POI 03x08: Endgame

I was really not feeling this one. Obviously they’re working up towards killing off Carter and I kind of resented that they didn’t do the backstory with her ex until it was “needed” to up the emotion of her death. But I do appreciate them setting up that her kid is going to be safe and well-cared for.

I also could have been reading too much into this based on what I’ve read about how she left the show, but I felt like Taraji Henson’s performance was kind of flat. She’s such an incredible actor usually but I wasn’t feeling the emotion of the culmination of Carter’s pursuit of HR.

I liked Reese telling Finch to get Bear a bulletproof vest.

I liked Elias coming out of the basement to theatrically threaten Yogorov.

This was good.

Eh. Idk. What do you think? Am I way off base here?

So I just rewatched 03x08 of criminal minds and I think this is one of the creepiest episodes, but what I don’t understand is why the detective they’re working with doesn’t think to mention the restaurant when he clearly knows the unsub. Like you said his name, they were like “you know him?” And you were like “yeah”. He’s a cannibal who owns a restaurant, did you not think that was relevant information? And that he was feeding the searchers? I’m annoyed and grossed out

SWEET DREAMS AND FLYING MACHINES - a 03x08 coda

I've posted a new fic on ao3 - rated E.

The past becomes a thunderous echo when TK misses his mom’s funeral after his plane makes an emergency landing, while Carlos spirals thinking he’ll never see TK again. Safe on the ground, TK and Carlos hold each other up as they face the day’s trauma and begin a future that is somehow even more crowded with love.

Carlos bounces out of the hanger coltishly, his limbs loose as jelly, heading in the vague direction towards which the T.S.A. agent wafted an arm. It takes him a hideous moment to clock TK, alone inside an expanding circle made of fellow first responders and passengers wearing shock blankets, bewildered and milling around. There he is – directly in the sunshine, glowing gold and alive. Carlos stops because the sight of him takes his breath. His heartbeat pounds in his ears. He doesn’t even feel himself launch into a run, but the warm air thumps against him as he moves faster than he has ever moved – his limbs firm now, muscles powerful, carrying him to the center of his world. Carlos runs, and as he runs the heartbeat in his ears changes to words. He hears his voice and he hears TK’s, whooshing in the wind.
