Okay, but like... I haven't seen anyone else talk about it, but I NEED to talk about this, so excuse my ranting!

Hunter and Philip's reunion was horrible and terrifying and I hated it, but also LOVED it. For one thing, we finally got a Wittebro name reveal and confirmation that Flapjack was his palisman!!

But the thing I really want to talk about right now is Hunter.

As Philip makes one last ditch attempt to gain control over Hunter again, the poor kid is terrified.

Then, after the Collector Splats(tm) Philip, he is completely mortified over what he just saw. Because while it is true that Philip has done nothing but abuse and manipulate Hunter all his life, he was still the one that raised him. He was still the one that Hunter loved, praised, and believed in for all those years. He was still family, in some sick, twisted way.

And then, when all the kids are running toward the Portal, Hunter is the only one to hesitate. Because making it to the Portal means stepping over what (he believes to be) Philip's deceased remains. After everything that Philip has done to him, the other Golden Guards, and even his own brother--the one Hunter was made after-- he can't bring himself to disrespect Philip's remains in such a way.

It's only after Gus and Willow stop and urge him on does he begin to move again.

And even still, he has his eyes tightly shut, as if refusing to look down.

I don't really have the words to describe how this all makes me feel, but damn... It just really speaks volumes about how much of a better person Hunter--and by extension Caleb-- is than Philip. How much kinder, considerate, and caring they both are. It honestly breaks my heart.

K so Jacob Hopkins is definitely a descendant of the Wittebane family and this definitely gonna be a plot point in ToH S3

I've seen other people mention this but I wanna add to it. (I'm not even joking I wrote this like 3 months ago and completely forgot about it)

First of all, Jacob was the one to introduce the idea of the Wittebros into the show in the first place. He's the one who gave us context.

He's also the conspiracy theory guy. He's basically the modern day witch hunter. He refers to the Demon Realm as a "realm of evil" and how he can "protect humanity" from this evil. Sound familiar?

Second of all, their appearance.

I think at this point we all understand that the ToH crew make decisions about visual elements very carefully. They choose everything they include for a reason, and that's the fun in watching this show lol.

The reason why were able to safely assume that Hunter is a clone/grimwalker of Caleb was because of their appearance. Even before we saw the paintings of what Caleb looked like, people were able to piece together how Hunter was a grimwalker of Caleb and how Belos was actually Phillip by their facial structure and their hair.

Observe:

Jacob's hair goes back in the same way Hunter and Caleb's does and has the same hairline as all three Wittebanes, but its brown like Phillip's hair. He also has the lil hair strand sticking out in the front like Caleb, Hunter, and Phillip do.

Jacob's nose is most like Hunter's and Caleb's, but it still goes out a little bit towards the tip like Phillip's.

Jacob has Hunter and Caleb's strong jawline and chin, but he also has his lil goatee which could be a nod to Phillip's beard in Elsewhere and Elsewhen.

Jacob has Caleb's eye shape and Phillip's eye color.

Their appearances are all too similar for it to be a coincidence. Like I said before, the ToH team loves to give these visual clues to help the audience piece together what's going to happen, at least with the Wittebane plotline, way before anything is confirmed within the universe of the show.

The fandom was right about Hunter being a grimwalker, being a grimwalker of Phillip's brother specifically, Phillip being Belos, and that Phillip's brother was named Caleb (well that one is all but explicitly stated but it's pretty much canon at this point). I'm positive the fandom is right about Caleb falling in love with a mystery witch and their family became the Clawthornes, and most of these theories were based in visual elements alone (the exception being Caleb's name)

While I feel like its very very likely that Jacob is a descendant of the Wittebanes, its obvious that he isn’t a descendant of Phillip or Caleb. The Wittebros both got stuck on the BI at the same time and never made it back. Its heavily implied that Caleb’s family became the Clawthornes, and its never indicated if Phillip ever had a family of his own or not, I think its unlikely. So what? A third Wittebane brother? A sister? A cousin? My guess is that ToH is gonna pull a Gravity Falls and reveal an additional sibling, (The Stan twins + Shirley who was later revealed to be the grandmother of the Pines twins which explained how Stan and Ford were both uncles in In a Tale of Two Stans) during the backstory episode that explains how Jacob could be related to the Wittebane family.

Since Jacob is very similar to Phillip, and it’s implied in the season finale that Belos is still alive through the sludge gloop thing and got to the human relam via Hunter’s back, then its very likely that they would team up in the human realm to destroy the BI and “save humanity from evil”.

The Hexsquad are also in the human realm, and they are undoubtedly going to do research on the Wittebanes to see how the Wittebros got to the Demon Realm in the first place so they can find a way back. This is certainly going to lead them to the Gravesfield Historical Society, where Jacob Hopkins works. And even though Luz doesn’t like and/or trust him for what he did to Vee, he obviously knows a lot on the subject, which could be very useful for their research. He might also be aware of his own ancestry, which would explain his obsession with them.

Cue Jacob and the Hexsquad piecing together how Hunter looks exactly like Caleb, the Hexsquad finding out Jacob is a descendant of the Wittebanes (a family of witch hunters), Jacob finding out that everyone in the Hexsquad is a witch (except for Luz), Belos is also probably there like a devil on Jacob’s shoulder or something, and conflict ensues for the Hexsquad in the human realm.

Anyway this is just my two cents on the matter, I am very excited to see how S3 will play out with the very little time they have to wrap up the story. What do ya’ll think? Feel free to add any other observations too!

Serious but also notso serious wishlist for "season 3" of Owl House:

>Boiling Isles and the rest of the cast better NOT actually be nuked. Like, we don't actually see any of em die directly just the world crumbling. And no, that alone isn't proof enough to us, the viewer, that everyone's dead it's just proof enough to the characters in that situation.

>Vee and Luz get time to bond. Luz be like 'if anything happens to my doppleganger sister I'm killing everyone in this room then myself'.

>The witch kids get to see a giraffe. They get to be dazzled by earth to thrill their spirits.

>Camilla has her hands full but the witch kids try to make themselves useful and not be a burden despite the fact that none of these characters have a choice.

>Luz's palisman hatches. Also the palismen better be alive and with the kids that would be the ultimate frack you.

>Philbelos' goo reforms but he comes back smoll. Maybe even his kid form. How embarrassing and ohhhh the awkward situation Hunter's now in when he realizes he can overpower his own abuser if he wants.

>Philbelos's world crumbles around him as he realizes Luz was right and humans like witches now and his home town has accepted the Witch-to-Kitsche-sploitation of Salem. Ppl come up to him in sexy witch-hunter outfits and he has a heart attack.

>I really want Philbelos to meet that historian guy from Yesterday's Lie and have him be like "don't talk about my brother who I murdered YOU DIDN'T KNOW HIM!!!"

>Proper Wittebro flashback just the way mama likes it!!!

>The witchkids and Luz discover Philbelos is there obv and try to make an uneasy alliance w him to know how to get the portal working again, only for Philbelos to reveal to them that he did NOT make the portal door. ++points if Luz accidentally reveals to him and her friends that King is(was?) a titan and so there's a chance of a new portal being started.

>Eda now gets to have a badass fake arm cool.

>Vee gets to stick it to Belos for creating and abusing her and HOW.

>So I remember this one promo image that said "TOH s2" but the images weren't from any of the episodes we've seen. Those images featured the interiors of the old cabin, a deer carcass, and I think an exterior of Camilla and Luz's house???? Really hoping the dead deer shot means Belos is still eating animals rather than real food what a freak.

Predictions and Questions for Hollow Mind:

Spoilers Ahead…

- Hunter and Luz are in for some basically horror movie stuff. I mean last time Luz went into someone’s mind she had to deal with a lot of memories and a fire monster, and that was a teenager she’s friends with. Going into Belos’ mind is going to be terrifying

- Poor Hunter. I just hope Darius, Raine, or Eda is there to help him after. Hopefully he will be able to leave the coven, but probably he won’t and will know more about his role in everything, which will destroy him

- Rebellion B plot! Are they the ones casting the spell to enter Belos’ mind, or is that someone else? Why is Raine using a different instrument in the promo pics? Why did they leave the castle? Hopefully we get a better insight into their plans. Also, will Hunter report them/Belos find out?

- Wittebro backstory! Also, I think the brother being a Clawthorne makes sense since Eda’s mom (name idk) knew about a human in the BI, which didn’t seem to be common knowledge.

- Luz connects the Gravesfield seal and the Golden Guard sigil. Figures out Belos is Phillip, and a bit of his plans, but not that much (for suspense)

-I am so scared for flapjack, because if he is with Hunter and Belos finds out ahhhhhhhhh. Also, name reveal? and he was Wittebro (Caleb?)’s palisman.

-What role does Eda have in this? Will she find out about Raine? Probably not, but I can hope…

-How do the sigils come into play? Because those things are terrifying. I think they have to give more info in those eventually, and idk if it will happen if this episode, but so hope it does. A history of them would be nice, especially since they seem relatively new.

I’m so excited for this episode, and so scared about what can happen. I’m sure most of these won’t happen, but I anted to write them out somewhere anyway. I need it to come out already.
