I finally had time to make proper designs for the Trio!

Redson: Ver 1

Ver 2

I couldn't decide on if I liked it better with the braids or not so I just posted both, but anyways!

I gotta admit, I used to not like the idea of redson having Bull features (except for a small pair of horn maybe) but the concept really grew on me and now I really love it and wanted to try making my own design and I'm really proud with how it turned out.

I would've added more scars, since Guanyins throne pierced his entire body, but there came a point where it just looked like there was too much going on so I had to get rid of a few scars to tone it down, so we're just gonna say they faded over time, okay? Okay.

I also made him Miao (one of the largest ethnic minorities in southwest China) on PIF's side, and Mongolian on DBK's.

The Miao ethnicity of China has a long history, rich culture, and an ancient folk religion. Adorned in beautiful traditional clothes, possessing natural talent for singing and dancing, they live in uniquely designed indigenous architecture, which I think fits perfectly with how I imagined Princess Iron Fan and with her; Redson.

As for DBK being Mongolian, I saw someone else talking about this headcanon and I just liked it so I decided to use it, I don't really have a specific reason for it, I just thought it fit, not sure why though, it's just one of those things that makes sense even if you don't know why, you know?

Mei:

I made her taller and gave her a long dragon tail (like really long, it drags along the floor if she's not holding it up), though her scales are pretty much everywhere across her body they're most noticeable on her shoulders, thighs, and face (they're a bit hard to see in this photo because they're kinda hidden behind her hair, but I did give her scales beside her eyes)

I also gave her horns these little spiral designs around them, gave her sharper nails, and designed her ears to look like coral, since she's a water dragon and I thought they looked cool.

Honestly idk what else to say about her design, I didn't have anything specific in mind when designing her, I kinda just had to wing it, but I'm happy with how it turned out :)

(I also made her Bengali, on her dad's side, but it's not really important or has any reason behind it, just a headcanon I've had for a while, don't know where it came from though)

MK:

Alot of people have speculated that the monkey form we see during the fight against Azure in season 4 isn't MK's full form yet, that we're just seeing a fraction of what he's yet to become, based on the fact that while he has the weird side burns, the tail and the face marking, he also lacks a natural skin tone, they didn't give him a proper nose etc, so I wanted to play with the idea.

I decided to make him this strange mix between human and monkey, leaving him pretty much human with the addition of his tail(s), and weird li'l monkey feet.

(I was also gonna give MK more arm/leg hair, it was in my first sketch, but I forgot to add them when I was doing the line art and didn't realize until after I saved it as a jpeg, so that's my bad, but I'm gonna add it in to any other art I make)

It's also a bit hard to see in this, but I designed his staff with more details, specifically adding dragon-esque imagery to the Golden ends, this is because (for anyone who's new to the fandom/hasn't read JTTW) Wukong's staff was originally one of the several pillars that held up the sea in the dragon palace, until he stole it and shrunk it down to use as his weapon.

I also did MK's clones :)

Porty MK:

I gave him stripes of coloured hair and gave his tails all different colours, though I don't think he would actually dye it, instead I like to think that he would use that really crappy dollar store spray in hair dye (or hair chalk). I kept the fishnet clothes that I added in my originally design of him for my headcanons post, and decided to give him striped elbow length fingerless gloves.

I also gave him a cropped shirt, ripped shorts and these weird fingerless glove-esque shoes for convenience, since regular shows seem like they would be uncomfortable.

Edit: my dumbass forgot Porty's stupid print jacket 😭

Artist MK:

For Artist MK I gave him overalls and a jacket over it, which he wears specifically for when he's doing paintings so he doesn't ruin too many of his actual clothes (I know I said that this was inspod by Circusapple, which it still is, but this is almost exactly what I wear when I'm painting too, just in different colours).

I also gave him those gloves that digital artists wear so they're hands don't accidently trigger something on the screen because everyone knows that every artist just walks around with their art glove on even when it's not necessary.

Delivery MK:

I have to admit, I was never a big fan of MK's work uniform just being his regular clothes with a work jacket thrown over it so I wanted to try and make him look a little more professional and decided to instead give him a chef coat (similar to the one Pigsy wears on the show as well), with a logo for the restaurant on the chest, along with it I gave him plain black pants, since casual red jeans didn't seem very professional (I know he's just a delivery person, but if you were to look at pretty much any food corporation, even people who do deliveries have to wear uniform, so it's always been kinda strange to me that he's just in regular clothes).

The shoes were harder to make professional given the whole "half-monkey" thing so I opted to give him the same strange fingerless glove-esque shoes for comfort and convenience, but made them plain black as well.

this is just a theory of mine because these bubbles of the matrix should represent your higher self. i feel like it could work for the outside numbers too that changes yearly... anywho - this is not to say that you can't accomplish goals/resolution not listed in your category / under your energetic number nor that your efforts not listed in your selection don't make you a better person. this is simply what i believe people with these numbers would benefit from doing and how they can gain new found confidence in themselves.

1 - the magician

Jamaluddin

The Chimera Witch, with an idealistic nature. Seeking to pour beauty into this empty, unjust world, he allows the paint to seep from his nails and hollowed-out head- and on to the canvas. With every stroke of a brush and measurement taken, the witch would feel his vitality slipping away, but it's nothing compared to the glory of what stands high and tall in his mind - the picture of an elegant paradise for all to behold and enjoy -, but it is all so brittle; the structures will crumble without fail, and so shall his patience.

Tearing apart these imperfect scribbles and lines with these mismatched claws in the hopes of forgetting his burdens, nothing but basic blueprints will remain, and the cycle begins once again. One hoping to defeat him must possess a charitable soul, but to be wary as to not fall into the pit of self-deterioration whilst following the paths set by their heart.

Barrier appearance:

Befitting an architect like him, it would be as if you have stepped into a blueprint for a magnificent palace in the works. Seamless lines fill the white voids that surround the place, with the more "complete" areas being decked out with furnishings that would be fitting for a tavern or a small home.

Unfortunately, it appears that the witch is not yet completely done with the renovations; trying so hard to gather up whatever he could find just to bring out what he sees in his mind to reality. As such, the vast majority of the place still looks like they're made up of hastily-made sketches, and some of the less-maintained areas appear to be doodled in...crayon?

The bright emptiness is overwhelming- almost as much as the scent of aging wine...

Cause behind his appearance:

The belief that he had caused his father to spiral and eventually lose his life by encouraging his to take on the tournament in the first place. This event also marked his mother's mental health to deteriorate and both of their lives becoming harder as result. While he is not as unlucky as, let's say, Bennett, omens of bad luck are something to consider.

Another reason as to why he is a chimera is because its asymmetrical appearance, and something so heinous like that would not pass as an architectural design; more salt on Kaveh's wounds.

Familiars:

Golshan. Minions of the Chimera Witch. Their task is to commission. Ever the chatty beings, these hummingbirds would often nestle behind the ears of the witch and blabber their desires and criticisms. Every little detail, every little idea born from the pouring ink, every line drawn and measurement taken; surely, he could do better. Plan this once more; return to them once he has made something the two can agree on.

Hasan. Minion of the Chimera witch. His duty is to critique. An eagle with feathers of jade and a heart of ice. As the witch strains himself before inevitably shutting down once more, all he does is watch over his master with nothing but exasperation in his eyes. Just as the witch doesn't want his work to be tampered with, the avian doesn't like his time wasted; as such, any and all intruders are to be disposed of. At least the two managed to agree on a single sentiment for once...

Genshin boys as uni students + content creators 🎧🎬🗯 (Sumeru edition) headcanons!

— this took a while to post because I saved the draft the moment my wifi cut off and I had to rewrite the whole thing.

— these are my personal headcanons, you may feel free to disagree with me ! little wonky when it comes to talking about what they do in uni because a high school student wrote this 🔥

Al Haitham ★ Law Major + Day in My Life

As much as I want to assign him to being a literature major, I believe he would choose law over it because he believes in practicality and plans WAY ahead into the future. It's not that he was forced into it, he chose it himself to survive in society and he's somewhat fine with that.

He's passionate about his course to a certain/decent degree but I image it's not even measurable to his interest in books & analyzing literature.

Naturally excels in his class and is commended for majority of his thesis papers and projects.

Adding to the last bullet: Whenever the professor assigns those scenario based requirements, the teacher will always get shocked from reading his works because he finds the most unexpected ways (and uses the most unexpected constitutional statements) to answer the question and somehow they always turn up reasonable.

In terms of content creating, he doesn't upload on a schedule but gets irked when the date between today and his last upload is a little too far so he uploads one when he feels today is gonna be a productive one.

Doesn't talk a lot in videos and just shows himself going about his business (mostly studying in the silence of the library or in the bustling environment of the nearest cafe, he still manages to concentrate either way)

When he reads new books with really good plots, he somehow incorporates them into short videos along with his usual routine and talks about what he thinks of it so far (which prompted a few not so pleasant comments on some of his videos because of his unbiased opinion)

Absolutely despises bullshit and problematic authors and problematic plot points and he makes no effort to hide that.

He likes silence. he finds the silence of his room with only the sound of his mouse and keyboard clicking and clacking as he edits his videos. he finds both the lack of sound and the activity very theraputic.

Posts study with me videos — believes in the power of the body doubling study method and it's a win-win for both him and his followers.

Examples of his videos would be something like what saranghoe or kai notebook would post on their channels (check them out! they're so cool omg)

Kaveh ★ Architecture Major + GRWMs & DIML

Be honest were you really expecting another major for him...

Okay, maybe he would fit as a fashion/art student.

If it's not obvious enough, his blueprints and structure plans are immaculate. Whatever the prompt is, he would ALWAYS find a way to make it fit into both the theme + his distinct architectural style or draw it even better. This man is so full of ideas and genuinely loves his major.

Affinity to classical and dainty architecture styles.

Enjoys doing interior designing as well — he tries to include them in his initial exterior designs if he has the time but majority of the time, he doesn't.

He's a self-care babe. Already has an estsblished skincare, haircare, nailcare, and even makeup routine by the time he starts content creating.

Trust me, if his course didn't entail straining his hands a lot from sketching and nails getting accidentally cracked (to his dismay), he would've painted them a LONG time ago. Instead, he paints his friends' nails for fun.

Is the type to upload anytime without a schedule like he genuinely enjoys making videos and such. Even if those updates last for about 30 seconds or a minute, he uploads them.

His videos are motivation to get your life togjether just because his looks like it.

It's not. He lives off of lattes and convenience store snacks on his off time. (He also films himself even when he doesn't look as put together as he does in his usual videos).

Examples of his videos would be the content Song Jia (free지아) would post. Drops effective tips, recommendations, and even advice from time to time.

Cyno ★ Criminal Justice Major & Tighnari ★ Med Student + Vlogging & Mukbang

Cyno

I decided to write these two as a duo because I headcanon them as roommates as well in a modern au.

Cyno despite his kind of intimidating course takes it very well and has always been a fan of solving stuff related to criminology. In serious moments, he's able to give his two cents on social topics.

The fastest in his class to answer and solve scenario-based questions.

He's a fucking pain in the ass (said in a loving tone) to watch action/thriller movies with because on top of the puns and jokes he makes, he ends up spoiling the plot because he's already deduced what's going to happen.

Tighnari

Tighnari is a tired medical student, taking up a pre-med course in either biology or medical devices.

He's the type to have the messy-neat room, papers neatly but at the same messily sprawled on areas in his room but it adds to his personality so it's alright.

The one med student who makes his notes as neat as possible because he believes that it's better to understand during his first year and the one who relies on a distant memory to decode what he wrote in his notebook that looked like it went through 7 failed situationships, 3 divorces, and lost the custody of 3 children in the later phases of his academic career.

Despite that, he remembers the names and uses of medical treatments and supplements at the top of his head.

Tighnari likes to be precise in practice operations during the later years in med school after pre-med.

Cyno introduced the idea of content creating to his roommate.

Tighnari agreed because he's drowning in student debt.

They would mostly do vlogs when they go out with friends or play board games (Tighnari cheats his way to the top whilst Cyno is left to wonder how he, the master at card games and alike, is losing to someone who just learned the mechanics 5 minutes ago).

Their viewers enjoy that bit very much.

When the weekend pulls closer, they like to plan the food they want to eat at home for a video or the restaurant/food fair hopping they'll be doing on a random Friday. It's a routine they do to unwind from the stress of academics.

They also gossip together while filming and eating.

The type of content they would post would be like the videos Stephanie Soo posts.

He's so K-pop idol coded, did we as a society forget one of his hobbies was dancing in canon

He has a background in contemporary dancing/ballet and hip-hop dancing.

His voice is angelic and his professor really likes his vocal color (probably would have TXT's Soobin / SVT's Minghao's tone).

Scara ensures that dance moves are always clean when he performs and makes sure that there isn't any idle part of his body when he dances. His right hand is up? His left arm has to be placed somewhere at the same time. He hates it when he looks awkward on stage.

A really wide vocal range and can comfortably shift vocal tiers. He only strains his voice when the following note is unbelievably high for his pitch.

Shines the most in slow and r&b type performances, and is extremely flexible physically and in terms of genres.

When he posts content, Scaramouche takes interest in horror games as well as fixed-world (I'm not sure about the word) RPG games (ones like Persona 5, Honkai Stsr Rail). He screams (much more than he likes to admit).

He posts dance covers and song covers as well and gets a lot of praise for it online, urging him to become an idol (little do they know that he's studying to do just that).

Books really nice dance studios for covers and goes all-out for outfits.

Examples of his videos would be what Tuonto/Jake and Antony Chen would post.

Hey! I was wondering if you have any tips/ would be willing to share your process for drawing character faces and expressions? It's something I'm trying to improve in my own art, and I adore how specific and clearly readable yours are across all your different pieces.

Absolutely! To start, I wouldn't say I have a "process", it kind of varies depending on the style of the piece I'm doing. That being said, since most of my art here is mostly all comic book/animesque style, I'll give some info on how I tackle expressions and how to build a good foundation for any expressions you want to draw.

The Basics: The Skull

Everything starts with the skull 💀 I've spent a lot of time learning the underlying structure of the human head, namely the skull and facial muscles. The skull is divided into many zones and regions (of which I do not remember all the scientific names), so to simplify things, I divide the skull into the four main parts below:

(I simplify the maxilla and teeth into a circle, since it's approximately curved when closed.)

I usually spend at least 5 min a day just doodling skulls so that way I don't lose the visual inventory I have in my mind. It makes it easier when I want to sketch characters and expressions on the fly.

That's the structure, but now you need to learn how the motion of the skull actually works. Do studies of how the jaw moves compared to the cranium and maxilla. This is important because if you want to draw your characters screaming/crying/arguing etc., you need to understand how the face stretches to accommodate the open jaw.

It's also important to learn how to draw the skull in 3D space. Yep, I'm talking about head angles. For my Tucker Neon post, since we’re staring down at him from a high angle I drew a rough skull to figure out how his facial features would work in this perspective:

Having a good understanding of the skull will provide you with a solid blueprint for drawing any expressions you want, which brings us to...

Facial Muscles

If the skull is the foundation, I would say that the facial muscles are loosely the “architecture” of a person’s face. It’s always moving, always changing, and learning how they behave across the human face is a must for nailing expressions. To get a better idea of how the muscles contract/stretch across your face, I would recommend two things: scrunch your face, and use a mirror!

Here you can feel all the areas that crease, which areas are tighter, and which areas “lift” more when you work those muscles! 💪 These creases can add more emotion and intensity to whatever expression you’re drawing; how much creasing depends on the intensity, which is up to you.

This is something that manga & anime make excellent use of; they’re not shy when it comes to conveying what their characters are feeling:

Which brings us to our last topic...

Stylization

Are these guidelines I said so far hard rules? No, they are not. Part of drawing expressions is stylizing and exaggerating realistic human proportions and behaviors. This is why I love collecting anime expression studies. Look at these awesome faces and acting:

Do real-life mouths stretch like that? Or do eyebrows move on top of the eyes when you glare? No, but it’s all in the service of exaggerating the expressions and emotions that the characters are feeling and really communicating that intent with your audience. You learn the structure of the skull and facial muscles to get a good understanding of how they work, and then you use what you know to stretch and exaggerate the physical limitations of the human face.

Essentially: Learn the rules so that you can break them.

And now that I have subjected you to my long-winded TED talk, let me get to answering your actual question and showing you my process! 😂

When I’m drawing expressions, I act them out in front of a mirror; this is the best way to learn expressions, by drawing them from real life. As you can see, sometimes I do a quick sketch of a skull to get an angle accurate, but if a character is stylized or facing the viewer at eye level, I just skip ahead to the final sketch.

au roulette #2: coffee shop

it's- well. there's a coffee shop. and it's an au. sure!

The stones of Minas Ithil are still new, fresh-cut from the quarries of the White Mountains and star-bright beneath the unhidden sun. The city is still young and incomplete, but shops still spring up on the lower levels, in the shadow of new walls, coffeehouses and bakeries and weavers’ shops. It’s here that Abrazâni meets Valardis.

The coffee shop has no name yet, unless it’s that of the proprietor, a young Númenórean with long hair braided back and some of the most ingenious combinations of flavors Abrazâni thinks have ever been put to coffee. The fact that she actually likes some of them is an even greater testament to Sildor’s skills.

“The city is coming along quite well,” Abrazâni says, watching her son vanish around the corner after Valardis’s. “It’s beautiful already.”

“It is,” Valardis says, nearly glowing with pride. “And far more swiftly than we expected.” She draws a heavy notebook from the satchel at her side and spreads it between them. “We have some early designs for the citadel,” she says, flipping through smudged and sketchy pages until she finds the one she seeks, rough drawings of a tall, proud tower decorated with images of the crescent moon. “I thought we might have a beacon at the top,” Valardis says, “like the ones in the great lighthouses. Estenan thought the light would surely disturb the city at night, but I think it would remind many of us of home.” And if she hesitates a little on the word, Abrazâni does not mention it, and does not try to decide the places she should now call home.

“It’s wonderful,” she says instead, reaching out but not daring to touch the page. She lets a teasing note into her voice. “You really are trying to live up to the moon theme, aren’t you?” And Valardis laughs, the bright sound echoing off the stone, and turns to another page.

“We called this place Ithilien,” she says. “We may as well commit to it.” She pulls a pencil from her hair, making a face as the bun wound round it unravels. “There is something else. Less grand than a palace, perhaps, but I think you may like this one better.” She spins her sketchbook round and pushes it towards Abrazâni, smiling expectantly.

These sketches are more careful, depicting long, high-roofed halls and great windows up above, and in some of the drawings they are filled with shelves, and the shelves with books. Abrazâni looks up. “A library?” Valardis’s smile widens.

“We will collect as much as we can of what remains of our lore, but it will want for a keeper sooner rather than later.”

Abrazâni studies her friend. “You don’t mean to fill the role yourself?”

“Ah, I’ve always been a better dreamer than a planner, you know that.”

“You sell yourself short,” Abrazâni murmurs, but she runs her fingertips gently over the arched windows in the pictures.

“I know my strengths,” Valardis says primly. “And besides, I will not lack for other duties. It would please us to have one who knows her business to keep the archives.” And Abrazâni smiles then, and accepts the offer gladly, and Valardis embraces her.

“Don’t tell me you designed this just for me,” Abrazâni says, turning through half a dozen pages of sketches and things that are very nearly architectural plans. It bears a great resemblance to the grand library of Andúnië where she had met often with Valardis and with Isildur and Anárion in more peaceful days.

“Then I will not tell you,” Valardis says easily. “Is there anything you would see changed?”

“Not at all,” Abrazâni says quickly. “Well. Not at the moment, anyway.” Valardis laughs.

“Make a list and we will see it done,” she says. Abrazâni quirks a smile.

“This was not your plan alone, was it?”

“As I said,” Valardis says serenely, “I am not the great planner in my household.”

“And Isildur is?” Abrazâni says, mostly under her breath. Mostly.

“Hey!” a new voice protests.

Isildur joins them in the coffee shop, dirt still dark under his nails as he kisses his wife and lifts Abrazâni in a spinning hug as he and his brother so often had when they were children, never mind her protests. The Tree is growing well, he reports, and asks after Abrazâni and Tárandil when the matter of the library is settled. Abrazâni quiets, and does not miss the look her old friends share, but in truth she and her son are doing well, all things considered, and he often misses Isildur and Valardis’s sons when he and Abrazâni are out of the city.

“Then stay, if you find Minas Ithil to your liking,” Isildur says, and she appreciates it, she does, and having such a great library as her charge calls to her as little else, but some days she is still the wife of the Captain-general of the fleets of Númenor, and many have not forgotten that. Neither has she.

But if ever there was a time for new beginnings, this must be it, with the end of something great and from its shards building that which must come next.

“Perhaps I will,” she says.

When Astrology Meets Aesthetics

I can't seem to get away from the exploration of aesthetics or just general navel-gazing about how I present myself to the world in my day-to-day life. So I've decided to lean in and continue the exploration until I bore myself to death and move on.

In this post, I engage in pairing astrology with aesthetics and where I think my lifestyle reflects my astrological vibration. (So if you're into aesthetics, but not astrology or astrology, but not aesthetics, this post may not interest you.)

A quick note: Some of the traits, colors, or activities I do on a regular basis aren't mentioned below because it's something I think all of the aesthetics I embody are known for, so it doesn't really belong to just one of them. (For example, eating in or hanging out in cafes while reading, writing or people watching. I feel that activity really belongs to all of the aesthetics below.)

- Art Academia (An aesthetic centered around the creation and enjoyment of art. Dissonantia's Goetia demon form

In order to gain the attention of Stolas and Stella, Dissonantia disguised herself as a Peacock Ars Goetia demon.

The disguise itself has colorful male plumage, despite Dissonantia being a female. Her primary color is royal blue, with the feathers on her head, neck, torso, shoulders, upper arms, thighs, and knees a shimmering sapphire tone, while her forearms and bird legs are black, along with her nails and talons. She has three pairs of elegant and large peacock wings, each one having thousands of eyes. Her tail is long with small black feathers covering it, slowly changing into the familiar color scheme of a male peacock's tail, growing into large plumage for her to show off when the feathers spread apart; the "eyes" of the tail are actual eyes that can hypnotize her victims. The long teal, green, blue, yellow, and purple crest feathers on her head move similar to a cockatiel's crest feathers: completely to the front—her "Mohawk"—means she's focused on something (usually when focusing on Stolas, Octavia, Stella, or any of her children), and flatten crest plumage, giving her a layered side-swept hairstyle, means she's relaxed or uninterested. Her chest feathers are puffed up to create the illusion of large breasts, same as Angel Dust's but bigger, fluffier, and softer. Her makeup consist of baby blue eyeshadow, lavender mascara, light rosey blush, and glossy red liquid lipstick on the tip of her beak. Her dress is inspired by Peacock's gown from "Miraculous Ladybug", although longer and with feathers, exotic designs, jewelry, golden chains around the waist, a long-sleeve teal cardigan golden feathers at the ends of the sleeves, and an expensive, long dark blue veil cape with brown leather collar that wraps around her neck with golden buttons. Both the inside of the dress and the cape have a green and purple space design. She even has her own peacock tail fan, and her glass pens are designed to mimic a peacock feather! Whenever she becomes angrier, she starts turning into her original form, losing feathers, black liquid coming down from her mouth and eyes, and growing bigger in size (she is two inches taller than Stolas). Dissonantia's "occupation" in Hell is a fashion designer and model for her own brand style of exotic bird-like clothes and accessories. Her interests, as mentioned in her dating app profile, are culinary arts, fine arts, fashion, cosmetology, opera, sweet and somber vocalizing, and architecture. Her hobbies are cooking and baking, oil painting, sketching, designing and making clothes, gardening, spending time with her loved ones, reading, creating makeup brands, listening and dancing to classical music, listening to hip-hop and electro swing music, singing, journaling, and shopping.
