congrats on the follower milestone!! as a sidenote we've apparently been mutuals for like 8 years now 😲 anyway I miss my boys so if you could do fili & kili + 12 + spring I would absolutely love that 🖤💚 you can find me on ao3 as galaxy_ghost btw!
ty <333 omg we've been mutuals pretty much as long as i've been on tumblr haha!
this turned into a Kiliel ficlet as much as it is a Kili & Fili ficlet, hope you don't mind! modern/college(?) AU ft. silly boys and aro Fili!!
~
“I know that you’re scared—”
“I am not scared!” Kíli protested. “I’m just being cautious—”
Fíli grinned. “That sounds like an excuse to me.”
“I am not scared,” he repeated. “I just don’t wanna mess this up!”
“If you don’t ask her soon, I will,” Fíli threatened.
Kíli scoffed. “You don’t even like her!”
“Sure I do. She’s nice, and smart, and—”
“Not—not like I like her, I mean.” Kíli scowled.
“Of course not.” Fíli wrinkled his nose. “But if you’re going to make me go to this stupid dance, I might as well have a date. A friend-date, I mean.”
“I’ll hang out with you,” Kíli said, pouting.
“Not if you ask out Tauriel,” Fíli countered.
“Well, if you do, then I can’t—”
“Do what?”
Kíli jumped out of his chair, blushing. “Tauriel!” he exclaimed. “Um—we were just—I was wondering—about the dance...”
“Actually, I came to talk to you about just that.” She smiled, a little shyly, and tucked a strand of red hair behind her ear. “Would you like to go with me, Kíli? As my date?”
Fíli snorted quietly. Kíli was going to murder him.
“Um—I—yes, yes!” he blurted out. “Absolutely! I—oh, gosh—I was wondering how to ask you—”
“Aww.” Was Kíli imagining things, or was she blushing a little? “I’m looking forward to it.” She checked her watch. “Ah, I’ve got class soon, I’ve got to go. Text me?”
“Uh-huh!” Kíli said, and kicked himself for sounding so stupid. “Um—bye! Have a good time in class!”
“You too,” she said, and gave him a fond smile before she walked away.
As she disappeared out of sight, Kíli buried his face in his hands and groaned.
“What’s the matter now?” Fíli teased. “You got what you wanted—and you didn’t have to ask her yourself!”
“I’m such an idiot,” he mumbled.
Fíli patted him on the back. “I think she likes that about you.” Then he punched him lightly, and Kíli yelped. “I don’t, though. You should make the first move next time, at least so I don’t have to put up with your romantic misery.”
“I promise I won’t ignore you at the dance,” Kíli said earnestly. “Even with Tauriel there! You’re my brother, Fí.”
Fíli waved a hand. “Nah, have fun with your date! Ori and I were planning on going together, then leaving early to get ice cream or something. Dances aren’t really either of our thing.”
“You sure?” Kíli said. “I really don’t want to make you feel left out.”
“Positive.” Fíli gave his arm a quick squeeze. “Just as positive as I am that you were scared to ask her out!”
“Was not—”
But deep down, Kíli was glad Tauriel had done the asking. And now that he was sure she liked him—at least enough to task him to the dance—he wouldn’t be nearly as intimidated when it came time to plan their second date.

I didn’t write a lot of fic in 2020. But I did write a very long one that is very dear to my heart. And honestly, that’s probably far more important to me.
What are your five most popular works of all time? (starting with the most kudos)
1. Till the End of the Line | MCU/DC | Stuckony - abo fic where tony is impregnated with steve and bucky’s pups when he’s young and later in life has to face the two super soldiers when civil war goes down. 1,506 kudos
2. Not in front of the kids | MCU | Ironpanther - porn with plot, arranged marriage. T’Challa bends Tony over a table in Tony’s lab and has his way with him. 954 kudos
3. Nice Work, Kid | MCU | Gen fic | Tony listens to the messages of his spider son. 779 kudos
4. Bound by honor | MCU/DC | Ironpanther | Tony is the son of Steve Trevor and Diana Prince. His mother gives him up at birth and he’s adopted by the Stark’s. When they die, Obediah arranges a marriage to the prince of Wakanda. Based on this gifset. 697 kudos
5. A grinding day | MCU | Stony - Fake dating.  Tony's parents are inviting him for a family dinner as an offer of reconciliation after a gruesome fight five years prior. And although Tony would love to see his mother and brothers again, he's not too keen on reuniting with his homophobic father. So what's the best way to piss Howard off? 572 Kudos
What are your five least popular works? (starting with the least kudos)
1. The way I tend to be | Teen Wolf | The DILF club - 😭 Cabin fever fic featuring a trans Chris Argent. Chris/Peter/Noah are caught in a snowstorm and hide away in a cabin. Sexy shenanigans and porn with feelings ensue. 26 kudos
2. He rises from the flames | DC | Gen fic - Mick Rory’s origin story.  As a boy Mick was bullied by a classmate, which caused him to develop Cryophobia. Or an irrational fear of the cold. One day when he is nine years old, Mick sets out to warm up his parental house, but things don't go as planned. 34 kudos
3. An unlikely pair | MCU/X-Men | Clint Barton/Victor Creed (Hawktooth) -  Clint gets paired with an unlikely ally and isn’t exactly happy with it. After all, how is he, as Omega, supposed to control an Alpha like Creed? Told from Victor’s POV. 37 kudos
4. Double Trouble | The Hobbit | Bagginshield -  Fíli and Kíli team up with two certain little elves to give their uncle Thorin and a certain little hobbit a push in the right direction. An unlikely friendship forms. 40 kudos
5. The night before Christmas | MCU/Venom | Ironsymbrock -  A little christmas story in Rhyme for the Ironsym family. (Ironfamily and Symbiote family combined) 47 kudos
Are you surprised about any of these lists? I’m really sad about The way I tend to be since I love it so much. But I’m not surprised about these lists. Wish Once Upon A Time could have made it on here in the most popular section but it just wasn’t meant to be I guess.
Optional, if you want to calculate it (remember that ao3 will count all the words in a multichap towards the year it is completed, regardless of how much was actually posted that year): How many words did you publish in 2020? 127.754 words. Though I probably have about 50,000 words of unpublished words as well.
What’s a favorite fic you published this year? Once Upon A Time and The way I tend to be. I love both of those stories.
How do you feel like you’ve improved as a writer this year? I feel like I learned how to let go of scenes, of ideas, and of the notion that everything has to be perfect. I’m much better at writing down my long stories and I’m better at handling more mature stories. And I feel like that’s actually a really good improvement.
What is something new you did writing-wise in the past year? (new fandom, pairing, setting, genre, collab, etc)
I started writing for the Teen Wolf fandom and switched to an Ot3 called the DILF club and the petopher ship and started writing in the romance genre again, though still a/b/o for the most part.
I wrote about my own trauma and what it feels like to be stuck in that and through OUAT I managed to write in a way that helped me process that. I also feel like I grew a lot maturity wise and that this year, I really tried tackling more mature stories in a way that doesn’t rely on cliches or overused tropes but on different viewpoints.
I also feel like I am finally ready to write stories about trans people, about aroace people. And I finally started to venture into that.
Because I’ve always written dark until some comments turned me off it, and now I ventured back into that.
What is something writing-related you would like to try in the future? (check back at the end of the year and see if you did it!)
I’m tackling my first underage fic which features a 17 year old Omega Peter Hale and a 23 year old Alpha Chris Argent. And I also want to write more LGBTQ+ Stories. So stories that feature trans male characters, Ace/aro characters and wrap that in a jacket of my usual a/b/o stick and see how that develops.
Today’s date, so you can see how your results might change if you do this again in a year. 4th of January 2021.
I’m tagging anyone who wants to do it.

Code of Conduct
Index: Submission Guidelines || Organization and Tagging || Rules and Regulations
~~~
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Submissions do not have to follow the prompts.
For questions on what kind of content qualifies for this event, please read our FAQ.
You can submit your content to the event in one of two ways.
Submit directly to this blog using the submit form.
Make an original post on your own blog.
If you go with the second option (most people do), there are three ways to get the attention of the blog:
Tag your post with #aspecardaweek in the first 20 tags.
@mention this blog in the body of your post.
Send your post to the mod or the blog directly via DM. (Please do not do this unless you have done both of the other things and received no response within 24 hours.)
~
Tagging guidelines:
This is NOT a guideline for how to tag so we see your post (that’s the section above), and it is also NOT a guide for how I will be tagging things on this blog. Rather, this is a guideline for how to indicate if your fanwork includes content that needs to be tagged for.
We accept content for a wide variety of themes, including works with sexual or romantic elements. I understand that not everyone wants to see that - and that some people will be looking for that kind of content specifically! - so the best way for me to deal with those competing access needs is to tag for those and other sensitive topics. This allows for blacklisting as well as a more streamlined search process.
Thus, I would very much appreciate if you indicated if your work includes any of the following:
romance
background romance
sexual themes
implied sex
NSFW/explicit sexual content
genderbending
All of these types of content are allowed, but as they are all sensitive topics to varying degrees, I want people to be able to filter these subjects in or out at their leisure. This is not a moral judgement on any of these topics, simply an organization and accessibility request.
How should I indicate if my work includes these themes? Put a brief note at the top of your post, or in the tags of your post (after tagging the blog, of course!). If you don’t indicate it, we will still accept your submission, but it might take the mod longer to queue your post since they would have to figure out if your work includes those topics or not. This applies primarily to written content, which generally takes more time and focus to absorb than visual content.  However, if your visual content isn’t explicitly clear about if it includes anything like this but you did imply it, tagging for that or mentioning it in a caption would be very helpful as well.
What are the distinctions between “sexual themes,” “implied sex,” and “explicit sexual content”? This is admittedly kind of nebulous, but in my mind I distinguish them like this: “sexual themes” is discussion of sex, thinly veiled metaphors about sex, a work that is about sex without depicting it (for example, an M-rated fic on AO3); “implied sex” would be a “fade to black” moment or a minor joke about sex (like a T-rated fic on AO3); and “explicit sexual content” is actual depictions of sex (like an E-rated fic on AO3). Use your best judgement!
Additionally, please indicate if your work includes possibly triggering content, such as the topics under the “trigger warnings” section of the Organization and Tagging part of this page.
~
Headcanon submission guidelines (expanded from the FAQ): All aspec headcanons are welcome, with or without art/fic/graphics/etc to accompany them. However, please give at least one sentence of description to the headcanon rather than just stating it. For example:
Not quite:
“Fíli is aromantic.”
“my hc is that Fíli is aro”
“Fíli is aro and there’s nothing you can do about it”
Yes, absolutely:
“I headcanon Fíli as aromantic because he doesn’t have any romantic interactions with anyone at all despite being an important character in the Hobbit movies.”
“Fíli being aro is really important to me because his relationship with his family is so central to his character and fulfilling to him.”
“Fíli is aromantic and there’s nothing you can do about it! He dotes on Kíli and Tauriel’s kids and is the best supporter to Thorin. He’s one of the first openly aro princes in Erebor’s history and he inspires other aro dwarves to be more confident in themselves.”
“Fíli is aromantic, and in this essay I will…” Headcanons in this meme format are fine, as long as you follow up with an “essay” in a reblog. In this circumstance, please tag this blog in that reblog rather than just the first part of the post.
Basically, have some substance to your headcanon beyond the bare bones statement of it.
~~~
TAGGING
This section is probably more for my own benefit than yours, but here’s some information on how tagging will work on this blog.
I like to keep my blogs organized, especially my event blogs. On this blog, I will tag for the following as a baseline:
#character (using the most common name)
#ship (if applicable; in #character x character format, alphabetically)**
#group (if applicable; examples: #feanorians, #kidnap dads, #fellowship of the ring)
#medium (fic, art, graphic, etc)
#creator (url of the creator and ao3 handle if applicable)
#prompt (if one is used)
#identity (if applicable; examples: #aromantic, #demisexual, #lithromantic)
#day (if the content is submitted for a certain day of the event)
#year (the year of the event)
None of my tags use diacritics.
**I will tag for romantic, sexual, and queerplatonic ships. There will also be an additional tag indicating what kind of relationship the ship is. In that case I will use the portmanteau version of the ship name (if it has one) just for brevity.
Examples:
a fanmix for Legolas and Gimli in a queerplatonic relationship would be tagged as #gimli x legolas, #queerplatonic, #qp gigolas, #fanmix, #music
a drawing where Fëanor and Nerdanel are in a romantic relationship and depicted in the colors of the ace flag would be tagged as #feanor x nerdanel, #romance, #romo feanel, #asexual, #art
a text post about OP’s headcanon of Arwen and Éowyn being aro friends with benefits would be tagged as #arwen x eowyn, #sexual themes, #fwb arwen x eowyn, #aromantic, #txt, #headcanon
a fic where Maedhros and Fingon are in a queerplatonic relationship and experimenting with sex would be tagged as #fingon x maedhros, #queerplatonic, #nsft, #qp russingon, #fic
Relationships that are gen, platonic, and/or familial will not be tagged for outside of their character tags.
~
In addition to these base tags, I will also tag for the following:
#romance
#background romance
#sexual themes
#implied sex
#nsft (for explicit sexual content; this is the same as “nsfw” but filtered as “not safe for tumblr” rather than “not safe for work” to avoid tumblr hiding the post in searches)
#genderbending
All of the above tags are used for organizational purposes. As for trigger warnings, I currently tag for:
#spiders /
#blood /
#gore /
#body horror /
#kincest (for incest pairings of the sibling or parent-child variety, though as per fandoms norms cousin incest will not be tagged for; I don’t expect this to come up in this event, but if it does, I will use this tag for it; I use “kincest” rather than “incest” to avoid tumblr hiding the post in searches)
If you would like certain content tagged, whether for organizational or trigger reasons, please message the blog or the mod, and I will consider adding it.
~~~
RULES
The following is a list of rules for participating in the event. Don’t be intimidated; they basically boil down to “don’t be mean” and “respect other people.” But in case you want more information on what we mean by that, here we go.
Do not repost content by other creators without their explicit permission. This includes using fanart in graphics without credit and consent from the original artist.
Respect other people’s headcanons and interpretations. Tolkien’s work has no confirmed, explicit queerness; therefore, EVERY interpretation of a character or relationship is valid. Implicit queerness can be argued to be present, but an individual’s reading of a given relationship as platonic rather than gay is still valid and is not an attack on the validity of that ship - nor is it necessarily removing queerness from the story. A platonic reading of a ship/character still allows for queerness in the form of aspec or trans identities.
Do not use this event as an excuse to be homophobic about same-gender ships. It is perfectly acceptable to be excited for an opportunity to share your platonic headcanons about 2+ characters of the same gender, but this is not a space for you to be negative about sexual or romantic content, especially when that content is about a same-gender ship.
No content or creators endorsing the following prejudices will be allowed to participate:
Homophobia
Transphobia, including nbphobia/exorsexism
Racism of any kind
Biphobia, panphobia, and other sentiments against m-spec people and identities
Polyphobia/sentiment against polyamorous people or people in relationships with more than one person
Fatphobia and body shaming
Ableism, including sentiments against neurodivergent and mentally ill people
Rhetoric against self-identification/self-labeling, including anti-microlabel sentiment
Queerphobia, including the rhetoric that “queer is a slur”
Sex negativity (distinct from personal sex repulsion/indifference) and anti-sex worker sentiment
Radical feminism in any form
Ship bashing, purity politics, condemnation of creators interested in “problematic” or sensitive content; self-described anti-shippers may participate so long as you do not bring that discourse into the event
Harassment of any kind
Fascism and alt-right politics
and of course:
Aphobia, including aspec exclusionism
Acephobia, including sentiments against sex-favorable aces
Arophobia, including sentiments against allosexual aromantic, aplatonic aromantics, or queerplatonic relationships
You may depict these things in your fanworks if you choose to, so long as they are properly warned for, but any fanwork that is bigoted in its messaging is not allowed.
Violation of these rules will result in you being blocked.
congrats on 1k!! out of pure curiosity, can you rank the company of thorin oakenshield in order of your favourites and share your hcs about their genders/sexualities?
(i hope you know this is a dangerous topic. it took me like a week to answer because i knew it would distract me and make me write some fics or draw. hopefully i can afford to lose my mind now…)
just a disclaimer: i watched the first two hobbit movies twice (although i don’t remember paying for desolation of smaug in a cinema…), read the book a few times, yet i can’t distinguish between canon and various fanfiction. only when i read the same scene/sentence in different fics, i realise it probably comes straight from the movies.
tldr.: these headcanons are very much based on fanworks bc canon is boring
thorin: GAY, aspec, in denial about everything (before meeting bilbo and having his life turned upside down)
kíli: uh… lesbian? kiliel is a lesbian ship after all, just ask the holder of that urlalso, that deleted/cut scene where he finds an elf from rivendell attractive, only to be laughed at when it’s revealed the elf is male? they company is making fun of kíli because they know he is a lesbian
fíli: aro? ace? “my gender is gold”
bofur: my first thought is “gay” because he just is the gay uncle. however he also is the “men get pegged!” type, so… bisexual?
bifur: ??? intranslatable khuzdul terms ???
bombur: is into dwarven ladies, so not 100% gay, but other than that? who knows
dwalin: probably gay. almost as much as thorin.
balin: this grandma does some lesbianism when time and old bones allow
dori: and this grandma? guess what… (*points up*)
nori: honestly i’m not sure, but… i had a dream once, where i was running down an office building and overheard a piece of conversation said by nori: “…i’m transfem…” and i was running away so i don’t remember anything else. but i believe nori, so…in all seriousness… aldjskd… shifty guy with a shifty gender sounds about right
ori: is he into guys? is he into gals? does he even care?
óin: oh??? “my gender is silver”
glóin: again, like bombur, has a wife. the others probably make fun of him saying he is the token straight of the company. he takes it. he doesn’t know what to say. (the best he can do is to say he’s flexible.) honesly he hasn’t given it much thought. bi and demi?
EDIT: they are in no particular order! my love for them can’t be put into numbered lists!
Termes alternatius a LGBT+:
Presentem diversos termes per parlar de les persones que se surten de la cis-hetero-al·lo-peri-mono-normativitat. És a dir, de tot aquest immens grup de persones que no pertanyen a almenys un dels següents grups:
-Cis: Aquelles persones que s’identifiquen amb el gènere assignat en néixer, o que tenen una vivència normativa del gènere. És una paraula per parlar de les persones que no són trans.
-Hetero: Prefix per orientacions dirigides a gèneres diferents al propi. Per persones no-hetero, entenem que tenen una orientació diferent de l’heterosexualitat o de l’heteroromanticisme.
-Al·lo: Prefix per al·losexual i per al·loromàntic. Les persones que no són al·losexuals es troben dins l’espectre asexual; i les persones que no són al·loromàntiques formen part de l’espectre aromàntic.
-Peri: De perisexual, un dels termes per referir-se a una persona que no és intersexual.
-Mono: Referit a la monogàmia. Hi ha un ventall molt ampli de tipus de no-mongàmia (poligàmia), que inclou diverses menes de poliamor, parelles obertes, polisexe, anarquia relacional, etc.
Comencem!
-LGBTQIAP+:
La versió més extensa de les sigles (LGBT, LGBTI, LGBTIQ, LGBTIA, etc.).
Lesbiana, Gai, Bi (Bisexual, biromàntic, espectre bisexual), Trans (Trans, transgènere, transsexual), Queer / Qüestió, Intersexual, As/Aro (Espectre sexual i espectre aromàntic), Poliamor // Poligàmia // Pansexual / Panromàntic i (+) (que assegura que la comunitat sempre serà inclusiva amb totes les identitats, per tal que tothom se senti satisfet i que ningú no en quedi fora).
-Queer:
Queer és una paraula anglesa que vol dir ‘estrany’ o ‘anormal’. Històricament, s’ha fet servir per insultar aquelles persones amb un gènere, expressió de gènere i/o sexualitat que no s’ajustava a les expectatives dominants normatives. Algunes persones han recuperat aquest terme per anomenar-se a si mateixes, com una manera de celebrar i de reivindicar el fet de no encaixar a aquestes normes establertes. Les manifestacions d'opressió en moviments de gais i de lesbianes, com el racisme, la gordofòbia, el cissexisme, la transmissogínia, així com les polítiques d'assimilació van provocar la marginació de moltes persones, i per alguns el terme queer va esdevenir una postura radical i lluitadora que engloba múltiples aspectes de les identitats.
Cal afegir que no tothom accepta aquest terme per si mateixos, no s’hi identifica, no s’hi sent còmode, prefereix altres termes o fins i tot reconeix la paraula queer com un insult i no estar d’acord en el seu ús.
-MOGAI
Les sigles en anglès: Marginalized Orientations, Gender Aignments and Intersex (Orientacions marginades, assignacions de gènere i intersex) o  Minority Orientations, Gender Aignments, And Intersex (Orientacions minoritàries, assignacions de gènere i identitats de gènere minoritàries i intersex).
GA pot significar tant Gender Aignments (assignacions de gènere), Gender Assignations (ídem), com Gender Alignments (aliniacions de gènere).
Des de l'addició d'Intersex, algunes persones van malinterpretar la A per And (la conjunció i), cosa que feia perdre bona part de la informació,
Vol ser una paraula inclusiva pels termes cofre as/aro, homosexuals, multisexuals, persones trans i persones intersexuals.
Algunes persones també utilitzen IMOGA, amb el mateix significat, reordenat per tal de destacar Intersex.
-MOGII
Les sigles en anglès: Marginalized Orientations, Gender Identity, and Intersex (Orientacions marginades, identitats de gènere i intersex).
La M també pot voler representar Minority orientation (orientacions minoritàries)
Semblant a MOGAI proposat com una alternativa a la llarga llista de sigles LGBTQIAP+, que vol ser igualment inclusiva. Més curt i més fàcil de pronunciar. Inclou aquelles persones que no volen etiquetes concretes i no fan servir insults com a paraules reclamades (com ara queer).
((
Hi ha cap diferència entre MOGAI i MOGII?
Det fet, hi ha una petita diferència. MOGAI parla de gender alignments/aignments/assignations (aliniacions de gènere / assignacions de gènere). El terme MOGII ho va canviar per gender identity (identitat de gènere).
Hi ha molta gent que fa servir aquests termes de manera indistinta. Però si filem prim, MOGII podria incloure, per exemple, les dones cis. Per aquest motiu, molts prefereixen fer servir MOGAI. I això no vol dir que les dones cis no estiguin marginades. Aquí hi ha molta d'interseccionalitat. Però la lluita de les dones cis és diferent de la de la lluita de persones trans o no-binàries. És per això que molta gent no fa de MOGII una paraula pròpia.
))
-COGAP
Basat en les sigles de MOGAI, amb l’objectiu de ser una alternativa a dycishet (diàdic-cis-hetero) or pericishet (peri-cis-hetero) per parlar de persones que NO són MOGAI. Les sigles de COGAP representen Centered Orientations, Gender Alignments and Perisex (Orientacions centrades, aliniacions de gènere i perisex).
((
Els termes de la família de MOGAI han rebut crítiques i diverses persones s’han declarat descontentes amb aquest terme per diverses raons:
-No és inclusiu amb la no-monogàmia.
-Amaga moltes comunitats que necessiten visibilitzar-se molt més.
-Es diu que cobreix més del que hauria d’englobar, com ara les fílies, parafílies o també les pràctiques conegudes com a kinky.
-Descentralitza les identitats que tenen més història (si més no en el nom).
-Servint-se del fet que les sigles no se centren en cap identitat en particular, hi ha el perill que algú ataqui algunes identitats dient que són "massa específiques" o "ridícules", i al·legant que només certes identitat són realment MOGAI. Cosa que el converteix en un terme poc segur.
))
-GSM:
Les sigles en anglès: Gender and Sexual Minorities (Gènere i minories sexuals, encara que també s’ha traduït per Gèneres i sexualitats minoritaris).
((
La idea de ‘minoritari’ és un punt sensible, cosa que dificulta la construcció de noves paraules d’aquesta mena.
))
-També es pot fer servir únicament la paraula ‘Gai’ per parlar de tot el col·lectiu sencer. Però bona part de la comunitat no acostuma a fer-la servir de manera extensa, atès que invisibilitza moltes realitats sota un terme que n’ha estat sempre la cara visible.
---
Encara no s’ha trobat un terme prou inclusiu que acontenti tota la comunitat i que no resulti massa llarg o difícil de pronunciar.
Coneixeu algun altre terme alternatiu com aquests?
[Descripció de la imatge: Un conjunt desordenat de daus de fusta de punta arrodonida amb una lletra a cada cara.]
I am such a dumbass.
I finally realized what your name came from. Aro + Fíli. A Fíli that is aromantic. DUH. My brain previously smashed Quenya and Greek together and assumed something like ‘royal-lover’ from ar(o) + fili, similar to -phil. Pretty! Abstract! Also dead wrong!!!
Why does my brain come up with this shit unprompted.
ahahaha lol 😂😂 I've had lots of people not get what my url means at first glance but this is definitely the most convulted misunderstanding!!
Fíli hesitated. “Thanks, though. Woulda been a goner if not for you.”
“My employer would tell me that your continued patronage is thanks enough,” Ragna said. “Me, on the other hand—I’d just like a pal, maybe.”
Fíli sighed. If she was going to be that upfront...fine. He needed an ally, and he kind of wanted a friend, too, if he was being honest.
“Fí,” he said. “Call me Fí.”
Fili + N for the minific meme? :D
(Thanks Ani!! I was hoping you’d ask this one :) I liked writing this a lot)
Fili + N. The color green.
He tried to be subtle about it, at first. He’d always liked the color green—it was nice, and part of nature, and there were enough shades of it that it didn’t get boring. So when he found out green was The Aromantic Color, Fíli was pleased.
Before he came out to anyone (even to himself, really), he started to incorporate green into his everyday dress. A green shirt, or green socks, or just writing in a green marker when he got the chance. Lots of people had favorite colors; no one would think twice, and it made him feel better.
Even when he did come out, eventually, he didn’t think most people put two and two together. Green was just his favorite color; purple was nice too if he wanted to have two—together, the two meant he was aroace, and it could be just a little personal moment of pride.
But his brother noticed the little things. Fíli was so lucky to have Kíli—really, to have everyone in his family be so supportive and loving about being aro, but especially Kíli. It was his brother who accompanied him to his first pride, his brother who gave him the courage to come out to their parents, his brother who bought him his first aro pride merch.
And it was Kíli who decorated his whole room green on Valentine’s Day, too. The first year, Fíli was just having a crummy day—February was rough for aromantics, and it didn’t help that Kíli and Tauriel’s anniversary was the same month, too. But when he walked into his room to see green streamers, hearts, and early St. Patrick’s day clovers strung all over his room on the 14th, he remembered just how lucky he was to have Kíli. It became a tradition after that, and it never failed to make him feel better.
When it came down to it, green was just a color—but it was also a part of him. And in an amatonormative world like the one Fíli lived in, he’d take any pride he could get.
Plus, who didn’t like the color of trees, anyway?
Request a minific from me!
