We have carried a small reminder of violence to the house of one who does his business with the violence of the State. We sent the parcel bomb that arrived on June 27 in Rome to Alessandro Profumo, CEO of Leonardo S.p.A, the State company that produces weapons and state of the art technological devices. Collectionist and boardroom climber, great pimp of the universities, Profumo is one of those we are not likely to see bleeding from the wars he enriches himself with. Leonardo has done business with both Russia and Ukraine, his shares are soaring on the stock exchange and the Italian government is promising a shower of billions thanks to the rearmament race imposed by NATO. To their capital corresponds always and only our suffering and sacrifices.

Police break up anti-imperialist protest, Washington DC: 1932 A protest took place near the Japanese Embassy at 2514 Massachusetts Ave. NW in Washington, D.C..
Police attacked the 30 demonstrators with clubs, fists and blackjacks while staff at the Japanese chancery watched from the roof and windows.
The protestors resisted and knocked down several of the police, including one who was hospitalized as a result of the confrontation. One of the demonstrators, Joan Hardy, was knocked unconscious during the fight.
When International Labor Defense attorney Bernard Ades went to seek their release at the Third Precinct station, Superintendent of the Police Pelham Glassford expelled him from the station.
Glassford had ordered the arrest of the demonstrators for parading without a permit, even though they were on the sidewalk and not blocking traffic. Some of the demonstrators were also charged with assault.
The Japanese army invaded Manchuria on the mainland in November 1931. Chinese forces resisted until February of 1932 when they were defeated. Guerilla warfare continued until the end of World War II in 1945. Reports and photos of Japanese bombing of civilians and shooting of unarmed survivors caused revulsion around the world at the expansion of the Japanese empire.
The Japanese invasion of Manchuria is regarded as the opening salvo in what became World War II.

truly nothing is more American than being like "yay I love the Marvel films yay I love the Captain America films" until the Captain America film has an Israeli superhero character who works with the Israeli military. and then we have to boycott it. but before this it was fine to support films about Captain America, an American superhero character who works with the American military!
our wholesome and universal commercialized nationalism vs their sinister child murdering nationalism!!! lmfao
ive made this unrebloggable but just in case someone gets up in my face I will make this crystal clear: I am not telling you to hate Israel less I am TELLING YOU TO HATE AMERICA MORE

please don't forget that israel's genocide in palestine is also driven by the desire to exploit palestine's natural resources. beneath the land and off the coast of occupied palestine lie billions of barrels of oil and a significant potential for natural gas. palestinians aren't allowed to drill for oil or frack for gas; their occupiers are. on october 29th, just weeks after initiating the genocide in gaza, the israeli government approved 12 more permits to continue searching for off-shore oil and gas reserves. israel seeks to exterminate the palestinian people so that they can extract and trade the land's natural resources uninhibited. the imperialist military industrial complex always has and always will rely on the genocide of MENA peoples to enable the west's massive overconsumption of oil. resisting the empire is a climate justice issue.

rape is just a thing that may happen during war. we're not saying it didn't happen. it may have occurred. rape is not uncommon in war. it's not a weapon of war, there's no proof it's a pattern of violence against women, it's just something that happens for some reason.

Not enough people on here talking about The Boy and the Heron doing for Imperial Japan what Pan’s Labrynth did for Spanish Fascism huh.
So they are both movies about a kid going into a fantasy world while fascism and violence is devastating our world around them. Del Toro makes the connection explicit by making the fascism of the real world extremely explicit and directly hostile to our protagonist. In The Boy and the Heron the war, militarism and it’s horrors are very much present - labor volunteers among elementary schoolers, patriotic parades of aging soldiers, the mention of the fall of Saipan (which brought down the government and made clear to those in power that Japan was doomed) those Zero cockpits and of course the ever present and unspoken horror of the firebombing of Tokyo, which runs through the film from the second you hear that air raid siren and see those embers falling through all the fire in the film.
But within the fantasy world we also have a cockatiel (?) “Duch” whose rallies looks like Mussolini and who acts like a Japanese militarist. Which is sinister and absurd and very funny. To say nothing of our protagonists war profiteer father charging in with a samurai sword and discovering that his antagonists are parakeets (and getting covered in bird shit). Indeed the Parakeets transforming into harmless birbs almost seems to be about the absurdity of fascism and militarism. In Pan’s Labrynth the fascists and militarists were the real monsters. In the Boy and the Heron they are ridiculous.

And then can we talk about how the tower that was built at the time of Meiji falls in 1944!?

Image above: Arrival of military equipment from Russia at the Brest-Yuzhny railway depot in January.
On March 25 [2022], the telegram channel of the Community of Belarusian Railway Workers wrote that two relay cabinets of the Signal, Centralization and Blocking system (SCB) between the train stations Barysau and Novosady had gone up in flames the night before. On March 28, the Railway Workers’ Channel reported another incident with SCBs – they were out of service after an arson attack between the train stations of Sovietski and Vereitski in Osipovichi district. April 2: A staff member of “SB. Belarus Today” correspondent Yury Terekh reports that “a few groups who decided to embellish their free time in the evening with a simple terrorist act [on the train tracks] have already encountered security forces.” On April 6, Deputy Interior Minister Gennadiy Kazakevich provided details of the incident. According to him, on the night of March 30, police, together with Russia’s FSB intelligence service and “with the support of SOBR,” detained three 27- and 28-year-old residents* of Bobruysk who, allegedly, were “involved in the destruction of relay cabinets of the security system” near Osipovichy on March 28: “During the arrest, the terrorists* actively resisted and tried to escape. A ‘deadly weapon’ was used,” Kazakevich said.

"MILITARY IMPERIALISM DANGER TO LABOR WORLD, SAYS KEIR HARDIE," Toronto Star. September 9, 1912. Page 1 & 13. --- Veteran Leader Declares Contribution From Dominions Not Needed. --- PLAY INTO HANDS OF THE NOW RICH ---- Says Workers in Both Germany and England are Voting on War Question. --- A MUTUAL MOVEMENT ---- British M.P. a Delegate to the Trades and Labor Congress at Guelph. ---- Special to The Star By a Staff Reporter. Guelph. Ont., Sept. 3. - James Keir Hardie, M.P., of the British House of Commons, and fraternal delegate from the British Labor party to the 25th convention of the Trades and Labor Congress of Canada, arrived in Guelph Monday morning at 1 a.m., from Rochester, N.Y.
A large gathering of delegates met him at the station. The sturdy frame of the former miner shows no fatigue. The only change noticeable since his last visit is his now white hair and beard. No, it was not too late for him to talk of the social problems that have engaged his whole life's work.
Situation in Britain. Interviewed by The Star, and asked about the industrial situation in Great Britain, he said:
"It is more hopeful than ever, the trade unions have strengthened their position, both numerically and in solidarity. Rec Recent strikes have shown more solidarity than ever before A like remark applies to Socialism, people who have been away for a few years and return to the Home-land are astonished at the change, and the politicians are at their wits end trying to check its growth.
The old insular spirit which has been a characteristic of the British race, mainly due to the fast that they live in an island, is breaking down through the growth of the International socialist and trade union movement,
Imperialism Versus Socialism. "The ruling class are attempting to substitute for it a spirit of Imperialism, and talk as though they would like to turn the British Empire into a huge compound from which all the rest of the world is to be excluded.
"They use big sounding phrases as one Empire, one flag, one navy, one throne, whilst meaning only enlarged area within which they they may exploit the working class. The labor movement is now too much wide awake to be taken in by such hypocritical cant.
"I am here as a fraternal delegate from the British Labor party which has 1.400.000 affiliated trade unionists and socialists
"I do not come here, however, because Canada is within the British Empire, but because the Trades and Labor Congress represents the working class movement of the Dominion of Canada. I have carried the fraternal greeting of our party to similar congresses in Germany and France, and elsewhere. The international working class movement is not limited by the boundaries of nations or empires. It encircles the whole earth and is binding the disinherited propertyless working class of f the world into one mighty army, not to make war upon other, but upon the entire capitalist system which oppresses and enslaves the workers of all lands alike.
Danger To Canadians. "I hope by my visit to the Trades and Labor Congress to do some thing to arouse the workers of Canada to a sense of the danger and menace to their well-being which military imperialism would bring in its train.
"An Imperial navy and army to which all the Dominions will continue to contribute their quota would play into the hands of the filibusters and money-grabbing contractors who never expose their own skins on a field of battle, but who'll slaughter millions of working men, whilst they stay at home and grow rich out of their fat contracts.
"The recent Boer war disclosed such an amount of swindling ling on the part of contractors who supplied the army with food, clothing, shoes, and war material as made honest men of all parties, blush for shame.
Fighting War Scare. "The greatest interest of the worker is peace. If the Canadian workmen lends himself to the beginnings of a navy or compulsory military training he will only be creating a fresh power to his enemies to keep himself in subjection..
"Are workers in Great Britain taking a definite course with regard to the present scare?"
"Yes, a ballot is being taken of the workers as to whether they are prepared to come to an agreement for stopping of work simultaneously in both countries to prevent the nations being launched into a war. Of course, the movement must be mutual."
"Are the Germans doing the same?"
"Yes, and the French workers are to take the matter up in April of next year.
"The different countries are to report next September at the International Socialist and Trade Union Congress at Vienna."
Prospect of Hostilities. "Do you think a war likely between Germany and Great Britain?"
"With all this building of navies and speculation of interested parties there is always a certain risk; responsible statesmen in both countries dread such a contingency as war, but their hands may be forced by the conspirators just as it was by the millionaires of South Africa in the case of the Boer war."
"How strong are the German workers?"
"Over four millions and a quarter voters are behind the working class party in the Reichstag in Germany, while in Great Britain, with candidates in every constituency, the labor party will poll 30 to 35 per cent. of the total vote, which will represent some three million workers."
Insurance Scheme. The Insurance scheme of Lloyd George was referred to by Mr. Hardie as a helpful scheme. The source of the revenue for it he thought should come from income tax, and a tax on unearned increment of land rather than a tax upon industry as at present
Mr. Hardie is on a lecture tour of the United States under the auspices of the Socialist party of the United States, in connection with the present political campaign.
He leaves Guelph on Wednesday, or not later than Thursday morning.
