Concept: Strange puts Otto up in an apartment somewhere so he can have his own space outside of the sanctorum. Otto single-handedly reduces the housing costs in the area so the building receives an influx of undergrad/grad students looking to stay. They’re all weary of him at first (and he of them). He tries to only go out at night to avoid as many people as possible but quickly realizes his folly. College students are up at all hours of the day and all odd hours of the night. As hard as he tries, he can’t avoid sharing elevator cars or bumping into them at the mail boxes.
Eventually they all acclimate.
Otto becomes their surrogate college dad. Every so often, if he’s feeling the energy for it, he’ll leave his door unlocked over the weekend if students need a safe space. He has four cybernetic arms, he’s not worried about being robbed or anything. The students sometimes leave knickknacks in return for his curious arms to play with.
He finds a purpose in it and realizes he enjoys the feeling he gets from taking care of others.
