Camilo loves you very much, so he's, naturally, very supportive and understanding. But also completely chill about it.
(This is more of a personal Camilo hc but I see him as either bi or pan so he doesn't care about your gender).
If you end up crying while doing it he'll comfort you in any way you prefer.
If you like hugs, he'll hug you close and nice, give you a little kiss on the forehead.
"Amor, it's okay! I love you, alright? Thanks for telling me." He says that with that sweet Camilo smile, I'm picturing it and I hope you are too.
I think with him being a shape shifter he's had at least one gender identity crisis, so he probably knows what genderfluid is from the research he did back then.
So you don't need to explain anything! But if you still want to just to be sure he'll listen, of course.
From then on the second thing he does when he sees you for the first time in the day is ask what your pronouns are.

Omegaverse: I know not everyone likes this trope but i'm a absaloute sucker for it. I can do Alpha, Beta, or Omega for charecters or Reader. I do write heats but not in a sexual way, i personally write them kinda like a human period but replace the blood with increased body tempetures.
Any Gender: I am personally genderfluid and AFAB so those are the two that I would have the most experience with. Alterhuman Reader: Ok so I see absaloutly no alterhuman reader fanfics out there so i'm here to change that. I'm not personally a alterhuman but I do have a few freinds that are. If you want me to do a specific one instead of basic I can also do that. Like instead of a dragon kin I can do a dragon kin with space wing and starts eyes with claws that glow in the dark ect.

Fuck all of the trolls who drove @carlaerosie to suicide, seriously, she was such a darling but you people no no bounds. She was just a teen and yet she acted with more grace and maturity than most of the adults on here. Truly disappointing to see just how racist and sexist the Encanto fandom is. I don’t know what other way to say it but...ENCANTO IS NOT FOR YOU. If you’re white and queer/neurodivergent than this movie is not for you.
Isabela didn’t want to marry Mariano because she didn’t love him and because she was under pressure to be perfect, NOT because she was a lesbian.
Mirabel’s rainbow on her dress may resemble the bisexual flag and her voice actress may be openly bisexual, but it’s more so to represent the warm-colored family. NOT bisexuality.
Dolores squeaks because it’s a common trait of Colombian women when hearing or sharing gossip and was actually developed as a coping mechanism so that European colonizers wouldn’t know what they were saying, it is NOT a tic!
Luisa is NOT trans, women can be buff without having been assigned male at birth and this is obviously just a way for racist transphobes(the type who are too scared to say that they see trans women and Black/brown women as men) to come up with an excuse for her strength and buffness by deciding that she is buff because she’s “male” and thus masculinizing her.
Camilo shapeshifting and suffering an identity crisis is NOT because he’s genderfluid, he has only ever been referred to as a BOY, and this one annoys me the most because at this point I honestly feel like the obsession with him being “so gender uwu” is just a tactic to hide or deny the fact that he’s male because that is the main reason you fuckers chose to obsess over HIM over the female characters, so you project traditionally feminine or gender non-conforming traits onto him so as to ignore the positive messages the female characters--as the center of the story--send about femininity! Y’all don’t care that Luisa can be both strong and feminine or that Isabela learns to embrace her own form of femininity by the end of the movie rather than the typical “not like other girls” form of female revolution, and is the pretty character of the story while also being a dark-skinned indigenous woman. No, it’s more crucial to try to force the animators to admit that Camilo might be wearing eyeshadow. I would be laughing if it weren’t actually so damn sad.
Why am I saying all this? Because the minority of the fandom who gets it, particularly Latines and other people of color, have been saying it for ages, trying to call out the Encanto fandom on their blatant, blind-sided ignorance, but they didn’t listen. @carlaerosie was one of those people, and they decided that because she was fifteen they could talk down to her and take advantage of her! And what do you know, they took her life with this stupid bullshit. Why am I saying this on my main blog which is about Black women’s issues and not my Isabela Madrigal sideblog? Because the fandom racism, sexism, and misogynoir that is so present in this fandom is fucking gross and I am tired of it. You literally killed this young Afro-Colombian teenage girl because you couldn’t handle that this movie was not for yo pasty asses and because she had the ovaries to call you out on your blatant erasure and protect and defend her culture, so you decided she deserved to die. And it makes me sick. That’s why I won’t be associating myself with the fandom for now. I am truly just so repulsed and bothered and annoyed.

I been on here for at least an entire month or so, I feel I should properly introduce myself or something
I'm genderfluid and prefer to go by they/them pronouns I'm autistic as well which is most likely the reason I get so passionate about my special interests. I made this blog to post and reblog about Saint Seiya because the entire franchise is one of my biggest special interests and I don't really get to share about it much since hardly anyone I know likes it !! I like other ships but these are the ones I especially love to see fanart and fanfiction for Hyoshun is my main Ship ! Shirseiy and Camilo are close to being second.

Random thought while watching someone react to Encanto. I've seen a good number of queer headcanons for Isabela and Camilo as closeted lesbian and genderfluid, respectively, but I just had the thought of "Mirabel feels like she's lacking something everyone else has" which is also what a lot of aro and/or ace people feel like in the current heteronormative society.
The receiving of a Gift is even framed as a minor "coming of age" like puberty, which is when feelings start to come in for most people. But Mirabel didn't get the Gift. She didn't get what most of the people around her did.

there's more genderfluid headcanons for Camilo than anything, and that just goes back to the shapeshifter myths and how often shapeshifters are portrayed like that. mostly I think its because of Loki, specifically, but yeah. I understand it...

No but like, if they ever make the Encanto series they really need to explore more about Camilo and his own issues, very heavily (they need to compensate the lack of his character in the movie alright I dont make the rules)
And I think the best way to do it is by having him go through the transition of the new family dynamic after the movie and not knowing how to deal with it. (Yes the shapeshifter has trouble adapting to new stuff fight me)
He was always the smooth, relaxed, rebelious funny guy of the family Madrigal, and knew exactly how to imitate and copy everyone around him. He was the perfect chameleon ready to lighten the mood.
But now, everyone's personalities have shifted a lot, and he doesn’t know how to mimic them like before.
Luisa now relaxes a lot more, even goes to play and talk with the children of the village and making friends her age too. Isabela is now the rebellious of the family and goes around no longer as a model of perfection, but just as an adventurer ready to learn what many other plants could she create.
Dolores no longer feels pressured to be the one listening to all of the people's troubles and struggles, she can now focus on herself and on her new relationship with Mariano; she doesn’t really pays attention and just talks really smoothly and passionate with her amorcito. Mirabel went from outcast to towns favorite really quick, teaching them how to fix dresses and ruanas, how to make plushies and so on, she is now the beacon of the fun times for everyone.
Julieta and Pepa are more vocal now about their own emotions. Julieta now leaves the cooking to Agustín and then she adds the magical touch. Pepa's storms are actually manageable since she doesn’t bottle up her emotions anymore (Felix couldn't be more delighted about his love's new freedom).
Tío Bruno went from mysterious and terrifing to actual sweetheart, and its a whole new person Camilo hasn't seen enough about to actually know him.
He isn't the true copycat of anyone. everyone changed so quickly that everything he learned about their mannerisms and personalities doesn’t matter anymore.
Neither he is the most relaxed, the most rebellious, the smoothest or the funniest of the family Madrigal.
What exactly is he now?
Has he spend so much time learning about others interests and clicks, that he totally forgot to find his own unique self?
