The farmers are Cain and Jack, who have no last name. Thats also fake names they use, because theyre not human so they have to blend in somehow. (Safairry and Rarify are their actual names, but those are, like, weird names)

Bos full name is Bo Davey Wolfe-Barabell (The Wolfe is from a father figure he had, whos last name he uses when he doesnt want pll finding him thru the barabell last name)

Cain and Jack are open to all sorts of experiences, and farming sounded fun. Plus, where they used to live was lackluster in activities

Allan finished college before they moved away, and took notice of job openings around the farm’s general area. Hes not active in farmwork, but plays a part

Bo decided itd be best to honor Rodney’s (previous farm owner) wishes. The towns also a familiar area, and its MUCH easier to avoid guilds.

Cain and Jack are good friends with Sam, Abby, Sebastian, and Victor! Bo is too.

Jack is specifically good friends with Marnie, Shane, Sophia, Haley, and Alex (+A majority of the Pelican Town guild members)

Cains also good friends with Gunther, Willy, Marlon, Magnus, and Lewis

Bo’s good friends with Elliott, Olivia, Linus, Andy, Pam, and a majority of the town vendors (Not pierre or clint, ESPECIALLY MORRIS.)

Allan’s on good terms with Elliott, Leah, Sophia, Gus, Pierre, Evelyn+George, and the moms of the town.

None of them really have a crush on anyone, but Bo has shown signs of liking Elliott and Olivia, while Allan gets a little nervous around Leah

Cain has a boyfriend from another country, who’s name is Bob. he is non-human (a demon lmFsd) like Cain and Jack.

Jack is a no go with romance.

Allan and Bo have each other, while Bo also has Sam and Lance.

Bo is definitely NOT homesick. He maybe misses Evotte, a country he used to live in, but whats gone is gone.

Cain and Jack also miss evotte, but theyve adjusted.

Allan misses his college town (he specifically misses his ex girlfriend)

Bo has no clue who his father is, and only sees his mom when she makes Scotzerian news headlines. He had a good relationship with Amelia, Rodney, and their two kids. Theyre basically like his family (technically his cousins but it felt like his non-extended family). He’s only met his half sibling ONCE, who is from western scotzers and on his dad’s side. Jazkub, the sibling in question, doesnt like bo. Bo thinks its fun to mess with him. He also had a good relationship with a scientist from his old school’s town, who was basically crazed but treated bo like his son (occasionally let the nickname ‘son’ or ‘sport’ slip)

Cain has an ok relationship with his parents while he was still living, and so did jack.

Allan was an orphan, so its not like he really knew his family. There was a family who would invite him over for dinner frequently, and he was well acquainted with them.

Cain is good in mining and combat, and god forbid he fishes or forages.

Jack’s also good in combat, so-so in mining, but really good at foraging!

Bo’s good in combat, fishing, and farming. he’s okay in mining and foraging. he does most of the work with the plants and other things, so its a given.

Allan can handle a sword, due to some basic lessons by bo, but hes good in farming and foraging. HE CANNOT FISH. Hes afraid of large bodies of water, so fishing is basically impossible for him.

i think if spiderton is holding a fire lance and itd hurt his hands i think he should wear some sort of gloves. i think my friend had an idea like that but like if the fire lance is a Fire Lance its probably a incredibly hot one (maybr its material is metal so its straight up burning) and spidertons paws are a little burnt here and there from having to handle it casually. maybe as time passed though its just a normal lance now and for gong his scythe is probably a special one? obviously DUH look at it in the second game but he can make tornados with it somehow. perhaps although he has to swing it around REAL rough to actually make a tornado maybe it also has something inside the scythe that releases incredible amounts of air to make that tornado while also working as a scything weapon im not sure about beetletons weapon bc i feel like theres not a lot but i think its ironic how he has a dream weaver (a club that gives guys sleepyness or something) when beetleton seems the opposite to make people to go sleep. hes loud and he probably woke up spiderton 10 or so times and im not too sure how itd work but... it makes people go to sleep because beetleton really hits it hard that it knocks someone out for a moment. simple to see

I just watched Statdust again and I don't know if I want an AU with Kidge, Plance or Allurance

so, what are your favourite tropes/aus, and if you wrote a fic, what would the concept be owo

ooh favorite tropes!! i havent read much the past few months ngl but i usually value friendships and good characterization in fics more than anything else as a general rule. im gonna list them out in an attempt to sound more comprehensive:

1. Found family, regardless of whether the members involved were gung ho or very tsundere abt this relationship

2. Enemies to friends (to lovers sometimes but that depends)

3. Childhood friends

4. Disaster Man Becomes Amazing but Reluctant Dad Figure

5. VIGILANTES

6. HEISTSSSS

7. Sloooooowwwwww Burn. almost to the point that if a romance doesnt have slow burn or an already well established relationship im gonna find it hard to ship it hdjhdj (ive read fics where the burn was beautifully slow and so well done i was dying by the end and it all happened in under 8k. honestly mad props to that author i dont remember who it was ;v;)

theres a couple more but i cannot remember what they were for the life of me

as for the fic writing concept:

back in like 2016-2017 when i wasnt allowed a second of internet access for over a year and was handed one of those old old brick phones in case my parents wanted to call me, i typed out a whole 20k+ fic into the notes of that phone (it didnt have enough space so id had to delete the first half orzzzz). bc it was 2016-2017 the fic was for,,,,voltron, before season 2 was ever announced.

(im gonna summarize it like hell bc there was so much lore) this fic starts off with keith dying when he got hit by a truck on his way to get groceries BUT ITS OKAY. it was set in an au where a person is reincarnated 3-4 years after they die. the beginning is in keiths pov till his death and then the rest is from lance's (with sprinkles of alluras). theyre uni students and live in the same apartment. allura and shiro are profs (theres no ships in this, but theres also a possible klance ending bc i love the idea of one particular plot twist).

allura is also leader of secret organisation altea from 10,000 years that got destroyed but she built it ground up. galra are time traveling organisation that destroyed altea. they keep attempting to take over the world by stealing alfors superior time machine plans (and plans for a particular lion-themed ass kicking robot :3) that almost all got destroyed too but shenanigans happened and allura has them, and shes trying to complete the design

allura is like best friends with shiro and by extension the rest of them and incidentally she has tech that detects galra time travel shenanigans (i had the concept and everything worked out for this too. i had so much time on my hands). for technical reasons she cant time travel and also seeing these guys so heartbroken even 2 weeks later is v painful. she tells them abt altea. they travel to the future. yes they meet future keith. yes they follow alluras (and future alluras) instructions and find out that keith was essential to galras takeover plan. as in the galra were killing keith bc they got word from time travel shenanigans that he'd be the reason they fall (im summarizing this so so so much orz)

also ptsd often passes on through reincarnations so Keith is terrified of rain (itd been raining when he died) and trucks and all this exposure to the rest of the hooligans keep giving him flashes of memories from his previous life

they come back with keith. theres a v good reason why and summarizing all this is so painful bc theres so much cool time travel shenanigans shit i was so proud of that im erasing in the summary but its been 5 years and it is 5 am rn but i am so so excited rn i want to write it.

Im all for these rewrites but the only way I think itd actually be good is if Alluras character was remodeled. I think her character was done terribly from the beginning in leu of having a "strong" female lead(even though they didn't make her a strong character) and I just want an Allura that does more than mess up, fix her mess up, and mistreat people.

I’m trying hard not to be overly critical as I know that the writers did have some constraints with what they could do and time, but…

Considering there were thirteen episodes I don’t feel like any character had any actual real development… except for Hunk. I very, very much enjoyed Hunk this season ♥ But of all the characters in season eight, Allura, Lance and Shiro easily suffered the most.

Allura, ending death not withstanding because that is a pedestal all its own, was regulated to a plot device to function as a Honevera-tracker, a juxtaposition and “explanation” for Haggar’s own darkness, bridge between the old Altea and the new Alteans and then an attempted (but badly done) love interest.

Lance was pigeonholed into a love interest and that was pretty much it. I did like the Allurance pairing (that was the ship I boarded) but what they did to it? Not so much. Besides that point, Lance is so much more than just a love interest. All of that development from earlier seasons, him learning to support the team and finding confidence in the talents he does have, were pretty much wiped out. I loved his and Keith’s moments but the fact that it was constantly Keith giving the uplifting speeches? Read that again and yeah xD

And Shiro. Oh, Shiro. This poor man was literally made a background character. I think his entirety of season eight can pretty much be summed up in “someone is trying to break into the bridge!” The only time we really saw him was during the arm wrestling and I ask, truly, what exactly did that add? I liked the Beta Traz warden coming back but otherwise? I’m with the Atlas team – he had a robot arm, how is that fair? Only part I really adored him in was when he was getting yelled at by the Clear Day head guy and all of those exchanges.

My fic, should I write it (and it’s looking like that’s a very real possibility) isn’t going to fix everything. I can’t. That’s impossible without rewriting pretty much the entire season (and cough, a lot of season seven too xDD)

What I can do though is bring Allura back to her core character (the one I love to write ♥) that we saw in earlier seasons and bring back a team that is actually that, a team, and work with that in the capacity of the clusterfuck season eight gave us and ended with. This certainly still won’t be a cure all, but it will fix the big sticking points for me for Lance and Allura and their endings.

Poison-Wielding Fugitive Chapter 57

“Urgh… that was intense…”

Celes fell unconscious from having Arleaf’s cooking in her mouth for a mere 20 seconds. Fortunately, we were able to pull it out before she swallowed. Thank goodness that Muu’s hands are so surprisingly stretchy.

“Muu.”

Well, after we got the food out, I crushed the remaining Hamburg steak in my hand. Then, we got Celes to take an antidote and we also healed her, so all in all, she took practically no damage. It might’ve been bad if we were any slower. If not actually dying, she would’ve been laid up for at least two weeks.

“Like I told you, you’d be risking your life tasting my food…” “I apologize… but Cohgray, how in the world do are you able to eat all of it…?” “It’s a quirk of mine. Some people call me the Poison-Eater.” “… I have heard of that name before, but to think that person is you, Sir Cohgray. You truly are astonishing. By the way, what exactly was that?” “It’s my cooking. I was born with a unique skill which causes all of my cooking to become some sort of poison.” “I—I see… so, that was why you weren’t cooking.” “Right…” “Forgive me for being so tactless…”

Celes apologizes before standing up. It’s not like I eat Arleaf’s food because I like her for her cooking or anything. I mean, she is cute, and I do like her. But there’s a whole slew of different reason why I get her to cook for me. It’s a little embarrassing though.

‘Leave the misconception be.’

I’m super worried about that, but it’s not like I can explain the truth to her either.

“Feel free to take your time, okay?” “No, I would like to avoid staying any longer. We mustn’t dally. Let us go.”

Celes then gallantly strides forwards and into the mineshaft. Along the way, she equipped her gas mask. Honestly, I’m kinda uneasy about whether she’s really fine or not, but I guess we can’t help but follow her… With that, we headed deeper into the gallery.

I wondered if it’d be tight inside, but the tunnel stretches five meters across. There’s more than enough room to move around. We walked in only a little bit… but it kinda feels like we’ve entered a dungeon.

“We shall be going deep inside. Brace yourselves. The shape of this dungeon shifts every so often, thus maps are not all that useful. Be careful.” “Understood.”

It’s a space warping–type dungeon, eh? Like the swamp dungeon, it’s rather well-lit in here, but not blindingly so. The path ahead is long… the shaft seems to stretch on forever.

“There may be toxic gas in the air, so be aware.” “Alright. I’ve got some Ranger-like skills, so I’ll take the lead.” “It would be better for me to… but if you wish to, Cohgray, go ahead. Do your best to be careful.” “Gotcha.”

I’m up front, following behind me are Celes, Muu, and Arleaf. Veno senses the monsters for me and I point them out. Celes and Arleaf quickly attacks them with Muu and I assisting. The monsters we encounter are much like the ones on the mountain, but in different colors. We encountered all sorts of monsters; from Wistaria Rocks and Bordeaux Rock Golems to little golems like Cyclamen Pink Iron, Plum Bronze Golem, and Ash Grey Silvermen. And since I’ve got both Celes and Arleaf killing them for me, it’s hard to get a feel for how strong these monsters are.

‘It would not be too difficult for thee. We are still at the beginning, aye?’

When there are pockets of toxic gas, Veno shows me how to detour around them or how to vent it out before advancing forward. The gas smells rather floral, hey?

‘It is a little questionable to relate poison with flowers, but so far, things are going well. Thou seemst to have become used to this already.’

I guess so. Not to mention, I’m getting a whole lot of experience from this. Every time a monster is defeated, I see my levels tick up. Freakin’ sweet. Praise be to power leveling.

It’s going swimmingly, almost as if it’s easier than the swamp dungeon. Veno’s Mapping really helps too. The dungeon doesn’t change its shape too often, so it’s actually quite useful. Suddenly, we encountered a bunch of rock-type monsters a lot more frequently.

We’ve got Silver White Lance Mithrilmen and Shadow Blue Hammer Magic Silvermen.

… talk about a long name.

‘Thou needn’t worry about their colors; simply regard them as Mithrilmen and Magic Silvermen.’

Oh, you’ve got a point. Anyway, their equipment seems to be a part of their bodies. Not only is the experience is good, but the ores in their bodies are what we’re here for.

“Hmpf! Is that all you’ve got?!”

As Celes sweeps wide with her sword, the monsters swing their weapons. The clash makes a shrill noise.

“Aqua Shot!”

Arleaf said it’s dangerous to use fire in a mineshaft, so she switched to attacking with water magic. It’s pretty dang strong, so even if she doesn’t kill them outright, her magic still helps obstruct the enemies’ movement.

“Muuuuu!”

Muu puts up a good fight with its axe, but nowhere near the level of the two ladies.

“Swing your hip out more!” “Muu!”

Muu’s attacks get stronger with pointers from Celes. And me? Well, I’ve got a crossbow lent to me by Wayne and it does a good job too. But it’s kinda plain and it doesn’t really kill. I could let out a poisonous mist, but I’ll likely hit Celes and Arleaf with it too. The only other poison that would be good would be my new Mollifying Poison, I guess. They’re rocks, so they’re bound to be hard. I get the feeling that Paralysis Poison wouldn��t do a heck of a lot on them.

‘It is not the case that it is ineffective, but unfortunately, thy poison is more akin to living creatures. Thou must increase your poison vocabulary.’

Then what’s a good poison on these rock-types?

‘There are silencing-type poisons which lowers defense. Silencing refers to the obstruction of their magical abilities, reducing the amount of mana in their system. It would be fairly effective against these monsters. Of course, anything to lower their hardness would be another option. Other than that, perhaps something to induce confusion would be good. However, it would not work unless the poison gets circulated in their systems.’

That’s hard to picture in my head. I mean, for an ex-software engineer from modern Japan like me, I’m basically told to imagine a whole new concept.

‘Nay, they are but stones and ores after all. That means they have a body. If you inject poison into their bodies, then it would circulate in their system.’

What about monsters without a physical body then? Like spirits or something?

‘Then mists would be effective against them, much like the same reason why holy water is effective.’

Hmm… there’s a myriad of different ways to use poison, huh?

“Wha—?!”

Celes squats down low in preparation of something. What the heck is happening? Then suddenly… the walls deep inside get wider and wider. What? Is the shaft shapeshifting right before my eyes? As the thought crosses my mind, something draws closer with a loud ka-thunk, ka-thunk. They sound like the footsteps of something heavy.

“Seems like we’re lucky today.”

Celes flashes a fearless grin and readies her sword. For some reason though, I don’t think there’s anybody that would agree with her statement…

and i know gen isnt a ship but it tied with klance at 6 (plus whatevers in the prompt collection) which was a surprise

Character breakdown: man if theres a way to get ao3 to show me ALL the stats, i dont know it. but.

keith - 25 (shocker) shiro - 23 lance - 21 pidge - 17 hunk - 16 allura - 12 matt - 12 and then coran and sam are at 4, and zarkon ats 3 and presumably many others are at 3 or less

Characters that had the main focus: well ~9 were from keiths pov, and ~5 each from shiro and lances povs. i think i also had ~5 from multiple points of view. its safe to say that keith has my heart tho lol

Specifics:

Best/worst title? Best title: i still like “at the end of many worlds.” i weirdly still like “Blackbird” too even if it has nothing to do with anything... Worst title: “Rest.” :/ also like all of the abandoned wips bc i didnt care. and “Keith & Lance's Island Adventure.″ some of my zine fic titles were also... bad. im bad at titles.

Best/worst first line?

Best: Keith & Lance's Island Adventure. ok the title is bad but this line? this really sets the tone for whole fic. you know what youre getting yourself into here.

When Pidge invited Keith to a fully-funded graduation party aboard the Holt family boat (“the smaller one, anyway,” she’d said), this is not exactly what he'd pictured: three of them standing on a wobbly dock, packed bags at their feet, sky cloudy and gray, while the Holt siblings stand on a little ledge off the back of the boat and deny entry.

Worst: ive got two for this lol

at the end of many worlds: even i have to read this a couple times to figure out what i was trying to say. at least you know youre in for pain...

Keith’s mother shows up to interrupt movie night often enough that, this time, Keith almost doesn’t realize anything’s wrong. Almost, because she’s silhouetted by the movie, but she’s clutching her arm and panting for breath, and in the thin edge of light around her he sees a wet and vibrant red.

Divergence: because all your friends being dead is EXACTLY like losing at dodgeball. yeah, theres a reason i abandoned this one.

Hunk always hated playing dodgeball. Not because he was bad at it--though he was--but because he always ended up the last one standing, and therefore the only target for the entire other team. It was due to a tendency to hang unnoticed in the back, he knew, but that didn't change the sickening, empty feeling of looking around and realizing there's no one left but him, and there's no way he can win. Only wait for the inevitable.

This, Hunk decides, is a lot like that, only, like, a billion times worse.

Best/worst last line?

Best: The Pining-Plant. there are a few others that were cute too but this one is also good out of context so

And then the pod swishes open and he's scrambling to catch Pidge as she stumbles out. She clings to his arms to steady herself and his heart swells.

"Falling for me again, huh?" he asks, and she groans loudly.

"Let me go, I'm getting back in the pod," she says, and he laughs. He doesn't let go, and neither does she.

Worst: if im bad at titles, im worse at endings. most are bad. i suspect the ending to “Rest” is terrible but i cant bring myself to even open that shit again so: Believe Me. if weather were a recurring theme in this fic, itd be fine, but as is its just... a weird note to end the fic on lmao

Hunk rocks back on his heels. "We aren't counting this as our official first date, right?"

"I dunno," Keith says, and now he smiles at the rain instead of frowning. It shows no sign of easing up, but whatever—they're soaked anyway. "This seems pretty good to me."

“...All right.” If nothing else, it’ll make a good story. And, Hunk had to admit—he’s pretty happy with how it’s turned out, rain and all.

But next time, he's double-checking the forecast, just in case.

General questions:

Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?

more than i expected! considering ive been in grad school all year!! i wrote about the same amount wordcount-wise in 2017 which i spent only half in school so. idk how i managed it.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted last year?

the anonymous fic was a surprise but im not gonna talk about that lol. otherwise... nah, its all been my usual stuff.

blackbird, probably. i like working on that one. summer heat was also fun, id sort of forgotten about it bc it was a zine fic but coming back to it, i really liked it. likewise with third time’s the charm. and i like t6p a lot even if i kinda hate drawing for it :’)

"Lance!" Keith yelps, barely rescuing the ring from falling into the sand with them. Lance pushes himself up on his arms, silhouetted by the sun and glowing with it.

"Really?" he asks breathlessly.

"Yeah," Keith says, and maybe he should've prepared something to say, that's a thing people do, right? Hell, he's winging it. "I know we can't stay here on Earth forever, 'cause we're paladins, and there's still stuff out there we gotta do. And I know you probably want to stay because this is your home—but you're my home, and if we gotta go, at least you'll have me, good or bad." He grins crookedly. "Or rocket science. Whatever happens, I'll be there."

Hardest story to write?

well t6p gets a shoutout, but its not the writing thats the hard part for that. uhhh ive struggled with parts of blackbird. i remember k&l’s island adventure giving me a LOT of trouble, i think i posted late lol

Easiest/most fun story to write?

anything short uhhh for all the infinite realities, i kind of just sat down the other day (actually i was in bed but) and was like “im gonna write this” and then in the morning i just sat down and wrote it in one go. i dunno if id call it fun, but it was easy. t6p is super fun to write but, as mentioned, drawing it sucks.

Did any stories shift your perceptions of the characters?

no... my perceptions probably have shifted but not due to anything i wrote in particular. i did talk myself into liking allurance with a prompt fill, though, but im not sure that was 2018...

Most overdue story?

all the infinite realities lmao. at the end of many worlds needed that happy ending. and another shoutout to t6p, because thats been going on over a year and im still nowhere.

does posting my abandoned wips count? ive still got some of those hanging around... blackbird was a bit of a risk bc my last longfic was written while i was unemployed and out of school, so like i had the time for it, and now i kinda dont. still chugging tho. ateomw b/c of all the death but it turns out i really like writing whump woops. and writing any sort of kissing always feels like a risk bc i suck at it but im getting better lol... i hope...

Hhhhnnghh I wanna just share a bunch of blah about my ocs n their story so uh hh

(uwu that's my first time using the read more thingy neato)

So I would want to animate or make animatics in a series, with season and all, though I know this would be exceedingly difficult (would take a long time, would have to find voice actors, I dont have money to pay said VAs, my art style isnt super consistent sometimes, etc.) but it's still how I'd want to do it

So if I could actually make it a show, I'd probably have about 3 seasons, with about 20 episodes in each.

Season one would be establishing the main peeps, the world they live in, and what they are doing. Itd probably be more of just Lance n the others travelling and solving cases as they do so.

Two would probably give info on the pantheon and there would be more travelling but less cases, more of finding clues to Autems location, finding ancient ruins to search for any way to cure those corrupted for lack of a better word) by Autem, and also Character Development uwu-

Also it would expand upon the damage these 'corrupted' deities, as things get stranger (birds n the ocean [+ whatever other deities I decide should have a bad time] get Fucked Up and the weird stuff gets weirder)

Three would be them finding Autem and trying to get things back to normal, shit would go down and while the corrupted deities would be mostly fixed, it wont all be gone just like that *snaps*, and theyll need therapy (both for their mental and emotional states and for some physical) and idk maybe maybe Arsen and Lance realize they're in love maybe maybe-

I think there would be an epilogue too, just something nice and calm, everyone healing and things starting to go back to normal... and then I'm gonna pull a fucky wucky and Mwahaha Autems still alive bitch but there will be no follow up on that (hed just be the the background or smth lmao)

See, I'd love to make it a show and prolly upload it to youtube (bc I do Not Want It On Any Actual TV, thatd just feel.. idk its feel weird) bc? Bitch i would LOVE a fandom for something i create. Itd be great. Imagine you go to Ao3 and theres a tag for some thing YOU made!! Thatd be so cool!! Imagine someone writing fics for your characters because they liked them that much!!! That's the dream (unless its smut, in which case ehhhh I'm very much good) Imagine having a TV Tropes page for your creation!!!! How cool!!!

But yeah, while itd be awesome, I do realize how much work would be put into a show, which is why I probably wont be doing anything big with this story for a while, atleast not until I am more comfortable with my art, have motivation, and etc.

So this takes place in a convoluted fantasy world im too lazy to explain but keith & lance were raised together in a kind of training environment from age 5 to 18 and are super close/inseperable. (Not together romantically, they r pining) anyway They just work together seamlessly and when they start to be "rented out", people usually take them both at the same time. They become pretty famous among the upper classes. Shiro is a rich veteran with a savior complex

* who wants to take keith away from this lifestyle bc he reminds him of his dead brother(not romo sheith im sorry i love the idea of platonic baby bro keith). But keith refuses to go without lance. Anyway they are taken to live with shiro (who also has pidge hunk and allura under his care) and idk where this was going but w/e the main concept is new high society slowburn klance who have to deal with gross ppl who used to rent them out and also friendly sexual intimacy – > romo context

* but it could also work as shklance if thats what ur into. I mean itd be more high stakes in general + keith getting dped and spitroasted at some point

i mean my issue is SHOULD the docs daughter get a unique design? like.... shes not a character. she exists, in the world, you can fight her in the big city and post game you can go to the little town where she and rhia live with Doc and you can interact with her about the stuff that happened (as she has returned home following the Chaos thing) but like.... shes not a haracter??? unless the ~post game~ involves her in some way, which it could, id be down for her being relevant in the post game, though idk how. esp considering i dunno what the post game would be. like... theres a couple of ideas. Hunting CEO, hunting Rhia, and finding the e4 member that fucked off. because like, the WHOLE reason you can have Rhia/Elliot as an e4 member is because someone left and on short notice they called elliot to fill in (and he could pass that duty to rhia in reconcile ending)

so like. what. docs daughter is only relevant to a Rhia hunt, which also wouldnt work in a reconcile end because Rhia’s in the e4 and shes fine. in an end where she and elliot dont make up, she COULD vanish, but i feel like itd be way more fun to have her whereabout be unknown in that case. besides, where’d she go? probably Unova to stay with the man whose legally her father but bear in mind theres fake paperwork involved. or shes out hunting CEO, which she can easily do anyway (though branching cutscenes in a Hunt CEO route based on whether shes there or not might be fun)

one idea is, Hunt CEO, and the docs daughter is in charge. why? her dear dads request. because now she knows he was in team whatsit (because of his ENTIRE FAMILY shes the only one who didnt know, poor thing) and she wants to get rid of all thats left of it so her dad can live a normal life, or something. she calls you to her home town, and she talks you through it, you go on a couple of lil trips around the region to fight team whatsit members. and you might encounter Rhia doing the same thing. like on one occasion, she saves your hide. her outfits change based on the end (which would be demonstrated in the Reconcile/Split cutscene with Elliot) so you’d have a visual signifier to tell them apart. but her purpose is different, too. sorta. in reconcile, her hunting down Team Whatsit is part of The Deal she’s made, like she’s doing this for the police. in split, shes doing it for herself. fun lil split. shed probably show up when you finally confront CEO at the end of the post game. the docs daughter would be there too. the doc is nowhere to be seen.

maybe CEO even kidnaps the docs daughter. that’d be fun. itd convince the Doc to join her in reforming team whatsit after its shattering at your hands, and it could also convince Rhia to come back. of course, it does the opposite. DOC is MIA for the postgame (in that hes in Extensive Talks with the Police) and Rhia is fucking livid at the daughters kidnapping, no matter what. she’d contact you for the final bit. you find her where you’d normally find the daughter. no matter what ‘end’ you got, shes dressed for a Fucking Fight. like, the outfits would be different to reflect the reconcile/split, but shes out for blood.

oh dude. i also wanna play up the ‘pokemon can hurt ya’ thing here. like, you and rhia approach CEO. you can see the daughter in a cell nearby. Rhia tells you to free her while she deals with CEO. heres the thing - ceo KNOWS rhia is probably better than her in a fight. she also knows you’re better than her in a fight, youve beaten her before. so what she does is she tries to take you BOTH out before you can summon pokemon. uses like, a carnivine to whack yall around. sends Rhia flying off screen to the daughters absolute wails. wraps you up and holds you high. shes not going to let you two ruin her plans. if you wont join her, you will be Removed. then. idk. legendary saves your ass. your bff appears. thatd be fun. idk i just like the idea of rhia, regardless of route, just getting fucking wasted for Drama. not something where Lance goes ‘move’ and is implied to have hyper beamed a guy whose totally fine, like you see a woman standing tall and proud and then shes vanished for like..... 5 minutes and all you can tell of her condition is the only other person in the room wailing while youre focused on the Big Bad.

then you beat Ceo with the power of your Divine Purity Of Heart and you knock her out, so that you can call the police. but they arrive very shortly after, before you can. Rhia, over in a corner, near curled into a ball, sent out a message to them while you fought CEO before she passed out. the Doc is there. you free the daughter and she and him run to Rhia’s side while the police take you aside and thank you while carrying CEO away.

no matter what end she got, you will go home and be called by the docs daughter back to her place. when you arrive, Rhia is there, with a few bandages but otherwise alright, and wearing her regular (per end) outfit. and then some gushy shit.

though i also like the idea of you directly saving her life too. not just in the ‘oh i stopped CEO and she wouldve killed you if i hadnt’ im talking like ‘took a bullet for you babe’. though maybe Elliot should fill that role. ooh, that makes sense. means regardless of the ending they got (Reconcile/split) he comes to save her. like, rhia gets knocked away and you get a nice visceral thud off screen that sounds pretty brutal. daughter screams. youre frozen in place (or held in place, haha, there you go), and CEO taunts you and the aughter over it. the camera pans over to Rhia struggling to get up, and you see CEO prepare to deal Rhia a (probably) fatal blow. and then, BAM. its elliot. hes here. he’s in the way. he’s on the ground. Rhia screams. daughter screams. CEO screams. you scream too, probably, but less because of elliot and more because the carnivine was so surprised it just dropped you. not far, mind you, like half a metre, but you fall on your ass in surprise. Rhia freaks out immediately, like shes losing her shit, because even if this is split ending where she hates elliot, elliot just ‘took a bullet’ for her, holy shit, holy shit, oh my god, oh fuck, oh fuck, is he ok, oh my fucking god.

and then she makes eye contact with you. you nod. you charge CEO while shes distracted. a pokemon battle ensues. you cant see whats happening while youre battling, of course, because thatd be Ridiculously Unfeasible (beyond how unfeasible this shit is already). you fight CEO. she totters backward and recalls her carnivine (her last pokemon, like itd be programmed in that the pokemon that wrapped you up is the last pokemon she sends out). and shes furious. and she actually reaches for one of the doc’s daughters pokemon, which she’d comandeered when she kidnapped her. and she summons it. its the pokemon that Rhia gave to the daughter. it takes one look around. it fucks up the CEO’s day. just. whap. there she goes. seeya darl. immediate karma. it roars loud, nigh shakes the building.

you run forward and grab the cell key from CEO. you free the daughter. she sprints to Rhia and Elliots side, and you join them.

is elliot ok? probably not. not like, dead, but like, Fucked Up. in fact, itd be cool if this affected split route, because it means he cant perform e4 duties, and rhia’d take charge. meaning theres a change in the e4 in the post game if you do it. fuck. fuck imagine that. only in split ending though. him being out of action in reconcile doesnt affect the e4 because Rhia already took that role on his behalf. but like. hes fucked up. the daugher is a doctor, shes working on him, you grabbed her pokeballs while you grabbed the key and she summons like a chansey and shit. everyones frantic. theres closure to the rhia/elliot thing, esp for split route, because now rhia has to accept that elliot has changed. on some level. hence she then takes his e4 spot like she does in reconcile. that’d be sweet. dunno how itd really impact a reconcile route though. idk thats dumb.

then the police come and they take elliot and CEO away. they came with some docs because they expected this wouldnt be pretty. maybe DOC is there. he and his daughter/s can have a brief reunion. you all leave, Rhia leaning on doc and daughter.

then the daughter calls you to somewhere else. like, the city pokemon center. you meet her there, and she takes you to the hospital. you get to go further in. elliots there. hes smiling. depending on rhia end, shes either at his side (reconcile) or standing outside the door (split)

theres not much to it after that but i do like the idea of the rhia/elliot thing progressing. involve the daughter as a supporting character. though again, it is weird to continue rhia/elliot past a reconcile route. split route is fun, because it forces rhia to acknowledge she was wrong about him on some level. but with reconcile, she already DID that, when elliot refused to run away in the skyscraper. so theres no point in having the revelation again. hmmmm. maybe it completes the thing for her. because even in reconcile, shes hesitant about elliot, shes not sure if him being ‘good’ was temporary or not. and him taking the shot for her just proves it to her that yea, elliot is a good guy, he did bad shit but hes a good guy, he’s changed, hes a better person. like, no matter what happened in the main story or back story, elliot IS a better person by the end of the game as a whole. at least by Rhia’s metric, though i imagine the player would agree that him fleeing from a person in need to saving that same persons life is a positive change, regardless of the fact that him saving rhia gets his ass so thoroughly whooped hes out of commission for the rest of the game (which is admittedly just post game sandbox but STILL you know)

idk. that stuffs complicated

so i should probably give the daughter a name and a unique design, huh. based on the other doctors (which is a trainer class, no doubt), but with a unique hairstyle and way of presenting herself. maybe she even has some similarities to Rhia. yknow. cause theyre a cute couple no matter what end you get.
