“Mhmm. Nope. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the word ‘consider’ fall from those gorgeous lips before now,” he teases. “But jokes aside… Tell me you’ll come with me, I hate those fucking things, they’re only fun if you’re swooning over how handsome I am in a suit sitting next to me.”

Chrissy’s and Corroded Coffin’s Timeline
17 year old Chrissy Cunningham records, and later releases, an EP by the title of Brutal with five songs in February. (Including a cover of Mr. Brightside, which Chrissy insists on not changing the pronouns.) Each song is distinct and it’s clear she’s experimenting with how she wants to sounds. It doesn’t take long for the EP to pick up and the titular song is played on the radio for the first time just five days after the release. At the time of this release, Chrissy has been dating Jason for a year despite their ups and downs.
After much debate and convincing from her mother, Chrissy is signed to Creel Records on the 21st of that March. She is quickly pushed to search her notebooks to start writing and releasing a few singles, including Message In A Bottle and Crush, within a matter of months. Despite still being underage, she uses her money to by herself an apartment and quickly moves out of her parents’ house. She refuses to answer any questions asked at that time.
Corroded Coffin, having released covers in the past, finally drops a self titled EP of 6 songs the day after April Fools. When asked if the release date had any meaning, front man Eddie Munson says he lost a bet with his friend to release the EP on the holiday of jokesters but compromised for the day after. The band say most of the songs they’ve written are completely unrelated to their lives, though She’s Kinda Hot was loosely written about Eddie Munson’s ex-girlfriend, aspiring country singer Tammy Thompson. When reached out for a comment, Tammy did not respond.
Six days after her 18th birthday in June, Chrissy releases her first full album under a record label. Blondes consists of 10 songs, half of them with sapphic tones as well as topics like insecurities and suicide. Not everyone was surprised to find out Chrissy is bisexual though, as there were a number of fans who caught onto before the drop considering she posted three separate photos prior with emojis of the bisexual flag color on each post. This begins a precedent of her leaving hints to new releases and projects. Chrissy said in an interview that most of the sapphic song were completely fictional, but some of them were written based on what she’s experienced. She also said her experiences happened during one of the many break ups her and her basketball boyfriend have had.
Fast forward to September and Corroded Coffin has released a second EP, Nicotine. Once again they say their music isn’t personal, finding more inspiration in made up stories. Still, fans have speculated that a few songs have something to do with Eddie and Tammy being seen together a few times after their break up. The lead of the band reiterates that they don’t release any songs within a certain time of personal happens and they don’t write songs then release them immediately. “A lot of times our songs have been written months in advance. B Team was written a few months ago, Nicotine a year ago, so on and so forth, ya’know?”
Shortly after Blondes and interviews of the album release, Chrissy goes through a messy break up with her long time boyfriend and high school sweetheart. After how public Jason was about their breakup, Chrissy goes steps out of the spotlight for almost a year. It isn’t until an upcoming award ceremony that anyone outside her close circle hears anything from her.

Paris also gave me a Haylor vibe. Cheap wine referenced in both Maroon and Changes by Cam that Harry wrote. "Drew a map on your bedroom ceiling" as in "We would stay in my house for days" from Hunger. "No, I didn't see the news" and "We don't really like what's on the news, but it's on all the time" from LOML. "Stumbled down pretend alleys" is giving me "Dancin' in your Levi's, drunk under a streetlight" vibes from Cardigan. The entirety of the second verse sounds like a relationship that was heavily scrutinized by the media and people, and her relationship with Joe was not. "Let the only flashing lights be the tower at midnight" their late night arrivals at Taylor's hotel in NYC with all the paparazzi taking pictures, New Year's Eve at midnight and all the people trying to take pictures of them too.

Here’s the thing I find with a number of her songs: there is a clear surface narrative (or clear-ish one), and then there’s the possibility of other tidbits or messages. A bunch of songs on Rep (like Dress) fall into this for me - there was no fancy-dress award sneaking with YB so it being all about him is off, but the bridge was added to make it “about him”.
This one, Glitch, and Labryinth fall into the “love songs that appear at first to be about YB but…maybe not/only partially?” category.
Of the three, though, I feel like this one is the *least* likely to be about HS, particularly because the intro bit seemingly shades him (or can be interpreted as such). I had to listen three or four times the morning of October 21st and I am still not sure - who is the “ex-friend’s sister” and “wannabe Z lister” ex supposed to be about?
To me: it seems like the early, heady time she’s written about before (and on this album, with Lavender Haze and Glitch). She wants to keep it secret for as long as possible (she’s been burned before) and the use of levitate reminds me of “high above the whole scene”.
As I have mentioned many times, she rarely writes about any other times with YB - hand touch of April 29th, then the Delicate hookup and early, heady days, then some early struggles/desire to stay peaceful (in peace 🤮 / SN). As such, I do think this is a YB song.
That said: we now have YLM and I bet we’ll hear more in the months and years to come. And I am fully open to reassessing analysis based on subsequent info.

I am going to talk a little bit about Kelly in this mess
The Piquets had a mixed race lady that looked after them growing up and they saw her as a second grandmother/mother. She is the lady in the photo. She called them neguinho's as a term of endearment when they were growing up
Neguinho is a word that translates to "little back kid" with a wider meaning of "my buddy", "my darling"
For all of their lives the Piquets have had a positive connotation associated with that word. And this term spoken that way is viewed as a non racial term in that context in Brazil
Nelson however used that word in a completely racist manner when talking about Lewis which has thrown the whole family into the mess and Kelly is very misguided for liking a post that was very ignorant of Piquet Snr's actions
She should be thinking of Lewis and not of her family
Her Dad is the one that brought this on them
As for titling a hip hop playlist "Black" with a purple horn emoji, is that racist? They are all black rappers that she likes to listen to and she fancies, as per the purple horn emoji. She was being playful with the emoji. It wasn't meant to be serious. She didnt think it was wrong to title it that as she doesn't see the word black as being bad or having bad connotations
This cycles back again to Neguinho, little black kid, black. All of those words have positive connotations in her mind.
Why did she change it? Because people were calling her racist for having that title
Its a very fine line people are walking right now in that regard
Should the word "black" have bad connotations in the 21st century? No
So why is a playlist with all black rappers and labelled black be seen as bad?
Is it right to be classified or titled on the basis of colour of your skin? I would think that the answer to that is no as Martin Luther KIng said "Judge me on the content of my character, not the colour of my skin"
But we have Black history month, Black Music Awards (BET), Black excellence etc
All positive, All good connotations promoted by the community
How can you then turn around and say that titling a hip hop playlist with black rappers black is then bad when the context is she likes all the rappers and all the songs?

'The 2024 Academy Awards could present an opportunity for Robert Downey Jr. to ironically avenge his notable Oscar loss to a Christopher Nolan film...
Robert Downey Jr.'s next and most recent film, Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, has placed him in serious contention at the upcoming Oscars on March 10, 2024. Although RBJ arguably deserved an Oscar nomination for the sheer impact that his Tony Stark/Iron Man character has on the international film market ever since the MCU was born with Jon Favreau's 2008 Iron Man, he was never considered for that part. With an acting career spanning more than five decades, Downey Jr. has received a total of two Oscar nominations including Best Actor in Chaplin (1992) and Best Supporting Actor in Tropic Thunder (2008).
Although Robert Downey Jr. was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 2009, he lost to Health Ledger's phenomenal performance as the Joker in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. Ledger's Joker remains one of the most celebrated portrayals by any cinematic actor in the 21st century and even can be considered one of the best performances in film history, making it completely understandable how stiff the competition was that year for Downey Jr...
Considering Robert Downey Jr's effect on Hollywood and the international world of entertainment, it would be fitting for him to receive an Oscar even if it wasn't necessarily for the role he is most famous for. His portrayal as the slimy and self-interested Lewis Strauss in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer elevated him to the top of the leader board in most likely 2024 Oscar winners for Best Supporting Actor. It's ironic how the very director who helped inspire Heath Ledger's legendary Oscar win has now guided Downey Jr. back into a place of contention after fifteen years, which is also a testament to Nolan's mastery of his craft.
With the outstanding performance by Robert De Niro in Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon, it's safe to say at this point that the race for the 2024 Oscar for Best Supporting Actor is between him and Robert Downey Jr for Oppenheimer. De Niro, in his tenth feature film collaboration with Scorsese, portrays the sinister and greedy William Hale in the 3 and a half hour epic movie. Early betting odds on the Oscars race place De Niro slightly ahead of Downey Jr. at this time by a very slight margin, although both actors are essentially neck in neck, making both of the remarkable actors heavy favorites.

Today, BET announces “BET Awards” 2023nominees, with Drake leading the nominations, scoring seven. This year’s nominees reflect abundant creative expression and Black excellence across music, television, film, and sports. “BET Awards” 2023 will air LIVE on BET on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 8 PM ET/ 5 PM PT. Culture’s Biggest Night will celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop throughout the LIVE telecast on BET. “BET Awards”2023 nominations were selected by the BET Voting Academy, comprised of an esteemed group of entertainment professionals and influencers in music, media, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, and creative arts.
Drake claims the top spot at “BET Awards” 2023with seven nominations. Drake’s nominations include ‘Best Male Hip Hop Artist,’ ‘Best Male R&B/Pop Artist,’ ‘Best Group’ with 21 Savage, ‘Best Collaboration’ with Future and Tems (“Wait for U”),‘Album of the Year,’ for Her Loss with 21 Savage, and ‘Viewer’s Choice Award,’ for Jimmy Cook with 21 Savage, and his feature on Wait For You with Futureand Tems.
In October of last year, GloRillawas named a BET Amplified Artist. She gave an electrifying performance at the “BET Hip Hop Awards,” where she won Best Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist of the Year. Today, Gloria Hallelujah Woods, known professionally as GloRilla, has six nominations, including ‘Best Female Hip Hop Artist,’ ‘Best New Artist,’ ‘Album of the Year’ for Anyways, Life’s Great,‘Video Of The Year’ for Tomorrow 2 with Cardi B, and ‘Best Collaboration’ for her features with HItkidd(“F.N.F. 21 Savage and Lizzo earned the third-highest number of nods, with five nominations each. Beyoncé, Burna Boy, Chris Brown, Ice Spice, and SZA follow with four nominations each. Cardi B, Coco Jones, FLO, Future, Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, Maverick City Music & Kirk Franklin, and Tems are tied with three nominations each.
Culture’s biggest night, “BET Awards,” has been the #1 cable award show among all adults 18-49 for the last two consecutive years and is the #1 cable award show among Black adults 18-49 for the 21st consecutive year (CY02-CY22). “BET Awards” is the ultimate platform to showcase the best, brightest, and most beautiful aspects of the Black experience – honoring the present and future of Black music, creativity, and sportsmanship, by celebrating the culture and being a driving force for social change.

Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Ricky Dillard, William Murphy III & More At ‘I Hear Music Concert’
The annual I Hear Music in the Air Conference is in its 21st year. This year’s concert theme is “A Night of Healing” and it will be held on Saturday, October 8th, 2022, at the Duke Energy Convention Center (525 Elm St. Cincinnati OH 45202). The evening aims to connect all under the umbrella of music and address the issues that directly impact the local city community including homelessness, poverty, and food insecurity.
The annual I Hear Music Concert returns this year with a star-studded lineup. Grammy Award winner Tasha Cobbs Leonard will headline this year’s concert and will be joined by William Murphy III, Ricky Dillard, E Dewey Smith and more. BET ‘Sunday Best’ winner Keyla Richardson will open the evening concert. Joining the pre-show will be Rameco Lattimore & TWC, Loretta Merritt, and Lenasia Tyson. Themed “A Night of Healing” the concert should serve as an inspirational vehicle that brings attendees and community leaders together. A reception is planned prior to the event to bring community leaders together. Informational resources will be provided that night so that attendees can be armed with the resources needed to have healthy lives.

When The Sun Goes Down at Leeds Festival

The atmosphere at Leeds Festival certainly didn’t change when the sun went down and Arctic Monkeys were due to hit the stage. Despite the weather change from glorious sun to a cold evening, there was still a sea of bucket hats to be seen. Over the bank holiday weekend of the 27th and 28th August, Arctic Monkeys headlined Reading and Leeds Festival, just ahead of their new upcoming album, ’The Car’ which is hitting stores on October 21st.
The Sheffield based band were welcomed back to their county of Yorkshire, with plenty of fan signs confessing their love to the lead singer, Alex Turner. The band came on stage and the bass hit for Do I Wanna Know from their 2013 Album, AM. The crowd was loud and electric for Arctic Monkeys return since their last UK tour in 2018. Brianstorm created a huge sing-a-long of “duh duh duh” and so did other songs played from their 2007 album, Favourite Worst Nightmare. The band then decided to slow things down and played Do Me a Favour, Cornerstone and a new unreleased track from their upcoming album ‘I aint quite where I am’ yet’ gave fans a taster for their new album which Alex Turner has said the boys “have come back down to earth” after their last album Tranquillity Base Hotel and Casino (2018).
The High Green band then picked back up the pace with songs from their first album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not (2006). From the Ritz to the Rubble was played and followed by their 2006 NME Award for best track, ‘I Bet You Look Good On the Dancefloor’. The sold out crowd danced like it was 2006, until the guitar faded out and Arctic Monkeys were due to play their last song, 505. The crowd crumbled and certainly there was tears to be seen. Turner conveyed the emotion of the song until the band went off stage. As soon as their presence descended, the crowd was eager for more and began chanting ‘one more song’ and soon enough, the Arctic Monkeys were back to play not one, not two, but three encore’s! Turner greeted the crowd with his Yorkshire shout of “LEEEDS” and played One Point Perspective, Arabella and R U Mine? Once the band had finished their set, the crowd was chanting “Mardy Bum’, a hit from their first album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, but were met with a heavy disappointment that the band had finished, leaving fans eager for a UK tour for ‘The Car’, released in October.
