And now to answer the age-old question. Who is @link-is-a-dork cosplaying for the 2022 Renaissance Festival?

It's...
MOZA!
An NPC who's a really bad cook. You can find her at the Ishto Sho shrine (in BotW), on the edge of the Wasteland and Lake Tower regions. The area she's found in is shaped like a frying pan and there's garbage EVERYWHERE, symbolizing Moza's "trash cooking".
@link-is-a-dork chose this character because she wanted to dress up as an NPC, so we looked around for potentials, going by hairstyle and hair color, and we landed on Moza, who she was considering even before the search. The reason?
She wanted the novelty of carrying a bigass spoon.
And yes. A lot of people did think she was Link, but it was fun to talk about Moza when clearing it up!
Here's my Zelda, first being shy, then making sure she's in the right place (actually, the photo with the cloak was taken when we got there and I took it off later; the second photo was taken as we were leaving 😅)
Now I'm doing a little "field work". The best thing about this photo is that there was actually a little frog nearby! But we didn't notice until after the photo was taken. And the frog was in the water. And it's probably best that I didn't try to touch it.
Now we have a nice photo of us two sisters, Hyrule's princess and an NPC who insists she can cook. 💛
I felt that I should do at least a LITTLE archery, so we gave that a shot. She had to show me how because I haven't held a bow in years. I managed to get a bullseye!
Not on the target I was aiming for but I got one 🙂
Uh oh, looks like Zelda insulted Moza's cooking. Although if Age of Calamity is anything to go by, Zelda's not a very good cook either 😆

ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ᴍᴇ ɪɴ ᴛʜɪꜱ ᴅʀ: my name is tara smith, but i'm known as 'azrael'. in 2016 with my friends, kitty and jj formed a band we called 'utopia' and we started on youtube and soundcloud by doing covers, and when we got more popular, we made our first original song. it was called "SOS" (yup it's this one from ABBA but let's pretend yk) and it went viral on soundcloud and very popular on youtube. we got recognision, and it opened the door to music industry.
ᴍʏ ꜰʀɪᴇɴᴅꜱ ɪɴ ᴛʜɪꜱ ᴅʀ: kitty (lily buckley), jj (jack hart), billie eilish, willow smith, conan grey, harry styles and a lot of more!

ᴅɪꜱᴄᴏɢʀᴀᴘʜʏ: we debuted with an ep called "CANNIBAL" as we watched "the show"Hannibal" while writing and it was a huge inspo for this ep. it was also a success, we went on small tour in venues. first in america, then in europe.
⍣ ೋ we went super popular after we released our first single from our first album called "LOST IN OUR PAST" (2019). it was a huge success. album was full of 70s beats, vocals, etc. we were nominated for multiple awards and won all of them. we became one of the most successful artist of the year, and later even in decade. Our tour sold out in few minutes, and so that's how we did our first world tour. we performed at grammys, the biggest festivals like coachella etc. we won grammys for best album, best group, best group performance, best single & song of the year. we weren't ready for this kind of success, critics after all called this album a "renaissance of 70s music" we became pioneers of group music then, we mixed modern pop, 70s & 80s. we did covers of old songs, and on our tour performed with multiple artists, like tears for fears, fleetwood mac (which was crazy!!!!). at the time me and kitty got together.
⍣ ೋ after the success, we had multiple fights in the band, but we were still making music together. I started to make solo music, but only for fun. we got to work with conan grey, and we made a song "killing me" (yupp also this one but let's pretend!!!) in 2021 our bands needed to split up, as jj decided to left.
⍣ ೋ it was a huge case, fans protested, wanted to know what happened, but we decided to stay quiet. everything was clear, jj wanted something else from life. he started to work as a "ghost writer"
⍣ ೋ after band has split up, i called my managment that i want to release solo music. i didn't want to give up on music because of this situation. week after official announcement from band, i posted info about my first single of my solo album "GLOBAL DRUGS"
it was a huge success, i didn't think that i would go on world tour and sing in stadiums again. i brought kitty with me.

⍣ ೋ in december 2022 after i finished tour and came back to u.s., my agent called me that he wants to meet me and kitty. we met 2 days later in new york, in a studio we recorded first ep as "utopia". when we came in, first thing we saw was jj talking to some people in the studio. well, we were so back.
⍣ ೋ in march 2023 out of nowhere we dropped our second album called "WE ARE STILL HERE" and people went CRAZYYY. we had no idea how this album is gonna shake the whole internet and critics. it was completely new - it was jazz, 70s, soul, r&b. something that people claimed we didn't fit. but here we are :)))
⍣ ೋ in may 2023 i attended my first ever met gala, and there, in an interview i confirmed that this was the last project of ‘utopia’ for now. i said “we disappeared out of nowhere and left you all without any information. this is something like a goodbye, but we do not confirm that it will last forever. it depends on our feelings.” i also confirmed that i will release music as solo artist and that kitty will join me as a drummer
⍣ ೋ in may 2023 a week after met gala, i showed the world my summer tour, and except the festivals of course, there were 4 stadium concerts, “bonus” ones, only in europe. Paris, Barcelona, Berlin and final one in London. that’s the time when me and kitty broke up, after, as media called it “London accident”. (there will be another post about it, but basically kitty got herself into alcohol and drugs, and during the London show for almost 2 hours we couldn’t find her, and when my team finally found her, she was completely not contacting with the world around her, and it was not the first time.she couldn’t perform and i didn’t want to cancel the show)
⍣ ೋ in september 2023 i started dating harry styles, but only to january 2024 - we realised that we would love be each other besties than lovers 🤭 (bc in this dr he is a little younger and one direction split up later than in cr, his album “Fine Line” was released in 2024, and “Harry’s House” in late 2025)
⍣ ೋ in january 2024 i confirmed my second solo album, that will release 15/03 🫶
⍣ ೋ after release of this album, me and billie were spotted in public, spreading dating rumours, which we confirmed some months later

Getting back to the music
This weekend I stepped out of the BTS bubble partly due to work pressures but also partly by choice. I have a long and varied past, fangirling over fictional characters, but discovering BTS has probably been my first experience of parasocial interactions with real people and to be honest it shocked me to find out how invested you can become in the life of someone you have never met, living more than 5000 miles away.
There has been a lot of shit going down lately both inside and outside the fandom and it's been taking all the fun out of being here. So I've been asking myself why did I start this blog, why am I still here and what are the things that I can and want to do with it?
First and foremost, I am here for the music. I commented before on BTS's role in my musical listening renaissance. Discovering them was part of that, yes, but with them I also discovered multiple generations of Korean and other global artists.
So this weekend I've been concentrating on the music.
Listening to FACE listening to D-Day and putting together playlists that showcase these two talented guys but also other Korean and Japanese artists with a reminder that musical success isn't all about the numbers.
It's about making that connection with your audience. It's about having one of your songs make it to their forever playlist. It's about having another song make them smile as they sit drinking their latte at the coffee shop after a long bike ride.
We are used to big numbers as ARMY but there are plenty of really talented artists on Spotify that could never dream of the sales or the streaming that is being achieved for members of BTS.
Our guys are doing fine. They are in the privileged position of being able to do what they love and now, in the solo era, being able to explore their own interests and demonstrate their individuality through the music they produce.

Through their musical collaborations and Instagram recommendations they also throw a light on other talented South Korean artists with their own trajectory and extensive musical back catalogue to be explored.

Balming Tiger, So Yoon, Woosung and The Rose and Silica Gel just to mention a few I've encountered over the last couple of years thanks to different members of BTS.

And the BTS influence doesn't stop at the South Korean border. Also this weekend, I have been listening to Samara Joy, the American jazz singer that V posted on Instagram. She has an incredible voice. Today I booked tickets to see her at the London Jazz Festival in November.
Finally, it's already the 24th April in South Korea and time to celebrate one year of the release of With You by Jimin and Ha Sung Woon. This was my number one Spotify tune of 2022 and still has pride of place on many of my playlists.

welcome post: craft daddy designs says helloooo
Greetings and Salutations, I’m Lillian and welcome to my blortfolio (more than a portfolio, but not quite a whole-ass blog)! I am a costume and custom clothing designer based in Baltimore. Though my education is in statistics, I do just as well on a sewing machine as I do coding. I am mostly self-taught when it comes to tailoring and sewing techniques, but I have been sewing since I was in elementary school. I took a long break away from costume making from 2016-2022, focusing on finishing my education (just got my M.S. in 2022)!
I have entered the costuming world once again and am having a lot of fun recreating costumes and designing custom outfits for myself and others. I am mostly interested in creating unique, custom couture looks for folks who wish to stand out (renaissance fair costumes, fae ballgowns, cosplays, unique festival looks, one-of-a-kind dancewear, etc.). I also would love to work more on helping queer/LGBT/gender-nonconforming/disabled folks (or anyone who has specialized needs) obtain clothing that fits those unique requirements.
Many of the fabrics and supplies I use in each garment/look will be sourced sustainably – that is many fabrics will be used garments that have been disassembled and reconstructed. Material sources will be noted when possible.
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed creating it.

Here she is, everybody, my long-awaited BotW Zelda cosplay for the 2022 Renaissance Festival!
I had to take a lot of liberties, but now that it's all come together, I think those liberties worked out pretty well!
At this point, you might notice something's off.
...I couldn't find my Hyrule emblem buckle at the time of taking these photos, I'm still looking for it, and I'll update you when I find it, but I used my Sailor Moon compact mirror in place of it for the sake of the photos, so...

“In June 2022, as part of Keats-Shelley 200, the Keats-Shelley Memorial Association hosted the Gulf of Poets Festival in Lerici, Italy. Members and Trustees of the Association were joined by friends and poetry lovers from around the world and spent three days listening to poetry and exploring the area where Percy Bysshe Shelley and his family lived and where Shelley lost his life in 1822.
Guests included the UK Poet Laureate and Keats-Shelley 200 Ambassador, Simon Armitage as well as poets Scarlett Sabet, Annelisa Alleva and Paula Febbraro, who paid tribute to Shelley and his circle.

Ren Faire Reflections
Sitting in the airport
with an ache in my head
and a mediocre tea that’s
still the best I’ve had in days,
I am reflecting on the weekend
which was full of laughter and love.
We pushed ourselves beyond exhaustion
all in the name of fun,
but I wouldn’t change a thing about
any of the things we’ve done.
We tried food from different cultures
and watched a dazzling fire show,
we ooh’ed and ahh’ed at fireworks
and snapped a bunch of photos.
We practically stalked a musical comedy troupe
of hot nerds who can really harmonize
and fell in love with bagpipe music
and the twirling dancers
who all lit up the the stage.
We walked a lot around the grounds
of this medieval themed fest
coating our boots in thick brown dust
and seldom stopping for a rest.
We dressed as fae, dragons, warrior princesses
all sharing a theme
and then we all transformed
into a mushroom colony.
Even though I am exhausted
and don’t know how tomorrow will go,
I know I loved spending time with friends
and hope between now and the next time we meet
lady time doesn’t move too slow.

Its been 1 year of Jack in the Box and I am not okay
Cannot believe its been a whole year since J-Hope released his official debut album Jack in the Box. I remember leading up to the release of the More mv I was telling my friend that I thought we were going to go through a Rocktan renaissance. And then Hobi gave us an album that just spoke grunge and old school hip hop. When I tell you those teaser images came out and I was like oh okay, this this is speaking to my angsty childhood.
I sadly didn’t get to appreciate this album as much as I wanted to because on July 11th we had to put down my cat of 15 yrs. But I tried to be tuned in for streaming and votes, and I was more with it by Hobipalooza.
So today we revisit J-Hope, sorry Jay’s, debut album 😂
First order of business, I’m glad that the promotion and release cycle went the way Hobi wanted it to. But I will forever be wanting a cd cover with that KAWS artwork, its just so good!

The first introduction we had to Jack in the Box was through the release of the More mv on July 1, 2022. And the concept was definitely expressed. Hobi talked a lot throughout the promos about wanting to remove himself from the box of J-Hope, and see if he could still make music that would draw in people (paraphrasing), and for me he definitely succeeded.

The Arson mv released on July 15, 2022, along with the album. It was a good title track to choose because it really speaks to the old - school hip hop with the kick snare beat.
Both of the mvs for this album really invoked to me at least, mvs of the late 90s early 00s. Lots of muted dark colour palettes, close shots and enclosed spaces. For More specifically he’s always surrounded by stuff and contained within 4 walls, illustrating the claustrophobia of being contained. In More he’s still trapped in the box looking for more; whereas in Arson Jack has escaped and has burnt it all.
The choices for the two singles could not have been picked better. They bookend the album thematically and literally. Opening with More showcases the rock elements Hobi will be using, and ending with Arson calls back to his hip hop roots.

Just recently for festa we were treated to an Arson rock version, and oh boy does it slap. It’s less kick snare, more drum fills and guitar riffs. So if you’re not super into hip hop but love rock definitely check it out!

J-Hope headlined Chicago’s Lollapalooza on Sunday, July 31, 2022. He made history as the first Korean artist to headline a major U.S. festival. He drew a crowd of 100k to his 70 minute set at Bud Light Seltzer stage. He was A M A Z I N G!
I tuned in on weverse to watch his set and from the moment he popped out of the box he owned that stage. I’ve rewatched it a couple times since and every time its just as good. Highly highly recommend.

J - Hope in the Box

I’ve always loved documentaries and behind the scenes looks at creation of art. Watching the inception of JITB and the triumphant conclusion with Lollaplooza, showcased how dedicated J - Hope is to his craft. The contrast between the quiet montage of Hobi staring at his computer in the studio to the boisterous prep meetings and rehearsals demonstrates how his art is not made in a vacuum. It may begin as introspection but it eventually has to be shared and he can not control the reception of others. I really loved the ending where there’s a final ITM of J - Hope in a park on a sunny day in Chicago, having finished his set the night before. He speaks on his thoughts about how JITB rollout went and how it felt to finally perform as a solo act. If you haven’t already seen it you should, BH has always been good at delivering behind the scenes content and the editing on this doc was some of their best.
For the first official solo debut of a BTS I couldn’t have asked for anything better. J - Hope gave us an album that demonstrated a new side to him as an artist. For those who already loved his music, you received more amazing music. And for those who were new to him, you were introduced to a musician who loves to try new things and push the boundaries of his talent when he is already at the top.
Here’s to 1 year of Jack in the Box, and here’s to J - Hope!
