The Heart's Invisible Furies [John Boyne]
started: March 21, 2021 finished: March 24, 2021 rating: 5/5
review:
its now been 2 weeks since i finished The Heart's Invisible Furies and tbh i still dont have the words to describe it.
first of all i've apparently wanted to read this book for at least 3 years. after i got it i found it on a random list of books in my notes of books i wanted that i made couple years ago. i have absolutely no idea where i heard about it the first time. i actually dont remember where i heard of it or why i put it on my list a couple months ago but evidently i did.
this was one of the (many) books that i intentionally didn't read the synopsis of and didn't want to know anything about it before reading. i knew bits going into it. i had the general info that it was about a boy born in Ireland who was adopted, it's set during The Troubles, and its gay enough to have the 'LGBT' tag on goodreads.
after a day of reading it my only comment i wrote down was: i think i cried 6 times reading the first 100ish pages.
which honestly sums up my entire experience reading the entire book.
the novel is organized so that each section is every seven years. there's a total of 11 sections so it covers 77 years all about Cyril Avery's life. the first section is about his mother dealing with being an unwed 16 year old pregnant woman in mid-1940s Ireland. and let me say: the actions of most of the 'adults' are absolutely horrific. the first chapter is Cyril's mother, Catherine, being kicked out of her village at Sunday Mass. her entire family and the rest of the village are against her and back the priest who tells her she has like an hour to leave the village and never come back.
when she gets on a bus to Dublin, she meets Seán who is also escaping his village to Dublin. they arrive and are greeted by Seán's 'friend' Jack who reluctantly agrees to let Catherine stay with them until she can support herself. its pretty obvious that Seán and Jack are a little more than friends but Catherine doesnt think anything of it until the end of the section. before the end tho, we meet the only valid adult / person of a previous generation, Mrs. Hennessy. i absolutely loved that she makes an appearance the the following section and gets name dropped throughout the rest of the novel. this first section is where we learn her general backstory and god fucking damn it i was appalled. at this point its less than 50 pages into the book and i was nearly full on sobbing. and the tears dont let up from there either! right after finding out what Mrs. Hennessy has gone through, Catherine returns back to the apartment she shares with Seán and Jack and once again there's adult and parent who is absolutely horrendous. this is finally when Catherine learns that the two boys are actually in a relationship because, who we later learn is Seán's father, who Seán was escaping from when he left his village, forces himself into the apartment. within the next few minutes, there is a filicide , someone left on the brink of death, and a birth.
this is literally all 50 pages into a nearly 600 page book. it sets the tone for the rest of it and gives a solid understanding of the mindset of Ireland in this time.
7 years later, we finally meet Cyril as as not just the concept that is causing issues for Catherine. we're introduced to the couple that adopted Cyril, who are odd to say the least. they are the type of parents that didn't really want a child because they were ready but instead as a show piece. the Avery's also constantly remind Cyril (and others) that he is 'not a real Avery'. hmm i wonder if this will have an impact on Cyril's future relationships?????
his relationship with Julian Woodbead is one of the most important to Cyril's life. i think its talked about later in the novel how their friendship is built on a lie. from the start Cyril is obsessed with Julian and Julian doesnt acknowledge it really. the perception of their friendship is so biased since we are viewing the world from Cyril's point of view and how he is effected. because of this perceptive, its so hard to believe that Julian didn't know that Cyril was in love with him. but i think Julian was such a product of the environment his was raised in and living by the acceptable ideas of the time. from an early age one of his defining traits is essentially being a womanizer. its hard to tell how much of him is just for show and how different him, and Cyril, would be free of a society with such strict exceptions and definitions of right and wrong. was Julian truly completely straight? or was he lying to everyone and himself to fit in with society?
Cyril deals with his repression of being gay in such a detrimental way the entire time he lives in Ireland. he constantly lies to everyone in his life and forces himself to live a lie. his inability to confide in anyone leads him to getting engaged to, sleeping with, and ultimately marrying Julian's sister, Alice.
oh my god the lead up to the marriage ceremony and the events after hurt so many people and i didn't know who's side i was on for them. Cyril ends up in a relationship with Alice and somehow engaged to her. he almost breaks it off with her but every time he cant say the words. its heartbreaking thinking about Cyril was just so fearful to tell the truth to people who loved him.
its finally on the wedding day that Cyril confesses to Julian that he doesnt love Alice in any romantic way because he's gay and is actually in love with Julian. Cyril wants to Julian to allow him to not go forward with the marriage but with Alice's past (she had a previous fiance that left her at the alter) Julian tells Cyril that he's going to marry his sister and be a perfect husband to her.
Cyril does it. partially. he marries Alice then flees the entire country. coming from Cyril's point of view, i was relived that he was free from lying to everyone. but on the other side -- he just left everyone hurt and unhappy in the wake of his actions. its so easy to see how Cyril feels forced into his decisions but understanding how those decisions affect the people around him make it hard to support Cyril.
7 years later we meet the most important man in Cyril's life, Bastiaan. after leaving Ireland, Cyril ends up in Amsterdam, where it is so much more acceptable to be gay holy shit. he meets and starts dating Bastiaan there. Bastiaan helps Cyril unlearn a lot of what he was forced to live by and accept who he is as a person.
he also meets Jack who opened an Irish pub in Amsterdam with the name of Seán's last name. when i realized it was Jack from before and Jack named his pub after Seán made me weep like a fucking baby.
i could list all the times i started crying but i would end up crying all over again and have to add more to the list.
anyway in Amsterdam Cyril and Bastiaan acquire a foster son, Ignac, who just like everyone else in this novel, has a tragic past. after some events (another murder, this time the dick head is the one killed instead of the one doing the killing) and the three of them end up in New York.
they are in America during the beginning of the AIDS crisis and holy shit. yeah more balling. thats the main takeaway.
in New York, Cyril volunteers to talk to AIDS patients who are dying but have no family visiting them. one of the patients is Julian. once again i turn into a fucking baby. Julian reveals to Cyril that he has a son back in Ireland from the one time he slept with Alice. im gonna cry if i think about Julian and Cyril talking anymore i stg. but uhh Julian makes Cyril promise that he'd be the one to call Alice when he died and once Julian does pass, Cyril has every intention on doing just that. but before he can, him and Bastiaan are jumped by a group of thugs who end up seriously injuring Cyril and killing Bastiaan.
7 years later, Cyril is back in Ireland with Ignac. this time he is in Ireland as an openly gay man and is attempting to build a relationship with his son.
there's so much more that happens that i can't even convey. but holy fuck was it so god damn fucking good.
finally when Cyril is in his 60s he figures out that he is the son of Mrs. Goggins, who has never really left the story. Cyril and Julian run in to her when they are 14 in boarding school, Cyril runs into her multiple times when he works almost with her, the morning of his wedding at a cafe, and when he returns he works in the same building that she does. so throughout his life his birth mother was right there but neither of them knew it.
after 7 years, they go together back to the village that Catherine was born, raised, and kicked out of. its finally here where we learn the identity of Cyril's birth father (Catherine's aunt's husband).
bro i gotta be done now. like there's much more that i want to talk about regarding The Heart's Invisible Furies but i just cant think of them rn.
tl;dr - ballin like a baby the whole way through. also society sucks.pls read its worth it

I Can’t Explain It
Fanfic writer: MaximumKillshot
Warnings: Angst with a wee bit o’ fluff
Characters: Sam, Dean,Reader, Cas, Ghost!Bobby
A/N: Hey everyone its me again! I did this one for Bailey’s Disney Quote Challenge by @jayankles My quote is “Well there’s the usual things: flowers… chocolates….promises you don’t intend to keep…”- Cogsworth, Beauty and The Beast , It will be bolded for you guys!(if you want in on the tags, message me or send me an ask, always looking for new people to add to the Army!!!)
How long had it been? You had no clue. You just know that you were passed out in Baby on the borderline of Ohio and now you were in your bed at the bunker and tucked in with a note next to you. To say you were confused was the least of it. The note read:
Hey Princess,
You were too peaceful to wake up and we got in late, so I carried you to your bed. Sammy and I had to go out really quickly, you know where everything is, just don’t eat all of the bacon like you did last time.
Dean
Where did they go off to? You thought to yourself. Your brain was still foggy and you had a blaring headache from the Vampire that threw you against the wall of a barn outside of New Jersey’s state limits. To help combat that you made a beeline to the kitchen for coffee. As always, Dean made the coffee before you got up, thank God. You hadn’t been in the bunker for almost a month because a hunter from the East Coast called you in need of some major assistance. You never would’ve thought that you’d have this when you were introduced into this life. Someone to carry you to your bed in the middle of the night because you were too tired, someone who would make coffee in the morning, someone who cared…. You had been on your own for a while before this. Everyone that is in this life has a horror story as to how they were introduced to the things that go bump in the night. You were no different.
One day you were out on your regular jog and then the next thing that you knew you were in a weird ass wearhouse tied up to a metal beam. You were 18, just out of the foster care system, and you knew no one would care if you were missing. When you got a clear look at the thing that towered over you, it had fangs. That was when you realized that vampires were a real thing and that you were indeed screwed. That was until Bobby came in and decapitated all of them and set you free. You couldn’t go back to regular life after that, mostly because you had no life, you were an orphan with no home, and somehow expected to find a job and be an adult with no guidance. You ended up staying with Bobby for the longest, he sent you to other hunters to train you after he became paralyzed but none of them could ever connect with you like Bobby did. You continued under his tutelage, honing your skills and loving the life.
When you were ready to go out on your own Bobby encouraged it. You didn’t want to leave him, you had this nagging feeling that something was going to happen to him. You decided to call him every day at some point to check in on him. Every time he’d say “quit being such an id’jit and hunt like I taught ya’ I’m fine darlin’ ”  and then you’d hang up. This had been your life for four years.
“Hey Bobby I know you hate this but you’ve gotta give me some reason to believe your hard headed ass is still alive” you chuckled on the phone. Bobby’s voice wasn’t on the other end.
“Y/N..” That voice… That hard, raspy yet smooth feeling voice that can only be described as Dean Winchester picked up Bobby’s phone. You’d thought nothing of it. The Winchesters usually stay with Bobby, it wasn’t uncommon for Dean to answer the phone and then hearing Bobby yell “Give me my damn phone… nosy ass”… in the background.
You didn’t hear Bobby and it all clicked “No…. Dean NO” you uttered grabbing your stomach, feeling like you were going to throw up. You completely forgot the fact that you were in the middle of a parking lot at a mall in Minneapolis. You had to get  yet another flannel shirt because yet another werewolf decided to not give up and attack you, thus, bleeding all over your favorite one.
“Y/N I’m so sor..” That’s all Dean could get out before you yelled.
“No Dean, no, don’t you dare give me condolences for someone that isn’t dead! No! Not Bobby” You yelled feeling the tears threaten your eyes as you opened the door to your car and sat down, slamming the door behind you so forcefully that the window rattled.
“Y/N…Where are you?” asked Dean.
“Minneapolis…. You know what.. I’m going Bobby’s, you guys there now?” you said with conviction, you were going to prove them wrong, somehow.
“Yeah, we just got here with his..” said Dean before you interrupted.
“Shut it Dean, He’s not dead ok I just visited him a few days ago…. I’ll see you in about 5 hours.” you said looking at your watch, there was no way that Bobby was dead. The whole way to the house you had the same gut feeling that you had had when you left Bobby’s four years ago.
As soon as you pulled up you saw that familiar black Impala, in pristine condition, as always, everything looked normal. You knew Bobby was fine. After you turned off your car you saw Dean coming out to meet you on the porch, which he rarely did. Bobby always sent Dean out to calm you down whenever someone died or something remotely possibly traumatizing happened. He was the only one that could get through your thick skull.
Dean walked off of the porch and stood at the base of its stairs, blocking the stairway.
“Y/N we’ve gotta talk before anything else” said Dean.
“Dean it’s fine I’m just going to show you that Bobby’s fine, we can catch up, and then keep on going ok?” You said trying to shove by him but he stood firm.
“Y/N” said Dean as you looked behind him to see what he was blocking with his body, it was Bobby’s wheelchair on the porch with blood on it. You froze when you saw it…
Dean looked behind him to see the wheelchair and looked at you.
“Dean where the hell is Bobby? Dean… Where is he?!” You started to scream at him, trying to get by him. Dean did not let you through restraining you in a hold and saying: “I can’t let you in there y/n,I can’t do that sweetheart”
You heard his voice crack as you struggled in his hold and you started to cry, “Dean just let me in…. Let me see Bobby please… Dean Bobby needs me please!” Your sobbs now turning into a painful weeping that even got to Dean as he held you.  Dean held you and kissed your head.
“We tried everything sweetheart… he’s gone.. We tried” said Dean… as soon as you heard that you stopped fighting and you turned in his hold and grabbed him in a hug as you both collapsed to the ground, crying because of the pain.
When you finally got in to see him, Sammy was already wrapping him up for the pyre. You held Dean’s hand as you walked towards Bobby, lying on the researching table in the library. The table where he explained all of the unexplainable, the table where you’d stand up and dance just to make him laugh during tough cases. All of the memories rushed through your head as you looked at him, motionless and wrapped up to the neck in linens.
“Bobby…. C’mon Bobby, you’re all I’ve got….please” you said as you released Dean’s hand and lightly grabbed the sides of Bobby’s face, looking for any sign of life. When you felt his skin, it was frozen to the touch…. Bobby was dead… You kissed him on his forehead and went to where you thought was the most comfortable place. In Dean’s arms. As soon as you turned he was right behind you, almost ready for you to collapse into a crying mess on his chest.  You immediately felt his body encapsulate you, protect you from whatever demons he could as you openly cried into his protective embrace. You felt his hands come around you and rub your back, a tiny sign that said that he was there and he felt your pain.
Three days later, at the pyre was the worst though. Every hunter in the continental US came, everyone knew Bobby. They also knew that your connection to him was close. What they didn’t know that Sammy and Dean did know was that Bobby considered you the daughter that he never had. You considered him the father that you didn’t deserve, but got anyway. Everyone came up to you as a grieving friend, while Sammy and Dean treated you like a mourning daughter. When the pyre was lit you lost it, Dean had just caught you by the wrists as you darted toward the flames of the pyre. You had such force behind your stride that when Dean grabbed your wrist, you fell into him. This gave him enough time to grab your other wrist before you got your footing and kept on trying to get to Bobby
“Dean let go of me!! Bobby!!!!” you felt the pain in your wrists that meant that bruises would be there the next morning and you couldn’t care less. You had actually begun to tug Dean with you toward the pyre, not even caring that every other hunter is seeing you in this weak state.
“Sam help me out here!” Yelled Dean and Sam grabbed your wrists, taking Dean’s place. Dean then went in front of you, blocking your view of the pyre.
“Y/N, look at me sweetheart” Said Dean as he grabbed your face. The tears immediately wetting his palms as he directed your gaze from his chest to his face. As soon as your eyes connected with his eyes he continued.
“Good job, just look at me…. There you go hon… Breathe… There ya go, breathe”
“But Bobby, Dean, Bobby needs me” you uttered
“Bobby’s okay, but I need you right now okay? Look at me… There you go, there you go, Breathe for me sweetheart” said Dean slowly soothing you.
Slowly you stopped fighting Sam’s hold on your wrists and Dean nodded to his younger brother, silently giving the order to let you go. As soon as he let go your arms clung to Dean as your knees gave out and you started sobbing. Dean held you up saying how good you were doing for him. To not let go of him. When you realized how weak you looked you muttered your concerns into Dean’s chest and his response was just as simple as Bobby’s would’ve been “Fuck them and what they think…. You’re in pain, you let it out sweetheart”.
The whole entire time that pyre went on, your face stood buried in Dean’s chest, it was where you felt most comfortable. You couldn’t explain it and neither could Dean. He wasn’t usually into hugs, and crying always made him feel uncomfortable. When it was you, it was a completely different story, for some reason ever since he met you he felt that it was his responsibility to protect you, comfort you, and make you happy. You have both even joked about it in less tense situations at Bobby’s when they’d visit and you were training.
The next few weeks the boys stood with you at Bobby’s as you dealt with the loss, sometimes you’d automatically call Bobby’s cell and then realize that he was gone. Dean would be the one that would mostly watch you overnight so that you could be woken up from a nightmare, and Sam took care of you in the mornings, when you didn’t want to get out of bed because you were so depressed.
That’s how your life was for a few weeks after Bobby’s death. After that you began to get better and within a few months you caught a case. When you went to go on your own Dean was so against you going on your own that he blocked the door and refused to move if he or Sam couldn’t go with you. You decided that they could both come if they wanted to and they did. That one job turned into 5. That 5 turned into 10… you get the picture. As you three hunted together, you became a well oiled machine. The brothers soon didn’t need to give you orders, they just had to look and you knew exactly what to do.
A few months later Dean  and Sam came up to you with a gift when all three of you were relaxing at a motel outside of Green Bay. You had never received a gift from anyone except for Bobby and you didn’t know what to say. All Dean said was “open it”. When you did it was a key. You didn’t know what the key belonged to and you said “What is this for Dean?”.
“Well it’s for your new home… if you want it” said Dean as you sat there, puzzled.
“We have a bunker in Lebanon, Sammy and I talked about it and well… we work so well together… And I remember you saying when you saw Bobby being prepared that you had no one… But you have us, we… well I especially want you close….” said Dean stumbling through his words, nervously.
“What my brother is trying to ask is… Would you like to move in with us?” said Sam looking at his brother with a half smile then back to you.
“Guys… I never really had a home…. And I don’t want to intrude” you said nervously.
“Well you didn’t have a home until now…. With us” said Sam enthusiastically.
“Only if you want it” said Dean directly after Sam.
“Yeah…. I’d love to move in with you guys” you said.
Now here you were, two years later, happier than ever… All because Bobby died, but he left you with two amazing boys.

The creaking and crackling of the iron door is what snapped you out of the bittersweet memories and you realized you haven’t even touched the coffee pot.
“Hey Look Sammy Sleeping Beauty’s up!” Yelled Dean as he brought in groceries to re-stock the fridge. Sammy was right behind him.
When you smiled at him, he knew, it was that distant I just remembered some shit that makes me smile and cry at the same time smile. He knew it was about Bobby.
“Hey whatcha remembering?” asked Dean kissing the crown of your head.
“Nothing important” You replied, knowing that Dean knew very well it was something big.
“Ok so nothing important, yea that makes sense since you didn’t even get yourself coffee yet” said Dean through a half smile “seriously what is it?”
“I was just remembering how we got so close, the three of us. After Bobby and how much you guys helped me through it.” you said as you poured your cup, then you grabbed a second one for Dean. As Dean was sipping his coffee, thinking of a response Sam said “ Listen, we knew that Bobby loved you more than anything…. Like some other people”
Dean choked on his coffee and blamed it on the temperature and then glared at his brother, Sam continued “Bobby knew that you would not take his passing well and we knew that too… So what I’m trying to say is, Bobby, Dean, and myself all want you to know that there was not one point in time after you met Bobby that you didn’t have family or a place to stay, you always had a home with us as well as Bobby, y/n… You just didn’t realize it yet”.
“Really?” you were truly puzzled that these men were prepared to take you in at any moment’s notice simply because you knew Bobby.
“There is really only one sure-fire way that Bobby would tell us that he really loved you. Don’t ask because I can’t tell you what that is. But know that he made it abundantly clear that he loved you” said Sam looking at Dean.
“Thanks guys” you said to the boys.
A few hours later in the bunker Dean came up to you in the entertainment room and he said “Hey sweetheart, I was wondering if you wanted to take a walk with me”
You decided that a walk would be nice since it was the first time in months that it wasn’t scorching hot.
When you walked by Sam he had a smile on his face, which was odd considering that he was looking through crime scene photos on his laptop at one of the tables in the library.
Dean looked at Sam and said “Sammy, we’re going for a walk”
“Okay, have fun you guys” said Sam as Dean held the door open for you.
“We walking to the little shop again?” you asked. Most of the time when you went on walks with the boys you guys always went to a little odds and ends shop that was maybe 3 miles away from the bunker.
“Nah, we’re goin this way, I found a really good spot” said Dean as he started to walk towards a smaller path that was going into the woods that were behind the bunker. You followed Dean, thinking that it was only going to be a short walk.
“A good spot for what Dean?”
“You’ll see sweetheart”
After about twenty minutes of walking on this little path, a little clearing opened up. It was a beautiful green patch surrounded by trees and in the center was a picnic setting. The sun was at the perfect height and it illuminated the space perfectly.
You immediately said “Dean, what is all of this?” as you walked towards the center where the picnic setting was.
Dean helped you sit down and said “Well, I need to tell you something and I wanted it to be special”
And that thing would be?” you asked.
Dean replied with something that you never would have guessed. He said “Ok so I wanted to tell you something about Bobby”, you looked on with confusion as he sat and then he continued “Ook so you were never told what happened to Bobby. He was shot and killed by a man named Dick Roman. He was the leader of the Leviathans… I know that Bobby had told you about him but that we didn’t know where he was… He lied”
“Why? Why would he lie to me Dean?” you said with concern.
Dean replied with “You were like a daughter to him. Add that onto your hairpin trigger, he didn’t want you anywhere near this issue because he knew that you’d gladly trade your life for his. That’s why he was always short with you on the phone… That’s also why he tried to rush you out of the house, in case they came for him, he didn’t want you in the crossfire. Hell it’s even why Cas doesn’t even know about you”
“Ok so why the picnic then?” you asked him.
Dean replied, “Today, Sammy said something that brought Bobby to us… He said that Bobby loved you ‘among other people’…. Bobby told me something that contradicted something that he told me before he was shot… He gave me….I’m getting ahead of myself. Before we went to fight Roman, he told me something, Sammy was there too. He told me that he saw the way that I looked at you…. He never asked anything of me except for these 2 things. One. If he were to die, to take care of you; like Sammy said he knew that you would be torn to shreds and that I needed to be there to ‘knock some sense’ into you. The second thing that he asked me to do was the hardest thing I could do. He asked me to never tell you how I feel. To keep you at arm’s length….”
You interjected with “Dean, I don’t understand, what does this have to do with a picnic and how did Bobby contact you if he’s dead?”
“Hold on Princess I’m getting there I promise” uttered Dean as he looked at you into you eyes and continued “Bobby only comes around when we need help or if we are on the wrong path and he is allowed to interfere. Bobby turned on the radio as I was working on Baby and he started to mess with it. I grabbed a recorder and I recorded around me to see if I could pick up his voice and I did… He… well let me play it.”
Dean then got a recorder out of his pocket and pressed play.
You then heard Bobby’s voice ring out of the speaker, “Dean, I was wrong tell her… she needs you”
You then asked “What is he talking about Dean?”
“He’s talking about my feelings for you. Ever since you came into my life, I have felt pulled towards you, hell, we’ve even talked about it, remember?” said Dean as he tried to explain.
“Yes, I feel that pull too why?” you asked.
“It’s more than a pull. I can feel it when I’m with you… I feel like I need to protect you, like I need to be with you all of the time. That’s why I haven’t left your side and why I am so overprotective of you… From the minute I saw you… I loved you…I can’t explain it. That’s why I’d always drop by Bobby’s, I needed to be closer to you. Anytime I was away I felt like….like” Dean was struggling with his words as you blurted “like a part of you is missing”.
You knew exactly what he was talking about. You felt the same thing and even expressed it to Bobby, but he never let you go to train with Dean because of the fact that people around the Winchesters tend to die, especially the green ones… Like Kevin.
“Yes exactly, but Bobby told me that it was best for me not to tell you because I can’t form attachments like Sammy and the whole people dropping like flies around us situation. I had this notion that a relationship went a certain way.” said Dean
“And what did that notion entail exactly?” you asked.
“Well there’s the usual things: flowers… chocolates….promises you don’t intend to keep…” said Dean, chuckling at the last one. “But I was wrong, a relationship is wanting to hold you at night, and kiss you in the morning. I want to serve you breakfast in bed and run the bath for you. It’s wanting to share every waking moment with you… I want to never let you go….. But what I feel is all of these things times a hundred.”
“I know I feel the same way… I can even feel you when you’re near me” you said to Dean while feeling like that magnet that was pulling you two together was only getting stronger.
“So can we? Should we? Date?” said Dean as he rubbed the back of his neck. It was cute when he got nervous, you could see his apprehension at the thought of a relationship and you immediately calmed him, telling him that what he just said was the best idea he’s ever had and that you would love to date him. After you finsihed the picnic and packed up you both began to head to the bunker.
When you made it there, Dean opened the door for you and then called out out Sam “ Hey Sam”. Then Sam looked up from his laptop, now stationed at the kitchen island where Cas was, he must’ve came in while you were out with Dean. You felt nervous because he didn’t know you. “Hey guys, how was the walk? Did you finally do it?”
Dean then said “Do what?” with a smile and his brother retorted with “Oh please you two are so attracted to each other that it’s sickening… tell me you asked her out already”
“Yeah I did and she said yes, also Cas this is..” said Dean as Cas interjected.
“y/f/n y/l/n, I can’t believe that you found her…” said Cas and Dean walked up to him and said “How do you know her?”
“I know everything about your soul Dean, and she is your soulmate” Said Cas in a matter of fact tone.
“What?” said Dean, trying to piece everything together.
“Yes, when your souls were created, there was a piece that was taken from each of you and swapped. So that hopefully you two could be together. You’ve probably felt a need to protect her, take care of her, do things for her that you would otherwise never do….. It’s because you two are made for eachother” said Cas in a matter of fact tone.
“Well that explains a lot” mumbled Sam as he typed away on his computer… “Will you two be okay if I go on a salt and burn a few towns over?” said Sam.
“Oh I think that we can find a few things to do” said Dean as he grabbed you by the waist.
