In honor of the 50th anniversary of the premier of Goncharov, I'm doing a rolling watch party! I'm just going to play the movie on loop until everyone gets tired of it or until the FCC tells me to knock it off.
What a difference 50 years makes juxtaposition of Audi Karmann Asso Di Picche, 1973 & Italdesign Asso di Picche in Movimento, 2023. Shown last year as a virtual concept, Italdesign has used this year's Milan Design Week to present their updated Asso di Picche as a fully operational prototype. This time using electric power with a body in aluminium and windows in polycarbonate. “Fifty years later, an automobile’s design continues to be the formal interpretation of the concept of movement.”, said Joaquin Garcia, Italdesign Head of Design.
For the 50th anniversary of A New Hope, Lucasfilm should get Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen together to recreate Obi-Wan and Vader's final duel (they'd be about the right ages, Obi-Wan and Vader are 57 and 41 in ANH and Ewan and Hayden will be 56 and 46 in 2027)
Like, they deserve to act out the "conclusion" of their characters (you could also film them meeting post mortem after Anakin's death in rotj), release it as a disney + special
50th anniversary special is SO funny for making the 10th doctor rock up with a horrendous hair style, beat the shit out of 11, imply he has a bigger dick, and steal his girl Infront of him
These are just some of the photos I wanted to share off of my TDSOTM 50th Anniversary book! I believe some of these were unseen by many Floydians and they blew my mind :’)
Fifty years ago on April 5, 1974 saw the publication of Stephen King's debut novel, Carrie! What do you think about this novel of a girl with a frightening power?
50 years on: Toyota F101 Concept, 1973. Presented 50 years ago at the 20th Tokyo Motor Show in October 1973. The F101 was billed as "the sedan of the future" with an asymmetric and longitudinally-hinged gull-wing-style boot.
Toshimichi Ohkawa (writer for lupin iii: sweet lost nights; Green vs Red; Part 3) and franchise vet Junichi Lioka had a secret pitch with TMS about a new lupin the third series set during the 1920s-1930s era America back in the early 90s.
LUPIN THE THIRD: ONCE UPON A TIME.
(Concept art and character design by Toshihiko Masuda)
The series was set during the years Babe Ruth and AL Capones fame were at their hight, Having the gang scheme up heists around new York while zenigata was set to track down lupin and his cohorts with the newly established F.B.I
Only 3 concept episodes were written
"The Miracle Of Bambino"
"The Man Who Killed Dillinger"
"Angel With Broken Wings" (which would have had lupin meet a female pilot who crashed during her transatlantic flight)
Sadly, the series never got the green light to go into production and remained a secret until today.
