Ghost Blades

Casting Time: 1 Action

Range: 15 ft. cone

Components: V, S, M (a dagger)

Duration: Instantaneous

Description: A field of ghostly daggers springs up from the ground in the target area. All creatures of your choice in a 15 ft. cone that are touching the ground must make Dexterity saving throws or take 2d6 piercing damage and have their speed reduced to 0 ft. until the start of your next turn.

Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, it deals an additional 1d6 piercing damage for each slot level above 1st.

You twist a small patch of spacetime around the foot of a Medium or smaller creature that you can see within range. The creature makes a Dexterity saving throw, and on a failed save it trips and is knocked prone. On a successful save, nothing happens.

I don't think fear effects get the love they deserve. Here is a spell for a project I may never get done.

Twinge

1st level Enchantment

Casting time: 1 action

Range: 60 feet

Components: V, M(dried spider husk)

Duration: Instantaneous

With simply an utter and a look the caster caused a twinge of fear in the target causing the targets heart to race, damaging them in the process. The spell deals 2d4 psychic damage and on a failed wisdom save they are affected by the fear condition for 2 rounds.

Another of the new spells I've been making for my ranger :) it's a spelljammer setting and I didn't even anticipate how efficient this would be in shipboard combat on the astral sea, I'm getting very excited for this campaign :D

Planar Piercer

Level: 1st

Casting Time: 1 Bonus Action

Range/Area: Self (15 ft )

Components: V

Duration: Instantaneous

School: Conjuration

You create a piece of magical ammunition that fits whatever weapon you are wielding, this ammunition deals an extra 2d6 force damage in addition to the normal damage of the weapon being used to make the attack, and can pierce through objects and creatures. The ammunition passes harmlessly through objects and damages creatures behind the target hit by the attack. Creatures in a 15-foot-line behind the target must make a dexterity saving throw or take 2d6 force damage, or half as much on a success. On a miss the ammunition reappears in your hand or loaded in your weapon.

At Higher Levels: When casting this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher the distance the ammunition pierces is increased by 5 feet and the damage of the ammunition increases by 1d6 for every spell slot level above 1st.

Aziraphale and Crowley just finished running from a hoard of ethereal forces

They’re both panting, they’re both hot, so Aziraphale decides to unbutton his shirt to cool himself off and Crowley just stares at him

Crowley keeps doing this throughout the episode(s) until Aziraphale finally looks at him and says “Are you just going to stare or are you going to do something about it?”

Then Crowley discorporates and the show ends

Arcanatober Day 6– Verminous Swarm / Fool’s Gold

Today’s tarot card was the Ace of Coins / 1 of Pentacles / 1 of Rats, an interesting card from the minor arcana with a lot of different meanings depending on which deck you’re using. But I was able to leverage that variety of intent into not just one, but two very interesting spells that use player wealth in two different ways. One makes fake coins, while the other transforms coins into rats. useful? Maybe. Fun? Definitely.

Uses for this spell include: trapping enemies, granting cover to allies, blocking a pass, and giving you something to climb. You could even conjure it under your own feet and ride the growing tree up and out of reach. Sometimes a tree is just handy to have!]

Sprout

1st-level Conjuration

Casting Time: 1 Action

Range: 30 ft.

Components: V, S, M (a tree seed of any species)

Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes

Description: A ring of trees springs into being around a 5 ft. square within range. In each space adjacent to that chosen square, a tree shoots up from the ground, filling the space and growing to a height of 30 ft. A creature inside the ring can make a Dexterity saving throw, moving to any space outside the ring of trees on a success. Spaces occupied by a tree are impassable to creatures that are Small or larger, block all vision, and provide hard cover to anyone behind them. A creature can pass through the ring of trees by climbing over them or squeezing through using an action by making a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check against your spell DC.

The trees can also be destroyed. Each tree has an AC of 15, 20 hit points, and immunity to psychic damage. The trees disappear when the spell ends.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the size of the square surrounded by the trees increases by 5 feet on each side for each slot level above 1st. Creatures may only save against the spell if they are adjacent to a tree when you cast it.

do people who haven't seen campaign one know that percy grabbed the magic initiate: warlock feat during their level up halfway through the briarwood arc (where his corruption was a lot slower than in the show, and took place over about four days of percy just getting gradually worse), so taliesin could freak out his friends with "you don't know what's going on with percy, but whatever that dark smoke is, it's casting spells now"?

and because that was taken during a legit level up, it didn't go away after percy got unpossessed, matt just explained it as a scar on his soul

so percy, right up to the end of the campaign, and possibly to this day (i haven't seen s3), still has just a little bit of demonic magic at his disposal

#the spells were friends minor illusion and hex if you're curious #and while tieflings don't get 1st level spells as racial traits so no hex #friends and minor illusion are both innate tiefling abilities depending on the subrace #so you know maybe he gets to share one of those with his daughter #cr1 #percy de rolo #cr thoughts
