cas’ character arc wasn’t about becoming “more human,” it was about realizing that "human” things like emotions and free will and a deep appreciation for humanity make him a better angel
#like the other angels were WRONG that's the POINT#lucifer refused to love humanity more than god and he was cast out by god. castiel refused to love god or the other angels over humanity#therefore actually making him the BEST angel#and he is punished for it#but the point is that everyone is WRONG. he isn't becoming more human and he doesn't need to just be human because he's a bad angel#the traits that other angels scoff at are strengths#and i know we don't speak of the finale but i do think. at least in the way i've personally extrapolated from the bs 1 sentence cas ending#is that he was finally allowed to use all that love for humanity to help redesign a heaven that will actually serve humans well#(ik there's something to be said about the flaws in new heaven which i agree with but like.#canonically we're supposed to believe that cas and jack Finally Got Heaven Right. which would have just. made cas SO happy)#angel!cas truthing#idk the angel!cas truthing on the dash has made me feel bold today#mae.txt#castiel
