Ok I know I haven’t written a review for an Elvis Presley film in awhile. The truth is, I’ve been watching them, but felt too stressed to keep writing reviews with everything else going on in my life. But I feel like I have to write a review of this one.
First of all, it was a great, high-energy movie! The premise itself was a little uncomfortable, but Elvis was on the top of his game, and looked really good in this movie too.
“The Edge of Reality” and “A Little Less Conversation” were some of the best musical numbers I’ve ever seen in an Elvis film. And I’ve seen most of them so far.
This is definitely one of my favorites now, and if I ever rewatch all the Elvis films, I’ll make sure to do a rewatch of this one, and really appreciate it.
The love interest though? Crazy as hell! (But the push and pull between the two leads was a lot of fun to watch.)
But, yeah, this was a bright, fun film, and I loved it. I cannot wait to watch it again soon.
Only 9 feature films left! (Not counting documentaries and concert films.) I’ll be done in a couple of months hopefully...
A World Without Love - Peter and Gordon - Guitar Lesson ( TWO CAMERAS and 4K ). How to play A World Without Love by Peter and Gordon from 1964 ( written by Paul McCartney ). I use two cameras now, one for the fretboard and one for the strumming/picking hand for easy learning, with chord charts in the video.
Rolling Stone wrote that they sang like "lobotomized Trapp Family Singers" Their music has been described as both among the worst of all time and a work of unintentional brilliance. You either Get it or you don't. I personally love it.
