06.22: Child's Play

We've reached the end of Season 6! Shirley's play -- "Murder in Mother Goose Land," which combines gore and fairytales -- may graduate from her night school class to the big stage when she gets the opportunity to present the project in front of Michael Merrit, a big time Broadway producer. Shirley ropes the whole gang into performing it with her, and though rehearsals go smoothly, everything falls apart when she learns Merrit is about to return to New York and she has to put the play on tonight or miss him. She tells Squiggy to gather everyone at Cowboy Bills and then meet them at the theatre, but the comment is lost in translation, and Squiggy ends up believing that they should stay at the restaurant and perform for Merrit there. While the gang puts on the play in front of whom they believe is Merrit, Laverne and Shirley are forced to put the play on by themselves in front of a packed audience. Will their dreams of Hollywood fame finally come true?
