Kuroo Tetsurou knew, from the second he first laid eyes on you. Walking into the office, pretty and perfect, sweet and serene, and smiling at him. He knew that he loved you. And when you laughed, when you head fell back at a witty comment he made and you responded with one just as nerdy and out of place. That he could spend forever loving you. And that, that knowledge that slammed into him like a ton of bricks, that was terrifying.
It was more terrifying the first time he tried to ask for your number. He chickened out and instead found himself at your friend’s cubicle. The one who had gotten you this job. Begged her-to no avail-to give him your number. But somehow you ended up in his phone, a text late in the evening on a Friday night. The night that meant staff drinks at the local bar. It was a night he’d decided to skip this week in exchange for hanging out with Kenma at his house.
Just one text.
Heyyy! It’s y/n from the office.! Y/f/n told me you were tryna get my number so I figured I’d save you the trouble :)
One text and Tetsurou was ashamed to say he answered it immediately. That it didn’t even take a full minute for him to be typing a reply. And that he didn’t push himself to stay up until the early hours of the morning flirting back and forth on text. He was ashamed to say that it happened again the next night and the night after that.
He didn’t know if it was worse or better that they didn’t talk much at work. A little bit of banter as he passed by your cubicle and when you ran into each other in the break room. No acknowledgement of the conversations had outside of the workplace. Friendly flirtations you’d slipped into conversations with others, laid on heavily with each other. And then there came the time when he’d find himself leaving the comfort of his office to be hanging over the wall of your cubicle chatting half about work and half about anything else his head could supply. He’d feel himself fill with pride when you’d try to hide the smile creeping on your lips at another (even he could admit it this time) terrible chemistry pun.
It was easy. Talking between the two of you. You were sweet and smiles and would banter with him among the best. Sweet, smart, and sexy. A jackpot. And he had to let you know that he wanted you.
But Tetsurou had the tendency to confuse his feelings and fall on the safest option. He was attracted to you. Yes. In love? Not if he could help admitting it. A confession came in the middle of the night about two weeks into texting each other.
I wish you were in bed with me. We could cuddle and watch movies.
It was bold and Tetsurou cringed because it made him sound a bit like a fuckboy player. But it worked.
That would be so much fun. Would you let me choose the movie?
I don’t see why not. I wouldn’t be able to focus with you there anyways.
The conversations got heavier. Late at night the two of you would lie in separate beds, steamy texts floating between the two of you. Flirtations that you couldn’t find the courage to act on yet. Work was filled with quick glances at each other, eyes flitting across the other’s skin at the most mundane times. Nothing was talked about outside of text and it drove both of you insane.
Nothing until one of those nights all of you went out for staff drinks. He’d dragged Kenma along with him and the two of them were sitting together, quietly at a table as Tetsurou watched you giggling at your own table with two of your friends, the straw of your drink twirling between your fingers. Your makeup was slightly smudged and your hair messy but he thought you looked ethereal.
And Kenma noticed. Trailed Tetsurou’s eyes over to you, head thrown back in a laugh at some joke that was just made and surely not funny enough to pull that reaction out of you. “So, y/n.”
Tetsurou snapped his head back to look at his friend and Kenma didn’t miss the way your eyes flitted over to the table at the quick movement, quickly looking away again so your friends wouldn’t notice. “What are you talking about?” The uptick in Tetsurou’s voice gave him away and Kenma rolled his eyes.
“Just don’t fuck it up, okay?” He didn’t mean it in a rude way. Tetsurou knew that but he still choked on his drink and gave his best friend an offended look. “Don’t give me that look. That way you’re looking at her right now,” Kenma sighed and took a small sip of his water, “I know that look. She’s a sweet girl. Wears her heart on her sleeve, you know. She’d be good for you.” Tetsurou opened his mouth to speak but no words came out, his friend was rarely this verbal and even more rarely did he use it to call his friend out like this. “You have a tendency to push away good things. So don’t fuck it up.”
Tetsurou didn’t know why he decided to keep drinking. Maybe he was trying to ignore the pang in his chest every time a guy walked up to you to offer to buy you a drink. Or when the one coworker who he knew had a crush on you took it upon himself to sit at your table trying to make you laugh.
Maybe that last event was why he’d excused himself from Kenma when snuck off to the bathroom. Why he made a beeline after you. And maybe that event and the liquid courage pulsing through his veins was why he finally got the guts to press you into the wall next to the bathroom. To revel in the heat rising to your cheeks that you would later blame on the drinks and not on how his body felt so close to yours. You would claim it wasn’t how he looked at you with heavy eyes, drinking you in before dipping to speak flirtations just mere centimeters from your lips.
The flustered look on your face was enough to satiate him for now though. And he left you speechless, against the wall until your friend found you a few minutes later.
The excuse you gave your friend as to why you were leaving early was half assed and if your sober brain was asked to remember what it was you wouldn’t be able to. Tetsurou was gone by the time you reentered the main part of the bar. You couldn’t stay and listen to your coworker flirt with you anymore.
Tetsurou was outside when you stepped out, about to get into a cab, actually. A cab that you didn’t mind sharing. His lips looked enticing as he gave the driver his address and you couldn’t help yourself from leaning over, pulling yourself into his lap finally, like you’d wanted to do the first time you saw him.
You were sure your breath smelt as much like alcohol as his did as you whispered against his lips. His heavy eyes were trained on the way your hands messed with his tie, pulling on it as you pressed your body against his. “Kuroo,” it came out breathy, whiny, and he knew he was done for, “Tetsurou,” you corrected yourself and he couldn’t help himself. His palms came up easily to cup your jaw and pulled you against his lips.
The kiss was hot and needy, nipping at each other’s lips. When you pulled back to finally breathe you could feel your lips as swollen as Tetsurou’s looked. You barely noticed the passing of time and you were outside of an all too familiar apartment building before you knew it. The confusion of why you were outside of your apartment building when you hadn’t given the address washed away when Kuroo swiped a resident pass to get into the building.
His floor was just above yours, three doors over. The irony of it made both of you laugh as you told him that you’d been just downstairs the entire time you’d been flirting with each other. The shock of it all wasn’t given much time to sink in before his lips were on yours again, pressing you into the back of his door.
Tetsurou’s breathing was labored as he kissed down your neck, mumbling into the soft skin. “You’re so pretty, y/n.” You moaned softly at the compliment and the soft and sloppy press of his lips trailing along your skin. “Like an angel walking into my life.” You gasped as his lips came back to press against yours.
The next moments were done in a blurred flurry of movements. Ended with both of your shirts on the floor, your skirt trailing after it. Your legs were wrapped around his waist as he stumbled clumsily towards his room, kisses trailing down your throat again. Your soft moans of his name vibrated against his lips. “Please, Tetsurou.” It was breathy, needy, as you tangled your fingers into his messy hair. “Need you now.”
He wasted no time, laying you on his bed softly, pulling himself out of his pants and tossing them over his shoulder before he came back to kiss down your chest. Both of you were dizzy but couldn’t tell if it was because of the alcohol or each other. Your pleads for him were slurred as he kissed back up, giving in to you easily. If he was sober he’d hate that but all he could think about was being in you, being with you.
Flashes of memory were all you held of that night now, breathy moans and feverish touches. As you laid in your own bed, alone. Neither you nor Tetsurou could remember the night properly. You’d wound up in your own apartment by the time you’d woken up in the morning. You and Tetsurou had been barely talking and it had nearly been a week. You didn’t know what had happened. The absolute confusion of 100% back down to 0%. It was like your first week there all over again. Flirtations in passing, mild in comparison to what they’d become and both of you too nervous to text the other outside of work.
You were restless, unable to fall asleep. You couldn’t help yourself. Walking up the flight upstairs and finding yourself in front of his door, knocking before you could even think about what you’d done.
He was quick to answer it. Hair more disheveled than usual, clad in gray sweats hanging low on his hips that immediately drew your eyes, hungrily taking in the dips in his skin by his hips as they trailed below the hem of his sweats. Your tongue was heavy in your mouth and you couldn’t find the words, having not planned this adventure of yours.
“Y/n?” His voice was sleepy as he questioned my presence, drawing my attention back up to his face. “What are you doing here?”
“I want you.” You had a sudden burst of confidence as you took a step forward, catching him off guard as he stepped back into his apartment. “I miss you.” You whispered again as you stepped forward again, closing the door behind you.
“Y/n, you shouldn’t be here.” He didn’t move again as you took another step to him.
“Tell me to leave then. Tell me you don’t want me here and I’ll go.” You were right in front of him now, your hands coming to rest on his bare chest as his instinctively grabbed your waist.
He inhaled deeply as his lips neared yours. “I’m not good for you.” He muttered, eyes easily becoming hooded, almost closed as he watched your lips, so close to his. “I was made to destroy, y/n.” You shook your head, eyes flicking between his eyes and his lips, watching his struggle to not finish closing the distance. “Not to fix, but to break.”
“You’re not going to break me Tetsu.” You watched as his eyes flicked up to look at yours. Looking for any hesitation, any sign that you were lying to him. You believed yourself and for that moment, so did he.
Your lips closed the distance easily, your body easily remembering the direction to his room and he helped to lead you. The intensity of your motions drawing feelings out of both of you that you hadn’t known were there before. The two of you wound up in his sheets again, a blur again.
That’s what it felt like with Tetsurou. A constant blur. Whispered confessions in the middle of the night. It felt a lot like-
You were in your own apartment by the morning. He acted normal at work, like nothing had happened the night before. He didn’t text you that night. Acted normal at work. And just when you thought maybe you’d been hallucinating the tender moments with him-ready to check yourself into an insane asylum for the memories of whispered confessions and skin on skin… He was knocking on your door. Pressing kisses to your skin as he walked you through your apartment, as he took you right there against the wall of your front walkway. As he whispered apologies and promises to your skin.
And then the time between his disappearances got longer. He’d come by every night for a week before disappearing again. The three words you wanted to hear at the front of his mind. And then it was a month straight. He’d moved out of his apartment upstairs thanks to the end of a lease, moving across town. And you’d done the same a month later. But even that didn’t stop him from having you over nearly every night for a full month, pressing kisses to your cheeks as you cooked, as your presence in the apartment became apparent. As you never left before 3am but never spent the night.
The words were on the tip of his tongue constantly. And that terrified him. Neither of you had let anyone at the office in on your out of work escapades. Keeping your relationship at work friendly and small flirtations, nothing past what you had with others in the workplace.
Tetsurou started to pay more attention to the way you responded to things. Like the boy at work, the insufferable man who sat two cubicles away from you who took every chance to flirt with you. The evil green claws that curled into Tetsurou’s gut was not something he liked. It was paired with a disgustingly tight feeling in his chest, an anxiety at the way you would smile and flirt back. Tetsurou would ignore it and then you. Until he felt like he couldn’t breathe without you there.
He didn’t know what his problem was. It wasn’t like you were his girlfriend. So he would ignore it and then ignore you and then come back more desperate for you than ever. And then he remembered you weren’t his girlfriend again, that he wasn’t your boyfriend. That maybe that boy that was flirting with you was doing more than just flirting with you. Maybe you were seeing him too. There were some times that Tetsurou’s jealousy outweighed his anxiety and he would take it out in bed, with you falling apart under him, reminding himself that only he could make you scream like that. And then there would be times when his anxiety won and he would leave your messages on delivered and opened for a few days.
You, on the other hand, were trying to navigate how a situation like this worked. You weren’t used to the moodswings that Tetsurou seemed to embody. Between the times where you thought he was on the edge of asking you to be his girlfriend and then his disappearances. You convinced yourself that he was busy and that’s why he was disappearing, it was that time of year that his business picked up. You didn’t want to seem clingy, stuck in the in-between.
You wanted to be more like his girlfriend. Thought that if maybe you acted like it he might actually ask you out. That maybe he could be the one if he just finally asked you out. Oblivious to the fact that he was thinking you saw him as just someone to have fun with.
You tried to be better. You left lunch on his desk when no one was looking. Would bring him his favorite coffee order, help him clean his apartment when you were over. You were trying.
He was distancing himself. Stopped turning down the flirtations of the other girls in the office. If you were letting boys flirt with you (even if you weren’t actually aware they were anything past a joke, Tetsurou didn’t know that fact), he would let the girls flirt with him. He would let the girls place their perfectly manicured hands on his arm and ignore the glances of hurt you gave whenever he laughed at their terrible jokes about how toned his arms were.
And then one day, he didn’t know what came over him. He was at work early that day. In his office when you were sneaking in to drop off food and coffee for him. A routine you started but he had never been present for.
“Oh hey, you’re here early.” The giggle that followed flowed easily out of your lips. A gentle sound that had the muscle in Tetsurou’s chest tightening. A light comment as you gently placed the food and beverage onto the desk in front of him.
“Yeah its a busy day today.” The unemotional response made your heart squeeze a little bit but you were convincing yourself that it wasn’t how he meant it. You were reading into it too much.
“Well now that I’ve caught you,” you began easily, at least it sounded easy but on the inside your gut was turning, anxiety filling you, “I was curious if you’d like to get dinner with me tonight?” His fingers stopped their typing and he finally looked up. You weren’t looking at him, instead focused on the window and a pair of birds that were flying by. He couldn’t tell what you were thinking.
The sudden rush of hope that this was more to you than he’d thought took over his body and he immediately shut it down. Let the waves of anxiety drown that little bit of hope. It was too much. The meals left with cute bows on his desk. The coffees with a daily “good morning <3” written on them. His mouth was opened before his brain processed what words it was pushing out. “Don’t you think you’re being a little suffocating?”
He wasn’t looking at you anymore so he missed the way you froze. How your fingers twitched around your own coffee cup. He missed the look of heartbreak crossing your face. Anxiety ripping into your muscles and tearing the hope that he’d agree to the date into tiny shreds. Immediately your brain was trying to formulate solutions. Reasons why you were the problem and how to fix it. Maybe the daily food and coffee was too much. Maybe you could start to do it only once a week. Maybe you tried to ask too many questions. He was probably just stressed, he said today was busy. Your brain raced but the only sound you could force out was a small, “oh.” You cleared your throat and slapped on a smile. “Sorry, you’re right, today’s busy. Another day then?” Your voice was hopeful as you stepped back towards the door, glancing at where his eyes were glued to his screen again.
“Sure.” It was dismissive and filled both of you with dread. The juxtaposition of this atmosphere to what usually was between you was painstaking.
You tried to be less persistent. Less around. Less demanding of his attention. You waited for him to reach out first. To imply that he wanted to speak with you before you spoke back. You refused to let yourself message first at night, refraining from showing up at night like you had been unless he explicitly told you to come. You stopped bringing food and coffee for him to work, kept it to only bringing food when you were already going to his house. You tried to be less suffocating but every second he wouldn’t be speaking to you felt like another strain on the distance between you.
It all felt like what you thought you could have with Tetsurou was dissolving.
You tried to remind yourself that wasn’t the case. It was easy when he was laying next to you at night. Tracing patterns into your arms and whispering about the things that he loved about you. It was harder at work. Especially on days like today. Days where you walked into the employee break room and Tetsurou laughing and sipping his coffee. And your coworker’s perfectly manicured hand gripping onto his bicep as she laughed along.
You were frozen in spot as you watched him smirk down at her. As she giggled and pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. As she giggled about how strong he must be under that shirt. Frozen as you watched him laugh at the comment that wasn’t funny and as his tongue pressed out a smooth comment of his own. “Oh yeah, its a great workout carrying this ego you give me.”
Her laugh was obnoxious and you found yourself turning on your heel before you could get what you’d originally traveled there for. The need to eat, now erased by the nauseous feeling in your stomach. The feeling that you might have been wasting all this time with Tetsurou. And then came the voice in your head that justified everything. The devil’s advocate. What if he was just being friendly. You shouldn’t assume things. So it couldn’t hurt to ask.
You didn’t even remembering finding yourself at her desk, hanging on her cubicle as you chatted idly about the pictures on her desk, sisters and sorority members littering her photos. Small talk and pointless questions that you didn’t bother fully listening to her answers to. All to get to the question you really wanted to ask.
“So what do you think about the bossman?” You whispered it and added in a light laugh, like you were sharing an inside joke for no one else’s ears.
“So attractive right!” She let out an annoying giggle that ground your ears. You were sure if you hadn’t already decided to hate her then she wouldn’t have been so bad. But you did. So she was. “Brains and beauty.”
“How lucky would the girl that bagged him be.” You laughed lightly trying to lure her into a trap. “Do you think he’s seeing anyone?”
She looked at you with a sly smile and you could feel the regret immediately seeping into your bones. She leaned closer like she had classified information no one else could know. “Can I tell you a secret you promise to not repeat?” Your mouth felt incredibly dry and you couldn’t find it in yourself to speak so you settled on a small nod. “I’ve been texting him lately.” She giggled a little bit, like the happiest girl in the world. “I think he might ask me out soon, some of our texts can get super flirty.” She laughed again and put a finger to her lips. “But you can’t tell!”
You were barely processing her words anymore. You knew you were nodding your consent but your eyes were now glued on the door that led to Kuroo’s office. You couldn’t help the sinking feeling in your chest. The feeling of your heart filling up with lead and being tossed into an ocean. You’d been trying to convince yourself that he thought you were special but he was on the verge of being in a relationship with someone else.
The need to give him the benefit of the doubt filled your mind immediately. The need to ask for his clarification. Give him the ability to shoot down the accusation that laid on the tip of your tongue. You waited though. Painstakingly stared at the clock as you crept closer to being let out for the weekend. You got little to no work done until the end of your shift, glances between the clock and Tetsurou’s door filling your time.
You stayed in your seat for ten minutes after the end of your shift. Waiting as everyone filed out of the office. Everyone except for Tetsurou. With everyone who could possibly see you gone, you made your way slowly to his door, slipping inside quietly.
“Tetsu?” Your voice was a whisper as he looked up at you easily. You couldn’t look at him completely as you flirted with how you would ask the question. He hummed in response, a silent way of trying to get you to finish the question he knew was on the tip of your tongue. “Anything going on between you and the girl from accounting?”
Tetsurou was easy on his reply, seamless in his transition. “Anything between you and the guy two cubicles down?” You looked at him now, he wasn’t even looking at you. He was sorting through the last of a stack of papers. Like he didn’t care to hear the answer. He, however, was filling up with anxiety as he tried to not look desperate for you to ease his nerves. He’d resolved that he wouldn’t be anything more than an office fling to you and if that was the case then he’d make you the same to him.
You, on the other hand, were filling with confusion. The boy two cubicles down? The one that you joked with? The one that jokingly flirted with you? “Nothing is going on between us.” You assured, watching his eyes trail up to you. “We just joke a little bit.”
“Well what you two have got,” Tetsurou started, finishing the last sheet of paper, “that’s what’s up with me and the girl from accounting.” You looked at him warily but nodded lightly. He was standing up now, rounding his desk to lean on it and look at you. He was convinced that there was more between you and the boy and if you didn’t want to admit it then he couldn’t do anything about it. “It’s nothing serious.”
You nodded along to the statement taking a step towards him. “Nothing to worry about.” You mused. You let him wrap an arm around your waist, having him drag you towards him slowly.
You sighed lightly, trying to press down the uneasy feeling inside of you as he pressed a kiss to your jaw. “Come home with me tonight?” The saccharine tone of the words had you melting into him. Telling yourself you were overexaggerating and that you didn’t need to worry because he wanted you.
You followed obediently. Grabbed your things and followed him out. Drove your car behind his on your way to his apartment. You thought of asking why you didn’t go to yours. Why since you’d both moved he’d never deigned to appear on your turf as opposed to only his own. You couldn’t find the courage. Couldn’t convince yourself to possibly strain anything, to push more when he was readily giving you space to be with him now.
And then he let you stay the night. Something he’d never done before. At 3am when you were ready to roll out of his bed and disappear into the dark he caught you by your arm, pulled you back into his embrace. Begged you to stay with soft kisses pressed into your skin and made you mumble promises to stay.
You did.
You stayed the whole weekend actually. He asked for Friday night, begged for Saturday night and then when Sunday night came around it was like you were meant to be there. Like neither of you had to ask for you to be there.
Monday morning Tetsurou pressed kisses to you cheeks as you woke up and took the food you offered him for lunch. Grabbed him coffee and parted with a kiss. You were elated. On cloud nine. Had almost forgotten that just a few days ago you’d worried about him flirting with your coworker. All of the worries had since dissipated and you were sure that today you could get up the courage to ask him if you could make it all official.
Elated and determined, you could barely focus all morning. All the way up until lunch. You walked easily in between the cubicles, ignoring the idle chatter of your coworkers as you passed. Giddy thoughts overwhelming your senses as you neared Tetsurou’s door. The blinds weren’t completely closed and you peeked, trying to see if you could catch a glimpse of the cute face he made when he was concentrating. Your eyebrows furrowed slightly when you noticed that his chair was empty. You immediately regretted your decision to not just walk away, to stay and scan your eyes across the rest of the room.
She was there. The girl from Friday. The one you’d asked about. Her lips were locked onto Tetsurou’s, her arms wound around his neck and his on her waist. You jerked away from the glass quickly. You couldn’t help the bubble of anxiety inside of your chest erupting. The feeling of your heart breaking, shattering into a million places. Surely you could leave, go back to your desk and pretend you never saw anything. But for some reason you couldn’t make yourself. So instead, you stayed. You waited.
It took her nearly another five minutes to leave Tetsurou’s office. You were still waiting there. She smiled happily at you, oblivious to the pain clearly written across your face. You slipped into Tetsurou’s office and watched silently as he shuffled some papers on his desk, trying to smooth down his untrainable hair.
She couldn’t help herself. “I thought maybe you loved me.” You said it quietly but it was loud enough for him to hear. Loud enough to catch his attention and snap his head to look at you. It only took him a second to register the look of distress on your face. For that one look to tug at his heartstrings, causing a pain in his chest that he hated.
“Y/n, what are you-”
You cut him off easily. “You told me she was nothing to worry about. She was nothing.” The words that refused to leave your tongue hung in the air as an accusation. That you were really the one who meant nothing.
“Y/n, she’s just a friend.” He tried to assure but the second he stepped towards you, you stepped away.
“You were kissing her!” You accused, whisper shouting so as to not call the attention of anyone past the closed door.
“I’m single.” Tetsurou defended himself. “Its not like I’m not allowed to kiss anyone.” He didn’t know why he said it. The words leaving his mouth before he could think about it and the way that you recoiled from the words, like they’d physically hurt you, had the taste of regret burning on his tongue.
“You know what Tetsurou.” You scoffed as you shook your head. Anger, embarrassment, hurt burning in your lungs.
“Y/n…” He tried but you easily shut him down.
“I’m done apologizing.” You declared. “I run around to make sure that I can bring you things you’d enjoy, food and coffee you like. I conform my fucking schedule to make sure that I’m available when you want me around.” You wouldn’t let him come near you, your hands coming out in front of you like a brace for if he even tried. “I put in so much effort to try and be with you. Fucking months of wasting my time on you.” Every word you let out felt like a knife in his gut but he wouldn’t let you see it. Refused out of pure stubbornness. “I’m not apologizing anymore for your ignorance of my effort.” You’d turned on your heel before he could even fully process what you’d said.
You left him alone in his office. It took him nearly five minutes of standing there in his empty office. In silent processing as he felt his chest fill up with an empty feeling eating at his insides. Nearly five minutes to go out after you. You were already gone at that point. Had told your desk neighbors you weren’t feeling well and left.
He tried to tell himself that you would come back. Like you always did. Like every time you got upset with him and walked away. Every time you would go silent. You’d always come back. Just like he would. He thought he’d see you again the next day. But you called out sick.
He thought maybe you’d show up after a few days. But it had been a week now. A whole week and you hadn’t even tried to come into work.
He had found himself at Kenma’s on Friday again instead of out with the rest of the staff for drinks again. The ringing of his phone had snapped him out of his video game induced haze. The game on the screen in front of him was paused, waiting for Kenma to return from the kitchen with snacks.
His phone lit up with your contact information. Not a text like it usually was but what with a call. He hated how easily his body filled with excitement at the prospect of hearing your voice again. But he couldn’t let you know that he was that desperate to be acknowledged by you. That needy for your attention. He let it ring a couple times before bringing the device up to his ear.
“Hey baby, how are-” You were quick to cut him off.
“Kuroo, I’m pregnant.” Short and to the point. World-shattering. He froze. Silence filled the line between the two of you. Him trying to find the words to say in response. He was sure his face had gone pale. You sighed from the other side of the line and continued. “About the baby… it’s yours.”
He couldn’t decide if the emotion suddenly filling his gut was elation or dread. But the one thing he knew for sure he could voice. “I’ll be there more.” The response was nearly immediate, impulsive. “You won’t have to worry about anything. I’ll always be-”
“We don’t need you Kuroo.” It was two knives into his heart at once. The statement itself and the name used. His surname, not Tetsu like you’d been calling him for months now. “I just wanted to let you know. You deserve to know.” You sighed and he felt frozen. “But we don’t need you.”
“Y/n, please.” He could hear his voice cracking. The crashing realization that he’d pushed you too far this time. “Just let me back in.” He ran his hand over his face and squeezed his eyes shut. “Just let me prove that I can do this.” He was begging but he couldn’t care. “I can do this.” He whispered into the line.
There was a memory playing through both of your minds now…
“I’m not good for you.” He muttered, eyes easily becoming hooded, almost closed as he watched your lips, so close to his.
You swallowed your anger as you whispered back into the phone. “You break everything you touch Tetsurou.” He stared at the wall in horror. Pain etching its way into his soul at the words that effortlessly left your lips, not as an accusation but more of a realization. It was then that Kenma reappeared in the room, Kuroo’s eyes finding the worried ones of his best friend as your voice came through the phone again. “Don’t call this number again, Kuroo.” The click of the line felt all too final as your side went dead.
“Just don’t fuck it up, okay?” “She’s a sweet girl. Wears her heart on her sleeve, you know. She’d be good for you.” “You have a tendency to push away good things. So don’t fuck it up.”
Kenma’s words from months ago echoed through Tetsurou’s head. He lifted his eyes heavily, they were watery and he felt like everything inside of him was tearing apart. “I fucked up.” He whispered looking to Kuroo like a kicked puppy. “You have to help me.”
Kenma sighed and shook his head at Tetsurou. “Call her again. Go to her place.” He instructed plainly. Sitting down next to him. Tetsurou sat in silence for a second before realizing that he didn’t even know where you lived now. He’d never made the effort to visit your home, even though you’d repeatedly made the effort to visit his. “Fix the mess you make.” Kenma instructed and Tetsurou nodded.
He easily pulled his phone back into his hand and found your contact. Pressing the call button he pressed the device to his ear.
One ring. Please pick up. He begged in his mind. And the ringing stopped.
We’re sorry, you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service.

“TIME WAS ALWAYS A MEASUREMENT OF THIS RELATIONSHIP AND WE FINALLY RAN OUT.”
the thirteen words printed in bold, black letters against a contrasting white background stare at you mockingly from the screen of your phone as you glare back at it. you internally scoff at the instagram post you happened upon on your explore page, swiftly scrolling away with a flick of your thumb.
but, deep down, you know the quote only managed to stir your emotions because it hit a little too close to home.
since the beginning of your relationship with suna rintaro, it has always been painfully obvious that you were infatuated with him. most of the time, you would be the one to text him first, to greet him cheerfully as you pass each other in the hallways, to ask if he'd like to have lunch together.
to an outsider, it might even seem pathetic or pitiful, the way you would pine after the man like a lovesick puppy when he barely made half the effort you were giving. but you didn't care – you were – are constantly chasing that high when suna would text back with a silly meme or smiley face, when he would smile back at you, when the two of you would converse about the latest happenings over a warm meal. the way he would laugh at your jokes, or casually throw a cheesy pick up line your way never fails to make your heart flutter.
and whenever he reciprocates your advances, it shoots a glimmer of hope straight to your heart, thinking maybe all your friends were wrong about him, that he's just as in love with you and that he's not going to just up and leave one day the moment he finds someone else.
that you're not just a temporary guest to fill in the vacant spot until he can find a long-term occupant.
it hasn't even been a year since you started officially dating suna, but the reality you've been denying for so long is beginning to unravel at your feet.
the familiar alarm blaring from his phone pulls you out of your sleep. the sun has barely risen and the room is still dark, but you can still make out his figure sitting up on the other side of the bed, the light from his phone screen illuminating his face. you follow suit, letting the blankets slip from your shoulders and land on your lap as you shuffle closer to him.
“rin,” you mumble out, stifling back a yawn as you try to rub the sleepy haze from your eyes.
suna briefly glances at you from over his shoulder. “y/n. you're awake,” he points out the obvious, voice scratchier than usual. “sorry. you should go back to sleep.”
you shake your head. “s'okay. i don't mind.”
suna nods without saying anything else, opting to leave for the bathroom to get ready for his day without sparing you a second look.
meanwhile, as you watch his back disappear from your sight, you force yourself to bite back a sigh despite the tug in your heart, throwing the blankets off of you and making your way to the kitchen.
suna appears in the doorway, already clad in his jacket and his bag slung over his shoulder, just as you place the last pancake on top of the wobbly stack. your eyes meet momentarily, making the two of you pause in your steps.
“rin,” you call out, offering a soft smile to him, “you should eat before you go. i got your favorite syrup at the store yesterday.”
your boyfriend awkwardly scratches the back of his neck. “oh, uh, i can't today,” he admits, “the team's going out for breakfast before practice today.”
it's impossible for him not to pick up the sudden change in your emotions no matter how much you try to hide them, evident by how fast the corners of your lips fall and your brows furrow.
then again, it would also be impossible for him to be unaware of how he has been, and still is, leading you on.
suna takes three large strides towards you and stands in front of you, taking your hands in his as he leans in to press a chaste kiss on your forehead. “sorry, babe,” his apologies are murmured. “it was a spur of the moment plan. we can have eat some other time, yeah?”
you hate the way your heart skips a beat at his bare-minimum offer.
how you still put on a smile for suna as he closes the door behind him without another thought and you're left alone in the empty apartment once again.
and in your heart, you know it's inevitable — the sand in your hourglass is quickly trickling out and it's only a matter of time until either one of you decide to stop pretending this love's not meant to be, and you were never the one meant to reside in his heart.
until then, you think you're fine being a placeholder.
Tumblr media
sorry to suna rintaro for this, ik you're actually a very sweet dork🫶

So, y'know how I always talk about how Ades has these really traumatizing nightmares about being locked in a mental hospital almost every night?? Well, even if the theme does slightly vary between nights, naturally, I thought I'd still describe how they usually go:
(TW: chains, psychiatric ward, gore, angst, trauma)
Somnum Exterreri
Pleiades slowly opened his eyes, everything was blurry and.... sideways? His mind was fuzzy, sounds were muffled, until his vision finally cleared up a bit, but he still didn't have the strength to get up. What the Hell was going on?
He groaned in fatigue and slight aching, when he finally realized the huge trail of golden blood splattered across the ground, coming straight from his head.
The mere sight of the liquid was apparently enough to alarm him, as he, despite his condition, jolted up, now sitting. He placed two of his hands to the side of his cranium, gently rubbing it to explore the source of the pain and bleeding. He exhaled:
"..h..uh..?....h..ow...?.....wh...a...t...?..." his slurred speech sounded out his thoughts.
But before any other questions could come to mind, he was alerted by the steps of two mysterious guards coming towards him. It was then he realized he was in an almost empty cell. The only other things near him were chains and cuffs scattered all across the ground. He didn't know what was going to happen, but, still confused, his mind told him to run. Immediately.
A sense of dread washed over him, as he swiftly got up and tried to make an escape,
One step, two steps, three--
He hit something, someone. A guard held him tight while the other grabbed his hand and sliced the skin bare with an unfamiliar blade. He yelped in pain, but was quickly shut up by a sudden stab in the stomach; he, agasp, could barely manage to stifle whimpers of agony and shock, as the other guard then picked up the sample of blood from his hand with a cotton swab and placed it in a container, before nodding to the other guard and walking away. The latter quickly pushed him back in the cell, making him once again hit his head on the walls, stunning him; they closed the cuffs on his hands, one by one, and wrapped the bigger chain all around his torso, still bleeding from the stab wound. Pleiades was trapped and scared, now chained to the ground, he got up, and was quickly pushed back down. Why was this even happening? His questions were soon answered by the passing of multiple stretches down the corridors. Had he really snapped? Who did he hurt? Where were all the others?? They couldn't possibly have been...
The guard looked down at him in disgust, then said something through the radio device he had in his pocket:
"Yeah, Demigod's locked up. Analyze the blood samples and prepare for lobotomy."
His eyes widened, loud and fast palpitations followed; Ades was terrified. As the guard left the cell, he got back up and pushed his body forward, trying to pry himself free from the fetters and shackles, instead, hurting himself even more. Tears now streaming down his face, he pleaded:
"NO!!!! DON'T LEAVE!!!!! YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME HERE!!!!!!! LET ME GO!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
his cries were ignored as he kept on struggling, to no avail.
Pleiades had a sharp intake of air, before coughing out a few sobs and giving in. He bellowed.

Angelic Friend
Hey guys! The season finale was SO good!! I love it so much!! Can’t wait for season 2! But this fanfic will take place before the finale.
Anyway, this story is about my new OC Pixie, who became friends with Charlie and the others but has a major secret.
So relax and enjoy the story!
Blitz and Sophie McKnight belong to @loli-momo1908
At 666 Lucifer Elementary School, Sonya was at her locker putting away her books. Liz came out in shadow form looking a bit annoyed.
Liz - “Why didn't you leave that boring class?”
Sonya - “Because I actually wanted to learn a new potion spell.”
Liz - *whining* “But that was boring!”
Sonya - *rolled her eyes* “You’re such a drama twin.”
Liz - *cross her arms* “Well you’re lucky it’s almost lunch time.”
As Sonya and Liz were walking to lunch, they heard some strange noises. They were sounding like somebody was being banged into lockers.
Liz - “What the hell was that?”
Sonya - “No idea. But let’s check it out. You know our curiosity.”
Liz - “Yeah, but unlike cats, it doesn't kill us.”
They followed the noises until they were down the hall. They were surprised to see a humanoid butterfly demon with black hair in a bob style, antennas, yellow glass eyes, big red and black wings along with the same color spiky dress, black gloves, with a gray belt, and brown boots. The butterfly was getting pushed around by 2 imp kids and a hellhound. Sonya and Liz looked disgusted as they witnessed the butterfly getting pushed around.
Butterfly - “Please leave me alone!”
Imp kid - “Not until you give us your lunch money.”
Butterfly - “No! It’s mine!”
Hellhound - “Heh. Why don’t we rip this freak wings off?”
Imp kid 2 - “Good idea!”
Just when they were about to grab the butterfly’s wings, they heard Sonya’s voice:
Sonya - *threateningly* “Hey! Leave her alone!”
The bullies turned and saw Sonya.
Imp kid - *smug* “Hey it’s the weirdo with the imaginary friend!”
Sonya - “Liz isn’t imaginary! She’s real!”
Hellhound kid - “Just get out here before we beat you next!”
Sonya - “Not until you leave the girl alone!”
Imp kid 2 - “Then I guess we are gonna have to bust you up!”
Sonya - “Alright. But can I just read something!”
Imp kid - *scoff* “What? Your will or your diary?”
Sonya - “No this! *take out a spellbook* somnum exterreri!”
At first, nothing happened. The bullies laughed at Sonya but still had that smile on her face. But then a few seconds, the bullies eyes turned purple and they fell on the ground screaming. Sonya smirks at this and went to the butterfly girl. She held out a hand to her:
Sonya - *softly* “You okay?”
Butterfly - *shyly* “Y-Yes. Umm…What did you do to those boys?”
Sonya - “I did a nightmare spell. They would be trap in their worst nightmare. Don’t worry, it only last a few hours.”
Butterfly - turn her head and rub her arm“Well…Thank you for saving me.”
Sonya - *smiles* “No problem. I can’t stand bullies. What’s your name by the way?”
“My name is Pixie.”
Sonya - “I’m Sonya Morningstar. This is my twin sister Liz.”
Liz - “Sup Shybug!”
Pixie - *uncomfortable* “Umm…It’s Pixie and how come you’re a shadow?”
Sonya - *chuckles* “My sister and I were born a Gemini: it’s considered very rare in Hell since it’s a pure earth star. We share the same body. Liz likes to give nicknames to people she meets.”
Liz - “It’s easier to remember than real names.”
Sonya - “Come on, We will show you around Hell.”
Pixie - “Um? What about school?”
Liz - *shrugs* “None of the teachers would care. They sometimes even let us go early if they don’t feel like teaching us anything.”
()()()()()()()()
As Sonya, Liz and Pixie were taking a walk on the street. As they were walking, Pixie was looking around and saw demons. They were either fighting, killing each other, stealing, etc. Pixie was feeling a bit uncomfortable seeing blood and guts and fire. She once again turned her head and rub her arm since it sometimes helps calm her down when she’s nervous.
Pixie - *uncomfortable* “Umm…Is this always like this?”
Sonya - “Yeah. But you get used to it.”
Liz - “What are ya? A sinner or hellborn?”
Pixie - “Oh! Um…I’m a sinner.”
Sonya - “Really? How long have you been here?”
Pixie - “A-A few days actually. I did some pretty bad stuff and I’m here. By myself.”
Sonya - *sympathetically* “Oh man really?”
Liz - *whispers* “Hey Sonya, tell her about the hotel.”
Sonya - *whispers* “Good idea! Hey Pixie, I know what place you can go to.”
Pixie - “Really?”
Sonya - *grabs her hand* “Yeah! Come on!”
()()()()()()()()
Sonya and Pixie ran until they made it in front of the Hazbin Hotel. Pixie’s eyes widened in surprise at how nice the hotel actually looked. Since the other buildings she had seen are either damaged, dirty, or run down.
Pixie - “What is this place?”
Sonya - “The Hazbin Hotel!”
Liz - “Our cuz Charlie owns it.”
Pixie - “Really?”
Sonya - “Yeah it’s super cool! I’ll show you.”
Sonya led Pixie inside and saw some egg bois covered in paint and getting chase by Niffty who is trying to clean them. Sir Pentious was trying a picture but was using the brush too hard. Angel was painting but was looking at Husk who just gave him the finger. Blitz and Sophie was also working on their painting as well. Charlie and Vaggie were also painting until Charlie noticed Sonya and Liz with Pixie.
Charlie - *happy* “Oh hey Sonya and Liz! *she hugs them* Oh! Who’s your little friend?”
Sonya - “This is Pixie. She’s new in Hell.”
Pixie - *shyly* “N-Nice to meet you.”
Charlie - *warmly* “Nice to meet you too. Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel: where sinners come to get redeem and go to heaven with the help from me! The Princess of Hell.”
Pixie - *shocked* “Princess of Hell?! *freaking out* Oh uh…N-Nice to meet you *curtsy* your princess-ness I-I mean your highness or umm…Royal lady person? No! That’s not good! Umm-“
Charlie - “Whoa! Take it easy. You can just call me Charlie.”
Pixie - *takes a deep breath* “R-Right. Charlie. Umm…So you redeem sinners here?”
Charlie - “Yep! I feel like it’s a better solution than the extermination.”
Pixie - “Extermination?”
Charlie - *surprised* “Oh my? You don’t know? Well for as long as I can remember: heaven sent these cruel awful exorcists that would come and kill a lot of sinners.”
Pixie - *horrfied* “That's so horrible!”
Charlie - *determinated* “But this hotel is going to change that! It will show heaven that everybody deserves a second chance.”
Pixie still looked scared and nervous. Especially hearing about the extermination. Sonya noticed this and said:
Sonya - “Umm…Cousin Charlie, why don’t we show what we are doing now?”
Charlie - “Good idea! *sweetly* Pixie, do you like to draw and paint?”
Pixie - *slowly nods* “I love drawing.”
Charlie - “Come I’ll introduce you to the others. *points to Vaggie* This is my girlfriend Vaggie.”
Pixie - *shyly held out her hand* “Nice to meet you.”
Vaggie - *smiles* “Nice to meet you too. You have very nice wings.”
Pixie - *smiles* “Thanks.”
Charlie - “These are also our guests. The first one is Angel Dust.”
Angel - “Hey kid. I really like your dress. It remind of that bitch Velvette once wore for some fashion shit.”
Pixie - “Oh you’re into fashion too?”
Angel - *nods* “Yep. I’m a drag queen, a sexy one at that. And I also love to suck-“
Sonya - *mad* “Angel! Nobody wants to hear that!”
Angel - *chuckles* “Popsicles! I wasn’t gonna say anything dirty.”
Pixie - *to Charlie* “What does he mean?”
Charlie - *nervously chuckles* “It’s nothing. Our other guest is Sir Pentious.”
Sir Pentious - “Greetings little butterfly! I’m the great Sir Pentious who will
Someday show off his amazing inventions in hell!”
Vaggie - *stern* “Pentious, what have we discuss before?”
Sir Pentious - *sighs* “No building weapons in the hotel.”
Charlie - “And this is Blitz and Sophie McKnight.”
Sophie - “Hi! I really like your wings! I have wings too.”
Pixie - *chuckles* “I can see that. They are really nice.”
Blitz - “It’s nice to meet you Pixie. I’m Sophie’s older brother.”
Pixie - “It’s really nice to meet you.”
Charlie - “And this is Husk. He’s the bartender.”
Pixie - “O-Oh but I’m too young to drink…”
Husk - “Relax kid, I don't serve drinks to kids. Unless they want to, I mean I can see the weird boy drinking at 13.”
Sonya - *annoyed* “I’m a girl Husk.”
Husk - *shrugs* “Whatever.”
Charlie - “Umm…This is Niffty who is the housekeeper. We are mostly sure that she’s is 80% harmless.”
Niffty - “Hi! Your wings remind me of all the bugs I kill! *sees one* oooh that one deserves some stabs!!”
Charlie - *chuckles nervously* “Why don’t we draw some pictures?”
()()()()()()()()()
Sonya and Pixie were painting some pictures. Then Pixie finished and said:
Pixie - “Is this good?”
She nervously showed everybody her painting. The painting was pictures of a field with flowers. Everybody stared at it in awe.
Charlie - *amaze* “Wow Pixie! That is amazing!”
Pixie - *shyly turn away and rubs her arm* “Thank you. I-I always like to draw and paint.”
Angel - “So wait if you like sunshine and flowers, how the fuck did you end up here?”
Pixie - “Oh! Umm…I actually hurt animals…Found them annoying. Especially Butterflies. I died when I-I got hit by a car after I pushed a cat.”
Sophie - *shocked* “You hurt animals?! But they are so cute.”
Pixie - “I didn’t think so.”
Charlie - “Well Pixie, I get the feeling you need the hotel to help you change your ways.”
Pixie - *surprised* “You want me to stay?”
Charlie - “Of course! The hotel is about second chances and I can tell you deserve one.”
Vaggie - “Wait, Pixie are you by yourself?”
Pixie - *nod* “Yes. I don’t have my parents with me.”
Charlie - *sympathetic* “Aww…Well don’t worry, we promise to protect and take care of you.”
()()()()()()()()
Outside in the hotel, Charlie, Vaggie, Blitz were outside while Pixie and Sonya were playing tag with Sophie. However, as they were playing, Sophie wasn’t watching where she was going and tripped and fell on the ground.
Blitz - *worried* “Sophie!”
Sophie whimpered and had tears in her eyes. There was a cut on her knee and it was bleeding.
Sophie - *whimpers* “It hurts..”
Just before Blitz can do his healing power, Pixie steps up and gently puts her hand on Sophie’s wound. She closed her eyes and her hand began to glow and the wound was gone. The others were amazed by Pixie's powers. However, Pixie began to wince as Sophie’s wound was now on her knee.
Sonya - “What the heck happened? How did you do that?”
Pixie - *wince* “It’s part o-of my curse. I-I can heal but get the pain.”
Charlie - *sympathetic* “Oh you poor thing. I’ll get you a bandage.”
Sophie - “I’ll help!”
Charlie - *chuckles* “Okay my little nurse.”
Charlie got the first aid kit and Sophie helped her with Pixie’s wound. Then Pixie has an apple design bandage.
Pixie - “Thank you.”
Sophie - *holding her hand* “Come on Pixie, for being a good patient, you get a treat!”
As Sophie led Pixie inside with Sonya following, Vaggie and Blitz looked a bit suspicious of Pixie.
Vaggie - “Charlie, don’t you think that was a bit strange?”
Charlie - *confused*“ What do you mean?”
Vaggie - “She was able to heal Sophie’s wounds.”
Charlie - “But Blitz does that all the time.”
Blitz - “Yeah but that’s different. I’m a hellborn demon. Pixie is a sinner.”
Vaggie - “Don’t you think it’s strange for a sinner to have healing powers?”
Charlie - “Yeah but remember something: she has a curse as well. So whenever she does heal somebody, she gets their injuries as well.”
Vaggie - “Yeah that’s true.”
Blitz - “But I find it strange that what caused her to go to hell was hurting animals. It's usually something more than that.”
Charlie - “I know but she still ended up here alone. The hotel purpose is for second chances and Pixie really deserves it. Plus she looks scared and nervous when we first saw her. Hell can be scary especially for kids.”
Vaggie - *sighs* “Yeah your right Charlie. I just don’t want anything bad to happened.”
Blitz - “Maybe we should still keep an eye on her just in case.”
()()()()()()()()
Over the next few days, Sonya and Liz have been hanging out with Pixie. Spending time with Sonya, Liz, Charlie, and the others actually been helping Pixie as well. She grew less nervous and more open of her feelings and having fun. Even though Vaggie and Blitz kept an eye on Pixie, they thought nothing of her seeing she caused no harm at all.
One day, Pixie and Sonya were playing volleyball at school. Sonya hit the ball and the opponent jumped high and hit the ball with great force. But then Pixie flew and also hit the ball with such great force that the ball hit the other player and got sunk into the ground.
Pixie - “Whoo! We won!”
Sonya - “Awesome job Pixie!”
Liz - “Yeah Shybug! You hit that ball like I would!”
Pixie - *giggled* “Well I did learn from the best.”
Liz - “Oh yeah that’s true. I actually taught her that move.”
Pixie - “Oh! I made you guys something.”
Pixie took out two friendship bracelets. One was a blue one that had a blue heart for Liz, and a yellow one with a yellow heart for Sonya. Both Sonya and Liz looked so touched at this.
Sonya - *touched* “Aw thanks Pixie! It’s so sweet! Oh! Here’s something for you!”
Sonya took out her magic book and said: “Holinua!” And then a pink friendship bracelet with a butterfly came.
Sonya - “I made it pink since it’s your favorite color.”
Pixie - *squeal* “Thank you! I’m gonna change.”
Pixie went to the locker room to change. Song and Liz were looking at their friendship bracelet that Pixie made them. They never really had anything like this.
Sonya - “Pixie is so sweet.”
Liz - “Yeah. She kind of reminds me of Cuz.”
Sonya - “Now that she’s comfortable around us, you think she's ready to meet Rimfire, Raina and Frostbite?”
Liz - “Yeah. I think they will like her.”
Sonya - *noticed something* “Hey Pixie dropped her gloves. *picks it up* better give it back to her.”
Sonya and Liz went to the locker room to look for Pixie. However, they noticed a glowing light. Curious about it, they followed the light, and their eyes widen in shock:
Pixie was in angelic form.
Her skin and new gloves were now white as snow. Her wings and hair are sky blue with white on them. Her dress was blue with yellow swirl designs. Her leggings were white with pink hearts on them, with black Mary Jane shoes and eyes were white even having a halo above her head.
Sonya - *shocked* “P-Pixie…”
Pixie turned around and saw Sonya and Liz with shocked looks on her face.
Pixie - *yelps* “Sonya! Liz! I didn’t know you came-“
Sonya - “You…You were an angel all this time!”
Pixie - *nervous* “No! No! It not like that I-“
Liz - *mad* “You lied to us! Did our friendship mean nothing to you?!”
Pixie - “No no! It did! I really do consider you guys my first real friends! I just…”
Sonya - *sadly* “Oh Pixie…Why?”
Pixie took a deep breath and began to sing:
I know I shouldn’t of have lied
I should of told you the truth on
How I really did died:
The whole hating animals was an
act. I actually do love them all especially
butterflies. One day I saw a cat from afar and sacrificed my life so it wouldn’t be hit by that car.
Even though heaven became my new home, I still felt uncomfortable, shy and alone. I kept hearing how bad hell was so I wanted to see with my own eyes. So I use my powers to see the place where the bad people had died.
At first I was scared, but after meeting you guys and the princess of hell, I actually felt more at ease. This place isn’t actually sad in fact: Hell isn’t as bad.
Sonya - *singing* Hell isn’t as bad but hey what place is perfect? Meeting you made me glad.
Liz - *singing* You accept us for who we are. Not a lot of people do. I used to think Angels were nothing but stuck up bitches but meeting you changed that. You can even see that He’ll isn’t as bad.
Pixie - *singing* “I’m sorry that I lied. But what will your cousin say? What if she gets angry and turns me away?
Sonya - *singing* “You shouldn’t worry because she’s not like that. Because she will now know that you think Hell isn’t as bad.
Liz - *singing* “Our Cuz is forgiving. She’s all about forgiving. She believes in second chances and won’t give you neglectful glances. It will make her happy when she hears how an angel doesn’t think Hell isn’t as bad.”
All three - *singing* “Hell isn’t as bad since meeting each other made us all glad! It shouldn’t matter if you’re a demon or an angel, you can still be friends and care about each other and see places like Hell isn’t as bad!
All three of them stop singing and giggle.
Pixie - “I’m still sorry for lying.”
Sonya - *chuckles* “It’s okay. I know it’s hard to reveal something huge like this.”
Liz - “Yeah. But you’re still cool for an Angel.”
Unknowingly to them, outside the window were two exorcist angels watching them.
Exorcist 1 - “There’s the missing angel!”
Exorcist 2 - “Looks like the demon was keeping her hostage this whole time.”
Exorcist 1 - “Should we report this to Adam?”
Exorcist 2 - “Not yet. We will take care of it first.”
()()()()()()()()()
Sonya, Liz and Pixie were outside of the hotel. Pixie was still feeling a bit unsure.
Pixie - *nervous and rubs her arm “Ooh I don’t know about this. What if your cousin gets mad at me?”
Liz - “Hey, like we told you before: our Cuz is all about second chances.”
Sonya - “She will be a bit surprised, but will understand.”
“Found you!”
They turned around and saw the two Exorcist Angels.
Pixie - *horrified* “The Exorcists!”
Sonya - *shocked* “How the hell they get here?!”
Excorist 1 - “We noticed an little angel girl was missing and saw that she was in hell.”
Excorist 2 - “That when we saw her with you and realized you kidnap her! We are taking her back home.”
Sonya - “No! She’s staying here.”
Exorcist 1 - *chuckles* “Suit yourself, demon. Will fun to have a practice for the extermination.”
Sonya - “Stay back Pixie! We got this!”
Sonya took out her magic spell book and began to say our spells like fire, water, ice, etc. While they took effect, it wasn’t powerful enough to stop the Exorcists. Then one of the Exorcists burnt Sonya’s book to ashes. Just when Sonya was about to prick out her finger to let out Liz, she felt a shock collar around her neck and was lifted up in the air. She saw one of the Exorcists was using a pole connected to an angelic shock collar. Pixie was horrified by this and tried to stop it but was held back by one of the Exorcists.
Inside the hotel, the others were actually discussing plans for the next activity. But they were hearing noises outside.
Husk - *annoyed* “Princess can you tell who ever making the fucking noises to shut the hell up!?”
Charlie - “Calm down Husk. It probably some demons fighting in front of the hotel again.”
When Charlie moved the curtain windows her eyes widened in horror: her baby cousin was in danger by the Excorists!
Sonya tried to pull the shock collar away from her neck. It almost worked but the other Exorcist use the collar around her arms that caused her even more pain and started screaming.
Exorcist 1 - “Look like we got a new test dummy!”
Pixie - *horrified* “NO! STOP!!”
All of a sudden, the window broke and Charlie in her demonic form effortly broke the poles in half like they were toothpicks. Sonya was free, but almost fell to the ground but was caught by Angel Dust who carried her in his arms.
Charlie - *demonic and threateningly* “Touch my baby cousin again, and I’ll tear you two apart, put the pieces back together to make ugly ragdoll!”
Exorcist 1 - *shocked* “What?!”
Exorcist 2 - “What the fuck?!”
Charlie - *furious* “You heard me dipshits! The demon you were hurting is the niece of Lucifer and I don’t think he would be happy to hear heaven break their deal on hurting a hellborn!”
Exorcist 2 - *shocked* “Oh shit! We are so dead!”
Just when Charlie was about to rip those two apart, Pixie said;
Pixie - “Charlie stop!”
Charlie turned and saw Pixie as an angel. This shocked Charlie seeing an angel that wasn’t an exorcist in Hell.
Charlie - *calming down* “Pixie?”
Pixie - “Please don’t fight! It’s all my fault I just wanted to see what Hell is like. *to the Exorcists* I’ll go back to heaven. Please just don’t hurt them anymore.”
The Exorcists opened the portal to heaven. Charlie said:
Charlie - “Wait Pixie!”
Pixie - *regretfully* “Tell Sonya that’s I’m sorry.”
Charlie - “Wait!”
But it was too late. Pixie flew up in heaven along with the two Exorcists. The portal closed and Charlie looked really sad. Then Angel said:
Angel - *concerned* “Charlie. Your cousin doesn’t look too good.”
Charlie turned and saw her baby cousin unconscious in Angel’s arms. She had bruises and burnt marks on her. Even Liz looked worried and scared for her sister.
Charlie - “We gotta call her parents now!”
()()()()()()()()
Sonya moans a bit and she opened her eyes halfway. Sonya saw she was in her hotel room and in bed covered with a blanket. She felt a bit dizzy and then her eyes widen as she remembered something:
Sonya - *loud raspy* “PIXIE!”
Then Sonya began to cough as Liz came out in her shadow form.
Liz - “Oh thank Uncle Lucifer you’re okay! But take it easy sunshine you’re burnt out.”
The shout out had Charlie, Sonya and Liz’s parents Azarel, and Zella rushing in. They were relief to see that Sonya was okay.
Charlie - “Thank Dad you’re okay. We were so worried about you.”
Zella - But you shouldn’t of speak as your throat is still weak”
Sonya - *winces* “What happened?”
Azarel - “Those evil Exorcists came and hurt you. Charlie came to save you. *darkly* Those bastards were lucky I wasn’t there cause I would have torn them limb from limb!”
Charlie - *nervously chuckles* “Take it easy Uncle Azarel.”
Liz - “You were out for a couple of hours. But Mom patched you up.”
Sonya then noticed some had a couple of bandages on her, and her throat was wrapped in gauze bandage as well. Even saw that she was in her pajamas.
Zella - “Your father and I will stay here for a few days.”
Sonya - “But what about Pixie?”
Charlie, Liz, Azarel and Zella all looked at each other with unease. They didn’t know how to break it to Sonya. Especially with the injuries she had suffered.
Charlie - *sighs* “Sweetheart, Pixie had to go back to heaven.”
Sonya - *shocked* “What?”
Liz - *sad* “It’s true. She had to go back home.”
Zella - “She didn’t want an ugly fight so she went back to the heaven lights.”
Sonya was shocked and devastated. Her friend had to go back home. Even though Pixie was Angel, she still didn’t deserve to go back home by force. Sonya looked at her friendship bracelet Pixie made her, lied back down on her bed, turned to her side, and silently began to cry. Liz noticed and gave her a hug to comfort her. Charlie, Azarel and Zella felt sorry for her and Azarel said:
Azarel - *comforting* “Oh it’s okay sweetie. I know it hurts that Pixie had to leave but it’s not as bad.”
Sonya - *whimpers* “H-How you know?”
Zella - “Your father is right honey, there sometimes people stay and then they have to go away. But it’s not always forever.”
Charlie - “Yeah! Maybe there’s a chance that Pixie can come back. And you can always remember the good times you had together.”
Sonya - *smiles a bit* “That’s true. *to her parents* Are you guys upset that she was an angel?”
Azarel - “Nah you can be friends with whoever you want. As long as they aren't sickos.”
Zella - “What matters is that she makes you happy. Now you need some rest so you can feel less crappy.”
Zella gently push Sonya down on her bed and tuck her in. Gave her a kiss on the forehead and left the room. Azarel said:
Azarel - “We will be the room across yours in case you need us.”
Azarel and Zella left the room to go to their hotel room. Charlie then said to Sonya:
Charlie - “I’m glad you’re okay. But I’m sure you will see Pixie again. The actions she pulled is proof that your friendship is genuine.”
Charlie gently gave her baby cousin a hug and left the room. Sonya looked at her friendship bracelet and smiled at it.
Liz - “Cuz is right. Shybug actually did care because she tried to stop the right and didn’t act like a snob toward demons.”
Sonya - *smiles* “Yeah. I’m sure we will see her again.”
Sonya took off her bracelet and put it under her bed.
Sonya - “See you soon Pixie.”
Sonya smiled and fell asleep. Hoping that someday she will see her angelic friend
Hope you all like it!

Happy WBW! Please tell me about an unusual animal/creature from your world
Tumblr media
Hello. Happy WBW! Thank you so much for the question. I hope you are having a wonderful day.
In the Planes of Existence universe, there are many unusual creatures that inhabit the world of Cirel. Most exist after the Empress Consort decides to stop the Draklian threat and travels to their capital.
tw: death. murder.
Using Que'lanan -- a rune sword that was been forged by dragons -- she stabs their leader through a book, pinning him to his throne. She and the Draklian population die in the process, as an immense magical explosion is released from the book. This book is the Draconomicon, one of the rare Dragon Tears. The explosion reaches into space and shatters one of the two moons orbiting Cirel, as well as creates something akin to a nuclear winter.
The lush wilderness to the North of the Olessan Empire is changed into a desolate wasteland. As a result, one of the most fearsome and unusual creatures was created, the somnum Exterreri.
Tumblr media
The Somnum Exterreri
The Somnum Exterreri are a race of sentient creatures. Their upper torso consists of the features of a big cat and large, feathery wings; their lower. When the explosion of the Draconomicon was released, the magical energies fused together the felines, the griffins, and the death adders of the Valerian Wilds.
They guard the entrance into the Death Plane, as the goddess Nyxa came to the first created and offered it a deal. She would bestow the ability for it to dream walk, breed, and cause nightmares in exchange for it to become one of her guardians.
These creatures also have several characteristics from the previous animal ancestors. Their claws drip with venom, as well as have venom in its bite. It can also fly.
When I was creating this creature, I was inspired by depictions of the Greek monster Typhon.

What’s it like when the twins and Julius properly meet at the academy?
“Stay away from them,”
Vincent and Charlotte both huddled closer to each other as Julius approached them. He had a reputation within the academy and it wasn’t a nice one.
“I’m sorry uh..,” Vincent coughed out, “We didn’t mean to..,”
“You look like our mum..,” Charlotte whispered.
Julius stared at her, there was definitely a resemblance between the two of them. The blonde hair and same nose, along with the pale skin.
“Do you even know who our mum is?” Julius asked them both.
“Our mum?” Vincent furrowed his brows, “What-“
“Your our brother!” Charlotte gasped, “Mum wrote about you in her journal all the time! Your Julius!”
Vincent kept his mouth shut as Julius spoke.
“At least one of you take after mum,” He mumbled, “Like I said, do you even know who she is?”
“Mum was Estelle Kim-“
“Min,” Julius hissed, “Her name is Estelle Min and she was a Medicus, her ability was to heal and project shields, she was the only medicus in the academy,”
Charlotte and Vincent were both in awe as Julius spoke, listing off many of their mother’a achievements. That was before Vincent spoke.
“But.. isn’t your dad Min Yoongi?” Vincent asked, “Wasn’t he ranked a somnum exterreri?”
Julius nodded, “And what do you think I am?”
The twins kept silent.
“My dad and our mother met in the academy, they were in a team with your dad,” Julius explained, “Anyway, I don’t like history, just don’t be stupid idiots while your here, you might be Kim Namjoon’s children but if you want to survive, you have to make friends,”
“You don’t have any friends,” Charlotte pointed out.
“I have friends!” Julius snapped.
“Where are they?” Charlotte asked.
“Places!” Julius clicked her fingers in her face, “I’m not going to be here to save your asses all the time so go make some friends and don’t piss anyone off!”

just a nightmare
for a drabble about my muse being woken up by yours in the middle of the night after they’ve been screaming out in fear.
Nothing had been the same since he had fallen into the core. Initially, the replica had believed it to purely be stress or lack of proper food. From the dizziness to the blackouts, it was getting tiresome. The other symptoms had been bearable, however, the nightmares were not, they were like a collar around his neck making it harder for him to breathe. It was always different, but he never could remember what they were about, just within his grasps but slipping past his fingertips. Even now, far from the world that rejected his existence, they still haunted him.
Eyes shot open at the touch on his body, green hues bright with terror. Gloved digits found themselves wound around the other’s throat, tighter and tighter as his shoulder’s quivered. It wouldn’t be till he heard that annoyingly familiar pitch that his grip faded, hands letting go as he pushed himself back. Without a moment of hesitation, the replica threw up his walls and narrowing his hate-filled eyes.

❛ 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐮𝐬 ❜
Okay so let’s begin with a hello and an introduction, I'm Megan, I am the mun behind thedreamsthatareanswered blog and I do have a problem over adding too many muses. But I am extremely friendly, quite shy at first but I liven up, mostly by sending memes and random ideas! I look forward to writing with you all!
RULES OF MY PAGE:
I will not abide smut on my page, I will immediately remove any post off my page containing it if I am tagged.
This is a NO DRAMA ZONE,if all you want is to cause drama or spread hate I will block you, you can keep it all to yourself.
I may take my time to respond, that doesn't mean I am ignoring you but that also doesn't mean you pester me about replies, because I will purposely make you wait.
If you do not like any of my muses, do not attempt to manipulate me into changing them for YOU.
The most important rule, HAVE FUN!
A SMALL NOTE:
Most of my muses are not 'Canon' per say but that does not mean I can not find a way to fit them into any verse. It also doesn't mean you shouldn't give me a chance because at first glance you don't see YOUR verse. So, if you have any questions or ideas, just throw them at me! Thank you!

Written for the @be-compromised Summer Promptathon (even though it’s winter) - @cassiesinsanity prompted “they can’t stop the nightmares”
Warnings for prescripted drug use. (Gif not mine; 1632 words)
Tumblr media
somnum exterreri
It’s nothing.
Nothing that Natasha can pinpoint that sets her teeth on edge and skin crawling.
Maybe it’s too much caffeine, maybe it’s the strain of being around people, maybe it’s just her goddamn brain having a low on whatever chemical it needs to regulate.
But.
The nightmares just keep coming.
The thing is, she knows that she needs sleep, and so like a good little soldier, she lays down, closes her eyes and drifts.
Sometimes it take 10 minutes, sometimes an hour, but she does it. She makes herself drop into dreamland, and goes with whatever haunting images her brain chooses to show her.
Always she wakes up.
But it doesn’t always feel like she should.
When she’s dreaming of little girls being strapped to a bed, with herself standing over them.
When she dreams of explosions taking out innocents, and then red mist coming out of everything.
When she imagines hands on her, unkind and brutal.
It’s hard.
It’s hard to wake up to a world where the night is dark and not filled with monsters, where; only she remains.
She starts isolating herself.
Human contact seems altogether too hard. Even getting morning coffee with Clint, or running with Maria.
It’s too energy consuming when she’s running on empty.
She does the work, goes home and rests.
It helps.
It doesn’t.
There’s a solo mission where she misses a shot and gets shot in return. Nothing serious. A graze. She doesn’t even go to medical. The pain feels necessary.
If she was in the Red Room she would be killed for her incompetence.
She waves off Clint when he runs up to check on her, and tells him it’s been a long day. She can’t quite hold onto his words, so she fakes it. She nods and smiles and says something generic.
It’s enough.
He says he’ll come over tomorrow and they’ll go food shopping together to replenish her stocks. She nods again, grabs his hand and squeezes.
He doesn’t need to deal with her.
She knows she messed up.
It’s time to do something about it.
She’s home within the hour, darkness just falling and she keeps to her routines. By the time she sits down, the despondency washes over her, she holds in her hand the sleeping tablet, the soft shell capsule smooth in her hand as she contemplates taking two instead of one.
She has nowhere to be tomorrow. Imagines that her body can rest, recover.
Natasha holds her head in her hands as she sits on the edge of the bed.
She doesn’t want to do this.
She has a drink of water, and takes two tablets.
She doesn’t want to do this.
.
She sleeps.
But the dreams come.
She doesn’t wake up.
She can’t wake up.
She can’t escape and they morph.
Girls turn into corpses, men turn into monsters.
The drugs pull her deeper.
Her heart beats faster, and she gulps down breaths.
There’s no rest in this sleep, it’s like treading water, exhausting and consuming.
There’s screaming.
She thinks it’s her own voice.
.
Clint arrives at 10am, coffees in hand, knocking on the door. He should really just break in, but she’d seemed… off.. And he doesn’t want to catch a bullet because she’s not at her best.
He knocks again and calls her phone.
It picks up on the sixth ring.
“I’m outside.” He says and he’s met with the dial tone.
The door unlocks.
Her hair is tied up on top of her head. His oversized tshirt looks enormous on her.
He greets her with a smile and hands over the coffee, which she declines with a wave of her hand.
She hasn’t said anything to him and he makes himself at home in the kitchen.
It’s sparse but there’s some pasta he sticks in a pot, and eggs in the fridge. He cooks the pasta and then mixes it with the egg, putting it together in a bowl and passing it across.
She looks so tired.
“You look like shit.” He tells her, knowing it’s the wrong thing to say but deciding to call her out.
“Nightmares.” She admits, taking out her hair and putting it back up again so the flyaways are off her face.
She takes her bowl and sits on the couch.
He follows her and they eat in silence.
It’s not unusual. What’s unusual is that she’s admitting it. He’s caught her in nightmares before, usually when they’re on missions.
“I know you don’t want to, but they’re there for a reason..”
She looks over to him.
“They can’t.. They don’t stop the nightmares.” She puts the bowl down and leans back, arms across her chest. “I tried last night.”
He tilts his head, not looking at her, not wanting to challenge the tentative truths she tells.
“I got stuck.. I saw..” she stops and takes a sip of water, her breath hitching. “I saw Yelena.” She lays back, head on back of the couch. “She said it was my fault.”
Clint waits.
There’s more. He knows. There’s always more when it’s her. This is probably just scratching the tip of the iceberg. It’s her putting her feelers out to make sure he’s safe to tell more too. To admit what’s really on her mind.
“There’s no reason for this,” she tells him, frustration bleeding through. “Nothing happened. Nothing triggered me.”
He thinks he sees tears.
“I can’t sleep Clint. I think it’s punishment.”
.
He lays with her, even though it’s the middle of the day.
“You’ll wake me?”
He nods, a promise of his actions, even if she doesn’t quite believe him.
He holds her hand and pulls her close.
“If this doesn’t work?” He leaves the question hanging.
She sighs. Eyes still closed.
“I’ll try it.” She concedes.
It being the prazosin. The drug that cancels out dreams. He knows she thinks that taking it means she admits to having ptsd. Taking it means, for her, that she’s not strong enough to train her brain out of the nightmares. He doesn’t even know how that thought got in her head.
They lay still and he draws patterns on the back of her hand, he’s not sure when she falls asleep, but he knows when the nightmares start.
She’s sweating, breath coming quick, a moan breaks through and he’s moving, hands on her face trying to draw her out of the sandman’s clutches.
“Natasha. Wake up.” He repeats it.
“Tash, you’re asleep. Wake up. Come on.” He pulls her into a sitting position, grabbing her wrist as she throws a sloppy hit towards him.
There’s a moment, between the awake and asleep where she’s still coming around, where the world is clouded, and the realisation that everything was just dreams lives.
Fatigue beats down on her as she knows what Clint waking her means. Realisation comes quickly, and she leaves the room. Clint knows to stay put. She’ll come to him when she’s ready. She doesn’t need him saying it.
He does wonder what her dream was about though.
.
“What if I can’t wake up again?” Natasha asks.
Clint hands over the green tablet.
“I’ll wake you.” He promises.
She balks at taking it from him, a huge sigh passing her lips.
“What if it doesn’t work?” She’s just stalling now. But he’s patient. He understands what drugs mean to her.
“I’ve taken it. Do you think any less of me for taking it?” He asks, cutting down where she’s heading with the questioning.
She looks scandalised.
“Oh course not.”
He’s gentle with his reasoning.
“Your adrenaline is spiking. We don’t know why. It’s giving you nightmares. You can’t sleep. Fatigue makes you sloppy.” She give him a look.
“This will stop it spiking. Half now, full tomorrow. Half the next and then done.” He can see her jaw clenched at the realisation that this is not a one time thing.
“Come on, Nat. You know how much no sleep gets to you. How longs it even been now?”
He can’t hear what she mutters but the bright redness of her cheeks betrays that even she knows it’s been too long.
“We have the next week off. Think of it like an experiment. If it works, great, if not we can rule it out. Yeah?” He knows he’s fighting a losing battle. She doesn’t want to do this. He doesn’t really want to make her.
But.
There’s always a but. If she works off any less sleep, he knows that the flashbacks and triggers work their way into waking hours. He knows how hard it will be for her to guard her precious emotions.
She does too.
“You can do it.” He encourages. “I’ll be right here.” I’ll take care of you, the unspoken words.
She does, takes the pill and drowns it.
Opens her mouth at him out of habit.
He laughs.
“Come on. Let’s watch some shit TV.”
.
It’s morning.
It’s morning.
It’s morning.
Her head is killing her, but it’s not the headache of not getting enough sleep. It’s a dizzy haze, not unlike that of post concussion.
She did it.
Sitting up, Natasha immediately regrets her sudden movements. She can almost feel her blood pressure drop as she swings her feet over the side of the bed.
There were no dreams.
She did it.
Clint’s by her side as she sways on standing.
“Sit down.” He prompts.
She does. Leans into him, breathes in his familiar smell.
“I did it.” She whispers almost to herself but knows he hears it too, even if it’s the pride in her voice.
“You did it.” He rumbles back.
He pushes her back gently, and makes her lay down.
“Breakfast?” He asks, offering her a sliver of bacon.
.
All my fic.
