this marks our second general event within the group that is not a plot drop, but could hold bearing on the future of the group & its overall plot based on muse interactions & anything that unfurls of the event itself. our image is credited to boem travel photography.

all writers within the group are welcome to message us here at the main should they ever have an idea for a character event they would like to organize ( with single or multiple muses within the group or in pairing with another writer, etc ) with our coordination & collection of details.

GATHER 'ROUND FOR SOME YULETIDE CAROL — a fake fireplace is burning bright & emitting heat throughout the Boom Boom Room Live Grooves, who have agreed to host this year's charity banquet. the proceeds this year will be donated to the local homeless shelters to help supply food & blankets to the needy this winter season, as well as missed luxuries such as makeup products & skincare. those who have gathered have their own spritz of holiday cheer from a merchandise booth which will also see all profits donated — reindeer antlers, santa hats, and bright red rudolph noses. while waiting for the auction to begin, guests are offered non-alcoholic beverages, holiday punch & a free open bar. delectable finger foods are being served on a buffet, including pigs in a blanket, freshly-tossed caesar salad, baked yams, honey butter croissants, pumpkin tarts, snickerdoodle cookies, & more. the DJ has been replaced for this evening alone by local jazz band, Twenty Smooching Iced Pigeons, & swing + jump blues band, Banana Metal. they're grooving out to holiday tunes like Run Rudolph Run & Jingle Bell Rock & remixes of George Michael favorites, among others, while some guests hit the dance floor !! the best dancers will win free desserts from Buttermilk Sky Pie Diner. the elves — a team of nine dogs playing dress-up — help to bring each tree to auction !! this is an ascending-bit auction where participants place their bids by voicing their monetary amount. the auction will begin at 7PM. the following are up for sale : TREE NO. 1 — it's a purrfect season for a black cat christmas. no, literally. the humane society has dreamed up the gothic community's first love: a fake tree that is, from head to toe, made of Papier-mâché black cats. the eyes are strings of white bulbs, so be sure not to put it somewhere that it might blind your neighbors !! the tree topper is an orange tabby surrounded by rainbow christmas lights with a ribbon that reads ADOPT DON'T SHOP. TREE NO. 2 — a tree that is rather pathetically decorated, in the cutesy kind of way that makes you want to take it home IMMEDIATELY. a charlie brown christmas crafted by the local eye center. at its center is a huge pair of googly eyes glued down to the cedar, as well as parts from a dismantled mr. potato head hung all around in decorative cheer. mrs. potato head is the star that sits atop the tree. TREE NO. 3 — an imported tree from one of the freight harbor companies in anchorage is an absolutely dashing piece up for auction. each branch is lovingly hung with sylvanian family ( calico critters ) complete with each to their own costumes, customarily encompassing the holiday spirit. it is a tree sprayed to a pastel pink color, and a heart for the topper. TREE NO. 4 — the new trend, an upside down christmas tree ! it otherwise has all the makings that anyone could ask of a tree, the classic red ornaments dangling from every branch, the usual fixings of lights, bells and bobs. the only difference is the extra support she needs to stay afloat ! decorated & gifted by the Big Bad Wolf Demolition Company, wishing you a merry christmas & to turn that frown upside down !

So I Found A Bunch Of Neat Rocks In This One Abandoned Lab Behind A Wall Deep In Floor 34, And Some Of Them Taste Like Energy And Souls So They Are Probably Kind Of Cursed Or Enchanted, But Some Of Them Just Seem To Be Rocks. Let Me Know If You Want Any!

One day, there is blinding sunshine and you can’t spend an hour outside without getting a bit burnt in the heat. The next, the rain has come back with a bitterly cold wind that gets into your bones. The seasons have changed, and with it, Halloween is quickly approaching. All over the city, things are happening, and not all of them can be explained.

See under the cut for a list of Halloween events that are running, some all month, and others just for the spookiest night of the year.

ooc information: 

Threads can start any time, but we ask that people do not post event starters past Friday the 13th of November, to bookend the spooky season. Of course, you can take as long as you’d like to continue threads after that.

CBD:

Platinum Cinema is airing a different scary movie every day of the month and offers a five percent discount on concessions for anyone dressed up. That discount goes up to ten percent if you are dressed as a character from the movie you’re seeing. Don’t ask how they got movies that weren’t made in this time, that’s not a question you want answered.

The Jolly Roger is offering pirate cruises around the harbour. The crew are all pirates – some of them even real pirates – and they’ll teach you how to swordfight if you ask nicely. If you cause trouble, you’ll really walk the plank, so don’t wear a costume that might weigh you down. If you have a little magic to spare, the captain might even arrange for a flight cruise over the city itself.

The Rocks:

Ghost tours are running every night of the month, starting through the Rocks but leading through other parts of the city to showcase the true and often horrifying history of the city. The thing is, the tour guides, they don’t seem to be real, exactly, and you’ll come away wondering where the ghosts really were. 

The Roadhouse is not the type of place ghosts are welcome. You’ll notice the tour guides stay well away from it, but for any people who do go in, there is a chance for a free drink. If you can tell a scary story that impresses owner Jo Harvelle, your next round is free. But fair warning, she does expect realism. 

Want a stunning costume and a guarantee you won’t look exactly like someone else? Marinette Dupain-Cheng has rented out a room here in the Rocks and offers a cheap tailoring service if you’ve bought a costume that doesn’t quite fit, and a more exclusive costume design service where she’ll make you a one of a kind costume.

Darling Point:

Crimson Rooftop is well known for being a classy place, and Halloween is no exception. On the night of Halloween itself, they are offering a free drink with dinner to guests who are dressed as classic characters, nothing gaudy or foolish. There are also rumours that the meals might even just magically appear on your plate.

Harry Osborn has issued an open invitation to a masquerade party at his manor on Halloween night. It is hardly the only party going on that night, even in Darling Point as well, but it will be a fancy night for all guests.

King’s Cross:

Ember’s Club has decorated appropriately for the month, and the dancers have changed costumes for the month to get into the spirit – absolutely no pun intended, no matter what you might see around the place.

On Halloween, Club Loophole will be exclusive to Arcadia members for the night, with the mysterious leader hosting a party for only the gang itself. Costumes are optional but highly encouraged, and everyone knows better that to disappoint the leader.

In contrast to their well-known rivals, The Phantom is opening their doors to everyone, and making a point of it. They’ll also be holding a costume competition – the person with the best costume in the club at midnight will get their tab paid off, meaning they drink free.  

The Whiskey Chef is offering thematic drinks with their meals all month, and on Halloween, they’re offering a lucky raffle. If your name is called out, you’ll dine free.

If you want to party and you’re okay with the odd displays of magic, but don’t want to go somewhere too crazy, then why not stop by Magnus Bane’s party? Please dress up, whether that means just dressing nicely or in a costume, but a good time is guaranteed to be had – if you don’t drink the wrong thing.

Newtown:

One street, popular with university students, is running a series of haunted houses. Some of these are exactly what you’d expected from a bunch of students, while others are more innovative and use creative technology for bigger scares. And if it so happens that maybe some Weirdsister students got involved in the fun to make their house the spookiest, well, it’s all in good fun.

On the night known by most as Halloween, the university campus will find it much harder to deny the allegations that there is a secret magical campus hidden within the school. To fit the actual season of the southern hemisphere, a Beltane feast will be held on the 30th, and it’ll magically appear on the university grounds for all to enjoy. There will be many traditional events surrounding the feast, such as a bonfire, and it will last from sunset on the 30th to sunset on the 31st, where all traces will magically disappear again.

Ever wanted to learn your future? Ron Weasley is offering the chance for you to find out. If you can find him in the haunted houses in the whole week leading Halloween, he’ll take you aside and tell your future. He doesn’t guarantee you’ll like what he tells you, or that it’ll make sense, but it will be true.

Bondi:

Over the weekend before Halloween itself, Bondi will host a series of competitions during the sunny days of the weekend. To enter, you must compete in a costume the entire time. For each competition, you are scored, and the winner of each round gets a free dinner for two at the Beach House, located right on the waterfront, and the ultimate winner gets $1000. The competition includes: a 5km race, surfing, a 5km swim, weightlifting, and long jump. It is possible to just compete in one round and not the whole thing, but you’d lose the chance of the final prize.

It’s not strictly allowed to host parties on the beach, not that it stops smaller gatherings which go ignored. However, it’ll be impossible to ignore the fantastic display put on by Rose Weasley. With fireworks, bonfires, and plenty of alcohol, this party is sure to end up with more than a little trouble by the time it’s over. 

Balmain:

Interested in something family friendly? Well, Balmain is closing off several streets to make a safe zone for children to go trick or treating without worrying about traffic. Each house along those streets will have appropriate décor – nothing too scary for the little ones – and plenty of candy to give away.

One street will also be holding a street party on All Hallows Eve, where everyone is invited. It’s potluck, so consider bringing something to share. There’ll also be dancing, but the party will be over by 1am.

Parramatta:

Just outside Parramatta, a large field has been turned into a drive-in theatre. Every day of the month, they’re showing family friendly Halloween movies, and after sunset, the movies are truly horror movies. It doesn’t matter if the movies are from another time, or if characters see their stories played out on the screen, it’s free and it’s fun.

Also just outside Parramatta, Rohirrim Stables is offering spooky horse rides, led by owner Eowyn. Bring a picnic lunch or dinner, depending what time you come by, if you dare to eat in the middle of the woods. 

Liverpool:

One farm just outside Liverpool has been turned into a delightfully spooky maze. There are some people who come out of it saying that there are impossible creatures inside the maze, but… at least they got to leave the maze.

Inspired by a legend of a nearby suburb, Liverpool is holding a festival. There will be performers entertaining the crowds, a couple of rides that should certainly not exist in the 20’s, and a parade of spooky costumes. It’s family friendly, and also very popular for daredevils who want to go on the rides.

✩ How I Run My Blog! ✩

Speed: 

Slow As Hell, for the most part. True, there are times when I yeet replies out because me and/or my muse are ridiculously invested in a thread, or inspiration instantly strikes. However, my default tends to be Really Slow. Something I try to make prominent to everyone since I understand some people prefer to not wait months at a time for a response- which is something I often end up doing. For a variety of reasons: be it because muses are fickle, it tends to take hours at a time for me to craft replies, I literally have hundreds of threads... As a result of this, I don’t drop threads too often either? Usually, they're lingering in my drafts, and it isn’t uncommon for a hella old one to suddenly be thrust onto the dash.

Of course, I never expect people to reply to Old Threads if they don’t want to, and don’t mind either way! I just like offering a response so I didn’t just abruptly drop it. :3 But yeah, I am a very slow roleplayer and while I hope my writing is decent enough to be worth the wait, I’ve had experience interacting with others who obviously prefer things to be quick and constant. Which I am not. Not delving into THOSE experiences because yeah- They weren’t the best. lol But I just want to make it clear that my speed does not equate my interest in a thread or in interacting with others. I am just a hella slow person who wants to write about birbs. 

Replies: 

My replies tend to get L O N G. I am not adept at short threads, and even ones that start out as really small back-and-forth replies are pretty much guaranteed to get longer on my side within a few responses. My muses like to get introspective and I like to get descriptive- I’m talking several paragraphs before they start to talk or even get to the point where they aren’t thinking-about/reacting-to whatever your muse did in the last reply. XD I’ve noticed that my average seems to be three-to-five paragraphs, but it isn’t uncommon for me to break the double-digits at times. Of course, I never expect my partners to match length and as long as I’m given more than a couple sentences in return, it’s all good. 

Starters: 

Whenever I add a new muse, I often post a Starter Call for them. They tend to vary in length, but are often two-to-three paragraphs long because I’ve tried to make single sentence ones and it never seems to work out. Occasionally, I’ll throw out random Open Starters when inspiration or a random idea strikes. These starters are free for as many people to respond to as they want, and are ALWAYS open regardless of how long ago I posted them.  

Inbox: 

My Inbox is always open and I am constantly reblogging RP and Ask memes for it. However, again I shall bring up my Turtle-Like speed because my asks do tend to snowball. Right now I have 966 asks, so it’s no surprise that sometimes they can get lost in the pile. But I have a habit of answering random ones whenever threads aren’t working or I’m in a mood for something specific that a reply won’t give, so that’s why I continuously reblog things. I like having a healthy stash of stuff to answer when needed. So don’t be surprised if an ask you forgot you even sent is suddenly popping up onto the dash. XD 

Selectivity: 

I am semi-selective, meaning that while I am willing to RP with people I am not technically mutuals with, I won’t RP with everyone. I’m not trying to discourage people from approaching or make anyone feel poorly, there are just certain writing styles that I tend to gravitate towards and click more easily with. For example, if I notice that someone’s blog is filled with a surplus of one-liner back-and-forth, uncut replies, chances are I’m not going to follow because I don’t want my dash constantly cluttered. Maybe I’ll RP if they approach and give more than single sentences in our threads, but I’m not going to automatically promise to interact with everyone. Because I did that before and honestly, it’s not fair to me or the other person if I’m not actually enjoying replying to a thread. 

I don’t take graphics or Aesthetics into consideration when it comes to following or interacting. After all, what is important is the writing and the fun. :3 

Wishlist: 

I have a tag for random things that I thought would be fun to explore- #Got The Quacking Craze || {Wishlist}

But if I have to state some specific things, I suppose that right now I’d enjoy threads in some of my AU verses. Specifically, the Siren AU for Fenton because I LOVE that fluffy fish and it’s a shame that I don’t often get to write in it. Another AU that I like is the Robo AU for Louie, and I’ve rarely used it as well. Not to mention, his negaversion Louis is a precious boi who I definitely wouldn’t mind more interactions with. Oh! It’d also be cool to have threads that take place when my muses are kids- particularly: Fenton, Gladstone, and Mark. 

Or threads that take place during College/Teen years. Again with: Fenton, Gladstone, and this time Imma throw Panchito into the mix. Some College Caballeros, perhaps? Some Fenton-still-with-his-assnugget-bf Angst? Some glam-rock-phase Gladstone dealing with the jealousy of his peers, the still-lingering guilt of having ‘killed’ his parents, and crushing on his nerdy best friend all wrapped up in the facade of Teen Drama? JNFFJKSDFNDSF... 

Honest Notes: 

As well as being slow with Replies and Asks, I am oftentimes slow with my IMs. This is nothing personal against anyone! I just get overwhelmed at times and have the memory of a potato. Which means sometimes I’ll think I replied or just flat-out forget until days later. Plus Tunglr LOVES to screw with my messages, so more often than not I’m not even alerted of them until hours upon hours later... Long story short, I really do enjoy talking with all of you and love getting messages from my friendos. Seriously, I don’t mind if when I’m flooded with them. It just sometimes takes me a bit to gather up enough energy to reply coherently.

Random Side Notes: 

My blog is pretty messy and while I’m trying to whip up bios that are more than just notes for my own benefit hastily scrawled down whenever I was in a muse-adding frenzy, lots of info about my muses tend to either be in my own head or jotted down on the random Headcanon posts I sometimes throw into the wild. XD I also have a habit of analyzing the HELL out of things when I get excited, so long-ass posts like those sometimes pop up as well. 

Speaking of excitement, there WILL be times when I gush about the star of this blog- *motions at Fenton* and everyone must Accept That. Because he is my FLUFFY SON and I shan’t apologize for loving him with every fiber of my being. X3 Sometimes I’ll go off about other characters too, but more often than not it is HIM. OOC posts are a thing too.

Sometimes inspiration comes in bursts and muses take over the blog for a day or a few- like right now, how Fenton is dominating everything. My birbs are fickle bishes and I’ve learned to just let them fight over who is going to get the attention, then roll with whoever wins. This is why I encourage people to interact with as many muses as they want and start as many threads as they’d like. That way, no matter which muse is strong or what kind of thread I am in the mood for, there’s a chance something will Work With Me. Besides, I’m always up for new threads and ideas, regardless of how many things we are juggling already. 

That being taken into account- Please understand that I oftentimes don’t know WHO the Hell I’m going to feel the muse for or WHAT threads they will be. So no rushing or nagging for replies because all that does is make my muses drag their feet. :’3

looking for otome-based RP partners!

Hullo (hopefully future) friends! I’ve got a bit of a weird proposal.

(For anyone who saw the first one on my OTHER-OTHER side blog, this is redux, the 2.0, because that sideblog was TOO NEW to show up in tags and I am really hoping that this one shows up on this MUCH OLDER and REPURPOSED sideblog!) 

ANYWAY, here blog isn’t and probably won’t ever be an RP blog. I’ve RPed on Tumblr a lot in the past (mostly in the Homestuck community, a few years back) and while doing so was a lot of fun, it was also a lot of work! Maintaining pages, bios, graphics, etc, is all stuff I seemed to have all the time in the world for a few years back, but I find I really just don’t anymore.

Unfortunately, I don’t really know where to find RP outside of Tumblr and cherubplay (thanks again, Homestuck!) either, but Cherubplay isn’t exactly the greatest for finding anything outside of just raw-doggin-it-smut-fests and while that can be, uh, fun, it’s not really what I want to focus on when I RP.

So why am I here?

I’m hoping to find other people who don’t really have time to run an RP blog (or who do have time, but also might be willing to dip their toes into doing it on Discord, too, assuming you aren’t already!) for some good time plotting and roleplaying!

Which I guess brings us to the meat of this whole thing… (more, of course, under the cut!)

WHAT WILL WE RP?

I’ve been real keen on otome lately and I’m really looking to play some canon boys to your MC or OC! While I’ve certainly had my fun playing girls before (mostly in WoW, or other MMORPG settings), I find I always prefer to play dudes, and (if you’d pardon this bit of arrogance!) I think I can be pretty dang good at it!

While I do occasionally ship MxM, it’s really only something I do with my best bro, so I’m sorry to disappoint, but I’m really only interested in MxF pairings atm! I hope that’s okay with everyone.

COOL, BUT WHAT SERIES? WHAT CHARACTERS?!

I’d like to say I have a pretty healthy familiarity with a lot of otome, but I’m not sure I’d be the hottest at RPing them all! If it can’t be guessed by my avatar, I’m kind of on a Hakuouki kick right now, so I’m partial to that, for sure, but for ease of readability and so you can get a good idea of what I’m open to, I’ll list them in some nicely formatted order.

Hakuouki Characters

Okita :: Okita is tied for my personal favorite Hakuouki dude with Sannan, but I think I’d enjoy playing him a lot more than Sannan (which isn’t to say I wouldn’t like to play him, too!). I’ve always been partial to smirky, tease-y boys, especially when they’re struggling with confronting their feelings.

Sannan :: Sannan speaks to my love of polite but cold characters, and it’s only a bonus that he’s a megane, which I’ve also always loved! As mentioned above, he’s probably tied with Okita as favorite Hakuouki dude, but I think Okita’d be easier to play.

Kazama :: Kazama is fun because I’ve always had a love for garbage can style kidnap-and-seduce plotlines if that was your kind of thing!

Saito :: I love Saito aesthetically and his personality is pretty rad and I’d rank him as pretty up their on faves, but I admit I don’t have overmuch experience when it comes to awkward slow-to-open-up kinda boys! I’m sure we could make it work though.

Other dudes :: I’d be willing to try honestly most anyone from Hakuouki but these are the ones above are the ones I feel most confident/interested in playing! If you’d like someone else, you can most certainly ask, especially if you have some kind of plotline you’d like to see!

Diabolik Lovers

Oh baby, yeah I am totally into this hot hot dumpster fire!

Reiji :: As mentioned, I love megane, and Reiji’s probs my favorite of everyone in the whole dang series. Older? Check. Smart? Check. Responsible? Check. Cold? Double check. Really fucking mean? Check. Smirky? Well, in the games, yes!

Shuu :: Sorry Reiji, but I also love Shuu. I might make him just a twinge OOC because his laziness might make advancing the plot kind of headachey, but other than tht, I love this loser.

Subaru :: Subaru, contrary to his third place on this list, is probably pretty close behind Reiji for favorites. Aggressive, ill-refined, totally willing to fight everyone – I admit I tend to play the more well-spoken and calculating kind of characters more, but I’d be willing to rock Subaru for you to the best of my ability!

Ruki :: I won’t say Ruki’s my favorite of the Mukami brothers but I like him a lot and I think I’d play him well!

Everyone else except Azusa and Kou :: Spoiler: I love Azusa to death and find him adorable but I don’t really relish playing openly masochistic characters, so he’s a no go unless we can work something out! Kou is – no offense, but I just really do not like Kou. As far as the famous Sakamaki triplets go, Kanato is one of my absolute all time favorites, and I’d be willing to play him with the right person… but we all know he’s kind of an absolute nutbag, so I’m hesitant to dump that on anyone! Ayato is a staple and Laito could be… like Kanato, I think I’d have to feel pretty assured by my partner they could handle the grosser parts of his character. Open to exploring it, however!

Amnesia

I’m not gonna bother sectioning everyone into neat little areas cause there is so few, but Toma is my favorite (I’m a real sucker for yandere, whoops). I’d be willing to play him, of course, provided my partner was comfortable with it! I’d also be willing to do Kent (my second favorite!), Shin and maaaaaaybe Ukyo. Sorry, I didn’t really care for Ikki – not because Ikki was bad (he was actually cool!) but because fan girl route characters drive me BANANAS.

AND SO THAT LEAVES US WITH… WHAT WILL YOU PLAY?

Honestly, I’m gonna be real with everyone here: I love roleplaying because it’s like writing fanfiction with someone else, so it’s all the fun and self indulgence of fanfiction, but better, cause ya know – someone else is doing it with you! And I’m really here for the self indulgence, so please go ham.

Yeah, you can play the MC of the game, and I’d be cool with that! But honestly, I love OCs, and I’d love to hear about and plot with your OCs. I have some ideas for potential plots (especially for Hakuouki), but I’m also open to your ideas, too, and I think a lot of plots could work best outside the confines of a pre-established MC. Also, you get to show me your drawings/face-claims/whatever for your characters, and that’s pretty rad!!

Also, as someone had asked when I tried to post this on my previously non-functional blog, I’m also open to crossovers! I’m cool even if I don’t know much about the character -- you’ll just have to pardon my ignorance.

So, uh… RULES? RP STYLE? ETC? SOME POORLY ORGANIZED POINTS

+ Yeah, I’m deffo 21+ so ideally you would be too, especially if there’s anything like, remotely scandalous going on! I’m not too sure I feel very comfortable RPing with anyone younger than 18, mostly just because there’d be such a big age difference between us. Rest assured it isn’t because I think I’m better than you, or being ageist! It’s mostly just for my own sense of comfort!

+ Speaking of scandalous, I don’t push hard for anything super graphic unless that’s your style because I’m very much a person who loves drowning in the emotions of “holy crap does this guy really like this lady a lot”. I tend to be over indulgent as heck when it comes to inner monologues describing just how much your character makes mine’s heart go doki-doki, so expect a lot of that. If we start heading towards fuck-making of the graphic non-fade-to-black-variety, we should deffo discuss the sorts of things you discuss before those scenes! (Kinks? I GUESS???) But, as mentioned, it’s deffo not at all on top of my list of prerogatives. We need to BUILD for that!

+ My RP style tends to be 3rd or 2nd (lmao, Homestuck) person, present tense, a couple paragraphs to “oh my god, you can shut up now”. You can write however you like, with my only request being that you be passably literate! Not like, snootily literate. You get what I mean? I hope so. ):

It has been months, Okita reminds himself. It has been months, and months, and more months on top of that – almost a year, maybe a little more, even, and as he sets his teeth behind that constant wolf’s grin, he thinks to himself: You should be better than this. You should be stronger.

But for all the time he’s spent with her, it has never gotten easier. No, no – it has only ever gotten worse, and it’s particularly bad now that he’s alone with her, now that she’s so close –

“Okita-san?” Her voice rings in his ears like a few plucked notes of some delicate string instrument, and he feels his lips part, his smile all teeth. She’s paused, midway between pouring him a cup of tea, and her eyes – ever and much too familiar – meet his with a hint of shyness Okita feels guilty for relishing. “Are you okay?”

“Worried about me, mn?” He rolls his head from one shoulder to the next, halfway between a shrug and a stretch, and tries very hard to resist the urge to pull her towards him, into him, that he might catch more of the rich perfume that lingers along the line of her throat. “You shouldn’t be.”

You should, he thinks, and not without a hint of guilt, be more worried about yourself.

Midsummer dreams and hot July moon, Il Dannato's annual midsummer fantasy ball is here. A night of debauchery under the guise of every fantasy you had as a child that begins with once upon a time. Mermaids will sing on stage; their sirens song lulling you to the deadly rocks where any man would gladly lay down his life. Faeries will soar through the sky in daring trapeze acts while fire performers appearing more dragon-like than ever while set the garden ablaze with inferno like glory. 

For one night only Il Dannato will open it's doors to the most well connected, affluent and just plain lucky guests of the city for an all fantasy fest!

Guests will be treated with one of a kind cocktails specially blended from the night, iridescent "mermaid tears" that will tickle your taste buds and make you feel like you're floating and a deep blue concoction served with a flash of fire aptly called "dragons heart". If the drinks weren't enough to make you want to stay settle in for one of the best shows of the year. Each act dressing on theme as they perform bigger than ever before, using more special effects to immerse the guest in a magical performance, unlike any other. The event is costume mandatory (think fairy tales with a twist of the damned) and will go from nine p.m until three a.m. All through the night, you'll be sure to find something to shock and dazzle you if only you look closely enough.

OOC INFORMATION:

This event will take place for one week (July 13th - July 20th) at which time we would ask that all present-day threads be put on pause or wrapped up.

Feel free to continue any flashbacks as long as the event is made a priority.

Your characters MUST arrive in costume, but feel free to ask an admin or the members for help if you need a little help in the ps department or just finding costume inspiration.

Tag your costumes as damnedfantasycloset and all starters with damnedfantasyball so we can keep up with what's going on where.

Feel free to plot among yourselves! This event is mostly just for fun since we all deserve a little something here and there.

Hi and hello all!

My name is Jane, but you can all refer to me as Nam since I know that we have another Jane around here, and I don’t want to confuse either of us. So yeah, just call me Nam if you guys like!

Anyways, this is my little aspiring musician and mi hijo, Miguel, and I am very excited to be given the chance to play as him! I don’t often play as boys, so please bare with me when I officially do begin playing as him. I also have not been in a role playing group in over a year, in fact I haven’t role played in over a year at all. But I use to do so all of the time, and I missed it and so I am very glad to have discovered this group when I did, and I am even more happy to be able to take part in it!

Yeah so, I have a few things I need to fix up and do before I can respond to anyone’s starter or create my own. In fact, Miguel’s own starter most likely won’t be posted until tomorrow because it is already about to be 1 in the morning where I am, and I have been up since 5 AM and had a very LONG day! I also have a few school related stuff that I need to focus on first tomorrow, as I only have about two and a half weeks left of my college semester before I am completely free and able to be on here for as long as I like. So fair warning, my activity will be a little spotty these upcoming weeks, and I was honestly planning on joining after my semester ended, but...I didn’t want to lose the chance of getting to play as Miguel and so I applied two and a half weeks earlier than intended. BUT HEY, that is a good thing right?! I do have two final papers and a timeline I need to write soon, but like I promise to try and come on for at least an hour every single day and do as many replies as I can. In fact, this weekend should be mainly free for me, so I will be having Miguel active them.

Okay so, before I get a bit too wordy (which I know I already am, so sorry about that!), I know what you guys care most about is learning a little bit more about mi hijo here! So, here are a few headcanons I’ve come up with for Miguel:

He is extremely protective of his familia. Especially Coco. Miguel does not do well when anyone insults any member of his familia, even if someone is only agreeing with a complaint Miguel himself was making. But Miguel is the only one who has the right to complain about his familia, because they are his familia and obviously no matter what he says about any of them, he still says it out of love. Frustrated love, but love nonetheless. So try and watch your mouth around him, because he would do whatever it takes to defend his familia no matter what.

Speaking of being especially protective of Coco, Miguel has vowed to not let anyone or anything harm his prima. Seriously, Miguel considers himself more of a lover than a fighter, but displace one hair from Coco’s head and you will be answering to him. His abuelita’s chancleta would be the least harmful thing that you could find yourself getting hit with if you do something to Coco that Miguel deems as harmful. And honestly, while her being sick is part of the main reason for him being overprotective, Miguel still would have be as extremely protective of her since she is not only his familia, but also his best friend. 

He is a helpless but awkward romantic. While romance is not a top priority for Miguel, I imagine that he would easily find himself crushing on others if the situation calls for it. He has seen too many Ernesto de la Cruz films to have those cheesy romantic moments forever in his mind. Plus, he is in his twenties now so I would assume that Miguel would not find things like people kissing gross anymore. In fact, by the time he turned 14 or 15 years old, Miguel finally began to get curious about how it feels to kiss someone or even date them. He hasn’t officially dated anyone though, too busy with his secret music life and being there for Coco to actually make the time for a romantic relationship. But he has been kissed on the lips twice before in his life. One, his first kiss, was with a friend who he trusted enough to not make things weird if they had kissed because he mainly wanted to do so to satisfy his curiosity. The other, was from a random girl who apparently was dared to kiss him. To this day he does not understand why him? Maybe it was a dare to kiss the first person they saw and it just so happened to have been Miguel?

While Ernesto de la Cruz is his favorite performer of all time, Miguel of course likes other musicians as well. He has heard some hit singles from Shakira, Selena, Marc Anthony, Pitbull, Ricky Martin, Vicente Fernandez, Luis Miguel, Celia Cruz, and even Daddy Yankee. How he was able to find songs for any of these singers? The internet is a wonderful invention that allowed Miguel to research other performers when he sneaks away from his family during the night time. But Ernesto de la Cruz will forever be his favorite musician of all time, especially if he does turn out to be his actual uncle! How awesome would that be?! 

Also, as addition, Miguel happens to be a fan of country music. He doesn’t often listen to them as much as he does with latin music, but he still has a few favorite musicians. In fact, if his familia did happen to allow music being played around them, no doubt you would find Miguel singing tunes from Dolly Parton and Blake Shelton as an example. He of course also does listen to contemporary music as well, such as pop and r&b, but Miguel isn’t much of a fan of those. The closes he would find himself liking is also rock music, but even then Miguel is rather picky with what he listens to within that genre.

He is also a bit sleep deprived. His familia happens to also have a thing about being punctual and waking up early in the mornings and so of course, with none of the knowing about his nightly adventures, Miguel often doesn’t get enough sleep. Because of this, he takes any chance he get’s to take a small nap, which often occurs during school hours.

Miguel is really good at crafting things. This comes from learning how to create shoes, but Miguel also likes to create other things. He did after all create his guitar from scratch, which he gathered the parts from any unused materials that was left by his familia and whatever he could gather from around town or even the dumpster. Yes, Miguel is somewhat of a dumpster diver if it meant having a guitar, but he doesn’t do that very often. Only when he feels is necessary.

I have a few other ones, but these are the main ones. Well, besides how he found the photo that gave Miguel the conclusion about Ernesto de la Cruz being his tío. But anyways, yeah these are some of the headcanons I’ve came up for Miguel!

I would also post some connections for him, but I haven’t completely thought of what they are outside of like one connection of him having a friend who always likes to drag Miguel shoe shopping since he has the best opinions on what kind of shoes they should buy. However, I will try and come up with some connections that you guys can fit into, but honestly I am open for plotting regardless because I would love for Miguel to have a few more established connections outside of what is written on his bio and a few others.

Anyone who wants to plot now, however, I most likely won’t respond to because I am extremely tried and am about to head to bed in a few. Just wanted to introduce myself and to mi hijo before heading to bed. But like, I will try and come on tomorrow after I wake up, so that if anyone wants to start plotting we can! My responses may be a little slow though, because again I have some school work I need to focus on first. But I will try and have a starter for Miguel by the ending of tomorrow at the very least.

So yeah, that’s it for now guys! I apologize for the length of this introduction, I promise that it won’t always be this long in terms of my OOC posts. But for tonight, it was.

There are a ton of gift vouchers up for grabs and you can sample everything from the sidewalk's best hot-dogs to michelin star cuisine, make up your own re-fillable cups of pick 'n mix and wash it all down with a wide selection of mocktails!

Of course the main event will be our match-ups! Thank you so much to everyone who participated. Claretta and I will be out here raffling off who gets to go up to the board and pick their partner first and by the end of it all, everyone will have an anonymous questionnaire to read up on before locating their match via codeword. From there, you and your lucky pair'll be able to pick a locally sourced, super fun, activity on us!

Also, on entry we'll be handing out a couple of free strips of tickets for you to use at our games booths! You can purchase more if you run out for a donation of whatever you can and keep on trying to win prizes all day. This is the perfect opportunity to make some new friends or re-connect with old ones. OOC Information:

Our #springflingevent has officially started right now! You can start making your starters at the party maybe having a snack, trying to win some gift vouchers, commenting on all the codewords that are pinned to a big board for everyone to see as they wait to be raffled (to choose their codeword)!

So that means that IC, your character won't know the codeword they have until we message you from the main which won't be too long into the event. Once you have received your pair's codeword (and questionnaire if applicable but again, there's no rush on this and you don't have to fill them out but if you like, can share with your partner some talking points ie: Netflix shows. But this is not mandatory!) you’re good to go.

You and your partner can work out who's going to post a starter for who and how you want to proceed! For instance, I might have Jesse yelling out his partner's codeword as a means to start off. You can also do open starters like this, just keep your partner in the loop. You and your partner can then also decide which super fun activity your characters are gonna do and if you want to gif chat, para etc. it out, and which parts you'd like to do. For example, if your characters go bungee jumping you might want to write out the whole experience, set the thread after it/before it- whatever you like!
