"At the time when the Second Amendment was written, they only had slow-firing muskets!"
Yes. That is true. Nevermind the various early firearms that allowed large volume fire, they were also trying to find all manner of different ways to streamline the reloading process for the individual militia-man. To find ways to get a quicker and quicker second shot.
Case in point: the pre-packaged cartridge packs. Complete with a preset amount of powder, and appropriate-sized ball of lead. The paper itself being used as a wad to help propel the aforementioned ball of lead. A complete single shot in one palm-sized package.
It's a lot more streamlined than trying to measure the exact amount from a singular pouch of powder.
Not to mention the military doctrine of the time required constant training to be able to load and re-load their "slow firing" muskets as fast as possible. Usually to be ready to fire in a minute's notice. Hence the term "Minutemen".
If somehow 18th century firearms designers saw the capabilities of modern military arms, they wouldn't be terrified. They'd be salivating. John Hancock probably would've bought 13.
Too often people will sneer at the level of technology of 18th century societies, believing the people of the time were a bunch of doodles who believed putting feathers on their caps made them macaroni. But remember that there indeed were absolute geniuses during the 18th century.
It's much like how there's a Victorian-era misconception that the 15th century was full of backwards peasants when said time period was full of technological innovation.
So please, if you're going to make the "Second Amendment only applies to muskets!" argument, at least learn about the surrounding circumstances before you do.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go rock out.

This doodle took way too long for something that looks incredibly rushed.
Roof Koreans, re-imagined.

My thoughts on the LA Riots of '92:
April 29, 1992. Sa-I-Gu. LA Riots of '92. The day racial tensions between the African American and Korean American communities within Los Angeles reached a tipping point. Many lives lost, many homes and businesses razed to the ground.
All in response to the undue cruelty experienced by Rodney King in the hands of a corrupt police department.
Many Korean-Americans lost their livelihoods, and even lives. But some chose to take up arms, for they saw they could not depend on the incredibly corrupt LAPD any longer.
Some may condemn the actions of the ones being called "Roof Koreans", deeming their actions anywhere between "callous" and (for some reason) racist.
I personally see their actions as, at worst, still very understandable. After all, many of them were at most vaguely aware of much of the surrounding events.

If someday man-portable effective laser rifles become reality, politicians will somehow try to regulate laser pointers.
Yeah, those dinky little lasers used primarily to troll cats.
And people here would celebrate it.
