Hello! First time requesting, kinda nervous 🙃.

Can I request a royal au of some sort? I have three ideas, you can choose ☺️. (For the third option, you can choose the member. I would like a scenario like that for all of them, but I don’t want to overwhelm you.)

Option 1: How would Xdinary Heroes react to you being a runaway Princess?

Option 2: How would Xdinary Heroes react to a Princess wanting to marry them? (Not just like the Princess sees some rando and goes “I want to marry HIM!” Like XH members be royal staff,(royal adviser, guard, servant, etc.) A childhood friend. (that’s all I can think of 😭)

Option 3: A Friends to Lovers kinda situation. Either something like forbidden love, with XH member of your choice being royal staff. (King & Queen want her to marry another royal) with them ending up together in someway. (I don’t like angst. MY POOR HEART CAN’T HANDLE THE SAD!!) Or the Princess being friends with her personal guard, (Member) finds out that her parents want her to marry a prince from another kingdom, but she refuses, and confesses to her guard, wanting to marry him, if that makes sense?

Gunil

Gunil is your personal guard that you befriended over the years. The two of you have gotten really close. Maybe even a little too close, since you found that you have fallen for Gunil.

“Princess, their majesties are requesting your presence in the throne room,” Gunil knocked on the outside of your door.

“Ok,” you answered, heading towards the door. Gunil opened the door for you allowing you to exit.

“You know you can just call them my parents…I also know how to open a door,” you told him playfully.

“Opening a door is an act of chivalry and it’s clearly stated in my contract to address them as majesties or highness,” Gunil responded promptly.

“If only I’m around then. I won’t tell on you,” you nudged his side.

“Duly noted,” Gunil gives you a playful look. The two of you arrived at the doors to the throne room and Gunil opened them for you.

“Mother, Father,” you politely greeted your parents.

“Great y/n you’re here. We have something to discuss with you. Take a seat,” your father says. You went over to your throne and sat down. “Y/n, you’re at the age where you should start considering marriage. We’ve already sent some letters to other royal families. We’ve received a few responses about some princes who wish to meet you,” Your father informs you. Your heart sank. You didn’t want to meet other princes, definitely didn’t want to marry them. If you were going to marry anyone you wanted it to be Gunil.

“What if I already have someone that I want to marry?” You asked tentatively.

“Oh, is it the prince from the ball last time? The one who lives in the next kingdom over? The two of you did seem to get along well,” your mother smiled warmly.

“No, he lives much closer than that,” you informed, causing your parents to look at you a bit confused. “It’s Gunil. My royal guard. I want to marry him,” you disclosed, looking at your lap.

On the outside of the throne room door Gunil hears your confession. He wasn’t eavesdropping. You can simply hear the conversation from outside of the door and his job was to guard that said door, so it was inevitable. Truth be told, Gunil wanted to marry you too. He had also fallen for you. He knew that it was wrong, he was your royal guard after all. His job was to guard you, keep you safe, not fall in love with you. However his heart didn’t seem to care for that last part.

“Gunil! Please enter!” Your father summoned Gunil. You immediately grew more anxious. Gunil himself felt anxious too, he took a deep breath before entering.

“Yes, your majesty?” Gunil questioned.

“I’m afraid I’ll have to fire you,” he told Gunil.

“Father! You don’t have to do that,” you hurried to interject.

“No, no, my future son in law shouldn’t be working as a royal guard,” he states. Son in law? Does that mean? “That is of course if Gunil is willing to take your hand in marriage,” he looks over to Gunil. “Will you?” He asks him.

“Of course” Gunil approaches you, taking your hand in his. “Honestly I’ve long harbored feelings for Princess y/n, but that wasn’t professional, so I never acted on them,” Gunil revealed. “Will you marry Y/n?” “I’ll get you a ring later,” he chuckled.

“I’d happily marry you any day,” you tell him.

“Then it’s settled,” your father smiled, patting Gunil on the shoulder.

“Ooh I can’t wait to plan the wedding!” Your mother squealed.

Jungsu

Jungsu worked as a servant at your castle. He was young, around your age, so you naturally gravitated towards him. You didn’t really have any friends, due to spending most of your time inside the castle walls. At first Jungsu was a little nervous about interacting with you. Servants weren’t really supposed to interact with the royal family outside of doing their assigned duties. You assured Jungsu that it was ok, saying you’d assigned him to be your friend if you had to. After that the two of you started to bond. Your parents were actually happy to see you two getting along. They knew that you tended to get lonely and were happy that you finally had someone to keep you company. That’s why they pretend to not know about your secret late night meetings at the pavilion.

Presently, you, your mother and your mother’s friend who happened to be a queen from another kingdom were having tea out in the garden. Jungsu had just poured your cups of tea.

“Thank you,” you smiled at him.

“My pleasure,” he bowed his head at you. Your mother noticed the way you two looked at each other lovingly. She found it adorable how coyly you two acted.

“You know our children are at the age of marriage,” your mothers friend brings up.

“Indeed they are,” your mother said. Your nerves began to bubble up at the talk of marriage.

“Maybe we should set the two of them up,” she spoke, causing you to choke on your tea. You know that the prince is a nice guy, but you don’t want to marry him. Honestly, you wanted to marry Jungsu. With time you two spent together. Staring at the stars while having late night talks at the pavilion. You had fallen in love with him. Although you didn’t get your hopes up about being able to be together with him because you know that his status wouldn’t make your relationship a desirable one to others.

“Oh honey be careful,” your mother patted your back.

“I’m sorry,” you excused yourself.

“As much as it would be nice to set our children up. I’m afraid I’ll have to decline. My daughter already has someone in mind when it comes to marriage,” your mother tells.

“Who would that lucky fellow be?” Your mom’s friend asks.

“It will be announced soon,” Your mother says with a certain look in her eyes. The three of you finish your tea and bid your mothers friend a farewell.

“Mother, what did you mean by it will be announced soon?” You questioned.

“You love Jungsu don’t you?” Your mother checks. If you were still drinking tea you would have choked again. Jungsu, who was earshot away, heard this. He instantly felt relieved, he had too fallen for you, but due to his servant status he accepted that he could only be with you as a friend. He never imagined that your parents would support your relationship.

“How did you know?” You were surprised you thought you covered your feeling well.

“It’s in your guys eyes. They can’t hide the love you two carry,” she says. Jungsu comes over to clear your tea cups and saucers.

“Allow me this time, Jungsu. You can Y/n should talk,” your mother gestures for him to sit down. She takes the tray from Jungsu and takes the tea cups and saucers inside.

“I want to marry you Jungsu and my parents approve,” you told him.

“I heard,” he takes your hand in his. “I want to marry you too,” he places a kiss over your ring finger.

Gaon/Jiseok

Jiseok was a friend you made while attending the school for royals. You met during your first year there at the age of five and have remained friends all the way till now at the ripe age of twenty.

Currently you and Jiseok are both painting in the garden. You were each trying to paint the rose bush in front of you two. Jiseok took a peek over at your canvas and started to laugh.

“What is it?” You asked, curious about why he was laughing.

“Cause yours looks like that and mine looks like this,” he said, still laughing. You looked over at his painting and saw a more…abstract interpretation of the rose bush. You couldn’t contain your laughter.

“I like it. I’ll hang it in my room when it’s done,” you told him.

“I don’t think this is worthy of being displayed. Yours is though,” he said.

“You take it then,” you placed your brush down. “We can exchange them,” you told him.

“Princess y/n it’s time for your fitting,” one of the servants came to inform you. You sighed. The fitting was for a suitors ball, where all eligible royals would attend.

“Someone doesn’t want to go to their fitting,” Jiseok poked.

“I don’t want to go to the ball,” you clarified. You didn’t want to go to the suitors ball because the only prince you wanted was sitting right beside you, Jiseok.

“Why not?” Jiseok asks you. He didn’t want to attend the ball either and it was for the same reason as you. The only princess he wanted to marry was you. You were silent for a bit debating how you should answer. Every second that passed made Jiseok grow more anxious.

“The only suitor I’m interested in is you,” you finally spoke. Jiseok’s eyes widened in shock. His feelings were mutual, but he wasn’t expecting you to say it out loud. He quickly recovered from the shock.

“Then you should change your fitting to a wedding dress one,” Jiseok tells you.

“What?” You asked, taken aback.

“The only reason I was going to the suitor ball was to keep other princes away from you,” Jiseok admits sheepishly.

“Being engaged would definitely keep other princes away from me,” you hinted. Jiseok looks you in the eyes and smiles. He got up from where he was sitting, walked over the rose bush, plucking a rose from it. He walked back over to you and kneels in front of you.

“Y/n would you do me the honors of marrying me?” He asks you, handing you the rose. You carefully took the rose from his hand, lifting it to your nose to smell it’s floral scent.

“Yeah I guess so,” you said playfully. Jiseok lightly smacks your knee.

“Don’t make me take the rose back,” he threatens you, standing up. You held the rose closer to your chest.

“I’d happily marry you any day of the week,” you tell him. You stand up and hug Jiseok, careful not to damage the rose. The two of you stay embraced for a moment celebrating your engagement. “Come on, let's go tell them that we can no longer attend the ball,” you pulled away from the hug. Jiseok eagerly nodded, taking your hand.

“Mother, you will need to cancel my fitting,” you informed your mom.

“Why’s that dear?” she questioned, but she already knew the answer by looking at yours and Jiseok intertwined hands.

“Because she needs a wedding dress instead,” Jiseok told her.

“Took you two long enough,” she joked. “I’ll tell the tailor right away,” she smiled.

O.de/Seungmin

Your parents, the king and queen, were currently out of the kingdom to take care of some official business, leaving you to manage the kingdom for a while. Thankfully you weren’t alone, you had Seungmin, your family's royal adviser, to help you.

“Seungmin I don’t think that I’m cut out for this,” you sighed plopping down onto the couch inside of the study.

“What do you mean? You’re doing a great job princess I assure you,” Seungmin says. Your heart flutters at him calling you princess. It really shouldn’t, plenty of others refer to you using the name, but for some reason, because you're in love with him, it always makes your stomach feel warm when he calls you that.

“No, you’re doing a great job Seungmin. I’ve just done what you’ve advised me to do,” you stated. Seungmin comes over sitting beside you. Right beside you, so close your legs are touching.

“You’ve learned from it though havent you?” He asks. You nodded your head.

“See, you’re doing great then,” he reassures you.

“I’ve received letters about princes asking for my hand in marriage,” you brought up. Seungmin’s chest tightens at the news. He should be professional about you. You are at the age of marriage, however he heart doesn’t want him to be professional about it. It wants him to be selfish about it. That the only person he advises you to marry is himself. “What are your thoughts on that Mr. Advisor?” You question. A brief small comes onto his face at your use of the nickname. The nickname also lets him know that you’re being serious. Ironically enough you call him by that nickname whenever you need advice about a serious matter.

“Do you want to get married?” He starts off with a more broad question, thinking it’s a safer choice.

“If it’s to one certain person then yes, but if it’s not him then no,” you answered. Seungmin’s heart fell. Did you already have someone else in your heart?

“Who is he? As your advisor I need to make sure that he’s good enough,” he tries to keep it professional.

“I think you’d definitely approve of him,” you tell him. Your answer grows Seungmin’s curiosity.

“Then tell me his name,” he prods you. His heart is beating fast, something it usually doesn’t do. He’s supposed to remain calm, but when it comes to you that’s a hard battle for him.

You leaned closer to Seungmin to whisper in your answer in his ear.

“You,” your breath grazed across his ear. You lean back to see his reaction. Seungmin takes in a sharp breath and looks at you, locking eyes. Then he breaks out into a smile.

“You’re right I definitely approve of him,” he confirms. “How long have you wanted to marry me?” He quizzes you.

“I always thought that you were cute the second my father first introduced you. One time I saw you helping a maid who dropped a tray clean up and I don’t know if something about it made me fall for you,” you told him.

“That’s kinda funny,” Seungmin began. “I once saw you helping the gardener clean up a bag of compost that got spilled in the garden. You got it all over the bottom of your dress, soil covering your face from you accidentally wiping your hands on it, but you still like the most beautiful girl I ever saw and now I get to keep you by my side,” he wrapped an arm around you.

Junhan/Hyeongjun

Hyeongjun was a guard at your palace. He was quiet, didn’t talk too much. It led to people taking him to be cold and stern, but only if they knew the real him, like you do. His quietness is what drew you towards him. It made you curious about what he was really like.

One night you were crying inside of your room. Your parents had scolded you about how you need to be better. Behave more maturely, more princess-like. You needed to take your responsibilities more seriously. It was time for you to be a proper princess. Little did your parents know that you were already trying your best.

“Princess y/n, are you alright?” Hyeongjun’s voices called from outside of your bedroom. It surprised you. You didn’t think that out of all of your staff he would be the one to reach out and comfort you.

“I’m fine,” you sniffled out, it wasn’t very convincing. It pulled on Hyeongjun’s heartstrings seeing, well hearing technically, you cry.

“May I enter?” He asked for your permission. You quickly tried to wipe away your tears.

“Yes, you may,” you allowed him access. He stepped into your room seeing your upset state. He frowned and walked over next to you. He sat down on your bed beside you and guided your head onto his shoulder.

“You can cry princess, let it all out. I’m here for you,” he said. That’s all it took for your held back tears to flow again. It was that night that you opened your heart to Hyeongjun. That night you realized how kind Hyeongjun actually was. That it wasn’t coldness that made him so quiet, but rather shyness.

Hyeongjun always took care of you and ended up becoming a personal guard for you instead. You were ecstatic when this happened because it meant that you could spend more time with Hyeongjun. You had certainly fallen for him.

The two of you currently sat in the library of your place. Each of you were reading your own respective books. It was a hobby the pair of you enjoyed doing together.

“I want to marry you Hyeongjun,” you randomly declared, breaking the comfortable silence that encompassed the library. Hyeongjun clumsily dropped the book from his hands, it landed on the floor with a thud.

“Princess y/n I don’t think that’s acceptable. A royal guard and a princess,” he states.

“My mom told me that I should marry whomever I please and I please you Hyeongjun,” you told him.

“But princess others would-” he started.

“Don’t think about others. Think about yourself. How do you feel about me?” You questioned him.

“I’d like to marry you too,” he confesses. “I’m sure that you can tell that I care about you. I always want to take care of you. Whether it be as a royal guard or something more,” he confessed.

“I’d prefer it be the latter,” you smiled, closing your book and making your way over to Hyeongjun. Once you made it over to Hyeongjun he took both of your hands in his and kneeled on one knee before you.

“Then y/n, would you marry me? I promise I’ll take care of you for the rest of your life,” he proposes.

“Of course I’ll marry you Hyeongjun. I think I wanted to marry since that night you comforted me in my room all that time ago,” you accepted. Hyeongjun stands up, hands moving from your hands to your shoulders.

“I’ve loved you since then,” he revealed. “It hurt my heart so much to know that you were crying in there all alone,” he added. You couldn’t contain your excitement and hug him tightly making him chuckle, but he hugs you back just as tightly.

Jooyeon

Jooyeon was your childhood friend. He was the son of one of your father’s friends, who also happened to be a king. At first your impression of Jooyeon was that he was annoying. He always tried to distract you whenever you two were having lessons together. Now however the two of you were peas in a pod. It was more odd for you to be apart. Royal staff would joke asking “Where’s the other one?” whenever it was just one of you doing something.

“When are you and Jooyeon planning to get married?” Your mother asked you when the both of you were doing embroidery together.

“Mom, what are you talking about!” You exclaimed embarrassed. You didn’t even know if Jooyeon liked you back. It only seemed natural that you fell for him over your many years of friendship. You’re not even entirely sure when it happened. You just know that one day while the two of you were skipping rocks in your pond you just knew that he was the one for you. Like something just clicked right into place. You wanted to spend the rest of your life with Jooyeon.

“Y/n, everyone knows that you two love each other. Both of our kingdoms have basically been anticipating your marriage since you were kids,” she tells you.

“Since we were kids? That’s a bit much,” you say, causing your mom to laugh.

“You both would make such a good couple. Plus I know that you love him, so don’t act like you don’t,” she points.

“Even if I do. I don’t know if he feels the same way,” you said, sounding a bit disheartened.

“He does.” she tells you earnestly.

“How do you know?” You put to question.

“Because I told her that I wanted to marry you when I was six,” Jooyeon announces, entering the room. Little did you know Jooyeon was standing right outside the room hearing your entire conversation.

Jooyeon long since knew that he wanted to be the one you marry. You had scolded him for not paying attention during a lesson, but all he wanted was your attention. It was during a ball celebrating one of his uncles marriages that he went to your mom and told her that he wanted to marry you. Saying that they would have to have a ball like this one one day for you and him. Your mother could tell that he meant it. Although he was only six, so she could only hope that those feelings he carried for you wouldn’t change. Much to her liking they never did.

“How much of that did you hear?” You questioned.

“I basically just indirectly proposed to you and that’s what you ask?” Jooyeon laughed in disbelief. You couldn’t hold your own laugh. He did just admit that your romantic feelings for him are mutual, but you wanted to know how much over the conversation with your mother he heard. It did sound ridiculous.

“Well depending on how much of our conversation you heard you would know that I want to marry you too,” you defended.

“Then it’s settled, we’re now engaged,” Jooyeon stated promptly.

“I don’t know, my ring finger looks loney,” you said, wiggling your ring finger. Jooyeon came over to you and picked up a spool of red thread. He carefully wrapped it around your ringer finger, typing a little bow on top.

“Until I get you a real one,” he told you. You smiled looking at the thread around your finger.

“Ok we’re engaged now,” you stated officially.

“I’ll work on the wedding invitations!” Your mother enthusiastically jumps up.

My Top 9 albums of 2023

I got tagged by @blmpff. thank you 💕

I listen to mainly kpop. So i guess this is my favorite kpop albums of 2023. And my spotify is heavily tied to stationhead for listening parties so it's very biased and unreliable.

First off: Ateez and their 3 EPs they released this year stole my heart and overtook SKZ.

Halazia from Ateez's Spin off: From the Witness was a mini EP. This started my year as they literally released it Dec. 30, 2022 so I didn't add the album cover up there in the top 9. I was also still lowkey freaking out as I had got to see them in concert Nov. 2022 and they had Xikers (pre-debut) perform with them. And I watched this music video way too many times.

1. Outlaw - Ateez. This is a no skip album. I love every single one of these. Don't make me choose a favorite.

2. The World EP.FIN: Will - Ateez. I picked one of my favorite group songs off this but their unit songs are amazing: Everything- Jongho and IT's You (Yeosang, San, Wooyoung)

3. Dual - The Rose. I got to see them TWICE this year: Sept & Oct. 2023 and had a BLAST. This album is amazing. Also I really liked the album cover.

4. Rockstar - Stray Kids. Another no skip album. I got to see SKZ in March 2023 for their Maniac tour. And Mr. Bang keeps me delulu on Bubble.

5. 5-STAR - Stray Kids. [hehe fitting] Another no skip album. My number one song was obviously S-Class. Superbowl shook me to my core. And then they made me cry with Youtiful.

6. Deadlock - Xdinary Heroes. They spelled out FUCK YOU in their title song Freakin' Bad.

7. The Name Chapter: Temptation - Tomorrow x Together. I saw TXT in May 2023... It's an EP of 5 great songs.

8. Dark Blood - Enhypen. My vampires. I literally made a BL gifset to the lyrics of their song Bite Me. Another favorite: Chaconne.

9. House of Tricky: Doorbell Ringing - Xikers (and also their other EP: How to Play) I got to shanty (Tricky House) with them pre-debut. I love their concept too. Also Tricky House some how made it in my top 15 songs for 2023.

Honorable Mention:

FML- Seventeen. There's just something about this album I like.

The Name Chapter: Freefall - TXT. Solely for Blue Spring being on it.

SKZ Replay: I also hold this close to my heart as it was a christmas gift from Stray Kids in 2022. So it feels more like a 2023 album. It also has the most whiplash between songs.

Single: Dum Dum - Jeff Satur (and also Steal the Show) but also Macarena - Blitzers and Baggy Jeans - NCT U [which they also added to an album] and the eurovision winner Cha Cha Cha - Käärijä.

or title tracks like: Shalala by Taeyong or Guilty by Taemin that I want to include for reasons.

Favorite OST from 2023: Let's Try from OFTS. I listened to this every Friday waiting for the new episode to be released. And it should have made it into my spotify 2023 playlist. I almost picked MSP's cover of Tilly Bird's Just Being Friendly.

also happy 1 year with xdinary heroes! they debuted 1 year ago today, and as a predebut stan i couldnt be more proud of them and how far they have come !!!

you laid on jungsu's bed scrolling through your phone, listening to him as he practiced on his keyboard. you had already gotten ready for bed, while he was still in his day outfit, and his clear framed glasses. you loved watching and listening to him practice, sometimes it made you feel a certain way.

"jungie" you pout, standing behind him leaning into him. "i'm tired, when are you gonna get ready for bed?" he paused, looking up at you. "in just a moment honey, you know you can go to bed without me yeah?"

"yeah, but i don't want to, i want you" he smiled, grabbing your wrist, guiding you to sit on his lap, specifically straddling one thigh. your face was buried into his neck, his arms were holding you up while still playing his instrument. for a split second he decided to shift around in his chair, causing his leg to rub against you in just the right spot, which made you whimper.

it didn't go unnoticed by jungsu, when he laughed to himself. he wasn't laughing at you, no he would never, he thought you were adorable. “do you need anything baby?” he asks. you weren't sure what he was referring to, but the idea that popped into your mind made you feel embarrassed, so you removed your nose from the nuzzle of his neck and turned the other way.

“i can tell you’re needy honey, why didn't you say anything” he rubs your back with one hand, you were still silent. “hm? c'mon, look at me” he pulls you up, forcing you to look at him. your face felt warm when his hand caressed it. you looked down twiddling your thumbs “its embarrassing”. jungsu felt sad that you thought being vocal about your needs to him was hard to do.

“no, it's not, i want you to tell me what you need, anytime, i don't care what i'm doing”, you nod, with no response. “now, what is it that you need?” he asks again, it was still hard for you to say it out loud so he helped you out some. “do you wanna get off on my thigh?” his hands met each side of your waist. you nodded before speaking “please?” it was more of a question, but how could he say no to you?

“go ahead baby, you know i don’t mind” your hands sat on his shoulders, and his hands helped guide you. it started off slow, you were so sensitive, even you didn't realize it. but when the pleasure slowly started to build you found your bottom lip stuck between your teeth.

“there you go, you’re doing so good” jungsu smiles, moving a strand of your hair out of your face. the pace sped up, you were moving faster and he pushed your hips down harder. a dark spot formed in your shorts, when jungsu spotted it his head fell back with a groan.

the only noise that could be heard was the friction of your clothes and your quiet whimpers, which could be louder if you weren't so anxious about the members coming home and hearing. your arms wrapped around his neck, leaning forward. “please kiss me” so he did, your moans vibrate off of each others tongues.

you looked into his shiny eyes, the eyes that felt like home to you. “i love you, oh my god” you smile breathlessly. “i know, i know i love you honey” his breathing sped up as well, as he placed another deep kiss onto your lips.

he pulled away from your lips, his thumb finding its way between them. you let it enter your mouth, gently sucking on it. the warmth of your mouth made jungsu spiral, so he started to slowly bounce it leg, causing your whimpers to grow louder.

“no please don’t apologize, you looked so pretty riding my thigh like that, we'll have to do that more often” he smiled, kissing your forehead. “well now i'm more tired than i was before” jungsu stood up taking you with him, laying both of you on the bed. “that's okay, we can sleep now” he covered you up with the blankets, peppering kisses all over your face. “goodnight my pretty baby.”

࣪𖤐 chaewon trained with most of the members, except for eunchae, so she’s pretty close with them. with them still being under the same company, it’s easy for they to hang out often. whether that’s gaming with sakura, having jam sessions with yunjin, twinning with kim chaewon, dancing with kazuha, or even having fun with eunchae who she built a friendship with even after leaving the group. the girls all see each other as sisters.

ִ ࣪ ִ ࣪𖤐 MINJI : NEWJEANS

࣪𖤐 while chaewon is friendly with all of the members of newjeans, if someone were to ask her who her best friend was, she would 100% say minji. the two met when chaewon joined source and instantly connected. whenever one of them is live of filming a vlog, there’s a 50% chance the other will be somewhere in the background. the two usually hangout, having lunch dates or in the hybe practice room when their schedules are open.

ִ ࣪ ִ ࣪𖤐 ࣪NINGNING : AESPA

࣪𖤐 these two met at an award show. chaewon was sitting by herself and karina invited her to sit with the rest of aespa. chaewon instantly connected with ningning, joking with her and making conversation in between the show. clips of the two laughing together went viral on twitter, making their newly found friendship public. their hangouts usually consist of shopping dates and having mini fashion shows at chaewon’s house. they’re always hyping each other up as well, whether talking about a photoshoot the other did or a performance, they’re each others number 1 hype girls.

ִ ࣪ ִ ࣪𖤐 RICKY : ZB1

࣪𖤐 these two met backstage at inkigayo while filming a tiktok challenge for ZB1’s “CRUSH”. they actually got along well and are pretty similar in personality and style, which led them to keeping in contact afterwards. they don’t really hang out much so their friendship isn’t really public, but they remain close through text.

ִ ࣪ ִ ࣪𖤐 JOOYEON : XDINARY HEROES

࣪𖤐 despite being two years older than her, jooyeon was actually terrified of chaewon when they met as trainees. the reason why they’re even friends to begin with is because when chaewon saw him for the first time, he reminded her of her brother so she approached him. they actually did develop a sort of brother-sister relationship after that.

ִ ࣪ ִ ࣪𖤐 HIKARU : KEP1ER

࣪𖤐 chaewon’s happy pill. they were fans of each other before becoming friends. chaewon like hikaru’s rapping and her overall vibe while hikaru was a fan of chaewon’s music. hikaru definitely brings out a brighter side in chaewon, often being playful and childish with each other. their friends usually consist of fun outings and and chaotic text messages. hikaru has definitely gotten her to do silly tiktok trends that she’d normally never do, but chaewon could never say no to her.

ִ ࣪ ִ ࣪𖤐 RIN : STRAY KIDS @skz-rin

࣪𖤐 rin and chaewon met at paris fashion week. chaewon, feeling intimidated in that atmosphere, mostly kept to herself. rin on the other hand, approached her and began a conversation like they had know each other for years. it’s a friendship most wouldn’t expect but, the two balance each other out well. rin being energeticly chaotic while chaewon’s more calmly chaotic. they’re each others enablers fr. nothing ever goes well whenever these two are together; they make to worst decisions. but no matter what they do, they always enjoy each others company and are always guaranteed to end the day laughing their heads off.

hwanghon brew director's cut

hello everyone first of all, please bear with me this is the first time i've tried using tumblr and i honestly don't know my way around it yet. With that being said, please allow me to give you the director's cut of Hwanghon Brew i promised 2 years ago lmao TT

So, for starters, hwanghon brew was commissioned by my good friend ate cams (who was absolutely patient with me. love u ate cams mwa)

THE PLAYLIST

I was given the freedom to do whatever, come up with whatever plot that ties these things together, so I did! The first thing that came to mind of course, was the vibe I wanted to go for. So i immediately looked up a modern vampire playlist to set the mood, and stumbled upon this playlist. which is honestly so fitting because 1) the cover is a screenshot from the given-taken japanese mv, and 2) the person who made it seems to be an engene seeing that the first song in the playlist is drunk-dazed.

Anyway, Supermassive Black Hole by Muse became the first song that I associated to Hwangwon. It was like, idk the theme song while i was writing it? In fact, the whole black market scene during the intro was written to supermassive black hole. I didn't really make a moodboard for HB and instead created a playlist and relied on getting the vibe from that instead.

if i were to describe the songs that i picked out for hwanghon, it would be dark and somewhat eerie. most of them were rock/alt, (Test Me - Xdinary Heroes, One in a Billion - Enhypen, Tonight is the Night I Die - Palaye Royal)

some were also alternative/indie like Teeth - 5SOS, cult leader - king mala, and Blood // Water - grandson.

I played this playlist 24/7 while writing the fic NO JOKE LIKE ESPECIALLY IN THE SHOWER even though some of the songs creeped me out T^T bc honest to god some of them lowkey sounded demonic but it is what it is. So, I listened to these vampy songs while trying to come up with the main theme of the fic.

If you watched the video teasers I posted on my twitter, you'd know that I strongly associated Xdinary Heroes songs to HB, especially during the scenes where they're playing tag and running around the city, especially Test Me.

Hold Me Tight, and Tunnel by KimYeji were for the more somber parts like Jake's inner monologues about fitting in, heejay talking about the coven and jake, and especially the scene were Jay runs to Jake in the bathroom and relives Heeseung's near death.

And while I do associate their running scenes with xdinary heroes, BONBON GiRL by SARM is an honorable mention. To me this is a bouncier song for the times they're leaping from one rooftop to another, just having fun while Seoul's citylights shine below them. When I play this song, Hwanghon Brew suddenly turns into this cyberpunk vampire anime in my mind.

Some special mentions that I really enjoyed listening to and helped me brainstorm for scenes are: Real Boy - Lola Blanc, Verbatim - Mother Mother, and Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High - Artic Monkeys.

OUTLINING

As some of my readers might know, my first step when writing a fic is to make an outline. My first thought was to think about the characters. With heejay being established, it only made sense for me to make them members of the frat/coven. With that thought in mind, I wondered how to write Jake into their lives. And thought, hmm, what if he moved to Seoul for college and stumbles upon one of the coven members? Let's make him a newly turned vampire from the country side.

So i was trying to come up with the main theme of the fic and initially came up with this:

I was just thinking that jake was just, idk, desperately trying to fit in even though he was already part of the coven, and heejay could teach him how to be a vampire and their feelings could develop through that. Of course, this idea changed as the outline became more fleshed out.

After establishing the basics of the character backgrounds, my next step was to outline the plot itself. I divided the plot into the 5+1 structure, and brainstormed for a main event/scene per number.

this is the unedited original outline LMAOO which obviously was changed as I went along with writing it. I wasn't given an exact word count and was just told to write whatever I wanted (thank you sm ate cams 🥺) and honestly i went into this thinking that i'd be done by 10k HAHAHAHA BOY WAS I WRONG. then again, i shouldn't really be surprised because i have the habit of going over my target word count. In fact my bestie Erina (who helped me brainrot a lot during the writing process (luv u bubbie hwanghon brew will forever be your inaanak) was like. bubbie. how could you even think you'd be done by 10k LMAOO)

anyways, let's unpack this original outline. the [ 5 - hoon supposed to take him to hwanghon but can't ] made it to the fic since Sunghoon really asked Jay to take Jake to hwanghon. [ 4 - heeseung arc, bonding over ramyeon ] was only partially kept. Instead of the 4th part being about jake feeling hesitant, it becomes heejake growing closer through their convo while having ramyeon, and jake trying to get closer to jay by using the honey cookies. So i guess you can say that food holds importance in this part.

the third part where jake underestimates his appetite and heejay come to the rescue is kept, but added to it are heejake and heejay scenes, the latter giving more insight to the jayke aspect of things

The 2nd one. So my thought process here is: the initiation is successful. However, throughout and after this, heejay become more and more possessive over jake without them actually noticing and without them realizing why. So, the members intervene by acting all flirty with jake until heejay finally acknowledge their feelings, and this leads to the jealousy jealousy part in number 1. and somehow the tension just builds up until they all just erupt and make out, which would lead to them feeding on each other.

as you can see, khan's appearance in the fic was not part of the original outline. and that definitely changes a lot of things.

for the first few parts of the fic, i outlined the turn of events and crossed them out once i finished writing that sequence. my original outline somehow ends here? IDK how i outlined the rest of the fic LMAO IT WAS A FEVER DREAM. ANYWAY.

THE BLACKMARKET

i wanted to start the fic with a banger. literally. so, what better way to do it than to bombard countryboy Jake with the grim reality of the city, right?

After listening to Supermassive Black Hole, this black market scene immediately played in my mind and set the tone for the rest of the fic. It came to me quickly--the image of Jake stumbling upon a black market swaying, dizzy as hell, his vision splitting and all these neon signs swirling around him. for me, the song cemented the over all night life/cyberpunk vibe that I was going for.

At first, I was thinking that it's Jay who finds Jake in that market. Like the thought of spotting Jay amidst the blur of people was so appealing to me (especially as your resident jayker). But I figured that it would be better for Sunghoon to find him first, because not only does this create a foundation for jakehoon's friendship, but also sets the stage for a better meeting between jake and heejay.

Right off the bat I wanted this scene to be as descriptive as possible, so that I could immediately give the readers a good feel of the universe and the dark tone of the fic. Hence why I enumerated every single thing from a man trying to sell Jake drugs,

“Hyungnim,” A man suddenly slings his arm around his shoulders. “You looking for a good time?” “N-no,” He answers meekly, pushing away the man who had a couple of tattoos dotting the left side of his face, his leather jacket reeking of alcohol and some kind of earthy, herby scent.

(that's why he smelled earthy - y'know...marijuana) to prostitutes trying to beckon him over

“Hey, are you lost?” Two girls call out to him in coy voices, breaking out into giggles and taking drags of the cigarettes pinned between their long manicured nails.

Anyway, while i was writing this, i was constantly seeking opinions from my close friends (love u erina i could not have written most of this without you) and recieved good feedback about the intro, so i think it was pretty effective.

SUNGHOON

(this is the hoon in my head!! ugh so hot fr fr imagine him just walking along seoul at night jumping from one roof to another)

like I said, since i made Sunghoon the character who finds Jake, I wanted him to make a strong impression, which is why he is how he is--practically dragging Jake to the cafe, ordering for him, talking on and on even though Jake wasn't responding LMAO like Sunghoon didn't really care TT

I also wanted him to have #humor which is why he's so damn sarcastic all the time "don't worry i don't bite" SAYS THIS WITH HIS CHEST WHILE BEING A WHOLE VAMPIRE LIKE FUCK OFFF "no humans were harmed in the process" he's so??!?! anyway, it was super fun writing him, he's easily one of my favorite sunghoons in all the fics i've written.

though it looks like him being a lovesick fool is a common thing among my fics and i don't regret this one bit. It's so funny writing Sunghoon pining over Sunoo when the latter doesn't even give him his time of the day (not true, actually he's just equally enamored)

While it is true that Sunghoon is one of the comedic reliefs in this fic, Sunghoon is also the token best friend that everyone needs. He has his own way of looking after Jake that is just so endearing to me. In fact one of my personal favorite scenes would be the jakehoon skirmish during the initiation where they're just tumbling down from one roof to another. They way Sunghoon was so proud when Jake managed to get his necklace 🥺 and the way he was like "Go. The other three won't be as easy as I was."

In his own silly little ways, he makes sure that Jake isn't left behind and watches over him. (Sunghoon wouldn't have brought Jake to the cafe and bought him a blood smoothie to begin with if he wasn't so kind) Speaking of blood smoothie, that brings us to the next part

RASPBERRY ORANGES

also known as blood oranges, where Enhypen coined their album name "Orange Blood" from. If you check the dates, Hwanghon Brew was posted before this release so belift, i was first 🙄 (lighthearted) anyway, blood oranges are literally just oranges but the insides are red.

I was searching for a fruit that would pass off as the same color as blood because I wanted Sunghoon to order something cryptic. In the sense that it's not really on the menu since only vampires would know about it because it's a code for blood, but if per se, a human manages to overhear it and ask about it, they could just serve a real fruit smoothie and it wouldn't look any different.

I thought maybe dragonfruit? but it's too purple. raspberry is too pink. strawberry would be too pale. I stumbled upon the raspberry orange, saw the pulp looking like blood and i thought, yeah this is it. This looks vampire-y enough.

I included this fruit solely because of that and didn't really think of anything else lol. Later on, I found out through my moot Kaia that blood oranges hold meanings that really align with the concept of Hwanghon Brew

THE BASEMENT

I don't know if i should feel flattered, scared, or annoyed that there seem to be so many parallels between hwanghon brew and official enhypen content. because first of all, i posted HB in october of 2022, and it had the line "bite me" (i'm not gatekeeping that phrase but the parallels are just fascinating) and then they come out with Dark Blood and Bite Me as the title track in 2023. Also, like i said, blood oranges, Orange Blood, etc etc. And the basement/frathouse IS EXACTLY WHAT THE SET IN SWEET VENOM LOOKS LIKE

like. the strobe lights, the party, the dingy mattresses??? thanks to belift for bringing my fic to life i guess??!?W@#$ anyway, since they were a coven disguised as a frat, i figured it was only right for them to have a frathouse. i didn't do much research on frats because i didn't focus on it much in the fic, but i guessed that frathouses were mostly...well, messy. Plus, they're supposed to be broke college kids, so i thought it'd be fitting for them to rent out a cheap basement in one of the shady alleys in Seoul.

THE COVEN

While it is true that they're also kind of a frat, like Sunghoon says,

“It’s a coven and a frat. I mean, we’re fronting as a frat. But, it’s not exactly a disguise because we really are a frat? You get what I mean.” Sunghoon waves his messy explanation off.

they are a coven first and foremost, which to me crosses out the thought that they only have men (since y'know. frat). in my mind the coven also has female members. since txt are part of it, i immediately thought of itzy, pictured yeji and ryujin on the couch making out and i was like yeah, i like that.

aside from the basement looking like sweet venom, at the time I was writing it, SV wasn't out yet. So the party was actually mostly based on the drunk-dazed party

Anyway, it's mentioned in passing that the pioneer of this coven is Jay, and he served as its leader for a good few centuries before handing the torch to Jungwon. Since then, he took the backseat with the leadership, but still helped in calling the shots. Jungwon doesn't make big decisions without consulting him (and Heeseung consequently)

MEETING HEEJAY

Like I said, I wanted to set the stage for heejay--present them in a way that both Jake and the readers know that they aren't like any other. I wanted them to be revered. While everyone was wilding it out partying, they were in the backroom watching it all unfold. idk there's just something about them just sitting there and watching over their people. literally like kings over their constituents. (constituents??!!)

Tall nose, sharp lips, tanned skin peeking out from the rips in his jeans

Tall nose, small lips, sharp jaw trailing down to a chin that juts out when he frowns. A leather choker around his neck, his knitted top torn.

These were the pictures in mind when I wrote the descriptions of heejay's first appearance

JAY

i can't recall if someone left a comment about this or a friend told me, but i remember someone saying that it made so much sense that Jay was the eldest vampire. they said that usually, people would think of going according to enha's real age, so it was refreshing to see Jay as the eldest.

to me it just felt right to make Jay the eldest and only pureblood in the coven. I think i based this off of the fact that Jay in real life was obviously brought up in a high class (?) family and environment. He knows a lot of things, is well off, and yet he seems street smart and wise.

with this, i came up with his background--his family being around for ages, somewhat pioneers of the current seoul vampire society, and owners of the disguised vampire establishments. speaking of family, it's implied that Yoongi is Jay's relative.

aside from this, I was thinking, Jay is mostly a loving sweetheart in the fics i've written, so why not make him a loving but emotionally constipated tsundere in this one?

anyway, given the fact that jay is the eldest, only pureblood, and founding father of their coven, i think his disposition was to be expected. he's literally like a grumpy overprotective father. to him his coven is his family, which is why he's skeptical to let strangers get close to the people he loves. especially after the first khan incident. He let khan into the coven, treated him as his own kin, and khan betrayed him by abandoning all the principles and beliefs he stands by, and put their coven in a bad light because of this. I can't really blame him for being on guard and cut throat with accepting new members after this.

HEESEUNG

heejay being 7yearz going on 8yearz in real life is truly the basis of heejay in this fic, and consequently, Heeseung's characterization. much like in real life, i wanted them to have spent a lot of time together, which is why i wrote Heeseung as coming from 1235, which was the Goryeo era. Originally, I wrote Heeseung as coming from the late 13th century, but wanted to align his story with a real historic event. That's why I moved his year to 1235 where there were Mongol invasions, which led to him being injured, and then led to him being turned.

I think it's evident especially with the whole "While Jay is the storm, Heeseung is the calm before that" part, that I wanted to strike a balance with the characterization of heejay. To me it also felt so...idk, couple? so parents of them to be opposites in this way. It was like Tamaki going all out and then there's Kyouya, his silent and supportive right hand man. (from Ouran High School Host Club)

Which is why I leaned into Heeseung's laid back traits in real life and channeled his relaxed and easy going disposition. I just figured it would have been too difficult for Jake if both Jay and Hee were skeptical of him, so i thought let's make Heeseung someone who is a good judge of character, someone who immediately sees the good in Jake and becomes smitten.

I believe Heeseung acted as a bridge more than anything because jayke's bond was honestly the last to form, so he's a mediator in more ways than one.

With regards to the coven, it is mentioned that Heeseung is the second eldest, which means that next to Jay, he's the most respected because #age and #heirarchy and all. Also, no one would dare question Hee because he is after all, Jay's life long partner and lover.

In my mind, Heeseung is very wife in this fic, in the sense that most of the time he is Jay's voice of reason, lending his silent support especially during the times it is most needed. While the coven was founded by Jay, it would be crippled without Heeseung.

JAYHOON CONVO (OUTTAKE)

On the day that Sunghoon told Jake to come to the coven, Heeseung was the only one in the basement. Jay went grocery shopping and Sunghoon bumped into him on the way there. they both make an entrance while bickering

the door swings open and in comes Sunghoon and Jay, at each other’s neck. Figuratively. “You should have told me beforehand!” “Well, I’m telling you now,”

Actually, they were fighting over Jake. The whole conversation goes like this:

"I told him he could join." "Who are you to decide that?" "Oh c'mon, aren't we like allowed to make referrals? like in companies? I'm pretty sure I should be getting a commission for recruiting him." "??? we are not a multi level company. Go bring your pyramid schemes somewhere else. Not to my coven" "But I already told Jake to come over," "You should have told me beforehand!" "Well, I'm telling you now"

their convo sounds pretty funny and sooo jayhoon in my head that i just had to share this even though it didn't make the cut in the fic

HWANGHON BREW

the heart of this fic (only actually partly, but the fact that this fic is named after the cafe make a big difference, no?) I'm not sure where this idea came from, I just figured it would be nice for them to have their own establishment. Like. #made by vampires for vampires. something like that, and thought hm, why not a cafe? so i went on to a name generator and it showed me a bunch of corny names for cafes T^T. I saw the word brew and it kinda stuck. So the next thing i did was to search for the korean words of vampire related things--moon, blood, twilight. And that's how i found the word hwanghon.

I put hwanghon and brew together, decided that i liked the sound of it, and put it as the working title while i was writing. i honestly didn't think that it would be the final title. I was just thinking of replacing it when i thought of something better, but fortunately i was unable to come up with anything that topped it DFAHAHAHA i am also so relieved I kept the title because i think it's so distinct? It has a very nice ring to it and makes it easy for me to search people talking about it on twitter HAHSDHF

here's the logo/symbol of hwanghon brew, and it's exactly as it is described in the fic

a crescent moon with the tips downturned, red rays dripping down from the middle.

the red rays are an allegory to blood, hence why I used the word "dripping" to describe it. also, to me, the downturned crescent moon is a hollistic symbol of vampirisms. it is both a moon, and a pair of fangs. This symbol also plays a big part in the initiation because the necklace's pendant is in the same shape.

anyway, onto the system of hwanghon brew itself. Like Jay explained, the process of blood goes like this: human donations > health organizations > human government > high council > blood banks > vampire establishments (like HB) honestly, i didn't really consume much vampire media. i have never watched twilight or vampire diaries. the only knowledge i have of the collective concept of vampires would be from interview with a vampire, supernatural, a few clips from vampire knight, and a few panels from blood bank.

though i think the fact that i didn't really consume vampire media turned out to be a good thing in the long run, because I eventually had my very own take on the vampire universe and the world building. Though, it's not uncommon to have blood banks and whatnot, i just find it fascinating to have the vampire high council working hand in hand with the human government.

JAKE

oh my sweet Jake. he's just a baby girl, that's all. His characterization here isn't really far off from how i see him in real life? happy go lucky, very determined, absolutely resilient.

besides, i think that these are qualities of a person who can go through so much and come out of it stronger. these are the traits that would enable him to put his foot forward, join the coven, butter up to heejay, and go against a monster like khan.

however, while he is all those things---strong and brave, he is also very hesitant at the same time? He's the type to rethink his actions and mull over his decisions over and over again and question himself if he made the right choice.

he's also very conscious of the people around him, and he has his own insecurities, which to makes him feel more human than any of them, which also makes sense given that he's the youngest vampire.

EYE COLORS

I mention this throughout the fic--their eyes flashing inhuman colors whenever they're either hungry, protective, angry, etc etc. For Jake, it's blue. For Jay, it's red. This small detail isn't really important aside from the fact that only purebloods have red eyes, but I just got this idea from the japanese MV of given-taken. (actually, i rewatched that mv so many times while writing this fic)

GIFTS

it's mentioned in the fic that vampires develop gifts down the road. Jay's is super strength, Heeseung - telepathy, Jungwon - speed, Sunghoon - shapeshifter(?), Sunoo - gravity defiance, Riki - shadow manipulation/teleportation

Honestly, i just got this from the dark moon webtoon because i wanted to add a little flare to it lmao. Given, Jake's power would be fire. Initially, I thought of including his power in the fic. If I did, it would play out like this: jake getting beat up by khan > heejay comes to the rescue > khan puts up a fight, drives them into a corner > jake, livid that khan had hurt heejay, awakens his power and uses fire for the first time to protect them (wow, zuko who?)

but I decided to scrap that idea because I wanted Jay to be indomitable, and also kinda wanted Jake to play into that whole damsel in distress thing

anyway speaking of powers, if anyone's wondering why heeseung didn't just tap into jake's mind to find him, it's because heeseung's telepathy in this universe only works on covenmates. and since jake technically wasn't a member yet, he couldn't reach him.

THE INITIATION

actually, if i remember correctly, this idea came from one of my twt besties and gfs, nina. it makes sense of course, because they're a frat. and frats have initiations and it's just terrorizing new recruits, like Sunghoon said. They reason that it's to assess the new member (especially after someone like khan), they wanted to be more sure of new recruits--whether they'd play dirty just to be part of the coven.

Sunghoon also mentions that it's Riki who suggested to have initiations and that it usually consists of playing games (tag, hide and clap) but with a vampire twist. Not only does this allow the existing members of the coven to assess the new recruits physical abilities (speed, senses, etc.) but it also allows them to asses their decision making.

SUNOO, JUNGWON, AND RIKI

admittedly, I didn't put much details about these three compared to the hyung line for various reasons.

for one, I wanted Sunoo to be a mystery, and figured that would only be effective if I only gave out little information about him, leaving gaps and spaces for the readers to imagine. Which is why I mentioned that aside from Jay, no one really knows about his age or where he came from. (but his backstory is complete in my mind lmao.) also, I wanted Sunoo to be different from the other vampires, which is why he sometimes talks in shakespearean HAJSHA. AND I wanted his character to be different from all the other sunoos I've written. I just really love playing into the opposite of how majority of the fandom perceives him as well.

Jungwon, while being the coven's leader, only makes appearances once in a while. Despite his little screentime (sorry won I'll make it up to you), I wanted to make sure that he came across as reliable, especially since he is the coven's acting leader. Which is why he shows up to remind Jake to feed. To me, while he participates in initiations, he makes up his mind about the new recruits prior to that and acts based on this. He went easy on Jake because he actually liked him and wanted him to be a part of the coven, which is why he played along but gave back Jake's moon necklace in the end.

And Riki. He may seem like a playful vampire who's just there for the vibes, but he is also very perceptive. Like Sunoo, he plays a bigger part than what is implied, but I don't want to give out too much information bc I want to write a prequel HSDFHAHSD but yeah, Riki knows the streets and knows his shit.

well, that's that. Thank you for coming to my ted talk! I really enjoyed writing about my thought process while writing, and where I pulled inspiration from. I still think that I really outdid myself with writing this one and I think the comments I got just prove it. I love Hwanghon Brew with my whole heart and I am beyond happy that I get to share this with people who enjoyed reading it just as much as I had fun writing.

whatever i didn't cover here (like most of their character backgrounds, and khan) I will be including in the prequel. Anyway, speaking of the prequel, I've been told that some readers are curious about the timelines and the backstories of the members. I think if you pay enough attention to detail, you'd be able to gather a few hints about the timelines and their ages.

I do hope that if I ever do push through with it, you would be tuned in as well >< I have actually finished the outline, all that's left is actually writing it. I don't know when because I am unfortunately a busy college senior (writing her thesis and having her internship). But I do hope I get to do it soon because some of you really seem enthusiastic about it and it really warms my heart. Anyway, please consider this a love letter to the readers who enjoyed Hwanghon so much and showered it with so much love.

kpop groups class 1-a listen to because i said so

here are some of my headcanons detailing what kpop groups some of the 1-a students would listen too!!

also i’m terribly sorry for the inactiveness. got diagnosed with autism and dropped out of uni (i’m so much happier now) and am going to pursue my art dreams.

jirou loves day6! prefers k-rock over k-pop but still knows all the best hits of each year. her expert knowledge mainly focuses on second generation groups. it’s as if she’s been spending years preparing for a pop quiz on this. other artists she likes include the rose, xdinary heroes and rolling quartz. she loves boy groups and girl groups equally.

: ̗̀➛ tenya iida

this man is a stan of snsd. tenya is a very cultured man and generally gives me second gen stan vibes. he truly believes ‘into the new world’ changed the trajectory of his life and had the biggest cultural impact of any piece of media in this century. tenya will write an essay arguing this. he also appreciates exo and shinee! hates superjunior (as he should) but hearing lucifer gets his hips shaking side to side.

momo loves classical and instrumental music (her spotify wrapped is just studio ghibli soundtracks) but she can appreciate the occasional k-pop song. she loves female soloists in particular! think iu, taeyeon, chungha, ailee… she knows how to appreciate beautiful female vocals. also has a strong affinity for k-drama soundtracks. the ones with special idol features - you know what i’m talking about. slow, romantic ballads. shows jirou all her favourite ones (jirou thinks they’r kind of boring but listens just for her girlfriend).

izuku loves bts because of the messages in their songs. he finds their story so inspiring. izuku relates to the fact that they built up their legacy from the ground up with nothing but hard work, and that they were ignored for so long. definitely listens to spring day and young forever when he is sad and just sobs (just like me fr). if you knock on his dorm and ask if he’s okay, he will squeak out a response insisting he’s fine. but you can still hear him sobbing into the pillow during the pauses before the next queued songs play. oh and izuku’s bias is namjoon because of how well spoken and intellectual he is, but he admires all members for their passion. oh and and ochako introduced him to twice!! he loves how cheerful their music is.

now, uraraka has devoted her life to twice. she is a diehard twice fan. but she is poor and her only album was a gift from kirishima and she treasures it. her favourite era was dance the night away and her bias is jihyo (this is so intellectual of her). carries a photocard in her phone case. class 1-a surprise ochako with tickets to see them live on one of her birthdays (they piled up all their money) and she just started floating towards the ceiling in shock. then she cried there

mina is in love with ateez!! she loves to learn their dances and appreciates their high energy. also thinks they are the most beautiful men to grace this earth (this is facts). her bias is yeosang. she knows every choreo and it always looks incredible. for school festivals, mina will gather some of her classmates and force them to learn complicated dance choreo to perform in front of everyone. this year it was o.o by nmixx.

shouto undoubtedly listens to loona and is not afraid of admitting it. it’s like the patrick bateman meme - he walks with zero emotion but hi high is blasting in his headphones. however does not know their names, or at least he cannot put name to face. but yes he knows their whole discography. bought an album once and he was shocked at how many inclusions there were (he was expecting just a cd). eventually discovers the loona universe and fan theories and for a week straight it was all shouto spoke to his friends about. they got so annoyed they blocked the word loona from their social medias temporarily so it wouldn’t set him off on a spiral.

: ̗̀➛ katsuki bakugo

hmm.. katsuki loves dreamcatcher. this man has got superior taste. i feel like katsuki would mainly listen to rock music and hip-hop. so other artists he may appreciate are dean, dpr live and epik high. but sometimes you can hear red velvet coming from his dorm and if you question him about it he will scream at you (if it plays when katsu is drunk you can even catch at a peek at him doing the choreo when he thinks no one is looking).

: ̗̀➛ eijiro kirishima

also a cultured man as kirishima is a fan of twice. he joins the girls when they had ‘girly’ sleepovers and learns the dances from them (this headcanon applies to all their ‘girls night’ sleepovers. kiri makes them so much fun). this is especially fun during award shows, where they all gather around a laptop, eyes wide and glossy as they wait for their favourite groups to hopefully be announced as winners. definitely films the dances on tiktok and also shows them to katsuki later. based on mina’s recommendation, he would probably listen to ateez too!

: ̗̀➛ denki kaminari

i sense a neverland. this man is obsessed with (g)-idle. denki has a crush on soyeon (he is me). denki cried when soojin left (i did too) but will take this to his grave. also loves stayc. he most certainly owns a few albums. he prefers girl groups over boy groups because he is a bit of a perv (sorry denki i love you!!). but also because denki believes girl groups have superior music. his most played song of all time is tell me by the wonder girls.
