Reminder that today is Epiphany, the day we celebrate the Wise Men visiting baby Jesus to bring gifts and worship Him.
Do not let the D.C. swamp creatures overshadow this holiday with their “insurrection” fear mongering.
Do not let “January 6th” become the new “9/11”
Go get (or bake) a king cake/Rosca de Reyes. Go to church (today and/or tomorrow). Sing We Three Kings. Ignore people who want to make this day about politics or about “extremists”.
Today is about recognizing (as the Wise Men did) the true eternal King of kings, the Prince of Peace, not about political powers that will rise and fall and cannot last forever.

By my clock, it is now January 6th.
Unhappy 3rd Anniversary of 1/6.
As of what I can find typing this:
80 attackers are still unidentified.
More than 1230 attackers have been charged so far. Of those, about 730 have plead guilty and another 170 have been convicted of at least one of the charges against them in a court of law. 2 have been acquitted, both by judges instead of by a Jury of their peers.
Approximately 750 attackers have been sentenced so far. The longest sentence has been for Enrique Tarrio, Proud Boys National Chairman, now serving 22 years for seditious conspiracy. Second and third place are a tie, belonging to Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes, and Proud Boys Seattle-area Chapter President, Ethan Nordean. Both are serving 18 years for seditious conspiracy.
Scott Fairlamb, the first person to be sentenced for assaulting a law enforcement officer during the Capitol riot, after pleading guilty, was sentenced to 41 months in prison and was released last June. Several other attackers and conspirators who committed lesser crimes have been out of jail for a while.
Former President Trump's trial in regards to 1/6 is currently scheduled for March 4th of this year. By which time, the Supreme Court will most likely have weighed on at least one other trial he is involved in. They are scheduled to hear the his petition on the Colorado Supreme Court and Maine Secretary of State rulings that Trump is ineligible to run for political office by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment on this coming February 8th. By which time 3 Republican Primaries will already have been held, while 2 will be held on that same day.
The statute of limitations will start protecting people who have not yet been charged for their crimes during 1/6/2021 in 2 years, on 1/6/2026. Assuming that Trump does not win re-election and issue a blanket pardon.
I admit I'm dreading the 4th anniversary.

Remember when they called themselves "the resistance"
and the only requirements were that you consume and repeat corporate media narratives, while voting blue no matter who because "democracy".
Meanwhile three-letter agencies composed of life-long 6-figure government employees who've never stood for election actively ignored the elected government's orders even on matters of war.
Third party candidates have long called the election process rigged; requiring massive amounts of spending, time, and paperwork to appear on the ballot should they not be one of the two main parties. It now appears that even two candidates is too many for "democracy".
Watch what your "right wing" pundits and politicians says at this moment, because it is America's Rubicon. This will separate the wheat from the chafe, and the grifters from the believers.
The political class has too long used the right half of Americans as a heel in their choreographed wrestling match with the Democrats. This charade of "legitimate" political action can only let off so much steam.
The beltway politicians, pundits, "journalists" are all too comfy to heighten the rhetoric against their opponents, because it's just about winning that 30 second soundbite, they all go and get drinks together afterwards anyways.
They have doubled down without realizing that elections are the alternative to having a civil war. If you don't placate the minority on a regular basis there's no reason to continue participating in a system which is based on plundering that minority.
If they continue down this path, the things coming will make 1/6 look like a friendly hacky-sack match on the campus quad.
