#a warning to the curious (1972)#i love the christmas ghost story thing#and this one also has the added terror of... norfolk. which. having lived there i can say yes. it's like that.#'normal for norfolk' isn't just a classist and ableist acronym they write on doctors' notes. it's a weird fkn place.#a lot like the south west in that they're two bits of the uk no one goes to without a purpose#but cornwall has more tourism and a more diversified rural economy so it's not quite as entrenched in its own odd history.#for my us/can friends: norwich literally has a norman castle in the middle of the city. they built a mall under it. called it 'castle mall.#used to be a nice ice cream shop there. there's also a pub from... 1248 iirc? the adam and eve. not that great. don't recommend.#anyway. anything outside the tourist drag can get verrry rural. it is danelaw country after all.#so i can absolutely buy vengeful spirits patrolling the bleak and windswept coast.#m.r. james#movies#adam scovell#Youtube
