Gosh sorry it's so long. I hadn't realized how much had been put into Sunny's character until you asked these questions, and I really want to thank you for that. I had to do a bit of soul searching for these answers 😂💖

Sunshine Alisabet Meadows

🧊 - Is their current design the first one?

Kind of.

What I mean by kind of, is that Sunshine has always been "the laundry bitch".

And I will come back to this later.

So, I'm gonna start this off by telling you that instead of using y/n in my reader x turt fics, I like to use pet names. Sunshine is one of those pet names.

And actually the pet name originally stemmed from Tethered - which has been being written for I feel like YEARS at this point, but has yet to see the light of day - whomp.

Sunshine is what Donatello calls his significant other, as a pet name in said series.

And actually, now that I think of it, I first used it in LBH BY Donatello, and I think it just kind of stuck after that.

Because we all know, I do love me some DonDon.

Then, Sunshine really came about next, through means of my one-shot Sniped.

She was dropped into an apocalyptic au through human trafficking and saved by Donnie. Later she moved in with the turtles on base and met Mona Lisa - courtesy of the wonderful @tmnt-tychou 💕

Her most current version that you all know and love, was restructured to fit in a Tactical Turtles (Rise) AU, where she met a hot ass mechanic - Axel 💖

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

Weirdly enough, a dream. I dream in turtle occasionally. And Donatello's pet name for me, was Sunshine.

The person really responsible for helping start Sunshine on her OC journey, however, was TyChou 🫶🏻

Mona was Sunshine's first girlfriend.

That's right folks, you heard it here first. MonaShine was and sometimes still is a thing. Because Sunny also loves herself a lizard girlfriend 😂☀️🦎💕

Sunshine continued her journey into what we'll call a group writing exercise started by the incredible @morning-sun-brah 💖 and in an au created by the equally amazing @donathan 🤩

She got a little resizing, if you will, to become a self insert character for said writing exercise.

And then she just sort of found a voice of her own as time went on. She does indeed resemble me in many ways, but she is very much *her own person* now.

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?

Her girlfriend, Axel.

LOL KIDDING

No but, really, I love everything about Sunshine. Girlfriend has been through A LOT. And put ME through A LOT.

Including springing the fact that she has an identical twin - Buttercup. Who I also love dearly, but that's a story for another ask.

Sunny is my most frequently written OC, although you'd never know it because most of her stories remain in my drafts, and unpublished 😅

Which is a crime because she's a friggin riot.

I love that she is sassy and sarcastic. She has such a wonderful sense of humor and a heart of gold. She is warm and welcoming, and she is equal parts safety and laundry. She is the epitome of Shenanigans Supreme® and if you ever looked up Little Shit™ in the dictionary, you'd see her staring back at you.

She holds a very special place in my heart and is my favorite out of all my OCs.

Just don't tell her. It'll go straight to her head 😑🙄😂

And honestly, she's my OG laundry bitch, how could I not love her the most 🫶🏻☀️

And since we're here, and I'm writing about her character development, I want to give a huge shout out, and thanks to all of you who have helped me create and develop her. Especially @shiftandshade ❤️🥰

Ey smoke on the rare occasion 🚬

Ey've always loved seeing new places & meeting the friendly ppl there, so eir occupation as a Caravanner was enjoyable for them (when eir mom died, ey started taking more/farther away jobs)

Eir eyes are actually 2 different shades of green (emerald & sage)

🎯 - What do they do best?

jk But if i had to say: adapt. You already know Wilson's super secret super awesome lore, but for the uninitiated, the first few years of Wilson's time in hogwarts he has a really vague, fuzzy sense of identity and for lack of better wording, has a "front" and changes his personality to cater to whose around. He has a crippling need to belong or "be worth being friends with" because in his eyes, he needs to do so make up for being a subpar human being (He basically has depression and disassociative tendencies but he doesn't know that's what those are so he feels like there is just something deeply defunct with himself 😔)

He pulls off his personality shifting by having a library's worth of notes on the likes and dislikes of people he cares enough about, what behaviours they react best to, what they expect of him, etc. He then also has the flexibility to recall and mix-and-match his behaviours to fit whoever is around, whether it's just one person or the whole gang. He also has a set "polite" act that serves as a blank slate for people he doesn't know yet that gets filled the more he interacts with them.

tldr; He's good at extrapolating, recalling, and applying information when it's urgent/when he really wants to.

Outside of its use in becoming a social chameleon to try and cope with his mind rotting insecurities, I'm sure you can guess that this sort of flexibility of his applies to other things he does, like saving your friends from dying in the forbidden forest at 2 AM bi-weekly for example. It's not like he applies it to everything he does nor is this trait of his completely foolproof, but he's good at it :].

❤️ - What is one of your OC's best memories?

I know i already told you before that his first kiss with Daniel is one of Wilson's best memories, but I am retconning that and I have NEW super secret super happy memories for Wilson AND YOU'LL NEVER FIND OUT ABOUT THEM!!!!! maybe

But just to give you a vague idea: he hangs out with Daniel in the summer sometimes, and he has a lot of fond memories chilling with Daniel and Esme :]]

🍀 - What originally inspired the oc?

To be honest. I just wanted to have somebody kiss Daniel.

OK BUT TO BE FR, I don't really have a clear memory on what pushed me to make Wilson. I think I was just having a lot of fun playing HPMA? The HP world looked fun, and I was really liking the goober I had in-game, AND I saw other people with their ocs online, so I thought might as well!

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?

That's a bit hard since I was never good at pointing out my favorite trait/aspect of a character, but if I really had to say... his personality?

It's my first time in a long while actually seriously creating a character from scratch instead of just interpreting from canon sources. And while I definitely still have a lot of cleaning up and organizing to do, Wilson as a character with a story and a personality that I can put into Situations™ is just a lot of fun to me! I'm having a great time with him :D!

I'd say a close second is his general aesthetics— like his clothes and looks and stuff, and his animagus dog form. Just a silly guy :]

Despite how aggravating their family can be they still love most of them ... deep ... DEEP down

They were really close with Aunt Flo (& will probably never fully recover from finding her body) 🥲

Kev & them are #pining idiots™ who flirt A LOT (the 𝟷ˢᵗ time they even kissed was during the Book1 Epilogue...)

Self-care = curling up with a book 📖

Mio has a 6-year-old rescued grey 𝘔𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘰𝘯 named “Smokey” (he has 3 legs & 1 eye), he even has his very own playroom in their home

They threw their 𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 into Henry's grave 💍

They're SUPER excited to attend Benny's wedding (& already have a draft written up for their speech)

Unsurprisingly, Mio has PTSD after the events of Book1 (they are seeing a therapist about it though) 🧠

Also, I guess Mio is technically a guardian/parent now since their canon Book1 ending had Tess being arrested (little Henry is gonna be sooo loved ♥︎)
