The downside to being more and more knowledgeable about animals and their welfare is so many "cute/wholesome" animal videos/pics aren't actually all that cute or wholesome 😔
#i leave em be because i dont lioe being a killjoy#but its like#'heres an adorable vid of a cat with a prey animal' that animal is in extreme danger you are being an irresponsible pet owner#like both from the obvious but also at risk of disease or the prey animal freaking out and trying to defend itself and hurting your cat#or people 'taming' wild animals and feeding them like youre creating a nuisance animal and hindering its dietary needs#which is bad enough on its own but extra awful when its a fucking predatory animal. youre going to get your 'friend' killed#or just stuff like i just saw a post about feeding possoms and like#and like. theyre very prone (esp young ones) to malnutrition rendering them literally incapable of walking.#like malnutrition as in not having dietary needs met#also people spread the 'theyre safe because they cant get rabies!' and it IS highly unlikely but they ARE NOT fully immune.#plus yknow. its illegal in most places to have wild animals as pets and in many cases you are not equipped to give them the care they need#IDK MAN#keaton quiz
