#Anti Lokius

The ending scene was them pining for each other.
Mobius' echo of "let time pass" reaching Loki and making him tear up confirming he was watching over Mobius.
Mobius leaving the TVA because Loki isn't there anymore.
Mobius being completely miserable whereas Sylvie is seen happy and care free and time hopping with only a "it's weird that Loki's not here, isn't it?"
Loki going to seek Mobius first for comfort when faced with the moral dilemma of choosing who lives and dies.
Loki staring at his hand wistfully, with tears in his eyes while he watches Mobius slip away.
Mobius being the first to notice something was wrong when Loki started walking towards the loom.
The fact that Mobius was present when Loki said "I know what kind of god i need to be... for you" means the director(s) and writer(s) are seeing him as a possible romance arc in the future for Loki that's why they put him there with Sylvie to claim plausible deniability.
The season one kiss being retconed.
Loki not killing Sylvie (which he contemplated at first) means he wants to give her the chance to go write her own story like she's always wanted without running. And we can see her being happy (without Loki) at the end because she's finally free.
At the end, Sylvie is comforting Mobius because he's hurting more and evidently more miserable.

I just want to reflect how much the Loki show ruined Loki as a character for me and how much disheartened I was with it.
I had always wanted a spinoff on him, which explored him more. And the Loki show did anything but that.
Do you guys remember how Loki was in Infinity War for like 5 minutes, yet Tom Hiddleston was at almost every media interaction the cast had? The same thing happened in the show as well. They used him to market the show, then sidelined him in his own show. I think that was unacceptable, because they used Loki as a bait to promote a character that I held no emotions for.
Sylvie.
The argument that one does not like Sylvie because they “hate a strong female character/a character with complex arcs” is so pathetic. I don’t think I would’ve liked Sylvie even if she had the most elaborate arc in the MCU (which she doesn’t) because it just wasn’t meant to be about her.
I wanted to see Loki’s story, his journey, and if you take this moment to interject with the statement that “she’s Loki too, just different”, then I say that I wanted to see our Loki, the one who was broken when he found out that he was the monster parents told their children about at night, the one who had plethora of iconic dialogues while fighting the avengers, who was killed only for us to realize that he wasn’t.
Everytime I said that we needed a Loki spinoff before it was announced was not because I wanted new characters, it was because I wanted to see more of the character that was already there, very much beloved by the fans. I wanted them to explore his character in a deeper sense and maybe dip a little into mythology as well.
I think Loki was one of those characters that neither needed a love interest nor was ready for one. I don’t ship him with either Sylvie or Mobius, because it feels like neither of them genuinely like Loki for who he is.
Loki had far more compelling things they could have explored like his jotun heritage, his trauma from the time with Thanos and his magic that is the only memory he has of Frigga instead of his love life.
The whole show felt like it was written by someone who wasn’t the least bit interested in Loki and barely looked into him before creating his female counterpart.
It feels like a disrespect for the fans who were connected to Loki on an emotional level.
Why am I saying this now, after like 2 years since the show came out?
I don’t know, after hearing the news about season 2 releasing in October, I just feel so upset. Tired. I hate this show much because it made Loki so irrelevant to me. A sidepiece in his own show. He went around in ugly costumes and all the regal vibes I had from him just disappeared.
I still remember a time when Loki was on the top of my favorite characters, and I loved him so much. I still do, but I’m not sure if I’ll watch the 2nd season and my 13 y/o self would hate me for this.
I’ve gotten detached from his character and I hate myself for it because Loki was someone whom I adored more than anything else in the fandom world.
Loki is that one character who is loved by the fanon but absolutely despised by the canon.

i can't be the only one who's noticed just how fucked up the concept of loki joining the tva is, right? i personally haven't seen anyone talk about this but it's one of the main things that makes me so uncomfortable about the show.
like, let me describe this without using any of the language that the series does;
a secret police dedicated to killing entire groups of people "for the greater good," one day picks up a man from one of these groups and tells him that if he doesn't help them catch the person who is trying to take them down, they will straight up kill him.
he is then given a coat to wear, branded with the secret police's logo, as well as clarification in huge red letters that he is NOT one of the secret police— he is part of the group the secret police kills.
this secret police is marketed as morally gray, and the company who makes the show releases merch for you to dress up as the secret police (or as the group that they kill) for fun because they want you to think this is cute and aesthetic.
and also the secret police uses gas chambers.
oh and also also, people draw cutesy ship art of this man and the "good cop" cuddling, while the man is clearly labeled and wearing a bland jumpsuit that the secret police forces him to wear.

Shipping in the Loki Fandom
alright so I’ve seen a lot of posts and… I have some thoughts.
please read the whole post before getting mad at me, and if you do get mad at me, go outside. I can’t help you.
okay so, I’m sorry but. people saying they won’t watch the show unless lokius becomes canon??? guys it’s not going to be canon, and it’s fine. I’d love to be wrong about that, but. the prospect of a ship becoming canon is not what’s fun about shipping in any fandom.
please can we take off the tumblr lens of shipping being the most important part of every media and focus on the story this show is telling? loki said himself that his biggest priority is his friends. that’s canon!! and that’s super important for him and how far he’s come as a character!!
like don’t get me wrong, I ship lokius with my whole self. but the part that’s fun about shipping them, for me, is the fandom community and the art I’ve been making, NOT the hope that they’ll get into a romantic relationship onscreen, and I think people need to take a step back 🤷‍♂️
yes, it’s fun to point at the lingering glances and touches and heartfelt conversations and comfortable dynamic and say “they love each other”. they DO love each other. people working on the show (tom himself) have acknowledged that! whether it’s romantic or platonic doesn’t actually matter. but I’m obviously not going to beg anyone to watch the show. don’t watch it if you don’t want to! just remember that the point of this show has never been romance!
but regardless of that, can sylki shippers stop calling us “delusional” for participating in the fandom in ways we enjoy??
and can we acknowledge that the story means something apart from who we want Tom Hiddleston to kiss???
and keep your shipping hate off this post, please! and don’t put words in my mouth. if you disagree with me, feel free to tell me why (after which I will likely again encourage you to spend some time offline)

"Loki sacrificed himself to save Mobius!" Then why didn't he just kill Sylvie? If Mobius mattered more to Loki than Sylvie, why didn't he kill her? It's not like he lacked the means or the opportunity. Not to mention, his sacrifice was also a pretty big risk. There was always the chance that it wouldn't work, which means he was putting everyone else's lives at risk. So why would he risk Mobius's life if, as you claim, he wanted to save him when a more guaranteed solution had already been presented to him? I'll tell you why...because it was NOT about Mobius!

I'll be clear. I don't ship Lokius. But I totally understand the concept behind the ship. And surely if Sylvie didn't exist, I would ship Lokius. But the reality is that this ship is fanon, pure and simple and has obviously never been designed with a romantic or ambiguous perspective in my opinion. I really don't see how this relationship is supposed to be queerbaiting. All this talk really perplexes me. Lokius is a very valuable platonic relationship (confirmed by the creators to be platonic only) to me, as Mobius is literally the very first true friend Loki has ever made that we know of. Mobius is the first friend, while Sylvie is the first love. It's that simple.

(I don’t have any other Loki fans to rant about this to and hopefully you don’t mind 😭)
BROTHER. I KEEP seeing these bullshit “wow!!! Lokius is such an old married couple 🥺🥺 they’re so cute and sweet!!” Like….💀
*cricket sounds*
Like it’s gross and it’s just…it just gives me the ick that whole ship. Same reason I haven’t watched Loki s2 and don’t plan to (even if I’ve gotten minor spoilers n shit). But lokius fans make me wanna take 37 benadryl mixed with melatonin and knock myself OUT.
you're talking about lokius to ME??
Tumblr media
YOU GOT NO IDEA HOW BOTHERED I AM BY THAT SHIP !!!!
like, look. Ship what ya wanna ship, you know? I won't dictate anyone's feelings on the matter but ACK. it gives me the ickies.
It's simple, I see Mobius as none other than someone complicit in a genocidal dictatorship, willing to psychologically and physically torture someone (I mean, come on, it has been seen on screen in S1) who EVEN WHEN SEEING HE WAS WRONG, he just justified himself and never apologized. I see the way he acts towards Loki as full on projection (was raised by two abusive parents, so the whole "projecting your issues/insecurities" is something I'm very aware of.)
Like, shaming Loki for killing people when Mobius was participant in the murder of millions (Not justifying Loki's actions, just pointing out the hypocrisy). Blaming him for his mother's death when :
1- He hasn't done that
2- It was what the TVA wanted
and then have the BALLS to say "you can be a good person"? BRO. THAT FEELS LIKE PROJECTION TO ME. Feel free to say I'm wrong, but I said what I said.
Over all, he didn't even have a decent conversation with Loki asking him to talk about his feelings or thoughts.
As my bestie said:
People are desperate for gay pairings.
But give Loki a decent person 💀 ((thats why I'm being delulu and choosing to believe my OC x Loki is real/j))

there are people already hating on Mobius’s possible wife (it seems like he has a family) because it once again stops their ship
i’m praying for the actor/actress that plays his partner because the fangirls were horrible to Sophia di Martino in s1 (even though she is the cutest person to ever exist)
i’m hoping that mobius has a partner and kids because he gives such a dad vibe and Loki and Sylvie are their aunt and uncle that show up sometimes and definitely teach the kids how to commit crimes but that’s just in my little fantasy
i want mobius to have a husband because it would make some lokius stans go mad (i say some because their definitely really sweet ones out there) as they would finally have to admit they don’t want representation they just want to straight white men two kiss
my theory though is that Ravonna and Mobius are married, at the end of s1 we see that she is working as a school teacher and Mobius seems to sell jet skis (of course he does) and that definitely could be a pairing

i know i've talked so much about it today, but i seriously cannot get loki season 2 out of my head. everything i have learned about it has been against my will
it's genuinely messed up that so much of the dialogue in the loki series is spent talking about how loki is a bad person and a murderer and etc. when the loki show itself is the one that cut his redemption arc short.
a redemption arc, btw, which was for things he was likely either forced or manipulated into doing— and don't come to me saying the thanos torture is a headcanon. rewatch Avengers 1. he is harmed and threatened on screen. thanos canonically tortures his own daughters. and him harming LOKI is a stretch? come on, now.
"itS nOt CAnOn" shut up. curse of allspeak:

ok i’m truly not trying to put anyone on blast or be rude like no disrespect to op i genuinely apologize for using them as an example but i literally cannot take it anymore. can lokius shippers who are only semi critical of the loki series at best pretty please with a cherry on top stop putting shit technically approving of the series/it’s characters in the ANTI loki series tags… like i’m so serious it’s one of only tags we have left. keep this shit in the loki series criticism/critical tags because clearly you guys are not exactly ANTI loki series if you ship lokius/think the series could be redeemed, or if you approve of any of the characters in any way, shape, or form. you’re just a little critical of certain things that happened/did not happen in it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like in what world is arguing in FAVOR of any ship from the series considered ANTI loki series… you guys have your own tags as well as the normal loki tags that got taken over by your ships/ship war bullshit. PLEASE use them instead of ours and i mean this in the nicest way possible

I actually didn't even bother watching the second season of Loki because of the cheap marketing and inconsistent storytelling.
It just felt like the plot was lifted off somewhere it would have made sense, and a character with a similar ego was replaced with Loki and goes through an arc that might have made sense for a blank slate character, but not someone who already has a backstory.
Loki doesn't even feel like Loki after three episodes in S1. The whole point of having a show like that just seems to be about the TVA and Sylvie.
Also the whole genderfluid thing. They 'confirmed' it in the promo and had a line in the script that went completely against anything they just said.
I knew at once that the writers, directors and other parts of production were really just pulling it in different directions and it would probably sound like a jazz trumpeter and a metal guitarist trying to improvise after knowing each other for 15 minutes.
I've been meaning to watch it just so I can have educated opinions on all of it but it's just,, so hard to get into. I definitely agree the marketing was cheap, they did with the 80s McDonald's like they did DB Cooper!Loki and made it centric to the advertising because McDonalds was also getting something out of it which is kinda ass seeing as realistically Loki Laufeyson would burn 6 of them down before he ate in one 😭
I personally don't like either of the major ships in the show but the forced Sylki shit in season 1 really got to me. Like not only did she completely replace him as the main character in HIS show, she's also a variant of him who he wants to make out with and overall it just reads as lazy writing and it's extremely disappointing that Mike Waldron has been put in charge of Multiverse of Madness and The Kang Dynasty since, due to the popularity of the Loki TV show. I was talking to my boyfriend about this last night but it kinda reminds me of the complaints people had ab the last Indiana Jones movie but opposite? Like everyone complained his best friend's daughter was gonna replace him bc she's a Mary Sue and she rlly isnt, she's more reminiscent of Marion in Raiders of the Lost Ark she just doesn't wanna fuck him. But the difference is Indy is a character who's majorly blank for little boys to project themselves onto. Which is great!! It works for those kind of movies, but they're not character development centric like the individual mcu movies tend to be. Loki is characterized in a way that he's drowning in identity issues and family problems and he experiences growth in every installment whether it be positive or negative. It doesn't make sense to take the formula of an Indidna Jones movie where he meets up with a woman who's typically a love interest and has her own issues that are only slightly touched on because that's not the focus, and they go do the plot.
Sylvie is not an Indy Girl, they straight up are trying to replace Loki with Sylvie. And you can tell the character wasn't supposed to have as much importance as she does in the show bc the character was worked on more after the actress they chose was buddies with a producer ( and this is no hate to the actress I'm sure she's delightful everything I've seen her in in terms of interviews has been lovely ).
I also absolutely agree they should've just made a tva mini series to introduce the tva rather than bringing back a dead character who soon will not make much sense anyway because Tom Hiddleston is getting older (and also he deserves to branch out in his career).
The genderfluid thing was a cash grab and it sucks ass, they just want money for acknowledging things already canon in the comics, same with confirming him as bisexual.
My boyfriend is actually writing a fic on ao3 called Find Me that's rlly good if you want Loki content that isn't related to the show.
(YES this is shameless promotion sshhhhshshsh) but fr the loki TV show makes me more confident in my screenwriting bc t h a t got put on disney plus. I'm also working on a Loki show rewrite in my spare time!!

Idk which is worse, the delusional loki*s stans that are braindead enough to be convinced that the company that butchered the show’s queer rep is actually gonna make their ship canon or the annoying ass s*lkis that think having yet another unnecessary cookie cutter heteronormative romance that takes away from the plot and Loki’s character development is a good and profound thing.
I just wanna talk about the show without seeing 16379490405 posts about how “uwu he loves him/her so much, he/she is his new glorious purpose 🥹”. Like. That is SO NOT the point of the show, guys.
