#Athena 1954
Text
Dissapointed that this lyric was cut from Athena (1954)
Imagine that I'm the ocean
Imagine that you're the shore
I'd drench you with damp devotion
I'd pour it before you and roar "I adore you"

What if i included Athena (1954) in either the portfolio reflection paper that I’m writing or whatever broader analysis flows from it? That would be an unprecedented level of like classically-me ways of processing life. It would be as if Colin ended up changing my life as radically as Austin McCullough, my senior year BYU boyfriend, changed mine when he dumped me.

Spotted the Parthenon!
Before I begin my studies at Plato’s Academy, I have come to Athens to acquaint myself with the city.  As I wandered around I found myself standing before the magnificent Parthenon. I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by how beautiful the temple was. Being the philosopher I am, I knew how much the building before me meant to this city and its people.
The Parthenon was a symbol of worship to the goddess Athena, and being near it felt exhilarating. The monument before me was not just an ode to the goddess, but to the power of Athens at the time. This temple lies at the center of the Acropolis, where I am surrounded by other important buildings in the city.
Looking closely, I could tell that the temple had been constructed using the finest materials available, and intricate details were etched into it. Around me, I could see wealthy and educated Athenians, as well as other visitors like myself, paying respects to the goddess Athena. The space around me was constantly full of conversation, ranging from politics in the city-state to current philosophical ideas.
The sounds and smells of the city of Athens also filled the air. I was able to hear the busy city, street vendors calling out to the crowd, and the laughs of people enjoying the company. I could smell incense and the occasional smoke from people burning the offerings they had. This visit was incredible, and it served as a reminder of how much was achieved by those before me.
