I took these pictures 2 days ago when it was sunny, I felt really pretty and my outfit came together naturally, was a really happy day

The day after I was supposed to meet up with some friends and I put on makeup and literally took it straight off again, layed down and felt sorry for myself. I really couldn't bring myself to leave the house feeling as low and ugly as I did

Dysphoria got the better of me, even though I knew seeing my friends would probably cheer me up, and what I was actually getting down about was all conjured up in my head. I still couldn't shake the feeling.

Sometimes dysphoric feelings have no rhyme or reason and they just demand to be acknowledged regardless

Days like yesterday are thankfully rare for me, I've come a long way both physically and mentally though my transition and I can feel it within myself every day the sheer growth I've accomplished

I feel like gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia are individuals battles, and while you can overall win a war you sometimes loose a battle or two along the way That's fine, no one is infallible

I'm not writing this for sympathies, I feel fine now. But if you're trans or recovering from dysmorphic thoughts just be aware that sometimes you'll have a bad day no matter how far you've come and that it's just a part of the journey ☮

My Boho Spirit - Summer By the Sea

I cannot even begin to describe how much I love this time of the day at Bald Head Island…especially in late summer! The sun is just beginning to set and the water shimmers as the light hits the waves! It truly is magical to be here and experience nature so beautifully! The sound of the waves as they crash on the shore, the still warm breeze, the moon rising as the sun sets - it takes my breath every time!

At around 6:30 or 7 pm, the light is ideal for pictures and I never mind getting dressed and taking a golf cart ride to get some great shots! This is also such a perfect setting for my gorgeous boho clothing from Johnny Was! These timeless pieces are exquisitely made and the detail is beyond gorgeous!

The sheer mesh dress I’m wearing here is has floral embroidery and comes with a long slip to wear underneath. A piece this gorgeous doesn’t need much in the way of accessories and on the beach, shoes are never necessary!

I styled this perfect for early fall sheer blouse with light wash denim and let the breeze flow through. I chose to wear a black bra underneath, but it comes with a dark grey cami when more coverage is wanted. These pieces from Johnny Was are special pieces that will stay in your closet for years to come. The blouse can be dressed up or down but my favorite way to wear it is with jeans.
