30 Days, 30 Lines - Day 1
Finally had something I could use for this to start off. This is a WIP full basic outline for a Twine game I was planning for the Transformation game jam.
Basic concept: player wakes up as a plushie in the post nuclear apocalypse.
[Disclaimer: the transformation aspect of this is not a sex/fetish/etc thing]
Important plot points / things to know:

- When player awakens, the world is post nuclear apocalypse
- Stats:
Social
Mental
Physical
- Main side characters
Jane: leader, dog
Fish: subordinate, cat
CB: subordinate, bunny
Snowflake: loner, cat
- Goal is to leave house
- The player must prove self to Jane, learn about toy society, solve problems for the other toys, and accept new conditions.
- Room ideas

Room 2: find something; rescue someone; solve a puzzle/riddle
Room 3: fetch quest; defeat a threat; contest
Room 4: fix hazard; solve mystery

30 Days 30 Lines Challenge - Day 26
Back at the Lodge, Max stops outside the heavy wooden doors, hands shoved deep into his pockets. He looks out across the greenery, eyes on the looming MAST building, and sighs heavily, pushing his hand through his hair.
“Sarah knows, doesn’t she” he says, turning his attention back to Barrett, “about the Fleet?”
Barrett looks around, almost sheepish for the first time since Max met him. “Look,” he says, “I think you’re good people, Captain, and I think sometimes good people make bad decisions. Whatever your reasons are for joining up with the Fleet, they’re your reasons. I’m the last person who should be throwing stones. But I don’t think Sarah’s going to see it the same way I do so you better have a good explanation for her.”

CW: Pet whump, Medical
The trainer brought them to a white room after that and when the doctor came out to meet Clarence they recognized him immediately and the fear they felt earlier spiked into their chest. It was Doctor Reese, and he was known for being cruel.
Be good. They had to remind themself this as to not embarrass their Master. If she found out they had been bad she might give Clarence up and they would never see Mouse again. That wasn’t an option.

@writingonesdreams here’s the rest of that scene
He pushed himself away from the wall and reached for the door handle.
“Wait,” she said softly. “Will you stay with me? For a little while at least?”
She didn’t want to be alone but she also didn’t want to have to pretend like she was okay. She couldn’t hide her pain from him and in a way that made his presence comforting.
Under different circumstances he would have laughed. It hadn’t been that long since she had run from him in terror. He supposed it was the same for him. It hadn’t been that long since he’d done everything he could to avoid being around her. Now he found himself moving across the room.
He knew he should leave. He should send Lucan to sit with her. Instead he, moved the chair that was by her bed closer to the window and reached behind the curtain to raise the window pane. He leaned his head back and tried to focus on the cool, fresh air, instead of the way his head throbbed.
She let out a halfhearted chuckle and he looked at her in mild surprise.
“Sorry,” she said, leaning back against her mound of pillows wearily. A half smile stayed on her face. “The look on your face, it’s like you’d rather be stabbed again.”
He let out an annoyed snort and leaned his head back once more, though the corners of his own mouth turned up in a slight smile.
I am very normal about this scene.
For the Last Line Tag I’m tagging @the-finch-address @aalinaaaaaa @ettawritesnstudies plus Open Tag for anyone who wants it

60 days, 60 lines- Day 30
Previous
The pressure of the war, the increasing handle of doom settling over the galaxy- it’s anyone’s guess why the dead Guardsman turned to the Dark.
The consensus going around was that he had been driven to his breaking point, the Light choked right out of him. He had lost faith, and so had risen in one final act of sheer desperation. And now he's dead, and half of the Temple Guard is at the funeral of someone who'd just tried to slaughter some of his own.
By the murmurs among the crowd, Rakesh Brem isn't the only man that it doesn't sit right with.

I can’t swim.
The words seem to come from somewhere far away as he repeats them. Somewhere filled with sunlight and the laughter of children and warm arms ready to welcome him home at the end of the day.
Somewhere that, deep down, he knows he’ll never see again.
I can’t swim.
Keef takes a half-step forward, and then he is gone before he can finish the words forming on his lips, swept over the edge by the crowd.
I can’t swim.

30 days 30 lines #5
Skipped a day, cuz I didn't write anything yesterday. Today I was still editing the same chapter, but I did rewrite a goodly chunk of it. Shame it's mostly full of horrific things that would require a warning, and spoilery to boot. So have some aftermath lol.
"No, please. Please…" he begged. It was too much, he couldn't, he couldn't, he couldn't… but he was too weak to even raise his arms to hold Warren back.
The man rolled his eyes as he sat in the chair at the bedside and placed his hand on Serin's side. Warmth penetrated the icy cold of Serin's skin while green light spilled from the man's eyes. Serin swallowed the sobs building in his throat. A healer, this was a healer.
"Not who you thought I was, huh?" the man asked, his eyes slightly unfocused when they briefly met Serin's.
Tears of relief trickled down Serin's cheeks. "No."

30 Days 30 Lines Challenge: Day 7
Adhara finally realized why this place gave her the creeps
There was no hum of machines or electricity that filled the silences like at home.
There were no rumbling engines of cars or silent whirring of hoverboards flying by.
There wasn't even the sounds of life that had bombarded her on the surface of this odd planet.
It was just…silent.
And yet it was so loud.
She didn't know that silence could be this loud.

30 Days, 30 Lines - Day 3
Bet you thought I forgot this. I did not forget, my life just. Exploded.
Anyway, this excerpt is part of a answer to a ask game. The verse is 'It Makes A Home In Me' aka goopverse, which. Is a bit hard to summarize beyond 'test subject for a deminsional hopping experiment gets lucid and causes shenanigans'. Two characters from XCOM 2 are prominent, but this isn't actually fanfic...I think? I dunno, man.
Central is arguing with one of the white coats. It's hard to follow the conversation. Shen keeps looking at you. The scientists look at you, too.
Remnant of a passionate half shout reaches through: "--meant no harm!"
That doesn't feel true. The scientists are standing, moving, converging on the doorway. Hot panic in your blood. Phantom pricking of wires. The lukewarm sensation of the substance.
Someone grabs your hand. Let them lead you. Stumble over yourself.
Run.

“I would not do that if I were you,” Andreja says. She’s standing in front of the armillary, arms crossed over her chest, flanked by a horde of armed Va’ruun zealots.

From WARRIOR:
General Cyrus shifted on the bed in front of Eleni’s chair, his body sinking into the lush mattress. His normally craggy face smoothed itself as she pressed her palm to his eyes, and she caressed his hair and murmured down into his loosening expression, her new finery clinking with every movement. She didn’t have to do anything more than pour relaxation into his thoughts—he’d had so many appointments with her by now that she could turn him to jelly with a brush of her finger—but she liked the little flourishes. They gave her pleasant memories of her training with Margot.
And less pleasant ones of that old Za-Rikk-Se woman, Korr-ga, but she ignored those and simply redoubled her focus.
General Cyrus might’ve liked the flourishes too, but he wasn’t in a state to show it. He couldn’t do anything now but lay in the darkness of the Pather quarters, listening to her, surrounded by reaching plants and the Lan-Tuu jewels Eleni had acquired recently.
For a Last Line, I'll tag: @little-boats-on-a-lake @drowsy-quill @pesto-patrol @bamboozled-boi @wikdsushi-v2 @sargeantsarmy @elycwinters
And for a Heads Up 7 Up, I'll tag: @think-through-pen @distilled-prose @echoing-sailor @aalinaaaaaa @maybelovesamystery @tearitalk @clusterfuckhuman

“Oh Ghost, a clan war? You always did think too small?”
Nix was surprised by how close Kaori was, her voice right in his ear. He hadn’t realized she’d stood up behind him. Before he could turn around, he felt the hot pain bite into his side. He pulled away from her too late. She smiled at him pityingly, a long knife in one hand, red with his blood.
“There are much bigger things happening than just some silly clan war,” she continued. “I’m sorry it had to turn out like this Ghost, but the Military is ready to make their move and I can’t have you getting in the way.”

“Vanth, you dog, you’re alive!”
Cobb whips around to raise a hand in dejection of a pair of spread arms. It doesn't take him more than a moment to recognize the Mythrol coming at him- because, really, it’s a wonder there’s any on Tatooine.
"Whoa, there. Keep to yourself, Vitzen." He taps the holster at his hip. "It's good to see you, too."
Vitzen takes the warning to heart and backs off, arms falling back to his sides. No doubt he remembers their first encounter, where he and six other thugs had tried to mug Cobb. The others had all been shot dead on the spot for it. The man before him has learned since then, it seems, his smile ruefully subdued.
"Shot by one of the biggest bad in the galaxy, an' you haven't changed a bit.” He huffs abashedly. “Should've known. Unkillable son of a gun."
The smile that Cobb forces in return doesn’t reach his eyes, but he doesn’t intend it to.
