our workers who ensure the nation’s rail infrastructure and supply chain function as best as possible. Representatives on both sides of the aisle should unanimously support paid sick days for railroad workers because it is good for the railroads, it is good for their customers, it is good for the American economy, and it is good for the long-term stability and vitality of the railroad industry.”

for general strikes, against liberal complacency
the argument goes: "we cannot afford to disrupt our economy, we cannot allow the railroad workers to strike" this is the argument of a liberal collaborator, who sides with oncoming fascism against the rest of us fascist regimes aren't defeated at the ballot box -- they are defeated through intense and often violent struggle general strikes, guerrilla tactics, civil or international wars -- these are historically the means by which dictators, military regimes and outright fascist governments have been overthrown and yet liberal collaborators, who would rather see Trump win than Bernie Sanders (who is hardly a socialist but better than most Democrats), tell us that even a railroad strike is too much they cannot be trusted to fight for us, to defend us, or even to side with us and yet we have no other means, no independent political vehicle, to organize the fight against fascism and for liberation this is a problem without an answer at the moment -- and just saying "we need a socialist party" when all the socialist leadership have failed time and again --regardless of how loudly they proclaim their revolutionary credentials, and I do mean *all* -- isn't enough, and in fact bears all the signs of a broken neurotic loop, rather than a cogent political strategy we have a problem without an answer. but first we must fully and deeply acknowledge that problem: we have to fight against the rise of fascism, and we lack the organizational means to do so so let us at least recognize one weapon, one strategic tool: the general strike, shutting down economic movement for political goals. let us support that idea, nurture it, spread it. because even if we lack the full platform necessary to lead the struggle, at least people can be prepared to fight back when the fascists make their move again -- and they will -- Jan 6 was a dumb dress rehearsal (see 'Beer Hall Putsch') but the next one won't be so inarticulate

What do you think about the whole Institute brotherhood as foils of each other thing ?
Because I feel like Bethesda did set up some interesting stuff with that? The Institute as a paragon of "progress" that destroy any chance of rebuilding society around them ,then the brotherhood as champions of regression who foister environments that allow "new" societies to form.
I think you could make that argument. One clear way in which the two are foils, right, is that both of them are legacy groups descended from pre-war American institutions- U.S Army for the Brotherhood, Ivy-League Academia for the Institute- but there's an underremarked-upon further similarity in that the founding stock of both factions aren't the best and brightest preserved as part of a considered plan, but instead a tiny pocket from each larger body who got reeaaaal fuckin' lucky and let it go to their heads. The Institute got started by a bunch of CIT faculty and students who hid in the basement when the bombs dropped- which’ll net you a higher-than-average engineering/r&d acumen than any other basement, and it would certainly select for the self-importance that crops up in those spaces, along with the MIT-specific funny student prank neurosis, but they are, fundamentally, still just A Bunch Of Guys In A Basement. The state of their complex 200 years later feels like an performative effort to justify to themselves that they really are the best and the brightest, but you find out from the maintenance guy that it’s a patina over old-world systems they have to keep repaired, and you can find elements of the old-world architecture and office complexes that they didn’t have the spare plastic to makeover. (The FEV lab is notably and pointedly in this style- and from this I think you can extrapolate that most of the institutes fun toys are probably pre-war research projects that they picked up and ran with vs something they were soooo uniquely intelligent to think of and produce post war. I do think SOME level of actual thought went into the Institute and how it happened and What It Is Thematically but not enough of that made it into the game in actual spoken words the player hears.)
In conclusion, the secret good fallout 4 that lives in my head would have been much more aggressive about drawing a through line to pre-war academia, and would have also made pre-war academia’s presence in Boston (college town of college towns) much more salient in the environmental storytelling and narrative- making it clear the extent to which the institute is essentially the still-walking zombie of the-pre-war governments research and development division, making their tussle with the Brotherhood closer to a civil war between fragments of the same beast. I have a lot of thoughts about how I’d rework the institute but this is getting long.

I'm sorry but I cannot STAND that final photo in brotherhood showing the gang post-series
it does not make any sense to me and feels incredibly out of character, and also their perceived ages in the photo make every event that's happened since ep 64 feel extremely rushed, like the events all happened one after another. especially on the Ed and Winry side of things
(also I have no idea if this photo is a thing brotherhood made up or was in the manga too. I haven't ever finished the manga. also I don't care to get the photo. y'all know the one I'm talking about I hope)
spoilers:
you're telling me that this nomad. this traveler. who was shown leaving on another trip IMMEDIATELY after coming home to see winry with al in the final episode
you're telling me that he came home from his trip to I think it was another country, decided to SETTLE DOWN??? married Winry. and immediately had two kids one after another
you guys may disagree with me but. this doesn't feel like Ed. the Ed I know is a nomad. he wouldn't settle. he has his whole life ahead of him and so many places he hasn't explored and I feel like in his youth he would want to see as many sights and travel as much as possible. and settle when he's older. Winry was even lecturing him at the train station for travelling again because he doesn't take care of his automail. she knows Ed doesn't settle down for anything like self care or maintenance
----
I don't think him still being so young in that photo with two tiny kids very close in age (idk if they're twins or not) feels very much like Ed to me
also if the photo afterwards of him smiling at a train station is implying that he has kids and still goes on long trips. I'm sorry. I don't see him doing that. that's exactly what he hated Hohenheim for doing and I cannot see him inflicting absent travelling dad on his own kids.
----
To look at this from Winry's perspective... She's a career girly. I don't think she would want to give up her mechanic work to have kids. And I don't think a mechanic's workshop is a safe place to raise children at all.
And to go back to the travelling Edward point again... There's absolutely no way she'd be ok with him leaving so often while she's at home raising their kids. She wouldn't stand for that all
----
I just don't think someone who wants to travel and someone who focuses on their work are very compatible with children at all. Especially so young

Power Armor Stuff it seems weird Fallout 4 didn't have
I'm feeling ramble-y.
Junk/Salvage Armor Types for the Minutemen, Railroad, Children of Atom, and Atom Cats. With the role power armor plays, variants of the "Raider" type for other factions with slightly different stats but very different aesthetics would have seemed a no-brainer. (That and making all the paint jobs work on all the models so you can mix-and-match your look, but hey.)
Minuteman armor would be junk-y but cleaner than raider armor and with revolutionary touches to the plating. The face-shield of the helmet would be repurposed from a destroyed minuteman statue, and the helmet would have a tri-corn hat design. It would have the option for a backpack mod for the chest for extra storage, since transporting supplies is part of the whole "help-the-commonwealth" ethos.
Railroad Armor would be locomotive themed and designed around fighting robots and synths. Special options for a stealth chest mod that would give a big bonus against robots/synths with a lesser one to other enemy types. Railroad paint job provides protection against energy weapons, etc.
Children of Atom armor would be like raider armor but made of higher-tech parts, while being more ramshackle, with glowing green chunks of exposed power source visible in the armor. Rad-emitter mod. Has almost no radiation shielding.
Atom Cat Armor would be made of car parts. Exhaust pipes, bumper-shoulders, basically think an Autobot not designed to transform and made out of a muscle car. The Atom cat paint deco should be as shiny and clean as imaginable without looking completely out of place.
And while not faction-based, a raider armor type that clads their armor in repurposed super-mutant armor is just... so obvious.
As for DLC Power Armor:
How is it that the Rust Devils don't have an armor type built from robot parts? How does the faction of robot-obsessed weirdos not have robot power armor?
And imagine how cool it would be if the custom power armor for Nuka world was an anamatronic park mascot armor? Cartoony Nuka-Bear Head, the kids would love it.
You could put the Children of Atom armor in Far Harbor, but the lack of a diving suit armor is striking.
Some of these could just be specific parts, like helmets, but the power armor just seemed undercooked for how big of a mechanic it was.
-
And speaking of power armor, there should have been a power armor factory in/outside of Boston.
Or, if not a factory, a military depot specifically for power armor, or an armor-developing vault. This would be a higher-tier area, one you'd hear about in rumors. This is the first Fallout with a heavy power armor focus, and the first with salvaged/junk armor, so tying that to a regional abundance of armor makes sense and would put the concept front-facing in the story as well as the gameplay.
When you get there there's actually not much in the way of power armor left because you've been beaten to the punch... which is why every Tom, Dick, and Immorten Joe has power armor by the time you're high level. The Commonwealth has been raiding this place a bit at a time since the war, and the use and maintenance of power armor is now a part of the post-war society.
This could be its own area, or it could be a better use of Fort Strong (More power armor in the basement would be a big temptation for the Brotherhood, maybe unlock a new brotherhood armor style post-mission).

A third railroad union has rejected a tentative labor deal, a move that further raises the odds that America's 110,000 freight railroad workers will go on strike early next month.
The rank and file members of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers [IBB] voted against a tentative agreement reached in September, according to the union and the railroads. [...]
The union represents about 300 workers who repair and rebuild diesel locomotives and railroad tracks. It is the smallest of 13 unions that represent more than 100,000 union members at the nation's major freight railroads. But if any of those unions do strike the railroads, its picket lines would honored by the other unions, which would shutdown a still vital link in the nation's supply chain.[...]
In October members of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employes District (BMWED), which represents about 23,000 track maintenance workers, voted to reject a similar tentative deal. So did the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen [BRS], who maintain the signal system needed to run the railroads. The two unions are set to go on strike as soon as December 4.[...]
The two largest rail unions, representing the engineers and conductors who make up the two-person train crews, are holding their own ratification votes, the results of which will be known on November 21.
Each union rejecting ratification raises the odds that one of them could go on strike, which would be enough to shut down the four major US freight railroads. Unless new deals can be reached that can win ratification votes, the only way to prevent a strike would be through Congressional action that orders workers to stay on the job[...]
Labor Secretary Marty Walsh, who was involved in a marathon 20-hour bargaining session between rail management and three of the unions in September to avert a strike, said last month he remains hopeful that the unions and management will be able to reach new agreements acceptable to rank and file members.
Without such progress, though, Congress will have to act to prevent a strike, he said.

So I finally jump into the water and get back to create content... I hope y'all are going to be kind to me .. please! ~ Here we go, my headcanon about brotherhood on the Clone Force 99'
The gif have been made by @lisasstars and dividers by @djarrex!
Tumblr media
*Echo & Tech:
He makes sure to ask to the medics all the questions on the medical process, to correctly understand why they was doing this, and repeat it and when they will be out of reach of specialists.
The googled clone made A LOT of research on prosthetics maintenance, progress on new technologies, and biological treatment to take care of his newly arrived brother, to help him in the best way, reduce pain and possible enhanced the prosthetics. Echo is very grateful of this, and how Tech tried his best to be gentle during their medical sessions and how he tried to avoid using to much technology (echo is still uncomfortable being scanned and having probe and medical droid around him.
They are two nerds. They are both passionate and can debate on subjects that they loved or try projects together for hour without seeing the time fleeting.
Together, they created various new games. Soon enough, it had interest Omega and now it have become a tradition to inventing new social games, crafting funny project, or just listening Tech storytelling the last holo he found interesting.
Tumblr media
*Echo and Crosshair:
They had mutual respect to each other.  When rescued Echo, how, at the border of life and death, he has fight with other to defend the Skako Minor native and his brothers. It had very much impressed Crosshair.
Echo, even if he haven’t knows them for as long as the other, can perceives Cross’s feelings the most accurately.
Crosshair was always ready to jump in and help Echo – but in a way that doesn’t show he was assisting him. Like that, Echo doesn’t feels a burden or just an helpless shiny. And cross keep his « I’m uninterested » sabbac face while helping.
Tumblr media
*Crosshair and Tech:
The sniper, even if he was snarling, doesn’t like at all when Regs was messing around Tech. It had leads to a lot of fights. No one annoys his brothers. It’s his own (and Wrecker) duty. (Officially, but of course deep inside he cares about them).
Even if Tech was sometimes lecturing him after how “it’s idiot to answer to this lesser lifeform with fists, that s put us on the same bestiality blablabla” (or something like that), at the end f the day he was happy that his brother defends him.
Tech was spending a lot of time into the library. Crosshair and Hunter sometimes joins him to enjoy the quiet and restful place, without any pressure from kaminoans.
When Tech wanted to look at laboratory place where he doesn’t have access to, Crosshair was always ready to cover his back and watch if no one was going to interrupt his research.
Tumblr media
*Crosshair and Wrecker:
Always up to break the rules and mayhem.
They we’re making pranks together (but that wasn’t in a mean way.)
Cross is the one who had requested to 99 to craft a plush for Wrecker.
Wrecker had a smooth effect on Cross. He helped unintentionally (or not) to lull him to sleep. Either it’s his snoring who cool him down and proves that they are safe, and keeps him grounded. Either Wrecker use Crosshair as body heat and plush. Or just half lay on him, to prevent him to moves and obliged him to sleep.
As the big guy is very attentive to others, he often saw that either Crosshair or Hunter was having headaches, and naturally taking care of them, given them fresh towel to put on their forehead, refilled their glass of water, spoiled them with his own favorite snacks.
Tumblr media
*Wrecker and Tech:
Wrecker steal food at the refectory to feed his brother as “he was too skinny”.
Tech was giving him lessons and helping him to understand everything he needs to pass all the mental and knowledge exam the Kaminoans imposed. He tries various approach , and made a lot of research to adapts the lessons in a ludic ways so Wrecker gets it. Wrecker isn’t dumb at all, but he needs to be stimulated to get interested in learning things.
They both can’t stay in place and always had to keep their mind(for Tech) and body (Wrecker) busy.
Wrecker hugs and reassure Tech when he got panics attacks or nightmares, for as long he needed.
Tumblr media
*Crosshair and Hunter:
When they were younger, they always duel each other. They both “officially” fighting for the leader spot, or who was the better in any of the exercises the Kaminoans was giving them.
They understand each other pains and often both got strong headaches.
When they had grown up and they had been tested for who would be their squad leader. During the personal interview, Cross said he wasn’t interested into it. He had realized how much it was important to Hunter and that he was doing his best to take care of all of them. Of course, he fake anger when the results have been announced, but the smile that Hunter made was worth it. Hunter suspects that his brother had indeed refused the post, but they never spoke about it.
Hunter can see easily when Cross is lying, even if the toothpick’s addict masters his behavior. He just shrugs and act like he was buying it, and just gives him space or stay close to supports him, when he needs it.
Cross always had an eye on Hunter (obviously all of them, but even more on him) during battle, because sometimes he can be overwhelmed by his senses, and can lose slightly focus. So, Cross is ready to take down any enemy that he would have missed.
Tumblr media
*Hunter:
is the Dad™ / big bro of the group. Since they are little, he is the one who naturally take care of his brothers, and do his best to keep them safe and happy.
was the one who steal romantic and erotic holo picture and holo novel from the Regs. (Tech was grumpy at the beginning, then he grows up.)
is very clever and had great mind for making tactics and plans. He is kind hearted and loves his bro … but sometimes he didn’t know how to deal with them (even more when they was are teenage period, Wrecker and Crosshair was sometimes wild and angry and need to be busy and pull out all the energy in their body, and the frustration of their condition.)
always wakes up in the early hour of night, when they are on permission/resting day, to put Tech on bed(if he had fall asleep somewhere, or push him to go to sleep if he is still awake and busy), put Lula nearby Wrecker when she had fall from his bunk, pulls cover up on Echo/Crosshair.
often leaves their favorite treats and little gift in an unexpecting place.
Tumblr media
*Omega:
Echo is the one who is the hardest to corrupt. As the “group mom”, he tried to gave her an healthy growing and the love, support and attention that every other clone (outside Boba) didn’t have got as child.
As Echo had still a lot of nightmares, she often sneaks on his hammock/bunk and that calm his dream.
The tiny bean and Wrecker had begun to bake and cook together for the Batch. With the love of eating of W and the resolve of O, they get better at it fast. And everyone are just very happy to eat tasty food and not army ration.
The two of them makes funny traps to their brothers.
Tech get into the teacher role, obviously. He is patient, but he had high waiting from his sister. He knows that she is really clever, and try to gently push her to her best potential.
When they spend time together, it could be as Omega just starring at him and listening as he his doing repair on the Marauder, or them making science experiment together (like in school class).
But more surprising, he is the one who take care of her hairstyle. He comb her hair, cut it, try funny things when she asks him to… They even dye some strands one day with fruits.
Tumblr media
* Other:
Boba was originally designed “Alpha”; so I HC that “Omega” was designated like that by the Kaminoans. While she grows up; she is going to choose a new name on her own.
A squad in the GAR is 9 trooper led by a sergeant…we also have some other example like Slick’s squad where they are 6. Special operation unit had squad with 4trooper and a sergeant (like Delta squad). The D-squad was 5 droid and a CT. So I had mixed all of this and goes with
That gives The 4 (and Omega set aside) that we knows, and I add: 2 that Kaminoans scientist have tried to boost/add/manipule midi-chlorian to make them strong-sensitive. One died on their tube, and the other during childhood. There was also one who was created as an infiltrator, with enhancement of agility and speed. He died during a training. [I’m still developing this so it can change]

not robot whump but like. if anyone here has seen fma or fma brotherhood, my favourite scenes r whenever ed gets his automail destroyed/torn off. i just have a huge love for any sort of amputation related whump but its usually so permanent and cant be done repeatedly BUT WITH ROBOTS-

Barbara by Jacques Prévert
War does not spare the life of people you love, it takes without counting and never returns anyone!  For almost a year the war rages on my continent, 2,000 km from my country...
I know words are powerless but I wish to share a poem to all people suffering from war here in the hope, perhaps naïve, that it has a comforting effect.

Remember Barbara It rained all day on Brest that day And you walked smiling Flushed enraptured streaming-wet In the rain Remember Barbara It rained all day on Brest that day And I ran into you in Siam Street You were smiling And I smiled too Remember Barbara You whom I didn't know You who didn't know me Remember Remember that day still Don't forget A man was taking cover on a porch And he cried your name Barbara And you ran to him in the rain Streaming-wet enraptured flushed And you threw yourself in his arms Remember that Barbara And don't be mad if I speak familiarly I speak familiarly to everyone I love Even if I've seen them only once I speak familiarly to all who are in love Even if I don't know them Remember Barbara Don't forget That good and happy rain On your happy face On that happy town That rain upon the sea Upon the arsenal Upon the Ushant boat Oh Barbara What shitstupidity the war Now what's become of you Under this iron rain Of fire and steel and blood And he who held you in his arms Amorously Is he dead and gone or still so much alive Oh Barbara It's rained all day on Brest today As it was raining before But it isn't the same anymore And everything is wrecked It's a rain of mourning terrible and desolate Nor is it still a storm Of iron and steel and blood But simply clouds That die like dogs Dogs that disappear In the downpour drowning Brest And float away to rot A long way off A long long way from Brest Of which there's nothing left.

Log 10.28.81 20:19: Today was very full. Woke up early and made my way to the radioactive field. Got that igniting agent from a field. Found some good stuff in a crashed car south of that. Crushed some more Vipers. Got everything back to the religious ghouls and by the Gods the rockets actually fucking launched.
Then I made my way back to Novac. Manny, that sniper, told me Checkers and the Khans were heading to Boulder City. I'll catch up in a bit, first I decided to check out HELIOS One. NCR considers me a friend, so no worries there. Mr. Fantastic, an imbecile, with a "theoretical" degree in physics is in charge. A Follower though, Ignacio, much more reasonable. Had a long discussion about a hidden super weapon. Gonna reroute power to the whole grid to ensure equality. Thats tomorrow though.
I hacked my way into a locked up Maintenance Closet. Low and behold it had some Brotherhood secrets. Managed to pick up a fresh weapon, special made, Tesla Revolver. Might be tempted to double back around, seems maybe there was something at Black Mountain? Though I'm not sure I'd stand a chance there, radio makes it sound like that place is crawling with anti human Super Mutants.

georgia doesn’t actively run around with a bunch of them (or even recruit them at all depending on the person) but here are her thoughts on all the companions <3
codsworth: pre-war, georgia was the one who wanted to get a mr. handy unit while nate wasn’t a huge fan of the idea, so georgia was responsible for all of codsworth’s maintenance. since she was home a lot the two were fairly close. post-war, she keeps him in sanctuary mostly because she assumes that’s what he prefers, but also because she doesn’t want him to get seriously messed up in the wasteland (and thus losing one of her last connections to her old life).
dogmeat: ADORES HIM OBVS. georgia has always been a dog person & that did not chance after she got thawed out. she realized super quick that he was a pretty smart dog & uses that to her advantage in fights. she’s worked out a series of whistles he’ll respond to in order to do this (think sheep dog whistles).
preston: her right hand man ! she looks up to him as much as he looks up to her as general. she puts him in charge of sanctuary when she’s gone & trusts him with her life.
danse: she helped him out at the police station, but wasn’t too sure about the vibes the brotherhood were putting off, so she didn’t accept his offer to join. that’s about the extent of their interactions until she has to take out the prydwen
piper: besties !! georgia always brings back news from the commonwealth whenever she goes through diamond city & they’ll make a night out of it just chillin in piper’s house while she takes notes on her terminal.
nick: she respects nick a lot ! she’ll help him with cases from time to time, but the two are content just chatting & catching up. nick accidentally gives georgia a chain smoking habit lmao.
hancock: georgia respects him in a different way than she respects nick. more “you’re the authority here & im not gonna mess with that.” overall she thinks he’s alright & agrees with his general message.
maccready: loathes him obvs.
cait: georgia cleared out the combat zone & met cait then, but they absolutely did not get along. i feel like they could be civil eventually but first impressions made georgia uninterested in getting there. she thinks cait is a bit too abrasive for her tastes. cait would think georgia too soft in turn.
curie: georgia thinks she’s neat !! loves hearing curie talk about her research & sees a little bit of her curiosity in the robot. later on, georgia throws her weight with the railroad around to put her in her synth body.
strong: has had no reason to go get him & probably would be very wary about traveling with a super mutant lmao.
deacon: she’s generally amused by him but sometimes his lying rubs her the wrong way. their vibe is just fun coworkers lmao she enjoys going on railroad missions with him.
x6-88: she likes how straightforward he is & actually finds his bluntness hilarious. she’s the only one who laughs at his jokes. she tries to get him to lighten up a bit & after destroying the institute, puts him up in one of the sanctuary houses :)

Hello~ SO. I have this character in ESO named Ysmeira. In ESO, she's a Maormer vampire Nightblade DPS for most of her playthrough, and then after Markarth she retires for a while to Artaeum and really focuses on studying with the Psijics and becomes a healer.
There's no real TL;DR for her story, so buckle up [there are spoilers for the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood storylines, as well as the main quest/base game ending and a little bit of Elsweyr and Markarth]:
Her mother, Cyrella, is a Maormer Dragonknight healer. She's always been connected to dragons, she can't quite explain why or how, so she set out to study them and to learn how to incorporate the Thuum into her healing magic somehow. This led her to lots of old Dragonguard sanctums, and she ran into Ysmeira's dad at one of them.
Her father, Ysgafn, is a half-Altmer, half-Nord Templar tank. He's from the area of Cyrodiil that borders with the Valenwood, and was one of the last officers of the Dragonguard in the era before Sai Sahan's time (yeah, Ysgafn's OLD-old). He traveled between old Dragonguard sanctums on his own all the time, maintaining them here and there, salvaging any texts that may have been left behind, etc., and one day ran into Cyrella.
Of course, the two expected this encounter to be tense and fraught with violence, as encounters between Altmer and Maormer tended to be, but they each hesitated, and neither of them took advantage of this to do anything but peacefully (albeit tensely) part ways. They ran into each other a few more times, or otherwise one could tell whenever they had just missed the other, over the next couple months, until eventually one of them left a note for the other.
Eventually, they decided to wait for each other at what they anticipated to be the next Dragonguard sanctum on their route, and they finally spoke and got to know each other. Cyrella told Ysgafn of her inexplicable connection to dragons, hence her curiosity in any knowledge the Dragonguard may have of them, and Ysgafn offered to let her read the texts he had collected over the years. She never gets any answers as to how or why she feels this pull, except that perhaps it's a variation of the pull most Maormer have to sea serpents, but she does begin to incorporate more draconic magic into her healing and it helps her become more able to defend herself in combat as well as heal with more potency.
Over the next few years, they decided to travel between the Dragonguard sanctums together, the mission eventually becoming nearly purely maintenance rather than study, until Cyrella got pregnant and they decided to settle down.
They knew settling down as a Maormer + Altmer couple wouldn't be easy in most larger cities, and they still wanted some proximity to Dragonguard sanctums, so they decided to settle in the Stitches in Elsweyr.
Ysmeira grew up there, with the first ten years or so of her life being relatively lonely, but sprinkled with light-fingered mischief. There weren't a whole lot of kids in the Stitches, and most of the ones that passed through were with merchants who weren't too keen on hanging around a place like the Stitches for long, let alone letting their children run around with a child *from* the Stitches.
One night while Ysmeira was preparing to steal a bejeweled urn from someone's house, a small Breton girl and Argonian boy snuck up on her and offered to distract the homeowner while Ysmeira got in and out with the urn. Surprised by the Breton's mischievousness (and Ta'agra accent), Ysmeira agreed, and they ran off with their prize to the nearest fence (Humble Zaham).
She learned that the girl's name was Ashraf, and the boy's Dances-with-Dead. They grew up in an orphanage in Bravil, raised by their Khajiit caretaker, Ilari. (Ashraf was just an infant when she was brought to the orphanage, Dances was already about 7 when he was separated from his family and brought to the orphanage, hence Ashraf having an accent and Dances not. Dances also has selective mutism, like my IRL little sister, so his voice is rarely heard as it is.)
Ashraf, Ysmeira, and Dances become a thieving trio, and even earn themselves a collective nickname: Sticky-Paws, which Ashraf assumes the mantle of when Ysmeira and Dances eventually leave the Stitches.
Ysmeira and Ashraf have an intense on-again/off-again romantic relationship from about their late teens until their mid-twenties, and during one of their off periods, Ysmeira meets Quen in the Rimmen Outlaws Refuge. Begin Thieves Guild storyline [spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn't played through it].
At the end of the zone storyline, when Zeira asks the player character to deal with ~that one person~, Ysmeira takes it to mean deal with them, and... sort of kills them. Whoopsie. Zeira claimed to have been fine with this outcome before Ysmeira set out, but when Ysmeira got back and reported what she'd done, Zeira became distant from her and put her on less and less significant assignments.
Quen rose in the ranks in the Thieves Guild, which Ysmeira was proud of her for and supportive of, but this also meant Quen would be working more closely with Zeira, which made Ysmeira nervous. She and Quen would get into mild arguments about it every so often, but one day Quen dropped a, "She didn't ask you to kill them," and it just stunned Ysmeira.
Ysmeira went for a walk to clear her head, and was attacked by some bloodfiends along the way. She got away, but not before getting bitten by one. She went home, frantically cleaned the wound as best she could, and went to bed.
For the next couple days, she thought she was fine, the bite seeming to heal, and no other symptoms seeming to crop up. Until a couple nights later, she had a horrible fever, and even more horrible dreams to go with it, to include one of her killing Quen. She looked down at the wound and saw that it had completely healed, and her skin was paler than before, with her veins being just the slightest bit more visible... and she was hungry, so she decided to leave before she could hurt Quen.
She spent a long time feeding on bloodfiends (not a good thing to do, but she couldn't bring herself to hurt people) and animals, struggling to satiate her appetite, but struggling even more with the idea of eventually snapping and hurting an innocent person.
Eventually she decided to begin feeding on the worst of the worst kind of people, but the first person she fed on opened the flood gates, and she found it very hard to be patient and picky, until one day she nearly drained an innocent. This sent her into an absolute spiral, and she wound up back at the Stitches, knocking on Ashraf's door.
They had ~a night~ together, even though Ashraf could tell from the jump that something was off. Ysmeira was very obviously changed physically, but Ashraf could see that she was emotionally and mentally falling apart. [I uh... have a NSFW fic of this night.... 👀👉🏼👈🏼] They decide once again to go their separate ways, and Ysmeira heads back to Rimmen to head off to somewhere else entirely. She ends up at the Outlaws Refuge, familiar territory, when she's beckoned over to a corner by Amelie Crow. Begin Dark Brotherhood storyline [some spoilers ahead here, too, but I'll try to keep it vague like I did for the Thieves Guild].
Right off the bat, Ysmeira did not like Amelie. Ysmeira's killing was never about any deranged desire to snuff the light out of someone's eyes, it was a byproduct of her lack of control of her new monstrous condition, a result of her curse. She did, however, like the appeal of having a direction to point her nature in.
For a long time, rather than using the Blade of Woe, Ysmeira would simply ~dine~ on her contracts' targets. Eventually, this caught the attention of the wrong people, to include Mel Adrys. Elam Drals caught wind of this before Matron Astara did, so he decided to talk to her about it [I also have a fic that flashes back to this, hehe]. He takes the time to get through to Ysmeira, and eventually she becomes one of the Brotherhood's top assassins.
Over time, Elam and Ysmeira fall in love, and after all is said and done with the Dark Brotherhood quest line (I guess I didn't really have to go into anything spoil-y after all, so that's nice!), they decide to take a rest in Stonefalls for a while.
While in Stonefalls, Elam hears rumblings about Baar Dau in Vvardenfell, and something strange happening with Vivec. [I have an entire other life thought up for Elam from before his time in the Dark Brotherhood. He was a member of the Morag Tong who got tired of the Houses' squabbling and eventually became the Scarlet Judge for a time. He was eventually put on a writ by one of the Houses for the Morag Tong to carry out, but it didn't demand his death - only that he was kidnapped and taken to Ashalmawia. Ironically, an assassin he trained (another OC of mine named Kaia) was the one to take the writ. She took him to the designated place, and then watched in horror as he was taken and sacrificed by the Worm Cult. Somehow he was spat out of Coldharbour into the sea off the Gold Coast, and he woke up being kidnapped once again, this time by the smugglers near the Withered Rose. He essentially Jason Bourne'd them all because of course he did, and took the name Elam Drals off a letter he saw in the cellar he escaped from.] He couldn't remember his life before the Brotherhood, but he'd always felt drawn to Vvardenfell, and so wanted to check it out. Begin the Daedric Wars storylines.
Ysmeira and Elam resolve everything in Vvardenfell, and realize that Elam's mother is Dredyni Imayn in Suran. She recognizes him one day while he's out in town (out of DB clothing) and tells him all about him growing up there with just her, the two of them against the world (she didn't know about his being in the Morag Tong, so couldn't fill him in there). He decides to stay with his mother and catch up while Ysmeira goes to the Clockwork City, giving her an enchanted earring before she goes. The earring allows her to call on him while they're apart to protect her [the Summon Shade Nightblade ability - JB Blanc does the voice for it, so I headcanon that it's a sort of astral projection of a part of Elam's consciousness being summoned to defend her], so he feels better about them being apart. It's also their first time apart since he helped her get her vampirism under control, so it was something that needed to happen anyway to essentially kind of make sure she wasn't dependent on him to stay on the straight and narrow, so to speak.
After the events of CWC, Ysmeira tells Elam that there's going to be trouble in Summerset, and it's the first time in a long time the subject of Quen comes up. Elam knows Ysmeira is still very much in love with her, and so he decides that while she goes to Summerset, he'll return to the Gold Coast, and if it's meant to be, they'll see each other again. Obviously this isn't easy for Ysmeira, but she agrees, and they part ways for the time being.
Ysmeira and Quen do reconnect in Summerset, and after the conflict is resolved there, they take some time away at the Psijic Villa. They decide to start a new chapter of the Thieves Guild in Shimmerene, and settle there for a time.
Eventually, Quen and Ysme get the itch to go on a real heist, instead of sending folks on one or just planning one but not being able to go do it. They decide to finish out Kari's list back in Abbah's Landing, and go for one of the relics in the Alik'r Desert. During the heist, while Ysmeira's keeping a lookout for Quen, she notices a dark figure crawling in through the window of the innkeeper's office. She almost calls out to the innkeeper when she realizes that the shadowy figure is none other than Elam, completing a contract. After his work is done, Ysme gets his attention and they catch up a little before Ysme introduces Elam and Quen.
Because I am made of 100% bi/pan panic, they do become a throuple and it's wholesome as heck. Elam and Quen have sneaking and lockpicking competitions (during which Ysme usually picks their pockets), and they just all generally help each other hone their specific skills.
After the events of Elsweyr, Elam catches wind of trouble in Auridon - something that triggers a flood of memories from his old life. The three decide to investigate, and so begin their journey through the game's main questline. They go through the entire Aldmeri Dominion storyline, when Ysmeira is essentially held up by Meridia, who tells her she'll receive a boon if she relives the events through her enemies' eyes (so, Cadwell's Silver and Cadwell's Gold). After completing this (which, in my canon she doesn't exactly have a choice, because... Daedric Prince, and all; it's basically presented as, "Sure, you can leave my Many Colored Rooms... as long as you do this. And don't worry, you'll get a treat at the end, too."), the "boon" she gets from Meridia is a cleansing of her vampirism.
This sends Ysmeira into a ~ s p i r al ~ of all spirals. She spent so long, and worked so hard, to get her vampirism under control, and to accept it as a new part of her... and then Meridia just zaps it away without asking.
Before I get into Markarth I'll just also say: I canon that Cadwell's Silver and Gold happen as a timewarp, since you are reliving the events that have already occurred. So, for Ysmeira, the events take as long as they take, but for Quen and Elam, nothing even really happened, they just got Ysmeira's soul back from Molag Bal and then boom - she's zapped into and back out of a fancy Welkynd stone she just touched, and she's not a vampire anymore.
SO. Between the last and second to last quests in Markarth, Ysmeira and Verandis have a long talk. He could tell when he first met her that something was different and familiar about her, which usually indicates to him that the person is a vampire, but he could also tell that she wasn't a vampire. BUT, the dude is a specialist in auramancy, so of course he's the only one from Ysmeira's timewarp that has even the slightest chance of maybe remembering having met her before (I canon that the rest of the NPCs don't, even though in-game dialogue reflects that they do), so when she explains what happened, he's floored by it, but 100% believes it.
She basically begs him to make her a vampire again, but he refuses. He says that he won't impose that on her, but that if she seeks it out elsewhere, he won't judge her for it. He also says that whether she ever becomes a vampire again or not, she will always have a home with the Ravenwatch, which just about crushes her heart into a million pieces (in a good way™).
After Markarth, the throuple takes some time off, with Ysmeira refocusing her energies into becoming a healer (though she's still a badass assassin and thief, of course). ALL OF THAT TO SAY.... Ysmeira is my Redemption Durge in BG3. In Faerûn, Quen is dead, and is Ysme's Dream Guardian (because who doesn't love torturing their OCs?). For some reason, I've decided to also torture myself, and make Ysmeira's run an Honour Mode run, so that's... great.🫠
In one of my runs so far, she didn't dream about Quen until after the first time she slept with Astarion, because of course she didn't.🫠 It was pretty perfect, though, and I think regardless of when it happens in future runs, I'm always going to canon that that's when it happens.
Astarion is of course her Elam, though he's also kind of representative of early vampirism!Ysme, which I love.
Abdirak has a HUGE impact on Ysmeira, even though the interaction in-game is really small. If I could do it mechanically, she would definitely convert to being a Cleric of Loviatar somewhere down the line, but since I can't, I'm going to multiclass her into Monk the next time she levels up after that interaction, and then possibly Cleric of Ilmater when we reach Wyrm's Crossing (if I ever get there again, lol).
Shadowheart and Ysmeira don't get along well at first, because she reminds her too much of Ashraf. She doesn't get along well with Lae'zel, but she does like her, I think, because she probably reminds her of a more militant Velsa.
Anyway, thanks for coming to my really long TEDTalk, I look forward to sharing more with ya!🥰

The US’s third-largest railroad union rejected a deal with employers Monday, renewing the possibility of a strike that could cripple the economy. Both sides will return to the bargaining table before that happens.[...]
Over half of track maintenance workers represented by the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division who voted opposed the five-year contract, which contained 24% raises and $5,000 in bonuses. Union President Tony Cardwell said the railroads didn’t do enough to address the lack of paid time off – particularly sick time – and working conditions after the major railroads eliminated nearly one-third of their jobs over the past six years.
“Railroaders are discouraged and upset with working conditions and compensation and hold their employer in low regard. Railroaders do not feel valued,” Cardwell said in a statement. “They resent the fact that management holds no regard for their quality of life, illustrated by their stubborn reluctance to provide a higher quantity of paid time off, especially for sickness.”[...]
Joe Biden pressured the railroads and unions to reach a deal last month ahead of a mid-September deadline to allow a strike or walkout. Many businesses also urged Congress to be ready to intervene in the dispute and block a strike if an agreement wasn’t reached because so many companies rely on railroads to deliver their raw materials and finished products.[...]
The Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way union said it agreed to delay any strike until five days after Congress reconvenes in mid-November to allow time for additional negotiations.
