I see a lot of confessions about shipping here, so I'd like to weigh in a few things of my own experience over the years:
If you're in your 30s in the RPC as a mun you need to consider carefully who you allow to ship with you if they're younger. Generally if you have a decade or more on the other mun, then you need to accept you're the one who needs to be the responsible adult here in how you interact in and out of character with the younger mun. I mean this as a general rule of being more mindful and considering mistakes you likely made when you were their age in the RPC to watch for.
You're also the one who needs to be more attentive of doing your due diligence of background checking on younger muns OC creation process where you can. Don't just read the bio, ask questions about what inspired them to make the OC, engage in asking them about headcanons and the like. I say this because I have encountered younger muns having obvious and covert self insert OC's too many times. Certainly anyone can be guilty of making a self insert but I have noticed a pattern of the muns who are under 26 being more frequent in having them, as well as having too tailored of backstories at times to ship specifically with a canon character you might be writing.
Equally you also shouldn't let the younger mun think they can curry favour with you through a talent for blog graphics or art. No matter how nice the media you can receive from them is, you should make clear that they can't buy what they want from you with such things. You're letting them learn they can bribe someone older to get what they want, and they will start to use that tactic with others. It will also tend to blind you to any warning signs the younger mun might have in their writing and general conduct. If you're only looking at the art you might not notice the younger mun openly confessing to things you might not be okay with having them use you for.
These things aren't something I see many older muns consider or focus on when they have around a decade on the younger mun, and they're things I feel are important.

this is so annoying ; as if i want to know more about you bore of a bunch. anyways, i suppose i'm here to announce something called a meme weekend. such a cringe-fest of a name, but whatever, apparently nothing i put on the table is good enough for the admins. alas, we are stuck with this potential snooze fest. the rules for this stupid thing is under the cut; follow them or i'll make sure the next tabloids aren't as nice as they have been.
rules / information :
memes will be accepted from friday, february 23 - sunday, february 26 starting at 12pm est / 6pm cet. (admins will make sure to make an annoucement on the main or via discord at this time).
please only reblog three memes; it is highly encouraged for these to be headcanon based / truth serum types to keep the gossip blog interactive, but we will also accept sentence starters.

Rules
Thank you for taking the time to read my rules! This is a bit long, but I will do my best to highlight the important parts!
These are stated in no order of importance
1 - While having canon as a baseline is important, I do incorporate headcanons in my portrayal. My list of headcanons can be found through my "About Muse" link on the tagged post of my blog. My headcanons are mine and mine alone- so please don't think a certain way of Lyney due to my personal writing.
2 - I only write with mutuals- if you follow me, I will check out your blog asap! If you send me DMs/Asks in a malicious way to try and force me to write with you, I will block you. (This sounds scary but trust me, I am super laid back! If I don't follow you back right away, please don't take it as a no! I sometimes just need to see your writing/posting style to see if we are compatible!)
2.5 - Anons are perfectly fine! I just will not turn a series of anons into a roleplay. I will answer questions (example: Lyney what are you doing?) but when you start adding things like "I baked you a cake!" who is "I"? Those are roleplays. When you want Lyney to interact with you as a character- it needs to be off anon. A one-time warning will be given but past that, I will block if it goes uncorrected.
2.6 - Sending letters/notes are also fine, but do not expect anything past a one-time response. Commenting on threads is also okay (Example: "Oh I don't think he is coming back")
3 - I do write with OCs so feel free to follow me if you write those! Please understand that if I do not follow back, it isn't because your character is awful or anything, I just may not know how to interact! I ask that you please have a About Page for your muse!
4 - I am from *old tumblr days*, so I apologize if I am slow with the new formatting systems.
5 - If I follow/interact with you, and you don't like that- please block me. I will take no offense over it.
6 - Lyney has an extremely tragic backstory- and I do write rps regarding that. Thus, if you are under 18, I am not comfortable writing with you. I have siblings that are minors and it feels weird because all I can think about is writing with my younger siblings.
7 - NSFW content will be on this blog, but it will be deleted at will. I do not normally typically enjoy writing such content but if I am feeling up for it, I will dabble in it. If you are only here to send me NSFW asks- be prepared to never have those answered or to only have me answer them once in a blue moon.
7.5 - Even if it does get brought up, it will never become graphic. "Heavy Petting" is as far as it will ever go. Again, if you are looking to write with a Lyney blog that will do NSFW 24/7. This isn't the blog you're looking for.
8 - You may notice that all my replies are "under the cut" except for some asks and a rare reply here or there. This is a personal preference and not because my content is filled with anything unviewable. I just want people who do want to see my writing to have to well, click to read. Any triggers/warnings will be thrown at the bottom of the post so you can decide if you want to read it or not!

i don't really remember because it's been four years and i have the memory of a goldfish. probably just because he's my type. i do have a type that i gravitate towards writing.

hurt no comfort. i don't read it on ao3 either. i'm also rly picky about smut and who i write it with. i only like writing it with friends / longterm rp partners.

hurt/comfort is my favorite. Obi-Wan Gets a Hug. also soft stuff, sleepy stuff. and bc love mentioned this when she tagged me, i really like having like a plotted universe w/ someone. i had a friend i had an EXTENSIVE modern au with and we were both writing all kinds of characters and it was the best time ever. they're not on tumblr anymore </3 but i love that stuff

what made you pick up the muse you have? you mean muses lmao. honestly i pick ones that i personally enjoy or resonate with in some way. for the most part i have to actually like them in order to write them, so any character i have on my muse list i like at the very least.
is there anything you don’t like to write? not particularly? i find it difficult sometimes to do action based replies, but it doesn't mean i don't like to write it. just is a little more difficult.
is there anything you really enjoy writing? threads that are fluffy with a hint of angst are a fave.
how do you come up with your headcanons? i just do i guess? i don't really have a process, it usually comes up either while writing or when watching something i'm like "actually my muse would feel like this instead" kind of thing if that makes sense?

what’s your alias/name? stephanie! but i also go by steph or stephy. my nieces and nephews call me stephy, that all started when my first niece couldn't pronounce my name properly and called me "snephy" and then i wanted to replicate that when my second niece came along, but she was able to pronounce the "t" so stephy became a staple in my life.

“Mun-Directed Questions About Roleplaying!”
If you had to change your character’s FC for one day, who would you pick?
(Oh, wow, uhm. I honestly never thought about a faceclaim for Nil-Rae until coming to Tumblr. She'd always just been sort of nebulous in my head as far as exact looks went other than a few key features. Bridget Regan as Kahlan just happened to work perfectly because there's a bunch of scenes of her being, effectively/visually, possessed by a dark force and the GIF I use for my pinned post basically cinched her as my choice. I could not think of a single person as an alternative.)
3. What’s something you like about how you write?
(Implying I like my writing. Uhhh, my dialogue, I guess? I also feel like I write children better than a lot of authors if only because I've actually had them? In books I've read, I've seen huge disparities between a written-child's age and their behaviors, mannerisms, etc, and I think it's because the author never interacted with actual kids at those ages to know. No one here, mind you. Just my impressions from other sources.)
5. What’s something about your character that you’d like if you had to spend time with them?
(Nil-Rae is infinitely patient in her primary verse and she doesn't judge based on physical impressions and as someone who's been judged by her appearance for quite a bit of her life, I think I would like that about her quite a bit.)
9. What’s a difference you have with your character?
(Oh, gosh, there's plenty. Our relationships with our two parents are vastly different, which I think is the biggest difference between us. There's a lot of, like, superficial things but that's the biggest, most obvious difference.)
24. What’s your favorite AU?
(*cough* Pokemon <_<;; No, but in all seriousness, uhhhh, anything that relies on a musical verse or a modern-era fae-centric verse. I don't do a lot of AU's (I'm not terribly creative at them) so this one's a little hard but those seem the most fun!)
26. What’s a ship you really like rping?
(I am hugely problematic and have a thing for toxic ships. It's why my husband started writing, like, 4 of his muses. There, I said it.
(For what it's worth, I try to keep my dark romance habit off main and hidden somewhere that it won't affect or be seen by others because I recognize it for what it is. But anything really angsty (without necessarily being strictly triggering because some things are too much for me) and toxic is right up my alley.)

☀┋ Elodie Deals [she/her] is a mutant! A red-eyed crocodile skink if you want to get into specifics. She is fifteen years old in the post-movie, default timeline! [Thirteen when she meets the ROTTMNT cast!]
☀┋ She’s an odd duck who has spent most of her life under her rock… well- in the staff room of the Hot-Deals Auto Body Repair Shop. 99% of what she knows about the world is based on teen sitcoms and coming of age movies.
☀┋ Almost all of her hobbies are in some way connected to building and/or fixing things! Growing up in a garage has, obviously, been pretty formative for Elodie and it has shaped her interests.
☀┋ For a mutated teen that’s just five foot… Elodie is freakishly strong. She can bend metal tools with her bare hands when distracted or stressed. Impressive as that is, the drawback appears to be a metabolism that is intensely demanding of her body. She gets hypoglycemic quickly and passes out more often than she likes to admit- especially when she overexerts herself.
☀┋ Her origins are pretty mysterious! The garage staff found her in the alleyway as an infant with no idea where she came from.
☀┋ Overall, she’s a happy kid who likes to help people!
