my dad is a writer and talking about writing with him is always Interesting™ because i can talk about genres and structure and linear vs nonlinear narratives and large casts and the merit of very limited vs omniscient pov and tenses and filter words and all sorts of technical stuff

i love when you have an au so utterly different from canon that canon is absent. ive not been in the actual fandom for two years. i discuss the au on the daily. there is no semblance of canon plot. every character only shares a name, color pallete, and 3 base personality traits with their canon counterpart. the only reason we wont detach it is bc it is very hard to come up with names and we like the ones we stole from canon. at this point we're making aus of this au and calling this au canon.

...you know, there's plenty of JTTW retellings out there that do Sun Wukong dirty, but it feels like that's even more true when it comes to the Jade Emperor (X_X).
